As others have said, it’s a great vacuum. I too find it a bit too heavy and until I figured out how to connect it without the stick, I struggled in the staid also. Now I’m happy as a clam, glad I bought it!

Great for stairs, very light. Is much quieter than a normal vacuum which makes it worth it, by itself. I liked that you can pull the trigger to increase the power for tough spots.

Only real downside is that you really need to stay on top of the batteries. They drain fast. Recommend getting one of the 2 battery pack models, or buying an extra on the side.

OK, point 1, this was replacing a Dyson V7 animal, and it’s quite a lot heavier to use, or so it feels in the hand. That being said, to me it feels like the plastics are better quality than the V7, and it generally feels like an all-round higher quality product.
Point 2 is that, in this package, it doesn’t come with a stair tool/compact powerhead. This has turned out to be a bit of a disadvantage. The standard powered head is quite big and bulky, and makes cleaning the stairs or a car interior a bit of a challenge.
On the plus side, the general functionality is great. The pickup is very good (on a par with the old Kirbys – I used to sell them) and the runtime is quite long. We have a large-ish 3 bedroomed bungalow and it will cover this 5 or 6 times, plus the stairs and the attic conversion beofre the battery needs changing. There are 2 batteries and a charger, which is not as good as the charge point docking system, to me.
The “under the table folding tube” function is quite useful, as is the fact that it will stand up on its own. It does have a bit of a tendency to get involved with extraneous stuff on the floor though, because of the design of the head slippers and shoes tend to go go under the head rather than be pushed around by it, so if you don’t clear the floor properly before cleaning you’ll end up having to pull the kid’s crocs and slippers out of the head.
It is very prone to sucking up large objects and then getting blocked up – I’ve had to dismantle the head sooooooo many times to remove anything from plastic spoons to playing cards and even just small bits of paper. Anything too heavy to go up the tube will rattle about in the head making a horrible din until you take it apart and fish it out. The anti hair trap is a bit of a nightmare too, it can get so clogged with lint fibres that the the roller won’t go round any more, and it’s not immediately obvious why the cleaner isn’t really working until you take it to bits.
In short, the Shark is excellent, but….. you have to look after it. Every few weeks I take it apart and clean all the components and it runs fine, and cleans wonderfully.
I’m very pleased with it, it’s definitely a step up from the V7.

Very versatile – can reach most places – and easy to use. The optional extra kit of tools for car & home is very useful, with a flexible hose and small brushes etc that can reach into tiny crevices: also good for dusting intricate and/or delicate objects such as ornaments (I’ve used it on antique microscopes) & soft toys etc. Easy to empty the dust chamber without making a mess, and quite quiet in use despite its suction power.

I’m really happy with this purchase. Good suction power, its not too light but I don’t mind as I have small house so it doesn’t take me long to hoover. It doesn’t need much storage space. I love the antihair function, finally my hair are not stuck on the brush.

My dear wife sheds cheesewire. Long lustrous red killers of rotary bearings in carpet cleaners. A 2×2 meter patch of carpet would harbour enough lengths to wrap and strangle another 40 quid replacent in seconds.

Th shark is the hair-y nemesis! No more prebrushing and checking, just run the machine and, yes, it gets wrapped around the roller but the rubber fins prevent it getting tight and then the teeth chew the hair into tiny digestible pieces! Hahhahhahha-ha!

Any way, [cough] battery life is amazing – run it on boost all the time for 20-30 minutes and then swap out for the spare. It’s light, very manoeuvrable and robust. Good value, dust collection is a bit small but hey, it’s ok! It ain’t a deal breaker.

We bought this to replace a Dyson and it’s brilliany! Loads of suction power with a convenient “boost” trigger. The flexibility is great for getting under cupboards and sofas. There’s a good range of additional tools and it folds up for convenient storage.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThought long a hard about what new vacuum to purchase and settled on the Shark against various family members comments.
I love it. Much better than my old Dyson and better suction than my sisters G tech.
My only problem is my weak thumbs. I’ve broken and torn ligaments in both thumbs over the past few years (don’t ask) and find it rather Top Heavy as my father used to say to my mum. “It’s just the way your built love” lol
Or as my partner sez “your limp wristed”.
It really is a delight to use. Love the head that angles slightly and the bendy body to get down low without actually getting in your hands and knees.
Great set of attachments and I also purchased the pet hair head as I have a hairy dog. Makes short work of shifting his daily shedding.
As I said, the only down side is the weight of the actual top/motor. It’s heavy for a stick sadly and my pathetic wrists

What an amazing cleaner. Battery lasts a long time and most of all it is so so easy to empty the dust bin. For once, it is exactly the same as what you see in the TV adverts. Open the dust bin and it all falls out. No prodding or poking out clumps of dust and hair. Perfectly built and great accessories.

