Great boom arm for any desktop microphone. The clamp where you mount the arm is very loose but not in a bad way, you could use a bit of blue tac if it is too loose for you. It’s not that lightweight but AS a boom arm that’s a good thing. All in all a great solid bit of kit!

This just arrived, first thoughts are I love it. Very sturdy but not lightweight. I bought it to use with a camera for top down filming and it’s perfect.

Such a good quality scissor arm! No twangy springs and so well engineered. I have taken the option to use the mount that is cut into your desk, and it makes it so much cleaner. I love it.

It makes the world of difference

The arm works great but it arrived with a crazy grinding/squeaking sound when adjusting the vertical position. Some Vaseline resolved the issue but shouldn’t have been a problem in the first place.

I have to say, I’ve had it for 2 months and I’m very happy with it. It’s very easy to attach to my desk and it’s also easy to change mic positions with it and it remains quite stable (providing that the mic is heavy enough). One thing that I found surprising though is that when you put the arm into the table mount, it’s just a hole so it’s a little wobbly. But it’s never fallen or anything and at least it makes it easy to dismount maybe?

Love the way it looks and holds my Rode NT-USB Microphone. The Velcro straps to hold the cable in place is a really nice touch. A bit pricey though.

Holds microphone in place perfectly. It can withstand being adjusted frequently without losing any tension. Defiantly worth it over cheaper alternatives.

Similar to a lot of reviews here, I had a cheap microphone arm that I was forever struggling to adjust to hold the microphone steady. It wasn’t great for my Rode condenser microphone but I only used it for home recording and so I thought it was pointless buying a better one . However, the connector snapped and I had to throw it away and decided that it wasn’t worth buying another cheap one. Decided to give this a go and it’s great: holds the microphone steady, adjusts easily and is strong enough not to droop :-). Well worth the money.

Pay cheap, pay twice, I you think it is pricey then save a bit more as this is worth paying more for, it seems expensive for in the long run it isn’t. It is nicely made, easy to put together and does the job. It is very sturdy, no squeaks when you move it around, it feels very slick and above all it hold my AKG heavy microphone without dropping.

Worth paying the extra for in my honest opinion.

Having tried a few cheaper versions I decided to try this more solid well reviewed item, glad I did. No ugly springs showing, smooth quiet movement, with a little adjustment you can place it wherever you need the mic to be and easily push it away when not in use. Solid and neat desk clamp although once I am 100% happy with the placement I will drill my desk and use the through desk fitting as this seems neater and the spigot fits bette

My friend suggested I get a much cheaper boom arm but my Blue Yeti cost over 100 so I felt more comfortable getting a highly rated and branded arm and I’m glad I did.
Fitting is very straight forward and it’s very easy to move in various positions as required. Where I have it placed it’s also very easy to lift and rotate out of the way when not in use and sits comfortably three quarters extended with a heavy mic attached.

I had one of those cheap ones before this purchase. It’s a false economy. It was wobbly, all the screws came loose and it eventually just bent at the foundation. This one is amazing. Super solid and sturdy.

Honestly, I can’t fault this product. I use the clamp option and two years later it still works fine. No squeaking, no wobbling and minimal impact on my desk (although it is a cheap, flatpack one. I wouldn’t use this clamp on a glass desk or something).

Its a little expensive for what it is, but it works great, so I’m content with having paid a little extra for a quality product.

This is fantastic if you have a heavy microphone, I was using cheap boom arms before and keep having to tighten them. This however just keeps performing and moves out of the way really easy, comes with clamp fitting and one where you drill to the desk amazing.

I wish I’d bought this earlier and not wasted my time on cheap (under 30) studio mounts in the past. This is a very sturdy bit of kit and does not move once positioned. Its able to manage my Rode Valve mic that’s as heavy as a brick with no problems. Mounts easily to your desk without scratching or denting. Might get another..

I really like this one. I have it for a few months now and honestly its robust and build with great quality.
I’ve tried a few before this one and all of them wear out, broke , or were noisy when i moved them.
Keep in mind that it works best with heavy microphones,.

