My Wife and I are very happy with this product. We bought it just after Christmas.
There’s 3 items to clip together when taken out of the box. You get a charger and two battery packs, each lasting 40min (according to the manual). We never know, as it only ever takes us 30min to vacuum the whole house.
Unfortunately, If you have a 3 million (pound plus) mansion, you may require a 3rd battery pack!
We have a 3 bedroom house; and one battery pack is more than enough, but it’s nice to have a back up.
The power that comes from this unit is great, but here’s the test. Pick a room (with carpet if possible) and vacuum it using your old vacuum cleaner and then re-vacuum using the new unit and you will see the difference!

After reading other reviews. I was suckered into buying this hoover however it’s not the best. It still has its problems. I like the fact it has two batteries. So one is always full but it is a bit big and it does not suck it all up so suction power is a bit missing. It’s a good hoover but it’s not perfect. It does not stand up on its own. It is a bit big and lumpy. But what can I say. It’s better than my old one.

This is the best vacuum I’ve ever had. The spare battery is wonderful, means you don’t get stopped before the job’s finished. It does a good job, doesn’t need too much storage space as the handle folds down. There are cheaper vacuums out there but definitely worth paying that little bit extra.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHaving owned 3 Dyson corded and two hand helds i was a but reluctant to but this, but a friend recommened it so….

For me, with two flights of stairs dragging the Dyson up and down was a real pain, bashing the paintwork, it falling down the stairs, the cord catching on things really drove me mad and put me off doing it, and the hand helds ran out of juice so quickly they weren’t any use to me for that job.

This cordless is a revelation. Good build quality, great battery life, no cord, it is a game changer for me. You do need to buy the attachment which doesn’t come with this, but at 30 it’s not too expensive. I don’t find it too heavy, the only downside is the dust collection unit which is a bit small, slightly larger than the one on a Dyson handheld but i’ll live with that, as the upside more than makes up for it, highly recommended.

This beats the Dyson I had hands down. Instructions are a breeze as they are on the cleaner. The windy thing that traps hair is sheer genius and the two batteries mean you can clean in one go without having to wait for a recharge. I also love the light, you can actually see the dust.

If Inhad a wish list I’d like the long attachment to be longer because the cylinder of the handheld is quite bulky.

But that aside, this is a really good item.

Sucks better than my “V7” by that other famous brand, with more than twice the battery life too, especially with the second battery. Easy to empty and the “under furniture” feature is inspired.
LED “headlights” are useful to have. Supplied with a good set of tools AND a separate battery charger so you can charge the second battery whilst using the first.

First time I used it hair was wrapped around the brush the same as any other vacuum! So could have bought similar product for a fair bit less money!

For a battery operated vacuum cleaner the Shark has great suction power. I like the fact that it has two battery power packs which mean that one could be on standby if the other one you are using should suddenly run down in the middle of vacuuming. Also, unlike some makes, this has tools to brush upholstery and get into those crevices. A great all-in-one cleaner.

Our previous Vacuum Cleaner, was, is, a Hoover. I won’t name the model etc, but it’s useless!! We have used a Dyson Cordless, which was a big improvement on the Hoover, however, given the Hype about Dyson technology and innovation, my opinion, they lack innovation and technology..So searching for a replacement unit was, initially, a bit of a dilemma. I did some research and had the Shark highly recommended to us, we opted for this particular model, for its anti hair wrap, allergy/pet friendly, versatility and twin battery packs. Less than a week in, and pleased to report its amazing. (Yes I know it’s sad to be excited about a Vacuum Cleaner) Ashamedly, the impact after hoovering the carpets, revealed a finish similar to having it washed! We haven’t used all the tools that go with it as yet, the lights on the front are superb and very useful. The ability to change from hard floor to carpet at the flick of a switch is great, battery life has yet to be tested thoroughly, however so far so good. The fact that two lithium batteries are provided provides additional flexibility and resilience, unlike the Dyson. Will provide a further update once it’s been used for a longer period, so far, so good and would most definitely recommend it….

