Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe Thermos Stainless King Food Flask arrived quickly and I am very pleased with my purchase. Now I can keep my own home cooked meals warm, saving zillions on those tasteless supermarket sandwiches. There is plenty of space inside and the provided spoon makes it a well thought product. Considering that it comes with a fifty years warranty (50 yrs!) I would say I have found a permanent solution to the office lunches.

I bought this for my wife. I’ve had mine for over 2 years and use it daily and its still going strong. Leave to soak for a couple of hours ever few days with a weak bleach solution inside and its clean and as shiny as new. I’ve tried a number of flasks over the years for my soup and nothing can touch Thermos King. Just get one and don’t bother shopping around for ones that will leak or go cold quickly or break.

I have the 470ml version of this. Holds a perfect amount of soup for a good meal / tea for a couple of people.

I have made tea at 7am in the morning and drank it piping hot at 1pm in the afternoon.

Its a good size to fit in a bag and carry.

The only downside is the spoon that comes on the top of the inside lid does tend to come off a little too easily. This is really not a big deal I would still absolutely get another.

This is an excellent buy if your fed up of bland sandwiches or cold lunches.
I brought this two weeks ago and have been using it every day since. On the first day I done as it says, heated it up for 5 mins with boiling water and then added in my warmed up soup, 6 hours later when I went to eat it it was as hot as if it it just come out of the pan and I had to leave it open to cool down for a bit.
After that I skipped the pre heating because with a soup if you only need it hot for about 6 hours you don’t really need to pre heat it. Without a pre heat it’s still very hot.
This week iv been pasta and have been pre heating for a few minutes with just hot water from the tap and still works pretty well.
I was initially worried about the size but it’s big in enough for one generous serving of food.
The best lunch item I have ever purchased. Only downer is that the mouth if the thermos is a but narrow, so have to be careful putting food in and makes it a bit tricky to scrub the very bottom of it ….but this is a small price to pay for what you get.

I could not be happier with it. I have bough 3 of these flasks as I am currently on special diet and need to bring my own food everywhere. I use them daily, wash manually. Food is still piping hot after several hours – just don’t forget to pour hot water first to warm them up and then content – if you want to keep it hot. I am eating every 3h and after soup being in the flask for 9h it is still warm. Spoons are of good quality, same with overall built of the flask. I travel with my flasks everywhere and even cycle with one, they have never spilled even if transported upside down or on a side.

    Fantastic purchase

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy son decided that he wanted to start taking soup in for his lunch at school. Instead of trying to pour and eat soup from the standard tall/skinny flask, I decided to look into the wider, stubbier versions and went with this one. It’s a little more expensive than some of the flasks, but I think the extra couple of pounds seems to be worth it. I’ve not had any leaks, and the vacuum is maintained. My son reports that the soup is still hot after 4+ hours, and it’s his favorite colour. Bonus: it comes with a spoon, so it’s a nice, compact unit. The flask seems to be built well, and lives up to the Thermos brand hype. I’ve read elsewhere that the rubber seal has been an issue. Truth be told, yes, it does come off sometimes while cleaning (by hand), but it goes back on fine, and holds it’s seal. Overall, if you’re looking for a decent flask for eating, rather than drinking, this hits the mark.

This was for my fussy eater boy who only likes hot food and hates school dinners. Keeps food hot for hours and holds a good portion size. I mainly use it for soups, stews and pasta and it’s not disappointed once. The integrated spoon is great and keeps everything together in a neat little package. Top quality. Only little niggle is neatly getting the food in the top but this is probably not helped by my rushing to get it done each morning.

I REALLY wanted to like the equivalent Stanley Food Flask more than this one… BUT THIS IS MUCH BETTER! It’s lighter, smaller but contains the same amount as the Stanley. The absolute best part is that you can take the inner seal off it to clean the lid properly, and it doesn’t ruin the vacuum like it did with the Stanley!! A lifetimes guarantee means nothing if you can’t get the parts in this country. BUY THE THERMOS!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersUsed now for four months for work lunches, 2/3 times a week. After pre-warming, keeps soup hot from about 6-6.30 until i eat it just after noon, and would probably keep it warm enough longer. The capacity is enough for lunch for one, or perhaps two with a roll to share.

Contains space its folding spoon, so once the soup is readied and the lids are on, lunch is self contained in a reasonable small size, reducing clutter in my bags and on my desk.

This + home made soup = 5-6 lunches for only 1 or 2, so the flask has paid for itself many times over.

All metal exterior, I have one small dink in mine now, but performance has not been affected.

Overall impression is high quality, with a nice solid shiny external finish, and metal interior.

Keeps only certain kinds of food warm. Any type of food that is closely packed such as rice, pasta, soup, sauces or mixed dishes such as rice with sauce or pasta with cheese sauce etc. Does not keep many other typical food that we take like bacon, egg, nuggets, sausage, pastry, grilled meat, grilled vegetables etc.

So, if you want to have a warm meal you have to take food that the food flask will keep warm. Not the one you want to take. You have to decide if this is worth buying.

