I bought this well over a year ago but now i feel it is time to write a review, sure it took 3 runs of clean water to flush the plastic smell but after that it was gone, the filter has lasted well and i have had zero issue with it and no residue has ever made it to the mug, Is it as good as a 100+ maker well no but for the price it is excellent. For me the hardest thing about this was trying to find a good tasting bean but that is no fault of it, for me I use 10 cups of water measured from the jug and 3 slightly heaped scoops of my chosen coffee then set it to grind setting 4 and strength setting 1 bar and it makes perfectly strong coffee, If i can give one word of advice though is do not use strait tap water like i did at the start , sure it works and it is ok but i have recently installed a filtered tap system at my sink and it is like night and day between the filtered water and strait tap wate
Love it. A great machine, love that you can use both beans and already grinded coffee, easy to use and clean.
Ist one was faulty timer didn’t work but was replaced without question very quickly. 2nd one spot on timer allows waking up to fresh coffee and a lovely aroma
Overall I like the brewer, but the finished coffee isn’t wRm enough and the breewing takes to long. time.
Bought last year for Xmas present and not working anymore water won’t pour in to jug not worth the money did not last 6 months
I’ve not used the timer function yet but everything else is surprisingly straightforward. I’d have liked the washable parts to be guaranteed dishwasher safe but not really a problem. Good coffee, keeps warm, great price, would recommend.
grinding coffee beans and going straight onto brewing the coffee. very effective.
Great machine for the price. The timer function is great as it saves me valuable time in the morning! Keeps the coffee lovely and hot also. Would recommend.
We bought this as a replacement for an all singing all dancing coffee machine with a million settings when it went wrong and we realised we only used 1 setting anyway. Much cheaper and simpler and the coffee tastes better surprisingly. An excellent buy
It is so easy to use,and waking up to the smell of fresh coffee is wonderful,I like the fact that you don`t have to use beans, you can switch the grinder off and use already ground coffee.
No more coffee all over the kitchen where the hubby has tried to get it from the grinder to the machine. This coffee maker now means our mornings are happier and our kitchen cleaner!
No complaints so far.
Excellent coffee machine and easy to use
Set a timer for every morning for fresh ground bean coffee perfect, Easy to clean
I would highly recommend this coffee machine great price
Really satisfied and surprised by this machine. For that price it does a very good coffee. Find the beans that suit your taste and you’re good. Just be sure to use the machine twice with no beans to have it clean at first. Don’t forget do descale it from time to time.
If you want the best coffee ever, you’ll need to consider much more expensive pro machines (500-1000).
Lovely machine. Delivered earlier than estimate when I ordered, the day before I moved house, to the new address. Caused problems..
Very good product that I got on sale. It took me a minute to work out how to set the timer but once I did it’s been a part of my morning routine since. You can set it to grind beans or just use pre ground so it doesn’t matter if I pick up the wrong pack of coffee. The flavour is good and I recommend this product.
Really great and exactly what I was looking for. Coffee tastes very good. However I found that I need to use less coffee than advised otherwise the taste is really strong even on the lowest setting.
Bought at beginning of work from home at start of lockdown. Used several times daily and always great results. Easy to use and fantastic value. No need to use fancy ground coffee or beans, Aldi have a great selection at very reasonable prices.
Great item and a much needed replacement for our old one. Great for both brand and pre-ground coffees
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this machine as it was so cheap but am not disappointed.
I like that you can choose from beans or filter coffee.
I find grinding the beans at 6am a little too noisy but by grinding them at night and setting the timer to go off is perfect.
I followed the advise on other reviews and set the grind to 12 even when making less, and by putting 1 scoop less makes perfect coffee every time.
So easy to clean.
If I had to say anything negative about this machine it would be that you can only set it to stay on for 40 minutes after it has made the coffee, personally I need longer!
Great buy and would definitely recommend to anyone.
his is the second one I have bought as the last one broke on me, larger footprint then some of the other machines I have looked at but decent machine hence why I bought again to replace the old one
Very happy. Arrived quickly and well packaged. Instructions very clear and easy to follow. Looks good sitting on my worktop and coffee tastes very good. Very happy with my coffee machine, it is everything I wished for.
