Amazing!!
I have had Krakens since they first came out and I haven’t had another headset since. There is generally nothing I can fault about these, also the pink is so cute I even got the ears to match
Cute~
They’re really cute! Got them whilst they were on sale I wouldn’t recommend buying full price. They’re comfortable and very cute, good for gaming but the mic quality isn’t that great and the wire is a tad bit annoying curling up so just be aware of that 🙂
A safe purchase won't regret it.
I hasitated which one to order out of 15 different kinds of headphones but I couldn’t be more satisfied. This is far the best headphones I have ever had. The sound quality is brilliant it’s just so load I can’t go above 60% but don’t even have to (yet haha) the vibrating function gives such an amazing experience in all sort of video games. I definitely recommend it if you looking for a decent headphones for gaming.
Best headset i have owned
This headset is great for gaming, i brought it to replace a turtle beach headset which i had which required charging. This head set plugs straight into the controller. The quality of the sound is fantastic and its easy to control the functions of the headset with the dials and switches on the cable. The headset is incredibly comfortable for prolonged use.
these are amazing!
first of all would just want to say that the bass on these are outstanding! music plays very well!
mic works perfectly! it’s great that you can move/ bend it in any direction you wish.
the quality itself is 10/10. loving the pink/ grey. feels somewhat heavy and expensive. i like how the lights light up whenever you want them to come on!
i recommend this headset – compatible for xbox series x.
noise cancellation 10/10 – cannot hear a thing, not even my self sing which is great.
this is so much better than all of the other head sets i have used and gone through in the past.
definitely worth the money!
Headset review
Got this headset 2 weeks ago, sound quality is very good as well as comfort. I do have one problem I’m not sure why but it makes my ears really itchy as well as my head around the leather foam ring around the ears, unlike the turtle beach I had. Good for the price though sure it will break eventually like all my others
Awesome sound quality
My son loves these headphones for his gaming pc.. sound quality is amazing and they are super comfortable..Noise cancelling brilliant he can’t hear any outside noise at all..Would definitely recommend..
I have been a proud owner of the Razer Kraken X gaming headset for over three years now, and it has been an absolute game-changer in every sense of the word. From its exceptional audio quality to its comfortable design, this headset has remained a steadfast companion throughout countless gaming sessions. As an avid gamer, I cannot help but give this product a well-deserved and candid 5-star review.
One of the standout features of the Razer Kraken X is its 7.1 surround sound software. This technology has undoubtedly elevated my gaming experience, providing me with clear and precise position-dependent sound. Whether I’m engaging in intense battles or sneaking through stealthy missions, the ability to recognize the direction of in-game sounds has proven invaluable. It truly feels like I’m right in the middle of the action, immersed in the virtual world.
Comfort is paramount during long gaming sessions, and the Razer Kraken X delivers in spades. The soft headband padding has effectively reduced pressure on my head, ensuring that I can wear the headset for hours without discomfort or strain. The adjustable headband allows for a perfect fit, preventing any slipping or readjustments during gameplay. Moreover, the lightweight design, weighing in at only 250g, makes the headset almost unnoticeable on my head, which is a blessing during marathon gaming sessions.
The oval ear cushions, made of memory foam, are a testament to Razer’s commitment to comfort. They provide a plush and cozy fit, perfectly molding around my ears to create a noise-isolating experience that enhances my immersion in the gaming world. I can hear even the most subtle audio cues, enhancing my ability to react swiftly to in-game events.
In terms of audio performance, the 40mm custom-tuned drivers in the Razer Kraken X deliver a clear and balanced sound that is second to none. From the thunderous explosions of warfare to the delicate footsteps of stealthy enemies, this headset ensures that every sound detail is captured with impressive clarity. The audio quality remains top-notch even after years of use, proving the durability and consistency of this fantastic gaming gear.
The bendable cardioid microphone is a standout feature of the Razer Kraken X. Its flexibility allows me to position it close to my mouth, ensuring crystal-clear communication with my teammates during multiplayer matches. The microphone effectively filters out background noise, ensuring that my voice comes through loud and clear, making teamwork seamless and effortless.
Over the years, I have put the Razer Kraken X through rigorous gaming sessions, and it has withstood the test of time without losing its impressive performance. The build quality has proven to be robust and reliable, and the headset continues to function flawlessly.
If I were to nitpick, I could mention that the 3.5mm connection might not be as convenient as a wireless option, especially for those who prioritize freedom of movement. However, this is a minor concern compared to the overall excellence of the Razer Kraken X.
In conclusion, the Razer Kraken X has been an unbeatable gaming companion for over three years. Its 7.1 surround sound software, comfortable design, and clear audio performance make it an essential piece of gaming gear. Whether you’re a casual gamer or a hardcore enthusiast, this headset will undoubtedly enhance your gaming experience. If you’re in the market for a reliable, comfortable, and high-performing gaming headset, the Razer Kraken X is an excellent choice that will not disappoint.
Absolutely great headset, does the job and it’s clear on sound and with the mic to. Use it for gaming on my laptop and never had given me any problems, also use it with Xbox and again no issues. Would recommend
5 stars
use this every day for my computer comes with adapters and works on both xbox and pc. there’s a mute button on the headset and volume control both have been very useful
Amazing
Bought this for my x box but then relised its not compatible but i love it so much i just kept it. The hypersense feture is what made me keep them it gives depth to music that normal headphones don’t achieve
price gone up by £20
bought these for 35quid and was impressed, lightweight, sound is good not bad. Plug them into a playstation and the sound isn’t as good. not worth 50gbp imo
Long lasting
I’ve had these for two years and the build quality is very solid. They still function perfectly and feel comfortable.
Great durability - had them for 2 years and they work as good as ever!!
Incredibly comfortable and lightweight, fantastic sound, mic quality is exceptional, , muffs are slightly worn but to be expected. Would recommend!!
Great upgrade
I was a bit weary of buying these because I’d never really heard much about Razer headsets. Everyone I knew was always going on about Turtle Beach so I kind of just stuck with them for a number of years. Sadly my last four Turtle Beach headsets all stopped working within a matter of months so I started looking at alternatives… I was immediately attracted to the green Kraken ones because I’ve always loved how green and black go so well together (thank you Original Xbox!) and I’d be lying if I said they weren’t the main reason I bought them!
These Kraken’s have been great! The sound quality is brilliant, the build quality is excellent and did I mention they are GREEN?!?! The only thing I would change if I could was to provide more ventilation around the ears as I find the padding is a bit too thick in the summer resulting in me getting quite warm quite quickly!
Razer Kraken Ultimate
1. Great surroundings sound quality very good for gaming.
2. Perfect material containing a wide range of natural design
3. Excellent service when arriving on time, I mean it’s expensive product but definitely worth it
4. I’d recommend buying it again for another device or something else in particular like PC, perhaps a gaming console
I love these headphones
These headphones are one of the best purchases I have made. I use these headphones everyday and have had nothing but crystal clear audio and mic quality with them. The setup is easy being no more complicated than plug and play. Razer themselves also have an amazing software to easily control these headphones. In comparison to similar ones on the market they are also significantly cheaper. I would highly recommend these headphones to anyone looking for a new pai
Love these
I use them for gaming and streaming on my PS4. I like that the plug is at a 90 degree angle preventing it from getting in the way or bending. The cooling pads are so great and sound quality is also very good for the headphones and the Mic.