Only certain type of Foods are kept Warm - Beware before buying.

Such a shame the lid got jammed which seems to be a fairly common problem in the online community. Unfortunately not your usual locked lid locked scenario which can be released with hot water / oil / rubber band. We tried resolving this with Thermos customer service but they have completely ignored our email for 5 days.

Edit: Customer service rep Sara sent a replacement product. Glad it was sorted out after 2 weeks as the product is perfect for winter months.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersInitially I thought it was rubbish as the food was stone cold after just 3 hours. It was only then I read the one star reviews and saw a few customers had the same feedback. I had just about written it off, but thought I’d try a different approach. So this time I heated the food on the hob, instead of the microwave, scalded the flask before I filled it and it worked a treat!! Food was perfect temp 4 hours later, happy days. I haven’t tried it any longer than that as don’t need to. I never leave reviews but thought this brilliant wee flask deserved one, it’s brill ;D!!!

Good, durable product that is easy to clean. It loses a star because I found it didn’t keep my food warm for very long even though I filled my flask with boiling water beforehand, I maybe got about 5 hours before my food was more tepid than warm. This is fine for most people but as my shifts work, I don’t always get lunch at a set time so sometimes it was annoying. Other than that I can’t complain!

Having been stranded overnight in my car one winter, after the A14 in Cambridgeshire was completely blocked by heavy goods vehicles which had “jack knifed” on ice and snow, I have never left home without hot food and drinks, together with warm clothing and a car rug. Thermos flasks and food containers form an essential part of my emergency supplies.
They also offer the means of a cooling, refreshing picnic stop in the summer.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThermos is a premium brand and this is a premium product. However one thing I have noticed that the nine year old boy user of this product does order a varied selection of food he can take into school. Because he is in a hurry to play football sometimes he does not eat everything in the thermos, as a result there are remnants at the end of the day. When I questioned him about this he said “Im not good at digging down to the bottom” perhaps Thermos might take this on board and design a shorer design for school kits meals, a moulded divider also would be useful to keep the Katsu curry source from soaking the chicken and rice on the way to school lunch. Lovely product, well made and beautiful, everything you would expect from Thermos

After trying lots of flasks that did not keep the food warm I tried this one. It’s brilliant. My soul after being heated with breakfast is usually too hot at lunchtime. Also used for pasta, rice, chilli etc. Doesn’t keep them quite as hit but still got enough to eat at lunchtime and the opening is wide enough to be comfortable to eat out of. Also love the flexible spoon, easy to eat with, easy to clean and fits well in the lid. Only issue I have is trying to open the tub at lunch, the vacuum is so tight that I struggle to open it. Would be better with an air release button. Other than that, I recommend it.

Heat it with boiling water for about five to ten minutes with lid on whilst I really heat through my food. I’ve had thin and thick soups and COus cous in it, soup hot, cous cous warm bit soup was filled to too cous cous wasn’t so I was expecting it not to retain heat the same. I fill it at 8:30 and lunch about 13:30 so very pleased and would buy again.

Great flask, I work as a carer so spend a lot of time travelling around and have no access to microwaves for heating food. So this little flask is fantastic, will hold a full can of soup and have even put pasta in it. One recommendation I would definitely say is to pour boiling water into the flask for 20 minutes or so before you put the hot food in, this way I have found it is still a good temperature 6 hours later.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is the best product I’ve bought for ages. I bought it as my kids needed hot food at lunchtime at school. Sandwiches weren’t been eaten. Hey presto as soon as I bought this, all food was eaten, which meant less grumpy tired children at the end of the day. I bought one initially then I bought another one as the other child requested one as well. I’ve so far used it for pasta and sauce, chilli with rice, soup, meatballs. Keeps it hot and still steaming when it comes out. Has resolved the packed lunch issue and children not eating anything.

I have several Thermos products already in red, so for me I was just hoping for the same quality. I Tested by filling it with piping hot soup at 930am and I ate it at 1630pm, at first the top spoonful was more than warm but not hot, by 3rd spoonful I burnt my mouth. So tip, when you do open stir if you can the contents.
Love the spoon, wide opening top and easy to clean. Going to buy one each for children now, highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBought this to save some money on lunches as the office complex my work is based in have very kindly decided to remove all microwaves from the communal kitchens (something to do with fire safety). So to save me having to go out every day and spend 3.50 on a Boots meal deal I bought this so I could heat up soup or leftover chilli etc. at home in the morning and pack in my bag for lunch.

The quality of the product is great – nice and shiny and all moving parts like lids etc. clip neatly and satisfyingly into place, nice and tight – no leaks or accidental spills. You can also choose from a variety of colours – I went for gun metal grey (because I’m hard), and it has a nice finish.

The claims thermos make about keeping food warm for X amount of hours should be true – I usually package my soup at 8AM and have it by 1PM, it’s as hot as when it came out of the microwave 5 hours later – haven’t tried it for longer.

