I started using a Lumie lamp this year because I suffer badly with chronic fatigue and feel there may be an element of seasonal affective disorder to that, so I was really keen to try a sunrise alarm. It’s a great way to ensure I get some health-giving rays first thing every morning.
This model is good value for money and can be used as an alarm clock, lamp and wake-up light. There are lots of options too, for brightness and sounds. You can also access the radio with it and relax with the different colour settings. I’m delighted with it and expect this product will really come into its own this winter.
Gave to my son as he was jealous of a lamp I bought. The radio tunes ok which was a surprise as no one much uses fm anymore but it seems good. The clock is also nice and bright. This is really good quality and build and I just love it. He’s 18 so probably doesn’t want it so I think it’ll end up on our other bedside table! 2 beautiful colourful lamps! Buy this, what’s not to love. It is lovely!
I love this clock lamp, it’s nice and relaxing and host a whole manner of features. I like that it gently wakes you up by simulating daylight. The alarm is reliable and always goes off when I set it to. Nice stylish design. Easy to keep clean. Would make for a great gift! Reasonably priced at around 33
I love this alarm clock so much I would like to buy it for myself. I bought those clock for my 8 and 11 years old and children love the clock. They wake up with bird’s singing sound, it is loud enough for me to hear it too . Kids like radio and different colours setting.
I use one of these all year round as I like to be up before sunrise every morning to take the dogs out before mucking out so even in the spring and summer months these are essential for me for a nice wake-up! This is a very decent model for the price with very good lux levels, easy to use and a good range of options and combinations to get the perfect wake-up and I find the buttons on the side so simple after just a couple of weeks I can set what I want even in the dark. Can be quite bright if you need it to be which is handy but also can be a very lovely soft dim night light for winding down or getting up in the night without waking up hubby/your significant other, so they’ll appreciate too! Really can;t fault it and is good value so would definitively recommend 100%.
Easy to use and set alarms, lots of different options on brightness for sunrise lamp and time of when it comes on, ranging from 10 – 60 mins. 5 different sounds for wake up alarm to go along side sunrise with varying different levels of volume. Alarm options are Mon-Sun, MOn – Fri and Sat-Sun, you can choose 2 options with the slider buttons and have alarm 1 and alarm 2. Note if you have slightly earlier alarm set of a weekend for example and need a one off alarm in the week, and you set the sat/sun alarm for a tuesday for example the alarm will NOT go off, you would need to adjust the alarm time for the week day required.
Very nice light effect, can go very bright or dim if needed. I would only take away one star due to there not being a very good range of alarm noises. There’s only around 2 I would say are nice to wake up to, the other 10 roughly are generic and loud. As the sunrise effect is supposed to be a more relaxing and natural way to wake up, I would’ve expected a few nicer alarm sounds. Other than that though it’s great, the light has lots of different effects and colours. The radio works well and can also be used for the alarm. The power cable seems a little temperamental with mine where in some positions it seems to switch off strangely but could just be mine
This has been the best thing I’ve gotten on Amazon. It’s so east to use. Love the lights available. The time is so east to read at night, I really love that it’s not a overpowering light that it could hurt your eyes. My daughter absolutely loves it in her room. I would definitely recommend.
This is an excellent alarm clock with a lot of features and some of which are really nice. So this is my second light up / sunrise alarm clock and I really find the effect helpful for waking up, it really does help ease your wake up process and now actually I often find myself waking up from the light without needing the sound to play which is much nicer.
So my first impression when I got the clock out of the box was that there are certainly a lot of buttons and controls on there, it is a little overwhelming at first and to be honest I’m not sure I know what they all do even now but by working through the instruction booklet which is surprisingly well detailed then setting the time and alarms is really quite straightforward. One thing I do really like is that you can have two separate alarms and also schedules for the days of the week for the alarms to be active, unfortunately this is not quite as granular as I would like to specify single days but you only have the options for weekdays, weekends or every day.

