Very handy little saw, no messing about with cables. Only used it for cutting branches up to now. No problem cut tip to 3 inches diameter, battery life seems ok, but they provide 2 to be on the safe side. Can easily be used single handed. All in all very pleased with it, a good price and very fast delivery.

What a super saw, i have been needing to prune a small fir tree outside our front door for some time now, i have had silly quotes from tree surgeons so i have been looking at reciprocating saws and small chain saws. Finally decided on the HYCHIKA best choice ever, as the branches varied in thickness i also bought a packet of sabre tooth blades a bit bigger than the ones supplied. Batteries charged i was ready, spent about an hour trimming alot of branches and the two top shoots and the battery was fine i had no need to use the second . I am seventy five years old and i found using this saw quite easy, nicely balanced [two handed] but can be used one handed not to heavy easy to change blades distance pad and batteries, as other reviewers have noted could do with a case though currently using the box to store and on the lookout for a suitable case.

A versatile tool which saved me using my hand saw. In the photos it shows how capable the unit was cutting through some 6″ branches and took 1.5 charged tool batteries. I did purchase special blades to cope with the extra width suitable for tree pruning. Very good value and saved the hassle of using my bulky chainsaw.

    Just what I needed

Very easy to use, and insert/remove blades. Did a really good job of cutting up wooden pallets. Good value for money, and expect to get quite a lot of use out of it.

This saw is so easy to use, it cuts through wood so quickly and effortlessly. I don’t think it’s the best where you want precision clean cuts as it tends to “bounce” when starting off but for your box standard cuts, this is perfect. You don’t have to be a DIY expert to use this, anyone can use it with ease

My first reciprocating saw. Needed to cut up some fence panels and a few branches. Batteries charge quickly and have a button to show remaining charge level which is good. My first foray into Hychika but I like the fact you get the charger and two batteries which are compatible with its other cordless products, which j subsequently invested in. The blade has bent easily on this saw. I don’t know if that’s peculiar to all saws or just this model? Easily straightened, well almost!

    Handy cordless saw

They had a stacking offer on so I bought it. Works well and a bargain at around 35. Only issue is the batteries don’t fit other tools in the range which is plain stupid. Would have been 5 stars if they had been compatible.

It took a short while to get used to the operation of the tool, I have now used it on both wood and metal with pleasing results. Always have the spare battery charging so you don’t get caught out halfway through a job. Did everything I expected of it.

This product has made my life so much easier. I had quite a large tree at the back of my garden, at least 10 metres high blocking the sun all day. That tree is now 4 metres high and I get the sun all day on my decking thanks mainly to this Reciprocating HYCHIKA 18V Cordless Saw.

This arrived, well packed, following day. It appears well made and robust with some thoughtful touches. Changing battery and saw blade is easy. A safety button prevents accidental activation. The saw is quite heavy but a rotating base allows the saw to be positioned comfortably. Supplied with two batteries, I think this item is good value and, for once, has good and thorough instructions with images and in proper English. This is worth consideration if you are looking for a reciprocating saw. Comes with 4 blades but spare standard blades are cheap and easy to get on Amazon.

I bought this as a replacement for an electric wired saw. It’s so much more easy to use that that was. The battery charges reasonably quickly and you get 2, so if one runs out you have another to get on with as you recharge the first.
The saw handles well. You get 2 blades for wood and 2 for metal.
So far, I’ve only used it for wood , but it’s been really good.

Great cordless saw, works well, however if you think you can continually use it by swapping the batteries around you can’t, the batteries will not charge untill they have cooled down from use, it’s not like a drill were you can keep working, your waiting approximately 20 minutes for them to start charging again.

Excellent value, great quality, solidly built, easy and practical to use, very long battery life, makes light work of cutting through my overgrown hedge from light branches through to trunks (up to about 3″/8cm diameter that I’ve used it on so far) and it’s obviously capable of much larger than that.

Had a lot of branches to saw in the garden. I usually buy a big-name brand but they are very expensive and one I considered didn’t even come supplied with a blade! Bought this as I thought I couldn’t miss with the price, even if it only managed the one job and then broke. I was staggered at the quality – heavy, solid and with two batteries and 4 blades. It went through all the branches 4-5 inch diameter, with no problems. I don’t know how long the batteries will last, but am really impressed so far and recommend giving it a go.