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBought this to replace a Dyson v6, decided new Dysons were too expensive so after some research went with the Shark. Took a bit of a punt, but so far it’s paying off. Despite the price difference the Shark feels good quality, it’s also great not having to change the head for carpets and hard floors, flick a switch and your good to go, and a simple trigger to apply boost, great! Bought the version with 2 batteries, haven’t managed to run one down fully yet, but good to have the backup, also nice that it has an indicator on the side of the battery so you know when its running out, beats the Dyson that told you it was low on battery by stopping. Emptying the bin is easier too, with a lot less mess. Then there’s the noise, the Shark is so much quiter, my 4 year old was scared of the old one and would run away anytime we hoovered, not anymore.
Some have mentioned the running lights being unnecessary, but I quite like them really shows up the dirt, it is a shame you cant turn them off but its not a deal breaker. Only slight downside is the extra weight, it is slightly heavier than the Dyson but unless you are particularly old or weak its not going to be a bother. Also like that I no longer have to store a cleaner on the wall can fold this up and shove in a cupboard.
All in all would recommend this, especially for the price no regrets going with Shark!

If you were a Dyson customer then this product is for you! I’ve had a couple of wired Dysons over the last 25 years, I decided to purchase the Dyson V8 thinking it was going to perform. I was bitterly disappointed with it having a battery error after just 1 minute of use! This Shark vacuum cleaner is built more like a cordless powertool instead of clever trickery that doesn’t work with the Dyson. It comes with 2 batteries too and has been designed by someone that knows what they’re doing! The duo function is exactly what you need going betweem hard flooring or carpets without clunking in a different attachment. Plus this is so easy to use that you’ll find yourself with a cleaner house because it takes secondsto get it out compared with a corded vacuum cleaner.

Purchased one for my mother in Black Friday sale to replace her Dyson, yes it’s a little heavier than the Dyson but was a fraction of the price. Easy to assemble and operate. Suction is fabulous and bendy feature very useful for going under tables, chairs and radiators. My mothers had gone up in price so treated myself to next model up, four days later so I guess that speaks volumes. So easy to clean stairs instead of hoiking the upright one around. The tool for vacuuming car is more powerful than my Black & Dekker hand held. Vacuuming is so much easier and quicker. Very pleased with my purchase. (I don’t normally write reviews but felt in this case it was justified!)

Bought as a replacement for a Dyson corded. Great piece of kit, came with the two batteries, charger and various tools in a bag. Can do large bedrooms, landing, Hall, bathroom, kitchen and living room with one battery on full charge.
Makes a great job of carpets and hard surfaces, and has a boost trigger for increased suction when needed. Emptying is doddle as is switching tools and also the length of the pole.
Very neat to store as folds in half and batteries can be charged in charger or plugged in whilst connected to the vacuum.
    All in all, highly recommended

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve had two big buys in November and this has impressed me the most. I’d bought a cheap Vax cordless earlier in lockdown and it wasn’t doing the job, my carpets and rugs were looking awful. One pass with this Shark and everything looked great, so much cleaner. Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersOnly 4 star, because of 3 things. Firstly the dust collection is small, but if your house isn’t dirty it will suffice. Secondly the anti hair system doesn’t work 100%. I have a wife and daughter who both have long hair and it definitely collects most of their hair unlike our old vacuum which clogged up in days. Thirdly it is a bit top heavy and you can not leave it standing alone, it falls over. Apart from these slightly annoying things which we have not got used to it is still a good vacuum cleane

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSimply superb! If pushed to find fault it is that it cannot stand up alone due to being top heavy, so to let go you must lay it down or fold it down. This is the first time I’ve used a stick vacuum and not considered it a “stick”, in the sense that it’s extremely powerful, with premium build quality with unique features, and no worry about battery life, which is what I’d expect with a full plug vacuum cleaner.

Everything about this Shark is just the very best quality. The build is of course fantastic, with every joint very strong and durable. The base is the special part though, of course. You have two brushes which are easily switched between depending on the surface you’re vacuuming and the front is close enough to the brushes and suction that getting right up to a skirting board and getting everything up is possible, which previous stick vacuums have failed at.

As a pet owner I’ve always been cutting hair from my old vacuum, and I was admittedly slightly skeptical about this Anti Hair Wrap technology, so I used this enough to have a few bin empties without looking the the rollers themselves, and when I did I was pretty shocked to see no hair wrapped around. It’s a vacuuming revelation! I’ve found the battery life to be excellent and it having two included just completes the package. I’m hoping it’ll last a long, long time.