Always wanted one of these: if it doesn’t last a tremendously long time it will still have given great enjoyment, so when the time comes I’ll be glad to splash out on something similar but dearer.
Best thing I’ve ever got. It grinds the coffee perfectly but also works well with coffee that has been previously grounded or bought grounded. The flavour is amazing. Cleaning it is very easy and I am in love with the timer. Waking up in the morning and having my house smelling like fresh coffee is divine!
For the price there’s not anything to really dislike. Did some research before settling on this machine and the main factor was the ability to make 12 cups. As many other reviews state, cup measurements relate to espresso cups, not mugs, and the ability to make more than 1 mug-full of coffee at a time is a must for me. The timer function is great, can wake up to fresh coffee every morning (make sure you read the instructions start to finish because part of the process is under a separate heading!) and it’s easy to clean. The grind function is good, albeit a bit messier to clean up afterward. Probably my best purchase during lockdown!
Easy to use with a decent size jug. Great to have fresh filter coffee from beans without have to grind them separately
Arrived on time. Looks great for the money. Nicely built with a bit of chrome. Bean Coffee tastes great not tried ground yet but assume will be just as good. Cleaning the filter could do with a wee brush.
Great coffee machine. Noticed that Simon Rimmer (Sunday Brunch) has one in his kitche
Love it it makes 6 cups of coffee as the 12 it says it makes are the little cups the heat plate at the bottom works really well keeps it nice an ho
Has some great reviews – so bought this. Dead easy to set up and use. Delicious coffee from the off!
Good value and seems nicely made. Controls are logical to use and didn’t take long to get going.
Good product for the price. Grinds the beans well, though it’s worth always having the grinder on the 12 cup setting if you want them all ground. I’ve used the strongest flavour setting too as I like my coffee strong.
Easy to use and makes good coffee.
great product bought for my hubby for his birthday – thank you he loves it.
Very happy with this. Timer is easy, pity I can’t put the baby on the same timer. It can handle beans or ground coffee. Very good
very good coffee machine, easy to use and clean. machine has a built in grinder for coffee beans. gives maximum flavour. very pleased with purchase.
This is fantastic value for money.
Very easy to setup, clean and maintain.
We have had a play around with brewing setting on different coffee beans.
As an example using Aribica coffee beans.
In the day we fill the water tank with 8 cups and we use 5-6 scoops of beans. Brew the the coffee on normal and it’s and its perfect for us. Not to strong. In the morNing we do the same but this time increase the strength so it brews slightly slower. A nice strong coffee to start your day off.
Definitely worth trying out.
Great tasting coffee, quite brewing, hot coffee. Other reviews are very miss leading and very critical. Don’t listen, good coffee machine, works very well.
Easy to use once you’ve read the instructions. Makes excellent coffee and looks stylish in the kitchen. Would definitely recommend.
Had the coffee machine for 2 days and just had to test out the correct mix of beans and water. Think we have it just strong enough. The operation of the machine is very intuitive 4 or 5 buttons to set timer, grind thickness and number of cups. Highly recommend this entry level coffee maker. Great value for money.
This is an excellent product and a bargain price. I didn’t expect it to be so good at the price on here. Curry’s are selling it for over twice as much. The coffee is excellent, no matter if you use whole beans or ground. Every use gives a delicious aroma & you know that another perfect pot is ready. If I had any complaint , it would be that I find it hard now to restrict or limit my daily cups. I used to limit myself to 3 cups a day but more will power is needed as this makes the best coffee compared to my previous methods, which included a cafetiere, percolator and a cheaper coffee machine.
Nothing to dislike about this unit at this price. It works great. The only grumble is the 40 minute shut off, though I get why they do it.
I have been using lots of very expensive coffee machines. However, this is exactly what I needed. Simple, not much to go wrong.
