Immersion total. L’ambiance est magique. Regarder la TV n’est plus pareil. Les lumires hue play offre une immersion total avec la sync box. La connectivit et les rglages sont assez simple l’application hue sync. On peut ajouter autant de l’amour que l’on veut.

Très bon produi Premier achat de la famille Philips Hue. L’clairage est trs sympa derrire un cran c’est vraiment trs agrable et beau.
Au dbut j’entendais un petit sifflement trs agu lorsque je mettais de l’clairage fort et blanc mais le bruit est parti trs rapidement.
L’objectif est maintenant de mettre un ruban led et le boitier sync sur la tl pour un rendu encore plus immersif

Hallo – fr alle die etwas verunsichert sind: von 5 Lampen haben 4 gefiept” (nicht Netzteil, die Lampe – siehe Google) Aber: dies wird verlsslich mit dem Firmware Update 1.93.11 behoben. Jetzt fiept da nix mehr. Also keine Sorgen machen – es ist ein Softwarefehler der mit einem Update behoben ist. Ansonsten schne Lampe fr indirekte Beleuchtung- wo dies gewnscht wird.

El ambiente que me crea en el monitor del ordenador. La integracin con los sistemas ambilight est bien pero no es totalmente satisfactoria, por ejemplo mi placa Rog strix del ordenador permite con el software Armoury Crate de Asus buscar el Puente hue philips e integrarlo en los efectos aura, pero que pasa? pues pasa que entonces si le pongo un efecto de respiracin de colores pues me hace el efecto en todas las luces que tenga conectadas el puente, comedor, salita, la entrada, la cocina, etc y la casa entonces parece la discoteca holidays de Sevilla en los aos 70 as que o compro otro puente solo para las barras y las luces de mi estudio o mejor lo quito. Eso por una parte as que utilizo entonces la aplicacin Philips Hue sync para windows que no se sincroniza con los efectos del ordenador pero si con el sonido o el juego de colores que aparezca en pantalla, eso estara muy bien si no fuera por que con las protecciones DRM de los canales de streaming como Netflix, Prime, Video, Disney+, HBO o discos DVD, Bluray etc.. no funciona la sincronizacin de pantalla y no vale para ver nada que no sea youtube un video grabado por ti y se quedan apagadas as que sincronizas con el sonido y poco ms por lo que se ve con efectos tardos, pobres y que no coincide con lo que se ve en pantalla o te compras el sync box que se salta el DRM y vale un dineral, en fin que estn muy bien como ambientes de colores fijos o cambiantes pero no para sincronizar con otros dispositivos, son caras y con todo esto que he probado no creo que vuelva a comprar ms ya que el software del que se dispone no est pulido pero como lmparas estn muy bie

Lights up my world This fancy pants light is excellent. I’m currently using it in an old, disconnected fireplace to help set *romantic vibes* with my significant other. She was less impressed to begin with, but had to admit felt a little romanticised by the ambiance. Excellent couple of minutes that evening. Back to the light though – it’s very bright and looks great with my other Hue bulbs.
Surprisingly bright and versatile Straight up I have a lot of hue bulbs purchased over a number of years starting when they first came out. They’ve all definitely improved over the years.
I bought the play 2 set on prime day (good deal) to see if it could replace a light strip for output. While the play set are slightly lower lumens they feel comparable to a light strip. The adapter also supports a third unit so adding one more is pretty easy.
They are quite compact too which is also a bonus.
The one thing with all hue stuff is the plugs and the way they make the 3 pin plug orientate in the adapter. Euro 2 pin let’s you put it in either way round in the way. Uk 3 pin not so much. So in the event that you out this in a wall socket (an extension socket would be much less annoying) you get an ugly brick with wires coming out to top rather than downwards, which would feel better.
Now I’m not saying it’s anti uk sentiment post brexit, but c’mon guys. 😉
Worth buying if you’re in the eco system and worth starting with imho if you’re thinking about it.

Ich kann es nicht anders sagen, ich war gestern wirklich beeindruckt beim ersten Test wie gut das funktioniert. Die Immersion beim Spielen durch Hue Sync ist wirklich bombastisch gut und funktioniert in jedem Spiel (im Gegensatz zu z.b. Game Sync von Corsairs ICue) und natrlich auch zum Youtube gucken. Sync mit Desktop App ist vllig unproblematisch und narrensicher mit 2 Klicks luft der Sync und hat bei mir bisher keinerlei Probleme gemacht. Wie stark das System Performance kostet kann ich nicht sagen – zumindest mit einem aktuellen System ist die Auswirkung nicht messbar, zumal es wohl in erster Linie die CPU und nicht die GPU belastet.
Preis und “ist es das wert”
Darber, dass der Preis fr 2 Lampen total irre ist, brauchen wir nicht reden (2 Bars + Hub = 130 Euro im “Angebot”). Aber hier bekommt man weit mehr zustzliche Immersion beim Spielen als durch “eine Detailstufe hher” in irgend einem Spiel. Und sind wir ehrlich: fr eine Detailstufe mehr gibt der geneigte Gamer sonst weit mehr Geld extra aus (Aufpreis xx70 vs. xx80 bzw. “ein Ti dazu”…)
Fazit:
Wenn man “gern zockt” und eine vernnftige Wand hinter dem Monitor hat ist es die Investition definitiv wert. Eine Dritte Lampe steht auf meiner Wunschliste, je eine rechts und links an einem 28 Zoll Monitor liefert schon eine gute Ausstrahlung aber “oben” fehlt gefhlt einfach noch eine (auch hier sind 35-45 Euro fr eine zustzliche LED Lampe die “ohne Hue” vielleicht 10 Euro kostet natrlich vllig …)
Wenn man nicht spielen will: kauft was Anderes !
Es sind Lampen sie knnen …. Leuchten … mit einer (besseren) App als der sehr bescheidenen Original App sogar mit etwas Dynamik und nicht nur einfach bunt. Farben und Leuchtkraft sind top und nicht mit nem China LED Band fr n Zehner vergleichbar.
ABER: Die Dinger fippen
Wer kaltweises krftiges Licht zum ruhigen Arbeiten will wird damit verrckt und kauft bitte was Besseres! (Klingt ca. Spuelfiepen von einer GPU bei extrem hoher FPS…)
Ab ca. 50% Helligkeit ist wei “okay” aber nicht perfekt. Farben fiepen allgemein weniger aber auch nicht vllig lautlos (ich hre allerdings auch sehr gut und bin da sehr sensibel). Eigentlich bei dem Preis ein Unding aber gut beim Spielen hab ich n Headset auf und der PC ist unter Last dann auch definitiv so laut, dass er den Ton verdeckt – zumal man da ja selten kaltwei 100% will. Ich habe wirklich berlegt die Dinger deshalb zurck zu senden… aber in ihrer Kernkompetenz sind sie einfach zu gut.

