Really sturdy and well made boom arm! Really happy about the quality and what I love the most when you moving around there is no spring sound!

The RODE microphone boom arrived promptly and was easy to clamp to the office desk. The quality of the arm is very good, with excellent spring resistance where required. Would recommend again.

Seems quite sturdy. Explanation of how to adjust the tension was a little confusing but once done seems fine. Noty been used for any length of time yet so cannot comment on how it hold up in use.

I purchased this to use with the Rode NT-USB Microphone & the PSM1 Shock Mount.

It took minutes to get them all set up – I have left the cable running along the outside of the struts rather than inside them)

It holds my microphone without any issues & no sign of slipping despite the fact I have a fascinated child constantly readjusting the position of the mic any time I’m not looking.
This means it’s been moved more in the first week than it would have been moved by me in a year.

I sometimes use this standing up; other times sitting down & can position this to have my mic in a good place whichever option I pick.
I can also pull it forward enough that my mic doesn’t pick up the sound of my computers fans (a problem with my old set up)

It is a little fiddly to access the dials & headphone port on the side of my microphone with the shockmount in place, but I have small fingers so can get to them all okay.

    Very happy with my purchase.
The only thing I would change if I could is that I wish there were 4 velcro ties for cable management instead of 3 but that is a very small niggle.

I literally just hold the mic and move it where I’d like it and then let go of it; and it just stays there
IT feels like being an astronaut when they let go of a pen and it just hovers there. Aboslutly Superb boom arm has made my life so much easier.
To move a traditional boom stand you have to unlock it and then it flops about the place; with this I just move the mic to where I want it to be and let go of it and it just stays there
Because as well as having to unlock it to change it, you have to move yourself out of position to reach over and unlock/relock it so it’s like a bothersome guessing game.

But no more, this thing is brilliant, don’t buy the cheaper alternatives, save a little longer and buy this one.

Serious Boom Arm worth every penny

Fantastic, does exactly what it’s meant to do. Build quality is spot on – bought this to replace 2 broken cheap 15 arms that I went through, should have just gone with this to start with!

I rarely post reviews but feel compelled. Must have googled a dozen reviews of cheaper boom arms before plunging for this. It is total quality and the arm when placed stays in precisely the same position. You really do sense the quality and, for the few bucks you might save with a cheaper product, this is worth its weight in gold. If buy multiple units in a heartbeat.

Ok, so I had a cheap 20 boom arm before… It looked pretty much exactly the same, give or take the visible screws and it was a bit shorter…

These are in a different league all together!!… They look much neater set up with the nice desk clamp or the recessed fittings also supplied…
But the big selling point is the mic stays exactly where you want it!… Push it away and pull it back and it’s in the exact same position again!!

I have an AKG condenser and an Rode Podmic which work really well… With my shure handheld SM58, the tension needs to be adjusted… It’s just not heavy enough… But that’s not what these are made for.

I do like this boom arm well made the screws to stop it moving are abit soft to the point I actually damaged the screw head tightening it maybe it was me being stupid I donno. I attached a rode mini to it works lovely doesn’t pick up no vibration or anything. Good buy would recommend

    Good but pricey

I use this RODE arm for my Twitch and YouTube videos and it is very solidly built and doesn’t have a tendency like other arms do where they move out of position because of poor quality parts etc over time. This arm stays exactly wherever I position it for as long as I need it to and coupled with a good shock-mount and wind/pop-filter it is the perfect purchase for anyone looking to bring their mic closer to them for a better sound from their microphone.

The arm can be set up by either screwing it directly into a desk or using the adjustable vice that comes with the arm to grip a desk-edge. I have used this now for a fair few months and cannot recommend it highly enough for people wanting to get a good quality boom-mic arm.

Truly one of the best affordable boom stands there is. I’m using it for recording at my desk with the Shure SM7B… and that’s where the “but” comes in. If you’re using that Shure mic you will need to get their extension tub as the mic’s XLR connector stops your mic from swivelling freely. Really that’s the only downside, the stand itself is incredible.

