Only problem was some error with preorder when originally released, which meant that I didn’t receive the game on the day of release. So had to get the copy sent again.
Received with no additional costs A day later with no problems.
Loved the game and still replay from time to time.
Have only played a couple of hours, I needed to play this game because of the new Disney series with the ties from this game, it also came with a PS5 free upgrade nice!
Right! I’ll get straight to it. I enjoyed the game but it was much shorter than expected. I looked online and saw it mention that you get to visit about eight planets. I think I got to visit 5 with two extra (non replayable).
Another point is that this game felt more like tomb raider in space (at least to me), with the use of light sabres and of course force abilities. I make the comparison with tomb raider as there were definite parallels with the way the game played.
It also became quite repetitive as other reviewers have pointed out and the lack of fast travel points became very frustrating.
I bought this game as a way of having another PS5 game, pickings are a bit slim at the moment on the console and I see to be playing more upgraded games rather than current gen games. Future proofing by having an upgrade is what I’m building my current collection on. Saying that this is a fantastic game for any Star Wars fans
N.B. I am writing this review some months after finishing it and no spoilers (besides one about the MC’s level of training but this shouldn’t ruin the story).
I grew up with the likes of KOTOR so a good Star Wars story is something I have been hoping for for a while. This game did not disappoint. Really engaging characters, likeable side characters & villains. Excellent worlds, great detail and felt very alive. Sound design, as you’d expect from a SW game, is absolutely brilliant.
Maybe slightly different to others but I am not too keen on the main character, they’re pretty bland and the voice acting/motion capture is a little to be desired. This might not have been as much of a problem if the other characters weren’t done so well (shout out to all my Greez fans out there).
Combat:
Overall, very enjoyable. I would have preferred more force powers, less ‘force stamina’ and true lightsabre destruction (it burns through surroundings/environment but can’t go through bodies). But, as it stands, the combat is fun in terms of strategy and still feeling like a Jedi. The force powers and ‘force stamina’ can be understood based off of the the MC being a padawan so it didn’t bother me *too* much.
Performance:
As I say in the title, the main thing that ruins this game for me is the performance. Considering I played this around Dec 2020-Jan 2021 and performance issues were still not fixed since launch is very disappointing. The frame rate is abysmal in areas and the texture pop ins are very jarring and takes you out of the game. Considering what I have said earlier, in terms of the characters, story and world, you are very immersed but then the sudden loading in of the fine resolution textures and game stuttering makes you come crashing back to the real world very quickly. There were a few instances of falling through the world and sound desynching.
Was actually quite good for EA and a star wars game. Souls like combat although a lot easier even on hardest difficulty. Disappointed on the boss battles tbh, nothing creative and the lightsabre vs lightsabre fights were quite dull. Despite that i had a lot of fun playing around exploring the planets to 100% completion. The story was serviceable but could have been better. Will probably not play again but will buy sequel.
I was waiting for a decent Star Wars game to come out after SW Unleashed and this is pretty much it! It has loads of platform sections too! Overall I am very happy with it (played on PS5)
Been playing the game on base PS4 for about 5-10 hours now and it is a great game which has clearly taken inspiration from Souls games and placed it into the Star Wars universe which I can only commend. The reason for the 4 stars, however, is due to some really bad performance issues on base PS4; I’ll get really poor texture pop-in (sometimes minutes after entering an area) and frame rate dips which really take you out of the action. I’m used to minor performance issues in games such as Bloodborne, but Fallen Order appears to have lots more, more frequently. It’s not like some of these areas are particularly demanding to load in either so it’s actually quite strange.
I can see that it’s clear Respawn know what makes a Souls-like good and they have done well in translating this formula into a Star Wars game. But either they didn’t have the resources or time from the publisher (EA obviously) or they don’t have the capability to optimise properly on the base consoles. Something tells me it’s the former as I know Respawn are more than capable of optimising games (Titanfall 2 runs fine on base consoles).
Overall, decent game but expect some issues on base consoles.
Thoroughly enjoyed playing this game. I’m very much a casual gamer and this was perfect for relaxing in the evening and escaping reality. Great cinimatics and story!
Very fan of the Saga, the third person mode is fantastic, however I am more fan of first person shooters. The music and audio effects are well made and gives you an amazing star wars experience. Must in your collection if you are a fan.
Set after the events of Revenge of the Sith, it follows Cal Kestus who is a Jedi who is hiding from the Empire, following Order 66. He happens across an ex Jedi who is working to find a list of force sensitives and foundlings in order to rebuild the Jedi order. As Kal it is your job to explore the galaxy finding all the clues that will help you find the list, with help from your buddy drips, BD-1!
Some incredible acting through out including voices from Matt Mercer, Sam Regal, Liam O’Brian and Travis Gillingham from Critical Role fame.
