Fantastic game. Thoroughly entertaining, enjoyable and fun. It has a good storyline, and does not require you to know anything about Star Wars. My only criticism would be that it’s not long enough.

This game first of all feels and sounds like star wars which is important to any game to help immerse yourself in the environment. There is lots of Easter eggs and lore references especially to the clone wars. This will help your drive to explore these locations which take form in various planets, some familiar and some not. History of the jedi is also a big factor, exploring this ancient order is one of the games biggest draws.

The game also plays rather well in combat with your character slowly evolving as you progress through the game learning new abilities that will gain you access to previous areas. learning new force and lightsaber abilities is fantastic, taking down enemies in a variety and creative ways. I must purchase if you liked and familiar with God of War the new gold standard in combat. puzzles and climbing also a big factor.

Length of the game is good for a linier single player game taking into account the extra exploration avenues. the presentation is very good and links well with the sound.

To summarise a must buy for any star wars fan or anybody that is keen on story driven single player games with excellent combat. The game could benefit from a more open level design however is a great start and choice method for the story could also be implemented to make this story your own.

We’ve not had a decent Star Wars game in quite some time. Battlefront was pretty decent, bf 2, mmmm, not so much.
Without a doubt this is the greatest Star Wars game on current gen.
Whilst the games combat system is fun, wielding a lightsaber is awesome, I’m just losing Interest very quickly. You come across a bunch of guards, the action begins. Then it slowwwwws right down. By tedious puzzles and boring exploration.
Then it picks up again. There’s just nothing that has caught my attention, it’s not wowed me. As let’s say, god of war did.
But when it gets going, it gets going.
But I find it being let down by everything else.
    Still… definitely worth a go.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersStar Wars: Jedi Fallen Order.

    PS4 Review.

    Pro’s.
    Interesting Characters
    Intriguing Storyline.
    Atmospheric Music Score.
    BD Is Awesome.

    Con’s:
    Combat Needs Improving
    Jumping Mechanics Are Awful.
    That Ruddy Daft Force Metre.

    Synopsis.
A former Padawan named Cal is on the run from the Empire, you must complete your training before Imperial Inquisitors discover your plan to revive the Jedi Order. Aided by a former Jedi Knight, a cantankerous pilot & a fearless droid, you must escape the evil machinations of the Empire.

    Timelord Review.
Fallen Jedi Order despite a few technical issues finally delivers a solidly enjoyable story driven game that features great characters, plenty of drama, mystery & emotion enhanced by a superb music score which gave me goosebumps during several scenes throughout the game.

The game takes around 20 hours to complete & features plenty of side quests along with the main campaign, there are around 6 planets to explore each with there own weather environments, monsters & characters to interact with.

There’s plenty to upgrade along the way from Cals upgraded light saber abilities to increased force powers, also there are ponchos to collect & various parts or skins to upgrade for your light saber, BD & your ship, the characters are well written & each have there own back story which makes the story progressively intriguing as you learn more about them.

However there are a few issues i had with this game, the jumping/climbing mechanics are shocking & i found myself dying more from a miss-timed jump than a actual light saber battle, several times i jumped & missed my mark or veered off the ice falling to my death while climbing i sometimes just fell for no apparent reason & I’m surprised this issue hasn’t been patched as its quite a frustrating experience.

My other gripe is the Sekiro combat style timed button presses which doesn’t work for this type of game as no matter how much you upgrade Cal’s abilities i always felt on the backfoot defending against enemies especially in the later boss battles when i should be on the frontfoot attacking, taking out stormtrropers is also slow & sluggish made more annoying by a Force Metre which quickly depletes, when you upgrade you should be able to use that manoeuvre as much as you like not be hampered by a ruddy force metre this feels dated & the gameplay would’ve benefited from a Shadow Of War style combat.

Fallen Jedi Order adds a great storyline to the Star Wars universe that embodies the qualities of George Lucas true vision & while it has a few issues that occasionally frustrate it doesn’t ruin this from being a unplayable experience, hopefully if Respawn/EA do a sequel these issues will be fixed because finally we have a Star Wars game that i can highly recommend playing.

Visually stunning you can tell that the developers spent a lot of time on the art work and getting the feel of an ancient lost civilisation. The voice actors do a fantastic job bringing emotion to video game characters. The controls are good and the puzzles challenging without being extremely difficult..
The game itself was quite short and the writing felt hollow sometimes, like the reason the characters are there isnt fleshed out. Also the AI needs a lot of work as stormtroopers say and do stupid things. If this game was brought out on ps3 it would be a classic by now but the lack of replay ability leaves it lacking in areas where you want more ! I will be getting another in the series if they make one

Following the deeply disappointing Star Wars Battlefront games Jedi Fallen Order is the first Star Wars game on the PS4 that is actually half decent. The graphics and voice acting do a lot to capture the mood and tone of an original Star Wars story. However, apart from some cosmetic choices, such as picking which poncho you wear, the story is very linear and there are few meaningful player decisions.