Golden Review Award: 31 From Our UsersIt’s a bit awkward to use as all the weight is up top you can’t just let it free stand as it will topple over and crash to the ground. The wheels are very slick so this initially happened a lot. You have to prop it up if you leave it or break and bend it over each time so that it does not topple over. Not being able to switch off the headlights is counter intuitive for saving the battery power but 80 minutes use on a full charge still gives ample time and buying the two battery option is more than enough to meet average requirements. Having not to find somewhere to permanently fix the charging unit to an outlet is a bonus. A bit disappointed there are no hooking places on the cleaner for the additional tool heads. However, in spite of these little nags I would highly recommend it. Excellent battery life. Excellent handling qualities and excellent suction power means you will be emptying it more often than you thought you would. An excellent buy.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersNot exactly light weight, so I wouldn’t buy it for my grandparents, but it’s light enough that using it doesn’t tire my arms out.

I found it very easy to use and appreciated that the hard floor setting kept the suction power but turns down the rotation speed.

The suction is what I’d expect from a good hoover, and only doesn’t get 5 stars from me because very occasionally I’ll try to go over the same spot multiple times.

In terms of battery power, you can probably hoover an average sized flat with this before changing the battery, for a small flat you absolutely don’t need the extra battery.

There’s a trigger to boost the suction for as long as you hold it down, it’s easy to keep held down with one hand. However I assume that that’s a bad idea because of overheating or something, but it’s nice that the manufacturer included the ability to boost the power rather than just limiting it like lazier manufacturers would do.

I find that, for now at least, Shark are trying to make a better hoover than Dyson and it shows in both the lower price and the quality of the product.

Seriously, the lights on the front are great, you can see all the dust, hair, bits etc ahead of you or in can’t get to places, and this is where the attachments come in… I bought the one with twin batteries although it was dearer, but our house often has several rooms needing doing the same morning, it’s useful. When changing the bedding, it can vacuum the mattress, the topper and the under sheet as well as the valance. It is great for doing under cabinets and beds as it folds at the waist so humans don’t have to….Everything on the tin. Love i

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have long hair and with my old machine was always having to cut the hair off the roller, but now one or two strands at most escape the anti hair wrap mechanism. I’m very pleased with this purchase. Plus features – easy to set up, battery charger small and neat, the lights do light up the darkest corners in a searchlight beam, the trigger feature is a great idea – just press when you need extra suction and release, the 40 minute of use time is accurate and the cylinder is easy to empty. If I were to be critical, it is a bit heavy if you’re older and top heavy as the cylinder is at the top of the handle. If you interrupt your cleaning for any reason you have to be careful to prop it up, as it won’t stand up on it’s own. It’s simple once you finish cleaning as it just folds down and is quite stable. Expensive, but worth it!

I have read the comments where guys compare shark with Dyson (for shark favour) , so I cannot add anything ’cause I’d never compared Dyson and shark. but I have to admit that everything attached to my shark is working well and looks in its place. some comments complains about the lights on a head, but I found it very helpful under the bed and in the dark corners. I gave five stars for suction power, lightweight and easy to use simply because I am now in the 21 century. technology is amazing. two batteries by 80 min each !!! 160 min it is enough to hoover apartment building. worth every penny

Happily comes with two batteries so if one runs out then you just plug in the other. The ‘bend’ feature works well for under-the-bed vacuuming. I had an initial shock as the Shark is heavier than the Dyson it replaced so two-handing vacuuming rather than one-handed works for me. So far, so good.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersThis is a good vacuum cleaner and seems to pick up the dirt that my old cabled machine missed. Good to bend under cabinets and beds etc. The second battery is a very good idea, as it extends the clean time to 80 minutes. More imprtantly, it is fairly lightweight and is “Male Friendly”. ….Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 85 From Our UsersFirst off, this was provided to me as a free unit to provide an honest review.

On unboxing the unit, it was bigger than I was expecting. This is more of an upright vacuum replacement than a portable cordless unit. That said, it isn’t overly large, and does fold in half which really aids storage. It is also surprisingly stable when folded.