The se2200 is not one of the lighter microphones so need sturdy support.
The PSA1 provides that support while making the positioning of the microphone easy.
Perhaps the most impressive thing is that once the microphone is in position it stays there, none of the annoying drooping or sagging, and so gives good stability.
It is quite heavy in itself sturdily built and should give years of service.
But beware when unpacking and setting up, the springs are strong, and it can become a finger nipper!
If you just want a “Fit and Forget” friend to hold your mic, go for it!

I mainly bought this for two reasons – 1. if i use a microphone on a desk stand it sits a bit too low so it doesn’t pick up my voice as well as it should. 2- my microphone was picking up noises around me such as the laptop fan etc.
I was slightly confused when I first got it, as the spring loading felt quite strong so wondered if it would stay in place with the microphone attached. It was also a bit fiddly to get a good position on the back of my desk to clamp it too, not a fault of the arm, just limited available space. When i did get everything in place and the microphone mounted though I was very pleased. The arm moves very smoothly and clamps very firmly in place. It looks the part and just feels a professional bit of kit and now I am very pleased I got it, recommended!

Grea mount. Arrived quickly. Easy to assemble. Unfortunately it is not really suitable for lighter mics like the sennheiser 416 as the spring loaded mechanism proved too strong. If you have a tlm103 or Rode NT1 the weight is fine.

This is one stable mic stand. Paired with the Blue Yeti I was sceptical about saving a few quid and buying a knock off. Glad I didn’t they were all poorly reviewed and said that they couldn’t hold the weight of the Yeti. This CAN!

Extremely easily. Holds it’s position with little shakes or dips after a new positioning, as it isn’t screwed into the base plate there is no fear of it coming loose or the thread being worn out, just don’t lift it up loads and you’ll do fine. Full 360 degree motion from the base and really good reach and height on the arm itself. Included velcro ties are fab and really robus

I use a microphone for voicing over videos and presentations, and for conference calls.
When I need the microphone I can swing the boom so the mic stays in exactly the right position for recording. When I have finished I can swing the boom back out of the way to keep my desk clear.
The boom clamps rigidly to my desk, and also comes with an alternative fitting that can be inserted into a hole drilled through the desk. Velcro straps hold the mic cable neatly in place. The boom itself seems very well made and of good quality, so I anticipate it will last for many years.

I got this stand to replace the more budget oriented Neewer desk clamp stand and it is a night and day difference.

Although the Neewer stand did the job, after switching from the Elgato Wave:1 to the Shure MV7, it was visibly noticeable that the Neewer stand was struggling to hold the weight of the Shure mic. I did notice that the connector point from the actual desk clamp to the mic arm had the common issue of basically bending to a 90 degree angle due to the weight of a microphone.

My first initial thoughts of opening this stand was that you can tell it was extremely high quality, and the fact it is spring loaded is just phenomenal, as it allows for much more manoeuvrability and better positioning overall! The one thing I will say, is that I thought I had a faulty unit to begin with, as where-ever I would position the mic, the spring loaded tension would kick in and the mic arm would raise itself up. I then found a video online explaining that if this happens, all you need to do is tighten the flathead screws in both the joints, one being at the “elbow” of the stand (not the screw down near the actual base itself, but the one above that) and the screw directly behind the mount for the mic. Upon tightening these both to the right amount after attaching my MV7, I have had absolutely zero issues, and the mic arm is perfectly weighted to stay in place, and has a perfect length to pull towards my mouth even if I am sitting back and relaxing in my chair!

I was a bit sceptical at first to spend the money on it, but I’m completely certain that I won’t have to buy another mic arm anytime soon, so it is a completely worthwhile investment 🙂

I bought this mount as a set with the rode microphone and have used it for about two weeks. One thing I will say immediately is that It takes a bit of getting used to as the arm keeps extending uncontrollably however this was fixed by screwing the joints more tighter.

