Love these curtains, great value for money. I was a little sceptical after reading the mixed reviews about not being blackout but I think they’re great and do block out ligh
Privacy with style...
I chose the Charcoal version of these Sleepdown Woven Tonal Fleck Blackout Curtains and it’s a really attractive colour, neither too dark or too pale, and they look quite stylish once hung. The fabric is thinner than you might expect for something called a blackout curtain but it’s also soft to the touch and doesn’t hold onto creases too much. That’s lucky because they arrive tightly folded up and the care instructions tell you not to iron them. I did have to steam them in place with an iron held upright to encourage the packing creases to smooth out, but it wasn’t too much of an ordeal and definitely worth the time and effort. Both curtain and lining are 100% Polyester and they have a ‘Keep Away from Fire’ warning on the label, which might make you consider where to use them. They’re also washable in a 30C cycle.
The outsized eyelets (internal diameter of 40mm) look good and seem to be securely attached to the curtain and so installation is really easy, assuming your curtain pole’s already in position. As mentioned the main fabric is very lightweight but it looks more substantial than it feels and although the fleck texture is quite small and fairly evenly coloured it gives them a stylish look. The back of the main fabric is coated with a flexible black coating which creates the blackout feature and also prevents anyone outside seeing through the curtain. The total privacy they offer might be more important than the blackout feature to many people, it obviously makes them perfect for bedroom use. You never really see the black coating because there’s a separate lining on the rear of the curtain and that’s pure white, even on our Charcoal curtains.
All the seams and finishing seems pretty good, the sewing is straight and there are few loose threads to tidy up. It’s really useful to get such a big curtain that offers full privacy but is also quite lightweight because they won’t need a particularly heavyweight curtain pole to hang them and you should be able to use something simple that suits the tailored minimal style of the curtain. Quick and easy solution to a bare window and very decent value for money.
Beautiful Blackout Curtai
These curtains are really beautiful and of high quality. The fabric has a beautiful navy blue colour and is thick which really helps reduce the light in the room. I think this is one of the best blackout curtains I had.
The eyelets at the top are made well with metal rings. Hence, it is easy to slide these curtains on a rod – easy to open or close.
There are no visible flaws in stitching or material itself signalling high-quality manufacturing.
Probably one of the best features of these curtains is machine-washable fabric quality. It is a really big advantage for me because I can wash them at the convenience of my own home and as often as I like.

Looks nice
Nice blackout curtains. It makes the room quite dark even during the day. Perfect if you want to take a rest during the day.
The material is quite thin. I expected it to be thicker.
These are a nice quality set of curtains, that provide full blackout. The curtains are nicely made with straight hems that hang nicely straight when up. The inside of the curtain, the other side of the outer fabric has been coated with a black ‘eco film’ to give the black-out effect, and it works very effectively. The eyelet ring top design is nicely done and very easy to fit on the rail to hang, no faffing about with gathering and head tape strings.
My only small niggle is that the curtain fabric feels a bit odd to the touch and more lightweight than I expected for a woven curtain, and perhaps that’s to do with the black-out substance that’s applied to the back of the curtain fabric and that they are made from polyester. However despite that it doesn’t effect the overall look of the curtains, or how it hangs, and they look very nice in situ and look more expensive than they are.
All in all these are nice curtains which are fairly priced for the 66 x 90 size at 53.62. It would certainly cost a lot more to have them made at that size. The natural oatmeal colour is a nice neutral pallet and would go with most types of decor, whether traditional or modern. Overall, good set of curtains and fabulous that thy can be washed in the machine. Four stars from me.
Effective and stylish
Really lovely thick fabric curtains with a subtle textured effect that really makes these look high quality. They block out almost 100% of the light and are great for my sunlight flooded east facing bedroom. Effective and stylish overall.

These curtains are a dream come true but for one point. The outer layer (the curtain itself) has something black thermally applied to it and I am concerned about the emissions this substance will produce when exposed to proper summer sun and heat. The curtain fabric is 100% polyester so this is just 1% in off-gassing, the black layer applied to the curtain – I am not quite sure.
As per the curtains themselves – these are excellent.
+ They do appear darker than the name and the photos suggest but it is a lovely colour anyway, fits in with any interior really.
+ They are so lightweight! I was worried that having gone for a wider curtain than usual I willend up overloading the rod, needn’t have worried – these curtains are lighter in weight than the narrower black-outs we had before. These feel superb and fold so nicely.
+ They look grand! They appear more expensive than what you pay for them and they are made very well. They slide on the rod easily and are smooth but not silky. The way you can tie them back makes them look lush and it’s you who chooses at what angle you want to keep that tie-back, not the heaviness of the curtain.
+ They appear to be easy-care. I am certain they will take a very short time to dry and I don’t think they will require ironing.
I like them so much I would be happy to buy a second pair.
Good quality
A decent woven curtain that keeps out the light. These curtains we ordered were for a small window and they work well at keeping the room dark. I have not noticed any difference to the temperature of the room since fitting so I can not comment on the thermal qualities of these curtains, our house is very well insulated though so I guess I can’t really give a fair rating for that part of the design.
Decent curtain but make sure you get the right size.