Suction is good and it does pick up dirt and debris well, with settings for carpet, hard floors, and boost button. Without the boost button there is plenty of power.

The head unit is larger than expected but does come with a brush bar, lights (which are really useful for seeing the dirt and debris), and another roller designed to pick up hair and stop the main brush getting tangled. On the whole, this does work. I am normally having to stop and de-tangle hair as I go along, which so far with this unit, I haven’t had to do. There is still some hair in the main brush bar, but no where near as much as I expected based on other vacuums used.

The tube down to the Motrhead does fold in half. One reason is for storage, as mentioned. The other is to allow you to get under furniture, and this is a really good idea. Its much easier than having to bend right down to use the vacuum horizontally, and once you’ve tried this, you’ll wonder how you coped.

This comes with two batteries, which is a great feature. I use this as a second vacuum rather than the main one, and even after a number of uses, the first battery still has about 50% charge. Even if you don’t use it enough to require a second battery, it will come into its own a year or two down the line when the first battery doesn’t hold a full charge – it effectively lengthens the life of the product which is a real positive.

The downside of the unit being a little larger is when using the pointy tool to get cobwebs off the ceiling (I live in an old house and they appear overnight). It is a bit heavier to hold above head height.

The dust bin is a good size. It’s large enough to mean you don’t need to empty it every 5 minutes, but not too large as to make the vacuum too big.

Overall, this is a good vacuum. It isn’t cheap, but its similarly priced to its key competition, and does a good job. You will appreciate the anti tangle head if you have long hair that tends to fall out as mine does.

Recommended. A bit cheaper would get it 5 stars.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersShark are an excellent manufacturer. I have two other products made by them, a large hoover with attachments and a single head hoover which looks like an old fashioned Eubank if you remember them and they are both over two years old and are absolute demons.

This little imp is pretty much the same. It picks up like a dream. The small lightweight body is easy to manoeuvre and a delight to use. Coming with tools too is a nice touch and always good these days especially for overhead, crevice and stair cleaning.

This comes with two batteries so my multi level home is a doddle to keep clean as there’s always one battery fully charged and one in use.

It’s easy to empty, filters are easy to clean and it’s economical…..an all rounder five star baby….well almost. What I don’t like is it won’t stand on its own it’s top heavy so to store it folds over which is nifty but if you don’t make sure it’s secure and lent against something solid it’s easy to slip down or topple over….with something so expensive the last thing you want is for this to crash to the floor and crack, snap or break something.

Tools are a little cumbersome in use and not the most well thought out design…..very wieldy when in use.

Price wise it’s around the same price point as a G tech or a Dyson. All hoovers are a personal choice, we all like what we like and have a preference I prefer Shark to Dyson and G tech, I feel it offers the same power performance and tool design so it’s down to preference entirely. I like that it has a front light which makes cleaning in darker places a treat, it bends in the middle to enable you clean under things without throwing yourself around on the floor and the narrow head allows easier access into smaller spaces.

Would I recommend….yes I’m a girl that loves Shark I got rid of both my Dyson and my G Tech and replaced them with Shark. The only vacuum I have used which if I’m honest I preferred to this make is my Oreck but this needs insertable dispoable and expensive paper bags and is now very very old over ten years and doesn’t have tools so doesn’t really compare anymore.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersLess like a shark and more like a 1980s extra from Short Circuit, this vacuum is certainly cute, with its upright habit and brightly lit ‘eyes’ that make it easy to see into all those nooks and crannies. Full marks for this element of design, and for manoeuvrability, which sees the head pivoting and rotating and able to get into all sorts of places that other vacuums probably can’t reach. The flexible tube and bendy pole means that you can get right under furniture with it too if you’re used to an upright/stick then this might be revolutionary but all cylinder vacuums do this don’t they?

The suction power appears to be on a par with my old AEG — but one large advantage is the anti-wrap function on the main head which really does work. I have rather long hair and have often needed to sit with previous vacuums cutting it off the rollers with scissors. None of that here, which is amazing! The Shark is also happy to suck up on lots of different floor surfaces: I have wood, stone and carpet and it was equally at home on all three. It’s simple to switch between hard and carpet flooring modes, and there’s a turbo (for extra suction power) that works with either.

