Rotak 36 R UK
Compact and lightweight, suitable for medium lawns.

The mower has a high speed 1350 W ‘Powerdrive’ motor that enables you to cut long grass with ease. It has a 36 cm cutting width, ideal for medium sized lawns and offers a range of adjustable cutting heights.
Bosch ‘Powerdrive’ motor
The Rotak 36 R is a powerful and lightweight lawnmower. The high speed 1350 W motor and innovative gear set work together to keep the blade running at a high rpm by altering the torque supplied by the motor. When the going gets tough, the system senses the increased load on the blade and increases the torque to the motor. This means Full Power!
Innovative grass combs
With inset front wheels and innovative grass combs, the Rotak 36 R can cut grass growing close to or over the edge of the lawn. This ensures that no strips of uncut grass are left behind when cutting around flower beds, walls or paths, reducing the need for trimming.
Lightweight and compact design
Lightweight at only 12 kg, and with its integrated carry handle, the Rotak 36 R is easy to carry and store. It comes complete with a 10 m cable making it ideal for small to medium sized lawns. Additioanlly, the Rotak 36 R features easy z-folding handles and a stackable grass box for convenient and compact storage at a height of only 55 cm. Quick to store and easy to assemble for hassle free mowing.
Ergoflex handles
The sleek Bosch Ergoflex design is based around the comfort and simplicity of computer console handsets, ensuring support and ease of movement. The mower can be operated left, right, one or two handed, horizontally or vertically, giving you 8 different grip positions to control the mower. With an adjustable working height and multi-position handle, optimal power transfer is achieved. Adjusting the mower to your body you can improve posture and reduce muscle strain. Bosch Ergoflex Lawnmowers are the first ever garden products to achieve Ergonomic Certification.

Bought this at a reduced price so very happy. Does what it says on the tin cuts the grass no bother. We just have a small garden so this size suited.
This lawnmower cuts the grass well but the part that collects the grass is a bit flimsy, also I am having a hard time with the guarantee online I have put all the details in yet wont accept it.
I had it to replace a smaller Bosch lawnmower that lasted for about 6 years. The grass box is very flimsy and not a good fit. It doesn’t cut the grass short enough on the lower setting and have been advised to purchase and fit a washer to lower the blade. I wished I hadn’t bought it.
Good value and easy to put together and use. Not overly heavy. Easy to manoeuvre while cutting. Little noisy but it a lawn mower so that’s expected. Easy to adjust cutting high. Only complaint is the collection bin feels a bit flimsy.
An ideal lawnmower and at such a good price. You can’t go wrong with any Bosch product and I compared prices and reviews of other similar lawnmowers and decided on this one.
Not the easiest putting it together but persevere.
The main body is fiddly to put together, but when completed is fine. I would not advise “breaking it down” for ease of storage however. Although the grass box does its job, and takes a lot of grass before it needs emptying, the engineering of it is atrocious. Very flimsy feel, and in fact I have used duct tape to fix the joints in place. Having said that overall , it does do a good job
This is my third Rotak over many years and I still think they are the best value for money lawnmower you can buy. As long as you look after them they work tirelessly cutting efficiently and easily on a medium sized garde
I purchased this model having used an elderly neighbour’s identical mower, whilst cutting her grass for her over the past year. It was easy to assemble (15 minutes), cuts as well as a new mower should, and best of all it leaves no residue cuttings on the lawn as it has excellent air flow and pick up capability. Its light and easy to manoeuvre and has a fairly long lead although I do use an extension cable.
Great product glide and slide through shrubs at ease. Straightforward to assembling instructions. But I’m not happy ,
* It’s not the size I expected
* 2 of the tyres are missing, hence the reasons why I have to return it and order for the next size up . The 36 R.
Very similar to our previous lawnmower same style and very good performance over many years. Economically priced but really cut the lawn very well.
Easy to assemble and realively easy to use as it lightweight . An all round good buy.
After years of using a flymo thought i’d go for a change ! wish i’d done it sooner delighted with this mower looks great easy to set up and cuts without throwing grass everywhere leaving lawn looking great only reason gave 4 stars handle could be easier to fold away
A bit on the heavy side but cuts throguh long grass with ease. Not sure if I will ever utilise the roller properly but all in all faultless for it’s primary job of cutting.