Just overall very comfortable to wear for many hours as they cover my entire ears too. I would certainly recommend these.
I love this headse
I’ve used this headset for almost a year and it is worth the money, the only thing I don’t like is how the wire twists around itself. But overall its pretty good.
Couldn’t be happie
I love this headset, I have this for my pc so I thought why not get for console gaming as well, like I said I love this headset, I bought the green I would of liked the white or pink but I still love it no matter the colour and the green looks good with the Xbox and PlayStatio
Good sound but bad quality
I’ve had this product since November 2022. It’s now March 2023 and the cushioning has started to come away from the headset. At the time it was in the sale for 25 however it’s now at 35+ and I do not recommend it. For a little bit more you could get one that’ll last a lot longer than 4 months. It’s comfy and has good sound but the build quality lets it down unfortunately.
Good overall headse
Bought this as a replacement to my recently broken Razer Nari Ultimate headset and overall it’s been a good purchase so far. The headset is much lighter than a lot of other Razer headsets, while this takes some getting used to is ultimately a nice bonus, and is built quite robustly so I can imagine it being somewhat resistant to breakage. Sound quality is good and the wireless range on the product is excellent, easily enough range to extend across several walls/floors without compromise on sound quality. There are a few things which let it down somewhat however. I don’t think I have an abnormally large head but even on the most extended setting it only just about fit when new out of the box (something to consider if this is an issue you have with other headsets) and doesn’t have much leeway in the frame for, if like me, you like to keep one earcup off slightly. This problem is exaggerated as the earcups do a really good job of cancelling outside noise, which for some people (such as me) isn’t desirable. Additionally, there isn’t any convenient place (on my previous headset there was a slot in the headset itself) to store the wireless transmitter for transport, which can be somewhat inconvenient if you’re travelling. Overall, it’s definitely worth buying if you’re looking for a decent headset, but be wary of the things I’ve mentioned and maybe look for an alternative if these things would bother you.
Amazing headset wire can be annoying
This headset is great sound is the best ive ever heard and I sound better on others mics however the wire that needs to be plugged in means I can’t charge my controller and have the headset in at the same time on the ps5 it’s a small issue and it’s more of a PS5 problem but overall the headset is amazing can’t recommend it enough.
Great headphones
Bought for my son for his xbox. He said they are very comfortable and the sound quality is great.
The mic is awful
Microphone doesnt pick anything up short of a jet engine
Cute
Too lazy but its nice but idk i feel like there r better options idk cuz its my first headphones:0000
Great for long meetings as they have a cutout in the earpiece for glasses and a cooling gel earpeice that stays cool for a while.
Only gripe is the cable is quite short so best remember to take them of when you get up.
I was looking for headphones that I could use for both work (Teams calls) and for gaming, whilst reflecting my love of all things Kawaii, so after going through a couple of other brands and being disappointed, I decided to give these a go.
I wasn’t expecting much from the work side, as my Microsoft surface pro given by work, is notoriously rubbish at handling Bluetooth headphones. Many users will know of having to deal with random disconnections, crackling sound, poor audio etc. However this is the only Bluetooth headset that my laptop seems to work in sync with. It paired instantly with my laptop, and fingers crossed has not disconnected so far. The sound is loud and clear, and after asking for feedback about how I sounded using the microphone, I was told that I sounded loud and clear. So very impressed.
I’m a sucker for RGB and I like that I am able to customise the lighting (plus sound elements of the headphones such as increasing bass etc) from the apps on my phone. The RBG modes all work well, and like that I can change these quick and easily.
One of the other main factors for me is comfort. Having meetings which can be an hour or longer, means with some headphones I have had before, they start to press on my ears or head, and cause discomfort. These however are a joy to wear. They are lightweight, very soft around the ears and from an aesthetic point of view, not so bulky looking, as some headphones can look a bit large!
Watching films and programmes through various apps and online gives an equally enjoyable experience, as does using it with my phone. I did find that listening to some music in a standard mode, that it was lacking in bass, but changing the settings simply to add bass or treble etc, sorts that out quickly, so please do have a play around with the audio app, if you find music sounding a bit lacklustre to your liking.
I have not yet tried these for gaming, so I am unable to make a comment on that aspect, but I am hoping that they will continue to work well for that too.
got these to replace a cheap off-brand headset as they were relatively priced and matched my set up ^^ they’re comfortable to wear for long periods of time however they’re quite heavy but it’s easy enough to get used to. they’re also quite bulky but i personally don’t mind. i use them on the smallest setting but they’re adjustable to different sizes, the sound quality isn’t too bad despite other reviews and the noise cancellation is great. the mic quality is also v good which is great for comms! both the headset and the packaging came in perfect condition too. i would highly recommend 🙂
I wanted to test this product out for a few months before I made a review as I went through hundreds and hundreds of reviews myself before making the decision to buy this one.
First off-the box it came in felt premium quality. The way it was packaged. Just beautiful.
The headset is really chunky. But I love that. It feels like a sturdy headset.
The cooling gel on the ear pieces never makes your head warm. It’s super super comfortable to wear! Any other headset used to make the top of my head ridiculously sore! And I wear glasses. This headset I’ve worn for hours on end and my head never gets sore and I can wear glasses and it doesn’t hurt the side of my head!
My friends can hear me so much better now. However occasionally it likes to not pick up my speaking in which case I pull the microphone out closer to my mouth if needed. The mic, you can conveniently slide in and out of the headset.
Only down side is, sometimes my friends can hear what’s happening in my game/can hear my music if I play it too loud. Slightly annoying but it is what it is.
The headband is adjustable also!
Overall I love the feel of this headset and it’s brilliant.
ice sound positionig ,tracing enemy in MW BO, Enlisted, or any other FPS game seems right. Music – just get some amplifier and DT-990 🙂 Fragile cables, i think they wont last long but its just a prediction, No USB connectivity – can be plugged to xbox controller – wich is bad for PC users. Overall itst really good – for the price.
Difficult to connect to adjust colours
So these are adorable, and the sound isn’t too bad considering they’re kind of gimmicky. They block sound out quite well, can’t hear a damn thing with em on. My neighbours have noisy kids so this is a plus when WFH.
There are a few EQ settings and you can also play with a custom setting (which is what I’m using). I am using these more for music and work than gaming atm so can’t really comment on their suitability for that. I just wanted to look cute in the office and on Teams calls, lol.
Easy to connect to bluetooth for audio. Absolute NIGHTMARE trying to connect to adjust the EQ and colours of the lights. No matter what I did, synapse on PC never picked up the headset at all, whether I used the cable or connected via Bluetooth. On android, too, neither the sound nor RGB apps could find it under kitty BT (the sound app DID connect when I selected the hello kitty version, for some reason).