The vacuum comes with a set of interchangeable heads which are easy to attach and detach with the click of a button. The upholstery tool has done a good job on my velvet sofa and there are a number of other useful attachments. 2 batteries are supplied and should offer up to 80 minutes of running time — I don’t ever intend to test that out! A single battery proved adequate for a run over my entire house, so it seems unlikely if you’ve got a 2-bed semi that you’ll want for longevity of battery use. The batteries are easy to charge and, like the attachments, click simply into position. A tote bag is supplied to keep all these bits and pieces together.

The dust canister is quite small and requires more emptying that I’m used to with my AEG, but it’s not a huge issue. It’s easy enough to do and presumably helps to preserve the lightweight nature of the machine. On this, whilst it is not heavy, I did find that when switching to the handheld mode to do my sofa, it did end up being heavy after a while on my wrists and I found myself swapping hands. I also feel that the vacuum is a bit top heavy in upright mode and I find myself propping it up against a wall when I’m not using it but don’t want to fold it down.

More goods: it’s brilliant to be cordless; this is a huge plus. No more plugging and unplugging as you move about the house, upstairs and downstairs. Also, it folds neatly down in half and takes up a very small space in my under-stairs cupboard — another important point if you’re short on space.

Overall, this is a cute and versatile vacuum that can definitely be used as the main vacuum in your house. It’s not perfect, with a slightly-too-small dust compartment and can become a little heavy in handheld mode, but the plus points (cordless, simplicity of use, anti-hair-wrap, and space-saving design) do make it worth a look.

This is expensive, but you really do get what you pay for – cordless, extremely flexible, hand held, turbo mode, light, you get the idea
Comes with 2 batteries so you’re never left feeling flat – fast recharge time and each battery lasts for a good four hours
It stores in a small area and folds to fit under furniture
It has an effective power head with 2 headlights and converts to hand held with a number of tools – it is obviously even lighter in this mode and easy to carry around and manoeuvre into corners
Two settings for the head – carpet and hard floor – personally I’ve not felt the need for turbo, standard is more than adequate
    Excellent machine

This model appears to have been discontinued even though I was only sent it to review a few weeks ago. I shall therefore keep my review brief.

My only negative comment relates to the main brush tool. I have never known a vacuum cleaner that pulls itself along the carpet, until this one. This makes vacuuming in smaller areas a problem, and if you have a weak back (as my partner does), it can place more of a strain on it.

Aside from the above issue, this is an excellent machine. It cleans my carpets better than any previous handheld I have had, definitely approaching (or exceeding) mains upright quality. A comprehensive range of accessories is supplied. The high power trigger is very handy for shifting more embedded dust. Emptying the dust collection drum is easy.

I particularly like how the machine can fold over to be freestanding in storage.

The twin batteries are a nice touch. You can charge a single battery with or without the cradle, and charge two batteries in the cradle simultaneously.

Almost a perfect vacuum cleaner, if they could just find a way to stop it pulling you forward when you use it.

I love Shark. I have a corded Shark hoover which I have used for a couple of years and always loved it and been impressed by its performance so I was very excited to be offered this cordless one.
I am not disappointed! Being cordless makes it so much easier to move around a room and hoover under sofas and other furniture. I live in a three-storey house so it is great for carrying around all three floors.
I have a lot of stairs and dread hoovering them, but this makes it a lot easier – simply unclip the unit and off I go.
The suction power is brilliant, it doesn’t feel like it grips the carpet well as it glides across but it sucks up so much dirt!
The charge is good, plenty to hoover the whole house two or three times a week before needing more juice.
It is quite quiet as well which is always good.
I am very pleased and have already recommended this to friends and family.
    Shark are the best!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have a two bedroom end of terrace house and although it is a more spacious two bed, storing certain things can be awkward. After receiving the Shark IZ251UK i got everything out of the box and started putting things together and figuring out what is what. I have heard a lot of bad things about some cordless vacuums and i am happy to say none apply here.

First thing to do is charge the two batteries, it comes with a charging station so you can charge both batteries at the same time. You can also plug the charging lead directly into the vacuum if you need to, so far we have not needed to do this. Having two batteries is very useful. I have been able to vacuum my whole house on one battery but if you have a larger house you can change them and continue while the other battery charges. It can take a while for the battery to charge fully but it is usable before it’s fully charged.

