How long should I leave my rolled mattress before sleeping on it?
You should unroll your rolled mattress on a bed in a warm room 24 hours before use. By placing it in a warm room, the mattress recovery time will be faster. You should not remove the cover until it has been left 24 hours.
Will my mattress smell?
It’s quite normal for new mattresses to have a slight odour when it is unpackaged, however it is nothing to worry about and by airing the mattress, you will find that any odours will pass.
How do I clean my mattress?
We always recommend using a mattress protector. You should not use detergents or chemical cleaners on your mattress as this may damage the fabric and stitching. Please do not remove the cover to clean the mattress, the cover is not removable.
Can I roll up the mattress for storage?
We use specialist equipment to roll a mattress in our factory. Please do not attempt to bend or re-roll your mattress yourself.

good firm normal foam mattress
I was looking for a normal foam mattress. I live as subtenant and therefore can’t “throw out” the soft spring mattress which is provided. I put it on top of the spring mattress. I’m happy with the result. It’s normal foam, gives good support, I sleep well on this mattress. Could be a bit harder for my needs but I found only medium soft as normal foam. It’s still pretty firm.
We bought this Silentnight mattress, along with a medium to soft mattress, same brand, after throwing out our ten year old mattress that I swear was stuffed with pebbles from some beach. We planned to put the medium mattress on the base, and the medium soft one on top of that. And it was very comfortable, except that with the medium to soft mattress on top we found ourselves constantly rolling toward the center of the bed.
We changed the method, and put the medium soft on the base, and the medium one on the top. It was absolutely a blissful night’s sleep. My great aunt, whom has arthritis at the base of her spine did the same, and with the same method of placement; it has eased her pain incredibly, and she’s now telling all and sundry about it. She was clearly pleased, and we are delighted for her sake. Thank you Silentnight!

Within 2 weeks our aches and pains brought on by the afore said mattress had gone. If only we had bought this one first.
Good value and very comfortable.
I bought this for my son and his girlfriend as their mattress was lumpy and they could feel the springs. My son said he woke up with no aches and pains after the first night! It’s definitely made a big difference for them. It was intended to be a temporary fix until they could afford a more expensive one. They are so pleased with it, they don’t feel they need a more expensive one now.
Great for the price
I bought this mattress even tho there weren’t too many raving reviews and it was in the middle when it came to how many stars it had. I can say I am super chuffed with it. Maybe my expectations were low as the mattress I was replacing wasn’t great. I have back problems so I love that it takes pressure off my shoulders and hips and could be a coincidence but I have been waking up less throughout the night. I think its really comfortable especially for side sleeping! I got the one that’s living memory as the mattress itself looked much thicker.
Overall really happy with my purchase. Have been using for about 3 weeks at this point.
Excellent mattress.
We brought it for our daughter and she’s loves it. It’s very comfy. It’s a little soft so if you prefer a hard mattress it wouldn’t be for you. But if you like to sink into a Mattress and feel like it is supporting your whole body this is for you.
Sturdy and comfortable
I needed a new mattress while moving houses and this one was perfect for the bed frame. It is hard and sturdy and goes well with my memory foam pillows. I have the habit of eating in bed while watching tv series and I love that no matter how much I move my drink won’t spill.
It arrived as expected and I also left it to sit on the bed for three days before sleeping on it. It is comfortable and you get used to sleeping on it quite quickly, but I wished it was a bit thicker considering the price. Overall, I would recommend it.
Very firm mattress
I didn’t realize this would be so FIRM! Had to buy a mattress topper for a little softness. It’s a solid product that, for example, if sat upon while watching TV in your bedroom for hours will resume its shape within 60 seconds of you getting up, so in that respect it’s a very good mattress. But it’s one for firm mattress lovers only!

