The difference between this and a component cable is extreme. Even the non-progessive scan games are MUCH cleaner and more fun to play.
Worked perfectly right out of the box, image looks great on my 4K tv. Highly recommend to relive your favourite GameCube games.
The picture produced by the Prism is pretty amazing. It’s the best you’re going to get from an original Gamecube on a flatscreen HDTV, no doubt about it. Make sure to hold B upon console startup to make the game display in “progressive scan mode,” aka 480p, for best results. The vast majority of first-party Gamecube games support 480p and a lot of third-party games do too. For games that don’t, the Prism automatically uses “line doubling” to help.
My only problem with this product is getting the provided remote to bring up the device settings on-screen. It’s a hassle every single time. If not for this, I would give it 5 stars.
Item arrived early, simple plug & play build. Games with Progress scan work fine, you just have to hold B when the disc loads. I have own the component cables before for GC, this is a much more future proof solution and if you like scanlines this provides that option. Yours may ship with firmware pre-3.1, for games like the Resident Evil series, when you transition to menus it will cut audio/blank screen for 2s. This can be resolved by updating your Prism, just make sure you have a USB C cable that can handle data.

Si tu TV o monitor es mximo 1080p incluso se vera mejor que en uno 2k o 4k.
Works like advertised, games look as good as they can on a 4K TV. Don’t expect it to make the graphics better, just a slightly better resolution with the ability to use HDMI like current-gen consoles.

The adapter worked great—except for the TV I intended to use it on. On a spare monitor—perfect. On my older Sony Bravia, everything was very pixelated. For some reason my TV would downscale everything to 240P. If I plugged it in with my capture card between the TV and the adapter, it was a nice 480P signal.
Along with the resolution switching lag issues when switching between gameplay and cut scenes, I decided it was a good product but not for what I have to work with right now.

Para jugar a 480p en una tele Full HD, tiene bastantes opciones y tambien puedes forzar a 16:9 muchos mas juegos. Tiene muchas mejoras de video como scanlines y filtros. Es un must have si quieres sacarle el mayor provecho a la salida de video de tu Gamecube.
Improved the image quality of the GameCube much more than I expected and made it easier to hook up to a modern TV.
Super je suis heureuse de rejouer majora’s Mask. Malheureusement j’ai un soucis le son se dcale par rapport l’action, je dois dbrancher et rebrancher l’hdmi pour que le son ne soit pas dcaler. Si quelqu’un sait le rglage je suis preneuse !
Branch sur un moniteur benq 4k hdr. Simple utilis, la qualit d’image est bien meilleure que la pritel. La tlcomande permet un accs au hud pour activer ou non les scanline

What can I say, my GameCube games don’t look like crap on my HD TV anymore. I can’t speak to the more advanced features because I really don’t care about that. It does the only thing I need it to do, and it does it well.
Work’s great the only thing is it a little difficult using the remote but besides that it’s amazing plug and play

Einfach nur Top Qualitt! Es zaubert ein sensationelles Gamecube Bild auf einem 4K TV aber das sollte man auch bei dem Preis erwarten. Ein zustzlicher Vorteil, man braucht keine gesonderte Strom Quelle.
This will ensure 448p on progressive supported games. For best results add a mClassic to smooth out the jagged edges (see pics).
Great item for casual play and streaming( what I bought it for) the settings are a little difficult to understand at first but with a little fiddling around you can get games super crispy! Also a good thing to know is when you start up any Game Cube game as soon as you turn on the console press and hold the B button this will turn on progressive scan mode which make some games look even better! As long as the game supports it! But was worth money! I highly recommend it!
Der Adapter ist zwar nicht der billigste, aber der einzige der den digitalen Ausgang auf der Gamecube verwendet und die Qualitt ist um lngen besser und endlich auch auf HD Fernsehern ansehnlich. Kann ich nur empfehlen.
Dies ist meine erste Produktrezension, aber ich wollte unbedingt eine schreiben, weil ich so begeistert bin. Nach mehreren Versuchen mit gnstigeren Upscalern, welche nie vernnftige Ergebnisse lieferten, bin ich auf dieses Gert gestoen und bin hochauf begeistert. Es macht, was es soll, funktioniert Plug-and-Play und macht den Gamecube endlich an 4K Fernsehern nutzbar. Sogar Dolby Surround Sound wird wie gewnscht wiedergegeben, ein Feature, das der Nintendo Switch bis heute fehlt. Daher: volle 5Sterne von mir. 🙂
Ich habe nun endlich die Mglichkeit an meinem Monitor zu spielen statt am TV und kann das ganze dann auch noch mit meiner Capturecard aufnehmen, bin sehr zufrieden mit der Bedienung und dem Bild was ich erhalten 480p

