My son is happy even though it’s wired, I’m fed up paying 100+ for headsets that don’t last long. This one is comfy and he’s happy with the sound and I’m happy with the price
Nice and comfortable to wear don’t hurt sitting on your head for long gaming sessions, easily connects to your Xbox one controller
Only issue is batter life is quite poor and if you’re like me and forget to switch it off after use it’s not great.
The wee slide button to turn them on is awkward as it is switched off in the middle section but on at the top and bottom of the slide so can be fiddly when switching off.
I recently purchased the Turtle Beach Recon 200 Gen 2 headset to use with my Xbox Series X, and overall, I’m quite pleased with my purchase. These headphones are incredibly comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time, which is a major plus for me. The audio quality is also quite good, with clear sound and good bass.
One feature that I particularly appreciate is the flip-to-mute microphone, which is easy to use and very convenient. It’s a nice touch that makes communication during online gaming sessions a lot easier. The controls on the headset are easy to use and provide quick access to volume and microphone settings.
The only downside to this headset is that the audio cable is attached and cannot be removed. This means that if the cable gets damaged or broken, the headset will be unusable. However, this is a minor issue and doesn’t detract from the overall quality of the product for the price you pay for them.

Impressed with the headset, decent sound and option to have feedback on your own voice so you know you’re not shouting in your flat.
Good charge amount, easy to leave on by accident though, but for price point it’s a really good bit of kit.
I use a UK Government computer and am currently WFH.
The supplied official headset lacked volume and the speakers built into the monitor were tinny and indistinct (I have hearing loss). I tried other headsets, but needed an amplified set. The Turtle Beach headset proved to be the answer. Comfortable to wear and good sound. Thoroughly recommended.

Low mic feedback
It has pretty decent sound and it’s good for competitive FPS but I bought it mainly for the microphone feedback or monitoring, and you can barely hear your voice. I expected a bit better in this regard.

I’ve had a few different models of this brand and this is the only one I’ve purchased that isn’t a tight fit on my head, I find them slipping at times. Sound quality is ok however not as loud as the previous generation of this model so that was a let down. Bass is good and I can hear enemy footsteps when gaming so can’t really complain I guess. The cable is not plastic or rubber but mad of some sort of material that is strong like a man mad cloth of some sort so I will not snap the cable standing up an sat on it so happy with that I’ve broken many that way. The mic is really good had to turn it down a bit if I’m honest really clear voice when speaking so happy with that. Ear muffs are really comfortable probably the nicest ones I’ve had an better than some more expensive sets I’ve had in the past. Would have been five stars but being not as loud as the previous generation an not a tight fit lost it a star.
Would recommend perches for the price for sure, I’m happy enough with them.

This is well made and works great on an Xbox Series X. The additional volume controls are great, along with the flip up/down mic.
The headset fits comfortably and seems to cut out external noise sufficiently. Your ears don’t get sweaty or itchy from use.
The powered amplified speaker is a really good touch, ensuring full enjoyment of your games, music, movies or whatever you listen to.
Overall, this is an absolute bargain for 36.99 at the time of review.

fantastic headphones for the money
These are great headphones that fit very comfortably on the head. They are amplified which makes a huge difference to the sound quality especially the base. I’m really pleased with them and I use them most nights for two to three hours.

So loud, they’re noise cancelling, they have volume control of their own, flip the mic up to mute it, high quality build and materials, only down side is that it needs charging but it’s wired, you get 12 hrs out of a 3 hour charge
Good headphones for the price, hurts ears after few hours
The audio quality is decent for the price (I paid 30). The battery life was okay. Only gripe I had was they started to hurt my ears after a couple hours of wearing them. Would only recommend them for short periods of time as they go on the ears rather than around the ears.

