Really nice looking pressure cooke
I love the look of this pressure cooker and because of the two handles it is a lot safer to lift . I have used pressure cookers for years, so I’m not new to pressure cookers. It took me a while to master this one and I am pleased that I have. The safety features and locking lid are great. The only thing I have an issue with is why have they put black arrows that match up with other arrows on a black surface. I found it quite difficult to find these at first. My eyesight is good.
hat it takes much quicker to cook
use it for everything.they are brilliant keep all the goodness in.
Great for cooking dry beans and chickpeas
I use this exclusively to cook dry beans and chickpeas as it saves so much time when using a pressure cooker instead of a standard pot. I like that it is stainless steel inside as I try to avoid pots with a non stick coating. It is easy to use and works perfectly. The 6 litre size is great although I would like to buy a bigger one next time so that I can do some canning with it.
Pressure cooke
I’m a big fan of the Tower products and normally they are very good. I ordered this pressure cooker and it works well and I’ve had no problem with it. It’s not something I use all the time but when I do the food is enjoyable.
Love the quality and look of this pressure cooker, like the handles they are easier to use if the pan is heavy
Under pressure
This is a stove top pressure cooker with a touch twist lid locking system. The pot looks very smart in a sleek black, and is large enough to easily make a meal to feed a large family (with leftovers).
It works by putting your ingredients inside the pot (e.g. potatoes), making sure there is enough liquid (e.g. water), putting it on the stove (gas/electric all appear fine) and then locking the lid on. With the lid on pressure builds in inside the pot cooking the food much quicker than just having it in a normal pan. It is worth noting that pressure cookers can be dangerous and explode if there is too much pressure, that is why there is a blue “button” on the lid of the pot which rises (and displays a red colour) if the pressure is too much. Once finished cooking you need to leave the pot to cool down a bit before opening (otherwise the contents might explode over you). The locking mechanism should make it hard to open if the pressure is still too high.
In the lid of the pot is a small time (which is removable), however I personally find this a bit pointless.
I found the food cooked in the pot to be ok — I could not really taste any difference between just cooking in a normal pot.
If you are looking for a pressure cooker than this may be a good choice. However, personally I can’t see myself using the pressure cooker much over a regular pot.
A kitchen essential
I love this pressure cooker. It seals incredibly well and is very easy to use (unlike pressure cookers from decades ago). I’ve used it for a number of things. Cooking soups – it takes no time to cook soups with pulses and other dried foods in it. No soaking required. I regularly use it for steaming potatoes and vegetables. It comes with a steam tray but I had a spare left over from an old pressure cooker and have it set up for two layers – one forpotatoes and one for vegetables. The design works well for me and it’s the first times I’ve seen one with a built in timer. Overall a great piece of kit that’s quickly become a kitchen essential in our household!
It looks great and cooks grea
This is a very nice looking pressure cooker from Tower. I found the cooker fairly easy to use and have cooked some rather tasty meals in it. These are some of the features.
Ideal for cooking everything from rich, warming stews and casseroles to succulent meats and delicious desserts
Two pressure settings and generous 6 Litre capacity, ideal for family homes
Easy-to-use one touch twist lid locking system
Includes 30 minutes timer, steamer and visible pressure indicator
Suitable for all hob types including induction, handwash recommended – 10 years guarantee
All in all I was very impressed with this cooker. It looks great and cooks great.
Pressure cooke
I have a Tower Rapide pressure cooker that was a wedding present 30 years ago. I used to use it a lot for steamed puddings, vegetables, family meals etc. I have a large family with 4 children and it was invaluable.
This one is way way better than the original one I have, this one has 2 handles which makes it easier to pick up (mine had one handle like a saucepan and was heavy to pick up)
The way the lid fasteners is so easy to use.
This one doesn’t do any mad hissing and spitting like my other one either.
I have made a couple of steamed puddings in it and I also made a couple of recipes from the book that came with my other pressure cooker and they cook quicker in this one.