I can also vacuum the whole of my downstairs before needing to empty the tank. It is easy to remove the waste tank, just press the eject button on the side and the tank will come out with no issues. Slide the lever on the side to open the tank and empty. To place the tank back make sure it clicks in properly, otherwise it will drop when you let go. You can also wash the tank to clean it, just remove the filters before hand and fully immerse in water.
The Shark comes with four attachments to help clean stairs or the car, sofa, etc, and a tote bag to keep them all in. You can detach the main head of the vacuum and use the long tube for edges, using the attachment would make it better but the suction is good enough for a quick once over. You can also take the long tube off and use it as a hand held vacuum, handy for doing the car or stairs, etc.

One feature that i do really love is the headlights, not only do they look amazing and cool, they actually serve a purpose when vacuuming under tables, beds and other dark places, you can see if you are about the suck something up. You can press the padlock button in the middle of the main tube and it collapses the hinge so you can reach right under a table or beds, etc. You can control it easily too, turning it around corners (I will upload a video which shows this), very handy if, like me, you have a very heavy bed which you cannot move to clean under properly.

The suction on the vacuum is very good, especially for a cordless, it will suck up leads so do not use the Shark to push leads out of the way. It has replaced my current upright vacuum cleaner it is that good, plus the fact that it folds up for easy storage (see pic). The vacuum head has a really good roller brush to help pick up hair and fibers and due to how convenient it is to just pick up and use, i find myself vacuuming more often. The Shark has two main speeds, one for carpet and one for hard floors which seems a little less power is being used. It also has a power trigger which gives you a blast of extra suction when you pull it up, for those stubborn fibers that do not want to let go. The main head automatically pulls the vacuum forward on the wheels, making it easier to move forwards and helping you concentrate more on directing it where you want it, rather than pushing it. However, and this is the only one of two down points i have found so far, it does mean when you pull it back it is harder. The other issue i found, is that it is quite heavy for a cordless, making your arm ache faster. Saying that, i have been half comparing this to a corded vacuum and if you are replacing a corded vacuum it is much lighter and easier to use than any i have known. So you need to balance that up with what you want to use it for.

Overall, i love this vacuum. It is handy, easy to store and a very well thought through design. It feels like a quality product, nothing is flimsy on it even the attachments are well made and good quality. I have a very hairy dog and this is cleaning up the hair really well. Good for cleaning awkward places and it has a good batty life. There are really not many down points at all, I highly recommend!

    Has replaced my corded vacuum

This Shark Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner [IZ251UK] Anti Hair Wrap with Twin Battery is a fantastic vacuum cleaner. It really is everything you could want in a vacuum cleaner. It’s well designed, easy to move around and glides effortlessly across my hardwood floors and area rugs with lots of suction power. This one comes with two batteries and its own separate battery charger, which is a great addition to have and adds to the running and usage time. I also really like the fact that it folds down when you want to store it away so that it takes up less space. This also comes with a handful of attachments, which come in great when using it in handheld mode for smaller jobs or when cleaning the stairs or my car interior. They also have their own bag so you can keep them tidy and stored away when not in use. I do find the main body of the hoover a little bit on the heavy side but I do have a medical condition which means that I have a weakened grip, so most people won’t find the weight a problem. Overall, I am very impressed with this vacuum cleaner.

  93. Product Reviews Net says:

This Shark device is a very good vacuum cleaner. It is fairly lightweight and fairly powerful – more than enough to get the job done. With the two-battery pack, you shouldn’t ever run out of power when you need to use it. We really like the power boost trigger for the spots that need a little extra power. At first, we wondered why the vacuum couldn’t just have the higher setting as an always-on option, but when you’re trying to prolong the battery usage, it makes sense. I think we’re now used to the idea that we don’t need megawatt power to clean effectively, so the efficiency is warranted.

The vacuum is fairly lightweight, but if you’re used to the portable Vax or Dyson options, you might find it slightly weightier. It’s really not *heavy* but you should try it out if you have any concerns.

