Wasn’t sure whether to go for this or not because of the very mixed reviews but finally took the plunge on prime day and I LOVE it! So easy to use. Plenty of fizz. Bought a little my only bottle too which is perfect size for out and about. If you like sparkling water then this is the gadget for you. Buy one and save on plastic bottles

Soda Stream is famous for this product. Its very easy to use, base feels cheap cause of plastic, but I think, it will bother you, because of very good processing.
Get single use plastic out of your life
After reading such diverse reviews I was sceptical. I grew up with Sodastream and do like fizz in my water. What I don’t like is single use plastic, so wanted to give this a try. First attempt, water everywhere . Second attempt I pulled the clear plastic piece out properly, engaged the bottle in its correct place and the rest is sweet love, as Swiss Tony would say . Works very well indeed and highly recommended.

We were a little hesitant to buy the SodaStream considering some of the negative reviews on here, but we’ve found ours to be really easy to use. Unlike other users, we haven’t had to tug on it or anything to get the bottle off, so perhaps they received a faulty product?
The SodaStream comes with one gas canister, which they advertise should last for up to 60 liters of carbonated water. Since we always felt guilty about buying plastic or glass bottles of water for a one time use, we’ve actually found ourselves drinking a lot more sparkling water after buying the product. You can also go on the SodaStream website to join their gas canister exchange – it costs 22.99 per bottle, but 10 of that is a deposit that they’ll provide as a rebate if you return the canister within 1 year.

My main piece of advice to anyone buying this is, buy your flavour concentrates at ASDA. 3 instead of a minimum of 4.70 online plus postage.

I use it only for pure sparkling water. Not very easy to use but fine if pressed hard.

This is great in you drink a lot of fizzy water. It sounds expensive. You can purchase a large bottle of carbonated water for very little, but you’re then left with the plastic bottle which is not good for the environment. Very easy to set up and use.

Not very fizzy at first, we even considered returning it for a better one, but I read some of the other reviews, you need to press hard and not fill the bottle up too much. The instructions are terrible, as in there isn’t any!
Brilliant Soda stream
I got fed up carting caseloads of Diet Coke up 4 flights of stairs. So opted for Soda stream. Love drinking carbonated water – as good as bottled mineral. I am truly delighted and impressed with swift delivery. Signed up to Soda Stream website to get gas cartons and also kombucha flavouring. So happy.
It took me two goes before I realised you had to place the bottle close up when gassing to maximise fizz.

Nice gadget but....
Very easy to use and great item, however after 2 months of use I have noticed that the bottle catches somewhere in the machine and you have to twist it to release it or oull hardly. Machine made of plastic so its a bit worrying that I will oull too hard one day and break it.
I drink a lot of water and its nice to know that I dont have to buy another plastic bottle to have a fizzy water. I cant comment on flavours as I never tried any but its a great gadget to have.
Finally, a solution for diabetics
Have been struggling with water and the lack of fizzy drinks. This has helped me get off fizzy drinks! I just use it for the sparkling water element then add natural flavours like a squeeze of lemon and lime no artificial stuff. Didn’t like thier syrups, tasted awful!

Worth i
Not cheap but it’s been worth it for me. I don’t like tap water but like soda water so I am now more hydrated than I ever have been. To avoid leaks and spills, just don’t gas too much in one go.

Excellent, well made product. Slimline on the worktop in the kitchen and doesn’t take up much room. Need 3 pumps for great fizz, but if you don’t hold down The button for the full 2 seconds and wait for the fizz then a small noise like a release of air, then it won’t be very fizzy it will just be flat and taste of carbonated water.

Easy to operate on e instructions understood.
Took a while to understand how to operate correctly and to judge how many times to press to get the right carbonation which is 5 in our case. Not sure how long the gas cylinder will last at this rate. Satisfied with the result and at least we’ve drastically cut down our plastic waste.
Wow. We bought so many shop bought soda water bottles but now we soda stream !! Less plastic and the machine is easy to use. Just three two second presses gives perfect soda water. We leave a non fizzy, ready to go , water bottle in the fridge ready to fizz! ! Perfect. Don’t go for the high end stream this does the job. Practise makes perfect