Worth every penny We use three as a light source for a recessed curtain track. You can control the colours from a handy little app. Great versatility and colour range. More than happy and highly recommended
Works Amazingly While the Philips Hue lights are expensive they work amazing well I now have two play lights and a hue strip and with the recent update with dynamic scenes it adds great atmosphere. I programmed Alexa so the lights come on at Sunset and when we watch a movie I have programmed the lights to go red. The scenes work well. Would recommend but the only downside is the cost, however I suppose you get what you pay for.
Hidden Lighting I have bought a few of these units over the past few months – I really rate them for brightening dark corners or as ambient lights in rooms. The Hue Play can produce a very decent amount of light in lots of colours.
The app is easy to use and you can link all your Philips Hue products easily.

These lights can only be one colour at a time, and as a result don’t have any dynamic effects that are effective at all. This is really disappointing for the money.
Additionally the stands have limited positioning options and are badly designed. You can have the light 3 ways – on the horizontal, facing straight up, on the horizontal to attach to the back of a monitor, or vertically.
The big problem here is that when the stand is attached, there’s not enough relief around the cable, which could cause it to break in the long run.
The bigger problem is, that to use these on a monitor, you have to use the 3M sticky pads (included). Now this would be fine if they gave you extras to reposition if needed (they don’t), but the stand is attached to the light with an Allen key bolt, the 3M tape then goes over this fixing and it’s stuck to the monitor.
This means once it’s stuck on, the only way to change the position of the light (or remove it) is to rip the light off the monitor. You can’t just remove the light from the stand housing.
Once you do this, you got an unusable 3M pad to clean off the stand and monitor casing – and you gotta do this without damaging your monitor
I know I’m being picky, but for charging literally double what other companies charge, I expect the product to be better thought out

Best quality smart lights but pricy Hue for smart lights is simply the best quality if you are willing to pay the asking price. Works flawlessly with the HUE app as well as with alexa & google home.
I created the Northern Lights behind my Christmas tree Ok after Christmas they will be behind the TV… But for now I have a daily Northern Lights show with my Christmas tree.
Impressive home theatre experience I already own 3 play bars, bought the fourth for the bottom part of the TV so I knew what to expect. All I can say is, if you want an immersive experience while watching movies, TV shows or playing video games. You won’t regret buying these, mind you, you will need the sync box and the hue bridge (which are sold separately) for the play bars to sync with the content on your screen. An eye catching addition to any home theatre setup. My warning would be that the ecosystem can be addictive. I started with 3 play bars, now the fourth (which I’m leaving a review for). Got the Phillips hue Argenta spotlight for the living room, they also work in harmony with the play bars, splashing out colours from the TV all over the living room, then another 9 E14s, both coloured and white ambiance. Once you’re in, you’re in.
Great accent ligh These are perfect accent lights for your TV. I have 5 other Philips lights in the room so these add a nice additional touch. They wouldn’t be bright enough alone to have much impact but work nicely in a mix of other lights.
Philips Hue is incredibly easy to set up, it works flawlessly in conjunction with the app.
Regarding TV syncing. This will sync with your TV as long as your laptop is connected to the TV. This is via an HDMI connection lead. The lights need to communicate with the TV via the desktop app and do so like the Philips Hue play box via HDMI. The HDMI sends the picture to your TV and the software on the laptop controls the lights. They do respond to changes on the screen but it’s not a great way of doing things.
I tested it with Squid Game and it works great but there is a degradation in the image going from laptop to TV via HDMI. It isn’t the same as watching the movie as cleanly on the TV. The picture control also then comes from your laptop and you have to adjust your TV accordingly. This light won’t work with just your TV, it will need a laptop connected to it. I wouldn’t set it up again as the impact isn’t particularly something I liked.
The lights are fine as uplights which give a nice glow whilst watching a movie. As I said having them constantly change in line with what is happening on screen isn’t for me.
Bit of a novelty but really good none the less I was wanting these for a very long time but was put off by the price of the bridge and then the lights. I eventually took the plunge and got the whole set and I’m very happy with the setup. I use on the pc so I don’t need the HDMI box. The lights can be synced to sound and to the colour on the screen. I have found it works much better with higher res video as it has more data to sample the colour from. Games are a little underwhelming but I have not played anything with flashy colours as of yet.
So good I have 3 now Easy to connect and set up. Now have 3 for my desktop computer.
Also used as morning lights to wake up too with timers set on a bridge.

Good but…. We have these behind a large tv and they work brilliantly. I then installed a set behind a large monitor, which already had a Hue light strip installed. I find the effect to be good on the monitor, but the light strip is better. However, I’ve had adhesion problems with light strips on monitors and TVs so on balance would take this item over a lightstrip for that application. When using with Huesync (box) and having to run several Hue hubs the app is a bit of a pain to switch so you can control these – but otherwise good
Nice hue to the setup. Always happy with hue products. Already had a set of two so decided to add a third to have one behind each monitor. Really easy to setup and add to my current zone.

Ich benutze die beiden Lightbars als Ambilight fr meinen PC ber dessen Philips Hue Software das Licht fr Filme und Spiele angepasst wird – am TV bentigt man hierfr die massiv berteuerte Hue Sync. Der Preis ist auch mein grter Kritikpunkt und das es sich natrlich nur lohnt wenn man auch etwas damit anzufangen wei, bei mir ist es auch ins Smart Home eingebunden und kann per Sprache gesteuert werden. Ohne die aktive Funktion als Ambilight kann man sich auch etwas gnstiges kaufen. Fr den PC ist es echt okay da es sich preislich noch in Grenzen hlt und auch keine wirklichen Alternativen gibt an Ambilights fr den PC mit Software.
Premium wie Imme Ich hab mir die Zwei gekauft um die Ambiente an meinem Fernseher zu verbessern und diese Qualitt ist Hervorragend.
Helligkeit ist enorm.
Handhabung sehr leicht einstellbar.
Preis-Leistungsverhltnis fr Premium Qualitt muss man eben etwas bezahlen, aber auf jeden fall ist es das Wert.
Nur weiter zu empfehlen!