Headset is really good, a bit strange you need to charge them and also plug them in but that is for the bass boost you can’t turn off I guess? Sound quality is really good but if you are buying them to play any game with explosions/gun shots then the bass boost is probably going to mess with you a bit. Still fantastic quality headset and can easily hear footsteps creeping around.
I am an adult gamer, I am over 40 and no I don’t live in my mother’s spare room. I am a lawyer and I find gaming to be my release.
I am fortunate enough to have the Series X, PS5, Xbox One X and PS4 pro. I have Steelseries Arctic 9x for the Series X and PS4 Gold headphones for PS5.
What I needed was a little set for the older consoles upstairs, for when the Mrs or kids want the main TV. I have had numerous Turtle Beach sets in the past and I have always been impressed.
The Recon 200 are an excellent set, I was lucky and picked up a warehouse special for 22, so price wise a real bargain; that said I would have happily paid 50 for these.
The sound is good and clear, the spatial audio is as good as you will get on a sub 100 set without real 7.1 support. I was able to hear footsteps approach in COD, and the bass was satisfying for this range.
For long term play, I did find the headband a little cheaper than other similar sets I have had in the past (Stealth X4). I found the cups a little sweaty and a bit tighter than I would have liked for longer sessions, but for me as a second set for a quick 30-60 minute play they are superb.
If you are looking for a set for a teenager, they will be excellent; if you can get them as I did for under 30 you will not find a better headset anywhere.
They work with all current consoles inc Switch, simply by plugging the 3.5mm audio Jack in.
They are powered, inbuilt battery charged via micro USB. They have a good life but note they are not wireless – you will be looking at circa 100 for a half decent wireless set.

SO COMFY
One thing I have always noticed with my previous headsets I’ve owned is that they start to get very uncomfortable after the first hour or so. But with these you can game for 6hours+ without any discomfort the cushions around the headset just make them so cozy. The sound is also brilliant very good for intense combat games! It’s abit of a faff to get the right audio setting as when you’re talking you can hear yourself on the headphones which feels weird. Soon as you get the right volume setting you won’t hear yourself.
I hate it, that you just have to charge them. There is no warning if it’s low. It’ll just die.

I originally brought this for my Xbox one and even after a few months they still blow my mind. The ear cups fit perfectly around my ears and are super comfortable. But please be aware that they do need to be charged regularly which is understandable with the virtual surround sound and other features in the headset and in my opinion is a fair trade-off for the quality you get.
The 3.5mm cable is a nice length, I’ve had no issues with it so far and don’t think I will. The volume controls on the side of the headset are a nice feature and work great.
Overall it’s a great price for what you get and I would highly recommend this headset to anyone!

The sound quality is as expected pretty awesome but…. you have charge the thing independently which sucks. My own fault as I should have read the full description just never considered it, every other headset I’ve used has drawn power from the controller.

Absolutely fantastic.
These are absolutely amazing so far. The audio is INSANELY good. There’s a brilliant level of base, the sound is nice and crisp, and the headset itself is very comfortable. I enjoy wearing it. The microphone quality is very clear as well according to my friends. I do however sound quiet, but I experienced this with my last headset so it may just be me! I would definitely recommend this headset, as it is not cheaply made and it is not super expensive.
Good headphones for a good price.
The build quality of these are really good. You can feel they put in good components into these headphones.
The cans block out a lot of external noise which is great but as my wife found out that means I’m shouting as I can’t hear my own voice.
Only 4 stars because I can’t quite get the settings right for when I’m playing with friends and the difference between the game volume and chat volume. When playing solo you can really hear all around you.
Great headphones for the price
At first, I wasn’t super impressed with these. The sound quality isn’t the best I’ve heard and they require charging despite being wired. However, after messing around with the sound settings in game and with the headphones themselves, I quickly found myself being able to pick up audio cues I wouldn’t normally hear.
These are great for games like PUBG or Warzone when you’re required to listen for footsteps or movement, and you can pinpoint directions with accuracy. Minor complaints are the wire isn’t incredibly long if you want to use them for PC, and you will also need a audio splitter. The microphone itself is my biggest problem, as it picks up almost everything in your room, so even minor button taps or keyboard strokes will be heard over the microphone.
Fantastic but painful wearing headse
The headset is fantastic for Xbox one the only issue is that if you use it for a long time the headset very much hurts your ears. The sound from it though is amazing and it hasn’t actually broken when I pull it away from my controller like my last headset.
Brilliant sound
Purchased for my teen son, has used them for both Xbox and PC gaming and has said he’s blown away by the sound. The mic is nice a discreet doesn’t come to far over the cheek, the sound is clear and other players can hear you well too.
Only snag is you don’t get any warning as to when the headset is low it just cuts off, doesn’t take too long to recharge.

Good quality, comfortable
This headset is very comfortable. It has comfy, soft leather on the earpieces, and padding for the top of the head. the mic switches itself off when stowed up by the head strap. the mic if very high quality and clear and does a good job of not picking up breathing noise. The sound quality is very good too, and sounds are directional, making locating enemies in rng games easy.

