Is it any good yes? Am I impressed? Not really

If you have never had an iron with a boiler then of course you will be impressed with this. I have always had a polti iron so essentially the two are very similar. My iron is just as efficient, probably better if I have to be honest with you.

Before this I had the fridja steamer which I had to return due to a fault it did work well however even in short bursts it lost pressure quickly. This does not happen with the tefal at least not as fast.

As promised it works well both as a steamer and an iron. As soon as I got it I tested it on t-shirts, shirts jeans, blazers etc it performed pretty well on all of those and worked best on t-shirts ironing both sides at once. Unlike the fridja u have the option to press your clothes and fold them.

The water runs out quickly but it’s super easy to fill it’s hardly a bother.

Another good thing about the tefal is that you can also use it horizontally this comes handy when you want to straighten out your bedsheets however I have not tested this yet.

If you don’t have an iron and don’t particularly like ironing this would be a good option it does do both. The problem would be only when ironing sheets as the board is pretty small for large items.

If you already have pressurised boiler iron you don’t really need this imo. Would it make life easier in certain circumstances? Yes! It’s easier to get this set up than getting the iron and the board out. For example if u want to use it just for a touch up u could just get the unit out and steam the garment on a door. Rushing out and what u need isn’t ironed? This will do it in a jiffy.

Now, I probably haven’t worked out the most efficient way of using it because it’s different from my previous steamer so my opinion might change as I get used to it. It’s a good buy but I’m not convinced yet. I’m sure it will come in handy for difficult garments and for ironing without too much preparation which happens to me a lot as ironing is one of the chores that gets pushed back a lot.

Powerful steamer – many uses, apart from clothes.

This steamer is Powerful, and gives extra steam boost when steaming clothes. It does a decent job and you can quickly get through laborious shirts in no time.

While its clothes steaming abilities are enough to give this steamer a 5 star rating, it is no one trick pony. You can actually use it for curtains and many upholster tasks – not only to remove creases, but also to sanitise and freshen.

Overall, an expensive bit of kit, but we’ll worth while when you discover how it can be used in many areas of your home.

This Tefal cube steamer/Iron is amazing. It has made ironing so much easier and quicker work of straightening out clothes than a standard iron and board does. So it could genuinely change your life if you’re battling a large weekly pile of shirts, jackets and school uniforms. The instructions were clear and easy to understand

This is really multi use the best for both between a steam generator and normal iron. It can be used as an upright steamer or used as flat iron. the iron itself is much lighter, so it’s really easy to move . Its steam function is more powerful than on a standard steam iron, so you hardly feel you’re ironing at all, It santisises your clothes, bedsheets and furnishings as well as smoothing your clothes, it kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria . The finish on my garments was professional, clean and crisp with little effort . I then tried the vertical steamer on sofa, curtains, my baby items, it was super easy to use. Not too many buttons so not complicated.it heat up quick just in 70 seconds. it is extremely stylish , It is very simple to use with basic button and a steam trigger under the iron handle . The 1.1litre water tank is easy to take out to fill and fits back perfectly . . The water tank is to one side and to the other side is where the iron head hangs. It glides easily and a very long steam cable. The steam button is on the under side of the handle. It also comes with a brush attachment It’s just exactly what you need if you are often stuck with large piles of ironing and little time to do it. Highly recommend

I hate ironing. I’d better hoover all the house twice than iron my son’s school uniform or hubby’s shirts. First of all, it’s ridiculously boring, secondly it requires standing upright for prolonged period of time plus some bending to replace freshly ironed clothing to wrinkled one. Not good for my back at all.
No wonder, I prefer steaming. Have had several handheld clothes steamers over the past years. All had their own advantages and shortcomings. The main minus in all of them for me is leakage. I don’t know why, but all the steamers I’ve had had this exact problem. Hot water drops were leaking sometimes when I used steamers not in upright position, but in more convenient position to get the results needed. Plus, I did get a few steam burns.