The screw that fastens it to the desk is also not as sturdy however I’m not sure if this is the case with just mine or in general.

Overall I’m happy but Rode should do more quality testing as there it’s just an unnecessary hassle especially considering the price I paid.

The Covid Pandemic saw a lot of professional broadcasters having to move their work from a studio setting to remote working. That means creating their own home studio. That’s something I’ve been doing over the past few months.

I’m happy to report that this mic arm is up to Rode’s usual high standards. Although I have not seen these mic arms in a professional studio I’d have no problem recommending they could be used in that setting.

I have mine clamped to my desk (opposed to the other option of drilling a hole) and it seems to work perfectly.

The mic arm was installed less than a week ago, but already it feels like a very integral part of my setup. My experience doesn’t have too many days of use, but from what I’ve experienced so far I have no issue at all in saying this is an excellent purchase.

I have a 2 mic setup and so far I’m still using my second mic on a stand. I’m seriously contemplating putting that on a Rode arm too.

First off this is a fantastic product and I would recommend it. The build quality is great and it’s quick and easy to set-up, at least with the desk clamp as I have not used the alternative option (be careful though as it is spring-loaded).

I purchased this for use with the Shure SM7B. It is compatible, you just need to use the 3/8″ thread adapter on the mounting screw, which both the arm and SM7B provide. The only drawback is the thumb tabs to rotate the mic mounting screw get in the way of the SM7B’s XLR connector, a very minor inconvenience but it does slightly limit the angles you can get the mic a

After using a cheap boom mic stand for months that only really supported my condenser mic by balancing on top of my monitor it was time to bite the bullet and get a angle poise arm. Worried about the weight Of mic I went for the best, a rode. Out the box it came with a caution about springiness and 2 mounting options – hole or clamp. I went for the latter. I used the enclosed straps to add my cable then mounted microphone. But at 300g it was too light! There is no adjustment screw (ignore those online that say fiddle) there’s only 3 real options- return, replace mic, add weight. I have added a 500g exercise cuff, and lo the stand works as advertised. Read the small print! Even some rode mics don’t measure up, should be at least 700g. (Shame no adjustment screw).

Bought the rode boom arm for my NT1-A rode microphone. It is a secondhand bought from the amazon warehouse.
It had some minor imperfections but it doesn’t matter to me, I was more focused on its purpose and use.

    Pros:
    -its really durable
-design is decent but could be better
-cable management is alright, it has the option of putting the cable, inside the frame
-the yellow caution, was important, regarding the spring should be followed as it really sprang straight ones I have removed it.
-additional adaptor was very good, I needed one to fit my microphones.
-have given me more space on my table

    Cons:
-instructions on adjusting is lacking; I tried to loosen the screws around to know its functions (I am complete beginner using a boom arm)
-the arm needs a weight resistance to fully adjust as when I was using it without any microphone, it was going higher.
I think there should be a cushion on the clamp; the steel adjustable below the clamp should have an additional cushion, as it may damage the table to where it is attached.

Overall, really happy with it, even though it was secondhand from amazon warehouse, it is still good and the price was much more acceptable when reduced. Good quality and highly recommended.

Review for RODE PSA1 Boom Arm

  37. Sweta Tiwary says:

Easy to assemble and performs exactly as you’d expect.

There are cheaper options out there but if you want peace of mind and an excellent product, don’t hesitate to buy the PSA1.

The only problem, without a microphone attached, the arm has some tight springs and will bounce up. There’s screws on the joints that will minimise this, but it creeps up eventually. If you keep the mic on the stand there’s no problem and it can be tucked away like in the picture.

Also, when in use, the arm will stay perfectly in place and you don’t have to apply any significant pressure to move it around. Has a real nice feel when adjusting.

    Fantastic product.