Silentnight Easy Living Comfort Rolled Foam Mattress
This sort of mattress where it’s made of some type of foam and it comes rolled up in a bag seems to be the ‘in’ thing at the moment. There a lot of different types available, most of them with some friendly sounding name or another. I was looking forward to trying one out to see what they were like, so I took the chance on this one when it came along.
It arrived pretty much as expected, rolled up in plastic and inside a cardboard box, and was in good nick. When I got it out of the bag it unrolled pretty much as advertised, and I had no issues with shape or anything. There is a slight chemical smell from it, but it will fade relatively quickly, and putting a sheet on will block it out. In terms of comfort, it’s a little on the firmer side, which I like, but some people may not. I’ve been sleeping on it for several months now with no problems, and I haven’t felt the need to put a topper on it like I have with previous mattresses. There is a slight issue I’ve had where when I wake up the mattress has sunk somewhat towards the head end, but it seems to recover its shape through the day, so I’m not too bothered by it.
I’m sure that one of the memory foam ones is probably more comfy, but this one is still pretty comfy for the price.
Nice mattress
It came rolled into quite small packet which was great as it didn’t take too much space. It was also very easy to take it down to our bedroom.
We left it for the whole day to make it get to its shape and were able to sleep on it at night.
It is nice and comfortable mattress, however I prefer thicker mattresses.

Most comfortable
A very supportive and comfortable mattress for a spare single bed. Very comfortable for side-sleepers with enough hip support for a really good nights sleep. Smells “new” for a couple of nights, but certainly not overpowering. A lovely item.

This is an excellent mattress came in as rolled in a bag and was easy to set up. after few hours of relaxing in open it was easy to use and is an excellent for a good nights sleep.
Its a memory foam and also temperature is regulated so it doesn’t feel too hot inside even when you are inside a quilt , so my nights are very comfortable since I got this. and it is perfect in size for a double bed. So definitely recommended.
Good comfy mattress
I was amazed at this mattress. It arrived with nice package. When I opened it, the mattress was still sealed inside the plastic bag and immediately floated back to the normal size. It fits my double bed perfectly. Soft and comfy memory support. No wonder people are into good brand. Silent night is definitely a good and trustworthy brand.
Comfortable
Loving this mattress so far. Silentnight memory foam mattress far exceeded my expectations. It’s my first memory foam mattress so takes getting used to, but really comfy and a lot lighter than my old sprung mattress. It’s soft enough in places where it needs to be, but firm enough, with comfortable support for both my partner and myself. For me it is very very comfortable. If you are used to foam mattress, you should love this. Mattress is very good quality.
A Good Night's Sleep!
When I was a small person, we used to have these packs of tiny little paper balls which, when you added water, would blossom into lovely paper flowers. This mattress irresistibly reminded me of those. It arrived in a small bag a bit over a meter tall (I think) and rolled up in a snail-tight spiral. It looked much too small to be a double mattress. But, once freed from its restraints, it swelled, filled and plumped itself up to perfect double-bed size.
To begin with, I found that it seemed to squash down a little overnight in the place where I slept, but looking back I wonder if that was more that I was not used to a pure memory foam mattress because it has a different feel to the more traditional kind. But if you have not slept on one before do allow yourself to find it a little different. Not at all uncomfortable, just different.