So why 4 stars and not 5? Simply because of the size. Now I know that I was aware of the size when I bought it – 470ml. This will fit a tin of Heinz soup in, but if you want to go a bit more upmarket – Cully and Sully’s, or Covent Garden Soups – forget about it and buy a size up. I feel that this smallest size would have been a bit more useful if it was just that bit bigger – after all the next size up is 710ml which seems a bit on the large side, especially if you want to drink directly out of the flask like I do.

    Absolutely love my food flask!
Keeps my food hot whilst I’m at work. I get up at 7:45am and sort my flask out & then I eat it at 12/1pm dinner time and my food is still hot. This is brilliant especially now the cold days/nights are coming in.
Before I put the food in the flask I fill up with boiling hot kettle water, I leave the water in for either 5 minutes or 15 minutes depending on how long I have on a morning. I also microwave the food before putting into the flask.
I have had no problems with it at all, I am a very happy customer!

First tried today, put in the contents of a heated, full tin (400g) of chunky soup, and added extra veg, which filled it to its capacity.

From other reviews, when they said keeps food ‘warm’, I was slightly concerned because I like my food hot to eat and not just warm, so was worried what the temperature may be after so many hours. I put my chunky soup in, piping hot at around 6.45am and ate at 1.15pm, I can happily confirm that it contains the majority of the heat.

If I had any criticism it’s would be to make the size of it bigger for those with larger appetites, but holding a full tin of soup is great for me.

It may seem a lot to pay but this is something that I will use most days and is more for convenience because I don’t want to have to heat my food up at work.

Had it for a day and already used it. My husband took some hot soup to work and said he loves it. It kept the soup hot, the spoon is strong with a good size and there were no leaks. It also looks quite nice and sleek.

All in all o recommend this to any one that wants to take soups with them. I haven’t had it for long so I can’t speka too much on its durability. What I can say is that it seems very durable and being someone that has other items from the brand I have no concerns.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought for my sandwich-hating, alphabetti-spaghetti loving son for summer picnics. It takes a standard tin of spaghetti (or soup or beans) and after prewarming the flask with hot water kept it piping hot from breakfast to lunch. The fold up spoon works well for eating straight from flask. The red finish on the outside scuffed fairly fast but hasn’t affected function.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersGreat capacity, keeps food warm and does exactly what it should. However the spoon is for right handed people. If you use it left handed and apply any sort of force the spoon collapses due to the direction of the folding parts. Makes it tricky to use.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought 2 years ago and this is how it looks today, the paint has held up greatly considering I throw it in my bag with my keys whenever I use it. I just ate Bolognese I heated up at 7:40am, it’s 3:30pm and still steaming!!

I use mine for soups, chilli, Bolognese, rice, pasta, noodles, I even put freshly cooked sausages into it to make a breakfast bap at work! (The sausages only kept warm for 2 hours, but we’re still piping hot when I wanted to eat them)

It fits any normal tinned food which is very convenient, a helpful tip is to preheat with boiling water to help your hot food stay warmer for longer.

The folding spoon is very convenient, would be difficult to use if you’re left handed but otherwise flawless. Still stiff and holds its shape after 2 years of use.

Haven’t tried it with cold foods yet but I’m confident it would be perfect for salads, fruits, smoothies, oats and more!

I’d highly recommend this for students, school lunches, work and travel. It’s dinky size is still enough to fit plenty of filling food, definitely a meals worth!

    glad I made this purchase

Great little thing! Kept my food warm even after 6 hours.

    Pros:
    – easy to wash
    – leak proof
    – keeps food warm even after 6 hours (I expected it to be cold by then)
    – comes with it’s own spoon

    Cons:
    – the spoon is difficult to use. The joints reposition every now and then so you’re better off packing your own spoon and only using this when absolutely necessary

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI love this thermos and everything about it. I make a lot of rice + chilli style dishes and it keeps them hot at 12pm after they’re heated at 7am.

I bought an Emsa one previously but it was poor. My food was lukewarm by lunch, and the lid vacuum sealed itself and broke.

NOTE: Food flasks work best when filled as close to the top as possible, with limited air above them. This one is the perfect size for a nice lunch portion in the afternoon, so don’t worry if it seems small. If you’re concerned, fill a Chinese tub with 470ml of water and see if you think that looks enough.

NOTE2: I boil my rice in the morning and fill the thermos with boiling water in the meantime for 10 mins. I’ve noted when I microwave food instead it’s not quite as hot, but still a perfectly nice temperature bordering on warm and hot and I enjoy it still. Definitely preheat the thermos though, and have a long spoon.

This flask is every bit as amazing as the reviews say! Despite being a big fan of reviews and generally putting a lot of stock in reviews before purchasing anything from Amazon, I was slightly skeptical that it was that good. Sure I assumed that being a thermos flask it would keep food warm for some time.. but 10 hours?