This Tefal garment steamer is the first steamer I used, which doesn’t leak. The water tank is separated from the “iron head” and the cord is connected securely. No usual issues. The water tank is quite large and doesn’t need frequent refills. Basically, I load is needed to do my weekly steaming. I mean, boys’ shirts, trousers, bedding. I also steamed my curtain once and was quite happy with the results. The tank can be filled by simply putting under the kitchen tap. It’s easy to clean it as well.

I’d say it’s more a hygienic steamer cleaner rather than iron. I would agree with other reviewers, that it is quite difficult to iron greased clothing with it, when the clothing is hanging. However, when you use an ironing board, you can’t place the iron on it, not enough cord length and too big and heavy water tank. So you would need to bend several times in order to reach the iron. That’s not very convenient. A few parts of the steamer get quite hot in a process, which is understandable, so be sure to be careful not to burn yourself.
As for the quality of steaming, I could only praise. Clothing wrinkles melt and disappear.
The steamer does the job. It kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria (I hope that awful Covid thing included). I used it to steam soft toys, pillows, duvet, mattresses. My OCD mind is happy. Very fresh feeling. You could add a few drops of essential oils for some lovely smell.

Overall, high volume, good pressure, nice hygienic steamer. Good for sanitising house, steaming clothing. Not so good for ironing (you do need ironing board for the best results).
Quite expensive (just below 300). Might worse it if you have lots of suits, uniforms, dresses that can’t be washed in a washing machine, only dry cleaner is needed.

No regrets at all buying this. I save so much time easy to use it’s there at hand all the time no setting up an ironing board for me anymore.
I’m so impressed doing hubby’s shirts now.

I was worried how big this garment steamer would be when it was delivered, but fortunately it’s just very well packaged! It is about the size of a large cereal box, but a bit wider. It’s lightweight too, a bit heavier than my stick vacuum cleaner so easy to carry.

I have used many garment steamers over the years whilst at work, for steaming textiles like curtains and bedding. This is the best I’ve tried. For the compact size it is powerful yet relatively quiet. I have tried it on both synthetic and natural fabrics and it works really well, even on some heavy velvet curtains. Velvet can be a bit of a pain to iron, you need to iron on the back and a set of 228cm wide curtains takes ages! But with this it was really simple and took just 10 minutes with little effort to complete the job. I placed the steamer on a stool so that I could reach to the top of the curtains with the steamer head due to the length of the hose, which isn’t really recommended, but it was fine. The steamer heats up really quickly and is ready to go. I always start from the bottom so by the time you get to the top it just gets easier as the steam has risen up the fabric. It works well too on clothing, of course you won’t get the crease lines and sharp collars you might want on a shirt though. I also use this on bedding, to steam the mattress to keep it clean and fresh, then make the bed and steam the duvet cover and pillows once they are on, so much easier! The boost function is great, just be careful as it’s really powerful, you don’t want to be too close.

Other reviewers said they found parts of the steamer got really hot. They do, a little, and of course the appliance is going to be hot so you need to be careful, but generally I find I use it for just 10 minutes at a time and apart from the steam head it never really becomes a problem for me. I hate ironing, so for me this is a convenient alternative that has the added bonus of cleaning and sanitising fabrics I can’t wash like upholstery and mattresses. It won’t replace an iron because it’s not meant to, but for anyone who doesn’t want to spend the time ironing or finds it physically hard, I think this is a good alternative.

Unfortunately I live in a house that already has condensation problems and we run a dehumidifier through the winter, so I will limit my use of the steamer to when it’s really necessary. Previous steamers I have used have either been handheld or taller so that the steamer head can be set down a little high up. It would be great if this steamer had a retractable pole it could rest on a bit higher up, but other than that I’m really impressed – It’s the first steamer I’ve used that doesn’t leak!!

