bereits aufgebaut, guter Klang, nette Optik

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAs good as you'll get.
After 5 years of playing a Roland El Cajon (review done for this product also) as a gigging performer, I decided it was time to replace it with a new Cajon. For reasons explained in the other review, it would this time, be an acoustic only model as it would be far better for live performance.

I did a reasonable amount of research, reading reviews, watching videos and for me, one Cajon was standing out above the rest – this one. It looked exquisite and sounded great. Being a Schlagwerk and in an upper price bracket, I guessed it would be typical German quality too.

I wasn’t disappointed. This is a lovely Cajon. It sounds superb with great separation between bass and snare. The bass is great especially with the CBT10 Cajon Bass Tube fitted which is a Schlagwerk option. Build quality is superb also. It has an easily removable snare (should you wish to) and a neat little non-slip seat pad which works surprisingly well.

The photo is of mine fitted with a Schlagwerk Cajon Foot Pedal and a side attached tambourine.

Base and snare sound perfect. The sound gets even better as zou continue to play it regularly. I really enjoy playing the Cajon and will certainly recommend this product for anyone seeking to "invest" in a good Cajon.

    Increible sonido. Super bonito.
Es un cajn con un sonido increble y terminados excelentes. 100 % recomendable. Tiene agudos muy bien definidos y un sonido potente. Comparados con otros cajones, este es el mejor que he tenido.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersCrafted, beautiful instrume
This Schlagwerk cajon is fantastic! I know they are considered a more premium brand, and this has definitely lived up to that expectation.
I enjoy playing it every time. The construction is flawless, down to the beveled edges and corners. I play it at least once a week, and I find the lows are exceptional. It needed very minimal adjustments from the factory settings to produce the tones I have come to expect from cajons.

I thought I would use the removable snare option more, but I’ve found with the way the snares are placed, I get the sounds I want.
My one caution regards the removing/replacing of the snares. I believe the instructional video I watched showed a different model with a larger rear hole. The video showed the snares coming out with room to spare. On my cajon, the hole is smaller and requires a more careful extraction so you don’t damage any of the snare wires. I think the hole size assists in producing the sound I love, so I am happy to take the extra ten seconds to carefully remove the snares when needed.

For a non stop finger tapper, this is the ultimate new seat in the living room. I get to sit and jam out while I watch my little one dance and play along. As an instrument, very well made and a joy to play. I have broken my hand pretty badly before and I can play for extended periods without any pain. Perhaps the soft touch was worth the few extra dollars.

Good Snare sound but the low end is weak. I read the more its played the better the sound. So I will keep playing it. I will see what happens.

We've been very happy with this Cajon. Very nice looking and it sounds great. You can definitely buy one for less money, but this thing is well made! I'd buy it again.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe sound of the box is crisp, and after a month of playing I still learn new sounds I can make on it. Seriously great buy.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersTight sound that only gets better with time!
I was looking to buy a cajon for me and my son. We are both beginners on the cajon, but my son plays the drums so I knew he would pick up cajon playing in short time. I did some research and tried out some Meinl, LP, and Pearl models at a few Guitar Centers. I didn’t want to spend much money, but I didn’t like any of the cajons I tried out. This is a matter of taste, but I looking for a tight sound with bass notes that weren’t overshadowed by the snares. Through reviews, buying guides, and YouTube videos (look for Cajon Comparison), I came to the decision that I wanted the Schlagwerk 2-in-1.

Man, it’s an awesome cajon! I’m very happy with the quality of this cajon and the sound we get from it. And the best part is that the sound has been getting better over the 2 months that we’ve had it. It could be that we’re striking the box more properly now than before, but it sure sounds better.

If you’re in the market for a low-priced cajon to get started on, I would strongly suggest adding the Schlagwerk 2-in-1 to your list of possible buys. Yes, it costs more than the Meinl Headliner, but you owe it to yourself to give Schlagwerk a try, if possible, before making the final decision.

Sounds true to the Schlagwerk sample video. Bass is deep, snare tones are crisp, & very good separation of snare from bass notes. Very nicely (German) made.

I somehow found mine for $140 & it was a great buy!! Upgraded from a birch sawtooth, noticeably sounds better. Schlagwerk really makes quality products!:)

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI'm a guitarist and this is the first Cajon I've ever played or seen in person. That said, I've played for many years and do have a decent ear for tone. From the perspective of my rock/blues/pop-based sensibilities, this has a great sound. My kids have fun with it, and it does a surprisingly good job of taking on the role of a full drum kit during acoustic jams. I couldn't be more happy with it.