The first time I used it was for travelling with baby on a long haul flight. I heated up some food in the microwave and transferred it to the flask – with the expectation that I would have to ask the flight attendants to heat it up again for me. When I opened it, a good 10 hours into my very very long journey, I could see the steam escaping when I twisted the (inner) lid open!! Needless to say, the food was still piping hot, and I even had to blow on it to cool it down before feeding baby.

Can’t believe I can get so excited about a flask!

Thanks for that amazon! Bought this for my husband who works outside all year round. He heats up whatever left overs we have left from the night before, places it in there and boom! Nice hot food for his lunch. Honestly, he gets up at 4:00am and eats his lunch at 12:30 and the food is still that hot he has to wait before he can eat it. Some kind of magic going on here i’m sure of it…Best results: place boiling water in there for about 5-10 minutes before placing your hot food inside. This really does make all the difference in keeping the food hot.

Keeps food hot until lunch time. Not big enough for two but comes with a very handy spoon.

My only gripe is that if its hand washed, it retains the flavour and smell. Yesterday I had chilli, today I put green tea in there as I had brie and pickle sarnies (thanks Mr B) and my green tea is laced with chilli. Even though it says you shouldn’t put it through the dishwasher, I do. It doesn’t get ruined and you can get rid of food smells easy.

That being said, my Jasmine tea is ruined but I do really quite like the flask.

Great item, as described, keeps my soups very hot for lunch. The container needs to be warmed up using boiled water keeping its lid ON for 15 minutes; empty the container before pouring in your very hot meal if you want your food to be still hot 6 hours later.
A bit frustrating if you want to eat straight from it as the neck is a bit narrow and the spoon quite small for an adult… I always pour the content in a bowl. Teenagers have no complains though.

I purchased one of these before choosing to buy another in a different colour.
This flask is small enough for a childs pack lunch for hot food which does stay hot for up to 7 hours. I love the strong sturdy steel foldable spoon which is in the lid which is a great help. For longer lasting hot food, it does recommend putting boiling hot water into the flask for 10 mins and seal the lid before putting hot food in. Just throw away or put back into the kettle to save water, dry and put in your hot food. My kids love it.
Yet to try the cold but if the hot food stays hot, I’m sure it will do the same with the cold.
    Would definitely recommend this product.

This is all I could buy that would keep water hot that I could hold with smaller hands.Should have checked the actual volume first, but kept just the same as is usefult to me.Easy to hold ,too heavy in flasks higher in water weight,as grip not easy with these without handles.Does keep water hot, well,as described,so would be fine for soup etc. .Why oh why did Thernos not design smaller volumes with handles.Only 1.2 liters, now sold for longer keeping hot water in,as did for years! Different volumes are often needed to keep liquids & food hot for longer than the so called ‘new’ designes,& cools quicker.Being made out of GB seems a backwards step if all like these.More establised & useful designes lasted well & were so much used,& re purchased.Must have been made too well,as not made now. Please Thermos, bring back 1 liter,& 750ml.flasks with handles that keep hot for 24hrs.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersNice small and very handy piece of kit, it states it will keep food hot for 7 hours, I prefill with boiling water for about 5-10 minutes before hand as suggested by the manufacturers then I replace the water with hot soup, after 4 hours the soup is still quite warm but not hot enough to burn you, you could drink it straight from the flask without burning your mouth.

That said, a normal sized tin of soup does not fill the flask to the top and maybe if it did this would make it stay hotter for longer.

I hoped all the good reviews were true, and they are. I contemplated buying a cheaper food flask but after reading all the poor reviews regarding cold food and leaking vessel I decided to trust the “you get what you pay for” mantra. This thermos flask Is excellent and worth every penny. It doesn’t leak (I bike to work so it is a bumpy ride!) and after 5 hours my soup is properly hot, steaming and easy to eat with the cool collapsible spoon that fits into the lid.
    Great product would definitely recommend.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this to take soups to work with me.
I pre-heat it with boiling water, put my soup in at about 8am, eat work in the cafeteria, and then come 6 in the evening, I have my soup. When I open the flask, the soup is often still too hot to have straight away, and I have to sip at it, or leave it open for a while.
Supplied metal folding spoon which is stored in the lid is a very nice feature, although I prefer to use a plastic spoon, and eat directly out of the flask, as the mouth is wide enough for it. This also helps with cleaning.

I like this shape of flask for food, and because it fits well into my backpack, as good as the taller style for hot or cold drinks.

The spoon, and the lid and cup are all easy to replace directly through Thermos. Top quality flask.

Keeps my food nice and warm. The drier the food the less heat is retained by the time I go to eat it, but it’s never given me cold food, maybe at the worst luke warm and even at that it was 7 or 8 hours after it had been filled. It is a perfect size, and even a full tin of soup leaves space at the top. The spoon is very handy as well since it folds up and sits in the lid. I’ve had problems in yhe past of trying to work out where to put spoons etc and what to do with them once I was done with yhem since they would end up sitting in the bottom of my bag and end up getting lost.

