My AKG Y500 Headphones
I highly recommend these headphones. If you want something that sounds good without emptying your bank account then these will do the job. Adjustable and comfortable and the ear pieces turn in for easy storage. I did buy an extra long charging lead as I thought the one they supply was a bit short for me. Again I’m more than happy and I hope you will be if you purchase them.

Deliver what I need
I bought these to connect to a Samsung TV, so I can watch while others are sleeping. Easy to connect up and they are doing everything I need them too. I am not keen on wearing a headset but these are relatively comfortable.
Excellent value for money
Superb sound quality for the price point. Really comfortable, compact, and with comparatively large drivers (40mm) for their overall size.
Noise cancelling is passive, not active. Still acceptable for my everyday use in the office or while walking.
‘Ambient Aware’ feature lets you hear directional external sound with both cans on your ears — a nice feature.
Build quality is reflected in the price. Quite robust, but the rattling on/off slider can be slightly off-putting. Not a major fault and far, far outweighed by the overall sound quality and comfort.

Great versatile cans
I got these for a bargain 40 as an open boxed deal. They looked brand new / never used so very pleased.
For the money, the sound is great. They are my work cans, and I use them at my desk to stream hi res files from my iPhone 13 wired via a Fiio usb DAC.
I then switch them to Bluetooth when out for a walk. Wired is definitely better, but both are very good.
Build quality is decent, and they don’t look too big on my head.
The come supplied with a handy soft pouch for travelling.
All in all a great set of cans. They just might be my bargain of the year!
Brilliant great buy
These are brilliant I use in the gym. They block all the noise out battery lasts forever they connect automatically where ya music left off after been turned off and back, pause button is easy to use. Absolutely recommend

These seem a great pair of headphones. Quality construction and good sound quality for the price. The only misleading thing is the noise cancelling which doesn’t. Not to say that it won’t keep noise out but they’re not automatic noise cancelling headphones
Well made
First of all the noise cancelling is passive with a button that mutes the audio to allow you to hear conversation. Not what I was expecting
However the reduction of external noise is adequate.
Fit is good and the on ear comfort is fine.

I had an issue with regular drop out of the signal over Bluetooth while listening to my TV which appeared to be the headphones pinging my cellphone. I cured this by switching the phone Bluetooth off.
They automatically pause audio if you take them off and then restarts (if the audio source allows it)
Quite a nice feature but unfortunately it is very sensitive and can drop audio if you are just adjusting the fit and doesn’t always restart.
Apart from these minor niggles I am very pleased with them. They are well made, look smart and have a great battery life
Wireless ANC headphones - fantastic
These are a high quality on ear headphones set. I knew these would be good from several reviews by What Hifi of other AKG headphones, these are a slight update with some extra features. Great feel to these headphones, solid and well built. They have lovely buttons, easy to use and feel built to last. Come with charging cable which can be used as a listening cable plugged into a computer. Also come with pouch for the headphones for storage. A really great price for some very high quality audiophile headphones. Got two for my kids, a bit more than what was needed, but these will last and has already helped with the long drive entertainme

Great headphones
Hugely pleased here with the purchase. These were to replace an existing pair of AKG headphones that didn’t have Noise Cancellation but I found them to be great value for money at the time. These are equally impressive and very comfortable as well. I would happily recommend these to anyone else considering buying Noise Cancellation on a budget.

Great sound, good build, not very sturdy, automatic pause can be frustrating
This is my second pair of AKG headphones, i love the sound and comfort but like the Y50s i bought, they broke too soon. In 5 months the plastic case of the headband broke around the folding joint on both sides. Managed to fix it with some superglue and tape and they still work well.
Also the automatic pause function can be quite frustrating, it will often pause music when im just adjusting the headphones and will spontaniously play music when I’m not wearing them.
Given the drawbacks these are excellent for what they cost.
Great sound.
The headset is really good but the accompanying documentation leaves a lot to be desired. When I finally found the Equaliser I was impressed because you are taken through what is effectively a hearing test to adjust the sound to your ears.

Great sound and build quality
For the money this is spot on. Sound and build quality are excellent.
Only minor points are that it uses micro USB instead of USB C and you cannot charge and use at the same time.

Great all round headphones
This item is great, upgraded from other AKG headphones and the improvements are obvious. The button to turn of the noise cancelling so you can hear your environment is so handy. They have once or twice stopped playing music for no reason but I switch them off and on and it’s fine.