I had my mic on the desk between my arms, which was not useful in the slightest.

Bought the Boom and works well. Strong and easy to manoeuvre.

I use this with a Razer Seiren so had to purchase the Razer suspension adaptor. They are perfectly compatible and I’ve been using this setup for months now without issue.

Honestly I think almost every single content creator and streamer can say that this boom arm is the absolute best value for money on the market. Rode have designed an arm that is lengthy, easy to set up, stable and quick to set up and use.

I don’t see myself ever needing another boom arm.
    Thank you RODE!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this as an opened box from Amazon Warehouse, as it was cheaper due to the box being damaged (I never keep the boxes anyway). Everything is still guaranteed for 3 months anyway, so if there was any sign of damage or missing bits it’s covered anyway.

I used the desk clamp to fit to my desk. Some reviews have said that the arm doesn’t fit tightly into the clamp, and I was initially a little worried by the slight play I could feel when trying it before fitting. However, once the clamp is properly tightened to the desk and the unit is in place, weighing itself down there is no detectable play at all.

The unit itself feels very solidly built, and the springs are strong. I attached a shockmount and pop filter, and fitted an SE2200a microphone to it, and it seems to be just about perfectly weighted. Whatever position I put it in, it holds that position. Obviously it’s new so I can’t tell if the springs would weaken with age and start drooping, but at the moment everything is solid as a rock.

There are cheaper boom arms out there, but if you’re in the situation where you can afford to pay a little extra, I think for the quality that you get with this arm you won’t be disappointed.

    Quality mic arm

My desk fits into a room corner and I was worried the arm movement would be limited by the wall. But the way it is designed means there is no loss of movement. It moves freely up and down and stays in position well.

A very well made desktop mic stand. Well worth the money and a lot better made than the cheap mic stand I have used in the past. Works very well with a quite weighty rode mic and does not ‘creep’ when positioned (the problem I have encountered with the cheap mic stand). I would recomend without hesitation.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe Rode PSA1 Swivel Mount Studio Microphone Boom Arm really is in a class of its own. I have previously purchased a much cheaper product and it just couldn’t cope with the weight of my microphone and shock mount. The Rode is well-built, sturdy and robust. The spring mechanism holds the arm exactly where you place it. It comes with 2 fittings – a clamp that can be screwed to the desk or table, and a permanent fitting that involves drilling a hole in your desk or table. Clear instructions for both are provided. In my view it is worth paying the extra for this quality product. It works.

Wanted a desk mount with a more compact clamp due to space between the desk and wall. This Boom Arm is so much better quality than the cheaper versions available, well worth the investment. The longer reach also makes it more useful in the studio environment.

Simply the best stand you can buy. Though expensive compared to the cheaper stands, this one is a lot stronger and built a lot better and allows you to position your microphone anywhere you want. I can not recommend enough and I stress you buy this one rather than a cheaper one.

Although I am impresed wiith this products quality, it is not so good with lightweight microphones, like the Shure SM range or any other XLR “Shure” type microphone I tested. The reason was because there is no way to adjust the tension to allow for lighter microphones. The arm will just rise up on its own. I emailed Rode directly over 5 months ago and have yet to recieve a reply so I decided to make my own “Balance” weights to overcome this shortfall.

Previously owned the cheap 10 – 20 mic boom arms to hold my mic when gaming but needed something with a bit more reach. Was reluctant to spend this amount, but with hindsight it has been well worth it. Everything screams quality. It has great extension which is what i mainly needed it for as my previous cheapies didnt have quite enough reach to extend across my desk.

If like me you need a good mic boom arm that is well made, solid and robust then this is the one. Excelle

Such a fantastic piece of equipment. If you use a microphone at your desk for any reason – gaming, work, podcast etc…. – you need to get this. Very easy to setup. Just find a good place on your desk for the clamp and twist until tight. Then simply place the stand in the slot and you’re good to go.