I use this coffee machine every day. I wake up to freshly ground, freshly brewed coffee every morning. I just love this product!
Great product makes lovely coffee – it can be a bit loud – so better for the kitchen rather than bedroom – love the timer – easy to use.
I broke the pot within a few weeks of use – spares easy to find though .
A bit of trouble to clean, but makes a good cup of Joe
bought this as a present and the feedback i got is that its a great machine does what its supposed to and makes a decent pot of coffee
I do love a good strong black coffee in the morning. After mine machine broke after years of use I decided to purchase this one. It is a great machine and has held up to my love of coffee.
Upgraded from a simple Russell Hobbs machine to this and love it as you can use ground coffee or have fresh ground coffee beans. Timer facility is great and it all comes apart easy for cleaning! Would recommend to anyone!
For the price paid this is great. It was reduced to circa 60 so probably pays for itself within 6 weeks instead of paying for coffee every day. Biggest drawback is you can’t ‘easily’make a cup or a mug on the go. You have to measure the water and beans you put in to what you want out each time rather than just rock up and press the button.
Love this. Grinder does well grinding bean makes a nice pot of coffee glald I got it. Is a pain washing out all the internals before reusing however it’s worth it.
I really like this product and it does what it should do but, who had the bright idea to,
a) Put the graduated markings on the carafe in white (very difficult to read when using the carafe to measure
water)?
b) Print the markings as small as possible? Why would MR do this?
The markings are visible AFTER the coffee has been made, but next to invisible when trying to measure the amount of water to put in the machine. Very bad design. However it makes coffee from fresh ground beans and I’ve found a fix for the carafe problem. All in all I happy with the product.
Love this coffee maker, no grains and easy to use. Not more instant for me.
This is great. Timer function works brilliantly for the morning and coffee tastes great.
The price is really great value, well it was on prime day!
This is my second Chester – the first clogged up with hard water now I use filtered water.
For 59 it does the job yes its not a proper grinder but at that price only the purist would scoff. Its fresh brewed fresh ‘ground’ coffee every morning and if you combine it with a good quality inexpensive bean you get a delicious cup every time. Takes a bit of experimenting to get the water to bean ratio right but not to much. I love it and at that price you cant go wrong.
This bean to brew coffee maker is good value for money at the big discounted price I bought it for on Amazon at under 60. There are some negative issues I have with it. I will mention these, but each time explain the simple “work-around” that other reviewers here have found and one or two I worked out for myself.
Firstly the machine comes with an unacceptable strong odor of plastic that does not diminish after the recommended first use using plain water on a cycle without coffee. I ran mine through a cycle without coffee three times and the very strong plastic odor was the same. Following advice from reviewers here I washed the jug, filter, filter holder and the reservoir out using detergent and then rinsing it all thoroughly off. I then ran coffee through it and threw that pot away. Washed everything in water again and the smell is greatly diminished although not yet entirely gone (I am writing this at day 1 of my ownership). But its OK. And will, I feel sure, vanish soon now.
Secondly. The makers advice of one heaped scoop of beans per cup and to set the grinder to run according to the number of scoops (the recommend one heaped scoop of un-ground beans per cup) results in an extremely wasteful course grind with some entire beans going un-ground. The way to remedy this is simple. Namely ALWAYS set the grinder for 12 cups regardless of how many cups you make. I used the timer this morning to wake up at 7.30 am and grind and make 6 cups of coffee. With the grinder set for 12 cups the grinding was much finer and all the beans were ground.
Thirdly: If you drink mugs rather than cups and drink your coffee black here is my advice for a good coffee taste. Set the brew strength to the one bar on display up strength (not the two which is the strongest). Use one heaped spoon of un-ground beans per TWO cups of water measure (not one heaped scoop per cup as the instructions direct) in the water reservoir and remember to always set the grinder to 12 cups regardless. This will halve the amount of beans needed, save you money and the coffee will be nice and strong (a good Americano style) but not too strong. Use filtered water if you can.