Overall the game is very good, it has a brilliantly written story line that all star wars fans will fall in love with, it brings a new feel to the star wars world and shows us things we have never seen before.
The gameplay is outstanding, and the mechanics work brilliantly (some may find a bit confusing) however seeing as the game is relatively small for a DLC only game, this takes away from the experience, but overall i would recommend.
Combat is brilliant, story is orginal and captivating. You get a decent lenght campaign.
Only draw back is the amount of customisation available. It would have been made better if there were more options to make the main character your own. Having said that getting to build your own lightsabre the way you want it is very cool and most Star Wars fans dream!
If you have yet to play it, would suggest picking it up!
I have to say, upon installing this game and playing it I was at first a little bored by the game. ‘Great, another Dark Souls clone’ I thought to myself. Little did I know how addictive and suprisingly full of content this game is. The story itself is worth paying for as it keeps you interested and hooked until the very end. The fighting mechanics can seem to be a bit wonky but to be honest it does the job well, and as you get better powers and master the arts of the Jedi warrior, you will notice the game just keeps so much better. The graphics are top notch, some of the vistas are just downright mesmerising.
his is one of the best star wars games i know of. despite being a story driven game it has an open world feel to it as you can travel to any of the 6 planets whenever you want to. the combat feels great, the graphics are amazing. It brings such a fun, emotional and interactive experience that i believe any star wars fan would only ever dream of
great game – initially had an issue as the envelope arrived empty but the supplier Cost Dropper were fantastic in sorting out the problem – thank you very much
This game is lots and lots of fun. It combines the exploration and adventure genres with spinny, twirly laser swords and super jumpy Jedi lords. It’s a difficult game for some (for me) and it really pushes the original PS4 to its limits — if you have a PS4 Pro, you’ll only notice a little bit of lag here and there.
Lots of people will say it’s not a good game and that’s simply not true, it’s not just their cup of tea. But if you like the Uncharted series and you’re a massive Star Wars fan — this game is basically these things combined.
Not everyone likes a multiplayer Star Wars game, I’m looking at you Battlefront 2. Granted that game had a single player story mode but that was far too short for me.
This game has a lengthy story and the worlds are great to explore, especially if you like hoovering up lore and collectables. Combat is solid and draws from the Soulsborne series meaning that you have to learn to time your attacks and parry when required.
This game reviewed and sold well so hopefully EA get the message that there is still a need for single player experiences, especially in the Star Wars universe.
What an absolute experience. This game is awesome in every possible way. You will love it even if you’re not a Star Wars fan. You cannot go wrong with this game. The story is so intense, you will sweat at the boss fights. Get it now! You’ll thank me later.
Felt like a kid again playing tomb raider on my PlayStation 2. That nostalgia mixed with my love for the Star Wars franchise made this game a favourite for me. Blows battlefront out of the water. Would recommend.
There is nothing in this to suggest a 16 rating other than the gameplay might be a bit frustrating for younger players. I don’t let my 13 year old play older games as a rule, but this is fine in my opinion. Graphics are nice and the story is fine for kids (teenagers). Adults will find it not that challenging.
I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. He absolutely loved it. Long hours of game play. Adventure style game. Going on quests and searching for stuff. Looked amazing graphics to me.
It won’t be the most challenging game you’ll play, but if you’re a Star Wars fan, you’ll think it stupendously fun. There’s a nice mix of lightsabre action and world exploring. My only criticism is that it was over too soon, so hopefully the next one has a longer narrative. A Star Wars open world game: that’s the dream.
This, to my thinking, is the best Star Wars game to hit consoles in years! Gameplay is fluid, characters actually have not only a story, but an arc. Best of all, no micro transactions!! The only downsides are long loading times and the near-inability to use health ‘stims’ in the heat of battle as one animation cycle wont cancel another! Generally though, a great game!
What a game, highly recommended. It’s not often you want to play a game from the start again straight away, with the rubbish EA has put out before I didn’t expect much and was happily surprised.
Bought this myself not too long after launch when it still cost a fair bit, and thought it was worth every penny. Though not the longest game – I think I got about 20hrs out of my first playthrough – I’d happily play it all over again, as it’s the perfect story-driven Star Wars game, with engaging lightsaber combat, stellar voice-acting, and a story far better than the last trilogy. This title single-handedly revived my dwindling love for both gaming and Star Wars, and is about the best thing to happen to the franchise since SWBFII 2005 and the The Clone Wars tv show.
Just trust in the Force and buy it, okay?
Absolutely brilliant no questions asked, only slight issue I have is about when you die you respawn quite far away from where u died which is quite annoying but still amazing game
Only problem was some error with preorder when originally released, which meant that I didn’t receive the game on the day of release. So had to get the copy sent again.