Better than expected. Following the instructions (with an extra pre-swill of boiling water before the actual 10 min pre-heating) my thick soup is steaming hot 4 hours later. I’ve microwaved the soup so it’s very hot when put in the flask, and sometimes the top surface of the food in the flask has cooled slightly – not steaming but still hot after 4 hours, but the flask really does its job. I eat it straight from the flask, but take my own non-metal spoon to avoid that metal-on-metal noise.

I recently embarked on a healthier lifestyle plan and quickly became very bored of eating salad every lunchtime at work. It was the only thing I could think to eat that would give me my veg intake. As the colder months crept in, the salad situation became dire. Pulling out all my recipe books for inspiration, I found a long forgotten soup book. Perfect!

I set about investigating the best flask options. It was harder than I thought with so few offer sufficient ‘stay warm’ periods.

Then I found this Thermos. I was struck at first by the vibrant red option, a glistening cherry red – my favorite colour! I was half tempted to buy it just for the colour; but with the promise of keeping my soup hot for 7 hours, the deal was sealed and a couple of flasks made their way to my shopping basket.

I have used my flask everyday and am continually impressed when I pour out my still steaming hot soup each lunchtime.

If you buy this, you won’t be disappointed.

Thermos Stainless King Food Flask – 470 ml, Cranberry Red

I purchased this for my husband to take hot soup and pasta to work instead of cold sandwiches. It is a nice compact product and the foldaway spoon is a good idea. The flask however, does not keep either pasta or soup piping hot, even though we put boiling water in it for 15 minutes as suggested, before adding steaming hot soup or pasta to it. I did expect that this brand would keep everything really hot, but we are a little disappointed with this product, as after 4 to 5 hours the contents are at best only lukewarm.

Great product! At last I can carry a warm lunch to the university. Its a really good, sleek thermo-flask. I use it to carry my soups/curries which can be a much more interesting lunch than just having a sandwich. Although it looks small, it can fit quite a big quantity of food, although I am not sure if this quantity of food would be enough for an adult male or someone who likes to eat that little bit more. The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is that it holds the food warm for a shorter time than stated, I would say it holds my food warm for around 4-5 hours. But othwerise I am very happy with my purchase.

I was looking for a flask that I could use at my work to give me a hot meal during the winter months. My initial thoughts we’re that the flask looked tiny, but appearances can be deceptive as it actually stores a decent amount of food.

Now for the big test does it actually keep your food warm. I have had other food flasks in the past that claimed to keep the food warm for upto 8 hours and I have been majorly upset when I put my fork in expecting the food to be piping hot only to find that its actually luke warm. Anyway I tried a left over portion of bolognase and the great news is it was piping hot. I also really love the fact there is a small foldaway spoon that fits in the cap saves you have to take any cutlery. 10/10 for me.

I like this flask. Came in a ridiculously large box but at least there was no chance of damage. I use it to take soup to work to have for my lunch. I put boiling water in the flask at around 8am and the pour that out and put the soup in around 8.20am. The soup is at a comfortable temperature when I want to eat it at 1.00pm but any longer than that and it’s a bit too cool.

I would say that a large tin of soup keeps warmer this a small tin of soup in identical circumstances, probably because there is more airspace left when the flask is closed.

The spoon is good and there are no spill ages. One criticism I do have is that the inner kid can be difficult to grip hard enough to open when the flask is full.

Having used the Thermos Stainless King Food Flask – 470 ml for a few weeks now i can write this review. It is a very well made product and works as described. I use it to for my lunch (office). I simply warm up my food in the morning around 7.30 for couple of minutes in the microwave and at the same time pour hot water in the flask for two minutes. Then when the food has heated I replace the hot water in the flask with my food and that’s done. I usually take my lunch at around 12.30 – 1pm and the food is still nice and warm to consume. For those wanting the food to be piping hot, forget it you are just not going to find a product that provides that, not that I know of anyway. To summarise I am very happy with the product and I’m very glad to have discovered it because it saves me from cold sandwiches and expensive salt filled lunches from the shops! I will be using this product lots during this winter. (love the folding metal spoon)

Brought this for my son for school use. I knocked one star off as it states it is blue but it’s the darkest of dark blue! In actual fact we all thought they sent us black by mistake it’s only when you put it near sunlight you can see a tinge of blue. Would have been nicer if they stated it was a midnight blue colour. Anyway that aside we have used if for a couple of months now and all seems to be good with it, I reckon it works best for liquids more so than pasta (for which my son uses it for) but he says it’s still warm by lunchtime. Arrived quickly and well packaged.