The grass box is a 2/5 hence brings this score down. Yes it collects grass but is not very sturdy and be prepared to leave half your load on the ground everytime you disconnect from the mower.
2nd purchase of this item. Well impressed, ideal for my small lawn and mower couldn’t b easier to handle. Light and efficient. Grass Box is flimsier than previous model, lets see if ot stands the test of time.
Approximately 15 Kg. in weight, is light for a lawnmower, which folds down roughly into a square shape, for minimal storage space.
Mainly of a plastic construction, allowing for the less weight, is robust enough for periodic use.
The 10 metre long electric flex, coloured orange for safety and rubber plug, is sufficient for the smaller garden or medium sized one, perhaps requiring an extension lead.
Always use an RCD circuit breaker, widely available.
There is a red lever for easy grass height selection (2cm-7cm.)
The lawnmower requires initial assembly per the instruction booklet (could be improved), yet is fairly straight forward.
The is no explanation/depiction, how to fold the lawnmower with the grass box after use.
After a little trial and error, I found out how to, which is easy/simple to remember (split the grass box into two.)
The plastic grass box two halves are clipped together, one on top of the other, but do this gently, paying heed to alignment.
It hooks onto the mower’s rear end by lifting the spring loaded hinged flap.
Because of the flexibility in the handle assembly design and necessary economical construction used, means that there is quite a bit of twisting, lifting and lowering of the metal handle pieces and moving around of folded flex to it’s resting position.
Ditto for reassembly.
It gets easier with practice.
The replaceable cutting blade, has a simple nut assembly beneath and cuts grass right up to the edges, due to the recessed wheel design.
I chose this model because of the four on/off switches built into the handle.
Those on the left work in unison depending upon which one is selected; the same for the right hand side, i.e. they work as pairs.
They are all kept powered on when the handle’s central red button is depressed.
Select any switch thereafter to switch off.
The handle may be held by the hands either horizontally or vertically; ideal for the smaller person, elderly or those with dexterity issues.
The rear roller beneath the lawnmower, whilst effective on longer straight lawns, loses it’s benefit on the smaller lawn that requires more twisting and turning when being mowed.
Consequently the roller reduces manoueuvrability (UK spelling) slightly on a smaller lawn.
This is a very efficient mower giving excellent finished results, including gathering moss to allow the lawn to recover it’s best appearance; ask my neighbour.
Was looking for a reasonably priced electric mower and this Bosch slightly bigger and at least 40 cheaper than mymeigh our paid 4 yrs ago. Only downside was the lack of instructions. The book supplied was poorly illustrated – I still cannot find what is the space saving feature. No comparison with the result from my previous petrol mower with roller but easy enough to use and is satisfactory for one medium sized lawn an light enough to move. Also purchased separate 3 Yr warranty at reasonable price through Amazon.
I bought this mower to replace my trusty Rotak 40 which, after 6 years oif sterling service, had burned out the motor after hitting a hidden piece of metal. It was well priced at Amazon and delivered the day after I ordered it via Prime.
Unfortunately, the assembly instructions were for another, previous model but, having assembled my Rotak 40 before, I managed to assemble this model on my own without any problems. The collector box is a bit flimsy and I suspect, will be problematic unless I treat it gently. The attachment points where the basket attaches to the mower are particularly weak. Furthermore, this model does not collect clippings as well as my previous mower but I can live with that.
Overall, I am slightly disappointed with this mower compared to the Rotak 40 but it’s still way better than my previous Flymo hovers.
I really like this mower and am very happy with the purchase. It folds away neatly which is handy for the garage. It gave a very good cut and left nice stripes in the grass. The collector bin as other have mentioned is very thin and a bit flimsy, so I’m worried the plastic clips might break sooner.
This Bosch is much better than my previous one, especially it cuts grass along the edge. Most importantly its suction power is so strong that almost no mess left on the lawn after cutting. Just clean and neat that I like very much!
My trusted Petrol mower recently passed away, so I chose an electric instead. Apart from the annoying power cable aways being in the wrong spot, it’s working fine. Light, easy to set up and no more trips to the Service Station to fill Jerry Cans. I miss my old mower, but if I don’t chop through the cable, I should get use to it..
Ive had hover mowers for years but I thought time for a change. Lovely idea to cut grass right to the edge, saves strimming and keeps it neat. I collect the grass for my compost, and for just a quick trim I leave the box off in my smaller front garden, and collect in the back garden. This model was pre owned I bought it “as new” saved at least 40 and I can say its superb.
