The steam iron that stops scale stains for ultimate ironing results

Only Ultimate Pure features the patented MicroScale filter technology, a two-in-one innovation that stops scale* and produces pure steam for ultimate ironing.

Here’s how it works: steam, polluted by limescale in the steam chamber, enters the filter. The filter captures the smallest of scale particles** and produces filtered, pure steam – so, you can iron without the worry of scale staining your clothes.

Switched from Philip to Tefal as my last iron would leave stains on white clothes. Will have wait for a year for this one to prove its worth. Good for now.

Having had a steam generator for many years , after it broke , I decided to go back to what I call a traditional iron. After using it the first time , I was concerned about the weight in my hand , after 5 minutes though , I was really enjoying using it , fantastic performance , smooth and excellent results , only downside is remembering to adjust the temperature and also having to fill the iron with water . Overall though , glad I changed and it was an excellent price on opened box deals

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI decided to invest in this iron as the last (much cheaper) iron I bought only lasted 15 months. I don’t do a tremendous amount of ironing but I do a lot of sewing so the iron does get switched on and off a lot. This is a lovely looking (purple!) substantial iron and on the small bit of ironing I have done it worked well and I especially liked the steam boost feature. My only criticism is that it is quite heavy but I am sure I will get used to this!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is well made and reassuringly heavy without being too unwieldy. It works well and the cord length is very good.

My only complaint is that, as with all steam irons (of all price ranges, and I’ve tried many) for some reason, occasionally water will fly out from the front of the sole plate and dump blobs of water onto whatever you’re ironing. It seems to happen when you twist the iron, but it doesn’t happen every time. You’d have thought that in the 21st century they’d have been able to stop this from happening, but it appears not. Otherwise a good iron.

When the iron was delivered I wondered if it was a reconditioned iron but netherless plugged it in and it was a lovely iron BUT it has now packed up on me and following tefal support problem solving the iron is unusable less than 5 months old

Purchased to replace our old iron that was no longer performing to my wife’s liking. She has raved about it since. Happy wife-Happy life so they say.

This is a serious piece of kit, ironing is now so easy , it just glides through it.
I now love ironing, never thought I’d say that.

I’m really pleased with this iron, bigger soleplate than average iron, produces plenty of steam, glides easily over my laundry & removes all creases with ease.

Bought it only because it’s a well known brand. It was for my Mrs. It’s good looking – i would say giftable only it came in smashed box… But iron inside survived with no scratches. She’s saying it’s alright. Does the job , warms up quickly , 2nd month no problem so far. Yes , would buy it again . But if it would be gift for someone – it would go back . Coz box wasn’t presentable

I read the reviews on this product before purchasing, I go through so many irons I wanted one that lasted. The reviews on the whole were quite mixed so here is my take on the product! The iron is quite heavy in comparison to other irons but once it is in contact with the fabric it is smooth running and does take out creases on linen and cotton that are dry without the use of either extra steam or the spray! the spray button is indeed under the handle and having read that this is a nuisance I was ready to expect the same however within seconds I had forgotten it was there altogether! It does go through water but then the steam is creates is what makes the iron as good as it is.

    I would highly recommend.

The iron glides daily. The water holding is much larger so don’t have to refill when doing a lot of ironing .More expensive but a quality iron. A good purchase .

I’m 65 and this is the best iron I’ve ever had. It does what it says and literally glides across clothes. My ironing time has been reduced by half. Nothing is too much for it, the turbo steam is a bonus. It’s not a lightweight iron and wouldn’t suit some people. It was certainly worth spending the only on.

By far the best iron I have bought!!!
I used to always struggle to use an iron and my clothes would be stained or burned! This is the easiest iron I have used and leaves my clothes crease-free!
It works with tap water only which is really convenient.
The only drawback is that it is a bit heavy and my hand gets tired if I iron for a long time.

This by far the best steam iron I over owned by Tefal. Had an old Tefal iron which lasted me years, so I decided to upgrade and went with a Breville. Boy, was I disappointed. What a rubbish make. Went back to Tefal and best decision I ever made.

The iron itself has a bigger plate and bigger water tank. Steam function is faultless. Sometimes you don’t even need to press the button to activate steam – does it automatically. A 3m cord is an absolute bonus as well.

Very lightweight iron, I especially like the filter because you can clean it when you get the warning light no fuss just easy to do, also very quick because of the high wattage, disappointed with the packaging the box and the polystyrene was smashed inside the paper bag luckily the iron was not damaged not very happy when I have spent 84.99!!!!!!!!!!

Great iron. We needed to get a new one as our old iron gave up after a few years of good service. But this iron is another level! My part of the ironing is the bedding (who irons bedding?!)…anyway it does a cracking job on our bed sheets etc, super steam power and all that. Strongly recommended.