Da OBBLIGATORIAMENTE abbinare ad i led ed allo switch hdmi della Philips Possiedo il sistema completo Hue Bridge + Hue Led + HDMI Play Sync tutti e tre insieme il prezzo decisamente elevato sono INUTILI se acquistati singolarmente, ma insieme danno un’immedesimazione importante durante il gaming.
Nota dolente l’installazione NON c’ un singolo manuale che ti spiega come installare il tutto ma devi seguire le istruzioni che ti da l’applicazione che ovviamente ti devi cercare TU sul play store del tuo dispositivo. Applicazione che l’unico strumento di controllo per questi dispositivi.
Tirando le somme ottima l’idea ma il prezzo odierno da rivedere

3 sind besser als 2! Ich hatte schon Playbars an einem 27” WQHD-Monitor im Einsatz (hinten angebracht, rechts und links). Dieses Set sollte die Mitte (oben) erweitern.
Es war die absolut richtige Entscheidung, das Set um eine dritte Playbar zu ergnzen. Vorher hatte ich immer eine strende Lcke in der Mitte.
Fantastic, works great with hue sync Have it placed behind my monitor, works great with hue sync. It can get very bright and also works to illuminate me during my meetings while working from home.
PRICEY BUT THE BEST The Philips Hue system is expensive to buy into, but they are quality items.
This lamp can be mounted on it’s stand horizontally or vertically; two additional lamps can be connected to the transformer box, if you want to add more lights.
We use this as a mood light behind the TV, and a single light is plenty bright!
The remote features via the smartphone app are second to none.
Pricey, but superbly brillia I bought the two light Play pack when it was bundled with the Play extension in three light bundle ob offer for 136. It is utterly brilliant and transforms the way you think about lights. It is not cheap but it is well worth it in my opinion.
When I was researching this I took a gamble in how I thought they would work was correct. It turns out I was right and so I repeat these points below to prospective buyers.
1. To get this pack to work you also need a Philips Hue bridge. This small device plugs into your wifi network and the bridge speaks the the Zigbee protocol that the lights use and it “bridges” between wifi protocol that your phone uses and the Zigbee protocol that the lights use. This allows you to change colours etc from the app on your phone or via Amazon Alexa. Without this bridge you cannot do this. Philips sell all manner of lights and you only need ONE bridge per house that can control dozens of lights. So you need to but this bridge. They come in a bundle with the bridge and two Philips Hue white lights for 39. I bought this bundle at the same time as these play lights.
2. The bundle contains ONE power supply that has THREE outputs and this comes with the 2 x lights pack. So this bundle (i.e. the 2x pack of lights PLUS the extension) uses all three of the power supply outputs of the power supply that comes with the 2 x lights pack. Each play light has a 2m power lead. This means the extension has to be used in the vicinity of the two main lights. Philips also make a five meter power extension cable so it can be further away. I also bought this power extension lead. Crazily, Philips do not sell the power supply separately, and only ever provide the PSU with a light. This is madness IMO. Also Philip use a proprietary connector so you cannot make your own cables. I am knocking a mark off of my review score because of this issues of power supplies and cables and for no other reason.
3. All three lights on the pack can be different colours and brightnesses if that’s what you want. They are each completely independently addressable and controllable. If you want to group them together and control them collectively you create a zone in the app and then put the lights in a zone.
All in all I am very impressed. They are beautiful and high quality items. As I said, I dock a mark for the stupid practise of not being able to buy a separate power supply and the crazy price – 15 – of a simple extension cable.

So this bundle (i.e. the 2x pack of lights PLUS the extension) uses all three of the power supply outputs of the power supply that comes with the 2 x lights pack. Each play light has a 2m power lead. This means the extension has to be used in the vicinity of the two main lights. Philips also make a five meter power extension cable so it can be further away. I also bought this power extension lead. Crazily, Philips do not sell the power supply separately, and only ever provide the PSU with a light. This is madness IMO. Also Philip use a proprietary connector so you cannot make your own cables. I am knocking a mark off of my review score because of this issues of power supplies and cables and for no other reason.
3. All three lights on the pack can be different colours and brightnesses if that’s what you want. They are each completely independently addressable and controllable. If you want to group them together and control them collectively you create a zone in the app and then put the lights in a zone.
All in all I am very impressed. They are beautiful and high quality items. As I said, I dock a mark for the stupid practise of not being able to buy a separate power supply and the crazy price – 15 – of a simple extension cable.
Vast array of colours Excellent lighting. I’m particularly happy that Google assistant has discovered the light so I can control it via Google. My echo on the other hand refuses to recognise the lights although it is listed in the Alexa app. Also the hue app is an ideal way of controlling the lights.
Fantastic fun. Bought this to add some colour to my lounge. Works with a Philips Hue hub, easy to set up and produces vibrant colours. I am using it with a free app Lights&Music. Allows me to use my phone to drive the colour change by “listening” to the music I am playing.

Tolles Lichterspiel, jedoch teuer und unüberleg Ich sag gleich dazu, ich habe gleich 2 Doppelsets gekauft. Habe 3 im Hochformat auf meinem Schreibtisch platziert und eine auf meinem Fensterbrett installiert (siehe Fotos 1 und 2). In einem Set sind 2 Leuchten, ein Netzteil mit 3 Steckpltzen, UK und EU Stecker und 2 Flache und 2 Hohe Befestigungen, inklusive Schrauben und Klebepads.
Leuchten sind easy angesteckt und montiert, wer eine HUE Bridge hat, die ich wrmstens empfehle, fgt die Lampen mit 2 Klicks hinzu und hat dann sofort direkte Kontrolle ber die Lampen.
Etwas was mich direkt gestrt hat, weswegen ich einen Stern abziehen ist, ich habe die Lampen absichtlich in wei gekauft und habe eigentlich erwartet, dass diese komplett wei sind, JEDOCH sind die Lampen auf der Rckseite schwarz, und da man meine Lampen an der Vorderseite eh nicht sieht, ist es also vllig egal, welche Farbe man bestellt. Die Halterungen sind ebenfalls schwarz… sehr rgerlich. Der Preis ist ebenfalls sehr hoch, aber das ist man von HUE gewohnt.
Wer Razer Equipment hat darf sich ebenfalls freuen, dass es eine Anbindung zwischen Razer Synapse 3 und der HUE Bridge gibt, es ist somit mglich, die Leuchten an Razer Chroma anzubinden und dadurch auch zu steuern. Dadurch knnen die Rainbow Effekte oder auch Audio Visualiser bertragen werden und das schaut echt genial aus.
Ich werde definitiv weitere kaufen, wrde mir aber wnschen, dass komplett weie Lampen ebenfalls auf den Markt kommen wrden!

Great product a bit pricey This is another great addition to my Hue home lighting. I use a couple with my PC and use the Hue Sync software which works great. I also have a couple one a 65″ TV, but I don’t have the synch box yet as it’s a bit pricey like all of the Hue lighting solutions. Will be picking up a 3rd for the TV as well as 2 isn’t enough for the size of TV. Overall a great product which I recommend.
2nd purchase I bought this as a present for our son-in-law and after having seen it in action I had to have one as well, I love it and very easy to set-up.
Very worth i Brightness is second to none, I use 2 of these as streaming lights and they work really well and are also bright and make for good decor too 🙂
Small, saturated and brigh Like all Philips hue lights, they are 3 times the price they should be, however they just work perfectly every time without hassle and I still give Philips my kidneys for the privilege and will continue to buy hue lights. Why, because I like them!
This was purchased for my kids bedroom, to go one their bunk bed to shed some light when they are reading or sleeping. This works very well.
They are not big, but they are bright enough for most situations, coupled with a few sensors and switches they are perfect.
Setting up was done in a few seconds. My only main concern with spending all this money on smart tech is if they suddenly change the way these work, currently with Zibee but rumours are around regarding Chip or Choip systems in the future.