Fiddly to assemble (I needed to watch a youtube video a few times) and not really lightweight when it comes to storing it away.
However the four cutting heights easily swung it for me.
I’m delighted I bought this. Before I had an electric lawnmower which had no wheels. It’s rolled over the grass and it was a disaster tbh. Took forever to cut my grass. But this is brilliant. Everything you want from electric lawnmower. So fast to cut, very long lead, easy to set up and use, great height when fully extend (which is a big plus for me).
I went for it because it had the most reviews. Always go by reviews btw lol. I’ll update my review in a few weeks/months to let you know how it’s holding up.
10/10. So far, so good !
Despite some of previous comments this lawnmower went together easily no tools required in 20 minute’s on my own. Instructions are easy to follow and everything fitted perfectly with no gap’s. Very well manufactured would recommend
Bought this to replace our previous Bosch mower . It’s a little bigger than the other one and I do find it harder to push. That said it makes a quick job of mowing the lawn.
This gives a lovely cut but can bog down a bit in longer grass (my own fault) can be a little hard to push in damp grass and would be nice to have more gathering capacity but I’m to cheap to get the bigger model.
This is a fantastic mower
Cuts beautifully all the time
Does not ‘skin head’ the grass, moreover, cuts to look like a Wimbledon tennis court
Love the stripes it creates in the grass also
beautifully made, but then it is German.
Once registered you get (at the time of writing) a three year guarantee
Absolutely love i
The mower gives a decent cut but there are some issues, the grass box seems to be a bit flimsy and the air vents allow to much grass to pass through, the other issue is where the handle attaches to the mower with quick release handles that leaves too much movement, apart from that it’s not a bad mower for the price.
This Bosch Rotak has a compact design and is lightweight and user-friendly. With a powerful motor, adjustable cutting heights, and a generous grass box, this lawnmower offers both convenience and performance.
It has good power which easily cuts wet grass as long as its not really long. Of course you have the cord to deal with and have a limited range compared to cordless alternatives.
Overall, the Bosch Rotak 34R Electric Lawnmower stands as a reliable and effective solution for achieving a well-groomed lawn.
I would recommend it!
This is a little beast, really amazed with the power and efficiency. A bit hard to assemble, needs to be careful with the plastic parts, it can be easily damaged.
Rating: (5/5)
The lawnmower I purchased for my small garden has proven to be a fantastic investment. Its compact size and efficient design make it an ideal choice for maintaining a smaller outdoor space.
This lawnmower is lightweight and easy to maneuver, allowing me to navigate tight corners and tricky spots effortlessly. Its cutting power is impressive, providing a clean and even trim every time. I appreciate the adjustable cutting height, which lets me customize the lawn’s appearance to my liking.
One standout feature is its low noise level. I can mow my lawn without disturbing neighbors or causing too much noise pollution. The ease of starting the mower and its minimal maintenance requirements are added bonuses.
Storage is a breeze due to its compact design. It doesn’t take up much space in my shed, making it convenient to stow away when not in use.
Overall, this lawnmower is a perfect fit for small gardens. Its efficiency, ease of use, and compact size have made lawn maintenance a breeze. If you have a limited outdoor space, I highly recommend considering this lawnmower for a hassle-free and enjoyable gardening experience.
Large lawn on a slope results in increased moss on the lower section. Bosch mower manages to deal with grass and moss effectively without hacking the lawn. There are a number of height settings to choose from. As an OAP, it did take me a whole afternoon to assemble it and a neighbour kindly checked and tweaked a fitting but got there in the end. It does a good job, stripes included.
I suppose if I was picky, 10m cord is a bit shorter than needed and the grass box isn’t heavy duty but does the job.
The mower itself is easy to assemble right out of the box and despite it’s size is lightweight to carry. The height adjustment is easy to operate and the handles provide options based on how you prefer to push the thing.
Fairly quiet, much quieter than my flymo and the edge brushes get you right close to your borders.
Smooth cut,, nice stripes and picks up the cuttings impressively with very little left behind.
My grass has reacted well to it’s first cut and has grown back straight and strong after years of hover mower abuse :).
Storage is great with a double folding handle and self stacking grass box. Very happy and a good price with next day delivery.