So a couple of weeks on what can I say?
The manufacture quality of this mattress is excellent. It is a very comfortable mattress and I have been sleeping really well on it. The doubts I had around it being pure memory foam with no pocket springs have not materialised and I am very happy with it indeed.
This mattress arrived on a rainy day, but rest assured the packaging was excellent. The original mattress was nicely sealed in a bag, and than there was an outer bag protecting it. I was so surprised how small it is when it arrived, and was impressed with how a mattress can be rolled in such a way! This is brilliant for storage and transporting for those that were not going to use it straight away. As I had limited space I had to make room for it before opening it up so this worked well for being able to leave it in the corner of the room.
I got the double, and inside the packaging looked like the width of a single bed. Once opened, it will expand back to the size of a normal double. After about 8 hours it had already expanded to double size, but I left it for about 36 hours as i just wanted to be sure.
I have been using a hard mattress for years and recently started to get lower back pain when I wake up, so hard mattresses no longer works for me.
I have been using this mattress for over two weeks, it does take some getting used to memory foam. I initially found it difficult to get off the bed because your body sink and mould into the mattress. After a a few days, I have started to get used to it and most importantly I don’t get the lower back pain when I wake up anymore.
This mattress has excellent support. The foam changes shape to fit the contour of your body, and so you feel the gentle hug. When I rest my back on the mattress, I could feel the warmth on my back, because there is no air gap. This is perfect for cold winter months. The mattress is exactly as described on their page, the 7-zone is supposed to provide support and pressure relief across core zones from head-to-toe. I don’t know how, but I now wake up with no more pain. I love it and there’s no going back to my much loved hard mattress.
Overall, an excellent mattress from a trusted brand. I highly recommend this, as I am getting very restful sleep from it.
159.99 for a foam (not memory foam) mattress – double, is a very competitive price given the brand and the quality. Very comfortable to sleep in, although not quite as nice as memory foam. The firmness of the mattress feels supportive and good for sleeping in.
Mattress thickness is OK, but a little thicker would feel better, hence deducted a star.
The mattress quality is very nice, whether sleeping on or to the touch, you can feel that it’s high quality.
A few things to note. One is that it comes rolled, and once rolled out, you have to leave it for a while before sleeping on it for the best results. Another is that once rolled out, you can’t roll it up again, so make sure you roll it out where you want to place it to avoid the hassle of moving it around.
I’m very happy with the overall quality of this mattress. We spend a lot of time sleeping in bed, so it’s important to get a good mattress, and this is it, so I would recommend this. For those looking for a touch softer, then I would suggest memory foam, but for those looking for a bit more firmness, then this is great.
Brilliant and Very Comfortable.
I absolutely love this mattress. It came in a relatively small rolled-up package that was easy to hold and carry to the bedroom. I opened it up, unwrapped it and allowed it to breath for a few days so it could expand to its proper size.
When I put it on the bed I was amazed at how comfortable it is and it really felt great.
I’ve been sleeping on it for a couple of weeks now and I’m still very impressed! Excellent choice!