Ich habe mich nach einer langen Zeit entschieden, ein Produkt von Phillips zu kaufen. Fr mich war es eine lngere Zeit zu berlegen, da man fr Phillips Hue schon ein bisschen mehr Geld zahlen muss. Aber jetzt nach einer Zeit, kann ich nur sagen, dass es keine Fehlentscheidung war. Es macht super viel Spa, die Farben und Funktionen von den Phillips Play zu testen. Das Beste, was ich an den Phillips Play finde, ist es, die Synchronisierung zu nutzen. Es ist kinderleicht, die Synchronisierung zu starten, z. B. ber das Programm am Computer. Es ermglicht eine schne Hintergrundbeleuchtung zum passenden Hintergrund z. B. am Computer beim Netflix schauen. Ich kann nur sagen, dass es sich lohnt, die Phillips Hue Play zu kaufen, allein an den Funktionen, wo diese bieten. Ich finde die Farben sind sehr intensiv und gesttigt. Besser als an anderen Smart-Home Lampen.
Natrlich gibt es einige guten Alternativen, die mithalten knnen. Aber wenn man ein bisschen mehr Geld ausgeben mchte, sollte man unbedingt auf Phillips Hue umsteigen. Diese sind sehr hochwertig verarbeitet und lohnen sich zu kaufen.
Allgemeine Dinge:
Das Produkt kommt super eingepackt und mit verschiedenen Steckern fr andere Lnder. Das ermglicht es, die Lampen auch in anderen Lndern zu nutzen.

Luce uniforme e riposante I sistemi di illuminazione Philips Due non hanno bisogno di presentazioni. Sono sempre stato resto a comprare le luci del sistema Hue per via del loro costo ma grazie ad una offerta a tempo Amazon ho potuto ottenerle ad un prezzo pi ragionevole.
Soddisfatto dell’acquisto e del prodotto che pu essere utilizzato in tantissimi modi, nel mio caso ho migliorato l’illuminazione dello studio posizionandole dietro i monitor, in modo da avere una illuminazione pi adatta per lavorare.
La luce viene diffusa in modo uniforme e si possono impostare combinazioni illimitate di colori e temperatura, sembra una banalit ma impostando tonalit differenti nel corso della giornata si ottiene maggiore confort e meno fatica agli occhi. A differenza di altre lampade, l’impostazione dell’intensit di luce veramente precisa, fino a sfumare a soglie bassissime.
Funzionano con il gateway Zigbee Philips, che era compreso nel kit. Facilissimo da configurare in pochi passaggi, tramite app si possono programmare scene o automatismi, inoltre il sistema Hue si integra alla perfezione con i sistemi di Home Automation come Alexa e Apple Home Kit oltre che open-source, come Home Assistant. Con questa integrazione e qualche linea di codice ho potuto utilizzare le lampade per creare avvisi luminosi, ad esempio un breve lampo rosso per confermare l’accensione del riscaldamento di casa.
Nel mio studio sono posizionate dietro i monitor, le utilizzo anche durante il giorno per migliorare la visibilit e durante le videoconferenze in modo da illuminare il volto con tonalit pi naturali.
Ho posizionato l’hub Zigbee in un locale tecnico, separato da due pareti, il collegamento wireless rimane ugualmente stabile e affidabile, mai perso un colpo.

You will need the Hue Sync box to get it synched with your TV’s content and it’s very expensive but in my opinion if you have already invested in an expensive TV you can make the experience even better with the Hue Play lights.
The setup is fairly easy, you need to connect them to your current Hue hub if you don’t have one then it’s something else that will add up to the costs unfortunately.
You also need to download the Hue Sync app where you can setup your Hue HDMI Sync box and manage the Play bars brightness, intensity etc. Note that the latest update will have to be installed and it took approx 1h for me. It was really frustrating, it’s ridiculous that it takes that long but once installed everything worked flawlessly.
I’ve been using the Play lights for the last 2 days and I absolutely love it. Our TV is already huge but those lights kind of make the screen even bigger! It’s also perfect for bright TVs at night, having more lights help with the eyes, you don’t have to change the TV’s brightness all the time.
The colours match perfectly with what’s on screen and change instantly. I’ve noticed that the lights follow some things moving on screen like a car a night, a lamp torch etc. it’s actually insane, I can’t believe how good it is!
I also got it working with the Harmony remote and no problems so far, everything works well. For those who have it, you have to add a new device called “Philips AV Switch” then add it to your existing activities and set your TV to the HDMI port where the Hue Sync HDMI is plugged then set the HDMI for each device connected to the Hue Sync Box in the Harmony app.
Highly recommended for people who want to upgrade their setup and improve their movie experience.

Hue lamps entertainme The lamps are bright enough for what I wanted. The installation and app sync was trouble free. To get entertainment app to work, Netflix and Amazon Prime was disappointing as it could not detect video signal on Windows 10. It may be designed that way. The hdmi box needed, for movies, for my TV is far too expensive for what it does. It would be great if there was an app for my Sony smart TV. The lamps themselves are a very good addition to the Hue range in any home and watching movies with an app that can use a phone camera can be an alternitave but not ideal.
Great, but not as bright as I’d like. This is a superb light of equal function and quality to all other Hue lamps, with the added bonus of being light and compact enough to stick to the back of a monitor or TV, or hide behind things for ambient lighting.
I wish it were brighter though, that’s my only criticism.
If you’re putting this behind a large TV (40″+) you’ll probably benefit from two. I have it behind a 28″ PC monitor and it’s just about right, but I’d like it brighter.
Calidad suprema En cuanto al producto, es de muy buena calidad y los detalles estn muy cuidados. Los colores y la cantidad de luz que proporcionan es muy buena. Sobre todo en ambientes no muy claros ya que se llega a poder apreciar todo su potencial; aun as con luz solar consiguen destacar. La aplicacin de Hue es una maravilla y se sincroniza perfectamente con Alexa (es necesario tener el Hue Bridge).
Tanto las opciones de montaje en el televisor y los pies para colocarlos en la mesa o de manera horizontal estn muy bien acabados, el adhesivo que se incluye en la caja es de muy buena calidad, pudiendo despegarlo y pegarlo varias veces.
La nica pega que he encontrado es que al sincronizar las luces con el Android TV, para ser una extensin de la televisin en aplicaciones como YouTube funciona sin problema, pero en Netflix, Prime Video no funcionan. La app para sincronizarlas es Hue Stream. Previamente hay que configurar en la aplicacin del mvil un rea de entretenimiento.
Recomendacin personal: En la aplicacin de Hue, existe la seccin Hue Labs donde se pueden encontrar mucho modos diferentes de luz ambiente, simulacin de puesta de sol, … El modo “Cozy home living scenes” es espectacular (luz ambiente), merece la pena probarlo.
La primera vez me llegaron con un dao esttico y el servicio de Amazon me los reemplazo sin ningn problema.

