Gravity fed hot water system
This system has a cold water tank in the loft or in the top of the airing cupboard and a hot water cylinder below it. The water in the cylinder is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater and fed to taps via a pipe from the top of the cylinder. As the hot water in the cylinder is used up, it is replaced with cold water from the tank above, which in turn is refilled from the mains water supply via a float operated valve. System water pressure is usually low. To give a higher pressure and flow rate from a mixer shower a booster pump can be installed.
Gravity fed hot water system with Booster Pump
This system has a cold water tank in the loft or in the top of the airing cupboard and a hot water cylinder below it. The water in the cylinder is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater and fed to taps via a pipe from the top of the cylinder. As the hot water in the cylinder is used up, it is replaced with cold water from the tank above, which in turn is refilled from the mains water supply via a float operated valve. System water pressure is increased due to the addition of a Booster Pump.
Unvented System
An unvented system has a hot water cylinder that is connected directly to the mains cold water supply and there is no need for a cold water tank in the home. The water is heated by a boiler or an electric immersion heater. As everything is under the pressure of mains water, the flow rates from taps and showers are much better and a pump is not needed to get a powerful shower. An unvented cylinder can be installed virtually anywhere e.g. in an airing cupboard or garage.
Combination Boiler
A combi – boiler can be located anywhere within the home. More often wall mounted but some are floor mounted. It heats water ‘on demand’ when a hot tap or mixer shower is turned on. Connected directly to the mains cold water supply at high pressure there is no need for a hot water cylinder, cold water tank or shower pump in the home.

Triton T80gsi Electric Showers 8.5kW
1) It is connected from mains water supply and has no internal pump , If you want to install it on gravity feed you must get external pump to provide adequate water pressure from 1-10 bar.
2) It is quiet almost no sound, all you can hear is electric coil buzzing and water spatter .
3) Don’t know why people are complaining about installation, if you putting in different type of shower different holes must be drilled, however it is easier to connect unit to water from the left .On the right side is not much room but it is possible.
In conclusion it is reasonably priced, simple and does the job well . I am happy with this product .

Basic but good shower. Bought because fed up of MIRA overpriced rubbish which kept having issues and expensive replacements.
This is going strong, no issues whatsoever, and uses standard (so cheap to replace) hose and head.

Bought as a replacement for same unit that failed after 5 years use.
This was bought to replace an old and failing triton 8Kw model that had given good service. It fits well into the same space as the old one and I was able to wire it in the same way, so no problem there. Plumbing it was a little bit more involved but it was nothing to write home about. Hot water is back, and Im out of hot water !.
Disappearing leak.
When first installed there was a water leak but when came to replace the shower the leak had disappeared.

The model sent was the most up to-date. unfortunately the diagram shows an earlier type and the new one allows no provision to change the wire loop. ie) casing is a different shape.

I bought this product to replace my old shower unit which stopped working after 17yrs!!!!! The original shower was a redring zeta digital but was expensive to replace. My plumber recommended a Triton and for the price I am happy with it.
Overall was happy with the shower but fitting it to replace an old electric shower was not the simple job you are led to believe. Space for the pipework is quite limited.
Easy to fit as a replacement. Clear instructions. Provides a good hot shower. Shower riser does need to be fitted with extra screws to make it really firm on our wall. Have used it for 5 months. Happy with purchase.

Great Shower, the flexibility to switch the cold water entry point makes it very easy to fit. Took about one hour to replace.

Bought to replace a Triton Forte. This T80 is a big improvement. More pressure, despite both being 8.5kw.
This is powerful shower ,we went for 8.5 watts because it is cheaper to run,better for the environment. And I like the amount power the water comes out at ,for a 8.5 watts .you need to have different electrics on a higher watt.no need for power shower.I feel lovely and clean and refreshed .ta

Why not buy a Triton?
Triton in my view always do what it says on the tin. I have 4 now (diffrerent models) and all work well, thus only buy Triton these days
We are loving this shower. So much better than the last one. It looks great, pretty powerful for a 8.5kw and it keeps the temperature steady continuously unlike our last shower. The shower head is great too, looks cool and has good functions on it to switch the water flow.

Not bad
Seems a good bit of kit, it would have got 5 stars but this was supposed to be interchangeable with my previous Triton, however there were different fixing screw positions so a bit of drilling was needed.
A short shower hose seems to be the norm which to my mind is a crazy, so get a longer one from ebay and have a comfortable shower without having to be a contortionist.

Arrived within specified time and packaged well. Plumber fitted and works perfectly. Used my old showerhead on this one though as the flow wasn’t very powerful with the one supplied.

I bought this to acheive better temperature control than the Zante 9.5 kW shower I had previously.
Installation was quite straight forward with no problems.
Most importantly, I’ve got the improved temperature control I wanted.
I ordered it on Saturday afternoon for delivery on the Sunday.
It arrived at 10am on that day. Amazing service.

very decent bought to replace an earlier triton jade. Its a shower! but very flexible fitting options ie the water can come in from left or right and various ways of getting the power in. 2 small issues- the rail to hold the shower head is much shorter then the original one- so we kept the earlier on up save filling holes. Also its small than the shower it replaced so new holes were needed and it didn’t complety cover the holes left by the previous shower- but hey!