Finally, I tried my old iPad and it finally paired! I could select any colour and adjust the brightness. It saves the setting so it keeps it when connected to my other devices. Weirdly, after I got it to work on my iPad, my android RGB app can suddenly find it, so now I can manage everything from my phone.
Bit of hassle and faffing, it’s not user friendly in the slightest. I spent all day googling and trying different things before I thought to try the iPad. Try different devices if your first one can’t connect.
Having owned Razer headphones in the past I decided to buy Razer again and I am happy with my decision. This is a good headset if you don’t want to spend too much money, however I would hold on for a more expensive headset as the quality, whilst good, is not outstanding. My main problem with this headset is the microphone, the quality is not very good and it is also not retractable, which means it can be a bit of a nuisance at times. There is also no remote, the volume level adjuster and mic on/off button is on the back of the left cup, I would personally prefer a remote as reaching to the back of the left cup is somewhat of an inconvenience. Sound quality is good, but not amazing; there are no interesting features like THX Synapse on the costlier Razer headsets.
Overall, a good headset on a budget, but if I could go back in time I think I would have opted for one of Razer’s more expensive offerings.
Not tested with other games as I’m new to this genre, but surprisingly good with fortnite. They really do deliver surround sound performance, which you need in role play games like this.
Set up was a pain, but I got there eventually. But then I’m new to this sort of stuff. Not sure that I’m using the full range of features that come with the package, but they do what I need them to do.
Great, better with some tweaking!
One thing I found about these headphones is using them on computer the included splitter can make the sound muffled. I switched the splitter for one I found on here and it cleared them right up. Not sure if it’s designed to do that but I tried it on my Xbox One S and noticed without the splitter plugged straight into my controller, it was clear as day. I think it was the splitter that came with mine that made it muffled on computer where the microphone jack and the headphone jack is separate which I imagine is the case with most desktop computers. Might and probably is different for laptops and other platforms but on my desktop computer this fixed it for me.
The equalizer is also worth messing with as it can be warm for some sorts of music or maybe it’s just right for you. It’s all down to personal taste really. I included a image of an equalizer setting I found pretty good for listening to music on these headphones but it is worth messing with yours to see what sounds better for the type of music or general use you use with yours. Needless to say this is all subjective and there is no “Right” way to do this.
As for the microphone it seems to work just fine and doesn’t seem to suffer from what the USB microphones usually suffer with ( A low hissing sound ). Can’t say I’ve had much use with it yet but I have used online mic testers and it works well.
Over all I think the build quality of this headset it’s a pretty sturdy bit of kit this. I wouldn’t go throwing it at windows that’s for sure otherwise it won’t be a window for much longer I imagine! Comfortable too, was playing online earlier and didn’t have any discomfort from wearing these headset.
Not for the money for a high end gaming headset look no further great sounds and Ingame controls along side its extra bass functions and sound balance control.very good headset overall
hese things are very cosy
sound quality: 7/10
build quality: 9/10
comfort: 9.5/10
for gaming: 8.5/10
i recommend these, but the sound quality is just a little bit underwhelming
other than that, they are very comfy and good for gaming
overall rating: 8.5/10
The head set is great value for money it’s been a few months and everything is good with one caveat being the wire, it just seems to get tangled for no reason and it can’t be straightened which is annoying.
Right first off I love the colours, the metel here and there, the soft cushion like ear rests, and the nice materialized wire, it appears most effort was put into appearance and comfort. Then we have the sound. It’s very good I’ll admit however I got some no make random gaming headsets for 10 and the sound quality was somehow better than these. So though I like the Krakans, I’m a little disappointed they are not better sound quality however they will be perfect for you as a gamer, especially with the cooling gell inside the ear rests so your ears don’t warm up too much. Which mine used to do.
It’s got a good weight to it. You look like a professional gamer, and all round they are a very good pair of headsets.
Would I recommend these to others, yes I would, and I have bought one for myself and for my best friend for his Xmas and he loves them.
Disclaimer: bought as an Amazon return product, but listed as in perfect working condition.
The headphones are great, really clear audio and high quality. It’s plastic but.if.you are gentle and don’t go smashing it around it will last.
The microphone is useless. Every time I plug it in and test it, you can clearly hear all my audio from my PC being fed back in. I have tried multiple splitters, jacks, drivers and more to no avail. I believe its just bust, but I had a headset microphone available that I stuck to the side.of the headphones and they work fine.
Splitter is also quite flimsy, but it works and hasn’t broken with use for over a year now.
Buy for the headphones, not the mic. Recommended.
The sound adjust function on this headset is not functioning when connected to PS5(it worked on PC though). Because the adjust function is not implemented by change the level of current, but sending command of turning down sound to the device, and PS5 can’t change sound level using this command.
However, the sound quality and comfort are nice.
I like this headset. The cooling gel in the ear cushions is nice and still works even now that Iv had the set for a while. The sound quality is excellent and the mic is really good, my friends have told me I sound clear. The one and only criticism I have and it’s nothing major is that the set is slightly loose on my head so if I look down the set slowly slides and would likely slide off but being as they are for gaming you very rarely lower your head as your usually facing the screen ! I use these for the PS4.
Nearly didn’t purchase these because of bad reviews but for the money they are really good. The noise cancelling cups are of a great standard. The build quality and look is excellent. The only thing I’d say, this is my 4th headset along the years and this one has the most flimsiest head strap but as long as you don’t over stretch them I think they will be fine. No offence but there is a guy that has posted a picture of him wearing the headset and complaining that the head strap had cracked, yet again no offence but he has a very large head and I don’t think this headset stood a chance
The Kraken V3 continues the trend of the previous generations but really nails it this time. The sound is beautiful, very impressive responsiveness across the range, whether its hearing every instrument of a song balanced amazingly or every detail of whats going on in a game, it effortlessly lets you experience it all.
So haptics on headphones may seem potentially unnecessary, however, it’s honestly a great experience. I can understand that to some people it might be a bit much if you are hyper sensitive to vibrations but even then the lowest setting might work for you, but for me it set to medium is the sweetspot. Feeling the bass in songs and the beat of drums makes it feel much more real, like you’re actually there with all the noise pulsing through your body, and feeling the shockwave of explosions or the rumble of a car engine is definitely something to experience. I’ve briefly had to go back to another pair of headphones (simply to play games on another device and i didnt feel like setting up the kraken on it, even tho its basically instant if you already have razer synapse installed) and i found myself really missing the haptics even more so than the THX spacial audio which made my other headphones sound dull. To sum up about the haptics, they add an extra edge of immersion into whatever content you are experiencing and it’s so satisfying but you’ll miss it if you have to go without it for even a minute.
Now the last of what i consider to be the three most important factors of a headset, comfort. Now, I’m not the biggest fan of round headphone cups, but honestly these are the most comfortable ones I’ve tried, it still feels strange to me (as I have mainly used rectangular for many years) but it’s definitely comfortable the many hours I’ve had the kraken on. It doesnt make your ears overheat and the cups are soft yet supportive. Only issue I have is there’s less clamping pressure than I’m used to and due to the circular shape, if i tilt my head completely down, the headphones slip and rest on the back of my ears, feeling as if they’ll fall of with some average energy head shaking, but I may just be spoiled with my previous rectangular headphones which feel sturdy no matter what which made them feel more comfortable just because I could do anything and not worry about them falling off. I have the same issue with all round headphones I’ve tried, so if you don’t have an issue with others, you wont with this because this is noticeably better than others to me.