L’ambiance est magique. Regarder la TV n’est plus pareil. Les lumires hue play offre une immersion total avec la sync box. La connectivit et les rglages sont assez simple l’application hue sync. On peut ajouter autant de l’amour que l’on veut.

Premier achat de la famille Philips Hue. L’clairage est trs sympa derrire un cran c’est vraiment trs agrable et beau.
Au dbut j’entendais un petit sifflement trs agu lorsque je mettais de l’clairage fort et blanc mais le bruit est parti trs rapidement.
L’objectif est maintenant de mettre un ruban led et le boitier sync sur la tl pour un rendu encore plus immersif

Hallo – fr alle die etwas verunsichert sind: von 5 Lampen haben 4 gefiept” (nicht Netzteil, die Lampe – siehe Google) Aber: dies wird verlsslich mit dem Firmware Update 1.93.11 behoben. Jetzt fiept da nix mehr. Also keine Sorgen machen – es ist ein Softwarefehler der mit einem Update behoben ist. Ansonsten schne Lampe fr indirekte Beleuchtung- wo dies gewnscht wird.

El ambiente que me crea en el monitor del ordenador.
La integracin con los sistemas ambilight est bien pero no es totalmente satisfactoria, por ejemplo mi placa Rog strix del ordenador permite con el software Armoury Crate de Asus buscar el Puente hue philips e integrarlo en los efectos aura, pero que pasa? pues pasa que entonces si le pongo un efecto de respiracin de colores pues me hace el efecto en todas las luces que tenga conectadas el puente, comedor, salita, la entrada, la cocina, etc y la casa entonces parece la discoteca holidays de Sevilla en los aos 70 as que o compro otro puente solo para las barras y las luces de mi estudio o mejor lo quito. Eso por una parte as que utilizo entonces la aplicacin Philips Hue sync para windows que no se sincroniza con los efectos del ordenador pero si con el sonido o el juego de colores que aparezca en pantalla, eso estara muy bien si no fuera por que con las protecciones DRM de los canales de streaming como Netflix, Prime, Video, Disney+, HBO o discos DVD, Bluray etc.. no funciona la sincronizacin de pantalla y no vale para ver nada que no sea youtube un video grabado por ti y se quedan apagadas as que sincronizas con el sonido y poco ms por lo que se ve con efectos tardos, pobres y que no coincide con lo que se ve en pantalla o te compras el sync box que se salta el DRM y vale un dineral, en fin que estn muy bien como ambientes de colores fijos o cambiantes pero no para sincronizar con otros dispositivos, son caras y con todo esto que he probado no creo que vuelva a comprar ms ya que el software del que se dispone no est pulido pero como lmparas estn muy bie

Lights up my world
This fancy pants light is excellent. I’m currently using it in an old, disconnected fireplace to help set *romantic vibes* with my significant other. She was less impressed to begin with, but had to admit felt a little romanticised by the ambiance. Excellent couple of minutes that evening. Back to the light though – it’s very bright and looks great with my other Hue bulbs.
Surprisingly bright and versatile
Straight up I have a lot of hue bulbs purchased over a number of years starting when they first came out. They’ve all definitely improved over the years.
I bought the play 2 set on prime day (good deal) to see if it could replace a light strip for output. While the play set are slightly lower lumens they feel comparable to a light strip. The adapter also supports a third unit so adding one more is pretty easy.
They are quite compact too which is also a bonus.
The one thing with all hue stuff is the plugs and the way they make the 3 pin plug orientate in the adapter. Euro 2 pin let’s you put it in either way round in the way. Uk 3 pin not so much. So in the event that you out this in a wall socket (an extension socket would be much less annoying) you get an ugly brick with wires coming out to top rather than downwards, which would feel better.
Now I’m not saying it’s anti uk sentiment post brexit, but c’mon guys. 😉
Worth buying if you’re in the eco system and worth starting with imho if you’re thinking about it.

Bei diesen Lampen muss man genau wissen wofr Sie wirklich funktionieren und wofr man sie kauft:

Ich kann es nicht anders sagen, ich war gestern wirklich beeindruckt beim ersten Test wie gut das funktioniert. Die Immersion beim Spielen durch Hue Sync ist wirklich bombastisch gut und funktioniert in jedem Spiel (im Gegensatz zu z.b. Game Sync von Corsairs ICue) und natrlich auch zum Youtube gucken. Sync mit Desktop App ist vllig unproblematisch und narrensicher mit 2 Klicks luft der Sync und hat bei mir bisher keinerlei Probleme gemacht. Wie stark das System Performance kostet kann ich nicht sagen – zumindest mit einem aktuellen System ist die Auswirkung nicht messbar, zumal es wohl in erster Linie die CPU und nicht die GPU belastet.
Preis und “ist es das wert”
Darber, dass der Preis fr 2 Lampen total irre ist, brauchen wir nicht reden (2 Bars + Hub = 130 Euro im “Angebot”). Aber hier bekommt man weit mehr zustzliche Immersion beim Spielen als durch “eine Detailstufe hher” in irgend einem Spiel. Und sind wir ehrlich: fr eine Detailstufe mehr gibt der geneigte Gamer sonst weit mehr Geld extra aus (Aufpreis xx70 vs. xx80 bzw. “ein Ti dazu”…)
Fazit:
Wenn man “gern zockt” und eine vernnftige Wand hinter dem Monitor hat ist es die Investition definitiv wert. Eine Dritte Lampe steht auf meiner Wunschliste, je eine rechts und links an einem 28 Zoll Monitor liefert schon eine gute Ausstrahlung aber “oben” fehlt gefhlt einfach noch eine (auch hier sind 35-45 Euro fr eine zustzliche LED Lampe die “ohne Hue” vielleicht 10 Euro kostet natrlich vllig …)
Wenn man nicht spielen will: kauft was Anderes !
Es sind Lampen sie knnen …. Leuchten … mit einer (besseren) App als der sehr bescheidenen Original App sogar mit etwas Dynamik und nicht nur einfach bunt. Farben und Leuchtkraft sind top und nicht mit nem China LED Band fr n Zehner vergleichbar.
ABER: Die Dinger fippen
Wer kaltweises krftiges Licht zum ruhigen Arbeiten will wird damit verrckt und kauft bitte was Besseres! (Klingt ca. Spuelfiepen von einer GPU bei extrem hoher FPS…)
Ab ca. 50% Helligkeit ist wei “okay” aber nicht perfekt. Farben fiepen allgemein weniger aber auch nicht vllig lautlos (ich hre allerdings auch sehr gut und bin da sehr sensibel). Eigentlich bei dem Preis ein Unding aber gut beim Spielen hab ich n Headset auf und der PC ist unter Last dann auch definitiv so laut, dass er den Ton verdeckt – zumal man da ja selten kaltwei 100% will. Ich habe wirklich berlegt die Dinger deshalb zurck zu senden… aber in ihrer Kernkompetenz sind sie einfach zu gut.