So I’d only use them for walking and not exercising or anything you need to move your head much .
The build and sound I’d say are on par with beats solo 3 as my daughter has a pair .
Excellent sound quality
Excellent sound quality. Normally use in the ear headphones but this sometimes results in an ear infection so decided to try some over the ear headphones. I have a little hearing loss in the higher frequencies so paired this up with a graphic equaliser from the Play store to boost the higher frequencies and some of the bass. Very pleased with the results. The headphones are comfortable and I like the auto pause feature when you take them off. It folds quite compactly and has it’s own little drawstring bag for storage.
Brilliant for the price.
Much smaller than previous headphones I have worn but surprisingly good sound and excellent Bluetooth reception. I can wear them throughout the house without any drop off of the signal. They are also comfortable.

Excellent headphones. Nice clear sound with good bass and separation. Seemed a bit tight at first but I’ve worn these for over 3 hours at a time regularly and found them very comfortable. No idea about call functions as I just use them to listen to the tv in the early hours and to listen to music on my Note 9 both via Bluetooth. I’ve found no lag between the tv picture and sound. Top marks from me.

We have a Samsung TV with sound bar attached . We live in a flat and my husband is a little hard of hearing so we bought earphones so he could watch TV late at night without dusturbing myself ir neighbours . However it took some searching to find out why sound on TV did not turn off when connecting earphones and
just muting TV sound turned headphone sound off .
We could find nothing in instructions and were considering returning earphones when we tried one last thing . We have now discovered that to use headphones
1. You have to mute TV sound BEFORE turning headphones on .
2. When disconnecting earphones you have to go into settings and turn sound bar back on .
3. This is probably as soundbar is connected directly to TV not by bluetooth. We are waiting answer from Samsung Technical on this
Apart from this hicup he finds the earphones are excellent value and uses them to listen to music via Ipad and tablet as well as watching TV
Very comfy
Was looking around for ages for wireless headphones as I was sick of being lashed by my iPod headphone sin strong wind. Very comfy but it annoys me when the sound keeps cutting out. UPDATE – changed the pocket my ipod was in and it stopped cutting our. May have tried to connect to my phone but now working spot on.

Amazing produc
This product is amazing. The bass is outstanding along with the noise cancellation. The AKG Y500s have a long lasting battery life lasting bf me weeks before needing to charge it. Charging takes no longer than 30 minutes and all round this is amazing.
ON Ear NOT over ea
I didn’t realise these were on ear, and have taken some getting used to. first thing I found they rested on the lower part of my ear, therefore effectively blocking my ear! Have now found optimum placements, but wouldn’t say that I find them comfortable.
Build quality is very good, but a bit on the heavy side. Sound quality is ok. Controls on ear are small and fiddly.
I use headphones a lot in studio situations, but only use these for listening to music in bed.
Personally I prefer over ear , but decided to keep these due to sound and build quality.
These look as good as they sound
Pure quality, from the finish, cool look, superb sound quality and exceptional comfort. They deliver an uncompromised, rich sound. There’s up to 33 hours of wireless playback time on a single charge with an optional 5 minute speed charge for an extra hour. I particularly like the automatic play/pause automation when the headphones cover your ears or you take them off. These are ‘ambient aware’ which means that you can choose to listen or block outside noise without removing the headphones. The multilingual instructions were too small to read – the only thing that lets this superb package down. Recommended.