Overall, the Kraken V3 with hypersense is an absolutely amazing set of headphones, amazing quality, innovation in the amazingly tuned haptics, and decent price below what I’d consider matching level headphones from competitors. Of course they’re not the best headphones in existence, as if you spend a couple to many times the price you’re likely to get better clarity and surround sound from headphones with five or so speakers per ear, but you cant get much better in the same price range, if you can find anything better anyway.
And to actually finish, in a place most people skip to read, best headphones for price, will probably last forever like my older Razer Electra V2. Only issue is its microphone is great for picking up voice no matter the surroundings, but it still sounds like “a high quality game chat”, and is a bit worse than my electra, so perfect for game chat, mediocre for talking to friends or in meetings, and definitely wouldn’t use for streaming or making content of any sort.
So I didn’t notice any noise cancellation on a software level but the headset is very comfortable and it’s lightness probably contributes a lot to that.
It comes with a 7.1 surround sound card that on PC really sets itself apart from my old turtle beach stereo headsets.
On Xbox series S you need to buy separate surround sound software that it recommends as razers software is PC only meaning unless you buy surround sound on console it will operate as a stereo headset.
The build quality is very good it’s all plastic construction with no weights so as long as you look after it then the product will last.
The built in microphone is good, it sounds like many headphones mics apart from its designed to pick up specific sounds like P’s and S’s that normal mics would struggle to pick up.
Iv tested it on both PC and Xbox series S, on PC or my PC atleast it’s listed as realteck mic which caused a lot of confusion with me because I thought it would identify as a razer headset but it has worked on stream on PC and I have sent voice messages on Xbox with both results being really good.
I give this a 5 star especially if you want immersion when you game. Playing Forza horizon 5 on this is crazy as cars scream past you at 200mph. You can really hear the car drive past 4 of your speakers and it’s just incredible.
I wear glasses now, so finding a good headset that doesn’t force my glasses arms into my skull is a hard one. This one does well to remove any pressure, however it doesn’t do a great job of passive noise cancellation. The package comes with a simply 3.5mm jack and then an extension cable for the PC which splits the audio and mic. The cable is braided with a nice soft material.
The headset is good quality and audio of the mic is great.
I think it’s about 60ohms as detected by my motherboard which after w bit of tweaking does well with sound, though this is not one for music listening. For 38 this is a steal so highly recommend.
A surprisingly good headset for my budget as I do not wish to spend more on a headset as I’m no pro gamer or audio professional.
I’ve been a little nervous since other reviews seemed to highlight the “snapping” problem where the headset snaps in half. I do not find the headset build to be overly flimsy or cheap but I generally do try to treat my hardwares with care.
The head padding is soft and underneath it seems to be a sturdy/firm infrastructure that keeps it together. The ear padding is very comfortable for my use – I work on my computer with the headset in the day and use it for entertainment and gaming in my off time – and I have not yet encountered headache using it or sweaty ear paddings. I also wear glasses on a daily and previous tight headsets were therefore very problematic for me. But not this one though. It seems to rest more on top of the head, moreso than pressuring the ears. I am very pleased with my purchase, although I haven’t activated/used its surround sound capabilities yet. It also cancel out the noise around me pretty good without the earpads working like a “plug” on my ears.
Edit: I forgot to include about the microphone which is quite decent. The fact that it is retractable is quite nice and practical, and the quality of the mic sound itself is fine with good noise cancellation from my surroundings. I am no streamer or podcast host but I have not received any complaints on my microphone quality – even in daily work situation.
The biggest minus for me is the cable. If there is any weakness to this headset it would be the very thin cable which is even braided! I am trying not to let the cable tangle itself too much since I believe this is the element of the headset that would give up the first. That’s a huge shame IMO, having a great headset for the price tag, and then attaching a weak cable that seems flimsy and potentially prone to being ripped off by accident. The cable being braided does not seem to be of any benefit when the cable itself is super thin. I will just be extra careful about this aspect since I do love this headset!
I’ve been using these for over a year and ordered myself a new pair because the others sound driver stopped working in one ear for an unknown reason, was probably my own fault though. Regardless, they sound amazing! I love how they’re able to be fine-tuned to your personal preference in Synapse 3.0! The bass on them is great, which is why I’ve been using Krakens since 2014. The surround sound on them really does help in games, and swapping over to THX is super easy and sounds brilliant! I’m not giving them a 5 because of the issue I listed above, but it could have been my own fault so I’m not dropping it any lower as these really are a quality pair of headphones.
I bought these as a present for my son a couple of months ago. As a pair of gaming headphones they sound great.. much better than my gaming headphones. Good volume and separation, not too subtle/audiophile which is great for gaming.
They have a couple of other good gaming features.
1. They can separate the volumes of chat and game on a play station – which means my son has stopped shouting so much in game.
2. They are 5.1 surround enabled on the PlayStation and come with a 7.1 usb soundcard for PC. I’ve always been a bit meh about surround headphone claims, but these seem to work surprisingly well.
If you don’t need the extra features get the cheaper version, but as a package this is well worth the 80ish quid I paid.

I brought these and when I opened it I was expecting a USB connector not a 3.5 mm jack connector so I was going to return these but decided to try it out in case and to be honest I love them! I have had them ever since! The sound quality is great, they’re very durable, hard to break, you can make your device full volume and then adjust with the headset’s own volume control (Doesn’t affect computer volume just the headset)
I highly recommend this headset!
Razer Kraken Competitive Gaming Set are overall very good headsets but…sound quality should be better:
Negative:
– The max volume is a bit low for my liking. I’m using max volume on ps4 settings and game settings and on headset settings and its still not good enough.
– The surround sound or positional is good, but could be better, doesn’t satisfy me, I would probably invest a bit more and get more quality. I mean, for the price tag you really cant demand much more…I imagine that this is what you get on other brands for this price.
– Can’t find anything else I dont like
Positives:
– Build quality is very good and the finishing touches are amazing.
– Super comfortable, they are amazing!!!! Although the headsets have a big and chunky look their size makes them very adjustable and they are a perfetc fit for me. I have a large head and big ears and the fit is confortable and I dont feel my head pressured or being squashed and plus my ears fit all inside the cup and this adds confort and for long gaming periods you dont feel pain on your ears.
– Besides being extremely comfortable and the earcups actually isolate you from outside sound very well so all your focus is in the game.
– The foam or gel technique and fabric cover on the earcups edges makes them confortable but they also prevent the warming up of the ears and building up of sweat. I have some Sony music wireless headsets and I cant wear them more than half an our because of the heat discomfort and I start sweating lots…so I’m very happy with this RazerKraken set!
– Love the retractable mic and its very adjustable. Mic sound is clear and good enough, and background sound isolation is good also.
– I like the fact that the sound volume control is in the 3.5mm cord and that there is a button to mute the mic. Also the cord is built with a anti tangling fabric like finishig that is very handy.