Worth every penny
We use three as a light source for a recessed curtain track. You can control the colours from a handy little app. Great versatility and colour range. More than happy and highly recommended
Works Amazingly
While the Philips Hue lights are expensive they work amazing well I now have two play lights and a hue strip and with the recent update with dynamic scenes it adds great atmosphere. I programmed Alexa so the lights come on at Sunset and when we watch a movie I have programmed the lights to go red. The scenes work well. Would recommend but the only downside is the cost, however I suppose you get what you pay for.
Hidden Lighting
I have bought a few of these units over the past few months – I really rate them for brightening dark corners or as ambient lights in rooms. The Hue Play can produce a very decent amount of light in lots of colours.
The app is easy to use and you can link all your Philips Hue products easily.

Additionally the stands have limited positioning options and are badly designed. You can have the light 3 ways – on the horizontal, facing straight up, on the horizontal to attach to the back of a monitor, or vertically.
The big problem here is that when the stand is attached, there’s not enough relief around the cable, which could cause it to break in the long run.
The bigger problem is, that to use these on a monitor, you have to use the 3M sticky pads (included). Now this would be fine if they gave you extras to reposition if needed (they don’t), but the stand is attached to the light with an Allen key bolt, the 3M tape then goes over this fixing and it’s stuck to the monitor.
This means once it’s stuck on, the only way to change the position of the light (or remove it) is to rip the light off the monitor. You can’t just remove the light from the stand housing.
Once you do this, you got an unusable 3M pad to clean off the stand and monitor casing – and you gotta do this without damaging your monitor
I know I’m being picky, but for charging literally double what other companies charge, I expect the product to be better thought out

I bought three of these to replace the normal table lamps I had in the lounge, now saving on energy and now have the option to turn on and off with voice commands. Worth the upgrade to LED lightning. Definitely recommend!

Best quality smart lights but pricy
Hue for smart lights is simply the best quality if you are willing to pay the asking price. Works flawlessly with the HUE app as well as with alexa & google home.
I created the Northern Lights behind my Christmas tree
Ok after Christmas they will be behind the TV… But for now I have a daily Northern Lights show with my Christmas tree.

These give off a really nice light and when reflected off the ceiling, really do brighten an entire room.
Impressive home theatre experience
I already own 3 play bars, bought the fourth for the bottom part of the TV so I knew what to expect. All I can say is, if you want an immersive experience while watching movies, TV shows or playing video games. You won’t regret buying these, mind you, you will need the sync box and the hue bridge (which are sold separately) for the play bars to sync with the content on your screen. An eye catching addition to any home theatre setup. My warning would be that the ecosystem can be addictive. I started with 3 play bars, now the fourth (which I’m leaving a review for). Got the Phillips hue Argenta spotlight for the living room, they also work in harmony with the play bars, splashing out colours from the TV all over the living room, then another 9 E14s, both coloured and white ambiance. Once you’re in, you’re in.
Great accent ligh
These are perfect accent lights for your TV. I have 5 other Philips lights in the room so these add a nice additional touch. They wouldn’t be bright enough alone to have much impact but work nicely in a mix of other lights.
Philips Hue is incredibly easy to set up, it works flawlessly in conjunction with the app.
Regarding TV syncing. This will sync with your TV as long as your laptop is connected to the TV. This is via an HDMI connection lead. The lights need to communicate with the TV via the desktop app and do so like the Philips Hue play box via HDMI. The HDMI sends the picture to your TV and the software on the laptop controls the lights. They do respond to changes on the screen but it’s not a great way of doing things.
I tested it with Squid Game and it works great but there is a degradation in the image going from laptop to TV via HDMI. It isn’t the same as watching the movie as cleanly on the TV. The picture control also then comes from your laptop and you have to adjust your TV accordingly. This light won’t work with just your TV, it will need a laptop connected to it. I wouldn’t set it up again as the impact isn’t particularly something I liked.
The lights are fine as uplights which give a nice glow whilst watching a movie. As I said having them constantly change in line with what is happening on screen isn’t for me.
Bit of a novelty but really good none the less
I was wanting these for a very long time but was put off by the price of the bridge and then the lights. I eventually took the plunge and got the whole set and I’m very happy with the setup. I use on the pc so I don’t need the HDMI box. The lights can be synced to sound and to the colour on the screen. I have found it works much better with higher res video as it has more data to sample the colour from. Games are a little underwhelming but I have not played anything with flashy colours as of yet.

They look great but they are also very expensive like most hue products, quite bright but not that bright for the price even in my small office room but the colours are great, but they need to have a better stand that allows more that 2 positions, which I found very disappointing like they need a 45 degree angle so u can put the horizontally on the back of ur monitor or the wall so they shine up and are hidde

We have these behind a large tv and they work brilliantly. I then installed a set behind a large monitor, which already had a Hue light strip installed. I find the effect to be good on the monitor, but the light strip is better. However, I’ve had adhesion problems with light strips on monitors and TVs so on balance would take this item over a lightstrip for that application. When using with Huesync (box) and having to run several Hue hubs the app is a bit of a pain to switch so you can control these – but otherwise good

Ich benutze die beiden Lightbars als Ambilight fr meinen PC ber dessen Philips Hue Software das Licht fr Filme und Spiele angepasst wird – am TV bentigt man hierfr die massiv berteuerte Hue Sync. Der Preis ist auch mein grter Kritikpunkt und das es sich natrlich nur lohnt wenn man auch etwas damit anzufangen wei, bei mir ist es auch ins Smart Home eingebunden und kann per Sprache gesteuert werden. Ohne die aktive Funktion als Ambilight kann man sich auch etwas gnstiges kaufen. Fr den PC ist es echt okay da es sich preislich noch in Grenzen hlt und auch keine wirklichen Alternativen gibt an Ambilights fr den PC mit Software.

Nota dolente l’installazione NON c’ un singolo manuale che ti spiega come installare il tutto ma devi seguire le istruzioni che ti da l’applicazione che ovviamente ti devi cercare TU sul play store del tuo dispositivo. Applicazione che l’unico strumento di controllo per questi dispositivi.

Ich hatte schon Playbars an einem 27” WQHD-Monitor im Einsatz (hinten angebracht, rechts und links). Dieses Set sollte die Mitte (oben) erweitern.
Es war die absolut richtige Entscheidung, das Set um eine dritte Playbar zu ergnzen. Vorher hatte ich immer eine strende Lcke in der Mitte.

