Boomy
I have had one of these Cajons for a couple of years now. Its a really nice sounding drum with lots of low end which manages to stand out over amplified guitar and vocal at open mic nights etc. Once mic’d up it sounds fantastic.
Good quality and feel
Bought this for my husband for Christmas so still early days but it was packaged well and arrived on time and in one piece. Was difficult to chose a Cajon as there are so many options available but Pearl is always a safe bet and I think I made the right choice. Husband is super happy with it.

FIXED SNARE
A great bit of kit from Pearl.
Beware of sellers decription though as this is NOT a snare on snare off instrument. I’ve contacted Pearl and what I’ve received is correct. I’m a little disappointed but it’s still the perfect stool for motorcycle repairs. Tap and think, it’s the only way. Let’s hope the seller replies to me.

I recently purchased this Pearl Cajon & I currently own other variants of their Boombox range.
This has two sets of snare wires behind the front plate not three as the Boombox variants have. Despite this the snare sounds crisp & sharp. Striking the front plate further down gives you the bass drum sound. Not overly thumpy in my opinion but well balanced.
Playing some patterns on this drum the bass & snare overall sounded very clear & sharp, it’s not as well constructed as the fibreglass versions but there has been no compromise with the sound quality. This is the third Pearl Cajon that I have owned & I highly recommend them. The sound of Pearl Cajons closely replicate the sound of a full kit, which considering these are very portable is a good thing!
This was the second Pearl Cajon that I purchased. I decided to go for Pearl in the first instance as I preferred the sound & build quality over other brands. This is a fibreglass Cajon with a wood front plate and the rear of the Cajon is curved with the soundhole being ported. The three snare wires behind the front plate offer a fine balance between snare/bass drum.
This produces plenty of low end Boom and it has been commented that this sounds like a full kit when I play it.
I play mainly rock/blues/country rock & this is well suited to that style of music.
While I am a drummer, I don't have any great expertise in Cajons. It sounds very good to me and the quality of construction is excellent. The snares are indeed tunable; the screws that hold them in are easily adjustable through the sound hole. There is sufficient play to make the snares more or less crisp. May not be up to performance standards but a very playable and attractive piece of furniture.

Disclaimer, I am not a musician so if you are looking for more technical input look elsewhere. This is super fun to bang around on, I always wanted one and went ahead and got this a few months ago. Sounds great (while I am not a musician I know the basics and it does sound good). I got this one because I am a big guy and it is on the taller side of the spectrum so its comfortable to me, more so than the shorter ones. It seems to be built well and while not top of the line, a great fun addition to the collection of instruments.
Bonjour.Voici un produit de percussions, Cajon ou il existe trs peut de dtail,au niveau descriptif, sauf sur Amazon Usa, nanmoins pas trs explicite…Une Qualit de construction Top! Entirement,en rsine(poxy)=poids plus lger – de 5kgs. Sauf pour la surface de frappe,en multiplie (3 exactement) 3 mm d’paisseur d’oukoum,thailandais slectionn la main,(aucun noeud) teint dans la “masse” acajou. Mensuration (Ht) H 48cm larg 31,5 prof idem,vent arr 17cm, pied en caoutchouc dur de forte section. L’assise est granuleuse pour minimiser la glisse,lorsqu’on joue avec beaucoup d’inclinaison. Le Son… Munie de trois “snare”(timbre) de 20 spires chacune, fixe, (non rglable) il faudras certainement dvisser trs lgrement les cinq vis du haut pour avoir vraiment un son proche caisse clair. L’effet “Subsonic”.BASSE par contre est tout simplement Enorme!! Avec beaucoup de “sustain” du fait galement de la flexibilit par sa minceur, plaque frontal. Pour avoir un son Optimal,jou “dos” au mur, 40,50cm d’un mur.Manucfatur en Thailand,comme tout les produit de percussions Congas,Bongos, toute marque confondus et pas des moindres…Bref… Un MUST!! Spcifique pour la pop acoustique,le Funk, la World,la BossaNova. Je remercie SonoVente pour la rapidit, et ce cot “Pro”. Thanks Amazon…

Great sound .tons of bass .the only thing is the tunable snares. You can't tighten them or loosen them.just the pitch via the 5 screws on top of the face plate.

Good product. Fun to play and easy to learn. Wish it had adjustable feet for height. The pearl logo on front was not done with care. I will probably remove it.All in all for the price,I am happy with it. Not too glad that I paid for expidited shipping and still waited the normal free ground shipping time. That was not cool!