I use an AT2020 microphone with this and I can tell you it works wonders. I wouldn’t recommend using the attachment that comes with the AT2020 – a little bit finicky to attach to the PSA1. But get a simple shock mount and pop filter and you’re good to go.

I started off with a cheap neewer boom arm but after a couple of weeks use it started catching on my desk and chipping away at the wood. The neewer was noisey when moving it and it wouldnt stay in the correct position with a Audio technica mic.
Just thought i would share my comparison with the PSA1, this boom arm is quiet, doesnt catch on my desk as it has a holder that you put the arm into and will lay close to flat and stay there. Highly recommended.

This mount works well, is easy enough to set up, but I’m not sure the extra 40 investment over a cheap one can be justified. There’s no killer features or improvements like more freedom of movement, it’s just an arm that’s supposedly better quality. Since I had the money to spare however, this was the best option I found on Amazon.

Installed with the fixed desk mount via hole drilled in desk as the clamp did not suit my desk. Very very happy with the strength and convenience of the mount and arm.

I’m using with a condenser mic on a shock mount, with a popper stopper attachment fixed to the Rode arm.

The weight of the mic is not a problem at all, and the arm is very fluent and easy to put into recording position then swing away when not in use. When in position the mic is steady as a rock, with none of the topple risk or arms obscuring my screens that have caused me headaches with other stands and booms.

I love that i can lift out the whole shebang fast to stash it out of the way, and the fixed desk mount is very unobtrusive, sits almost flush to the surface of the desk and even manages not to look ugly. The clamp mount alternative will come in handy when I need to record elsewhere. Nice to have both options included as standard.

This thing, is quite simply , amazing!

And at the new lower price of 60 quid its a no brainer over the cheap 12.99 jobs you see all over amazon and fleabay.

When you get it and install it it will be extended all the way up, don’t worry this is 100% normal its designed to be balanced with a mic on it. I have the MXL 990 on it ( a quite heavy mic) and it balances it very well, it almost floats in mid air.

The guide for the XLR is nice too and you get 3 Velcro strips to hold the cable on to the arm, but 4 would have been nice.

Would be cool if there where other colour options to match the “gold” coloured mics like RODE’s own NT1a or my MXL990, or silver other other mics, oh and RED, because red is cool :P.

I originally had a neewer boom arm for my Rode NT USB, When I first got that arm I realised that it was actually a bit too lightweight for the job and my mic would start to slowly drop.

I did use the Neewer one for a long time… Mainly due to price of the Rode. But after getting fed up with the Neewer I replace it with the Rode model and wish I had done it sooner. There is much more reach and stability from this arm. It seems to be on some sort of hydraulic system where I can just push the arm up and it will slide up and out of the way with ease.

The arm also seems to reduce the vibration that I was getting from my keyboard, Which my friends much prefer. If you’re spending the money on a desktop mic don’t cheap out with one of the cheaper arms. Get this one to begin with.

I used to have a cheap racksoy arm, but it couldn’t even support half of the rated weight. It bent and snapped in multiple places with a blue snowball.
The PSA1 on the other hand is great, the arm is long enough to reach over my 24″ screen so I can hide the base out the way, which is quite big on this arm, giving it lots of stability. The arm is great quality and very strong, the springs are also very good.

When I first saw the microphone booms for sale on Amazon I thought they’s all be pretty much the same … my god they really aren’t !
This is solid and easily takes the weight of my Procaster and shockmount , none of the others I tried would take the strain of a webcam without sagging …

It’s well made and I think it’s well worth the money, easy to adjust and tighten up if needed and it just looks elegant … yes that’s right, a touch of class !

This is a great quality mic arm for the price. It supports my Samson CO1U – USB Studio Condenser Microphone with Samson SP01 Shock Mount very well, with no drooping or instability. It comes with a table clamp, as well as a bushing to install into the desk with an appropriately sized hole. I’ve used neither, as I’ve 3D printed an adapter for a monitor arm pole so the arm goes over the top of my monitor – but the fixings feel substantial.