Fantastic, works great with hue sync
Have it placed behind my monitor, works great with hue sync. It can get very bright and also works to illuminate me during my meetings while working from home.
PRICEY BUT THE BEST
The Philips Hue system is expensive to buy into, but they are quality items.
This lamp can be mounted on it’s stand horizontally or vertically; two additional lamps can be connected to the transformer box, if you want to add more lights.
We use this as a mood light behind the TV, and a single light is plenty bright!
The remote features via the smartphone app are second to none.
I bought the two light Play pack when it was bundled with the Play extension in three light bundle ob offer for 136. It is utterly brilliant and transforms the way you think about lights. It is not cheap but it is well worth it in my opinion.
When I was researching this I took a gamble in how I thought they would work was correct. It turns out I was right and so I repeat these points below to prospective buyers.
1. To get this pack to work you also need a Philips Hue bridge. This small device plugs into your wifi network and the bridge speaks the the Zigbee protocol that the lights use and it “bridges” between wifi protocol that your phone uses and the Zigbee protocol that the lights use. This allows you to change colours etc from the app on your phone or via Amazon Alexa. Without this bridge you cannot do this. Philips sell all manner of lights and you only need ONE bridge per house that can control dozens of lights. So you need to but this bridge. They come in a bundle with the bridge and two Philips Hue white lights for 39. I bought this bundle at the same time as these play lights.
2. The bundle contains ONE power supply that has THREE outputs and this comes with the 2 x lights pack. So this bundle (i.e. the 2x pack of lights PLUS the extension) uses all three of the power supply outputs of the power supply that comes with the 2 x lights pack. Each play light has a 2m power lead. This means the extension has to be used in the vicinity of the two main lights. Philips also make a five meter power extension cable so it can be further away. I also bought this power extension lead. Crazily, Philips do not sell the power supply separately, and only ever provide the PSU with a light. This is madness IMO. Also Philip use a proprietary connector so you cannot make your own cables. I am knocking a mark off of my review score because of this issues of power supplies and cables and for no other reason.
3. All three lights on the pack can be different colours and brightnesses if that’s what you want. They are each completely independently addressable and controllable. If you want to group them together and control them collectively you create a zone in the app and then put the lights in a zone.
All in all I am very impressed. They are beautiful and high quality items. As I said, I dock a mark for the stupid practise of not being able to buy a separate power supply and the crazy price – 15 – of a simple extension cable.

Vast array of colours
Excellent lighting. I’m particularly happy that Google assistant has discovered the light so I can control it via Google. My echo on the other hand refuses to recognise the lights although it is listed in the Alexa app. Also the hue app is an ideal way of controlling the lights.

Bought this to add some colour to my lounge. Works with a Philips Hue hub, easy to set up and produces vibrant colours. I am using it with a free app Lights&Music. Allows me to use my phone to drive the colour change by “listening” to the music I am playing.

Ich sag gleich dazu, ich habe gleich 2 Doppelsets gekauft. Habe 3 im Hochformat auf meinem Schreibtisch platziert und eine auf meinem Fensterbrett installiert (siehe Fotos 1 und 2). In einem Set sind 2 Leuchten, ein Netzteil mit 3 Steckpltzen, UK und EU Stecker und 2 Flache und 2 Hohe Befestigungen, inklusive Schrauben und Klebepads.
Leuchten sind easy angesteckt und montiert, wer eine HUE Bridge hat, die ich wrmstens empfehle, fgt die Lampen mit 2 Klicks hinzu und hat dann sofort direkte Kontrolle ber die Lampen.
Etwas was mich direkt gestrt hat, weswegen ich einen Stern abziehen ist, ich habe die Lampen absichtlich in wei gekauft und habe eigentlich erwartet, dass diese komplett wei sind, JEDOCH sind die Lampen auf der Rckseite schwarz, und da man meine Lampen an der Vorderseite eh nicht sieht, ist es also vllig egal, welche Farbe man bestellt. Die Halterungen sind ebenfalls schwarz… sehr rgerlich. Der Preis ist ebenfalls sehr hoch, aber das ist man von HUE gewohnt.
Wer Razer Equipment hat darf sich ebenfalls freuen, dass es eine Anbindung zwischen Razer Synapse 3 und der HUE Bridge gibt, es ist somit mglich, die Leuchten an Razer Chroma anzubinden und dadurch auch zu steuern. Dadurch knnen die Rainbow Effekte oder auch Audio Visualiser bertragen werden und das schaut echt genial aus.
Ich werde definitiv weitere kaufen, wrde mir aber wnschen, dass komplett weie Lampen ebenfalls auf den Markt kommen wrden!

This is another great addition to my Hue home lighting. I use a couple with my PC and use the Hue Sync software which works great. I also have a couple one a 65″ TV, but I don’t have the synch box yet as it’s a bit pricey like all of the Hue lighting solutions. Will be picking up a 3rd for the TV as well as 2 isn’t enough for the size of TV. Overall a great product which I recommend.

Like all Philips hue lights, they are 3 times the price they should be, however they just work perfectly every time without hassle and I still give Philips my kidneys for the privilege and will continue to buy hue lights. Why, because I like them!
This was purchased for my kids bedroom, to go one their bunk bed to shed some light when they are reading or sleeping. This works very well.
They are not big, but they are bright enough for most situations, coupled with a few sensors and switches they are perfect.
Setting up was done in a few seconds. My only main concern with spending all this money on smart tech is if they suddenly change the way these work, currently with Zibee but rumours are around regarding Chip or Choip systems in the future.
I would recommend these lights for now.

Meine Meinung:
Ich habe mich nach einer langen Zeit entschieden, ein Produkt von Phillips zu kaufen. Fr mich war es eine lngere Zeit zu berlegen, da man fr Phillips Hue schon ein bisschen mehr Geld zahlen muss. Aber jetzt nach einer Zeit, kann ich nur sagen, dass es keine Fehlentscheidung war. Es macht super viel Spa, die Farben und Funktionen von den Phillips Play zu testen. Das Beste, was ich an den Phillips Play finde, ist es, die Synchronisierung zu nutzen. Es ist kinderleicht, die Synchronisierung zu starten, z. B. ber das Programm am Computer. Es ermglicht eine schne Hintergrundbeleuchtung zum passenden Hintergrund z. B. am Computer beim Netflix schauen. Ich kann nur sagen, dass es sich lohnt, die Phillips Hue Play zu kaufen, allein an den Funktionen, wo diese bieten. Ich finde die Farben sind sehr intensiv und gesttigt. Besser als an anderen Smart-Home Lampen.
Natrlich gibt es einige guten Alternativen, die mithalten knnen. Aber wenn man ein bisschen mehr Geld ausgeben mchte, sollte man unbedingt auf Phillips Hue umsteigen. Diese sind sehr hochwertig verarbeitet und lohnen sich zu kaufen.
Allgemeine Dinge:
Das Produkt kommt super eingepackt und mit verschiedenen Steckern fr andere Lnder. Das ermglicht es, die Lampen auch in anderen Lndern zu nutzen.
Ich kann es nur jedem weiterempfehlen, diese Lampen zu kaufen.