A slightly retro, but very nice feature is the headlights on the vacuum head. These help you see any dirt better, and ensure it’s been picked up. A bit old school, but very useful.

The Shark comes with all the accessories you would expect, to get to those hard-to-reach places, and for upholstery. The folding wand is useful for getting under sofas and beds without having to get on your knees – very welcome. However, the only omission is that there is no telescopic wand. The wand it comes with is of fixed (albeit hinged) length, so to reach ceiling corners or for the stairs, you either have to go wand-less or use the fixed (quite long) wand. This is not a deal-breaker, but for a vacuum that is so well thought out, a telescopic wand would have made it perfect.

Unique to the Shark is the brush head which is meant to be tangle-proof. It’s far too early to tell if that’s accurate, but this is a big plus for us as that particular maintenance job is always a bore.

The vacuum is very easy to store and takes up very little space. Since getting it, we have given our old Vax rechargeable vacuum away. Although the Shark is quite pricey, it can quite happily be your only vacuum cleaner – it’s good enough to replace your main + rechargeable. Overall, it’s a very good device, with only one minor shortcoming to our minds. We are very happy with it.

This is very easy to set up and go, there is a charge in the battery on arrival, although its not fully charged. There is a good suction going on and found the room to be very well hoovered. There are some good attachments with the hoover, I particularly like the large flat brush which I used to clean my curtains and they came up lovely and clean and fresh, also used on my blinds which were building the dust I have to say but this wipes through them…….thats a real positive for this hoover. Downside however, the dust collection canister is quite small and I found that it needs emptying overtime I have used the hoover over the whole house and the performance does seem to go a little off when the canister is quite full. Positive is that with the 2 batteries I was able to hoover my whole house (3 bed semi and extension) and also clean bedroom curtains and blind. The fact that its completely portable and very lightweight is fabulous especially for doing the stairs. I would recommend, although is quite pricey.

Vacuum cleaners should be pretty difficult things to review, they either suck well or they…suck. But this is something different. The Shark is probably the best thought-out bit of kit I have ever used.
The first thing you notice is how small the individual parts are. You could fit most of this into a kitchen drawer. Everything clicks together satisfyingly and intuitively with the parts you are not using all fitting into a lovely, branded tote bag, which you can hang up. Two batteries are included and these can be charged separately in the included charger or when connected to the vacuum. A simple but really neat touch. Even the batteries LED indicators look like they’ve had care put into them.
The vacuum itself works brilliantly with none of the weaknesses usually seen in cordless cleaners. There are hard floor and carpet settings, plus a turbo trigger which can be activated on either. The vacuum can be used in pretty much everywhere, including flat under a sofa (reaching the very back) and as a small form car cleaner. Again, it’s all very simple but understated. The dust container clicks on and off very satisfyingly and unlike other vortex cleaners you can access every part of it. Even the headlights on the base are a step above – capable of lighting up a dark room. I guess if there’s one negative, it’s that the overall look of the cleaner looks a little cheap. It’s not horrible but it doesnt hint at the genius within. Shark are missing a trick here, a matt black ‘Stealth’ version would have techmad bloke buying this in spades AND scurrying around cleaning every corner of a house. Still, this is a brilliant, brilliant piece of kit.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersWell I have had lots of fun testing this Shark.

I have had a Shark before and loved it too but this model is my favourite ever vacuum and easily supersedes it’s predecessor.

It is a dream to use – as there are no cables to worry about you fly around the whole house in no time. There are 2 batteries so one is always on standby. I have a large house and managed it all in one charge.

The flexi elbow joint on the main stem allows easy access to awkward spaces. The joint is released easily by a button. Whilst storing you also flex the joint to make this Shatk very compact (see picture).

There is also a fair bit of rotation at the joint between the stem and the brush head (see picture) which enables skirtings etc to be reached with ease.

A very helpful feature is the headlights (see picture) which really shows up all the debris on the floors.

The functions are all very easy to use – a slider switch on the handle makes it simple to transition from hard floors to carpets. This switch is also the on/off function.

As my daughter and I both have long hair a common problem has been brushes getting clogged with hair. This Shark has a self cleaning guard which ameliorates this problem. I have included a picture of the brushes after a full house vacuum – not one wrapped hair!