It comes with three RODE branded velcro ties, to attach the mic cable to the arm (presumably). They do an OK job at this, but you’ll probably want more than three of these to do a really good job.

The part where the mic holder attaches to the arm is great – the screw thread has a handle to rotate it to screw in the holder. This is something even the more expensive arms often fail to address, meaning you have to spin the mic holder around to attach it (which is pretty annoying when it’s an enormous shock mount). The clamp which holds the threaded section at the correct angle is very well made too, all chrome, two screws on each side to hold that at the correct angle. Something which cheaper arms are very bad at, which eventually leads to the mic falling out of the holder.

Cheaper arms are a false economy – just get one of these if you’re looking for an entry-level desk mounted mic arm for podcasting, streaming, or even radio studios. The only better arm that are worth considering are the Yellotec M!ka mic arms, not available on Amazon, and are considerably more expensive.

Extremely well built, solid and very sturdy, a quality bit of kit.

Easily supports a heavy Blue Yeti microphone with the Blue Yeti shock mount with easy movement and positioning.

Cheaper arms are available but they tend to sag when supporting heavier microphones.

As it says in the instructions, take care when unpacking as the springs are very strong and it opens up with serious force.

Great product, I currently have it on its clamp mount as Im still at uni, I do have to tighten it every few weeks or the boom arm sways, has also developed a slight creak noise when moving since buying.
Will update to see if it still swings by itself once I move home and install the non clamp desk mount.

The are is excellent and holds the blue yeti perfectly, there’s various adjustments to stop it dropping or bouncing up. It can hold this heavy mic in any position if set up correctly. The base did not have a big enough hole though for the arm to slot into, it was ridiculous, I tried using all my strength to push the two pieces together without any luck. I had to put a blade into the hole and scrape away at the plastic for an hour, removing shavings with a vacuum, then I could slot the arm into the hole. I watched YouTube videos of people doing it without any effort. So mine was defective.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThe arm is great, I replaced a cheap one with this and I should never have bought the cheap one and should have just bought this instead in the first place.

My Blue Yeti fit’s with no problems and it clamps down on my Ikea Desk easily enough.

I did wonder how to lock it in place after moving it around, only to find that the weight of the microphone itself hold’s it in place with no wobble and it’s easy to move out of the way.

Overall you get what you pay for, and this is well worth the money and if you are thinking of recording video’s, podcast’s, livestreaming or something else where you use a microphone and you need an arm for it, then this should be looked at.

I bought this arm as I had a cheap one for around 10 however it struggled to hold up the weight of my Blue Yeti and felt unstable. It was also very hard to move. However, when I got this I loved it. It holds it up perfectly while being perfectly flexible. I’m one month through using it and I must say I have no regrets buying this expensive arm. If you’re going to buy a microphone stand, let it be this one. This is well made but I would say quite pricey. However, I strongly suggest you buy this one over the cheap 10 or less stands because every part of this stand is significantly better from clamp to the arm itself. It’s very strong and this one fits nicely on my desk unlike the others. You get what you pay for with microphone stands

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersI made the mistake of buying a much cheaper mic arm the first time round (about 20). It was flimsy and barely carried the weight of my mic – a Yeti Blue. It needed tightening all the time and just wasn’t up to the job. However this mic boom is in an entirely different league. This is a substantial piece of kit that has no problem holding the weight of the mic. All parts are of high quality and there are two options to attach to the desk, a temp one with a clamp and a permanent one by drilling a hole. It is spring loaded and moves well around the desk. Also, a key benefit for me, is that is has full 360 movement in the stand, that means I can fold it up against the wall to the right of my monitors (see pic). The old one wouldn’t be able to sit flush against the wall. So well done – very happy customer. Just annoyed that I wasted the money and time on the cheaper product before finding this one.