I was skeptic about it because I already have a regular hoover but when I tried it on my carpet I was amazed by the amount of dirt it removed from the floor. In order to make sure it was the hidden dirt I hovered the entire bedroom with a regular Henry and once done I went all over again with the Shark and OMG the amount of dust and hair trapped the dust box. It was literately full as if I haven’t cleaned the carpet for ages. I couldn’t be happier knowing that my flat is really clean now. It comes with two batteries and a charger that holds both battery charging at the same time and it’s got a suction cup underneath to not let the charger loosen. The hoover itself is heavy and not that comfortable to use whilst handheld to remove furniture dust but does not the job so brilliantly that I don’t really mind about it , however some people might really find that uncomfortable. Mind that. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone.

This is a great hoover but you really need the pet tool to be able to do stairs effectively. It is fabulous for our woodbw floors but less effective on the carpet. That said it does hoover our lightweight mat at the back of the house well. I would love for then to sell a wall bracket for all of their tools.like Dyson does. It would be so much better than the bag.

So I have used this shark vacuum the purple one with 2 batteries for around 2 months now before giving my honest review. I have a big house with 4 kids. I would definitely recommend 2 batteries as 1 is just not enough. I can get a full house cleaned (5 bedrooms) and all downstairs with 2 batteries. I use it for my car also quite frequently because of how efficient it is. Very easy to use. Very light. Even the kids are happy to clean their rooms. I used to get tired before with my old Dyson when doing a big clean but not anymore. I use the hand held version to clean after the kids throughout the day. This shark is a pleasure to use, my house is much cleaner. Very happy to recommend.

Brilliant device. I took over the rental of an apartment, which had been “thoroughly” cleaned. The shark picked up two full loads within minutes. I needed a folding vacuum to fit into an understairs cupboard. This fits the bill perfectly. Not only that, it’s a good vacuum cleaner. Always had Dyson previously for many years. A little heavy but you do get used to it. Great having twin batteries. They certainly hold their charge well.
I had to put buy an attachment for the stairs, which I’d have thought would have been included with the tools.

Upgraded to the anti hair wrap from the previous model, just as powerful but a lot quieter, seems lighter and easier to manoeuvre but not as well built as my last shark, battery life is better, anti hair wrap actually seems to work and is even easier to empty than my last one. Happy with the purchase.

Most of the time I consider adverts as lies. Or exaggeration. This product performs as advertised. I am a bit heavy handed so for me the attachments would not suit a professional cleaner but for any domestic use it will be fine.

    Very good quality feel.
    Clicks together nicely.
Folds away to a very small size and folds out to a full size vacuum.
Suction is good. Head could do with being heavier perhaps.
    Anti hair feature works perfectly.
Very easy to empty, easier than the other leading brand.
Head lights may seem a gimmick, but they really work helping you to see where dust is on hard floors.
Spare battery and double charger is a brilliant idea. You never need run out of charge.

Light weight and compact. Great suction power and low noise. Foldable for under furniture cleaning and storage. But the best is the long lasting battery life x 2 and large and easy to empty waste bin. By far the best cordless vacuum we have had. The Dyson and the Vax have taken a trip to the skip.

The Shark has been used in our fully carpeted flat. My wife has been shielding since last March 2020 and as a result her hair is longer than I’ve ever seen before. Unlike other machines the Shark is unaffected by her hair which has been widely distributed and takes it in its stride. It is convenient that it folds in half and is easily stored.
I have had to get used to the dust container always looking a mess. I can see why the manufacturer suggests washing it out after use but I cannot bring myself to do that every time I use the machine. Overall it is a very fine machine.

