Battery life on a 3 amp fully charged, did not last long at all. I would have expected a longer use. Still its battery use.

Excellent tool so far – but quite a recent purchase, so time will tell how it bears up. But, so far, easy to use, well balanced, very mobile thanks to being cordless, and feels robust.

Good for light grinding and cutting work (I.e 20-30 min tasks). Seriously depletes batteries though, at least a 4mAh battery reccomended.

As per all Ryobi products I own. Great tools for occasional use. Cut steel and a few patio slabs with this no problem. Battery life as expected (I have invested in a few batteries so not a problem).

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhen i first received the item I wasn’t 100% sure with the design. Usually for a cordless grinder the battery aims sideways or backwards, whereas this faces forwards.
This design however doesn’t affect the use at all. If you run the grinder without the guard (which I like to do) then some sparks can go towards where the battery is placed but if you use the guard then this isn’t an issue.
Once you power it off the grinder has a brake which stops the disc spinning quicker (ideal safety feature)
It comes with the guard, handle and 125mm grinding disc.
I’ve used the item multiple times for work on cars (I’m a mechanic) and it always does the job effortlessly. I would definitely recommend the item to anyone whether for diy or professional use.

As usual from Ryobi, this like my drills etc does a great job and the battery which is 4amp last for ages. Haven’t done any really heavy duty cutting or grinding yet but I’m sure it will cope well.

I have used mains powered grinders so I was expecting a lesser experience with a battery model.
Not the case, this performs amazingly well, I was pleasantly surprised.
The discs are easy to change, feels great in the hands, they have got the weight balance just right.
Not much else to say, it does the job, well done Ryobi.

A 5ah battery is a must for this grinder. Even then it only lasts about 10 minutes of constant use. Also, the cut out is a little sensitive. A
I’ve got used to this now and don’t apply too much pressure when cutting steel… does the job really well.

All in all, a nice tool!

    Excellent grinder.
Definitely recommend using a larger battery with this tool.
2.0Ah battery doesn’t last long at all
5.0Ah battery or better definitely required. Works well with this size battery

Good Cordless Angle Grinder that is easy to set up and use, I had read they tend to cut out a lot and I found this to be the case until I realised this was happening when the battery was getting low, as soon as I fitted a fully charged one all is fine but you do not get long on a full charge

Got this to grind / cut small cobble and stone. Just perfect. Cuts through 40mm thick limestone cobble easily enough. Atone that comes with grinder not great but you can get cheap quality options separately ( don’t use ryobi for that )

his has had poor reviews ,i have used this to put my patio in ,never jammed ,cut through like butter, was a pleasure to use, think most people are useing the metal cutting disc it comes with ,i bought a diamond cutting blade and used a 9ah battery and never had a problem.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought this while doing a decking job and got a Bosch diamond tip blade to use with it. I managed to cut two slabs with relative ease without the safety cut out kicking in and with water on the cutting point. I didn’t use the stock disk that comes with it which won’t be as good quality – I’m assuming that some of the negative reviews were from those who used the standard disk. So get you’re self a decent disk for the job and this will be fine.

This is easily as powerful as my corded grinder. Only thing I would say is you need the high capacity batteries as it eats through them like no other tool.

Bought this grinder after my previous Ryobi’s untimely demise. Wow, how much these have improved over the years. No need for separate key to tighten the spindle, Bruslhless ” suprising how much more powerful these are, lighter than the older model also a spring loaded adjustable guard.
    Well impressed, would definitely recommend.

Good on most uses but struggles on cutting metal. Other issue although not a major problem is the switch it’s a little stiff to switch on. Purchased to use outside where power supply is difficult to reach and also find it handy to switch blades with quick release mechanism.

Waited on a little while to get some use before review; my use has admittedly been pretty heavy stuff for a cordless grinder, but this is doing remarkably well esp for price when compared vs milwaukee or makita eqivs. I only ever get the corded grinder out now if the workpiece is particularly brutal to cut and needs lots of pressure / disc size

Not for any heavy duty work. Even with a big battery, you’re not going to get much runtime. Perfect for flap disks, wire brush and light grinding. If you use it for any heavy work, the battery overheats and cuts out. And that’s with a 4 amp battery.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI use this with both a 2ah battery and a 5ah battery and don’t believe the reviews. I almost didn’t buy it because of people complaining about the kickback failsafe. Yes it has kickback and It saved my bacon but you don’t need to take the battery out just switch it off and on again.

I’ve always been wary of cordless tools due to their questionable power and battery endurance.
This cordless angle grinder has great battery life and plenty of torque.
I use it whenever a small angle grinder is needed and my corded mains powered angle grinder stays in the tool box.
I hasn’t displaced its 9″ big brother for heavy duty work mind you.

Really high quality feeling tool. Managed to get about 25 minutes of use out of it from a 5Mha official battery.
Would highly recommend it with it being brushless and the ability to swap disks in seconds!