It’s the perfect balance between quality and performance. This garment steamer has a capacity of 1.1 liter, and it steams the clothes so well that you will be mistaken that these clothes have been professionally steamed. Its so easy to use and is super quick. It not only steams but sanitizes the clothes at the same time and kills 99.9 percent of viruses and germs. Its super handy and useful with kids around. now I can steam the formal coats and dresses at home, without spending a penny on the professional services. It’s a onetime investment and saves you a lot on the daily expenses. And not to forget the time and hassle.

The Tefal cube UT2020 High pressure steamer is very easy to use. The steamer has approximately 300 cm or just over 9 feet Power cable length. The steam flex hose that attaches to the steam head measures approximately 170 cm or 5’7″ in length. Both the flex hose and power cable come with Velcro Cable ties to keep everything neat and tidy. The Tefal cube has a removable 1.1 L water tank, Which can be filled by your tap. I read through the instruction pamphlet before using, which was informative and easy to understand. The steamer takes approximately one minute before it is ready to be used. The steam iron head has a button to release the steam, But when pressed three times consecutively it will boost the steam from 90 g to 200 g of steam. The Tefal cube steamer has a stand attachment which the steam iron head sits in when not being used. The steam iron head has an attachment that has brushes on it. The cube steamer has an anti scale alert, Which when required to discale press okay. The unit will go in standby mode after eight minutes of inactive use and if not used after 38 minutes will turn off. I have steamed and sanitised mattresses, sofas, coats and many more things as it kills 99.9% of viruses, bacteria and germs according to the description which is perfect for the current pandemic circumstances. I have tried ironing with this which worked well but took a little getting used to compared to a conventional iron, Because how they are held. The other small issue is having to bend down and replace the steam iron head back on the rest when having to manoeuvre garments, But is perfectly fine if you don’t have lots of ironing to do. Overall works very well and creates lots of steam. I hope you have found my review helpful.

The Tefal Cube UT2020 high pressure garment Steamer is lightweight and compact. It has a 1.1 litre water tank which is easily removable from the unit and can be filled with tap water. Once switched on, it takes just over a minute to heat up and is then ready to use. It’s very portable and easy and quick to sanitise curtains by holding and moving the handset (which is also lightweight) against the fabric. It puts out plenty of steam and I was confident that it was doing its job of cleaning the curtains. I would have no hesitation in using this steamer to sanitise other household fabrics as it is so portable.
To use the Tefal Cube as an iron, you need to get your ironing board out. Although it would smooth out fabric from thin, lightly creased clothes if they are on a hanger, it won’t work for more creased clothing so it needs for your clothes to be laid flat on the ironing board and then the handset to be used as you would a normal iron. The hand set also cannot be left on the ironing board whilst you move the clothing around, it has to be placed on the bracket at the side of the unit. This takes a bit of getting used to but, once you have, it makes short work of getting through a pile of ironing even though it is a bit more work to set things up initially. The water in the tank lasts quite a long time so you don’t need to refill it very often. Although the Tefal Cube is very effective at ironing clothes, it is a bit of a hassle to set it up — using a conventional iron is less bother.
The description of the Tefal Cube says that it is proven to kill 99.9% of viruses, bacteria and germs on fabrics and I am really happy to use this for keeping household fabrics clean particularly in these COVID times. The unit is well made and looks like it will last a long time. Tefal is a well-known, reliable company and although it is a little expensive as an initial purchase, to me, it seems worth it to keep things around the around the house clean without using chemicals.

Tefal Cube is a steamer that is built to sanitise all textiles throughout the house including curtains, fabric sofas, cushions, soft toys, bed mattresses, rugs and so on. It’s not just an iron with steam.

This is a professional grade high pressure fabric steamer with over a litre water capacity tank and 2170 watts of power. Steam is know to be the most powerful sanitising method that can kill 99.9% of germs, bacteria and viruses without any harsh chemicals so it’s a 100% natural eco friendly way to ensure that your home and loved ones are safe.