Very happy with i
Superb
Firstly this looks stunning. A definite departure from the pressure cookers of yesteryear. It works well and food is cooked to tender perfection quickly. Other reviewers have said there is leakage but I have not found this to be the case. Can highly recommend for both time saving and a great resul
This is unlike any pressure cooker I have ever known and looks more like a prop from Star Wars than a kitchen item. Sleek black design with no bulky handle (great for storage) and a clever licking system. Nothing seems to get stuck in the bottom of the pan and the clever colour coded pressure valve is great for showing when to start the easy to read electronic timer. The pressure valve also has a safety warning to indicate too much pressure too so no fear of exploding pans! The only downside is it seems to take quite a while to get up to pressure. Maybe that’s me being impatient but I can’t be sure.
Strong and good looking pressure cooker. Fast, powerful and safe. Recommended!
If your memory of pressure cookers goes back o the Seventies and the dangerous looking gadgets bobbling away precariously on the stove, looking ready to explode at any second, then you need to think again.
This is a whole different proposition. Good looking and well built, and q own, this would grace any kitchen. And you can use it as an ordinary pan without the lid, no problem.
But use it as a pressure cooker, and suddenly your kitchen is transformed. Fast and powerful, you can cook meals in half the time. Meat falls off the bones, and food is moist and lovely. And it feels safe, too. No worry about imminent devastation.
Recommended! It will take a while to get used to it, and you DO have to ensure the seals are excited, but with a little practice, you’ll be pressure cooking with the best of them! And loving it!
saves so much time and gas /electricity and tastes so good
A verry good looking pot.I have come to love using my range of pressure cookers , they have the same effect as slow cooking in so much less time , beef stew in under an hour and bbq ribs falling off the bone in 30 minutes !!! its such a time saver it’s rediculous. Think of the gas or electric savings people?
I have an electric one , an old style twist on lid one and now this .It’s very stylish looking in the black colour ,not heavy and comes with the added bonus of a minuit minder on the lid ,a plastic black cover hides all the bits underneath to give a clean look to the top and the handle twists to lock the top for cooking, the instruction booklet is small and details how to use the pot itself but as a guide take off 70% of the cooking time you usually use and you get a good idea.
chick peas cook in 15 minutes! garden peas steam in 4mins
The lid is really the selling point here as it is so much easier to close with a twist , the older style can be a pain to line up and close and this is so much simpler.
If you haven’t tried pressure cooking or have an old style one you should really try this one and the food tastes so much better as it cooks so quickly sealing it all i
Versatile
I have a Tower electric pressure cooker, which has been getting constant use in my kitchen for several months now. I do appreciate the set it and forget about it aspect of an electric version, so how does this compare?
Probably the main immediate advantage is that you can use the stove top cooker as a big pan much more effectively while searing food long before you put the pressure lid on. As you have complete control over the heat the option is to use the pan for as much of the recipe in a conventional manner, before deciding to finish off with the pressure on. Honestly, I’ve started out with the intention of pressure cooking eg some chicken curry and after faffing about adding ingredients etc. I ended up never actually using the pressure cooker function at all.
But you can also be much more straightforward, and throw your ingredients in, making sure you have enough liquid added, put the lid on, set your desired pressure and once you hit that, turn the heat down. Because I’m cooking on gas I do feel a lot more of an inclination to watch it the whole time, whereas I’m happy enough to leave the electric pressure cooker to do its own thing. Maybe that’ll change as I use it more.
Honestly, it’s a surprisingly versatile item, once you get the hang of it.
Very sleek and modern looking.
This is a very sleek and modern looking pressure cooker, a far cry from the one I remember my mother using from my childhood. I have never bought my own as I was always a little scared of the hissing sounds coming from the kitchen when I was young. I do remember thinking as a teenager that the pressure cooker had been around as long as I have, it went on cooking for years and years. This new pressure cooker looks nothing like the one a remember. It looks very modern and doesn’t look out of place in my modern kitchen. It is matt black, constructed from ultra-durable stainless steel with a bonded steel base for even heat distribution. I really like the large ear handles which make it easy to handle during use. It has a 6 Litre capacity, so it is perfect for when all the family come for Sunday Roast. It is very easy to use and comes with an easy to follow instructions.