Great taste, cutdown your plastic use
I drink a lot of water to keep myself hydrated due to medical condition. I prefer sparkling water and used to buy 4x2ltr bottles. Once opened the water went flat pretty quickly
Now I have 3x 1ltr soda stream bottles which I fill twice a day. The flavour is really good and more importantly the water in the specially designed bottles holds its sparkle to the last drop
I make my own lemon syrup which so good and works well added to the water

Great fizz as good as shop bought but without the extra plastic waste.
I love my soda stream maker, I need to give it a few more presses than it recommends on the button, but a cylinder of gas still lasts a month and I probably make about 1.5 litres of sparking water a day. The flavour bottles I bought were lemonade and diet cola from Lakeland as that was the only place I could find them and they have lasted well as well, but the best is just to put in a slice of fresh lemon and that works a treat really bubbly and refreshing and because you can get 0.5l bottles it means that my sparkling water is always sparkling as I just make it as and when I want to drink it, so there’s no waste and no plastic bottles. You can even subscribe to get gas bottles delivered and returned and so reduce your costs through the year. Very pleased with this as a way to cut down on our plastic bottle useage, our recycling bin is now taking weeks to fill.
I like it but..
It takes time to work out how to use it… wait for the noise..wait for the bubbles to stop then press again… use cold water. Need at least 5 presses.. great 4 less plastic use if you are a soda water drinker but money wise its cheaper to buy bottles at 49p each.. 71 for soda stream 12 New gas bottle.

I don’t often write a review but wanted to give my opinion on this product.
When I was considering buying a Soda Stream type product I did what I always do, look at the products on offer and see the reviews. The one I originally wanted to buy wasn’t available so I decided to buy this one though the reviews had some negative comments, mainly about the bubbles.
Well it’s simples, you want bubbles you just press the button more! We haven’t looked back and always store a couple of bottles in the fridge so that at any time we have fizzy water. But the best thing is you can choose your bubble level and my husband prefers less so we can actually suit the bubble content to the drinker!
Also, I now don’t have loads of purchased bottles in the kitchen and that means we are using far less plastic. It’s really a win win.
Water is ok, have to press much more than the directions to get “fizz” so canister has not lasted that long. Will persevere with it tho as we bought it to reduce plastic usage primarily. Causes a strong vacuum seal within the unit which then pops out quite violently, have spilt water on many occasions. My adult son has a stronger grip and doesn’t seem to have this problem, so it’s now his job to make the bubbles, as I am fed up of the clean up!!!!
No more plastic bottles!!
I am delighted with my SodaStream water bubbler, which works brilliantly. I was feeling so guilty about all the plastic bottles I was recycling. Now I feel guilty about not having done something about it sooner! One thing that had prevented me was thinking that bubbly tap water wouldn’t taste as good as bubbly spring water, but I am surprised to find that I can’t tell the difference – probably because I add a dash of lemon juice or wine. Happy days!
Bought this yesterday as I drink a lot of sparkling water and became bothered by wasting so much plastic.
It’s very easy to assemble. As some have said the back is quite flimsy but it holds together fine. My first attempt to fizz was hysterical I had water fountains going everywhere (the picture instructions aren’t the best) but I viewed a brilliant YouTube video and took her tips onboard. I realised I’d not pulled the tab forward before inserting the bottle which secures it in place. Rookie error.
Since then I’ve had great success. Top tip was to let the water settle a bit after each blast of gas. I like it very fizzy so do 6 blasts. THEN LEAVE IT for a minute or so to settle before taking it out of the soda stream device. Perfect sparkling water that maintains its fizz.
Also bought two empty bottles as part of the deal which I highly recommend as you can have them chilling in the fridge. I’m delighted with it. Wish I’d bought one sooner.

The first item sent was not fit for purpose. I spoke to Soda Stream and they recommended that I sent it back to Amazon. I sent a note to Amazon and they dispatched a new product the same day. The new machine is amazing. I can decide how much fizz I want and it works perfectly. The fact that I am not hauling huge bottles of soda home from the shop and I don’t have huge quantities of large plastic bottles to put in the recycling is a big bonus. Very, very happy with my purchase and the service I received from both Sodastream and especially Amazon! Thank you
Nice addition to kitche
Takes a bit of practice to get it right compared to the old model but good once mastered. Only complaint a bit pricey otherwise satisfied overall.
Takes a little getting used to!
Arrived on time, and as described. This is a replacement for an earlier model, the bottle on this model does not screw in as in previous models, but has a grip mechanism, which takes a little getting used to in order to get a good seal on the bottle. Once figured out, it works flawlessly.
You need to press longer for more fizz and have to add flavour after.
It’s a basic soda stream, the flavours you use with it are for a subtle mild taste but good fizz.