As someone who needs a little help to sleep I can really see the value in this clock/lamp. I tend to use an audiobook to drift off to, which works really well for me but doesn’t have an auto shut off. This lamp does. It has a sleep timer that can be set as low as 10mins to as much as 120mins, it has sound effects or radio that can be played at your chosen volume and it has a light that can be set to a colour or be moving colours. Now frankly I find a lot of the sound effects annoying or obnoxious but I can get away with the bird song and the sound of gentle waves rolling in. The seaside with sea birds and the night sounds with owl hooting every 10seconds demand too much of my attention to work. As for the sounds that chime like a cheap musical doorbell well let’s just say they’re not helping anyone relax.
There are two alarms. They can be set to have the dawn light come on gradually up to full sunrise when the alarm sounds or just to come on as the alarm sounds. This pre-alarm light can be set for 10-60mins. The alarm like the sleep timer has a selection of sounds and a volume setting. The alarms can be set for weekdays or weekends or both. The two alarms could be set for either.
The lamp can be used as a lamp and the time display can be dimmed to the point where it is not visible if you so choose.
The FM radio can be used independently of the alarm and as the alarm.
All in all I’m impressed with the lamp especially as the pre alarm and I quite enjoy the couple of sounds I find relaxing.
I think it’s quite expensive for an alarm clock but as a sleeping aid it’s worth the cost.
Although I think this looks a little odd on our bedside table during the day, the night lights and white noise sounds make up for the look of it.
It’s lovely to fall asleep with the ambient nightlight, with sounds of nature in the background. Waking up with the sunlight mode will be nice during dark winter mornings.
Overall, if you can get past the way this looks – you’ll love what it has to offer.
I don’t often write reviews, but I wanted to as I’m so pleased with this item. I’ve only been using it a few days, but it’s def better than the Lumie one I had before (which was 3x the price). Very happy.
This is a pretty robust unit and feels quite solid. The touch-sensitive buttons on the front work well; including when you need to do a “long touch” to get the radio to search for stations. (The usual not-great-English in the instructions but I found it understandable still.)
The basic FM radio actually works quite well; I just have the aerial hanging off the edge of my table and the reception is fine where I am in a small city.
The ‘sunrise’ light comes on about a minute before the alarm time. It comes on gradually but still quite quickly – not the “gentle rise” I was expecting! There are various alarm sounds, some are OK but others (especially the breaking waves one) sound tin-like, a feasible attempt at creating the sound rather than sampling a real wave sound.
An OK wake up alarm. Good to try if you want to see if this kind of thing works for you. Perhaps if it does help you wake up you’ll want to try a better one later; this on is not a SAD light at all.
This is a great night for the kids bedroom but I am going to useit myself as I like the night light and alarm features. They have some nice LED effects, my son likes the rainbow effect. There dual alarms do great as you can set times for weekedays and weekends. It is easy to use, there are volume controls and brightness settings on it but if I have to be honest I am not keen on the built in sounds. They are nature or relaxing piano and classical style sounds and the speaker is a bit tinny. The FM radio is okay so I will be using this instead.
The time is nice and clear and I like how the light slowly increases as the alarm goes off to slowly wake you up. You can choose sunrise and sunset colours.
There is a USB on the back which I find most handy as you can charge your phone up on it but it does not support fast charge.
Setting the alarm is easy and you can set weekday and weekends – you then get to choose your colour and then what source and I like the radio. Its quite a large clock so it might take up some space on the bedside table.
This is a lovely night light, radio and sunrise clock. The colours are nice and bright and the sunrise feature is a fantastic way to start the day.
It’s easy to set up and set the alarms and tune the radio. If I’m nit picking I would have liked to have seen a remote control incorporated to save having to get the light down off the shelf to change the settings.

My nan current alarm clock had given up the ghost so she was in desperate need of a new one. When I saw this, and got the opportunity to review it, I knew it would be perfect for her. This alarm clock is truly superb. Out of the box it is a decent size, and the clean white design would look great in any home. It also came with recharging cable, and a UK plug. I switched the clock on, and a warming light appeared around bright bold numbers. Alarm clocks I have seen in the past usually have bright red harsh numbers which are super bright at night. This alarm however, emits a warming ambient glow, which should help you drift off, rather than keep you awake. It is very easy to use, and by simply pressing one or two buttons, you can set the time and your alarm. The clock is also programmable for volume, so that it isn’t too loud, and it has a radio function which is just what my nan was searching for. As for the light, it is a bonus feature that not many alarm clocks have. It ranges from gentle and dim all the way to bright, just like the sunrise. It is a beautiful clock, and my nan loves it. If you are looking for a new alarm clock, then this one is one of the better ones you will find. I highly recommend it. 5*

I definitely recommended but it’s not easy to use.
Took a bit to sit down and ready the instructions. but once you get used to the functions and placements of the buttons it was easy to get going. the light can get very bright on the sunrise function so check out the brightness of the light settings.
I ordered this sunrise alarm clock hoping it could help me with S.A.D that i seem to suffer from when the dark winter nights come around, the clock has quite a few buttons and it does take a while to learn what each button is used for but i soon got the hang of it. The clock has a large face and has many different mood colours to choose from which makes it great fun for kids to use. The brightness level can be adjusted to suit which makes it ideal to use as a night light as well.
I managed to find my local radio station and the sound quality was pretty decent i have to say although some serious tuning was needed and i did find the minus volume control button to be quite temperamental as i had to keep pushing the button quite a lot to be able to lower the volume which it didn’t seem to want to do.
I liked the fact you are able to set two alarms, this is very handy for selective days of the week and the snooze button was very welcome! The nature and music sounds were relaxing to listen to, i especially liked the bird and ocean sounds but this is just a personal preference
Something I did notice was when the clock was at 3:01 (see pic) the 0 would not go full circle so to speak, there was a line missing so it resembled a G, this bothered me hence the 4 stars. Overall a good little clock but some issues were experienced.
This was my alarm clock for today, it did wake me up but took a while to do so as it isn’t very loud.
It does have some good features such as the FM tuner, good selection of lighting and a little digital clock on it. The antenna isn’t great for receiving signal though and I found myself having to move it around a lot and it would just crackle when I let go of it.
All in all it’s a decent night light, an ok alarm clock but a pretty bad antenna.
Would recommend this but only if you live in an area where the FM signal is good.
This unit is well presented with good packaging and a USB power adapter included (well done!).
The construction quality is good and the machine is quite good looking. It’s easy to control and the audio quality of the sound effects (sleep/wake sounds such as waves, birds etc) and FM radio are adequate and fine at the price point. The light itself is very effective when operating and offers good brightness and ranges of colours. I like it! 🙂
The clock is fairly large in size, packed full of features and easy to use.
It has a good range of music to help soothe you to sleep and the light is a nice way to wake up in the morning.
The instructions are obviously a translation from another language but are still understandable and setting it up isn’t too bad.
The time is clear to see and the alarm works as it should.