Silent night are a great brand for a mattress. This shows in the quality of the mattress.
It is very soft to the touch and is made well. When it is first received it is very compact and rolled so it is easy to carry up the stairs. Once opened I was worried that it wasn’t going to be big enough to be a full mattress and more of a mattress topper, how wrong I was. It plumped up nicely and provided a good support for my back.
It isn’t as thick as some mattresses but does the job perfectly without the need to be thicker.

Good quality and inexpensive
Memory foam mattresses like this work well and provide good support. It comes rolled up which makes transporting it where you want it easier although beware, it is very heavy! I wouldn’t like to have to move it once it’s all unwrapped. My only issue with these mattresses really is that they are rather thin depth-wise and thus fitted bottom sheets don’t fit too well, instead they bunch up a bit. But this is a minor issue really..
Softer than a marshmallow... definitely not medium firm
A mixed review as although this mattress was most things advertised it purely wasnt for me and definitely didn’t do my back any good.
Quality of mattress was excellent in terms of material, double size was true and ‘memory’ function was great although it was just far too soft and spread out around edges. Would best suit a set in bedframe where mattress would be contained rather than just ontop.
A little disappointed as although i know memory foam is a softer material, this is advertised as medium firm which i feel is the selling point of this type of purchase.

A good quality memory-foam mattress for the price of a sprung one
We ordered this Easy Living Plus memory-foam mattress by Silentnight as a replacement for one of the Company’s Miracoil 7 mattresses which was the best part of ten years old. Our old sprung mattress had given us many years of good service but was beginning to show it’s age — the foam mattress offers a different level of support which took a bit of getting used to. The mattress arrives rolled and compressed in a relatively small package making it easier to transport and manoeuvre once indoors — it can be carried upstairs easily by one person. Out of the packing the mattress expands to it’s full size making you wonder how it actually fitted in there — but it can take a couple of days to expand fully. This mattress can be used with most types of standard bedframe, and is available in three sizes on the same Amazon product page. We have the standard double, measuring 135cm by 190cm which is 20cm thick, and currently around two hundred and seventy pounds from Amazon — a single and a king size are also available. The Easy Living Plus is a decent medium-comfort mattress at the price but if you have not slept on a memory-foam mattress before you might need to allow up to thirty days to let your body adjust to the experience. Superb Quality, Comfortable, East to set up, Highly Recommended
When I saw this mattress available on the Vine Program I just knew I had to order it for my eldest adult daughter whose previous mattress was ready for replacement. She has helped me to compile this review by giving her full input and insights having now used the mattress for a number of days.
The mattress itself arrives in a giant plastic bag and within this the mattress is inside another bag and shrink wrapped in plastic packaging and rolled up extremely tightly. There is also a full colour booklet about the mattress and Silentnight.
After reading the instructions we very carefully opened the mattress and unrolled it and then led it on top of the bed in the warm bedroom for it to reshape itself fully as per the instructions.
A few hours later it was amazing how much the mattress had ‘grown’ and it now looked like a mattress rather than the flat pancake it had begun as! It does suggest to leave the mattress for 24-48 hours to allow it to breathe, however this was not possible in our case as we just didn’t have any room to leave it to sit and do this as we needed it on the bed, so having left it for most of the day we then remade the bed so that my daughter could get some sleep.
The mattress itself has a foam core that offers fabulous support to help improve spinal alignment and posture, as well as a medium comfort support system that cocoons the body from head to toe and enables you to have a comfortable and supportive nights sleep. The support covers the entire mattress including right to the very edge, thus giving you extra sleeping space.
The soft knit cover of the mattress has hypoallergenic properties which ensures that the actual mattress is both bacteria free and dust mite free thereby giving a much more hygeicenic and cleaner sleeping environment
My daughter found that for the first 2 night nights of using the mattress that she woke feeling stiff and uncomfortable, however as the days have gone by she is now getting a good nights sleep and definitely feeling all of the benefits of the new mattress.
Overall this mattress does everything that it says that it does plus gives a good nights sleep and both my daughter and myself are happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a new mattress.

Good mattress for youngsters and people of slim build, works well a a mattress toppe
The mattress comes well packaged and needs 24 hours when opened to fully expand. When used on its own seems good for use on childrens bed or with someone of slim build. It felt good for me teenager but for me as a heavier person didn’t feel thick enough somehow and give good overall support. When placed on top of an existing mattress this has worked well for me providing good support (but then need deeper fitting sheets).
Nice quality memory foam mattress at budget price
The mattress is conveniently rolled up for transport and to take this upstairs and put into the bedroom where this is to be used. Quite heavy note this is 19 kilos so might take 2 x people to get this around the house. Once rolled out and left for 24 hours its ready for usage. The has replaced one that was in a spare bedroom that our grand-children or ill adult might use for peace and quite while recovering. I am used to a hard type finish mattress but am quite happy on medium mattress as well. I slept on this mattress over 2 x nights, the 2nd night was better than the first, getting used to the style and finish of that mattress. I slept well whilst on this mattress pleased with the support this offers, it would comfortably mould to contours of your body and support as required. I like the feel and the temperature that the bed and how this made me feel for a nice comfortable sleep. I found that whilst sleeping on this bed that I slept well and have positive feedback on this mattress. Combined with good mattress sheet and top sheet with descent pillows this can make the difference in sleep value. If looking for a budget type mattress this would be very suitable for sleeping on.
Good comfortable memory foam mattress
Usually, I go for a firmer mattress. But I thought I would give it a go. And I am so glad I did. soft comfortable, but still firm enough.I am sleeping much better, without tossing and turning and more importantly, my knees are supported.
What a difference this mattress makes – it’s unbelievable!! I now sleep right through the night and wake up feeling refreshed and ready for the day.
Compared to similar mattresses it is also relatively cheap making it very good value for money! This mattress is definitely worth a try if you’re looking for a very comfortable, well built mattress on a low budget.I am 6 ft tall and it fits me really well without too much overhang.