Only worth buying if going cheap!

Love Star Wars anyway so for me this is a fantastic game
Climbing aboard and hijacking an at-at walker and blasting stormtroopers on Endor was probably one of the best video gaming experiences I’ve had.
if you like Star Wars, don’t hesitate, you’ll love this game.

When it finally arrived a week late the other half was very happy receiving his gif
Thoroughly enjoyed playing this game. I’m very much a casual gamer and this was perfect for relaxing in the evening and escaping reality. Great cinimatics and story!
Great game and unbelievable graphics when running “Performance Mode” on PS5/PS4 Pro.
Arrived brand new and sealed!
Partner loves the game and says it’s fantastic!
It was a gift. I think it made the objective.
Came a day late, but luckily in time for Christmas, great quality, good price

This game was amazing start to finish. The story is canon and adds little bits of details to thing such as order 66.
Great game for Star Wars fans..features the store of force sensitive characters outside of the sky Walker stories.

l bought this for my grandchild and he seems very happy with i
great game – initially had an issue as the envelope arrived empty but the supplier Cost Dropper were fantastic in sorting out the problem – thank you very much
Brilliant love it. Got back on PS4 a bit during lockdown. This game was really enjoyable. Good price too.

This game saved EA.. kinda.
I have ambitious hopes for the sequel
Nice game but very hard i found it to play. Id say if you play games on Hard start on Normal.
Great game, if not too short. Once the story is played the game has very little replay value and is worthy of a trade in.
What an absolute experience. This game is awesome in every possible way. You will love it even if you’re not a Star Wars fan. You cannot go wrong with this game. The story is so intense, you will sweat at the boss fights. Get it now! You’ll thank me later.
Extremely fun gameplay but the main story is a bit short. Wish there was an option to play the last mission again.
Felt like a kid again playing tomb raider on my PlayStation 2. That nostalgia mixed with my love for the Star Wars franchise made this game a favourite for me. Blows battlefront out of the water. Would recommend.
Mainly excellent star wars game slightly let down by the sliding slope bits.
Great gameplay and true to the Star Wars universe, however times when the game lags a bit which is frustrating.
If you’re a Star Wars fan, you’ll love this game, from the opening cinematic shot, through to the gameplay, tis a joy to behold
My partner says “It was really good but I managed to complete it really quickly”
I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. He absolutely loved it. Long hours of game play. Adventure style game. Going on quests and searching for stuff. Looked amazing graphics to me.

Great game, little on the short side. Mad difficulty spikes in some areas. If you love Star Wars and want something new, give this a go
Oh the stress! This game is a pain, it’s absolutely stunning graphic wise and I’m enjoying it so far.

Engaging game play, enough force abilities and puzzles to keep you busy for hours and hours.
Great game but doesn’t last very long. By Boxing Day my son had finished i
Absolutely brilliant no questions asked, only slight issue I have is about when you die you respawn quite far away from where u died which is quite annoying but still amazing game
Highly recommend it. Looking forward to see what EA comes up with next.
