The Designer
Scottish by birth, Gordon Ramsay was brought up in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. With an injury prematurely putting and end to any hopes of a promising career in football, he went back to college to complete a course in hotel management. His dedication and natural talent led him to train with some of the best chefs, such as Albert Roux and Marco Pierre White in London, and Guy Savoy and Joël Robuchon in France. In 1993 Gordon became chef of Aubergine in London. Within three years he was awarded two Michelin stars. In 1998, at the age of 31, Ramsay set up his first wholly owned and namesake restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, which quickly received the most prestigious accolade in the culinary world – three Michelin stars. Today, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay is London’s one of the longest -running restaurant to hold this accolade, and Ramsay is one of only four chefs in the U.K. to maintain three stars.

Spent a while looking round department stores for a good simple design dinner set. Found this one. Great value for money. Would say more an off white. Great design downside is not oven proof and had to purchase 2 sets as only come with 4 plates etc.. Arrived securely in loads of packaging.

These are as nice as my fellow reviewers make out ! These dont have that thick cheap feel , the pattern is accurate and the glaze consistent, Marked on the reverse Gordon Ramsey , Royal Doulton. Ordered one box set of 12 and ordered another box the next day. One thing I will say is the hilarious picture of Ramo on the box ! Full size head ,looks like you’ve bought his head or a box full of swearing. Very funny box.

Great plate set, high quality
We have had the Gordon Ramsay white Maze plates (along with matching coffee mugs, flat white mugs & saucers) for some time, so it was a no brainer to get these when we wanted something in grey. They are a great colour and arrived packed very, very well. There was a crush / dent on one corner of the carton from the courier, but the packaging absorbed this and all was in tact in the carton. The look great, wash well and are quite tough.

Really good dinner set. The colour makes vegetables look bright and appealing. The bowls and plates are all relatively large so beware portion size – you can fit an awful lot on.

Having previously purchased this set from a well known department store a few years ago some of the plates had been smashed and being unable to purchase more as they were no longer available,so when I saw this set online and a great purchase price I ordered 2 sets to add to my existing set,lovely design great size and with the ridge it stops gravy overflowing only drawback is the weight of the individual dinner plate. Will definitely think of purchasing again for a family members house warming gift.

High quality.
A very nice set of plates and bowls. Both sets of plates are a great size and the high lip on the dinner plates let you load up the plate and stop anything from falling or dripping off the side. They are nice and heavy and feel solid. The bowls are just the right size wide at the base and don’t sit too high around the rim. Overall can’t fault them.

Really please with this set (dinner plates, side plates, bowls), great quality and good sizes. Would say it is slightly off white rather than brilliant white but I actually prefer this. Would definitely recommend.

Royal Doulton plates se
Very elegant design, seems sturdy enough. I put it through dishwasher and it came out nice and shiny. Colour is not white, though, it is more creamy. Price is very good. I found it on Dunelm and eBay website for much more. All in all very pleased and I would recommend it.

One of my plates was broken in the box. i have disposed of it and ordered a replacement plate from Dunelm rather than send the whole lot back.

No cups!!
Classy but no cups as photo another 22-24 pounds for 4 cups. Photo is misleading so grateful for them but feel let down by sales pitch photo.
Nice to see that the availability of this Royal Doulton crockery continues. We bought 8 settings 3 years ago. After a few breakages (you really need to try hard, it’s pretty sturdy) we were going to buy a couple of replacement plates. Rather than that, we decided on another set, bringing most bowls and plates up to 12 settings.
3 years in the quality of the crockery is evident. The new set just purchased is indistinguishable from the 3 year old set. That’s had a family of four using it every day with daily dishwashing. I’m very impressed.
The design continues to be impressive, simple but attractive, and frames your plate of food very nicely. I really like the higher lip on the plates as it “contains” your food in a more secure manner and keeps that gravy and those peas where they’re meant to be.
All in all, a good price, quick delivery, and you get a HUGE Gordon Ramsey face on the side of the box which when cut out provides endless fun for my 2 girls!

Lovely dining set, it came securely packaged and without any issues. The dinner plates are fairly large, which is why I would have preferred pasta bowls as part of the set, rather than the cereal bowls. Good product overall.
Really liked the look and quality and off white cover. Only negative is difficult shape to fit nicely into dishwasher takes way too much space.

A lovely set, awesome looking and a bit bigger than most normal plate sets. The edge of the parge plates have a non intrusive lip which is great for food served with a runny sauce.

Lovely dinner service, great quality. Had to buy two sets because I needed a dinner service for 6 people and a lot of sets are only for 4 people. This means I have a couple of spares. Very pleased with the look, more of a cream colour but the design is very simple and classy. Won’t go out of fashion. Hope it lasts forever.

I was looking for dinner plates that were the bigger size than your average and this set hits the mark. In fact the whole set is a nicer ‘above average’ size. The bowls and side plates are bigger than any other set I own. They are standing up to the test of time in the dishwasher and are a basic but classy design. Would definitely buy again!

Ending up buying 3 sets of this amazing dinner service,The Review below almost put me off but it seemed very unlikely that Royal Doulton one of the finest world-class brands in tableware would produce anything less then excellent and the fact it was the Gordon Ramsay range who seeks ultimate excellence in everything set alarm bells off about the review.
So I ordered 1 set to start with and the only question I have is why is it so cheap? The Plates are elegant and beautiful in a simplistic modern way.
Very high quality and much better then my last Derby set that cost 5x the price.
I now have the mugs as well. Outstanding Value and incredible quality