I was pleased with this product but the canister ran out after only three bottles. I don’t seem to be able to find a way to report this

I don’t understand the negative reviews here. They either have a faulty unit or aren’t using it properly. As long as you don’t overfill the bottle there is no mess, and the water is easily as sparkling as any bottled water you can buy.

Absolutely love my SodaStream, I use it daily. I brought mine in Sept 2018 and have only now had to replace the gas. It’s saved me money and reduced plastic no end as I am no longer buying water. Personally, I prefer the lighter bubbles that SodaStream makes. To add flavour, I add fruit or squash. I highly recommend SodaStream.

Only 2 star for value though as it is expensive for what it is and the build quality isn’t that good, but still well worth having.

Very pleased with this purchase, some reviews were disappointed that there was not enough fizz, I would recommend 3 firm presses for 2 Seconds each press, this puts in quite enough fizz. Extra bottles are useful and retain the fizz for at least 24hrs. Saves buying single use spring water in bottles and doing our bit for the environment.

This is amazing! I’m really excited to have carbonated water on tap. I can’t believe the reviewers who are saying that their water is not fizzy enough. Mine is incredibly fizzy! I was really chuffed to get it on an Amazon deal too.
Works well and makes water more interesting
I’m moving away from cola and other fizzy drinks, and trying to reduce single use plastic usage, so this seemed worth a try. Fizzy water is more interesting and if we do use it for squash it seems to need less concentrate.
Bought when on special offer but I think still worth a go at full price.
This model is easier to use than the ones where you screw the bottle up into the assembly. Quick and easy – fill bottle to the line, push up and back into unit, give it a couple of 2 -3 second presses on the button, pull back and it’s done. We often keep a bottle in the fridge once carbonated.
Cylinders can currently be exchanged at Robert Dyson shops for a tenner or so.
I rarely write product reviews but was so happy with this purchase. I love fizzy water- especially first thing in the morning to help give you a kickstart so it’s great to be able to have it on demand. I honestly thought it would be one of those kitchen gadgets which sits there gathering dust but I use it constantly! I’ve had it for three months and haven’t replaced the gas canister yet so it’s good value for money. Very easy to use- I’ve read a lot of reviews saying it doesn’t give enough fizz. Admittedly I think you need to press quite hard and I give it a good 4 or 5 presses so maybe that’s the answer.
Easy and fast to use
I bought this as a gift for my husband who loves sparkling water but was disheartened by the amount of plastic waste that he was contributing to each time he bought a bottle. The SodaStream is a win/win. He can make a small amount of sparkling water whenever he feels like it and other than the cost of the gas canister, which relative to the other costs is not significant, it’s a great product.
Sleek design, works well and easy to use
Really happy with the Sodastream Spirit. Very easy to use and a sleek design. As long as you fill the water bottle to the fill mark there are no issues with adding fizz – is very simple to manage level of fizz, add couple of button presses for lots of bubbles.

Stopped Buying Badoi
Mainly for environmental reasons we decided to stop buying bottled water. This Soda Stream was on offer during Black Friday and has already covered its cost in savings on bottled water.
It is very simple to use- you can precisely add as much or as little fizz as you like. It is relatively small and does not take up a large space on our limited work-surface.
Would be interesting to know exactly how eco-friendly it is compared to shop bought fizzing water.
I needed to buy a couple of extra bottles in order to keep some cool in the fridge.
Last week I had to change the CO2 canister for the first time. Took about 20 seconds. It could not be more straight forward.