High-quality mattress.
A high-quality mattress with a thickness of 16 cm-17 cm. The inside is a foam memory mattress. Because of its thick thickness, the entire mattress is not soft, but it is also not very hard. The outside of the mattress has a knitted shell, which is comfortable and soft to the touch, with a lattice pattern, and the mattress is wrapped with a zipper. The fine workmanship is perfect.
The mattress was rolled up when I received it, and it didn’t even take 24 hours. I lay on it to rest after 5 hours.
The mattress has no peculiar smell, or a little peculiar smell is wrapped in the sheets, but I did not smell it.
Silentnight are a long established UK company hand-making beds for over 70 years, this Easy Living Comfort Foam mattress looks very well made, the cover is soft and fits well, inside there’s a soft knitted top layer, followed by a medium to soft foam inner. It fits my standard double bed frame perfectly. It arrived rolled and shrink wrapped from the factory, making it very easy to carry upstairs, once the wrapping was opened it soon thickened up to its true size. There’s a slight odour but hardly anything noticeable. Give it a few hours uncovered to let it fully form its shape before lying on it. Both my hubby and I have been sleeping on it for a few nights now, our old mattress is a thicker sprung one, but we are both surprised and delighted by how comfortable this Silentnight foam one is, it feels soft and luxurious and it supports us too. Neither of us are lightweight, yet I love how it moulds to my shape, either on my back or side, it’s a pleasure to sleep on. I was initially concerned a foam mattress might be a bit warm for me as a woman who gets hot flushes, but honestly I’ve slept so well I haven’t had so many hot night flushes since, which is an unexpected bonus. Silentnight recommend turning the mattress from top to toe regularly for an even wear, as the mattress is foam it’s much easier to do than spring mattresses so I can do this on my own easily. This mattress comes with a 3 year guarantee, which is good for a mattress at this price range, I am genuinely impressed by it and therefore more than happy to recommend to you too. amazing mattress
This mattress arrived so tightly wrapped and well packaged I was wondering how good it would be once unpacked but it’s amazing, the tightly rolled and bagged packing made it easy to get upstairs and into my spare room, then once I opened it up you could watch it expand and within about an hour it was full sized and looked like any normal mattress, I gave it overnight to be sure and then decided to give it a go, it was on my spare bed so its sitting on just a basic wooden frame but it was still so soft and comfortable, its firm when you first lie down but as it moulds to your body you get a very good well supported night’s sleep.
Overall, Its amazing and I absolutely love it and will now be getting a king sized one for my main bed.
As it comes in rolled, moving the mattress around and getting it up the stairs is far easier than one that arrives flat. The top layer is a zipped cover that feels like a jersey knit and not a cheap covering that some have. Even before it had completely puffed up, I couldn’t resist pushing my hand into it and having a quick lie down. My gosh, it felt heavenly and like a cloud. When I first laid it flat, the mattress was about half the height of the cover’s height. In less than 12 hours it had completely puffed up to fill that. When lying on it, the mattress feels like it hugs my curves and is kind to my body.
Fitting sheets to the mattress and tucking the duvet under was easy. It’s incredibly lightweight and has made life easier, even bringing me to tears as it made such a difference to my old orthopaedic mattress. The only problem I did have with the mattress was that if I sat too close to the edge, the mattress would collapse all the way down so that I was sitting on the wooden bed frame. It could do with being reinforced around the edges. Overall, a lovely mattress that has eased in my stiff back a bit in the mornings and I would recommend it to others.
Game changer compared to pocket spring mattress
This is a foam mattress with a memory foam layer on the top. In terms of firmness, this is rated at medium. It arrived in a compressed vacuumed roll up bag. Very compact, similar to my Eve mattress experience. It took about another 6 hours to return to its factory mattress depth and for the foam to return to normal state. The recommendation was to wait for 24hours.
Things I liked:
* 20 cm depth of sheer comfort (thickness)
* good support during sleep
Things I disliked:
* strange “chemical” odour ( I did notice after 3days, the odour was no longer noticable)
* medium firmness (personally, I found it closer as medium-soft than medium-firm)
Overall, this memory foam mattress is much better than my old coil pocket sprung mattress but not as good as the Eve mattress (which is medium-firm).
First memory foam mattress - impressed so far.
Always been a bit skeptical of rolled up mattresses but first impression of this from Silentnight is very positive.
This was a double mattress & arrived tightly rolled and vacuum packed. The package about as big as the distance from the floor to a typical door handle.
Take it to the room you are going to use it in as once you unwrap it it does expand quickly.
Sizes immediately unwrapped on this one were 194 long x 136 wide x 14cm thick.
Leaving the mattress for about 6 hrs & it expanded already to almost 20cm.
The info that arrived with it says leave up to 24hrs to fully expand.
Just lying on it after a short time you immediately feel cossetted by the memory foam sinking in slightly.
I cannot yet comment on longevity – you only rotate these mattresses not turn them as the memory foam is only on one side.
I’d also suggest getting a mattress protector as the cover is stated as non removable (although it has a zip) – I dont think theres anyway anyone would get the insides back in…
First memory foam mattress & really looking forward to this & will try to update after a few weeks / months how well it lasts – so only 4* for now.