This vacuum cleaner only arrived today but I’m really impressed. I’ve mostly been a Dyson customer but have tried GTech and Miele since Dyson stopped making their easy-to-store upright model. I didn’t get on with either. But … the Shark is easy to assemble out of the box (I didn’t even look at the instructions), performs very well, and is way simpler than my Dyson to adapt into “tools” mode. The stick releases easily from the head and away you go. It’s really versatile. I love to flexi mode too, where you can vacuum under tables, sofas and beds. Some customers have mentioned it being heavy – there is certainly weight in the top part (as that’s where the motor and battery are) but it slides really effortlessly. In fact it feels like it’s moving by itself much of the time.
Canister is quite small so I had to empty it after doing four rooms (and we hoover every other day so it wasn’t super dirty) but it’s not really a problem to empty.
I’d go as far as saying it’s fun to use. So far really impressed.

I’m very pleased with the Shark cleaner. It is very easy to handle, to change from hard floor to carpet, and to give it an extra boost with Max Power. I also love the fact that I don’t have to continuously press or pull the power button, and the two headlights really lighten up the dust in darker corners. The bendy tube for cleaning under the bed/sofa etc is fantastic, as is the ease of emptying the waste drum. One batterie lasts me long enough for my house cleaning, but the convenience of having an alternative for longer jobs is great. Finally, to store it away, the Shark folds neatly together and uses less space than my old conventional vacuum.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a total revelation for me! I purchased this as my first ever cordless and I’m wondering why I didn’t convert before.

    Pros-
    * The manoeuvrability on this vacuum is phenomenal, twists and turns so easily!
    * Great suction, it seems to get up everything I’ve come across so far and more! Sucks up my partners sock fluff and my waist length hair easy peasy.
    * Battery life is great – I’ve been using this daily for 2 to 3 days and still loads of power left (2 up 2 down house). Great that you have a second back up.
    * Loads of attachments.
    * Easily detachable as a small handheld, use this function constantly.
    * Really easy and simple to use and empty.
    * Small and easily packed away in our cupboard.

    Cons-
    * It is pretty heavy although for me because it is cordless I can just easily swap hands but some may struggle.
    * Find the lights slightly pointless for me, could do without and save battery life?!
    * It doesn’t have a wall hanging function.
    * Slightly top heavy so won’t stand alone.

For me the pros far outweigh the cons and would definitely recommend it. Game changer for myself! Can just whip it round every day and stay on top of the vacuuming, GREAT!

Vastly preferable to expensive Dyson wireless stick cleaners. Battery life is awesome, by comparison – and the double battery variant is a world-leader. Powerful suction, pleasingly manoeuvrable and flexible. I love the fold down storage position, completely eliminating the toppling of the cleaner. The Shark has a reasonable capacity for dirt and dust and emptying is a doddle! Never again will I look at Dyson with envy!

Was sceptical about a new hoover as you can’t get a decent powerful one anymore. Boy was I wrong!
Purchased to replace our trusty “beast” which eats anything and everything… However us heavy and cumbersome for me to move.
Wow! We have 2 dogs and hoover every other day. Really impressed. I’ve uploaded a photo showing “a line” in the rug after hoovering half with the Shark. I can’t tell you how impressed we are with this cordless. Also love the headlight which points out dust and hair we had previously missed.
The bendy thing is great for hoovering under sideboards, armchairs etc.
I purchased the 80 min run time and it’s worth the extra money as there is a duel docking station for both batteries included.
Batteries take 3 hours for full charge.
    Hope this helps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bought to replace our trusty "beast" wouldn't look back now!

I was unsure whether to buy this vacuum or not. I’m so pleased that I did! Having a cordless vacuum has made my life so much easier. Having two children, and the mess that they make, The shark cordless has been so easy and efficient to use. It is lightweight and having the two batteries, means that one is always charged. The best purchase I have made this year by far!

I can’t believe it took me so long to get one of these. So light and manoeuvrable- makes hoovering so easy – taking it upstairs is a joy and the handheld part is a bit heavy for prolonged use but makes hoovering the stairs a breeze. Great suction and my carpets are getting cleaned by the day. We lost our dog to cancer 6 months ago but this is still getting hairs out of the carpet! Brilliant!

We purchased this to avoid hauling our existing hoover up to the 2nd floor and down again for cleaning and what a good move. We now find ourselves favouring the Shark for much of the house, especially for those impromptu needs! I can’t get over how light and easy it is to manoeuvre compared with the ball structure of other ‘heavyweights’. You need to keep an eye on the collecting bin though as it fills pretty quickly. I think ‘anti hair wrap’ is a bit of a misnomer though – it’s certainly not the case. So pleased we went for the twin battery, without which you’d be pushed to do half the house on full power and avoiding the need for charging! Finally, the full power trigger is a bit sore on the fingers; you just need to find a comfortable position. Overall a good buy and recommended.