The vacuum can be used with the full length stem or as a handheld which is great for the car etc.

The weight is higher on this model, I would say it is still fairly light but if you have arthritic wrists etc you would maybe struggle a little.

Tiny niggle – my previous Shark has a turbo floor brush which I used for the stairs this model does not come with one and I think I will miss it. There is a long nozzle which is good on the stairs but I preferred the previous one.

All in all I’m really impressed and happy with this vacuum, it is powerful, adaptable, easy to use and compact it is pricey but it is top of the range and literally the best vacuum I’ve used.

I cannot recommend this Shark highly enough.

Love, love, love this SHARK vacuum

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersAssembly was straightforward; as well as a quick start and a more detailed guide, the unit itself has a number of (detachable) yellow stickers with instructions on how to use it. Two battery packs are included, which means that one can be charging while you use the other one, so you’re never stuck waiting for a charge to finish. The charging unit allows you to charge both units at once, and the first time charge took approximately one hour to complete.

The unit comes with a good array of different attachments, making it easy to clean stairs, upholstery or tight corners. The main unit is very flexible and lightweight, and has a light attached, making it easy to clean under low surfaces (e.g. under a sofa). The cleaner folds down for compact storage, and also comes with a handy bag for keeping all of the attachments in one place).

Last (but definitely not least) I gave the unit a test run on a particularly dirty carpet with dust, cat hair etc. & some very dusty wooden stairs, and it did a really good job; suction power was good, and there’s a “suction boost” button for persistent stuff.

Overall I’m really pleased with this; the only downside is the price, but if you can tolerate that it’s an excellent product.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersLast year I got a corded upright Shark vacuum and I suddenly loved hoovering! I was amazed at how well it cleaned my carpets and just how well designed the vacuum was. I talked about it to everyone even convincing friends to buy one who all agreed.

I’ve been desperate for one the cordless ones with the anti hair wrap technology so was over the moon to receive this one. It’s a lovely purple colour and in true Shark fashion was so intuitive to set up. You receive two batteries with this vacuum including the charging station to sit them. They come half charged but the manual states to charge each battery fully then use it until it’s fully drained so ensure good battery life.

After setting it up I loved how it folds in half for each storage! You also receive a small shopper type bag which is handy for storing all the different attachments supplied with it.

The vacuum has two settings, one for hard floor and one for carpets. It only takes the quick flick of a switch on the handle to alternate between the two which is very handy for me as I have to switch between the two modes often in my house.

The auction is actually pretty good for a cordless! It doesn’t have that huge suction power that my Shark corded vacuum does but it’s still very good and it picked up very well. I love that it still has the little “headlights” at the front of the vacuum to see all the dust you’re picking up. It’s extremely responsive when manoeuvring about and it’s not too heavy at all.

It’s very easy to detach from the main vacuum head to an attachment one and I love that I can potter about the house hoovering the areas my cat goes such as window sils and tops of sofas. No need to worry about plugging and unplugging in various sockets! It also makes it incredibly easy to hoover stairs, I suffer with a herniated disc so often end up with an aching back after doing stairs but not with this!

After hoovering my house the bin was quite fun so it definitely has some decent suction. As a woman my vacuums always end up with so much hair wrapped about the brush so I was excited to see if the anti hair wrap had worked… and it had, mostly! There was one small amount of hair wrapped around the brush, but definitely nowhere near the amount that usually is. So whilst not 100% perfect it definitely seems to be working for most hairs!

Overall I love my new vacuum and it’s likely I won’t be using my old corded Shark vacuum as much now!

Shark is the only vacuum brand for me now!

This Shark vacuum was easy to put together without reading the instructions which is always a good thing. It’s quite substantial in size and a little heavier than a Dyson cordless. However it is easier to push around the carpets and it seems to be picking up everything. It comes with two batteries which have a good long life compared to most cordless vacuums. And of course the fact there are two means you should never be without power for it. It’s the nicest looking vac I’ve had too. It also has some useful features like being able to bend it to get underneath tables etc. There are three power settings, the third of which gives a boost when you press down a lever as you’re pushing. My carpets look fine now and I used one of the extensions to clean the inside of the door frame.
I’m hoping this lasts a long time because it’s looking like a very good product.