One of my best winter hiking gear discoveries, along with a similar product for beverages. It is SO nice to be able to go out hiking in the freezing cold and be able to have a breakfast of hot oatmeal, or chicken with roasted sweet potatoes. I pre-heated it with hot water as per the directions in the morning for the chicken, and it was still warm (not hot) when I ate it for lunch in the afternoon. For the oatmeal, which was too hot to eat when I first put it in, it was still piping hot by the afternoon even though I did not preheat with boiling water. I find this piece of kit to be a pleasure to use because it is so well designed — the spoon design is brilliant, as with the spoon holder, and you can use the top as a cup. I also find it to just be pleasing to look at (does that mean my tastes run utilitarian?) and not too heavy or bulky for even my tiny 9L bag for day hikes. Absolutely have recommended it to everyone in my hiking group!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this flask as I wanted to be able to take hot food to work for lunch. I read the (glowing) reviews prior to buying and can only say that they`re spot on. This is a fab little flask, which keeps your food hot for ages. I suppose it depends on how long the flask & food is heated for prior…but I fill it with boiling water (while making my morning brew) and leave it until I leave for work…so approx 20mins.I then empty out the water & add the heated/reheated food (microwaved) straight away…and it`s good to go. This has kept my food hot for 5 – 6hrs (which is as long as I`ve left it for up to press)
Doing this I can sometimes eat my food/soup straight from the flask…although I sometimes have to use a bowl as the food is so hot.
I absolutely recommend this little flask…it`s brilliant.

Bought 2 for children’s lunches so they could have hot alternative to sarnies. They love them. The flasks are perfect size (fit in standard kids insulated lunch bag); no glass and with an integral spoon (no lost spoons!); easy to wash to. Some people have suggested pre-heating the flask with boiling water for 10mins, but I only do 1min, and the food is still piping hot 4 hours later. As the dregs are still warm 6 1/2hrs later, I can believe, that if full, the contents will remain hot 7hrs. One full flask of food would be enough for an light adult lunch / bowl soup.
The only reason I have not awarded 5stars is that the bottom of the outside of the flasks have started to flake / chip. (But that could be because its in the charge of an 8yr old!)

These are the BEST FOOD FLASKS EVER! So good I have bought three for myself (so I can take three meals with me if I’m out all day) – the food stays hot for a good 8hrs as long as you pre-heat the flask with hot water whilst your heating your food and as long as you fill the flask to maximum capacity. It’s the absolute perfect size for one meal. Fantastic quality – mine have had months of daily use, they’ve been bounced about in my rucksack, dropped a few times and they are still as good as new. Very easy to clean, look good, the spoon is a fab little gadget – good quality, funky, handy and easy to clean and it stores securely in the lid. These are so good I’ve recommended them to friends and bought them as presents – everyone loves them. I’ve tried loads of different food flasks before finding this one and none of them very any good. This one is brilliant. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made!

Awesome bit of kit. It’s solid and keeps the contents warm for around 7 hours. The seal is great and everything feels really well made. The fold out spoon doesn’t feel like an afterthought at all, it’s good quality and easy clean too. The width of the opening really makes a difference, eating a soup straight out the flask is easy and saves on pouring it into a bowl. I currently use it three or four times a week to take hot soup to work, just preheat it with some hot water whilst heating up soup in the morning, then load it up, seal and enjoy when you get hungry later. As it is short and stubby it fits into bags and rucksacks better too.

Cleaning is simple, there aren’t really any overhanging or hard to reach places in the flask so you can get a sponge or brush right into all the gaps.

Overall this is great and a complete no brainer. Just get one and enjoy a hot drink or soup!

Bought 2 from Amazon for both me and the boyfriend, him to use to take to work and me for uni.
We both used ours for soup and noodles and so far it has held up on its claim to keep food hot for 7 hours! Fill the flask with boiling water for 10-15 mins to heat up the chamber, then empty out the flask immediately before filling with food. Food is still piping hot as if it’s just been cooked and we’ve even had to wait 5 mins for the food to cool down enough to eat without burning ourselves 🙂 We haven’t tried the food after 7 hours but I’m sure the food will still be warm.
I will try with some pasta and rice next week! Great investment, saved us both so much money on food everyday, as it’s expensive in London, as well as kept us eating healthy.
Only downside is I bought 2 in the same colour and we confuse our flasks but that was my fault 🙂

Unbelievable flask. I have not used it to keep things cold yet but I have used this every weekend to take shooting with me with hot soup. It is a brilliant size for one large portion of soup which I fill it at 8am and leave outside in the freezing weather and at 1pm it is still too hot to eat. It can be eaten straight out of the flask but I would recommend taking a bowl with you because it just does not cool down in the flask! I have bought 2 more since for friends and they both love theirs as much as I love mine. I have had cheaper flasks in the past but they just do not compare and it is well worth the extra couple of quid for this, I can safely say I will not be buying anything other than Thermos in the future! I can not recommend this enough!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI am very happy about this Thermos – took quite a bit of research to find the right one, but it was worth it. Provided you heat it with boiling water in the morning before pouring your food in, it will keep it hot until lunch. I’ve found that the most liquid the food is (soup, chowder…), the more this thermos keeps it warm for long. On the other hand pasta without a thick sauce, or steamed vegetables will cool a lot quicker and might be barely warm at lunchtime. But I use it mainly in the Fall or Winter so soups, ratatouille and all sorts of dishes with some warm sauce in them will be kept hot for at least 6 hours.

