These bulbs are excellent. I have a couple now, and starting to find fun ways to utilise the colours – beyond the ‘let’s make our bedroom feel sexy’ kinda vibe.
I put one of these bulbs outside my home study, and set a scene for it to go red when I’m on a call so my partner doesn’t walk in to tease me after a shower. And let me tell you that has helped save my marriage AND my career!

Don’t waste your money with any other brand when it comes to smart home lights. Philips are the market leaders and the hue stuff is second to none. Connection is simple and they work. I wish they were cheaper but this is a premium product so you get what you pay for. Totally awesome and superb.

Alles in allem sehr gutes Leuchtmittel. Philips hat da echt die Nase vorn. Aber der Preis ist schon recht hoch. Qualitt und alles andere ist aber sehr gut. Mangels Alternativen wrde ich das Produkt wieder kaufen.

Great Hue bulbs, but be aware of advertised specs
Big fan of the Hue lighting system, and in terms of functionality these bulbs do as expected. Just be aware of the advertised specs. These bulbs are about 1cm longer than the advertised 10.6cm length. Whether or not this is a big deal will depend on the light/lamp where you intend to install them.

I will be buying more for the whole house. I have them in my bedroom at the moment. I walk into a dark room and say ‘alexa turn on the lights’ it’s that simple. They are pricey but worth it.
Worth every penny
I have some trouble with my dimmable wall lights .
However using the Phillips hue light took away the inconvenience, with the added touch of being able change different white colours. All my lights that are interchangeable are Philips hue
Great little bulb
A tad fiddly at the connecting stage (I use this with a Hue Bridge). At first it couldn’t be found, so I had to scan the QR code on the bulb, which is the method I would recommend to those wanting to use this with a bridge. But once connected, it works great! I use the whole set of this a a few other E27 bulbs with HomeKit, so I’m able to turn on and off with voice command via my HomePod mini. The bridge makes the connection very stable because it is wired. I’ve never had any problem. You can also tell Siri to dim it or turn it up to a certain percentage. Would highly recommend if you have a Hue Bridge.
More yellow than white
I love all my Phillips lights have them all upstairs so I bought my bedside light as a Phillips I have a standard white jn 1 and this jn the other jts very yellow not white is the only downside but good quality and does what I need
HUE Gra
Not at all cheap in fact you might need a grant. I bought a ceiling light that requires x6 of these lamps so that’s nearly 75 on light bulbs nearly as much as the fitting. But this is Philips quality. The light output is great (and dimmable) and they are a good fit. If you have a Philips HUE system already you’ll know it’s quite easy to setup. The challenge here is that you want all the lights to work as one not turning on x6 lights individually. It’s actually a pretty simple process. Once you have named each lamp (bulb) you can group them and assign a HUE switch to that group or use the app. If you have square control puck you can also use Apples HomeKit and Siri (the original round one doesn’t have this feature) to control the lights. As an append, I installed most of my HUE system nearly 10years ago now and all the lamps still work, They may be expensive but I’ve been saving energy using LEDs and have the functionality of HUE all this time, so maybe they aren’t bad value despite the initial outlay.
The best purchase
Our light switch is in such an inconvenient place so this has made a world of difference. Annoying that you have ti be really close to the light to control them but I guess if you buy the whole set with the bridge that issue would be eradicated. Makes any light fixture dimmable, which is a major plus

I previously ordered a smart bulb and had all sorts of trouble with wifi networks and apps. This bulb was easy to set up without any need to split wifi channels or buy a hub.

As the title states, these bulbs look beautiful in themselves, although it would be nicer if the bottom black band was smaller. When turned on the produce a very welcoming warm light, perfect a reading room.

Excellent little addition to the Hue range
fit nice and snug in E27 x E14 reducer to make bulb fit into limited space that standard bulb was too large for. One arrived faulty but immediately refunded by Amazon.

Came in damaged packaging
Delivered on time, they’re small enough for small decorative lights, however Amazon’s packaging hadn’t been assembled properly so squashed the box, the bulbs work but not sure if they’re damaged.
Best value in pairs
Easy to install in the Hue app. The golf ball size and model is good when a candle bulb is too long. Best value is buying in pairs.

After some 5hours battling with a cheaper wifi connected bulb, only for it to drop offline after it first connected, I bought this as a replacement. I had the app downloaded, bulb inserted and connected in under 2minutes!! Works exactly as intended straight away. Perfect!

Perfect (sorta)
Perfect in terms of use etc – always get philip hue for my alexa gadgets – but I pre-ordered a pack of two due to no stock but two months later still out of stock but single packs were available! Might have to consider using something else if these sorts of tactics continue – if it was a tactic that is. Could just as well been an oversite.

The lights I bought isn’t as bright as I would like but it was easy to set up and gives a moderate light in the area and a warm light in the table lamp it is in.