Review posted after almost 3 months of use/installation.

This is the first mic mount I have ever used. I purchased this after watching/reading a plethora of reviews. It is considered as the best product in its class.

    Installation:

My desk has a metal bar on the underside running all along the entire desk. So I thought I would have to use the grommet to install. However, I managed to use the clamp although it does not sit flush under the desk. It has given me no problems.

The only part that confused me was installing the mic to the end. The two knobs at the top do not tighten despite the mic being secure. I am unsure if this is how it was intended. But it works _()_/

    Design & Build:

The arm is solid and sturdy and when you lift it out the box you will feel that there is some good weight to it.

Okay, now the base and how it functions. I have read reviews and reddit anecdotes on the base as it has given some folks struggle. Basically, the arm just slots in to the base and sits there. There is no lock type mechanism to keep it in place. Some folk think this is an error or poor design.
I have had no problems with this and it seems like this is the way the arm is supposed to be attached to the base. Surprisingly, it works perfectly and has given me no problems.

    Price:

My final gripe is with the price. This may be the best in class but this is overpriced. I guess if it is really durable and stands the test of time it will be worth it though.

    Fulfills Its Function. Overpriced.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersMUCH better quality and bigger than my clanky (albeit 15) Neewer arm. The Neewer held up my SM7B but it just felt completely brittle. The arm was clearly cheap though functional. I was concerned about the Rode arm at first because I couldn’t find any pictures of the actual clamp. I just assumed that the cone shaped thing was screwed into the desk and so I didn’t consider this arm because of that. I took the gamble and sure enough that clamp is there and the desk option is a quality metal thing to insert into a drilled desk.

The joins of this arm are very sturdy and they hold my heavy SM7B in place. I’ve heard only a few squeaks out of it. I’ve heard that it’s a bad idea to oil, since might no longer take the weight of a heavy mic due to lack of friction. It swings in the clamp stand (the cone) freely and can rotate quite fast. I swung the mic into play to do some quick vocals and it nearly swung and hit my screen. My fault however. The quality of the straights on this arm are clearly thicker than my previous arm (which bent) and the arm is heavy overall.

Whilst fitting the SM7B mic, I was concerned that there wasn’t enough clearance to plug the XLR into the SM7B holder due to the chrome tighteners. I managed to get it in, but it’s at a slight angle and putting lateral pressure on it. The arm has an option to put the actual wire inside the frame, but I’ve no idea how to do this unless I were to be electrically savvy and good with a soldering iron to take apart an XLR cable!

Overall, really pleased. My ‘studio’ is maturing as I age. I’m proud of my mic and this arm is the icing on the cake.

Great mic arm. I have used many cheaper versions in the past and decided to spend a bit more and get this one. I am not disappointed. I do a lot of voice over work and audio editing and this arm is fab. It sits where you want it when you are recording, doesn’t wobble or move and holds my, heavy, mic with ease. Having tried cheaper arms, I must say that I’m delighted with this model. The table clamp is solid and doesn’t wobble at all. It’s easy to push the mic away and return it to it’s original position. Works better than expected with the rather heavy Rode Pod mic and also with the significantly lighter Neumann BCM706. It’s well made and requires minimal fuss to set up. One of the best additions to my home studio. (No squeaking issue with mine either). Highly recommended!

What I love about this arm is that its quality, I’ve used it all day after the easiest setup in my life, I am a big fan of my rode NT USB for streaming and discord as I can pair it with a pair of good quality studio headphones and have a great sound quality experience in my ears as well as with my mic, if I stream or use discord, however the stand the NT USB came with I had to have close to me so I would always knock the mic over or worse you could hear me type or click even sometimes with noise suppression/noise gates. Also the mic then sounds “airy” as there is a lot of room between me and the mic now there is not problem what so ever, I swing the mic in when I want to use it and out when not needed, saving ample desk space and also being able to fix many sound issues, with regards to quality, it feels like a high quality Item, if you don’t mind the investment I couldn’t recommend this highly enough

The arm is very easy to install and set up however the mounting point for the microphone is a little tricky and sometimes frustrating. The arm (or at least mine) has a creek at the middle joint when I move it sometimes which isn’t very pleasing but easily ignorable if you leave it in one position all the time.