– In the box you get also an extra extension cord with 2 different types of 3.5mm jacks that I imagine that you can use for different platforms.
– Sound quality is very good…just wish it could go lauder and thet positional sound technology could be better.
Overall very good quality, extremely comfortable, good sound quality. Very good for the price tag.
Personally I woul invest a few more pounds to get a better model from the same brand
The headset is the most comfortable I’ve worn. My previous headset had very firm ear cushions that pressed my glasses painfully in to my head. These one are so big and soft I can wear the headset for hours of happy gaming.
There was a problem with them at first though. The volume of the mic was so low my friends couldn’t hear me when I spoke. I contacted Realtek to install the latest drivers and then contacted Amazon support who were brilliant. There is a video on the Razer site that is very helpful too but none of these steps solved my problem. So if you experience similar difficulties, here’s what I did to fix it. I went to Sound Settings>Sound Control Panel (in blue on the right)>Recording tab>Right-clicked the microphone>Properties>Levels and then used the slider to boost the microphone level. And now I’m deafening my online friends!
Overall, the Razer Kraken V3 X headset is impressive.
Sound:
The 7.1 surround sound (software required) is a great step up from my previous headset, a 15 headset that was unremarkable and lacking. I was quite frankly surprised at how easy it was in games to make out where sounds were coming from (Valorant, GTAV, CSGO to name a few) in relation to where my character was positioned.
One area where the audio is less impressive is music. The low frequencies sound a little muddy, and the highs lack structure, in comparison to my other headphones (Sony WH-H910N). I am not hugely disappointed by this, as the headset is not advertised to have studio-quality sound for music.
Build/Ergonomics:
The headset is comfortable, with the ear cups sitting around my ears rather well. the headband is soft and forgiving, allowing for longer gaming periods. The build quality isn’t excellent however. The frame of the headphones are entirely plastic, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but the size adjusters on the sides lack a smoothness in movement. I am not really one to rage at games, but if you find yourself the type to be destructive when succumbing to a poor game mechanic (because it is always the game’s fault) I would recommend you do not take your anger out on your Razer Kraken V3 X headset.
The input USB wire for the headset does seem to kink without great difficulty, but it does feel sturdy enough for day-to-day use.
Mic:
The mic quality seems to be good, with my friends noticing an improvement over my old headset in a Discord call (the headset being Discord Certified). Sure, it won’t transmit your voice as well as a 500 studio microphone, but for an all-in one package it does the job.
In conclusion, the Kraken V3 X is a solid headset for 70, even more so for the 40 I acquired it for in an Amazon sale
The audio is good for the price, and the microphone seems OK. The one-axis ear-cup rotation and quite squishy, deep, fake-leather ear-cushions of these feel odd and were noticeable less breathable during recent summer weather, compared to the two-axis ear-cup rotation and fabric/foam ear-cushions of my prior headset. It would be nice if the manufacture could look at improving ear cushion breathability, possibly via accessories.
I chose these because they seemed the best, economy priced, headset I could find for remote group sessions and some media use, after being embarrassed for a remote group session by a fragile design failure of an expensive S. S. 7 gaming headset I had, which is now obvious in most of their models.
I buy gaming headsets because they tend to have better Audio, so are useful for media, and can even be cheaper than voice specific headsets with microphones, the larger over-ear cups can also better block external noises too.
Update: December 2022, after, only, a little over a year:
The headband is flawed because the leather-like padding cover has part come away at the back, from the slot it originally was in. More seriously, the headband has started cracked from the back, on the Right side near to by the R, of RAZER on the top, so it’s only a matter of time before it completely separates. I’m glad that I later bought a pair of “Razer Kraken” as an upgrade, because they are much tougher with a one piece Steel headband and ear cup rings, and really put S. S. to shame. I had relegated these for mobile use, but may have to bin them if I can’t patch them up easily.
Great product for price and offers better sound quality than other budget headphones, issues are with design itself as after a week my headset been squeaking whenever I moved them but it doesn’t do that anymore I presume as its new, software that gives you extra virtual sound so you can hear more from different directions isn’t that great and didn’t helped at all and I will say you don’t even need it as headset by itself does amazing job and let me hear footsteps in games without the software and I knew where they been located even if they are quite, quality is great but sometimes had cracking noises whenever someone went high pitch but does not anymore as I presume it’s my machine fault not the headset and had troubles with connecting it to my machine as it has dual mic and audio jack cable and my laptop sometimes thought it is just a headphones so it’s not headset fault (headset comes with splitter in the box if needed) so great product and has little problematic things but it is still worth buying if you are fine with little hastle of updating drivers and your pc
These are really good quality, some of the negative reviews dont match up to the product so here’s my scoop:
You can move the mic up and down and in toward your face and away, its very flexible.
They are incredibly comfortable, I wear glasses and they are lovely. The ear pieces don’t rotate like someone said so the glasses tunnel is where it needs to be
If you press the mute/unmute button the mic works.
It is very clear audio especially in party chat on xbox.
There appears to be some Interference for other people when I talk, but thats not an issue for me, cos I cant hear it.
These sound fine, not the best (and not as good as my Hyper X Cloud II), but absolutely fine for a non-audiophile like me. I’ve listened to hours of Spotify (and HOURS of Teams calls 🙁 ) and a fair bit of game time, and I have no complaints. The cable is braided fabric which makes an irritating noise when it rubs on my clothes, and the volume control is easy to turn accidentally if you turn your head and it catches on a collar or zip.
BUT. They do a thing that no other headset does: the glasses channels in the ear pads. These are very subtle – you can barely feel them with your hand – but this is the only headset I can wear with my glasses for any length of time. My glasses aren’t super chunky, but the arms are several millimetres thick at the hinge. Every other headset gives my unbearable headaches after a while, but the Krakens let me stretch that out a lot. On a good day I get a full 6-8 hours, but even on a bad day I make it 2-3 hours without needing to switch to ear buds. No other headset gives me that, even with aftermarket memory foam ear pads fitted.
Other than that the pads are comfy, the retractable microphone is handy, and the mic quality has been fine for those Teams calls.
I bought this in November 2020 and held off on a review until I used it a little bitas I read some reviews and wanted to see how the mic went. I work from home and let’s just say the sound is amazing for both being on Teams all day and then using it on my Xbox (with an adapter of course). Everything was working fine until last Thursday, 4 months after I bought these when all of a sudden my colleagues stopped hearing me, I could hear them just fine but my mic stopped working. I tried it later on the Xbox and something, the Xbox wasn’t even picking up sound from my mic. I’m currently in discussions with the warranty team with Razer to see what they can do, they have already said it looks like a faulty device. I really liked these headphones and everyone at work complimented them, and of course I had cat ear on them. Super cute! If you do buy these then sign up for the warranty right away!
Overall I’m very happy with these. I’ve had some turtle beech headsets a few weeks back and the Razers sound isn’t as bass heavy. At first I was a bit disappointed with the sound but after using them for a while they grew on me and I actually prefer the softer bass. They are comfortable to wear and the cooling ear pads felt strange at first, but work well.