Only buy Philips bulbs for your smart home. Tried cheaper alternatives and they don’t compare to how easy the Philips bulbs are to connect and install. With these it’s literally screw them in, turn on and off, search on your Alexa app and your connected. Other brands are more complicated, time consuming and disconnect randomly.
BUY THIS TYPE IT WILL SAVE YOU FROM BRAKING DOWN IN TEARS FROM FRUSTRATION!

Easy to set up with Alexa
Linked straight away to Amazon Show, they do exactly what they are supposed to. One of the bulbs in upstairs and Alexa can turn it on and off from downstairs without any problems.
Excellent Smart Bulb
Works perfectly on place of my wall light candle bulbs and are the same size. Easy to install and configure with Philips Hue App. Also works with HomeKit via a Philips Hue hub (sold Separately). Great range a brightness levels to set mood.
Easy to set up.
I have only set them up via bluetooth, which took about a minute. They are not the brightest and the warm white is quite cosy. Good control from Hue bluetooth App, dimimg, on/off, even scheduling time off and on. would have prefered a cool white but these are twice the price. Other makes avialable but dont seem as reliable. I have no other Hue equipment.

Great product and love how much you can adjust the brightness. The only downside is related to app controls (the wake up “routine” only ends up at fully bright, would be great for it to wake up and end up at half bright)
Fantastic for a smart lighting system
I bought this for my lovely desk lamp, so I could run it with Alexa. Works like a charm. I’ve had it for over a year, no problems. I have another smart lamp (non-PhilipsHue) which I pair this with, also works really well.
It’s a sturdy, well-built lightbulb, easy to use and control with both Alexa and the app and most importantly long-lasting.
They are a bit on the pricier side, but I think they are worthwhile and I see it rather as a long term investment. If you can get them on sale it’s a treat. Also I think it’s slightly wider than a traditional candle style bulb.
I’m planning to buy my own home soon so looking forward to changing all my bulbs to Hue.
Good bulbs
Good bulbs nice and bright and easy to set up on the Hue Bluetooth app. Decided to go with Philip Hue because of its functionalities, ease of use, home integration and the branding. Though these are pricy, it was recommend as they last a very long time and good value for money. And There is something that sets it apart from other smart bulbs out there. I’ll be buying more in the future.
Smart lights working perfectly
Added these lights to my already existing hue hub. Put them in the bedroom and have set up a skill that when I tell my amazon alexa I am going to bed it turns down the heating and puts on these lights. Perfect bedroom lights.
Works great but not properly in touch lamps.
Works as they should. Be nice if the colour was warmer and if you put them in a touch lamp, they don’t work properly. To dim it, you will need to use the app, or Google/Alexa, or Hue accessory switch. Hence why I’ve knocked a star off.

Excellent item, these were purchased for my bedside lights, they are easily installed and Alexa detected them perfectly.

Hue lights are great for smrt lighting at home. However pay attention to the description as those are warm white only dimmable and not the shades of white. Its ok for the space im using it. Would prefer the ambiance with different shades of white.
I’ve bought a couple of smart bulbs on Amazon before – all Chinese brands or something. They all connected fine to my Virgin Media WiFi network, but it was quite a palaver as the setup process for those bulbs often involved turning the bulb on and off for a number of times, having to count the number of seconds they were on and off, using the app to try and search for the bulbs on the network. By the time all that’s done, it took about 10 minutes.
This Philips smart bulb however, is the most user-friendly and easiest to setup. All I had to do was download the Philips Hue Bluetooth app on Google Play, install it, and load the app on my phone. Within seconds, it found my bulb on the network and connected straight away. None of that turning the bulb on and off several times, counting the number of seconds, waiting for the app to find the bulb, which often took minutes. So these Philips bulbs get a vote of 5 stars for me.
I think I’m just going to stick with them for plain coloured bulbs from now on, for light fittings at home that don’t require changing light colours.
For my kids, who prefer colour-changing lights, I bought them some Chinese brand smart bulbs – more troublesome to set up, but works in the end..
Really nice and classy
Fantastic bulb that works really well, I got another set and now I can control most of the lights from my phone, I can change it to night mode if I don’t need a bright light. Easy to install and works well with alexa. Love it.

This range of smart bulbs has really grown over the years and I am not ashamed to admit I have all different types of these bulbs all over my home. Working with both Alexa and Siri, with mad-easy installation, I wouldn’t use anything else. This excellent value pack of twin bulbs is no exception. The much smaller candle bulbs fit two small IKEA lamps we recently purchased and are perfect in the bedroom, giving two cheap products a fantastic upgrade. The light is bright and warm, but not glarey, and worth every penny.