I was struggling with a hand Saw. Bending the blade, rough lines, blisters on my hands…. This battery operated Saw is fast and easy to use.
Okay, when I first attempted to use this Saw, I thought I may have made a mistake because it is Loud and vibrated everything from my hand, to the plank of wood and the walls of the garage! After several attempts i learnt how to hold the Saw properly. Its still loud in a confined space but I’ve learnt to deal with that by wearing ear plugs. Anyway, its been a good purchase. For me, Sawing takes minutes rather than almost an hour with a hand Saw.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersSo far I’m very pleased with this product. I’m clearing some overgrown land with fences covered in thick branches of ivy and brambles. There is also an old tree covered in ivy. I’ve got to say that this saw has helped me immensely in cutting through the thick branches. It’s quick and efficient and so far after batches of about half an hour cutting times I’ve only used one battery and it’s never gone flat. The saw blade is easy to insert and take out (hold upright, drop blade in and twist the cog. Hold upside down and twist cog to release the blade). I was dubious to buy it because I didn’t know the branding and it is made in China which put me off, but I’m very pleased that I did. I’ve looked at more expensive, well known products, that do the same job and don’t have exceptional reviews. I don’t think this price can be beaten for the quality of the product.

I use this saw for cutting wood for a log burner. I do not cut logs only old roof beams and wden flooring. It is perfect for my requirements and I was surprised how long the batteries last. I purchased some spare Bosch blades which fit perfectly and are simple to change. Charging time is about an hour but with two batteries it is no problem. Wish it came with a carry case but for the price you can’t have everything.

Used for clearing small trees and bushes in garden. It works extremely well , has good battery life especially as you have 2 included. This saw good quality for a home DIYer and small projects – build quality is good and sturdy and takes a good bit of abuse.. The real downfall of this product is the batterlife – fairly poor and thats why my rating of thus tool is lower.. for continous work i get about 10-15 mins per battery (2 x batteries aresupplied with charger). As i said, perfectly fine for short bursts of work – takes over an hour to charge each battery – hope that helps and manages your expectations of the tool.

I have never used a reciprocating saw before so can’t compare the performance to other makes, but once I’d got the hang of it, this model did exactly what I’d hoped. If new to these tools, the key is to hold the front guard against what your going to saw and then press the trigger and let the blade do all the work without forcing too much. It took a couple of minutes googling to discover how to use the tool properly and minimise the vibration, although I could have just read the instructions that came with the machine instead!

Makes very easy work of cutting 2-3 inch branches, larger was fine too with an under-cut. Haven’t tried it for general woodworking yet, but having watched some Youtube vids, it looks very promising. Cuts metal too with the correct blade ( this model comes with two wood and two metal-cutting blades) and Im going to try some tree pruning blades with coarser teeth which I reckon will be even more efficient for garden work.

What swung it for me with this model was the fact it comes with two fast-charging batteries, and they seem to have very good capacity.

Any corded powertool is cheaper than it’s cordless equivalent, or you get more for the same price, but the freedom of no cables for garden work outweighs that, and this model seems to be a good bet for the lower end of the price range.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI opened the box and placed the batteries on charge, they had about 2/3 charge when they arrived but as I wanted to chop a small tree trunk down I thought I would need both batteries fully charged. I looked in the box for the saw blades but could not find them. I told amazon that they were missing, but that I had already had saw blades which fitted the saw, so no problem. I put the saw away after charging the batteries, ready for use when I could get round to cutting the tree. I was ready to use the saw and opened the instruction package. To my surprise the 4 saw blades were in the manual pack. These saw blades are much smaller than the ones which I already had, which was the reason I did not find them until I was ready to read the instructions.
I cut the tree trunk down to within a couple of inches of the ground. The saw made short work of cutting this 3″ tree trunk in about 5 minutes. I am very happy that I again have a saw which I can use to lop off branches from the trees around my property. I previously had a Macallister cordless saw, but the batteries would not charge after about 2 years and I could not find replacements. Hopefully these batteries will be better being lithium ion batteries instead on nickel cadmium which the previous ones were. At the price this looks like very good value for money.

This is an easy to use and flexible tool. As you’d expect, the battery drains pretty quickly when using it on damp or green wood. When used on dry timber the saw is fast, accurate and easy to use.
With two batteries included in the pack you’ll always have one on charge to keep the work flowing.
In summary, it may not have the continuous power you have from a corded saw, but the flexibility you get from a cordless certainty brings advantages. I’d recommend this tool for general DIY jobs and gardening.