This is the microphone arm that you meant to buy - don't bother with the cheaper rubbish if you have a heavy Yeti

I am so glad I did as it is the best boom arm I have used. I have done the usual thing in the past of buying cheap and making do. I should have bought this product month’s ago, and if so it would have saved me a lot of money in the process.

High build quality doesn’t feel flimsy at all, very very easy to set up and absolutely feels high quality. I use this in conjunction with an Audio Technica AT2020 USB+ with a Neewer universal shock mount, and it works like a charm.

There are lots of Cheaper boom Arms you can buy but if you just take a look at some of the YouTube reviews comparing them you will see that the quality is night and day. Cheaper Balham Arms also seem to be a lot shorter in length when fully extended, this would have been a problem for me as I mount my arm behind my monitors so there has to be enough clearance for the arm to get over the top of my monitors.

This wasn’t a problem with the PSA1, I have plenty of clearance and even enough to bring the mic closer or further away as I see fit.

Easy to set up, also provides a desk mount in which you can drill a hole in your desk to insert the arm, which is useful for a desk which is flush against the wall. Little expensive for what you get, but aren’t much out there with the same quality.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersVery good, sturdy swivel. I’ve used it with a Blue Snowball and it’s nice to have it and the wires up off my desk (I’d also recommend buying a longer cable for Snowball users as the default cable is not really long enough. You wouldn’t want a microphone much lighter than this though because the spring mechanism already tends to try to lift it up a bit too much. It’s incredibly easy to attack to your desk and took me about 2 minutes.

Since this information appeared to be available literally nowhere else that I could find, each arm from center pivot to center pivot is about 40cm long, meaning it’s about 80cm long at full stretch. The fact that the mount is a little bit raised off the table means it’s max vertical height will be a little bit higher than that though. This length means that you probably won’t be able to reach it over your PC monitor, you’ll have to keep it to the side.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersA couple of years ago I had the option of buying the Rode PSA1 or a cheaper equivalent. I chose the latter.

It did not take my long to realise that picking the cheaper boom arm was the wrong thing to do. The other boom arm did work, it just didn’t work well. If it sat in the one position it wasn’t too bad, but as soon as you try and moved it the clamp would come out.

Thankfully, no such problem exists with the Rode PSA1. It works exactly like it should. The clamp feels solid and the mechanism allows you to swivel everything around 360 degrees with no problems.

Very happy with this purchase. I only wished I opted for this one a few years ago.

After having a awful experience with a flimsy microphone arm I decided to put the extra money into the RODE PSA1 and boy I wasn’t disappointed! The overall build quality is best to none and the the functionality feels smooth and easy to move. And for setting up this microphone arm that was effortless!
Great quality product for a fair but premium price

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersLove it. I bought this knowing that it may not even work for me given that my space is very limited, however I decided it was worth the gamble. Definitely paid off. It fits into the space I have perfectly. The arm itself feels very sturdy and comes with an adapter for my Blue Yeti so there was no need to buy one separately. It features a clamp, which is what I used to attach it to my desk, and a bolt type thingy to insert into the wood of the desk should you want to mount it that way The instructions are a bit rubbish but it’s pretty easy to work out how to use the arm properly anyway so you don’t need to worry about that.

Overall, so far, I don’t see anything wrong with this mount. Definitely recommend it.

Good product overall. Arm sits perfectly in the desk bracket and maneuvers easily and with the weight of the mic is very secure. Would recommend this to anyone looking to buy a cheaper alternative as you will be more than happy spending the extra on a quality product.

Very sturdy microphone stand that doesn’t sag and is easy to adjust and install. I bought this microphone to use with the rode PSM1 Shock Mount and Rode USB microphone and they go great together. The initial installation took 5 minutes and was very simple. The stand will move easily if you try to move it but it stays in place once you have positioned it. This is a great buy.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a great product. It allows you to move your microphone almost anywhere in any position, and it supports very heavy microphones as well. I’ve been using mine with a Blue Yeti and it works great. The range on these can go pretty far and it’s clearly very heavy duty which is great to see.
However, I’m really not sure if this is worth the price. Depending on how you use it, you’d most likely be better off just using a regular microphone stand rather than dishing out so much money on this.