Fourthly, the instruction manual does not tell you this but there is no need to remove the jug when you program the machine – that bit in the instruction manual is nonsensical. Moreover, if you leave it plugged in then you can very easily program the machine for the exact same time the next day by simply pressing the alarm clock button to activate the timer.
Fifthly, if you grind whole beans in it, always clean the lid of the grinder/filter before the next use as it gets covered in wet grounds. Use a damp kitchen role not a pastry brush as the daft as brush manual suggests as that will just flick wet grinds into the machine. Relatedly, you will unfortunately get some grinds at the bottom of the coffee. This is a design fault in the machine as this should not happen. It never in my older electric filter machine. You get less grinds in your jug if you use whole beans and the grinder function and set the machine to make stronger coffee. This is probably because the grinds are still much less fine than pre-ground coffee and because on the stronger mode it slows the flow of water through them and so somehow less grinds get into the coffee jug.
quick set up and easy to produce fine tasting ground coffee from beans have not tried pre-ground coffee in it but think it will be as good .A bit messy to clean but a great coffee machine for the price this one replaced a500 machine .
Very good product but in the instructions there’s functions not specified, also little difficult to get the correct measure between water and coffee beans for a nice tasty coffee.
Everything else is very good
If this was self cleaning and actually brought the coffee to my bedside in the morning it would be perfect. As it is it’s certainly pretty good for the price
I never get time to leave reviews but was so pleased with this purchase I wanted to share my experience. Price was very reasonable. My experience is the coffee remains hot (I had read some reviews to the contrary, but not my experience). Some other reviews had mentioned it occasionally doesn’t gring all the beans, after six weeks of use, it has never happened to me – really glad I settled for this machine (and I can be hard to please!).
Thought this was what we needed to replace a bean to cup machine……I was wrong. Never really tried all the functions. Now in store for a rainy day!
Easy to use, great function to make it stronger, quiet.
I am so in love with this !! Can’t even describe it. It s what I wanted and more. The flavour of the coffee , the silent start of brewing and the rest makes it an amazing buy for serious coffee lovers.
I am really happy with this coffee machine.
It is simple to use and gives consistent results.
Tip for using a machine: always use bottled water.
Cleaning is a bit of a pain due to multiple parts that have to be cleaned
Good coffee maker. Best brew comes from grindings beans two or three times before brewing..
Really like this product, great value for money. It has a timer which is very handy, offers beans or ground coffee option and it doesn’t take too much beans compared to my last coffee machine which was a drinker. I bought this for our work office and bought another one for my home.
Bought this as an emergency replacement when I broke the in-laws coffee machine (oops!) but this is a great bit of kit considering it’s so reasonably priced! Easy to use and makes brilliant coffee! The coffee grounds holder lid gets a little messy when you’re grinding beans but an old toothbrush cleans it out in no time!
Great coffee just a bit of a pain to clean.
I bought this product to replace my old VonShef bean to cup coffee machine and I am so impressed with it. It’s so much quieter than my old one and the fact you can use coffee beans or filter coffee is such a bonus. You can select the ‘cup amount’ for the purpose of the bean grinder which is another good feature as this is obviously the noisiest part. So it basically only grinds the amount you put in and does not run for longer than needed. I have already used it loads since I purchased it including the timer function which works perfectly. Being a coffee lover, having the smell of brewed coffee when I’ve just got up is fantastic.
I like the coffee that it makes. It is basic but reasonably priced.
I bought this product as a present for my other half as he loves a freshly brewed coffee. A good value for the money and it’s what I’m looking for. We have a freshly brewed coffee anytime and I have a happy and satisfied hubby.
I bought this machine as a replacement for my excellent Russell Hobbs machine that had recently died. It works well. Initially there were some grinds in the brew but I now make sure that the filter is well seated and that no longer happens. My main gripe is that it only grinds if there are lots of beans in there, so I can only grind for more than two cups. It will make single cups with ground coffee. This is just due to the design of the grinder. Otherwise perfect.
he warmer plate shuts after 1hr, I can’t drink a whole pot that quick. You have to be careful of filling up the reservoir because it will overflow if you’re not careful. Plastic container probably not that great of an idea either but don’t think a glass reservoir exists.