Luce uniforme e riposante
I sistemi di illuminazione Philips Due non hanno bisogno di presentazioni. Sono sempre stato resto a comprare le luci del sistema Hue per via del loro costo ma grazie ad una offerta a tempo Amazon ho potuto ottenerle ad un prezzo pi ragionevole.
Soddisfatto dell’acquisto e del prodotto che pu essere utilizzato in tantissimi modi, nel mio caso ho migliorato l’illuminazione dello studio posizionandole dietro i monitor, in modo da avere una illuminazione pi adatta per lavorare.
La luce viene diffusa in modo uniforme e si possono impostare combinazioni illimitate di colori e temperatura, sembra una banalit ma impostando tonalit differenti nel corso della giornata si ottiene maggiore confort e meno fatica agli occhi. A differenza di altre lampade, l’impostazione dell’intensit di luce veramente precisa, fino a sfumare a soglie bassissime.
Funzionano con il gateway Zigbee Philips, che era compreso nel kit. Facilissimo da configurare in pochi passaggi, tramite app si possono programmare scene o automatismi, inoltre il sistema Hue si integra alla perfezione con i sistemi di Home Automation come Alexa e Apple Home Kit oltre che open-source, come Home Assistant. Con questa integrazione e qualche linea di codice ho potuto utilizzare le lampade per creare avvisi luminosi, ad esempio un breve lampo rosso per confermare l’accensione del riscaldamento di casa.
Nel mio studio sono posizionate dietro i monitor, le utilizzo anche durante il giorno per migliorare la visibilit e durante le videoconferenze in modo da illuminare il volto con tonalit pi naturali.
Ho posizionato l’hub Zigbee in un locale tecnico, separato da due pareti, il collegamento wireless rimane ugualmente stabile e affidabile, mai perso un colpo.
Lovely lights
Love these lights… Shame about the price Philips set them at, but they are good quality.
I bought my first OLED TV recently, the new LG CX and decided to get those Hue Play bars after seeing some videos on YouTube and Reddit, I thought it looked really cool.
You will need the Hue Sync box to get it synched with your TV’s content and it’s very expensive but in my opinion if you have already invested in an expensive TV you can make the experience even better with the Hue Play lights.
The setup is fairly easy, you need to connect them to your current Hue hub if you don’t have one then it’s something else that will add up to the costs unfortunately.
You also need to download the Hue Sync app where you can setup your Hue HDMI Sync box and manage the Play bars brightness, intensity etc. Note that the latest update will have to be installed and it took approx 1h for me. It was really frustrating, it’s ridiculous that it takes that long but once installed everything worked flawlessly.
I’ve been using the Play lights for the last 2 days and I absolutely love it. Our TV is already huge but those lights kind of make the screen even bigger! It’s also perfect for bright TVs at night, having more lights help with the eyes, you don’t have to change the TV’s brightness all the time.
The colours match perfectly with what’s on screen and change instantly. I’ve noticed that the lights follow some things moving on screen like a car a night, a lamp torch etc. it’s actually insane, I can’t believe how good it is!
I also got it working with the Harmony remote and no problems so far, everything works well. For those who have it, you have to add a new device called “Philips AV Switch” then add it to your existing activities and set your TV to the HDMI port where the Hue Sync HDMI is plugged then set the HDMI for each device connected to the Hue Sync Box in the Harmony app.
Highly recommended for people who want to upgrade their setup and improve their movie experience.
My current setup is:
– LG CX Oled 55″
– 3 Hue Play Bars (Left, Right and Top)
– Hue HDMI Sync Box
– Harmony Ultimate Remote
Pros:
– Improve cinema experience
– Colours are beautiful, changing perfectly according to what’s on screen
– Easy and quick to setup
– HDR / Dolby Vision (fixed via firmware update recently) compatible
Cons:
– Expensive
– Fairly small bars. Some people with bigger screens might need more than 3 Play bars (that said don’t underestimate their size, these things can get very bright)

Hue lamps entertainme
The lamps are bright enough for what I wanted. The installation and app sync was trouble free. To get entertainment app to work, Netflix and Amazon Prime was disappointing as it could not detect video signal on Windows 10. It may be designed that way. The hdmi box needed, for movies, for my TV is far too expensive for what it does. It would be great if there was an app for my Sony smart TV. The lamps themselves are a very good addition to the Hue range in any home and watching movies with an app that can use a phone camera can be an alternitave but not ideal.
Amazing Lighting, Appalling Price
It’s exactly what it says. It’s amazing.
But – for a dispensable fixture like this (you can’t do anything ones their LED is out, the price is ridiculously and prohibitively high.
Great, but not as bright as I’d like.
This is a superb light of equal function and quality to all other Hue lamps, with the added bonus of being light and compact enough to stick to the back of a monitor or TV, or hide behind things for ambient lighting.
I wish it were brighter though, that’s my only criticism.
If you’re putting this behind a large TV (40″+) you’ll probably benefit from two. I have it behind a 28″ PC monitor and it’s just about right, but I’d like it brighter.
Calidad suprema
En cuanto al producto, es de muy buena calidad y los detalles estn muy cuidados. Los colores y la cantidad de luz que proporcionan es muy buena. Sobre todo en ambientes no muy claros ya que se llega a poder apreciar todo su potencial; aun as con luz solar consiguen destacar. La aplicacin de Hue es una maravilla y se sincroniza perfectamente con Alexa (es necesario tener el Hue Bridge).
Tanto las opciones de montaje en el televisor y los pies para colocarlos en la mesa o de manera horizontal estn muy bien acabados, el adhesivo que se incluye en la caja es de muy buena calidad, pudiendo despegarlo y pegarlo varias veces.
La nica pega que he encontrado es que al sincronizar las luces con el Android TV, para ser una extensin de la televisin en aplicaciones como YouTube funciona sin problema, pero en Netflix, Prime Video no funcionan. La app para sincronizarlas es Hue Stream. Previamente hay que configurar en la aplicacin del mvil un rea de entretenimiento.
Recomendacin personal: En la aplicacin de Hue, existe la seccin Hue Labs donde se pueden encontrar mucho modos diferentes de luz ambiente, simulacin de puesta de sol, … El modo “Cozy home living scenes” es espectacular (luz ambiente), merece la pena probarlo.
La primera vez me llegaron con un dao esttico y el servicio de Amazon me los reemplazo sin ningn problema.

I bought it to mount it on top of my screen so I can use it to lighten my face when videocalling. It works great! Since the light is spread across the bar, it doesn’t blind you while still having a source of light directly pointing at you.