Having a gaming pc set up, and a gaming keyboard with Cherry MX BLUE switches, i was looking for a way to reduce the CLICK CLACK of keys while i was playing and recording videos for youtube and twitch,

this is not like any other boom arm, as i use a blue Yeti mic it is very heavy and to add to the challenge i use a blue shock mount aswell and this arm has held it at the EXACT height i leave it at every time, what a perfectly designed piece of kit

i dont know of many heavier mics than the blue yeti, so i imagine you would be fine using this with your mic

would defiantly rate this 100% buy if your thinking of i

Just arrived today. Opened it up and went to set it up but unfortunately, the end is put on upside down as seen in the pic I posted. I’ve looked everywhere to see if anyone else has had this problem to no avail. Looks like a factory defect to me.

[EDIT] managed to fix it by taking off the end and flipping it around. It’s all working good and holds the mic well.

Great quality boom arm. First one I’ve owned, it fits the desk very well and stays on without issue (using the desk clamp). When I installed it, I was puzzled as the boom wouldn’t stay down like in the image. It turns out you have to attach the microphone first, it uses the weight and counter-balances to stay down which is awesome. Really, no problem with this. It even has great velcrow clips to keep your cables against the stand.

Really great boom! I’ve tried a few and this one is definitely one of the best.

The only flaws I’ve found so far is that it sounds rather squeeky/grindy when moving, which suggests metal is rubbing on metal and may cause problems further down the line. Also, I use this which a Blue Yeti + shock mount, which are both very heavy. At times I feel like the boom is sagging slightly under the weight. However compared to the other booms which couldn’t hold the weight, this one is infinitely better.

Really sturdy, doesnt’ take long to set up either. Only thing I’d say is make sure you know where you want to place it before bothering to put the arm on the stand since it makes life way easier. I thought I’d break it by moving it about all of the time when its in the way or I’m not speaking. But honestly, a quick turn and its super sturdy I don’t feel like its going to fall out of the mount. Is light enough to move on the fly too if you need to adjust while talking. Love the fact it has velcro straps for the microphones wires. All in all, a great product. Well worth the money.

Great arm that holds the blue yeti extremely well but i would be happier if the thread into the mic could be done up tight so there is no movement in the twist. saying that the microphone is securely in there and it also comes with cable ties for your cable manageme

Awesome arm! Works great with my Blue Yeti, no problems at all after a few weeks use – no sign of any sag. It comes with all the necessary adapters for the Yeti, and the Rode cable ties are a neat touch. I have the mic upside down with the front facing me, and a pop filter, and the sound is crisp and easy to move around behind my monitor or away from my speakers. It also looks extremely professional, compared to any other mic stand. Best placed at one of the back corners if you have a small/medium size desk, and if you have a more unique set-up it’s easy to work something out. It would be great if Rode made a few size options in one line so you can guarantee clearance over larger monitors, but there is usually somewhere you can put it to make it work. This is one of those products that is genuinely worth the price over cheaper models that will sag quickly. I just hope there is a way to buy more clamps for quickly moving it around the room!

Great arm for the Blue Yeti

Literally the best boom arm I’ve ever had, and I’ve went through an amount.

I am currently using it with this shock mount: chord SM02 Microphone Holder Studio for my AT2020USB microphone.

Immediately after setting them up, I’ve been told that now I sound as if I’m with people in the room, so it definitely makes a big difference.

The boom arm comes with nice velcro straps to keep your wires close to the actual arm.

The arm is VERY flexible and easy to move, but will not move unless you deliberately push it. It is also rather long, I was worrying if it’d reach to me as the edge of my desk is quite far, but it reaches no problem.

Seriously worth the money if you use your mic frequently, whether it’s for YouTube recording, Twitch streams or anything of the sorts.