I have the mains powered type which is excellent, but I’ve got to go up into the trees to trim back the branches fouling cables.
I obviously didn’t want to be dragging a mains cable up the ladder behind me so I looked around.
When I saw this I was just so pleased because I’ve already been more than impressed with their screwdiver.
It’s a wonderful tool, a good weight so it’s no cheap plasic, but not too heavy, just about right.
Using it correctly it goes through branches with no problem.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNever had one, never used one but I had a tree to cut up and nothing other than brute strength to do it and I have a very bad back due to several spinal injuries so I thought I would try this.

Perfect worked well and was just what I needed. My elderly mother was taken with it too and after I had shown her how to use it there was no stopping her. I have had it ter ours now and H works as well now as it did then. I actually purchased H to do work at mum’s property after dad died, I have since found he had a mains operated version (different co) and l compared both and preferred the cordless version. Which came in handy recently as I helped a Shepard cut down some laurel trees that had grown on the border of our property and poisonous to sheep etc. The mains wouldnot have reached that far (500 ft) so overall I would recommend this kit.

    Would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHave had this saw only 2 weeks but have used it many times. First thing I did was to buy longer sharper blades than those supplied – I bought Saxon – but any should fit. Only used it to chop tree branches up to around 7-8 cm thick so far and copes really well. Reasonably light too, so you could in theory use it with one hand – though cannot recommended this for safety reasons. Biggest bonus is having 2 batteries so can have one charging while using the other. My wife has also decided to try the saw and she finds it very simple to use. Excellent value overall due to the 2 batteries, highly recommended on performance so far.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersBought primarily for a garden pruning project. Actually the second one I bough . First one – another brand- came equipped with a two-pin plug!

Comes with two wood & two metal blades, although the wood ones would have been too fine for the target tree – more for cut timber but blade fit is universal so ordered some specific pruning blades.

On receipt, charged both batteries in a couple of hours so god fast charger. Easily dealt with the pruning project without any real obvious impact on battery life although al told, probably only on for an hour or so.

Some have commented in reviews of these saws that they felt heavy. There is certainly a weight bias to the base where the battery is located but I didn’t’ find it a problem, Felt pretty well balance, although it is a two-handed use bit of kit. The LED is quite useful addition if you’re sticking it into dark spaces & need to get the cut accurate.

Overall, very impressed and certainly beats pruning saws!

Great product for the money, but the blades may not last too long (depends on use). The wood blade (supplied) went through a 6″ diameter branch like a hot knife through frozen butter. The value for money is a plus and as you get blades and a very sturdy built saw (plus batter) makes this extra value for money product. I have read some negative comments, but that is not what I have found. The blades are easy to exchange and it is a secured system that locks the blade for a strong performance. I will be buying another for my relations as they too were impressed with its performance. Thank you.

Good little tool although battery life is a bit short but you do get 2 batteries so not all bad. Apart from that happy with purchase

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have only had this for a day. Both batteries were fully-charged (blue lights – not red as the manual) Inserted a blade for wood. Then into the garden for a bit of tree-lopping! Brilliant! Chopped off branches up to 3 inches no problem. Easy to hold and operate. And sliced through the wood, even though it was “green”. A really cost-effective solution – many thanks.

Cut down 8 conifer trees that were getting brown. Like a hot knife through butter. Great saw easy for a first timer like me to use and cut the work down by days for me.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersThis reciprocating saw was my last resort in dealing with a stubborn and full with thorns bush .
It`s middle range price but I`m happy with its quality as it helped me finish the job .
Technically speaking , it`s easy to use , with different adjustments like speed , distance of blade , cutting mode ,and it has a straightforward mode of attaching the blades , similar to a jigsaw .
The second battery comes as a good addition as I find it convenient to have both charged and just carry on my work . Nevertheless , it takes about an hour to get a battery back on the track , so I think quite convenient .

Golden Review Award: 44 From Our UsersHaving bought Hychika drills recently, I decided to buy the reciprocating saw to help me cut down an apple tree in my garden. Saw comes with 4 different blades, but not 1 but 2 batteries. This is brilliant because although the battery is suitably powerful, it gives you the opportunity of continuation of work. Great idea.

The saw itself seems pretty strong, sturdy and reliable. The apple tree was actually a 4 hour project which the saw coped with really well. Will definitely look for this brand again.

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersIt’s powerful and very easy to use, changing the blade it’s pretty straight forward, unlock the old blade by pushing the lock button, pull old blade, insert new blade and lock it again.
Batteries have a battery indicator so you can see how much battery left you have, I find that feature very helpful.
Also I really like that in order to work you have to push the trigger and the side button, I think that’s a very good security feature for this kind of tool. I’ve used it to cut wood and fibreglass. It works very well with both materials

Very easy to use. It feels safe