These are expensive but you won’t regret your purchase, because the quality of them is just brilliant and I know I’ll have these for years. I bought two, just in case one of them became tainted, but they haven’t. As long as they are washed properly and the contents are not left in there excessively long, it’ll be fine. Leave open after washing so it air-dries.
The neck of this flask is really wide which is brilliant. The spoon is an excellent design, it is a decent size when unfolded yet it folds up and fits neatly inside the lid of the flask. The whole thing is adequate, yet compact. The colour is really nice too.
My only criticism would be the rubber around the neck of the lid has come off both flasks and I can’t get them back on (they are like rubber bands – quite fiddly), and I think this might affect the water-tight-ness of the flasks. I keep them upright when transporting them just incase they leak.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLove this thermos, keeps my soups almost at the boiling point for over 4 hours, keeps warm for a lot longer than that. The only reason this isn’t a 5 star review is because of the spoon. The inside of the thermos is metal as well as the foldable spoon, so when eating straight from the thermos the spoon scraping the inside makes a sound that is honest to god excruciating. But you know, I just bring a plastic spoon along instead so I’m not too bothered by it.
I still absolutely recommend this product. It is big enough to fit a really large portion, it keeps my food warm, is easy to clean and sold at a great price.

Really impressed with this food flask, ive never been a bread and butter man with soup but do love hiking and was always caught for a good lunch, i put 8 frozen cocktail sasages in this and get about 8 to 10 wedges also frozen, take them out, cook them, and as they are cooking i fill the food flask with boiling water to heat it up, when the sasages and wedges are cooked (using air fryer healthy option everyone should have one) i make some MacDonalds curry a bit watery so it retains the heat and fill up the flask over the sasages and wedges, i went to Glendalough recently, left the house at 11.15 after filling the flask, after getting to Glendalough and walking for an hour and a half i opened the food flask at 3.45 so that’s 4 and 1/2 hours and the food was piping hot still, the wedges weren’t even a bit soggy like i expected them to be, i think the cocktail sasages are a good option because sasages retain heat for a good lenght of time, would really recommend this flask, best buy in a long time!

This thermos flask is the best flask I have ever used. I have only tried it once with a pot of tomato soup. I was on a photo shoot and took it along, the first opening it was piping hot, steam rose from the soup and it was too hot to eat. I sealed it up and came back to it several times over the period of the day – even the last 50ml remained HOT, i had to blow into the flask to remove the steam before having another sip. I didn’t test the spoon out, I just used the thermos as a mug.

    Highly recommended item!

    ============================

Update :: My only criticism of this flask is that it holds 470ml. All the shops sell soup in 500ml packs so there is always some that doesn’t fit and get poured down the drain as I don’t love soup for breakfast!

none the less, this flask remains a staggeringly good piece of kit and I can only assume that anyone complaining about it either has a faulty one; has left the lid off or didn’t boil the contents. I have never heated it with hot water – seems like a fanciful thing to do.

I’ve just screwed the lid back onto my Thermos Stainless King Food Flask and re-inserted the clever little telescopic spoon into the stopper. As I write, the contents of the wife’s piping hot, hearty “Russian soup” (nothing quite like Russian soup made by a Chinese lady…) sits warming my innards. Heated at 7 this morning the soup was just as warm as when it was ladled into the flask. Lunchtime dilemmas and disappointments are banished to the past ; a future of piping-hot, economical and delicious home-cooked grub awaits for my mid-day repasts. The feeling of warmth and well-being this unassuming little flask engenders might even go some way to distracting me from the the unending tedium of working as a corporate drone for a company of faceless, dictatorial bullies. OK, scrub that last bit – but the soup WAS piping hot and delightful!

I’ve recently been entered at the university of Copenhagen, and let me tell you, i spend a lot of time on campus. Now, being a rather poor student, the cafeteria wasn’t exactly a viable option in the long term, having high prices and, unfortunately, a somewhat lower quality. This is where this product comes into the picture. Being able to prepare a hot (and cheap) meal in the morning, and having it hours later, is a true lifesaver on those long days with little to zero energy.

The reason this product worn’t receive 5 stars is due to the fact that the gasket fell of rather quickly, and hereafter seemed to vanish into thin air. Not to worry though, the truly kindly people at Amazon have already begun shipping a new one.

Overall, i would advise people to buy it, as it’s great to bring to work, school, camping etc. where a warm meal can dramatically improve the day.

My husband get every bored of lunch, particularly cold things, but we have previously tried to put hot food into a thermos flask and been very disappointed with the results. Read a lot of reviews of this food jar before buying, and wasn’t sure it would work as it should, but we are very pleased with the results. You definitely need to prepare the jar with hot water for a good 10 mins before putting the food in, but if you do this the food will stay hot for a good 5-6hours. We have tried chilli, spaghetti bolognese and pasta with sauce and cheese, and all stayed hot enough for my very fussy husband to enjoy. It has changed lunch time for him! Would b another in a flash, well worth the money

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAs the weather gets solder, I looked for a food flask to take warm soup. This looked good so took a chance. The size means it can take a full can of soup with no problem, the foldaway spoon in the cap it a great addition, and the size is perfect.