The assembly instructions are poor so I utilized a YouTube video. Nothing whatsoever included about how to fold down and store. The mower itself is light and works well. Grass collection box comes across as flimsy but appears to do the job, good length lead.
Had a Bosch Rotak for years and loved it, but the bracket which held the hand bar on snapped eventually ( a replacement part was not available so I mended it with tape and gave it away ). Stupidly decided to buy a similar sized Mountfield mower ( it was a little less money) as a replacement. It was dreadful, the spring holding the lid/grass box down sheered off on its third use, the electrical plug fell out of the machine constantly and it was cheap and plasticky! ( You get what you pay for)! Oh yes, and the Mountfield customer service was non existent. I bit the bullet, chucked the Mountfield and bought another Bosch Rotakusing it is like being with an old friend! Brilliant if you want a reliable light weight little mower.
The only reason for 4 out of 5 stars is the flimsy grass box on the back.
Apart from that, it does exactly what I need.
‘Cuts the grass’
It creates nice stripes and is very good at cutting longish grass.
I just wish the lead was a little longer and the grass box was more sturdy.
Apart from that, would recommend anyone needed a lower end budget / good make lawn mowe
I don’t know why some people have said the instructions are hard to follow, but I as a 55 year old women found them easy, but perhaps it’s because they’ve now added a separate addendum with clear visual instructions in the placement of what goes where.
This lawnmower is far better than my old Flymo Easy Glide 360, as although it served its purpose, it used to be a little inconsistent with the cut, when it got heavy from the grass cuttings in the collection box. It also used to make the grass fly everywhere and collected under the box, which was annoying. This comparable Bosch lawnmower is actually easier to push, quicker in mowing the lawn and has an extremely neat consistent cut (lowest setting).
I, like others think the box could be better made, in regards to the gap adjoining the top and bottom at the front, but it doesn’t seem to affect the functionality of collecting all of the grass.
Once you register your Bosch lawnmower, it comes with a 3 year warranty, which in this day and age is better than a bog standard 1 year, on most goods.
It’s early days but very happy so far.
To assemble the mower I suggest you go on U tube as the assembly instructions with the mower are poor. No wording or warnings only diagrams. It took me three times the time it should have taken to assemble. Getting up and down with arthritis |I could have done without the problems.
First of all you have to work out how to get the back wheels out of the the together grass box. Then attach the wheels shown on the diagram to the mower. Unless you are superman this is impossible. You have to put the mower on its side using two hands on the wheel and press down with full body weight to achieve this!
I was afraid to use so much force in case I damaged the mower! But the was no alternative!
If you are not careful attaching the handle as I did, screwing the handle in the upright position and not in the downward position then trying to fold down the handle snaps it off.
If you fully tighten the first screw on the remaining handle then the other screw 2 will not catch. I found not fully tightening screw 1 enabled it to catch.
As for the Mower I got it in the sale and is good value for money. On a medium size garden it cuts long grass with not too much effort with five grass box emptying’s. The grass box handle did come off when I twisted the box once. The box is easy to remove and empty.
My last 3 Lawnmowers have all been Bosch. I have bought Bosch because they have lasted longer than other makes I have bought in the past. However this model, which is only an updated version of my previous model, seems so much more flimsy than the previous models. The grass box took me ages to put together and in fact I had to put some tape at the ends to help secure it. So not so impressed as I have been in the past and it will be interesting to see how long this one will last.
Bought this as my current cordless mower was going through batteries and at the price of replacement batteries I could by a new corded mower!
Easy to construct but the fitment of the handle is difficult, location nuts are not long enough so had to use my own.
The mower works well and is quite sturdy. I seem to have a cable guide that does not appear in the assembly instructions and is a nuisance when the mower is collapsed. Otherwise cuts well and re4tains the grass in the box.
Much better than hoover mowers. In its 3rd year of use now, so I’m happy
Great item. Easy to assemble. The first cut was excellent.
Easy to assemble and very light weight.
I had one for years but the red trigger broke. Purchased a new one as the mower has always been decent. Would recommend for small lawns.
Refurb without much of a manual which made assembly challenging. Compared to its predecessor which outlasted a decade it feels a tiny bit flimsy in the on/off controls but otherwise same as previous and does the business.
This is replacing my old Bosch slightly smaller but a good price, it went together with no problems the grass basket is a little squeegee but I can live with it, arrived on time and in good condition a good seller. I don`t know because it`s new but it’s very quiet.