When my partner started having to get up at 5 to get to work at 6 it was not easy for us to adapt that change in our routine because we are both night awls. in other words we would be more likely to read until five in the morning than waking up as such ungodly hour. Getting dressed when it was still pitch, donning multiple layers of clothing to keep the damp and the cold at bay when our bodies screamed for a few extra hours of sleep took a lot getting used to, until this clever “rising sun machine” came into our life. This light that gradually grew in strength, accompanied by lovely sounds evocative of nature waking up, would slowly penetrate our sleep in a well paced crescendo until we would weak up at the right time and in a good frame of mind. This waking up experience was so pleasurable that I, who did not need to get up until much later, could wish my partner good morning with a smile, turn round and immediately go back to sleep. So I warmly recommend this product to everyone. Everyone, that is, who can make sense of the singles printed on the box to make the damn thing work. In our case it was a 4th year PhD student who was staying with us at the time, who being much younger than us and very gifted eventually managed to set it up for us. Eventually however my partner timetable changed and our friend having left us by then, we tried to set the alarm for a different time but failed; so what we are left with is a very expensive silent electric clock / mobile charger. Do you think I should ask for my money back? I would like it better if they included a decent instructions manual in the box.
Gorgeous little piece in my bedroom. I am just so happy with this purchase that I can finally have everything needed at bedtime at one piece next to my bed without having to mess my bed side table with lots of stuff. I am a minimalist. It has Lots of very useful options. The fact that you can adjust it’s light (even the colour of light) is absolutely fantastic. I’m going to order for my mum as well for mother’s day.
My son loves it, very easy to operate, my son did the time setting himself, he selects his favourite rainbow colour and music for his sleeping and he sets his own alarm, I don’t need to wake him anymore now in the morning!

I’ve had one of these for a few years and I love it. I set the light to be on when my normal alarm goes off and it makes life a lot easier waking up on a dark winter’s morning. No complaints at all, does the job.

It has a great range of light settings. I particularly like that you can tune in radio. The best bit about is that its incredibly easy to set as the instructions are clear.
How can one small light make such a difference in the morning. I am NOT a morning person at all and my alarm startles me every morning and makes me grumpy as soon as I wake up. I have only been using the sunrise alarm for 1 week but getting up in the mornings is so much easier. I love the different colours you can set it to in the evening. Very relaxing.

I am so pleased with this device. It does so many things in one — I was curious to see if it could replace my many alarms and if it could help me wake up less tired as I’d heard good things about alarm clocks that can mimic the sunrise. I can safely say I’ve used it for almost a week now and I can see a lot of of improvement already. I would recommend others who struggle with their sleep to try it out!

The sound of ocean waves is very helpful for sleeping which is perfect for my husband, he loves to hear it. Also the whole design of the lamp is very fashionable and the details are well designed.
This clock is a pleasure to look at and a pleasure to wake to. As another review mentioned it is too lightweight. I have bought curtain weights and glued them to a glass coaster then attached the clock to the combination with Velcro. A small improvement.
Nevertheless I wouldn’t be without it.

The clock wakes the girls gently by lighting the room like the sun rising and playing natural sounds like birds tweeting.
The sea waves sound effects are absolutely fabulous. The girls love to listen to this to settle them off to sleep.

This a a very user friendly alarm clock with a TON of functions! The lamp is very bright when lit up to wake up too. There are 2 separate alarms so you can split your days. The user guide is simple to read. Took me less than 5 min to set everything up. I do wish the white noise section had just white noise but there’s an ocean and birds and a song or two. None of which are my personal preferences but still fun functions to have. Excellent alarm clock!
I was amazed with this sunrise alarm clock, I was just kind of interested in a clock that would just wake me with light but as it turns out that is just a small part of what this clock will do. This sunrise alarm clock has multiple features besides the light effect.
It is nice being gradually woken up by the light; it is far more gentle than an abrupt alarm. I really like the fact you can adjust most every setting, from brightness, to sound and sound levels, and I really like the fact that it is a multi-use clock and sound machine, definitely makes more room on the nightstand. The colors are so warm and comforting I have the light on as often as possible. Definitely would recommend.