Extremely high quality, sturdy and very posable. Would recommend going for this as an investment over cheaper alternatives. Fits my RODE NT1-A perfectly with the shock mount and a huge upgrade over my modmic I had prior. Can move great distance and hold its position, and be moved well out of the way when not in use. Paired with a scarlet 2i4 audio interface & DT 770pro beyeredynamic headphones w/DAC.

Only slight hinderence I had was trying to pose the mic with the end of the stand. All is needed is to secure it in place, the use the shock mount fixing to pose it precisely where its wanted.

For years I used one of those cheap mic arms which came in a bundle. Never again.

This arm might look expensive but it’s a beautifully built, full swivel arm which is so easy to attach to a desk as the mounting point and the arm detach from each other with just a pull, the mounting point also has a flush metal backing so it can easily be added to desks that are against walls unlike the bundle mounts which has a screw at the back.

It is a spring loaded arm so it will need some weight, though your microphone should weigh enough to hold it in any position needed for your use.

Unlike bundle arms, this arm is also quite tall, with the first join being taller than bundles ones, giving it a better reach and moving it out of the way of your arms. A common issue I had with bundle arms was that the arm as too low, and would end up being close to my mouse or keyboard hand depending on which side it was on, so if I moved my hand away to get a drink I would end up punching the arm – which of course is picked up on the mic.

Seems pretty sturdy to me! It holds my Rode NT-USB well (as it should!). I’m guessing the 1 star reviews just got a bad batch. If it squeaks at any point, just add some WD40 I guess. Happy with my purchase

Its very sturdy, strong and well made. I just wish it had a bit more manoeuvrability without having to buy other parts like shock mounts to position the mic in more ways. I also wish the bolt to hold the mic up / in position had a bit more clearance for cables and gripped better.
over all it feels like this will last me a very long time and I’m happy with my purchase.

Good mic arm, using it with my Yeti Nano at the moment.
With just the Mic on the arm it’s too light for you to keep it in place if you want it low down, springs back up.
Instructions with it aren’t the best, had an issue with fitting the mic properly to the arm because it’s not very clear.
If you attach your mic and it spins around it’s because the two knobs on the side need tightening, it doesn’t seem right but basically the two knobs on either side put pressure on the cylinder in the middle that otherwise spins freely.
You have to put a lot of pressure on it so you have to make it really tigh

This is quite easily the best microphone stand for under 100 in my opinion. I was almost going to go for the cheaper options available on Amazon but decided to shell out for this & was not disappointed! My only gripe would be the lack of cable management.

I ordered the Rode PSA1 to replace one of the cheaper boom arms, and while I was expecting an improvement, I’m impressed with just how much of an improvement the PSA1 actually is.

    In no particular order:

    – The (not-in-desk) mounting mechanism is robust, as is the microphone mount, and while there is a little bit of wobble when the boom arm is extended, it’s no where near the amount of wobble my cheap boom arm generates. The Rode is positively solid in comparison. Movement range is 360 degrees, and manipulating the arm is easy.

    – The spring mechanism is internal rather than external, which gives it a nice clean look. This _is_ a weighted mechanism, so microphone assemblies of a certain weight are required (in this case, a shock mount was required to make my microphone heavy enough to keep the boom arm in place).

    – The build quality is excellent. The PSA1 is high quality construction.

In terms of negatives, I don’t have much to say. The arm is weighted so microphones under that weight won’t work here, and it would be nice if the item weren’t so expensive. Maybe an extra velcro tie would have been nice (four instead of three).