Really good iron, everything functions really well. Big water tank so you don’t have to refill often. Comfortable grip. Long power cord. Overall I would highly recommend it.

My first thought was that the iron is heavy and I wouldn’t want to do an hour’s ironing with it. However, it is a very effective iron and easy to use. I’m very pleased with how it leaves the finished garment. Perhaps the weight helps?

  24. UVSShannon says:

Overall the iron does the job adequately, irons well, uses tap water whereas my previous used distilled water, has a calc filter to collect the limescale, a nice long cable and the design is modern.

The downside is that it is quite heavy although manageable, the turbo boost button situated under the handle is easy to operate but it does get in the way when you do not want to utilise it. The spray button although large and well positioned, it is not so easy for me to operate it as I have arthritis (not severe) in my thumb, whereas my previous steam iron had a small button so easier for me to use. Again because of my arthritis in my thumb the extra steam control button is difficult for me to continually hold across whilst ironing even though you only use it for short periods of time. Also as mentioned in other comments, it does occasionally drip water on the garment being ironed. I do consider it quite expensive for an everyday steam iron so if I did not have arthritis would I buy this model again, although not a bad iron, probably not.

Quick to heat, easy to hold and use, reasonable weight but it does leak onto ironing at first contact with every use. It settles after this but it is annoying . At first I thought it just hadn’t heated enough but it’s not that. So far none has left a stain and dries with more ironing.

Superb iron that’s not too heavy but capable of dealing with heavier materials with ease. Only gripe is that for the price you’d think Tefal would include a water jug/fille

I just used the iron for the first time yesterday.
It is quite heavy when full of water.
I used it for approximately 4 hours and you have to fill it up with water every 20 minutes.
Please don’t be put off buying one of these irons as they are amazing, it takes no or little effort to use, the steam is amazing and can handle any creases you put it’s in the way. The iron it’s self is 5 star as I said at the beginning the only thing is if you have weakness to you arm’s you may struggle to use it.

No complaints about the iron, its very good. Disappointed with the delivery packaging though, there was no Amazon box. It was delivered in original Tefal box, which had become badly damaged in transit. Half the internal polystyrene packaging had fallen out along with the gtee and instructions. Luckily the iron was undamaged and is excellent.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this iron to replace our Philips Ultra Glide which had started to trip the fuse box!

I hate ironing, I really, really do, but I like nicely pressed bedding and clothing. We don’t have room for a steam generator so I wanted the next best thing which I think this is.

The Tefal is a lot heavier than my previous one but it doesn’t really feel it when I’m ironing, even when full of water. The plate glides over the clothing and makes such light work of the piles of clothes and bedding I have to get through. It feels like the ironing takes less time too which is can only be a good thing. I like the extra length cable too.

I wasn’t too impressed with the packaging. For such an expensive (IMO) iron the box was not sealed, the plate was unprotected, and the polystyrene was broken. Although I don’t want piles of excessive, non-recycle-able packaging but I do want my purchase to be protected from damage.

I sent the first one back believing it to be a non-new item. As well as the packaging, the plate had lots of pitting which felt rough to the touch which were prominent enough that they could damage/snag fabric. The plastic body also had scuff marks. The replacement was packaged the same way, down to the broken up polystyrene but the plate was in better condition, not 100% perfect.

One simple press is more than enough for cottons to straighten it up. So easy to use, so effective. It took me less than 10 minutes to iron a t-shirt, jeans and a shirt. And also it looks like a cool spaceship so perfect for single guys haha. Highly recommended

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFantastic iron, makes everything look brand new! It is quite heavy so people with arthritic hands/wrists will find it hard to use. Great steam output and glides over all fabrics like a dream. The cord is nice and long, just over 3 meters so no messing around with extention leads. I had my last Tefal iron for nearly 15 years so I am hoping this one lasts just as long if not longer.

I was sceptical as the price is a lot for an iron and my old, broken braun iron was pricey and absolutely rubbish! Well – I’m proven wrong. I can honestly say that I don’t have one bad thing to say about it except that it’s made me realise I’ve hit middle age as I’m so excited by it!

A great iron but beware the weight. Even when not full of water this is heavier than other irons. I could see it being too heavy for some people

Great Iron, had my eye on it for a while, then my basic iron packed up on me and needed something ASAP, this came up on a prime day deal so took advantage and I’m very glad I did, it is a bit heavy so if you suffer with arthritis or similar it’s probably not the best choice for you, putting that aside it has great features and the steam output is powerful. It looks smart and gets my vote. I had an issue with packaging from Amazon but overall the product itself is fantastic.