In its gameplay Fallen Order most closely resembles the recent Tomb Raider releases with big open world maps to explore, but which funnel you down a particular route. As you unlock new abilities and equipment new routes will become available, allowing you to revisit previously explored locations.

Comparisons to Dark Souls can be found, especially in a mechanic which allows you to rest and recover health but at the cost of your enemies respawning. The difficulty is also similar to Dark Souls with only the easiest difficulty level allowing you to play through without your stress levels going through the roof.

The story centres around a young jedi in the time before Episode IV of the movies, being hunted by the Empire and trying to restore the jedi order. It’s an entirely unoriginal plot and one with few surprises. The voice acting on the whole is very good, with some entertaining supporting characters and a bland but sympathetic lead.

Gameplay mainly centres around you exploring areas much like a jedi Lara Croft. There are a lot of physical puzzles involving a lot of jumping and climbing. In combat you do get to use a lightsaber which looks and sounds great, but there are not too many combat moves making much of the action repetitive.

The weakest part of the game is the lack of options to alter the story or engage meaningfully with the world. While I appreciate this is not a roleplaying game it would have been nice to have some populated worlds to visit and more dialogue options when interacting with others. As you progress the story feels more like you are following a predetermined plot than forging your own path.

Overall this is a much better Star Wars game than Battlefront, but it is not a classic by any means. After only a short time I found myself thinking in of terms of “where am I supposed to go next” rather than doing what I wanted to do. Its enjoyable to play a game set in in the Star Wars universe once again but I don’t think I will be playing it through more than once.

This is an entertaining Star Wars game and one of the best ones that has been released. Its not quite up to the standard of KOTOR, X-wing vs Tie fighter, or Jedi Academy but it has kept me entertained. The combat is fairly difficult on the most difficult setting, and easy on the first two settings so should cater to most player levels. The force progression is good, it fits within the games overall progression nicely.

The force itself does not feel massively overpowered which could disappoint people, but this does keep the game suitably difficult and can result in you loosing to low level enemies by mistake. While it also allows you to complete dominate single targets and groups when used correctly, which feels more satisfying when you know it could have all gone wrong.

I saw all the 1 star reviews and felt compelled to leave my own. Honestly I think these people dont know what they are talking about.

They moan about awkward controls but I think it is more that they are just bad at the game. The controls are reminiscent of dark souls and so is the combat – if you put it on jedi master difficulty it is a challenge otherwise you can just run through and enjoy the story.
Graphically this game is beautiful I play it on PS4 Pro and am honestly convinced it is the most detailed game in terms of graphics I have ever played, i was literally shocked by how good it looked, and I’m pretty hard to please when it comes to aesthetics .

If you like the way you traverse the story in Ratchet and Clank with the exploration and travel of worlds, unlocking new parts of planets to explore with your expanding abilities, then you’ll like this.

If you like the way that uncharted plays for its movement, climbing and dramatic acrobatic sequences, you like this.

If you want to play dark souls with a jedi – get this and smack it on jedi master or above.

The only thing I thought after spending maybe 12-15 hours completing the story mode was … whens the next one coming out or can I get my hands on more DLC.

The only compliant I have is that occasionally my frame rate would drop for a second because of the amounts of rich detail within the game – I turned off enhancements and played fined

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Userslike playing tomb raider on crack whilst comsuming large amounts of acid at a glowstick rave… this game is a 10/10 easy.. dispite the EA badge respawn is a very hardd working and ambitious developer subsidery of EA and they’ve really saved the EA star wars license with this game the marketing was terrible! the reveal at EA play last year was even worse but the actual product and end result was way better then anyone could of predicted if you like darksouls, god of war, uncharted and even bits of mass effect peppered in then yourl love this game… be warned though unless you are a veteran of this genre of game the combat is very unforgiving and you will be having a very hard time getting past even the first level defiantly not suitable for the fortnite kids or total war statededgy gamers.. you will need years of heightened reflexes and 100% platinums to be competent at combat in this game so stick to the story mode if your a weeb or go full grandmaster.. no inbetween 😛 this is the “triple A” star wars experience you have been waiting for since knights of the old republic 🙂

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersStar wars fallen order what can i use best to review this single player star Adventure? Frustration , Fun , nostalgia of past star wars games of the early 2000s Jedi knight jedi knight academy. This game really brings a smile to my face every time i play it because it does not hold your hand .

Cons. The game play i enjoyed the light saber combat and it is the best combat in a star wars game since jedi knight games of the early 2000s.The levels layouts of the planets is both frustating and rewarding at the same time, this game takes a little patient to get into at first but when you get the climbing mastered you will begin to enjoy exploring the various planets.
The graphics are nice and detailed on the PS4 various charactors are well voice acted. One other point i want to mention is that i feel that this game would be enjoyed even more on a Mid to high PC the reason being is that the is a lot of buttons and the console controler can sometime in my opinion be a little tedious to use all of the force powers that you gain as the game progesses, force pull, push, slow ,light saber throw and blocking climbing and so on there are so many buttons and in the heat of battle you can sometimes press the wrong button ,i would feel more comfortable playing this game with a controller and a mouse.
Star wars fallen is a game that i have been waiting for for years,it is challenging fun and rewarding if you just stick to playing and Think ,it forces you to use your brain . 4 out 5 buy this game if you love star wars .