Microphone quality is also good and I’ve have some positive comments from others on how clear it is.
They also work well on my laptop for Teams calls. Find them more comfortable to wear for conference calls compared to my on ear headset I used to use for calls.
Wow. This is simply the best headset that I have ever used. Prior to this I was using the PlayStation GOLD headset which was great, however wasn’t ideal for gaming on my PC or Xbox. Its great that this headset boasts a powerful performance across all platforms.
The RGB lighting on the ears is subtle, and a brilliant feature (which can only be changed through the Razer software on PC).
The padding on the ears is always cool to the touch and the cooling gel really does help avoid ear sweat during those long gaming sessions.
The headset is light enough that I sometimes forget im wearing it altogether, and the band is well enough padded that it is very comfortable on my head.
Finally, I think the collapsible microphone is a brilliant idea! I love the way it pulls in and out of the left headphone. My friends have already commented on how much clearer I sound.
I’ll start off by saying I’m not a Razer fan. In fact, I actively avoid their products usually due to previous bad experience with their products.
Coming from a HyperX Cloud 2 headset that I really wasn’t happy with the sound I have to say the Razer Kraken X had me pleasantly surprised. The overall sound profile is much better than the HyperX Cloud 2’s, particularly on the low end and bass but they aren’t overly heavy (aka Beats by Dre).
They are comfortable to wear and the microphone is decent (not as good as the HyperX here though).
I dislike Razers software though so I will not be using their weird unlock code for the 7.1 download. Honestly this seems like a huge gimmick anyway. By comparison, HyperX had a USB DAC to handle the 7.1 and it also works with this headset.
I will say the biggest reason I got this one was because it was white and I just changed my setup to mostly white stuff.
These headphones are great if you plan on sitting in one place and not moving around
Perhaps it’s just me but if I move my head quickly they tend to move around/almost fall off and need to be reseated on my head.
The sound quality is about average for the price range. They are on par with other brand name products. I won’t mention names here as this isn’t a competition.
I like the braided cable and the soft cushion ear cups. I can wear these for hours at a time without any pressure points or discomfort. *I’m used to in ear headphones*.
The in line microphone and volume control could be improved, the volume adjustment wheel doesn’t have a large amount of movement so the sound changes with very minute movements.
Overall I would recommend these headphones if you plan on music production or gaming. Though for any kind of sports or activities where you move around a lot I would not recommend these *thought they are aimed at gamers*
I bought these for PC gaming, and they are good, but not outstanding headphones for that.
There’s a few things that stop them getting top marks..
The ear cups do get hot after a couple of hours use.. but they are comfortable and feel like they will last a long time.
The 7.1 Surround (you redeem a code in the box for an app on the razer store that does it digitally), is.. underwhelming.. I’d say.. useless.
The hidden glasses channels are certainly hidden.. I don’t wear glasses but I tried these with some sunglasses just as a test.. and there’s no hidden channel in the foam cups.. you can freely rotate them for one thing so the hidden channel would never line up with he glasses.. but if you just feel round it it simply isn’t there. Its foam all the way round.
One final annoying design feature is the 2 part cable.. firstly… why is it 2 parts? It just adds weight to the cable and an extra failure point. And second the 2×3.5mm jacks that go into the PC, the rubber moulded plugs is too small on the end to make removing them without being tempted to pull on the wire tricky..
Other than those small issues they sound OK, feel well built and light, and for the price you cant complain too much.
I’ve had this headset 2x now, and while I would still buy it again if it breaks, there are problems to it.
Pros:
Great sound quality
Fit on smaller heads (probably not children’s though)
Comfortable for me
Cons:
The first headset mic broke within a year
The second headset mic came dodgy and has never picked my voice up properly. Might be due to it cutting out background noise, and I might be too quiet for it to pick my voice up. (So not good for quiet gamers I guess)
For some people its uncomfortable on the ears to wear for a long time (not for me)
–
I have a small head and most headsets fall off me, this one fits me well, which is why I’ll always get this one.
My son has had a few headsets for gaming over the years, but decided he wanted to buy this with money he had for his 15th birthday. He was SO pleased when it arrived.
Every aspect of this headset is fantastic; even the packaging that it comes in. When you open the box, it really emphasises the beauty of this headset and shows that you’ve bought something special.
In terms of quality, you really can’t get better for the money. The built quality is far superior to other branded headsets that my son has owned and the comfort is second-to-none. The ear cups are soft and “chunky” according to my son; which he loves. The sound is also crystal clear and you can really hear the depth of in-game music and sounds.
The cable on this feels really sturdy; almost a braided feel to it, but plastic? Whatever it’s made of, it feels like it should last. Likewise, the audio jack feels touch and has a premium feel to it.
Overall, neither of us can fault this headset. It’s worth every penny, especially so whilst on offer in the Black Friday sale at 42.99
What came in the box:
The headset with a connecting cable, it has a functional mute button and a volume control dial on the cable. Alongside the headset, came another cable used for connecting the headset to a PC, the mic and audio cables.
Finally, I received some documentation, some stickers and a code for the 7.1 surround sound software – more on this later.
General aesthetic:
I received my order yesterday, they look great inside the box, extremely well presented. It feels nice, each part is well crafted, pulling the headphones down to fit over the head feels great, nice tactile feel.
The microphone is seated inside the headset, if you need to you can pull it and it comes out to about two inches over your mouth so plenty of space.
Audio quality:
I decided to try them out on the PS4 to see what audio quality was like, it is great. The cooling pads in the headset really make it a lot more comfortable especially when you’re in it for the long run.
Noise cancellation:
I have my music about 80% and there is some bleed, but this is to be expected with over-the-ear headphones, once I have my headset on, there’s probably no bleed at all.
Other:
The only thing that prevented me from giving this 5/5 was the fact that the 7.1 surround sound seems to be handled by a proprietary software that you need a unique code for. If I had bought this second hand I may not have been able to take advantage of this feature. Even still I don’t think it is true 7.1 surround sound, I think it is simulated from the software, so bear this in mind before purchasing a used set.
Final verdict:
Still worth buying, was cheap and just needed something to wear that is comfortable.
I was dissapointed initially, almost regretting my purchase, as set up on PC was a little painful and not as shown in the manual if using the THX dongle. There is also a download key printed on a card in the box for 7.1 sound which I assumed I had to install. It turns out you don’t and you manage the THX/Surround for the headphones in Razer Synapse alone.
Then, once the headset was working and software installed, I launched COD:MW and the audio was muddy and muffled. I could barely hear my own gunshots and everything just sounded wrong. That’s when I realised, by alt-tabbing out of the game to Synapse, the app (COD:MW in this case) appears here and I could change the audio mode for THX. Now it sounded better. Much better in fact.
Similarly anything I listened to in Chome – Amazon Prime Music for example – was faint and like I was missing parts of the audio track. Setting Chrome in Synpase to Stereo fixed this and then music sounded great.
At this point, once I was familiar with the set up in Windows, I’m more than happy with the headset. Changing the audio options for individual apps in Synapse – for Chrome (stereo), Netflix (surround sound), COD:MW (THX), etc – has meant the headset is working correctly and sounding good. Sound isolation is pretty good and I’m no longer being shouted at for audio-leakage as I do when using my open back headphones. Also the headset has remained comfortable over a 1-2 hour period of use.
