Brilliantly simple
Good ol’ fashioned timer, no battery needed, functions well with loud ring. It’s of course not as accurate as the electronic, but how often do you need to time to the exact quarter minute?
Very practical and has good quality
I bought it for my mum. She can use it easily and I think it is really useful. Its sound is enough to hear when it rings. I dropped it many times but it continues to work properly. It has good quality.
Excellent counter top mechanical timer.
Very easy to set, just have to remember to turn round to 60 each time before setting time you need.
No battery to replace. Great for those with arthritic fingers. Simple to use in every respect. Sturdy.
Bought this after previously paying alot for another which broke after a few uses, this one is sturdy easy to use and accurate, I am messy in the kitchen, so easy to wipe over no nooks or crammies for flour etc to get stuck i
Make Sure You Turn Timer Full 360 Degrees 1st B4 Turning To Time Needed To Ensure Ring Is Loaded
Saw someone mentioned that the ring was short – realised you have to load it first by turning timer 360 then to designated time to ensure ring is long and loud.
Loud ringer !
Works ok. You have to turn it all the way round to maximum time and then back to the minutes you want, which I find a bit awkward. Also the ringer rings for as long as it wants to, you can’t stop it.
It lasted 18 months ...
It replaced an egg-shaped one that gave up after 3 months. This lasted for 18 months, so I guess I should be pleased, although I can’t help thinking that such a simple mechanism should last for a bit longer. While it worked, the ring was long and loud enough; more recently it has been perfunctory; a sign of imminent demise, I suppose. whenI have time and the right screwdriver, I shall take it apart to see if I can work out why it failed; I suspect it wasn’t meant to last too long to ensure future purchases.
Met my expectation!
I am glad with my purchase! It arrived on time and so far after nearly one week, it’s working well. From my previous experiences with my other timers, I knew how it works if you want to set it up for 5 min or under 5 min so I didn’t have that problem which some buyers had.
Time
What can you say about a timer except that it does not take expensive batteries that need to be disposed of. You can carry it around with you. Has a very loud ring.
Great!
It’s a sad life when you get over excited about a kitchen timer but it’s got to be said, this is a really good one. The alarm is loud but not too loud, and it goes for about ten seconds so you can’t miss it. Even better, it stays put on the kitchen worktop. All the others I’ve had tend to move slightly as they tick away, especially as they get older, and usually end up dropping off the edge and smashing on the floor or drowning themselves in the sink. Not this fella though. A good buy.
No nonsense no fuss
This ‘old fashioned’ timer works well compared to fancy gadgets and one can trust the Salter name. It is one of my most useful things in my kitchen.
Very Sturdy
I prefer the old fashioned dials rather than the digital it is alot easier to work. Very clear and easy to use. Would recommend
Sturdy kitchen time
Very pleased with the kitchen timer.
Well made and very accurate.
Just as I was expecting!
The switch, including the surround, is all black. From a distance, it is difficult to see where it is pointing
Reliable
A good reminder of when you need to rescue something from the cooker, or wake you when taking a nap!
Loud & long ringe
My elderly and quite deaf father uses this daily as an alert to wake him from an afternoon snooze. The ring is loud enough and long enough to do this so I guess it would be fine in the kitchen. (This is the second one purchased, the first one failed after 2 1/2 years of daily use, so I don’t really begrudge having to buy another at this price).

Good Time
A good timer for the money. A wee bit fiddly to get the timer started, but once you get the hang of it, the timer works well. A good bell!!

Easy to use
Very easy to use, loud bell ring which you can hear from different rooms, would recommend.
It does not work
As from today 16th June this product has ceased to work so would request a refund
A kitchen essential
When the time came to replace our old wind-up timer, we bought a digital one thinking it would be more efficient. We were wrong and after only several months of having to regularly change batteries, we reverted back to a manual timer and bought this Salter manual timer which not only looks good but is extremely functional and efficient.
No more burnt offerings
A good well made timer that can be used for many purposes. Clockwork so no need for batteries. Looks nice next to the Aga.
Great Time
Easy to use very sturdy. Nice looking just a good Timer.
A good replacement!
My previous timers proved unreliable and Zalter is an excellent replaceme
It’s sturdy and well made.
It’s not a cheap flimsy timer like most are, I’ve had so many that break days after buying them, this is definitely worth the price, I guess you only get what you pay for!
Cheap isn’t always cheap in the long run.