On a normal press of the trigger it releases a 90g of steam that is very high power for everyday use but with steam boost it goes up to 200g which is a massive amount of steam.

Black & Blue combination looks very nice indeed. It is also a fully equipped steam iron that is very lightweight and easy to use. We got through a heap of garments in half the time it normally takes. My wife has this shirt that was most difficult to iron as you could never get rid of creases on it as shown in one of the pictures I have uploaded but with this steamer most of the creases were gone with just steam. Soleplate is non stick and glides on the fabric with no efforts.

Overall Tefal has built a compact sized professional grade streamer that only professional laundry cleaning shops offers. Now I can steam clean my 2 piece dress suits, curtains etc at home. It used to cost a lot of money to get these things steam cleaned.

I am very impressed with the quality and value for money this steamer offers. I am rating it full 5 stars as there is no negative about it.

Professional grade steam cleaning all around the house not just ironing.

I’ve waited a week or two before review, purely to make sure I’d made a reasonable enough set of choices to use this excellent appliance on first time and put it through it’s paces adequately, knowing my choices would also consume what I thought would be a fair bit of time, but time was not an issue given the way this unit worked so efficiently. In simple terms, it’s an iron, with a clever design to work on awkward sort of items as well as the stuff you can put on a board, attached to a hose, which in turn provides a steam cleaning/pressing function from a small reservoir of water sitting in a small, sturdy ‘cube’ tank. I actually understood ‘TEFAL’ to only produce cookware before this, so this was a pleasant surprise in light of the company’s fine reputation (No – I’m nothing to do with them, just that they’re trusted), You put water in the reservoir, which is cleanable and it even tells you when there’s a calcium build up so it won’t clog up or lose effectiveness, because it allows a thorough cleaning if you follow the instructions as directed. A simple three light setting system, showing a maximum capability through to eco and normal is what to look for, depending on what needs most attention and my first use was on a set of bedroom curtains (good grief they needed a going over), two suits and a cloth headboard. The resuts were outstanding, they smelt as fresh as the day they were bought, looked smart again and wrinkle and creases free. I’ve a lot of suits, smart dry clean only trousers etc. and the money I’ll save on the dry cleaning alone, makes this terrific machine worth the price without a doubt in my mind. Also finally, a small tip, when steaming suits/clothing, add some decent fabric refresher (don’t go mad) to the water reservoir and it makes clothes smell lovely. If you follow the simple instructions which are easy, you really can’t go wrong so well done Tefal (I’ll look for other stuff now too and well done Amazon, for having the foresight to stock items like this.

    The steamer is absolutely wonderful.
Took all the creases out of a new shirt that had been packed like a man’s shirt.
The iron part is also excellent – tried out on some very creased trousers.
My old steam generator has just “died” – this will be even better.

  22. AlannaSkyiouzl says:

Wow! Well, this is just brilliant!
With this steamer you can quickly steam blast pretty much anything that can harbour dirt/germs – and not just clothes – you can do your upholstery, curtains, fluffy toys – all the stuff you can’t wash easily.

I’ve always wanted something like this, and with it saying it removes 99.9% of bacteria, viruses and germs, there has never been a better time than with what’s going on at the moment.

The unit is smaller and more compact than I expected judging by the size of the box, which is good when you’re short on storage room. The water tank heats up amazingly fast (about a minute) and holds just over a litre – and with that, you get over a hour of steam time!

The iron part of the steamer is a lot lighter than my usual iron and makes easy work of steaming curtains (of which I might add, came up a treat!)
The cord attaching the iron is generous too (3m), meaning larger objects can be sanitised without dislocating your arm or much repositioning of the base unit.

This delivers a massive amount of steam at high pressure. It’s very efficient. You only have to refill after an hour or so and that even includes when you’ve used the steam boost button.
It can also be used as a standard iron, but I’ve been concentrating on items that are a pain and cumbersome to clean, such as curtains and toys.