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve played quite a few hours over this weekend and I have really enjoyed it so far. For me it’s very Tomb Raider/Unchartedy, but it works.
I see people complaining about the controls which are fiddly at first, but i was able to get the hang of them after a couple of hours play.
Characters and voice acting are great and the graphics are good, except for a bug or two which affected the textures.
Good story so far, I think I’m nearing the end but it could be longer if I’m honest.
There have been some minor glitches but I expect that these days from a new release.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersEvery preview of this game I saw on YouTube hit the mark:
    – Puzzle platformer with a lightsaber
    – Metroidvania style unlock and revisit to key areas
    – methodical combat
    – tempered force powers when comparing to the force unleashed

Good graphics and story so far (only 4hrs in). More than anything it feels like a Star Wars game and feels like a Star Wars story.

I like the fact I’m not over powered like in the force unleashed where you could basically force lightning anything into submission. You need to block, time attacks and consider how you balance the melee enemies with those at range – blasters and rockets for example providing different challenges.

Re controls which I have seen commented on – if you don’t like the config change them! I’ve flipped block to L2 as I find it more comfortable and it’s one of the most used buttons.

Great so far and my favourite Star Wars game since Knights of the Old Republic.

    Update:14/12/19
Finished the main story last week – excellent.

I found the late game fast progression a little disappointing as the enemies don’t get more difficult/increase in number.

For me the endgame lacks punch – becomes a map revisit to find secrets and open chests you could access without certain powers. I would like to have seen more enemies / more challenges given you are likely to be fully powered up (I had only one power to unlock when I completed the main story)

Overall great and still best since Knights of the Old Republic. Would be great to see expansion/sequel!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGutted never got the preorder bonus, but other than that a great game. Plays a lot like dark souls and uncharted. Graphics are okay, a lot of frame rate issues atm

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFrom what I’ve played so far, it is an obvious mix of uncharted and dark souls gameplay, that’s a good thing, without the severe difficulty. It looks and sounds great. I’m very impressed so far. After a glut of bad star wars films and games this is refreshing.

I am enjoying this game so far. It’s a very nice looking game although there are some frame rate issues on PS4 at the time if writing.

There isn’t a massive variety in enemy types or in the level design but all in all its a fun star wars game.

Think Dark souls fighting although far more forgiving crossed with uncharted/tomb raider platforming set in the star wars universe.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThe best Star Wars game in years . Game has no micro transactions , no always online crap and is a great full single player story driven game . Has the quality level of God of war , Spider-Man and red dead redemption 2 from last year . Support this product and show EA we want games like this . The developers who made this also made titanfall 1-2 and apex legends . Talented studio .

Golden Review Award: 101 From Our UsersUpdate: Played another couple of hours and have come to the conclusion that this is another game I will not see the end of simply due to boredom. There are some great set-pieces (ATAT cockpit etc.) but the story is becoming tedious and game formula is getting a bit too repetitive for my liking. EA could have/should have been a little more ambitious here considering how badly they have handled the rights to star wars so far. the further I get in the game the more copy and pasted from other (better) games it feels and I’m losing the will to carry on. I would wait for a price drop before purchasing. We desperately need a modernised version of KOTR or similar but with EA at the helm – no chance.

Uncharted star wars edition is the best way I can sum up the first five hours or so of fallen order I’ve played so far.
No spoilers ahead, just my first impressions.
If you were hoping for a jedi RPG open world experience then you may be disappointed. This is a linear, story driven game with fun and satisfying lightsaber combat, a simple but rewarding upgrade system with some great puzzle solving thrown in.
The story so far is engaging enough to keep me interested. The character models, facial animations and voice acting are spot on and graphics are superb on PC at ultra 1440p.
In my first few hours with the game I’ve visited two planets. The first swamp planet kicks off the story and introduces you to the type of game you are playing. You land on a planet, you have an objective and you can stray off the path slightly to pick up cosmetic skins for your character, lightsaber, ship and droid friend along with skill points, force and health upgrades plus ‘force echoes’ that allow you to learn about the planet your on.
A couple of paths have led to mini boss fights and puzzles and the game seems to want you to return to these planets later as a few paths will be unaccessible without learning the correct skill like force push for example which you don’t learn until you reach the second planet.
The next planet has you visiting an ice tomb which turned out to be one giant puzzle involving large balls and lots of force push with quite a bit of back tracking. The formula is simple and has been done before (some might say done better) but so far I’m having fun and if you like this type of game and are a star wars fan I think you would enjoy it.