Very pleased with this. Purchased to reduce the amount of plastic bottles I’ve been using. So easy to use & water stays fizzy for a long time. Make sure you fill the water up to the marker line on the bottle to ensure your water gets carbonated properly. After reading negative reviews about this product I can only assume people are using it incorrectly. If your water is not filled up to the marker then you will not get fizzy water.
A little plasticy
I love fizzy water! We used to get through loads of bottles of mineral water and when I saw my boss bringing soda stream bottles to work I considered getting one.
Growing up in the early 80s I thought of it as a lemonade or cola maker, we’d always had a simple siphon instead. I chose this model as it was good value for money at the time I bought it.
It is easy to operate but you must push the bottle fully upwards as you clamp it in, if not then the seal isn’t made and the water won’t be fizzy. They could have made that clear in the instructions.
I like that you can get money off the gas cylinders when you use SodaStream returns as well. That makes it economically a much better choice and it’s easy to do.
I’m a little disappointed in the quality of the item, the plastic feels very light and cheap. I suppose it is important to remember that around 25 of the cost is likely to be for the cylinder, the remainder is for the SodaStream unit.
No need to buy any more sparkling water!
I use a lot of soda water (either for drinking or mixing) and was concerned by the number of plastic bottles I end up buying as a result. So my natural conclusion was to carbonate the water myself, which I have to say, has been very successful. I can choose exactly how carbonated I want the water to be (from light fizz to “oh no it feels like I have popping candy in my mouth” fizz), the bottle supplied is sturdy and retains fizz extremely well, and everything is easy to use, fits well and tastes just as good as standard soda water. A big recommendation if you want to decrease your plastic usage.

I bought this for a sparkling water addict.
I don’t think it saves any money against buying bottles, however it’s surely far better for the environment with a gas canister recycling scheme.
My only complaint really is that it is very tall and doesn’t fit under the kitchen cabinets. It is also quite ugly so has to live in the pantry!
My other half is very pleased with the water it produces! And the bottles provided hold the fiz in well.
I would recommend purchasing a set of smaller bottles though…
Excellent for sparking tap wate
Read the reviews and very varied -from no good to excellent. However the price was good so I went for it ! Very easy to set up and working within a minute of unpacking. Sparking water easy to achieve after 3 blasts and I tested whether the water lost the sparkle in the provided bottle. This wasn’t the case and still bubbling when poured the following day. Ever to experiment I filled the bottle with white wine and gave it a blast or two ! Definitely had a nice sparkle to it. Would I recommend this product ? Yes I would.

I bought this in the sale for my mum for Christmas and it is brilliant! It is so easy to set up and use; the instructions for set up were just pictures but it was quite simple really. The only thing is, it doesn’t tell you how long to push the button down for to carbonate the water so that is a bit of guesswork until she gets the hang of it. My mum is very happy and I am now going to be keeping an eye out for one for me. Would I pay full price for it… no. However, it is still brilliant and I do recommend it.

Husband delighted with this for xmas. Eady to use – sparkling water at a few button presses. He drinks it by the gallon so this will be hopefully better for the envirnment too – save using all those plastic bottles
Excellent Product, Excellent Value
I am very happy with my new Sodastream Spirit. It arrived, safely packed, ahead of scheduled delivery date. I was slightly disappointed that there were no written instructions only a set of pictures. That is the reason for my 4star rating in the Ease of Use section. However, that was a minor difficulty. After an unsuccessful first try I got the method sorted out and have enjoyed sparkling water ever since. I enjoy drinking sparkling water and appreciate not having to carry heavy bottles of it home from the supermarket.
Once I realised that you had to fill just over the line to ensure fizzy water this is a fantastic product. I got it on offer so the value for money was fantastic. As someone who used to purchase 2-3 sparkling bottles a week, I am also hoping I can do a small bit for the reduction in plastic waste!

The removable cover for the cannister housing at the back feels a bit flimsy.
Saves money? I am yet to work out the economics of it. I use this only for making Soda water – not as a lemonade/Cola/fizzy pop replacement. After the initial purchase, each cannister apparently makes 60L of Soda water – though I assume that is with the minimum recommended ‘fizziness’, and I put a couple of extra pumps in for my preference, which is more like store bought Soda water – and costs 23 currenly on Amazon. This works out at a little over 38p a litre. By contrast Morrisons soda water is 45p a litre (alson on Amazon). So, factoring in a probably get a little less than the 60L out of the cannister it is probably more or less even.
For me, worth it for using far fewer plastic bottles and the convenience of Soda water on demand (assuming you have the gas!)
Can’t comment on the flavour of the syrups as I haven’t used any.