Absolutely fantastic mower. Does a great cut even leaves beautiful stripes and lightly rolls as well.
Fair enough the box feels a bit flimsy but once fitted onto mower does the job very well also box large so less emptying.
Fairly easy to assemble if you read instructions.
Overall great performance on long and wet grass.
I will be recommending
Really great lawnmower.
Easy to use, we cut at the shortest setting and it’s a lovely job with it. It’s sturdy and feels like it will last.
It can be a bit awkward to turn so I tend to lift it and turn. Otherwise really great.
Looked around at mowers for a while and then decided on another Bosch, last one I had 11 years and my daughter has it now. Thought at first it was a little flimsy especially the cuttings basket but all works well. Glad i chose Bosch agai
Attaching the handles are a bit fiddly and attaching the wheels are not quite straightforward. I’m a 5ft7 person and I found the lawnmower a little too long to manoeuvre, I had to be careful when turning the lawnmower around when cutting the grass as not to fall off the edge of my front garden. It cuts very well and isn’t very loud when operating. The grass box is very flimsy and the black handle on the grass box comes off very easy when emptying out the grass, so you have to put one underneath so it doesn’t fall out of your hand.
Delighted with this lawnmower. I purchased the 34R as it was cheaper that the 32R I’d intended to buy. I was able to assemble it without assistance though did watch a video first. Seems really robust and cuts well. It doesn’t cut quite as close to the edge as I’d hoped but I’ve never had a lawnmower that could. Very pleased.
I fell into the trap of not noticing the instructions for assembling the handles. Put the receiving bolts backwards at first.
I understood that the mower would cut up to the edge. Previous mover left a wide strip of uncut grass. Though that was behind me with this mower. While the strip is not as wide, it still leaves a strip of uncut grass( I have a raised stone edging around the lawn. The cut is quite sharp.
I purchased this mower to do a friend’s very large lawn. It managed the lawn with ease. The mower is quiet and the grass cuttings box held far more than my previous mower. I managed to assemble it on my own. The only bit I struggled with was getting the back wheels to click on. Good mower for the money

found easy to assemble, cuts ok as required, height adjustment handle above front wheel howeverI found that it was very stiff to flex against the plastic and in the long run when it gets older may snap off, as at flex point is on 2 thin strips of plastic. when turning around handle was to long and awkward when pushing handle from side ie when close to wall you dont always want to be behind it when turning
will this last as long as my previous rotak 34 14 yrs
we must all wait and see
Quite easy to put together although the instructions are only drawings. Wheels can be secured by hitting them with the heel of your hand to make them secure. Very light and easy to manoeuver. Good size grassbox. Starting lever doesn’t feel very positive but seems to work okay. Overall good value at the price paid.
The mower is pretty easy to put together. The instructions aren’t so good but you have the picture on the box to refer to at the same time. The product is lightweight as advertised and when cutting gave nice stripes to the grass. The handles also give a range of options for pushing and everything makes the job as easy as it can be without a driving motor. I also think the edge function is great. My grass is only 10m x 10m. I woudn’t want a smaller mower than this. Not so great is the flimsiness of the grass box. I’m not sure how long that will last. I also wish the cord was longer (but that is the same on most products now). Altogether this mower was great value for money. No issues with delivery or damage.
It’s very difficult cutting the moss off the roof. If the wheels were rubber and not plastic, I could stay on the roof longer before slipping off.
Because it’s so quiet, you must remove guinea pigs before cutting, they / he didn’t hear me mowing. Alice is over it now but she doesn’t want me doing the garden any more.
It’s powerful and cuts well and indeed is lightweight. It is a swine to put together. Find the video on line because instructions are just pictures. The grass box is the worst bit to assemble but once up and running it’s neat and a good mowe
The ONLY issue is trying to register the guarantee. You get the distinct impreaaion that Bosch don’t want tou to have the guarantee. The website to register is a nightmare. They send you a validation e-mail which never arrives and not even in junk mail. Hopeless.

The Bosch Rotak 36 R Electric Lawnmower is an efficient machine. It has a powerful 1300 watt electric motor and adjustable cutting height at five different heights. At first, I was surprised to find that the body is made of plastic, but on reflection, this means that it will not rust. It cuts well and is easy to use. The grass collection box is also made of plastic. I am pleased with my purchase.