There are 3 steam settings so you can adjust it to suit various fabrics – from heavy duty to delicates.
I’ll be giving my wedding dress a once over when I’ve got through everything else.
This is also going to be super-useful for giving my lad’s school blazer a quick blast once he’s returned in September, rather than having to wait until the weekend to wash it.

Sure, this is expensive, but it’s so efficient and really does do the job.

This is a simple to use and fairly compact pressure steamer that works very well at removing creases and (I assume) killing anything that can’t handle 100C temperatures.

It consists of a small 1 litre chamber you can fill with water and a hose to a diminutive iron head. It’s just like using a lightweight steam iron (albeit one that the steam is constantly applied).

It heats up quickly (just over a minute) but does use over 2kW of power, so it’s like running a kettle all the time. That’s what makes this a double-edged sword. If you need a steamer to remove creases regularly (such as leaving clothes in a tumble drier when it’s finished or for delicate hanging fabrics) then it’s ideal. I found that in the humid summer we’re currently having it was rather unpleasant to use, steaming me up as much as the clothing. Once you’ve got the humid house, items take a little longer to dry too.

It’s a wonderful machine that really does what’s asked of it. I just wouldn’t like to use this as my main iron too.

Delivered in a huge box I was worried but needn’t have been .

This Tefal Cube UT2020 high pressure garment Steamer was in a smaller box inside its transport box .

Before I start I’ve got to say I HATE ironing with a passion ! Me ? I’m the type that will choose drip dry materials and non crease washing cycles . This garment steamer has changed my mind .

In the box the steamer unit is black and blue in colour , because it’s made from plastic it’s lightweight , it has a handy carrying handle . The lead running from the unit has a three pin UK plug on it .

On one side of the unit there is a lift out water tank this takes 1100 ml of water (1.1litre) . I live in a hard water area and want to prolong its life so filled it with distilled water .

The opposite side there is a small head iron which has its own bracket tray holder .

This heats up really fast just over a minute and it was ready to use . The pressure is up to 5.8 bars which isn’t far off what’s used in a dry cleaners , meaning the steam comes out fast making it really efficient .

Steaming hanging clothing is a lot less intensive than bending over an ironing board . Although you can use the iron head to iron the traditional way although the irons head is smaller and it takes longer to do .

The boost button helps remove stubborn creases . I’ve honestly never had so much fun decreasing clothes . Filling the tank once gives 80 minutes of steam .

What I love about the cube is that it’s so hygienic , it removes upto 99.9% of bacteria , so it could in effect be used on any item that has material toys clothing and upholstery . This is a consideration for parents and carers like myself .

I like the added feature of an auto shut off which turns the machine off after a period of inactivity .

It’s made by Tefal , so although it’s quite an expensive initial outlay , you do get a guarantee and they are easily contactable if you have any problems ( I speak from previous experience).

In the time we’re currently living in , being able to feel confident you’re killing germs is priceless . This Tefal Cube is a great solution for keeping your clothes and your loved ones a little safer .

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve had cheap clothes steamer for couple years now and I really liked the concept of it, worked well for our needs, however a lack of ironing board on it meant that I needed to go back to usual iron to iron bedding and larger items. This Tefal steamer has now fully replaced the normal iron and ironing board! Steam output is great and much better than the old one I have. It’s so quick and efficient. The iron head holder could be a bit more sturdy, but it’s totally fine. Love it!

Love it!

It’s a good appliance but it doesn’t replace a good iron table. It’s fun to use and it does make ironing quicker. But, if you’re very picky about your ironing, this isn’t for you!

I really really like this steam iron. You only have to press each item on one side, so it cuts down the time your spending ironing. You can use it vertically by hanging the item on a hanger on the hook. Or place it down horizontally to iron in your usual ironing position. The board is not the length of a usual iron boards but it’s ok. Also you can remove the tank from the housing and use it with a conventional ironing board. The cover on the ironing board adds to the pressing system. I think it’s well worth the price.
