I have only just bought this so looking forward to experimenting ! I used it to cook some Tofu and that was delicious and a perfect result slightly crispy on the outside and creamy centre. My son used it to cook his Linda McCartney “no chicken” basket and again absolutely perfect

Well, isn’t this a handy piece of kit! It is a bit plastic smelly when you get it out of the box, but that fades. I cooked some breaded chicken goujons and parsnip fries altogether on my first go and they were loverly. Then I cooked some roast potatoes and venison steaks. Both were delicious. Have been looking for a decent cook book as there are only the dials on the machine to guide you, but I think it’s quite simple. It’s easy to check how fast things are cooking by simply opening the drawer. Just coat things with oil and spices of your choice and put in the basket. It’s much easier to clean than a baking tray!

Does the job, but the build is plasticky
So far this little fryer has been a good alternative to a deep fat fryer. The plastic trim on the removable pan is quite plasticky and the removal and refitting of the pan is not smooth, often feeling as if its fouling something and needs a good shove to seat it into place.
The fryer is fine for two people, but struggles with three portions of chips. If you can shake them to rotate the ones on the bottom you end up with over done at the top and underdone at the bottom. Fries work better, and oven fries needed no oil at all.
But for 43 it was worth a punt and it for two people is just right. How long the catch last is anyone’s guess.

I’m one for buying gadgets and never using them, but this airfryer is superb. Easy to use and clean. Meals in minutes and my grandson cooks beautiful roast potatoes.
I was in 2 minds whether to buy an air fryer as wasnt sure if I’d use it, so went for the compact Salter one. This is a neat fryer and doesnt take up a lot of worktop space, it;s also small enough to put into a cupboard. The container for cooking is very small and I would say suitable (just about) for 2 people. So far have cooked my own chips – not terribly successful, and frozen chips which turned out a lot better. Tonight I cooked jacket potatoes (microwave first to start them off) and wiped oil over skins and put them in fryer for about 15-20 mins on 200 deg and they were nice and crispy skins. Bought a recipe book but its not great as it does’nt give pictures and recipes not great. All in all, its not a bad fryer to start with. But think I should have gone for the 3 ltr one.

Had to replace my old one so chose this. I am very pleased with it. Easy to use. If cleaned when still hot, it cleans very easily. I would recommend this to family and friends.

Brilliant , iv hardly had my oven on, cook everything in it now, favourite so far is stuffed bell peppers and chicken breas
Perfect size for 1 or 2 people. Temperature and timings are same as for oven if using frozen products. Warms up 10 times quicker than conventional oven. Very easy to clean, pan and trivet wash up with pots in warm soapy water. No messing with stuck on product. Flavour is ideal and none is lost in cooking. A child could use this machine (with supervision)

I love it, but is it possible to even add a spoonful of oil when making chips, as they can be a bit dry?
Amazing everything that could possible be air fried is perfect air fried. Totally obsessed, chicken is cooked perfectly and never dry. You do need to use a wee bit oil on your food if you want it to cook nice and not be hard or raw in middle. Depending on the size of the food cooking it dosnt take the full recommended time. I look ever 5 minutes then 1 or 2 minutes till feel it’s ready

The best air fryer on the market I ordered this after lot of reviews and so glad I did it is a large air fryer and can cook whole chicken of 6 leg pieces. Worth every penny

My actifry started falling to bits over xmas so decided to try an air fryer. Boy am I happy with it! Its quiet to use does everything my actfry did and more. Only had it a couple of days so lots of experimenting to do. So far I have cooked chips in 10 mins and the tastiest steak ever.
Its absolutely great but had to Google instructions, surprisingly no instructions or cooking book included

I bought this item for my son. He said it’s very easy to use, especially cooking chips, fish fingers, and chicken nuggets, and you can cook them all in one go. They turn out great! And at least I can see that he is cooking for himself now!