As with all flasks, pre-heat first if using to hold warm food. I pour boiling water in, seal it up and leave it 30 minutes. After that time, empty the water and fill with your food. I have used the Big Soup in it, I heat it up at 7:45 in the morning and at 1pm it is still piping hot. Make sure you either shake or stir thoroughly before eating, as the veg chunks tend to settle over time and also you can get hotter spots in place. Mixing ensures even temperature and veg mix.

I also tend to heat the soup up a little bit more, and it is piping hot at dinner time, I even have to blow it to cool it.

A great investment that colleagues have ordered one for themselves after seeing it.

Got this yesterday and today I am enjoying a lovely smoking hot soup at work instead of a boring cold sandwich. I am trying to always bring lunch from home in an attempt to a) save money b) knowing what I eat. But it can get a bit boring to always have a sanswich or something cold (a salad etc). I don’t have a microwave in the office, so I looked out for a thermos to allow me to heat up soups and pasta in the early morning and then eat it at lunch time. This product is perfect. I followed the instructions, heated the pod up with some boiling waters for 10 minutes and then poured hot soup in it. This as at 6:30am, it is now 12:30 pm and the soup is still piping hot. The pod fits in a medium size bag and comes with a very handy spoon. I suppose you could ear out of it, but I think it is more convenient to have a bowl, unless you are on the go.

I would def recommend. At it looks really nice too!

I recently purchased one of these flasks for my husband so he could have something warm at lunch now that the cooler days are coming in; as he works outdoors it’s essential to us that the flask we bought is fit for the job!

We followed the instuctions to the book and filled the flask with boiling water and left for 10mins approx. My husband then filled the flask with a “pasta mug shot” mixed with boiling water, stirred and then tightly sealed the lid. Bearing in mind this is done at around 7.00am in a morning! Around 12.30pm the flask was opened and to his surprise the food was piping (yes piping) hot! Absolutely fantastic and I would recommend to anyone who works/spends a lot of time outdoors. Considering buying another one for those winter walks so we can both enjoy a piping hot drink/meal.

I have used this this thermos for 5 months now.
If I preheat the thermos as recommended I found that porridge I made at 6.00am was still nice and warm at mid day, but actually still too hot at 9.00am.
So if I am using it for breakfast I do not need to preheat the thermos.
The stainless steel top became unstuck from the plastic bowl almost immediately, which was dissapointing but not a problem.
The spoon in the lid is a nice idea. However, it is so shallow, that you can hardly get any food on it, so I used a soup spoon instead.

my partner wanted a good food flask for work has he works out side in all weathers duo to being a farmer,he gets fed up with sandwiches every day,so i bought the thermos food flask afder reading the reviews and as the weather is cold he needs something to warm him up,when it arrived i did think it was rather small but it does take a medium size tin of soup,he warmed the flask up first and the soup kept hot for 7 hrs and the spoon is an added bonus it folds into the lid so there is no way you can lose it,the flask is strong and well made,he uses it every day and the sandwiches are gone untill summer,im well pleased with it.

I bought this as it is coming into winter and fancy the idea of taking soup into the office for those cold winter days. As a trial, I put boiling water into the flask around one morning, I checked the temperature of it 6 hours later and it was still warm. Had this off been soup it would most certainly have been warm enough to eat still at this point. I replaced the lid and left it again, this time I forgot about it and ended up emptying it the next morning. I was expecting the water to be freezing by this point, but to my surprise it was still luke warm nearly 24 hours after I put the boiled water in.

I have since taken soup into work and it has stayed lovely and warm till lunch time (and I had a late lunch on that particular day) and I have taken in cold couscous which stayed nice and cold till lunch time. I would highly recommend this to anyone… well worth the money and definitely keeps food hot or cold without any problems at all.

This has revitalised my lunches at work..hot warming healthy soup at work, despite the lack of a microwave at work.
It works a dream..tried two cheap versions before and cold disgusting soup at lunch..
I fill it with boiling water at 8am and screw lid on to warm thermos while I heat my soup in microwave..I quickly pour hot water out and put soup..at lunchtime my soup is so hot it burns my mouth..excellent!!! Toasty feeling..it is still hot at 2pm..the fold up spoon is handy eating at my desk too..
Considering buying one for my boyfriend..bargain..don’t bother with a cheap model..this does an excellent job and lasts!! Very recommended!!

I am a builder,(have been for twenty two years as it happens)and this is quite simply, without a doubt the BEST DAMN FLASK I have EVER bought. Over the years I have bought all sorts of food flasks and they all have been utter rubbish.Fill this with hot water and let it heat up while you prepare your dinner(about 5 minutes}then put your lunch inside and it wiil stay HOT all day.You do have to fill it up to the brim though as any air gaps will make your food go cold quicker.Hot chicken dinner with gravey, curry, even noodles. If you work in the cold outdoors you need this in your life..NOW!The only gripe I have is that it’s not BIGGER.