I’ve never owned a lawnmower before except I used the trimmers in the past, so nothing to compare with. From my perspective, it does the job, cuts the grass as expected, easy to manoeuvre, cords long enough and grass collector is effective but does require emptying often.
It does feel a bit flimsy in places ( grass collector) , handles but did not cause me issues. Used for three months and definitely good value for money.
Bought this to replace an earlier electric Bosch that has given ten years excellent service. Great value, plug and play. Love the cut height adjuster- just one lever to change cut height. Reliable.

The manoeuvrability as a result of it being narrower and lighter is very welcome. What is less welcome is that the cable is too short by about 2m it would be much more of a nightmare if we had a big garden.
Overall though pleased.
Very easy to use and does the job perfect even with high grass
Good cutter ! Easy to manoeuvre, but only disappointment is small capacity grass box.
Not as well made as expected but then it wasn’t expensive. You get what you pay for.
No the easiest gadget to assemble but once done is easy to use
It was better than my old version for emptying the grass box.
I’ve had a Rotak 32 for 6 years, using it to cut my own lawn and others (I’m a gardener). For a small mower it worked really well. This one is a slight upgrade – a bit heavier, but easier to adjust the cutting height and a larger grass box. It’s still very easy to use, and at just over 100 should prove excellent value.
Does the job!
I have a medium sized lawn (by UK standards – which are quite small). I have had no problems so far.
I have a broken back and this little mower is light and easily manoeuvred.
Hopefully the typical Bosch standard of quality lasts a long time.
Cheers.
An effective mower when you can get it assembled!! Most of it goes together in a straight forward manner, However the Handle assembly is truly weird and caused much head scratching!! Surely this could be made much simpler to prevent many failed attempts to get the handle anywhere near ready for use.
Does exactly what a bosch does best no matter how much abuse you throw at it. This is the 2nd one I’ve had and its great. The only issue is at the slightest sign of damp the entrance to the box can become clogged as well as the cutting blade bay. Wouldn’t have any other mower fro my size garden and what i expect the machine to do.
This Bosch lawnmower I’m really pleased with. It’s light enough not to be cumbersome and also leaves the lawn looking very smooth and it really does cut up to the edges without tearing them. I would definitely recommend this product.
Good easy to assemble budget lawnmower that works very well. Great for my small lawn as its lightweight and fairly easy to manoeuver and cuts close to wall and fence leaving very little to strim. Also has 5 height settings which allowed me to gradually reduce the height of grass on my new lawn without cutting off more than 1/3 off on any cut. Only likely problem is grass box not very robust so hopefully it lasts. Also a little difficult to clean after use as grass gets stuck down side of height adjustment lever.
Good mower that gives a nice tidy cut and it’s good to have easily adjustable height settings. My only critism would be that the grass collection box is rather flimsy and the handle kept coming off until I modified the clips that hold it in place – they just don’t grip very well. Design improvement required there.
Got it on a Lightning deal for 73 – I’m happy with that!
Grass box very flimsy – handle falls off – Bosch replacement parts not helpful – lawnmower itself very good
shape of handles are user friendly & ideal for hanging wound up cable on although cable is shorter than my older Bosh model which means I now have to use an extension Lead, this model has a higher adjustment than the older model if required for a taller user, I would have rated it 5 star if the cable was the same length as the older model
Super easy to put together and quite self explanatory with no tools required.
My disappointment so far has been the fitting quality when the grass box is assembled. The end of the grass box which fits to the mower has gaps.
I do get the complaints about feeling flimsy but apart from the grass box I thought could be better, I have no complaints.
Used it for the first time today and better than my Qualcast and Flymo I had in the past.
Cuts well, easy to us and best of all collected the cut grass better than previous mowers. Don’t think will be using the rake much after a cut with this.
It’s not an industrial mower and for 100, treat it with a bit of care and sure will last a few years.
Easy to gold and very compact.
Does what it says and cuts right up to the edge of the lawn. No need to use edging shears.
Can be lifted one handed to store in shed.
Easy to turn once you have managed you own personal way of cable management when turning at the end of a run.
I had the previous version of the same lawn mover, which stopped working after several years of service. I decided to stick with the same brand & model. This new version is more compact and takes less space to store. One concern/grief I have is the plastic cover and grass box collection appears very weak, and feels cheap. The height adjusting lever is quite lower and not easy to manipulate while you are cutting the grass. It is likely to break easily. Definitely not worth of 100+. I am not confident this will last same long as my old one, but fingers crossed it will!