Picked this up on Amazon for 56.00. It’s quality. The coffee is amazing when you get a good bean. Grinds very quickly and the versatility of the strength ,amount, quick cup is fantastic. The coffee is so good. Keeps hot for 40 minutes at which time coffee has some kind of reaction and doesn’t taste good. Treat yourself! Ps if you expect to not have to clean each use then this isn’t for you, although it only takes a couple of minutes
At half the RRP , this was a good buy. It’s a well known brand, not a massive machine that takes up too much room and it’s easy to use.
I prefer to use a paper filter in mine but you could use it without. Replacement glass jugs are available too so I will also be ordering one of those before the inevitable happens.Instructions are clear and the led display is good.Timer, brew options etc all very easy.
The only niggle for me is that the grinder on/ off icon could be more defined . At the price I paid I feel I got a bargain, I would have paid more but not the full price.
Brews a good cup of coffee. Takes a few uses to find the perfect cuppa to your taste. Would gain a star if it was dishwasher proof.
Best 50 spent! Would highly recommend this coffee machine. It takes less than a minute to grind the beans, the hot plate works very well too. I have read comments from others that the water isn’t hot enough, I disagree, it can’t get hotter – it’ll burn the beans. The smell of fresh coffee is amazing and for this price, if it lasts a year I’ll be happy 🙂
The grinder doesn’t grind very fine. It goes by the number of cups you say you want to brew, so you can tell it it’s for more cups than it really is and it’ll grind for longer, but that’s a cumbersome workaround. The filter is otherwise good and pretty easy to clean. The machine it’self is very good, fast and quiet. The strength setting on the brewing works a treat, too.
Pretty good all rounder. Grinder is actually nowhere near as bad as some will tell you
The capacity is generous, easy to clean.
Both side filling for water and coffee so MUCH better than rear filling machines
Deadly simple to program. I mean v v easy
For the price, it’s a total steal
We have been using this machine for over a week now and have found it to be excellent. We wanted a bean to cup machine that would do the basics. This machine grinds the beans and then makes a glass jug of coffee and keeps it hot for around 40minutes before switching off. You can also use ground coffee instead of beans which we like the idea of. We ordered a 1kg bag of beans to get started and then followed that up with a 1kg bag of decaf beans. There are loads of coffee bean packs you can order.
The machine is straightforward to use but read the instructions first. Also do not forget to register the machine and get the extra years guarantee. We bought this on an offer price so for what we paid we have a very good machine. Even the full price is reasonable for the machine.
The machine casing is a thick plastic which does have some stretch in it so do make sure that it is all clipped together on delivery. The whole thing was very well packed and taped up inside the box.
Cleaning the grinder is easy but you need a small brush to remove the used beans from the lid part of the grinder unit. We got a pastry brush for the job but you could use a new unused half inch paint brush if you wanted to.
The glass jug is quite sturdy and you can obtain a replacement from a number of outlets. The same applies to the grinder fitting.
We had forgotten just how good freshly made coffee at home can be and so this machine is going to get plenty of use.
Bought this to replace a cuisinart one that had broken, wish I had spent the extra money on another one.
Very pleased so far with this easy to use machine which produces great, freshly ground coffee with little fuss. I haven’t used the timer function but everything seems to suit my needs. Coffee could be hotter, but this seems to be the norm with home machines.
So far so good! 4 weeks in, and still grinding and brewing well. . . Will try to update at 6 months.
2018 12. Still working well a year on. Being used in a small but busy National Trust workshop, to keep the team topped up with coffee. . !
Makes a lovely cup of coffee. Easy to load coffee and put water in.
Filter is removable and easily cleanable.
Only thing is that I use the carafe to measure cups of coffee but if I put in ‘6’ cups only get about 3 out of it. That’s possibly because I drink out of a mug and it has a greater volume.