Love these headphones..been using ps4 phones and decided to get a new pair..these came out best for Sept 2020..and I’m glad I took the time to see what is good out there…brilliant for the money..just want earphones with no gimmicks..I found them!! The sound from these are better than anything I have ever used..footsteps, noises in the background of the game completely surround you…love ’em happy happy game!!
The Kraken is a great headset for the price. Probably one of the best low range sets I have owned. It certainly focuses more on the low ranges then the high ranges so for bass lovers thats a plus. The 7.1 software (win10 only) certainly makes a improvement. For me what really made the headset a beast is the razer THX Spatial Audio software. Now this is an extra 10 for the headset but for me it is well worth it. It has an EQ and other adjustments which really pushes the sound quality for what I want which is balanced low ranges with clear and crisp high tones. But the the distancing calibration also pushes the levels of the volume which is a plus for an old dog like me!
With the THX software it’s still a good headset and worth the 46. If you can get a free EQ to balance it out then you will be happy but I highly suggest you pair it with the THX software!
Ordered a pair of these at full price last September for my son. Last week they stopped working. Tried plugging them into different things but wouldn’t work. Called Amazon, a new pair arrived the next day and I sent the others ones back at the PO a couple of days later. Can’t fault Amazon.
The headphones were the best my son has ever used (in his opinion) he says the sound was great and trust me, he can not hear a thing when he is wearing them. I noticed they have now been reduced at a really good price. Even though ours broke they are a great price, great sound and are covered by Amazon. Can’t go wrong.
I bought these headphones for gaming but also since working from home, I’m on a lot of calls so I wanted something comfy for hours of use both work and play. These are comfortable, a little more loose on the ears than I’m used to but this is likely a contributor to comfort. Cranked up the music volume today and they sound great, I usually use my wireless Beats for music but was happy to keep these on. Although Slack or Zoom apps didn’t pick up the headphone jack unless I used the apps on chrome which is weird so I’ve ordered a USB adapter because I’ve literally tried everything else. Great head set, deffo recommend.
These headphones are very comfortable and the sound is good. The microphone is very clear but a bit too quiet.
I just rated the “Noise cancellation” category at 3 because it blocks some “noise” but it can be definitely improvised.
The headphones gave me comfort during long hours of playing games.
I just bought them because of a friend recommendation and I don’t regret it.
The overall rating is 4 stars because the cable gets tangled too often and is quite annoying but it might be only me, I have seen some reviews that they don’t have problems with tangling at all.
Love these headphones so much!! I am a glasses wearer and can game for long periods of time so headphones can get really unfomfortable after a while. But not these!! The ear pads are genuinely cooling and super comfortable for long periods of time, even when wearing my glasses. The noise cancellation on them is really good too as is the microphone. I also love how the microphone can be tucked away and the small mute and volume controls it has. The fact that yiu can also add ears to them is a bonus!!
My boyfriend got the Kraken X Lite pair and is insanely jealous because mine are more comfortable!
This is a very well made and good looking headset (my first) and I thought I would buy a decent known brand…it has not disappointed me and I hope to purchase matching keyboard and mouse soon.
It is great looking, comfortable, well made and sturdy. Various cables in the box so you should be able to connect it to your PC or games console with ease but DOES NOT connect via USB. Sound is really good and it does a nice job of blocking out some ambient noise. The retractable mic is clever and works well.
The bad points:
1 – You need the headset serial number to register for the 2 year warranty. It is in a stupid place and you need to take an ear cushion off to find it. That bit is easy but it is a pig to get back on!
2 – The in-line volume control is cheap and nasty…not the same quality as the rest of the headset.
3 – The cable is a bit too short…another 50cm would help.
4 – You cannot get replacement ear cushions like you can with other models. Hopefully this will come in time.
5 – It is not obvious where the hidden eyewear channels are which I know…being hidden is the idea! It would be nice to know where they are though so you can line them up with your glasses arms yet so far…comfort has been fine so I’m probably being too picky!
A bargain at 60…almost 80 on the manufacturers website!
-just received the package
-the packaging was decent but overall meh. sadly the headphones don’t come with a pouch
-microphone and speaker test on laptop
speakers ridiculously decent, not the best but far above average, comparing to the Powerbeats Pro sounds relatively the same, ‘apart from when the beat drops’ as expected. the microphone is not Walmart gaming headphone level but not the best, maybe after fiddling with it my opinion would change. but for now the microphone did not sound as fulfilling as the inbuilt microphone on my Mac.
-had to wait for the console to update so that sucked, literally the worst timing. (really triggering).
-still waiting for the console update
just as stated all you need to do is plug into the controller to be connected to the console (xbox 1x).
the speakers sound incredible for music, and It means a lot coming from someone that plays with a full sound system normally.
noticed the headphones are quite heavy, you can really feel the weight on your neck, but it is manageable. After longer gameplays I would re-review the whole thing.
aiit 100% lets go.
-Console test (overall)
F1 2019
The cars sound flat compare to the sound system, an incredible decrease in sound depth *
lap times are about a second of 🙁 , maybe i’m rusty or maybe the difference in tone. not sure if its the headphones in particular or all headphones. so take with a pinch of salt. actually to change it to something relatively close to the sound system I went to audio settings, then advanced audio settings then changed radio output device to main output device. it sort of tricks the system, sounds way better and vibrant. Yeah, way better although you become more afraid of locking up.
Forza horizon 4 and motorspot 7 (never noticed the game had ads your forced to watch) btw if you want the lego pack contact me.
Sounds decent enough, not outstanding but really good.the cars actually sound better than the surround sound, those crackles and downshifts (especially the holy trinity and their modern counterparts). definitely your moneys worth or this game.
FIFA, GTA, ACECOMBAT, FORTNITE & COD franchises
sounds ok, would go more in-depth after 2 weeks of offline and online play, but right now its just meh.
-Overall review
I got mine, the Razer Kraken for Console for about 52.25 pounds and it was totally worth it
pros cons
Sounds good both with music and games a lot of plastic (I personally don’t mind)
Works on xbox without any setup quite heavy
totally worth the price of purchase design is quite cumbersome (just pointing out, IDM)
Build seems sturdy
would I recommend, 100% on the X or this if price difference is below 10 pounds.
I hope this helps, add me on xbox (traplordafro21), or reply to this review for further questions.
most likely I wasted my time with this, but if there’s anyone that appreciates this you are most definitely welcome.
Would be Re-reviewing after 2-4 weeks of ownership.
Certainly a Good First Headset. If you’re not prepared to spend over 150 -200 then I would recommend these headphones for sure. All my friends have Astro’s but I don’t play enough justify owning a pair of those. Further, this headset was sometimes picking up enemy footsteps that even my mates astros were not picking up, although this only happens on on occasion. Love the color. The comfort is exceptional, after 7-8 hours is when I start to notice slight aching on my ears but this isn’t a deal breaker. I think if you have the money to buy a good pair of Astro’s, do that. If you want something to compare this with price, Cloud X’s are a good contender (so I’ve been told) but I’ve not personally had any experience with Clouds. Arrived early and my first Kraken product and I’m nothing but impressed.