My air fryer was delivered today cant fault delivery time as it turned up a day early.
Very dissapointed with the contents in the box as no instructions on how to use the fryer and no menu settings. No instructions on how long it takes to cook different items.my parents have got the same model and they got all this information.so not pleased with this delivery.
I bought this unit 2 years ago and it’s severd me well I’ve used it most days and cooked what ever I was cooking spot on steak nicely done and moist as were chips would highly recommend down side the handle that is fixed to the inner basket has come adrift and after investigating found the the plastic the the handle is fixed to the inner basket has gone brittle and therefore won’t clip onto the outer draw so makes life difficult to pull out and release the inner basket I have done a desert repair so I can still use it tried to see if I could get a replacement part from Salter but they say they don’t do replacement draws you have to buy a new unit which I find hard to believe things are going to wear out but it seems we live in a throw away society!!! Unless somebody out there can tell me where I could get one otherwise good produc
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I bought this but I thought it was worth a pun for less than 40. After using it for 2 weeks, I can honestly say I’m impressed.
I’ve cooked chips, hash browns, sweet potato and steaks in it so far — and maybe some other things that I can’t recall.
No oil is required and cooking is really easy — chuck the food in the cooking compartment, place it back then turn the two dials to the required timer and temperature.
There are images on the temperate dial which is a great visual reminder of the necessary heat needed for different things.
Food like chips come out nice and crisp, much nicer than oven cooking. Not quite as good as using a traditional fryer with clean oil, but this air hot fryer is a healthier option.
When I threw in a sirloin steak, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But the outcome was a nicely cook steak which wasn’t dry.
No mess is really created so cleaning is easy, just simply wipe clean.
The 2L version I bought is just large enough to do 2 portions of chips etc. Keep this in mind as you may need the larger version (3.2L) if cooking for a family.
I bought this for my mother-in-law who is 90. She is worried about her weight but wanted something that would give her the ability to fry without all the calories. I bought a larger one for myself in Lidl, also a Salter, and I was so impressed that I thought she would love one too. This one is little, great for 1 or 2 people. You can cook all sorts in this, even pop a sausage roll in, she loves a baked potato which takes around 40 mins. Everything you cook in it takes no time at all. I would probably say it takes half the time that it would take in the oven. Top value also. Just needs a little clean in soapy water for the basket and a wipe underneath the wire rack where all the fat accumulates which takes no time at all. The only tricky bit about it (not technically minded at all) was the basket. I could not work it out for ages and then had to google (yes, really). There is a little bit at the handle where you push back to pull the basket out. YouTube if you have any difficulty.
I was not impressed with item, no detailed recipe book, seemed lengthy cooking times. However AGAIN RETURN PROCEDURES NOT STRAIGHT FORWARD, I had to pay postage, from experience I always battle to obtain refunds from sellers. Being 80+ bored with staying in I experimented with fryer, tried fish& chips, kept opening box when cooked to suit me, found very nice. Tried M&S steak onions on side cooked my way again very nice. Then breast chicken in sauce, again my way ,nice. Cancelled return, advise one must be good cook use own common sense, saved me aggro of return.
Compact and very easy to use, just follow their instructions for the 1st time of use. I purchased the 2l version and was able to cook a decent size bowl of goujons and they taste great. As you can see from my picture, it’s not as big as the ladle.
Very impressed with the varied uses of this small compact air fryer, great for single people or a couple, would recommend buying larger version for a family, chips , fish burgers and chicken breasts are a breeze as long as you shake and turn every few minutes. My only moan is the build up of oil or fat in pan, normal cleaning seems to have no effect , doesn’t detract from use or flavour.
Really easy to use and clean. Simple instructions included on how to cook a range of food. Excellent chips, onion rings & scampi as well as a wide range of other foods. Doesn’t make my kitchen smell of fried food at all. I’m very impressed with this product and use it more than expected. It has a thermostat and timer so it can’t overheat and it eliminates the danger of a fat pan spill or fire. I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend it. It is plenty big enough for my family of 3.
Have always used Actifry for my chips until my 2nd one started to slow down and get really noise.
That’s when I decided I needed a new something for chips. As I had just had my Salter Areo Cook 6 months and was over the moon with that (this replaced my halogen oven) – I thought I would give this Salter Hot air fryer a whirl. I am glad I did it’s wonderful.
I just get my potatoes (skin on), cut them into chips, place them in the basket, cook for 4 mins. Add a couple of drops of oil. Cook for further 10 mins. Done. Far superior to my Actifry.
I honestly would recommend (and have) this to anyone who wants non fatening, non greasy, crisp brown quick easy chips.