I made the mistake of buying a cheap boom arm to save money but you get what you pay for don’t you? It was hopeless. I decided to stop being so tight and went for the proper version – this one. A million miles from the cheap crud I tried first – this does everything it’s supposed too. It holds a 1kg Sontronics ST-2 with shock guard and pop shield quite happily. Very smooth operation – pivots easily and the scissor arm works beautifully. Absolutely no complaints here.

The clamp fits perfectly to my desk too and has a form of protection to prevent it marking the desk when pressure is added. Overall this is a solid product and I absolutely would recommend buying it!

I know a few people who have bought the cheaper after market versions of this. While they have got it to work, they usually don’t hold the weight of a heavy microphone like the Rode NT-USB which I use with this. My budget was low, but I pushed the boat out and couldn’t be happier with this boom. It attached to my desk in under a minute and it holds any position you put it into. If like me you do a lot of audio work, this is a must buy. Also I received this much quicker than originally suggested, so kudos to the supplier.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPerfect for anyone looking for a sturdy and well build boom arm.

I bought this to use with my Blue Yeti, although I had heard that the Yeti was to heavy for it I wanted to find out for myself, I’ve now been using it for over a year and have a setup that uses the Yeti, Radius Shock Mount and Blue Pop Filter all hanging on the end of the boom arm and not had any issues at all with it, the boom arm stays exactly where I place it and only has a small amount of creaking when repositioned but not without you interacting with it.

This is a robust, professional quality microphone boom. I bought this & attached a Rode shock mount to take the Rode Procaster mic. It is silent in operation & holds the mic in exactly position I want. There are no external springs so nothing that creaks or makes any kind of unwanted noise.I comes with two possible mounting options, one which simply clamps to the desk without leaving a mark & one which requires a hole being drilled through the mounting surface. I use the clamp & it is perfect. I have seen booms of similar quality costing twice the price. Don’t be tempted to buy a cheaper inferior boom as you will be disappointed, it’s worth spending the extra to buy quality. A purchase I am delighted with.

Yes, this isn’t cheap. Yes, there are plenty of lower cost options. But if you’re using even a medium-priced microphone and want to get the best results the extra cash is worth it. This is a very well-made piece of kit. Once the mic is in place it’s perfectly balanced and stays in position. The screws tighten and remain tight. It’s easy to move in and out of position. The desk clamp fixes securely. I’ve no hesitation in recommending this. I’m using it was an Editors Keys SL600.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI’ve looked at other boom arms on Amazon and read reviews about them being cheap and flimsy, so instead of just spending 20 on a cheap boom microphone arm I decided to go with RODE, a trustworthy brand.

I was not let down, the sturdy design leaves you feeling confident that your microphone is supported securely. The PSA1 comes with two mounting options, a clamp and a desk insert. Sadly the clamp was slightly to small to fit under my desk so I had to use the desk insert. It’s not massive so you wont have to cut a huge hole in your desk and it comes with clear instructions telling you how to fit it and what size the hole needs to be.

The PSA1 also comes with a great feature where when you lift or lower the upper half of the arm the microphone remains at your original angle, meaning you can point your condenser mic and freely move the arm for different recording positions.

The arm also has a fantastic reach, one of my main concerns when fitting it was that i want to be able to sit back in my chair and still talk at a normal level. Thankfully the arm, when fitted can almost lay flat against the desk meaning no matter how far you are away from the mounting point you’ll have plenty of reach.

  91. CaroleChristoph says:

The arm is built like tank and is very easy to set up. It comes with a second thread adapter to fit alternative mics. Although when screwing it on it pushed a piece of plastic inside my mic due to the standard screw digging into it since the alternative on is smaller. Although the build quality of my mic could be to blame. Just wish that Rode made the adapter equal lengh to the standard one which would of prevented this happening.

Although it didn’t break my mic is just means when moving it a piece of plastic will rattle round which won’t be too much of an issue since my mic is stationary when in use.