Best night sleep guaranteed!
This mattress comes rolled in tightly is lots of plastic, this made transporting it around my house easy and also kept the mattress clean and untouched by any dirt during its transportation.
It is still heavy but I was able to manage it alone by just going slowly and carefully as I positioned it in my bed and cut away the plastic to let the mattress lie flat on the bed frame, your then advises to leave it to settle for 24hrs.
Be careful when cutting away the plastic as there is several layers and would be easy to get carried away and cut through the plastic and damage the mattress beneath.
There was a noticeable chemical smell, this is normal with these types of mattresses and the smell had disappeared by the next day.
I was immediately stuck by how thick the mattress is, with it coming rolled it wasn’t expecting it to be as big as it was but it really does puff out.
My first night in it was heaven, I’ve never slept on a memory foam before and I can see I’ve been missing out on some great quality sleep.
It’s the right balance between soft and hard, you feel supported and cushioned at the same time.
For a very long now now I’ve been waking up with aches and pains in my shoulder and back, I just assumed it was my pillow but I don’t adjust to new pillows very easily so I’ve just learnt to live with it.
After only one night on this mattress I noticed I was feeling a lot looser and less achy then normal, and a few days even further on they are entirely gone!
So it was my mattress causing me all these problems this whole time.
By far the best mattress I’ve ever slept on, I won’t look back now it’s memory foam mattresses all the way for me.

Soooo comfy
So so comfy, best nights sleep I’ve had when I put this mattress on the bed.
The mattress I currently owned was at least eight years old, and it still had springs in it. I had long sought a replacement, and I was desperate to try a full memory foam mattress, and not just a topper. When I got the opportunity to test this silent night mattress, I was over the moon and couldn’t wait to receive it. The mattress arrived rolled up tightly in a bag, and I wondered how on earth a double mattress was going to come out of it… but it did. I opened the bag, and within moments the mattress began to inflate. Within a few hours it was fully up and very spongy to touch. This mattress is superb quality, and feels very premium. it has been made to the highest possible standards, and I would have expected nothing less from silent night. It fits my bed perfectly, and it’s the same dimensions as my old one so all my bed sheets fit. The mattress is thick and very comfortable. It is firmer than my old one, but over time I’m sure it will mould itself to my form. It is ergonomic and keeps my spine straight, and although my pillows felt very low, I had the best nights sleep I’ve had in years. The memory foam is very comfortable, and the lack of springs means there’s no clunking and boinging when I get in an out and no uncomfortable coils digging into my hips. I highly recommend this mattress. it is one of the best I have ever owned. 5*