However, unless you receive a faulty unit there’s not much to complain about here. It’s absolutely worth the premium over those cheaper boom arms and I’d recommend the Rode to anyone in a heartbeat.

A little pricey, but worth the cos

Great quality boom arm. Don’t waste your time with cheap options.

It is balanced and stable. The desk clamp is great and simple to use.

I use it to hold Rode shotgun mics and various large diagram condensors. No problems at all.

Bear in mind that when this is closed down it will try to spring open.

I’ve used the boom arm with a blue Yeti Nano. It was quick and easy to setup. It is pretty manoeuvrable, and I can place the microphone exactly where I need.

The build quality is very good. With the Yeti Nano it does not drop or rise in an undesired way. It holds my placement perfectly.

Clean slick design, better than all the rest.

If you’re looking for a mic stand that lasts weeks/months sure, go ahead and purchase the cheap ones (I’ve had to replace them twice)

Finally went and decided to order this, and It’s sturdy, smooth and doesn’t squeak

    Highly recommend this stand.

I know you can buy cheaper but this design, quality of build and thoroughness is very good.
Used with Rode Podcaster, and clamped to a table it stays in place even when extended to the full. Worked with plenty of people who use cheaper clone items and they complain about vibration and unable to use to the ful extent of the capabilities. Pleased, would recommend to pay the extra for the Rode product over ‘clone’ / lookalikes.

I have used multiple desk mounts, boom arms and small tripods for my Mics but none are as easy and good as this, it clamps onto your desk (or you can screw it on) and its extremely stable. i have used all my strength to try and move it while its clamped on and i couldnt budge it an inch so dont worry about it moving on its own.

It supports a good amount of weight, currently i use an Audi Technica 2020 mic and it holds it like a champ in any position with no sway or drooping.

The stand is completely flexible unlike alot of others, normally you would have to unscrew sections of the arm to move them, with this you dont, it does it all on its own. if you wanna move it up you just raise it and it will stay in its new position, want it lowered then just lower it. Highly suggest this for any streamer or youtube content producer. it is the go to mic boom.

Very stable, smooth moving and holds exactly where you want it. Not much more to say, you won’t be mad about the money you spent, worth it.

Bought this to go with my Rode PodMic and i have no regrets at all.

This mic arm has a great construcion, the arm extends smoothly and with little resistance compared to some other arms i have owned in the past. The PodMic attached to it does cause the arm to dip slightly btu only by half an inch if that. The arm has 360 degree swivel and extends a reasonable distance.

My only issue is that when folded it does not lock in place, instead the springs force it to snap back to being nearly fully extended and i nearly took my eye out when i first opened this thing up but apart from that it is a great quality product and i would definitely recommend to anyone if theyre willing to pay the price for i

A great mic arm, my Razor Siren Elite fits straight onto it and I am now able to position it anywhere that works for me. My only criticism is it is quite expensive for what it is.

This item is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for use with any microphones, and I am that pleased with it as I ended up buying another (not from Amazon) not from Amazon because they sold out within a half hour period during which I secured my purchase.
In deciding, which boom arm to go for this is a NO BRAINIER!
    Just do it!

This is a great product for the RODE mic. It is heavy but once you put the mic in it is like magic you can adjust it by moving it. It came really well wrapped up and I though what an exaggeration but I drop it and it chips really easy so when you take it out of the box put it in its final place straight away. I am not sure it is worth it to get the mic without this swivel arm.

That’s the only way to describe the RDE PSA1…butter smooth. Every time I checked for this product it was annoyingly unavailable. Hopefully, that demonstrates it being in-demand, due to it’s build quality. Easy to install, and it completes part of my office set-up.

  82. Alexandra Able says:

Sturdy and holds its position well.
Arm doesn’t creak when moved, but when tapped, resonates with a ‘clang’ which you’d think might make it into recordings when the desk is jolted or the arm moved, but I’ve not noticed it yet.
    Overall, happy with it.