Despite this I am very happy with the boom arms quality and is a safe purchase if you are unsure on what arm to buy.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have seen a lot of people ask about the Rode PSA1 and whether it will fit with the Blur Yeti or not. I bought both together without the shock mount and it fits perfectly. The Rode PSA1 comes with a small gold adapter that screws into the bottom of the Blue Yeti. This can then be screwed onto the arm itself. It took only a few seconds to setup and seems very stable and secure. This is a great piece of kit and is exactly what I needed. I used the clamp attachment rather than having to screw any holes in my desk, and it is very stable. Once the microphone is screwed on, it’s very easy to maneuver. This is of great build quality and would definitely recommend to anyone else who is looking at buying a Boom Arm.

Golden Review Award: 45 From Our UsersGot this in the post today, I upgraded to next day shipping via DPD at 18:55 on the previous day! I was extremely impressed by this.

The product itself is superb! The packaging from the seller left something to be desired, they used a brown paper over the the box instead of putting inside a cardboard box, luckily it arrived with no apparent damage to packaging.

I have a corner glass table and it fits on it just fine. I was concerned that when fitting the mount that it would mark the desk, it hasn’t! The instructions that come with it are relatively poor, when mine arrived it had the locking pin the wrong way around for me to hang the mic from, easily corrected once I figured out how to do it.

I did however notice some marks on the actual stand itself but nothing which has made me think twice about sending this back.

4 stars due to packaging / instructions / marks

Had a really cheap boom arm before i go this and it was pure crap, barely held up my microphone. I ordered this one as its reviews proved hopeful, and i was not dissapointed, the arm holds my microphone in place without any slipping/dropping down. This Boom arm is a a god send, its a lot more expensive than any others on the market, but then again its a hell of a lot better than the rest.

    Definitely worth a buy!

    Works very well.

Was previously using a 15 quid non-brand swivel mount that when combined with a mic would constantly droop over time. This caused nast creaking noises during recording 😛 The clamps also sucked and needed tightening all the time.

This thing however is a beast. Clamped it to my desk and it’s stayed there, tight and secure ever since. The mic stays where I put it and it’s got decent positioning and reach.

I have it holding an Electrovoice RE320 and a shock mount with no problems
    .
You’ll need an XLR cable if you haven’t got a loose one (my previous mount has 1 built in so never had a separate one). It does have ways of cable managing the cable though.

Definitely think it’s worth the price.

I bought this to go with a Rode Procaster mic and shock mount. The arm mounts easily using the G Clamp, am alternative more permanent mount is supplied requiring a hole to be drilled. It balances nicely with the mic and it’s mount attached and is very easy to place in any position. The only niggle I have is the arm swivels on the base too easily. My mount must have a slight slope as the mic keeps swinging away. It could use some sort of adjustable friction on the base as a cure. I am also a bit worried that the arm wont readily stay in position after a while when the pivot joints have worn a bit. There doesn’t seem to be any adjustable tensioning similar to most angle poise lams that I have seen.

Apart from the few slight issues I am very pleased with the quality and how it performs.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersI have to be honest, at first I was unwilling to lay down 70-80 on a studio arm. I was thinking of purchasing a cheaper 30-40 one instead.

I’m happy that I finally decided to purchase this though, works as intended with the Blue Yeti microphone and is very sturdy. I’ve had no issues with weight and the arm has a good spring system in it.

I thought mine was broken at first as the arm wouldn’t stay at certain positions but it turns out that you need the Microphone attached for it to act as a counterweight.

I wasn’t sure the PODCASTER TABLE STAND AND ARM KIT would accept my Blue Yeti mic. In the end I went for it anyway and after delivery happily discovered it comes complete with a threaded adaptor suitable for the Yeti. Well made, clamps solidly to the table and out of the way where you can’t kick it over, puts the mic exactly where you want it, moves silently and smoothly, looks good. The right buying decision? Must admit the PHOTO as some have mentioned is misleading as it shows a microphone and fixture already fitted, most sites have this blanked out. However having done my research I knew what I was getting and this is actually a very good price, could not find it cheaper inc.delivery anywhere else.