Great Sounding 'Phones but not much isolation...
These are a fine sounding pair of Bluetooth headphones from a well known and respected company. For me, they’re my first pair of over ear Bluetooth headphones, though I’ve tried many of the smaller earphone types with varying degrees of success and pleasure.
When you put these headphones on they feel pleasant and like quality, not cheap and plasticky but not so heavy that you’re head is weighted down. As with all head and earphones, a good fit is essential and these are fairly easy to place in the right position over the ears.
Once in use, these headphones sound great although for me they do lack a little bit of bass and isolation is not great. So you can hear you’re surroundings pretty well and, at anything but whisper volume, the people in your surroundings will be able to hear what you’re listening to too, if it’s quiet.
That aside, these headphones do connect reliably, and they have some nifty functions like auto-pause when you lift them off your head. So, on that basis, I do recommend them as long as you don’t need perfect isolation.
Great sound in a small package
Very pleased with them, they are light and compact but give excellent sound reproduction. I haven’t used noise cancelling so cannot comment on that aspect.
Good but not perfect phones
Your first impression is that these are amazing. The packaging declares high end, and they have lots of innovative features that you may find really attractive. They are so easy to connect, and can be controlled from the phones themselves. They work equally well with Bluetooth and with the cable connection (standard headphone jack), and there was little discernable difference in sound quality.
I then compared them against my Panasonic over ear phones, and that’s where I did hear a substantial difference, with the Panasonic producing a much richer sound. The AKG phones were not as comfortable to wear either, and surprisingly heavy, but I’ve got used to them as I’ve worn them.
So all in all good, but not perfect.
Four Stars!
This is a good pair of over the ear bluetooth headphones, being very lightweight and comfortable to wear. The cushioned earpieces are quite small and do take some movement to fit them completely over your ear, but once in the right place they look good. They aren’t noise cancelling as such, but do block out a lot of surrounding sound. I have noticed though that they can be heard by others around you when you are wearing them, particularly when turned up loud. Sound quality is good and the function of stopping/starting when the headphones are removed/replaced is brilliant! They come with a little pouch and fold in quite small, which is a bonus for storage. These are great value for money, good on battery life and easy to use. Would definitely recommend.
Smart, light weight bluetooth headphones with clear sound

Played some King Crimson and some Barbara Thompson (Concerto for Saxophones) and the sound was excellent – good bass, and crisp treble.
Good noise suppression from outside interference
These will be joining me on my commute – AND I won’t be distracted by external noise.
Good sound; solidly buil
This AKG headphones feel very solidly built, and fit comfortably on the ears (they perch on the ears rather than covering them up). They have physical buttons, which is my preference rather than the touch-sensitive type. You can either use them in the Bluetooth mode, or wired to 3.5 mm jacket. The supplied cable is a proprietary one, with 3.5mm jack on one end, I think 2.5mm stereo at the headphone end, and an inline microphone. It’s probably 1.2 m or so, so long enough to reach to a pocketed smartphone. For storage, the phones fold in, so they don’t take up much space in the supplied drawstring bag, which is 16×20 cm. The headphones charge through a standard micro-USB cable, so you can charge from any convenient USB or charger.
The sound quality is good, although being the ‘perched’ type headphone, you don’t get much rejection of background noise, and some noisy places (like train stations), you notice the background. In use, I found have the controls on the phones easy-to-use while on the move.
Not for me
I own a similar pair of AKG headphones that doesn’t have bluetooth (a tech which I’ve only recently fully embraced). So I was excited to try these out and see if they would become replacements.
Unfortunately I haven’t really liked them. They seem especially bulky, protruding far outwards at the sides. They’re fairly comfortable, but they have the same issue as my other pair where because of their swivel design – it can be hard without looking in a mirror to have them fit symetrically on your ears. The feature set is good, but the sound really left something to be desired for me.
These aren’t bad by any means and for context I have a lot of great sound options to choose from – but I was hoping these would provide a convenient alternative for walking about town and they don’t fit that purpose for me.
Intuitive
I found them easy to set up and intutive to use, but I don’t find them that comfortable, and it felt like they pressed too much on my ears, even though I have a pretty average sized female head and didn’t even have to extend them to fit over my head.
The sound is okay, although I found it quite shallow and a bit tinny at times, although they do allow you to hear what is going on around you relatively well. They do pair to two devices easily, but if they switch to the secondary device they have to be returned to the primary manually.