Absolutely fantastic bit of kit, streets ahead of the various corded and cordless variants I’ve had over the years. Deals with hard and carpeted floors equally well. No more endless cleaning of filters or pulling hair from rollers. Looks good, easy to empty and to store, battery life great and with the twin battery model purchased, it’s always ready to go. I can’t recommend highly enough. Brilliant.

Slightly heavier than I thought but I have a weak wrist which is at times difficult to use but my husband loves using it. Very flexible and good suction and very easy to store because it can be folded in half which is brilliant. Hope there won’t be any weakness in the mechanisms but very happy so far and would recommend.

Easy to use. I am in my 80’s and it is not too heavy . I live in an old house and have some brick floors and some rooms have carpet. It is easy to change the suction as I go from room to room . It also lets me change quickly to a hand held cleaner to get the cobwebs down. I also took it out to clean the inside of my car . Marvellous.
So easy without having to constantly move the cord out of the way.

Excellent technology that stops my long hair from winding around the rollers. I have spent lots of money on other leading brands & this problem was an absolute nightmare. The Shark Cordless is brilliant, definitely worth the money. It has great suction so it picks up even the smallest particles on hard floors & doesn’t fling them around everywhere.

It has good power, easy to use, + it’s versatile. It’s also effectively self-powered if you can use it in a ‘lawn mower’ type action rather than ‘yard brush’ movement ie straight lines where possible rather than sweeping back & forth.

This is a fabulous cordless vacuum. Easy to assemble and clean. Picks up really well. Wish I had bought before now. Having two batteries is good as you are never waiting for it to charge so always ready to use. Great for the stairs which was one reason I bought it the other was the anti hair wrap however it does not stop hair wrapping around it’s just easier to remove than from plain brushes.
All in all we Love i

After 3 Dyson hoovers we thought give this a try it cleans better its quieter (our dog no longer attacks when hovering)and it seems to pull itself along plus having the 2 batteries is fantastic can now clean whole of the house instead of 2 goes at it very pleased it seems to be lifting grit etc out the carpet the Dyson left in it even the carpet pile feels cleane

This vacuum is so easy to use and transport around the house. It makes vacuuming a pleasure. It feels a bit flimsy but actually I think that’s just because it’s designed to move in multiple directions and get into nooks and crannies. My only criticism is the suction isn’t that great.

Although its a bit heavy it makes up for this with the performance – two batteries – can always have one fully charged to take over – life of each battery is superb. It is very quiet but its suction power is great and it also has lights so on a dark day you can see well what you are doing and make sure you pick up all the little bits – when not in use it folds over and it takes up a small floor space – would highly recommend.

Delighted with the efficiency of the Shark – had a Dyson before and in comparison it was absolutely useless with battery failing repeatedly. The Shark is a great vacuum with the only downside being it is heavy and difficult to manoeuvre when you need to raise it up- however the attachments are great and do help to make it more manageable. Overall no regrets in purchasing and it is a far better product than the Dyson.

We have tried Dyson, Vax and G tech. The Shark is far superior with its suction, hair slicer and lightweight handling. We like how the handle can be adjusted for cleaning under beds etc and how it folds down for easier storage, the battery life of both supplied batteries is ideal for purpose

great hoover, lightweight, easy to use, easy to store. my only issue which is quite a big issue is that the ‘amazing’ anti hair wrap technology is non exsistant. i still have to remove the guard from underneath the head and cut the hair from around the roll. ive contacted shark and they gave me some trouble shooting options and that hasnt realy worked either. id recommend shark but dont bother paying the extra money for the anti hair wrap system

My Wife and I are very happy with this product. We bought it just after Christmas.
There’s 3 items to clip together when taken out of the box. You get a charger and two battery packs, each lasting 40min (according to the manual). We never know, as it only ever takes us 30min to vacuum the whole house.
Unfortunately, If you have a 3 million (pound plus) mansion, you may require a 3rd battery pack!
We have a 3 bedroom house; and one battery pack is more than enough, but it’s nice to have a back up.
The power that comes from this unit is great, but here’s the test. Pick a room (with carpet if possible) and vacuum it using your old vacuum cleaner and then re-vacuum using the new unit and you will see the difference!