Philips Hue White Smart Candle Bulb Twin Pack LED E14. A nice bulb with above-average brightness compared to other bulbs I’ve had at this wattage.
I’ve had these for some time (about 4 months). The main problem is that they do disconnect from the Echo sometimes, and need unscrewing to reconnect them. It’s not a big deal, but it would be if you’re away from home. Overall, they are very satisfactory.
So I firstly went for the no branded multicoloured wifi bulbs. After 3.5 hours of trying to set them up, I sent them back and gave up. Then I saw these and thought I’d try a couple. And now I have 10 of them. Important things to know, these are white only. They won’t change colour and they won’t change temperature. They seem to have about 10 brightness settings 10%-100% (and off of course).
Also worth noting, these are Bluetooth, not wifi. So they don’t have to be close to your router and when your internet or wifi goes down, you can still turn your lights on.
To install, you just screw the bulb in, I didn’t use the Philips app, I just added a light through the Alexa app. It found it in about 7 seconds and paired straight away. I grouped the lights in the app based on room so I can just say eg “Alexa, turn the landing light off”.
Overall, a bit pricey and I can’t comment on longevity yet. But worth buying over the no brands for a hassle free installation.

Very bright so it’s good that they dim so well. Functionality is great. The only issue was setting them up directly with Alexa – that was a pain and I’m good with tech stuff. I would suggest getting the HUE bridge instead of messing around with pairing with Alexa directly especially if you are planning on buying a few or more of them.
Lesson lea
I foolishly bought some LE wifi bulbs and spent hours swearing and rebuilding my Alexa system after trying to install them. received this Phillips HUE bulb (I have them already for other lamps), plugged it in and hey presto, it pairs. Why can’t other brands build like Phillips do.

I use this in a lamp, I have the bridge and multiple hue bulbs around the house.
I have this lamp bulb paired with a remote that controls two lamps in my living room so that I can easily control both lamps at a touch of a button.
I’ve covered a few of the hue devices in my reviews. There’s three basic types, ‘white’, ‘white ambience’ and ‘white and colour ambience’. If it has a slightly different name it will be an older or newer version of one of these. All the bulbs ‘dim’ and there’s some helpful presets in the Hue app like nightlight, etc. It’s handy if you have a light in a child’s room that you want to turn off at a set time, or turn off remotely. This is the simplest of the Hue bulbs and you could get away with the bluetooth only option with these. You can also purchase a dimming lightswitch for about 15 pounds. How do they compare to the wi-fi based or zigbee based competitors? When it’s just a pure straightforward warm wight, it doesn’t really matter what brand you choose as long as the control and connection is easy and reliable. Once you’re paying under 10.01 a bulb, these are worth a look. Otherwise look elsewhere or go higher up in the hue range for the flagship results.
Shine bright like a diamond!
I have multiple smart bulbs and always feel the Philips Hue bulbs are leagues ahead. The setup is so straightforward using the Alexa app, literally plug and play. The bulb is bright and stays extremely cool and very economical. Using the Alexa app or echo you can control this bulb easily, very responsive. The bulb can also be dimmed which is brilliant.
I couldn’t recommend this product enough. Buy with extreme confidence.
Brighter than other bulbs
Very happy and easy to connect 40 seconds or less and all done better than another brand which required downloading two other apps and turning the lights On and Off every 2 seconds before it connects.
Hue - the most expensive but perhaps the longest lasting smart bulb
This was a replacement for a non-Hue bulb that lasted twelve months. We’ve not had a Philips bulb go yet but have had several non-Philips bulbs stop working. So, we (my son and I) have bitten the bullet and gone 100% Hue bulbs.

If your not to bothered about picking the richness and whiteness of the lights then these are for you. Save yourself a tenner. They’re still Dimmable and Alexa enabled. Predictable Great Philips Quality! Overall great and easy to use!
Great lights - easy to install
I bought this as a present for my mum to go with her Alexa it was Easy to install I had no problems except one of the bulbs didn’t work but I got it replaced quickly without any problems.
Efficient lighting
I like being able to turn my lights on with Echo/Alex as and when needed, or using the smart phone app I can control my lights from anywhere.
No more arriving home to a dark house, or going away and realising you’ve left the lights on, now you can turn them off by using the app.

Cant seem to figure out how to assign different bulbs to separate echo devices though which is irritating. I have 2 lamps and it won’t let me separate the device to control it so I had to name one lamp Greg and the other one is nigel. Wish I could just call them both lamp
Brilliant - fits smaller shades
New smaller shape perfect for lights with an enclosed shade where the old ones were too bulky to fit – as always works perfectly with the hue control/Bluetooth.
Couldn’t be better.
A dawdle. Bought for a lamp with light up base and top. Although with normal bulbs I could switch off the top bulb and just have the base on, I couldn’t have the top bulb on and the bottom one off, which I wanted the choice to do. This fixed that and also made the base bulb dimmable, which I wanted. Turned my fab double bulb lamp into a great rather than a good one. Unplugged lamp, put in bulb and asked Alexa to find it. Powered and dimmable via echo plus zigbee in the kitchen, but operated by the echo dot in the room. No need for a hue bridge or the Bluetooth app here. Fab. I do want more. Just wish they were cheaper.
Was worried about brightness, compared with my 40w candescent bulbs but they are great, if not slightly brighter and a nice warm hue. Good app, easy setup. Beware though – these communicate with your phone app via bluetooth, not WiFi. If you want to use them with Google Home or in conjunction with smart sockets etc, then you will also require the Hue Bridge.