Loved coming down in the morning to a freshly ground and brewed cup of coffee, great start to the day
I was looking for that fresh ground taste from my coffee. I wanted to be able to have it ready and waiting when I got up early each morning.
I was hoping to achieve it by not having to spend 000s of pounds.
This is a great little machine that gives me that freshly ground coffee taste I was after every morning. And for on 55.
Bargain and very much recommended
I am thrilled with my new coffee maker. It arrived within 24 hours of me ordering it. Simple to set up and easy to use. I am able to use beans which it grinds for freshly ground coffee or use ready ground coffee. Absolutely delighted!
Read some of the reviews & thought I’d upgrade from the filter machine I have
I’ve not experienced any of the issues that those who have left negative feedback have had
I’m no coffee expert, but I’m very happy with i
Exactly what we wanted and great value. I read many many reviews about all different coffee makers of this style between this price and about 150. The pros and cons were all really similar but this one won due to price and someone saying it was quiet.
I’m so glad we bought this one, there was a couple of things in other people’s reviews on my cons list but none of them have bothered me at all upon getting the machine!
It is quiet and only grinds for a few seconds. We’ve had it about 4 days and have used it easily 20 times! It’s so simple to operate and to clean. You can set a timer so you wake up to coffee as well.
The people saying they don’t like the taste etc etc… I think it’s really down to you to see how you like it, you can make it stronger or weaker on the system itself or just add more or less beans/ground coffee.. I really don’t understand people saying they ‘hate’ the taste etc…just experiment! See what you like or buy some different coffee! To these people also… it’s a 50 machine, there are plenty out there for much more money if you’re extremley fussy. My husband and I love our coffee and we tried a couple of different combinations to get it how we liked it, simple.
Some reviews moan about having to out the correct amount of water in… is that really such a hardship? If we want a mug of coffee each we just pour in 4 cups of water and it’s that simple! It’s not complicated or any effort at all. The ‘cups’ are tiny and I would say 1 cup=2 mugs as other people have said too.
Last thing that almost made me not buy it.. people were saying the coffee isn’t ‘hot’… I’m fairly tough with heat and I literally cannot sip the coffee straight out of the carafe because it is hot! Yes it’s not bubbling like it’s boiled on the hob but why would you want it to be?! I like a latte so I have a separate electric mill frother which heats the milk but I tried it with lots of cold milk and it’s just perfectly drinkable.. not cold at all. If you like black coffee like my husband it’s really hot… so I’m really glad I didn’t let the reviews put me off!
For the price I’m so pleased with this and I can’t really imagine what else I would want for an under 150 bean to cup machine. We also have a pod machine and the coffee out of this one is much nicer!
Very good machine, if you have problems with the grinder then you should return it because mine is fine. I’ve stopped using my burr grinder completely now. If you use pre-ground coffee then use a filter, like all permanent filters it is simpy not fine enough without one. Yes the 40min limit is annoying but you can always turn it back on again, just don’t be like me and forget to turn the grinder off, doh. On the plus side I learned that the machine is easy to clean.
Fantastic product and it is only for the coffee not being really hot that I’m giving it four stars, I just shove a cup in microwave for 40 seconds and it is fine.
We were happy owners of the Russell Hobbs platinum grind and brew for 6 years so, when the time came to replace it, we looked at what Russell Hobbs had to offer and found this. On the manufacturer’s website, it is more expensive than the original Platinum model at 139 so the price we paid is excellent.
We read the other reviews and had a few reservations but decided it was worth the risk.
This is a good solid machine, very easy to use and produces good, balanced and tasty coffee. There are three strength options but we have only found it necessary to use the weakest.
The biggest difference between this and the platinum is that the coffee grinder is integrated into the filter so you have to measure in the exact amount of beans that you need. However, this is easy with the scoop provided – one scoop per cup. Tip: a cup is half a mug – we always make four cups for two mugs! The timer is easy once you have read the instructions. We put the beans and water in each evening, press the timer button (once set it retains it’s settings) and wake up to fresh coffee. The grinder is much quieter than our old one and very effective.