This is NOT easy to assemble, took a bad language half hour but hey, you only assemble it once ! A little heavy and unwieldy. Cable not long enough for my small garden, needs a plug in extension. Some reviews mentioned flimsy , but (for 105!) I think the quality is fine, and I have bought Bosch before because the reputation is good. Cuts the grass well , and I just had the previous Bosch model which lasted me 15 or more years . This has bigger grass box and wider cut, which both work well. As a basic effective mower, it’s definitely a great buy.
I had a Bosch mower that lasted ten years before I killed it running over too many tree stumps. I bought this one because of my experience with the previous mower.
Very happy with it so far.
Good size grass box which is easily attached and emptied.
Motor isn’t that noisy at all so can cut the grass without attracting my neighbours because they always want to have a chat when they see me in the garden.
You’ll need an extension lead.
Cuts easily long grass and thick shorter grass.
Light weight to carry around, it has a carry handle and you can lift the machine comfortably even with the grass box attached.
One big downer compared with the old mower is that the mower lead is fixed to the machine. I’d much prefer, like the old one, being able to detach it and not having it all unwind etc when I’m putting the mower away.
It’s totally easy to assemble on your own…common sense really.
I have initially bought a different brand with a lower power and when arrived i struggled so much to cut my small garden, I than talked with CS in Amazon and created a return and purchased this Bosh one. It is just amazing and powerful, so easy to assemble and very smooth cut. I would recommend to anyone, in my opinion the best one.
Excellent light manoeuvrable mower with easy switches on the handle to enable control by either hand. The finished cut is neat and even right up to the edge thanks to the multiple height adjustment and roller. The mower even handled reasonably long grass without problems. In my opinion it is SO much better than the hover mower I previously used, which was cumbersome and left an uneven and patchy result. This Bosch model is the best lawnmower I have used.
A massive improvement on my old Qualcast mower. It actually sucks up clippings and scattered leaves like a good un. The roller leaves a nice stripe on the lawn and cutting is so effortless and “complete” that I don’t have to move it back and forth to get a clean cut; simply move forward in one smooth motion and the job is done. Admittedly my old Qualcast was, well, old but I’m so impressed by how much better this mower is. The compact storage is also a big plus.
Obviously not the best mower in the world, but at its price point this thing is really great. As with all these budget Bosch products there is no skimping on power. Set up and storage is well thought out and easy to deal with. Controls are no nonsense. Perfect for a small lawn. Only bad point is the grass box handle which will just fall off if there is any weight of grass in the box. I got this for under 80 which is a steal.
Finally upgraded to Lawnmower – no more trimmer! Saved me a lot of time.
Easy to assemble, high volume container and the cut is precise.
Just on the bad note – it could benefit if its more mobile… just finding it very hard to drive but probably I need to get used to it.
Recommended!
10 minutes to assemble, cuts well, and leaves an even finish. Good for the price. I recommend you make sure you register it with Bosch, you get three year cover for repairs. I bought mine, the back roller lost a securing cap on the first week, contacted Bosch having registered it. Item was collected from home for repair, six days later they just sent me a new one. Hopefully I just had a rogue one, so I’ll update this if I have any more issues, but fingers crossed as it’s a good mowe
its a lovely mower but it want let me do the register the guarantee some advice would be handy
I’ve only just bought it and I’ve used it just once, so far so good it did what I bought it for excellently. Hopefully it’s continues like that.
The Bosch Rotax 44 R is a well built solid machine with strong cutting blade.
Assembling it is quite easy , assembling the grass box ,which most people find it difficult ! is a very minor problem ,so all in all one can assemble the machine in 30 minutes maximum!!
The Bosch lawnmower would be a super tool if it was not for the fixing of the 2 loose wheels!!If these plastic wheels are not precisely cut they will not fit !!
But if you are lucky and they do you will have a really good machine!!
It is quite manoeuvreable and reasonably lightweight!!
Bought this mower to replace my existing one. Did some research. So happy, it is lightweight, easy to assemble first time around. I bought it because it has a wheel base, plus height adjustment lever for cutting the grass. Furthermore, the grass collector is larger than my previous mower, and can be compacted for storage.
It cuts better than my previous mower, my only snag is the cable length. I think the standard should be 12-15m and not 10m.