Simply Brillia
These are full-size on-ear headphones, as opposed to in-ear earphones or over-ear headphones.
Firstly, packaging and presentation give the look and feel of a truly premium product. The box and inner carton are of high quality and present the headphones really well. The instructions and accessories are under the main carton insert.
The headphones themselves have a reassuring weight to them, without being too heavy. The adjustable headband is lightly padded for comfort, but not bulky. The phones sit on the ears comfortably.
Functionality is excellent and Bluetooth pairing is so straightforward. These can pair with 2 devices and easily switch between them. If one of the devices is a phone, an incoming call will take priority and acquire the headphones, even if the phone is not the primary connection at the time. During music playback, lifting one of the phones, or removing the headset will pause the music. Replacing the headphones will resume playback. This works with videos as well.
An ambient aware option can be used when out and about with the headphones on. This reduces the volume slightly and the presence – effectively narrowing the sound field. Although this allows you to better hear what is going on around you, it should not be used if your full attention is required – driving, out on busy streets, etc.
Play, pause, skip forward and back, can all be accessed via simple slide controls on the headphones. Sir or Google Assistant can be summoned by a press and hold. The microphone gives good clear sound and I have held phone conversations and the other party wasn’t aware that the call was handsfree through this set. An audio cable with inline remote is included for connecting to devices without Bluetooth. This offers play/pause and start/end cal. Basic, but it works.
The headphones fold and stash in a nice little carry bag that comes with them.
Sound quality is excellent – pretty much as you would expect for larger driver headphones.
I’ve been listening for a few hours, over a few days and so far haven’t had to charge them.
All told, I am very impressed.
So very, very nearly perfec
These are so very nearly perfect in every respect, wonderful quality feel to them, sturdy and firm. Excellent sound quality in every respect. Delightfully easy to turn on and off. I haven’t had them long enough to comment on the noise cancellation but first impressions are that it is very good – time will tell. What makes them a clear 4 stars and not the five they deserve for sound is the design of the most important aspect regarding comfort – the ear cups. They are slightly rounded, fairly small, and are not held firmly over the ears and thus have a mobile tendency to flop about. What a shame – otherwise a superb bit of kit.

Brilliant sound.
The sound out of these is absolutely fantastic better than any headphones I’ve had. The quality is brilliant and the design is great my only criticism is the size of the pads, if you have biggish ears like my you may have a problem and they may not feel very comfortable when wearing them and also they do slip off your head very easily. The controls are easy to use and very responsive, the charging time is very quick but I did use my own fast charging cable not the one it came with. You get a very nice carry bag the store them in when not in uses.
Excellent sound quality with thundering bass
Some headphones can be hit or miss, But these wireless headphones really hit the spot for me. The sound quality is excellent, With sharp clear notes coupled with thundering bass that is loud yet defined. I enjoy the auto pause function when i take my headphones off, As i don’t miss any music if i have to suddenly attend to a conversation or a phone call. It is USB charged and comes with the cable and clear instructions. So far has shown no issues with loss of sound quality or disconnections, And has around 30+ hours of playtime before needing another recharge.
I have used these with a few different devices and I like them overall, though there is a few issues.
I am no audiophile but the sound quality is good. Possibly better than any other headphones I have personally used, though that is not saying a great deal. Comfort is also not bad, at least for on ear headphones. I have a larger head and I can generally wear them for a while without much of a problem. Battery life is very good so far and build quality aldo seems pretty solid. The supplied carrying pouch is not going to provide much protection but the material has a reasonably high quality feel to it. It also does not really add bulk and the headphones fold down to a nicely compact size.
Unfortunately, bluetooth reliability is not as solid as I am used to from some BeatX headphones. Latency is pretty acceptable for watching videos and maybe even casual gaming but it is prone to being choppy at times and sometimes requires a disconnect/reconnect, in order to settle down. This is primarily in a busy office with a bunch of other bluetooth devices no doubt in use, so perhaps it will be better for home use or outdoors.
Finally, some of the notification noises are obnoxiously and unnecessarily loud. In particular the connection tones and the ambient aware enabled noises (the latter of which seems to just turn the volume down a bit and is not all that useful to me).
Your mileage may vary on the connection strength but these niggles mar an otherwise decent quality set of headphones.
These headphones are comfortable to wear and give very good sound quality. I have hearing problems and these allow me to hear clearly when connected to my tablet, for example. The one problem that I have had with them, which is quite possibly not the fault of the headphones, is that when I connect them via bluetooth to a smart tv, they show up as ‘connected’ but I don’t get any sound coming through – I have checked volume levels but there may be something else I am missing. Otherwise I am very pleased with them – I have had other, less expensive, headphones but I think these are well worth the price.
The finish on the headband of the first pair I had started peeling but was sent replacement with no hassle. Easy to set up and control. Sound is excellent. I find the size a little tight but other than that an excellent choice.
Got these to replace a set of AKG YBT50s and like a lot. A little bit smaller so easier to have with you all day. Seemlessly synced with my Samsung Note 8, call quality / microphone excellent, used with Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp and standard voice.
Musical quality is more than acceptable over BT, I seem to remember the YBTs having a bit more oomph but hooked up to a Graham Slee Voyager headphone amp and these really shine, more so than the YBTs, truly excellent detail coming through.