Comfiest headset tried
First thing i would like to say is, this headset is the comfiest I have tired, plus the sound quality is great and it looks very smart. My son was looking for a new headset for gaming. To be on the safe side i purchased 2 different one’s in the hope I would pick at least one good headset that will be given the approval from my son. The feedback is, this headset is the comfiest and the sound quality is great. However, I was advised the only downside was the battery charge died after about 6 hours, which at the time interrupted a game. As this is a wired headset, I didn’t think the battery would die. I am sure wireless headset need to charge, so probably no big issue and would just need to manage headset use. I am not going to knock a star off for the battery as the comfort of headset and sound quality makes up for this. Plus, I believe the headset is great value for the price.

Good sound quality, good battery life for longer gamin sessions. Bit of a tight fit although they are adjustable, the headband inst particularity flexible but it does give a snug and steady fit without sliding or re adjusting.

I bought this headset around October time not knowing much about headsets but I went for this one because it was decently priced and had many features. Ever since it’s arrival it’s been superb to use and has not had any issues whatsoever since then as I’m writing this in May. So this would be a great headset for gaming especially on Xbox and PS4 (As I have both).

For gaming it’s a no brainer… for the most part. It’s good value, well built and for once a Turtle Beach headset I can genuinely praise for it’s sound.
The bass on these are pretty outstanding for music and are pretty bearable outside of just gaming.
The one major draw back, is having to charge the amplifier up nearly every night or just randomly in the middle of a session. It can be annoying mid battl, listening to where the opponent is, then suddenly the headset cuts out and I have to scurry to plug it in.
I would recommend just getting them charged up every night to feel capacity to ensure this doesn’t happen because it’s rare, but sometimes has lasted two days off a charge (if you remember to turn them off every time)

But..
MIC does not work- straight from the box.
It’s registers on my console that I have a mic plugged in. But it doesn’t pick up noise, not even fussy noises. I’ve been through the tech support from turtle beach and that hasn’t helped either

Pretty comfortable and great sound quality for the price, only issue I seem to have is the microphone not picking up sound very well with my third party wired Xbox controller. But I would put that down to the controller rather than the headset. Would recommend if you’re a casual gamer and don’t wanna splash a few hundred like me!

I use this headset for gaming on my ‘xbox one s’. The overall quality of the product is awesome with a compfy design and great sound quality, I could certainly feel the change from my last headset. This is great for the money with great build quality. The reason I give the product 4 out 5 stars is because, after wearing for longer periods of time (around 1 hour) can become uncomfortable but I find if I take it off for a couple minutes it is comfortable again.
Great beginner headset!
Great headset for beginners, the sound quality is amazing and the mic works fine too. Only complaint is that it gets uncomfortable after long durations of wear, but I just use that as a reminder to take a break every once in a while 🙂

Must Buy
I have to admit I am a fan of TB headsets but the few I’ve had before this one are nothing in comparison. I found the sound quality to be far better than past headsets I’ve had, to the point where I literally can’t hear anything outside of the headset, I love it! The microphone quality is also sublime, when online my friends can hear me clearly, no fuzz.

For any console user this is a must buy, definitely!
I’m used to very high quality headphones, these are good and I like the swinging arm mute function however I find from time to time that there can be a high amount of amplified contact noise when adjusting (which could be avoided with a simple time delay), plus I find that the mic will every so often (even when muted), give a little bit of feedback (so that it looks like I’m talking when I’m not, which can be frustrating at times, however this is very minor and infrequent.
Great surround sound in games, party chat is extremely good, comfy, brilliant quality and the headband is extremely durable. Flip up mic is a really nice and convenient feature. I would definitely recommend this headset for anyone who’s looking for a great mic with not such a steep price tag.
Awesome sound quality perfect for gaming as background noise is cancelled out. So much so that my son doesn’t hear me calling.The headphones are easily adjusted and very comfortable so ideal for long game play etc. I have bought several cheaper sets of headphones during the last couple of years and these do appear better made only time will tell but the extra cost was worth it for the sound quality alone

Sound : Very good, but the gunshots in Destiny 2 seem tinny compared to my old headset (Turtle Beach XO One Amplified Stereo Gaming Headset).
Comfort: 4/5 – since after a while, you’ll need to take them off if only to give your ears some relief from the tight fit (that really muffles exterior noises eg the wifey/TV blah, blah, blah, :D).
A word of warning, you cannot connect this directly to the XB1 controller without the audio connector (* purchase separately *).