Me gust bastante la construccin del conector, se ve bastante slida. El control remoto realmente tiene como 1 metro de alcance, lo que hace realmente incmodo cambiar opciones. Lo otro que no me gust del sistema, es que no tiene opciones avanzadas de video, por ejemplo no tiene suavizador o distintos filtros de imagen, interpolacin como hq o eagle, o filtro bilinear, por lo que eso lo debes ajustar con el televisor. Opciones de sonido igualmente bastante limitada, solo deja subir o bajar volumen . Por sencillez y precio, si lo recomiendo. Funcionando con GC Versin DOL-001 USA
It’s good for what it is, I have the original component cables going to a component to HDMI, no difference to me between the two.
I’m so glad I found this HDMI adapter. This works better than others I have tried and is so convenient since TVs now don’t have many analog connection options. My GameCube games have never looked so good.
Great quality, brings Game Cube back to life. Los of customizations and options. Better than s-video and composite outputs.
My only complaint is that I wish it would save the settings after power-off.
The remote button is hard to use but I got the hang of the HDMI adapter & so far it’s good as smooth.
Much like Insurrection Industries “Carby”, the adapter is among one of the cheaper variants of the GameCube HDMI adapter, while still maintaining a very good build quality for the price. The connector is made of metal, and is designed much like the sought-after Official Component Cables for the system. The difference between this and the Carby is the inclusion of a USB 3.0 port, allowing anyone with a (presumably Windows) PC to update the firmware for newer features. (Other devices with the GCVideo firmware version 3.0 or later require the use of 3rd-party GameCube devices such as the Action Reply, while those with even earlier firmware require the use of linking to JTAG Headers, which would be a lot more difficult for end-users.)
Just be be clear: The Retro-bit Prism isn’t designed to upscale the GameCube’s output of 480p to 1080p, rather its spits out an all-digital 480p signal from beginning to end, eliminating any lag that may result from trying to convert an analog signal back into digital.
As it stands, it is an overall great accessory for owners of the DOL-001 model GameCube (the ones that include a Digital AV Out port).
I use it for my Gamecube player mainly and for it I needed to softmod it with Swiss. You can get away without that, but some games (like 007: Agent Under Fire) only natively output at some terrible resolutions and by using Swiss you can force them to give you that succulent 480p.
Out of all the current options, I highly recommend Retro-Bit (and if you want to get an upscaler to double/triple your resolution after because your TV is bad at it, I’d look into OSSC).

Have to angle remote at adapter though which is not a big deal for me. One thing I would change is the size of it but I don’t think it would be possible for it to be any smaller.

Endlich kann ich meine Gamecube Spielesammlung wieder genieen. Habe viele gnstigere Alternativen ausprobiert, doch keine kommt an diesen Adapter heran. Funktioniert einwandfrei auf meinem 4K-Fernseher und stellt das Bild scharf und ohne Schlieren da. Trotz des hohen Preises, sein Geld wert!
Je viens de le recevoir et de le tester, il faut savoir que j’ai une Gamecube pal franaise et des jeux pal franais, donc thoriquement moins concern par le produit ( ne pouvant profiter du 480p natif )
J’ai quand mme pris le risque et je ne suis pas du. La premire chose qui frappe et la diffrence audio, branch une barre de son la qualit n’a rien voir et est bien meilleure.
Concernant l’image, je ressens un meilleur contraste et une image plus nette. Je vous ai mis une photo avant / aprs pour vous permettre de constater la diffrence.

Works great! The connector fits firmly in the digital port, and the picture quality is great. I love that it has the USB C port on the side for updates, this function sold me on this adapter compared to the others out there, especially the Kaico.
I’m very happy with this product, I love the GameCube and all it’s games and this product has made it much more enjoyable by making every game look less blurry and much more crisp
As of right now, I can’t get progressive scan to work properly, the screen is cut off at the bottom and the chopped-off bit is at the top. Normal mode is amazing! Photos are of a 50-inch TV with 4k upscaling built in. It’s so amazing to have my gamecube put out crystal-clear video like this.
Overall, this is an amazing plug-and-play option to easily convert your gamecube to beautiful HDMI.