Tbh I admit that it’s not worth 20 like AT ALL. It’s just 2 pieces of rubber which stretches round and attaches on. But tbh I don’t mind the price point that much, you pay more for the brand not really the product all “razor” items are expensive solely because it’s a “razor” product. Just how it is.
It’s comfortable I dunno why people are saying it’s not comfortable you can hardly tell it’s on your headphones so I don’t get how people are saying it’s not comfy.. it is… it’s rubber.
I’ll add some pics
I got this to replace a Turtle Beach headset that broke (not that impressed with Turtle beach headsets robustness) so decided to get this.
It is well built, sounds fine, Load enough, the controls on the lead are a lot easier to find that those on headsets that put the controls on the ear cups. No need to charge it like some, and it is comfortable to wear. It’s not absolutely amazing, but works well for the price and seems robust.
Only issue is that the lead end that plugs into the controller (if using on console) is a right angled plug. This gets in the way of you use a controller with paddles underneath (like Scuf or Xbox Elite etc) and you can catch it with your fingers when the game gets frantic. My suggestion to Razer is to put a straight connector on the lead as never had this issue with straight connectors.
Love these! I have a tiny head so buying a headset was a stressful experience. My old headset used to ache after a while as they’d press my glasses against my ears or squash my piercings. However, these have completely removed this problem from gaming for me. The extendable mic is also a nice touch as it means you can move it away from your face when you’re not in a party. The comfort and sound quality are both high quality 🙂
One of the best headphones I ever had.
Very sturdy and comfortable. It goes around the ear and it is very comfortable. I use it during work as well for meetings and listening to music so there are days when I have it on my head for countless amount of hours and it’s not getting uncomfortable at all.
The audio quality is great, very clear and it has good bass as well.
The retractable microphone is easy to pull out and push back in and has good sound quality.
The cushions are big and soft, with the extra gel padding, which is nice and cold when you put it on, and it helps not to sweat too much under it on hot summer days.
The metal frame gives it a very rugged feel extra weight to it.
The braided cord is a nice touch and the length of it is good. Not too short and not too long.
The volume control is a bit easy to accidentally move as it can snag on clothes with its teeth.
So yeah. I can only recommend this one.
I feel like Belle Delphine Now all i need is my gamer girl bathwater to go with this kitty ears UwU
I love this headset but the volume wheel is so sensitive, it gets caught a lot and moves my volume up or down dramatically which scares me sometimes whilst I’m gaming otherwise it’s a brilliant headset and my mates i game online with have also said how much better the sound is compared to my Turtle Beaches before.
The scroll is sensitive so I’ve given it 4*
This headset is extremely comfortable and the cooling gel is really noticeable. The glasses cutout is not noticeable for normal users but great for glasses users. The sound quality is amazing and the THX surround sound spatial audio is really effective and is very cool! The controller is very helpful when playing a game and you are unable to hear your friends in discord or the voice chat you are using as you can simply turn their voices up with the controller, the bass boost controls are noticeable if needed but on standard settings the bass is great. The razer synapse app is great and everything is very customisable, e.g. (spatial audio for individual apps, full mixer, enhancement for voice clarity and enhancements, EQ for different settings of sounds and a great microphone setting.) The only downside to this headset is the razer synapse app can be fairly persistent when asking you to do a quick update very occasionally, this doesn’t bother me much though and the notifications can be turned off in system settings. I do recommend this headset for a high-quality gaming headset! Very nice
I upgraded to these headphones from some turtle beach X12’s and the sound quality on these is top notch! They feel so comfortable to wear for long periods of time which is a must for any gamer. The audio controller is easy to use and straightforward enough, but the small audio controller that sits where your chest is can be problematic. If you move your head upwards it can catch on your chest and turn the volume up so its best to always have it on full volume and adjust it on the main audio controller that sits on the floor or wherever you put it. Im not entirely sure what THX spatial audio does but it seems to make music have abit more bass and overall makes things sound abit better but someone with more knowledge can give you more insight into if its performaing well or correctly. Overall these are a good pair of headphones for the price and have a great build quality and sound quality so i would recommend them to anyone.
You all know razer offers great quality. And as always, with this headset they did too. Very durable metal frame and the most comfortable cushions I have tried. Very stealthy all black look, it doesnt scream that its razer like their other products. The software is very pretty and intuitive, however the thx spatial audio is a little bit worse than you’d expect. Some other 7.1 surrounds I’ve tried worked better but the comfort is just heaven!
This headset is very nice, however it does lack sound quality when using the sysnapse THX spatial sound, i managed to overcome this by using the dolby atmos for headphones drivers (notes these cost an additional 15) but in my opinion this headet paired with those audio drivers is well worth it.
They are incedibly comfortable, most headphones/headsets i have tried hurt your head after long periods of wearing them and must be broken in slowly, however these are perfectly comfable for hours of gaming right out the box.
Pros:
– Very good sound quality (with dolby atmos drivers)
– Extremely comoftable
– Lots of controls
– High quality and great build (mostly metal)
– Easy setup
Cons:
– Short cable between usb sound card/control hub (bad for cable management)
– Out of the bos drivers (synapse THX spatial sound) is not very good (reccomend using dolby atmos for headphones)
– Microphone is a bit wobbly (however it does retract)
I was so happy and excited when I received these, upon order I was a little worried as to whether they’d fit my Corsair VOID headset, I was willing to take the risk as I couldn’t find any information on the compatibility with other headsets, I’m glad to say they fit perfectly! Very snug, and they’re not going anywhere. The quality is excellent and they’re a very nice, soft rubber like material, no harsh plastic. I don’t feel them at all so they don’t cause any discomfort and over all they look very cute, exactly what I wanted to spice up my headset. 10/10 <3
Re revised review.
Kraken Tournament Edition
Xbox one ps4 wii u and pc tested.
Nice clear speech bothways
Good volumes nice and loud.
No distortion when you crank up your fav shooter and nice quality on adventure games.
The THX dongle for pc (does work on ps4 as a amped headphone) so a little louder than just plugging in the controller, although that’s loud anyway.
Good all rounder tested with dolby atmos and worked a treat on xbox and Netflix atmos supported movies.
Many times in online multiplayer shooters I have spun round and killed players because this headset allowed me to hear them coming. Always a plus.
Comfort.
Light, comfy cool gel earphones, glasses wearers these are excellent to, over head band you forget is there no over sweat issues either.
Durability these will last as long as you look after them, a lot of metals in the build quality, shame the cable isn’t removable incase the wire was ever damaged but not an issue here.
On pc you may find the mic doesn’t work when you plug in your USB THX dongle,
Please install razers synapse software to control the headsets volumes and features and all is perfect.
Hope that’s helps, anyone that reads my reviews know I’m harsh on items and know what I’m on about, I’ve been in the electronics game years and know quality wise what’s good.
These are good. I give overall 8/10 as always room for improvement. A good solid buy.