You have yo have sturdy wall and to fit the rod good because these are very heavy and won’t hold them easy.
You have different sizes to choose from , and suit your needs.

I usually buy my curtains from Next as I like the quality but these are just as good! I’ve got them in my bedroom and they fit perfectly. The blackout lining works brilliantly-too well to be fair as over the Christmas holidays we weren’t waking up till very late not realising that it was much later than the light in our room suggested. They needed a bit of a press and they were folded up when arrived but I have to say that these curtains are worth every penny! Highly recommended!
Curtains
Woven Tonal Fleck eyelit curtains. I love this style of hanging curtains and they simply go directly onto the pole, no hassle or manually threading onto the curtains. These look absolutely stunning and are really thick which keeps the warmth in the room too! They like mentioned earlier took minimal effort to install and then I just went over them with my clothes steamer to remove the folded lines from packaging. The sizing is accurate and the manufacturer has plenty to choose from too! Made from a very well known manufacturer and overall I think the price reflects the quality. Very pleased 🙂
Perfect - 100% Recommend
Have always been very impressed with Sleepdown bedding/duvets etc but wasn’t sure what to expect with these as they’re pretty cheap for thicker curtains of this size and didn’t know Sleepdown did curtains too but the quality is incredibly good, lovely material and they look great in this shade too. Stop the light coming through perfectly when drawn so am super happy with them so would definitely recommend at this price.

I live on a mian road and always find the traffic noise annoying, i never realised until now these insulated curtains work extremely well to deaden the sounds.. i would never have beleived it but they definitely work and i would 100% recommend.
Great blackout curtains
I wouldn’t say these are total blackout curtains but they block out 99% of the light I think mainly due to the backing, really good for our 5-year-olds room as he needs blackout curtains so these are perfect for him, they are good quality and the eyelets all seem strong and well done, 5 stars from me.
They’re very strong, effective, and stylish. The eyelets at the top make them easy to roll onto my curtain rods. The eyelets are robustly made without any inconsistencies or sharp edges. The fabric is gorgeous – very high quality, thick and the colour is deep and saturated. The fabric has a lovely subtle sheen to it adding to its luxurious look and feel.
The curtains surprisingly don’t crease easily, so I didn’t need to iron them before setting them up because they were perfectly flat straight out of the box.
They are so effective at blocking out heat and sun. The thermal material also prevents any drafts or heat transfer from around the window, which is great for a drafty window or a window in a chilly room. This should also help with lowering energy costs in warming a room during winter months.
I’ve machine washed them to test their durability and they came out perfectly intact. No shrinkage, colour fading, or piling.
Great value for money and looks set to last a very long good while.
We were looking for a curtain to keep a draughty entrance warmer. It is perfect for our front door and makes such a difference to the warmth.
Absolutely gorgeous curtains! I have them in my lounge and 2 bedrooms. Perfectly keeps out light and cold/heat depending on the time of year. The length is exactly what I needed and the colour fits in so well with my colour schemes in each room when open or closed

These replaced a pair of NEXT curtains that were a bit too short width wise. These are perfect. I’ve split them to cover two windows in a bedroom and they look great. So easy to fit as they are eyelets and there is width enough to wrap one over one of the end finals so they stay in place when closed.
The fabric is quite soft and nice to touch – it’s not that thick but it looks thick. The lining is black out, but not completely as light will come from below and above as it can’t sit flush against the wall.
The whole curtain is overall good though. Nice colour and look to them.
Smart Black Out Curtains
The Sleepdown Woven Tonal Fleck eyelet blackout curtains are very smart and easy to look through my curtain pole.
They fit the width of my living room window but ideally I need to get a longer drop next time.
These curtains are so good at blocking out the light , I am nine floors up so my living room gets very sunny in the summer so these are great

Good black out curtains
These curtains come very neatly packaged and are very easy to put up.
They really are black out curtains, which is exactly what I was looking for. They are reasonably priced too (42.99 for 66″ x 59″ at time of review).
I’ve knocked a star off as they don’t feel like the best quality and have a few loose threads but overall they do the job and look smart.
Thin Material
Good:
a) Block light well (pic taken brightest time of day).
b) Decent finish to stitching etc for the price.
b) Look good from afar.
c) Nice pale oatmeal colour.
Not So Good:
a) thin curtain material with black bonded plastic-feeling backing (see pic) which crackles when you move the curtains
b) very thin see-through polyester separate liner – creates lots of static.
c) Nightmare to iron out the creases created from packing as there is so much static build up as you iron and I was constantly having to drag the two layers apart to iron out the creases – a long laborious job.
Star rating – light blocking 5, look 4.5, colour 4.5, finish 4, material quality 3. Wanted to rate 3.5 but as I cannot and didn’t feel it fair to go down to 3 stars I have been generous and awarded 4.
Love these curtains!
I have been looking for thick blackout curtains for sometimes and a couple of other ones that I have tried are never really blackout even when advertised as that.
These however are truly and definitely blackout.
The size of the curtains was exactly perfect.
The material is thick and of good quality so will last a long time.
Although they are simple and plain they look elegant and have a very posh look to them. The silver colour is more of a light grey colour. Normally you would expect a bit of shine in silver colour but this does not. But I think they still look good.
Overall quite pleased with them