Without a doubt a well built microphone stand, nothing negative to say about the product very solid, really good job by RODE. Packaging was disgraceful though, box was showing up and I honestly think someone peaked at the package because it was attractive, fortunately nothing was missing.

The PSA1 is a quality product. The movement is silky smooth and effortless, but once positioned, it stays put. The build quality is also great. It feels substantial and strong. The Rode branded velcro ties for cable management, are a nice touch.

Initially bought a much cheaper generic version and it broke as soon as I mounted the mic on it, the genuine Rode version is infinitely better and supports the mic and shock cage perfectly. Far more robust and extremely well made. Well worth the extra cost.

I couldn’t be happier with this microphone boom arm. Last week I order a cheap mic arm for 16.99 and I had to return it because it was absolutely unusable, so I decided to try this one and I am so pleased.
It was easy to mount and the clamp is big enough to fit my 6.5cm thick desk.
You can easily move it and it’s stays exactly where you place it.

My online gaming friends recommended this Rode PSA1, to me and now I can see why they buy it, it’s much stronger and heavy also easy to setup on the desk and when you pay out good money for the Blue Yet X microphone that I have you don’t want to put it on a cheap boom and I wouldn’t buy any cheap boom arm copies sold on Amazon,

So I Recommended RODE PSA1 to anyone who is looking for a good value Boom for their microphone.

It is very sturdy, durable and large. The clamp is the same.
It is definitely worth the cost. It swivels seamlessly and although you don’t secure it in the clamp, there is no way it will accidentally come out like on cheaper arms.

If I let’s say die mid-game, I can just ever so slightly shove it up effortlessly and it’s out the way so I can do other stuff. I can tuck it behind my monitor as its tall enough unlike my old cheap arm. This review is small as it’s midnight.

Love it – it’s just arrived and it took 2 minutes to set up and it works perfectly with my Rode NT1A mic. You get what you pay for and I couldn’t be happier. It’s exactly what I wanted.

You can move it in any direction and it won’t move a part that is unexpected. If you’ve not used a cheaper one you may not know what I mean. But, the arms move totally independently which gives you so much greater freedom of movement. Thoroughly worth the money. If you can afford it, get it over it’s cheaper counterparts.

After many cheaper boom arms that left my feeling unsatisfied with performance I finally took the plunge and bought the Rode Boom arm. Totally worth it. Super sturdy on my desk and easy to move the microphone to and from my face. Can’t believe I wasted so much time and money before with cheaper arms. This will be the first and last boom arm you ever buy if you get this instead of cheaper boom arms.

i need to clamp it at an angle above my monitor and have it drop down. unfortunately it only works when the clamp is attached upright, otherwise the arm will slide out.
Certainly great for a standard desk mount.

  97. Katie Lee says:

I like how sturdy it is and the way it keeps the angle the same. The clamp is perfect. -1 star as I didn’t receive the metal desk insert.

  98. Kevin Hardy says:

Holds it’s position well, easily adjusted and has plenty of reach.

Two very minor gripes that wouldn’t put me off buying another but for the sake of being fussy. The cable management down the arm isn’t great, velcro straps have no locating lug or stopper so will slide after a while. A non issue to be honest but it catches my attention. Gripe number two is a little more pertinent. The clamping face that mates with the underside of the desk is small – if you were to accidentaliy knock the arm with enough force with the clamp torqued up, the lip of the face could impress into the desk if it’s soft. An unlikely but possible event.

Am still 100% I’ve got this all the same.

I wanted a cheap version of this, as I could not see why you would need to pay more than 20 for a simple piece of equipment. However, I quickly realised that it’s better to pay more now than pay twice over (and more) for peace of mind.

You pay for quality and solid build with good mounting options. A silent and ergonomic addition to the studio. A purchase I haven’t regretted.

And it works really well, with really smooth movement.