The lid is very easy to open, since it has a one touch twist locking system. There is a 30-minute timer, steamer and visible pressure indicator. Everything feels really good quality apart from the steam regulator. It feels cheap and flimsy compared to every other part. The pressure cooker is suitable for all hobs including induction but hand-washing is recommended. The timer is easily removed for the lid to be immersed in water. There is very little that cannot be cooked in the pressure cooker, however it is not recommend to cook noodles and pasta, but is ideal for casseroles meat, stews, vegetables and desserts. The pressure cooker cooks much faster than conventional methods which is always a bonus for busy households. My first test with the pressure cooker was a bag of new potatoes. Six minutes after coming to the correct pressure I had perfectly cooked potatoes, and no anxiety of my memories of the hissing pot on the stove.
I look forward to using my pressure cooker to cook all sorts of food, especially desserts and steamed puddings. If this lasts anywhere as near as my mother’s did, it’s going to be on my stove for many years.
This is a nice looking pressure cooker and the main body is a solid and well made bit of kit.
The first pressure cooker we were sent didn’t work — it would not reach a pressured state and it dribbled hot water out the side. Happy to report that customer services were great. A return label was provided & a replacement cooker was sent promptly – so the 10 year guarantee that Tower advertise is meaningful and worthwhile. The second one works fine.
The lid is easy to close & the variable pressure valve easy to set. Once it reached boiling, the initial red valve pops up followed by a blue indicator. The steady ‘hiss-pop’ associated with pressure cooking isn’t too loud or intrusive. There is a small, magnetic, removable digital timer included in the lid — nice idea, but probably not strictly necessary. To try it out, I made a shin beef casserole: it only took 20 minutes at pressure to produce tender meat.
Overall I would recommend this.
Great produc
Our previous experience of a pressure cooker was a basic (no tech) one handle one (very heavy to compensate for weight). This version is so superior – like a sports car to a Reliant 3 wheeler.
The product information tells what it can do. Our experience is that it is easy to use and delivers great tasting food fast. The capacity is big enough for batch cooking – prep several meals and freeze for use later.
Can also be used as pan without lid – so it’s an extra pot in the kitchen and not exclusive for pressure cooking.
No problems experienced with cleaning afterwards by handwash.
10 year guarantee for peace of mind.
Pressure cookers cook food up to 70% faster than conventional cooking techniques, saving time and cutting energy bills. Pressure cooked food retains more nutrients, vitamins and minerals and vegetables retain their texture and meats stay tender.
We’ve used pressure cookers for over thirty years, and the Tower T90126 Sure Touch Pressure Cooker is the latest model we have owned. In the box is a comprehensive, colour printed “Care and Use Instructions, including a very useful “Trouble Shooting Guide” and some sample recipes.
The pressure cooker consists of two parts; the body and the lid. The body two, open grip handles on opposite sides, which make it easy to lift and takes less space to store. Inside the body is a steamer trivet and a 20cm steamer basket.
The lid contains all the working parts, a sealing ring around the inside circumference and substantial locks to keep it in place during use. On the lid are the locking mechanism, the pressure regulator, the pressure indicator and a magnetic, removable LED timer.
Having placed all the ingredients and the appropriate amount of liquid in the cooker and locked the lid all that needs to be done is to set the pressure control (low or high) and put it onto the heat source; all types of hob can be used. Once there is sufficient pressure in the cooker, the red pressure indicator valve pops up. (The lid cannot now be removed until pressure has dropped sufficiently to allow the indicator to drop). At this point the blue pressure indicator begins to rise and, when the red section begins to show, the heat should be reduced until the indicator is just on the line. Set the timer to the require cooking time and keep one eye on the pressure indicator until cooking is complete. Should you inadvertently allow the pressure to exceed the limit, it will be automatically released.
When cooking has finished, the lid cannot be opened until the pressure has returned to normal; this takes about 15 minutes, and you should allow time for this. There are, however, recipes that require an immediate release of the pressure, this can be done by turning the pressure regulator to the release position. Care should be taken as very hot steam will be released. Cleaning is very straightforward, although care must be taken to ensure the sealing ring isn’t damaged. Bothe body and lid can be washed in warm, soapy, water, rinsed and dried. Be sure to remove the timer and pressure
The Tower Sure Touch is very easy to use and takes pressure cooking to a new level.

Firstly the greatest thing about a pressure cooker is that the strength of the pan is super for boiling alone without the function of the lid – then apply the lid and use for super speedy food production- makes stews and veg at high speed and keeps everything super moist – indespensible !