A few reviews have commented on cleaning. I don’t understand how some think this is difficult to clean. The filter lifts out easily with the handle. Empty the coffee grounds into the bin and give it a tap on the side of the bin to get as much as possible out, then simply rinse it thoroughly under running water and leave to drain.
There are two minor reasons why I have deducted a star. The first is that the coffee is not as hot as I would ideally like – we drink ours black so it’s not a huge problem but might be if you like a lot of milk. The second is that the hot plate only stays on for 40 minutes which means we can’t make extra and go back to it an hour later if wanted – our old machine stayed on for two hours if needed.
All things considered, this is a very good machine for the price.
I have owned one of these for a year, when I saw it for less than half price on amazon I took no time in ordering another one,it is on par with machines like melita and such like,I love my coffee, especially in the mornings and this machine may not carry the name of a top coffee machine or be as cosmetic as some but trust me it doesn’t disappoint!
Perfect coffee every time, has a strength button so if you like your coffee stronger you can have your coffee stronger at the push of a button.
Exceptionally quiet compared to my last machine (not this make). Very easy to clean.
Got this item today fast delivery (5 days earlier than said) but had a few issues. Firstly the plastic, factory taste. I flushed, rinsed and washed the machine all in accordance with the first time use instructions, then waited about an hour. After this i attempted to make a pot of whole bean coffee, the machine itself is reasonably quiet and isn’t to hard to use, even with the crap instructions. Although rather disappointed in the efficiency of the grinder it seems to waste a good portion of the bean, ive had a hopper with half whole beans un-grinded. However, after it started brewing which takes about 2-3 min (4 cups) i could immediately smell plastic, i was hoping it was just the smell but i could taste it quite strongly aswell. I had read some reviews before purchasing and had seen other people with simmilar problems, so I presumed the taste wasn’t going to go away. I then re – washed and rinsed several times, and could still taste it. A day went by, i washed again in hot soapy water in a ditch attempted not to send it back, and that seemed to do the trick and took most of the plastic taste away. And now 3 days on, the taste has most definitely depleted, I have also used the ‘coffee later’ function with success. I will say when setting a alarm pay attention to the and PM time displays since its only a 12 hour clock. I made this mistake by having my current time in AM not PM so the alarm time didn’t match. Ultimately you get what you pay for, don’t expect high end functionality, but it can make decent coffee, In the end.
Great addition to the kitchen. Instructions a little confusing at first and still not worked out how to keep coffee warm if not used in one serving.
Very satisfied, happy for my purchase.you have to “play” a little in order to find the intensity of the coffee yoy prefer but that is upon anyones taste.as personaly i prefer my coffee stronger ,I “rig” the settings as if the coffe is for larger quantity of cups so it vecomes stronger.value for money
Arrived in good time and well packaged. Very easy to use and so far no real problems. worth buying and I recommend.
This was a group present to thank one of our friends for always putting us up on nights out etc. Was well received and they seem happy with it, its quiet and does the job and its brilliant having coffee on a timer.
To all those saying its loud etc, what did you expect, you cant grind coffee and produce no noise. Get Real.
I bought this for work and I work long hours 19:00 to 07:00. I like being able to set the machine up before I go home, and when I get to work I have a pot of fresh ground hot coffee. I have seen other people posting about a bad taste, but I do not have that issue at all. I also like the feature of being able to make the coffee stronger. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase, and I would buy it again.
Easy to use and set up, grinder is very quiet compared to my hand held one and the timer function makes it great for early mornings (it’s so much easier to get out of bed when the smell of freshly brewed coffee is wafting through the hallways.)
It took a while to calculate the coffee to water ratio for the perfect cuppa but once you know how you like it it’s very consistent. Descaling is a bit of a faff but otherwise a great coffee machine for the money.
Have used it for about 3 weeks now. Sometimes the basket does not nestle properly so it won’t auto-start. Otherwise very happy with it.
For the price the machine is performing well both grind and filter.
The grinder coffee fill area is a little difficult to access and clean.
All in all good value for money