Bought it to cut down on plastic bottles
I had an old SodaStream years ago. With bottles of fizzy water at 20p a the supermarket, I gave up using it.
Having seen how much of a problem plastic bottles are, I picked up a newer model, and it does a great job.
Five button presses and it’s just as fizzy as shop bought sparkling water. I bought a couple of spare bottles so I can chill some more water in the fridge, ready for use later.
It has a larger capacity than my old one – making just over a pint glass worth. It stays fizzy in the bottles, so that’s not a problem.
Wanted to reduce our single-use plastic consumption so thought we’d give this a try. Love it for ‘on demand’ sparkling water and not having to lump 2l multipacks from the shop!
Don’t forget to factor in the gas canister costs, they are 15 for 60l (you swap out empty for new at Argos etc.).
Would have preferred the one with the glass bottles but as that model opens upward we wouldn’t have had the space.
Overall very pleased and would recommend.

Tasty sparkling wate
Easy to use and the water has a great taste (nothing to share with the one we used to make using powder when I was younger). Dosing in a reproducible manner is not easy.
I purchased one of these in May, and it leaked, then broke. Amazon credited straight away and I replaced. The first one must have been defective, as this is very easy to use, doesn’t leak, and I am very happy with it. Three standard squirts for a big 1 litre bottle is all we need, 2 for the mini bottles. Very please with this and Amazon’s instant refund. The water tastes good and the fizz lasts.
I read through quite a lot of negative reviews and was very hesitant but thought, I’ll give it a go myself.
– A lot of people were saying they weren’t getting fizz from it, i can only assume they were using it incorrectly as I got a fantastic fizz from it! Really powerful and took seconds, also stayed fizzy for a very long time.

Fantastic. Works really well. The bottles that come with it are perfect size for the fridge so I always have chilled water ready to fizz. Haven’t tried any flavours but have reduced my plastic recycling loads not buying sparkling water any more.
Fulfilled my childhood dream of a sodastream, but as an adult it’s more about stopping buying bottles of sparkling water to save on plastic. Works like a dream – at first, we thought it wasn’t making the water very sparkly but you have to press down very hard (all the way) and really hold for two seconds at a time, and then it works perfectly. We’re drinking so much water!
Pretty good produc
Glad not to be buying plastic bottles which is the only reason I bought a soda stream. Sometimes it works better than others at putting in the bubbles but I can’t work out why.
Great product. I can’t live without sparkling water. I had a much older SodaStream model so this was just an upgrade, it has definitely come a long way in terms of quality. The bottle just clips in now instead of of having to screw it in, and it doesn’t make a horrible farting sound when it’s reaches pressure anymore.

This is great, we won’t need to buy any more sparkling water in plastic or glass bottles, much better for the environment.

The product is fine – however less than two weeks later the same item is priced at 59.99 when I paid 75.99!
Sparkling water whenever I want it. Did have one mishap in that I held the button be down too long and the bottle shot off covering me in water. I now do 2 presses, release pressure and do another. Saving the environment makes this worth while it’s shocking when you read the carbon footprint for a bottle of sparkling water.
Very happy with my purchase
Very happy with my sodastream. Bought it as an investment to reduce my plastic bottle consumption as I was drinking so much fizzy water. I don’t use the sodas, so can’t comment on those, but it’s a sleek design and produces good fizzy water!
It sounds obvious but some instruction on how to actually fizz the water would be helpful! Trial and error until we got it right.
Nice looking and a great asset in the kitchen. These new generation SodaStream machines are even better than the old ones. Love the design but taller than I expected and won’t fit under the top cupboard units. So easy to use and saves on buying plastic bottles from the supermarket every week.Love the fact you can make drinks as fizzy as you want with just one,two or three presses.
Tried the sugar free orange and mango and cloudy lemonade and diet cola. All very good.
What a great buy. I use this every day and the water is beautifully sparkling and lasts until the next day if you recap it. It saves us money on bottled water but most importantly, it cuts down the appalling amount of plastic waste that is created by buying bottled sparkling water. Easy to use, no power supply needed and great water (we don’t use the flavoured syrups). If you like your water really fizzy just press the carbonating button for longer, it’s so easy, I highly recommend this.
