First of all I had this in my basket and it was 27 and I was pondering for a few days will I or won’t I get it. I needed one for my side passage so when the price dropped to 14 I jumped on it. I’m glad I did as it’s a nice compact and solid light. Very handy to fit as it has a neat interface. Will it light up a football pitch? Not a chance but it’s bright enough for my side passage

Brilliant little ligh
Easy to install (rang my dad) looks really nice, I’ve got it set up inside my dark outhouse so when I go to my freezer it lights up the way. Nice and bright highly recommend for the price. The sensor can be moved and positioned to detect even my 5 year old.
Great value security light.
This security light was excellent value for money. It was easy to install/adjust and the individual LEDs have a good range of movement. The motion detection works well and the lights are very bright – it easily lights up my drive and the steps leading down to it. Note that there is no cable included with the light but, as this replaced an old light, I was able to re-use the existing cable.
Excellent Ligh
This is an excellent little light. I bought it to light up my drive and the garage door. It’s a very bright light and gives more illuminaton than the old halogen light it replaced. The motion sensor works well, apart from the usual problem of it being set off by the occasional cat. It’s extremely easy to fit (just screw the back plate to the wall and click the unit in place on to it) and it’s very easy to change the settings. Highly recommended.
Seems a good light for the price.
Fitted a month ago & as of now no problems. Has had lots of rain & as some previous reviews stated water ingress, no signs of any in this light assembly. As also stated no gasket/ seal included, so silicone sealer required to seal, this could be a problem with water ingress if not securely sealed. Sensitivity very good does not seem to get loads of false activations. Have had 3 different led motion sensor lights in quick succession, hopefully this one lasts longer than the previous.

I found this floodlight really good. I cannot comment on the reliability now as it was installed only a few weeks back. So far it work as expected. I did not play too much with the settings. I simply set it to “Dusk” mode. What I really like about this is the light it provides. It’s quite bright and you can adjust the 2 heads independently, so you can light up spaces in any kind of shape.
The PIR sensor position is also widely adjustable so you can easily point it in the right direction. However, I would appreciate it if they could provide something for limiting (shield or shade) the detection area.
The installation itself was also not complicated. If you are aware of the basic electrical rules and methods you can set it up on your own. The cable entry seems to be well thought out (considering the IP rating of the product) and there is space for cables inside too.
I am very happy with this light so far. It does what it says, but only the coming years will tell whether it was worth the money or not.
Bright lights.
Bought to replace non-working age related ones. These were delivered well packaged and in good condition. For the average DIY’er these should pose no problem at all to install / wire-up and set. Mine have been up and running for 3 months now and are working perfectly. Have set as per instructions and have had no problems, as soon as I walk into the range of the sensors they immediately light up. No false alarms like some reviewers, must have PIR set correctly.

The pun wasn’t intentional, but this light is brilliant in every sense of the word… it’s really bright in our back yard, but the anti-glare ‘visor’ style prevents annoying the neighbours… the PIR works just fine, and in white it looks pretty good for a spotlight.
If I had to make just one complaint, (and it’s not just limited to this light unit)… I wish they would use something akin to push fit wago style connectors rather than the screw down terminal blocks. It would make fitment with thick solid core household wiring so much easier.

This may be somewhat more expensive than the most basic security lights available here, but it seems to be a superior product. The first thing to say is how easy it is to install. There is a light plastic base plate that screws to the wall, into which the mains feed is wired. The light fitting is then plugged in and secured with three screws. It’s a great design. Connecting the mains feed inside also means you won’t need to add a separate IP rated junction box as you do with lamps the have a fixed cable coming out.
The next good surprise was just how quickly the lamps come on when someone approaches them. I have it mounted about 2 m from the ground, half way along the passage at the side of the house, and it comes on immediately I walk through the gate at the end of the passage. The previous light didn’t trigger until I had walked right past it.
One minor note: when I first installed it I had left it on the factory daylight setting and the lamp came on immediately it received power as expected. I switched it to the night setting and set the time to 5 minutes, but the lamp remained on, and even after I cycled the power the lamp refused to go off, leading me to think the daylight sensor was faulty. But after about a quarter of an hour it did go off, and has worked as expected since. I think it’s just necessary to be a bit patient immediately after installing it and give it time to settle down.

These lights are very bright for led’s, they light up all the way down my 100ft garden and they give out a very white clean light, the detection range is very good and they are very easy to install, metal housing is a bonus as most others are cheap plastic.
Only gave the 3 stars for motion detection simply because it has a mind of its own when its windy.It worked fine for a couple of weeks until the winds picked up last week I tried altering detection range and angle but no joy so started covering sensor screen a bit at a time still no joy, eventually covering it completely so that in theory and in practice it shouldn’t detect at all but no it still switched on and off. Now this is the puzzle bit when i wrapped the whole sensor housing in kitchen foil it stopped detecting completely as figured it would, I then opened the foil a little in front of the sensor screen and viola it works perfectly???????????

Great value sensor floodligh
This little floodlight looks smart and is easy to install. Works well with sufficient adjustments available. Sensitivity can be adjusted by changing angle of PIR or masking part if necessary but I didn’t need to. Light is bright enough but not as bright as expected. One disappointment – the waterproofing gasket which I would class as essential is stated to be an option and was absent from the package! This amazes me but I used some non-setting waterproofing sealant to take its place and the unit should now be watertight.

The fact that the light plugs in to the base plate once you have mounted and wired up base plate makes it so much easier to install ( ie you don’t have to hold the light while trying to wire it up to connector block just plug it in to connector then screw on to base plate) also settings are on sliding switches not little knobs also a nice touch and makes it easy to get right first time .
Excellent much brighter than I was expecting
These are excellent lights very bright and easily fitted. A nice touch with the fitting backplate is that it has a automatic plug/socket connection to the main unit, meaning you can wire in the base unit to the wall, then simply fit the main unit to the base and the base to main unit electrical connection is made automatically.

This is an excellent light and is cheap to run being LED and also I like that it has a overhang above the light so it is also so it is directed to where you want it to be.

Got this to replace an old outside light without pir. Fed up with either getting up in the morning to find it had been left on overnight or got put on in the dark mornings and left on all day.
This one comes on when we go out and goes off a few minutes after we come in.

Ver please with this light, allows you to direct the lights so that there is very little light intrusion in next doors garden. Excellent for seeing our dogs or any intruders. Working for over a month now no issues to report.
Great lights - but discontinued - why?
Great lights and I wish I had bought more. Waited for the replacements (now announced) but they do not have the hood that prevents light pollution spreading upwards. Houses opposite have security light also without hoods, which are all very intrusive. Bring back more of this version please.

I found this so easy to install and great lighting of our entire yard.
The installation is simplified by the installation of one small plate on the wall to which you then connect the power. The light unit then just plugs ontop of the plate and is fixed with a few screws. No messing about fiddling with wirea behind the lamp.

I’m chuffed with this light, always skeptical buying things like this online as it’s usually some cheap nasty stuff which lasts a month or two. But right out of the box i could tell this is a nice sturdy unit. Setup was easy and it works as described. So all good with this one. Looks smart too.

Good versatile light fitting....
Good versatile light fitting mounted at bottom of steep driveway by garage door – one light angled to illuminate back of car and behind (I always back into my drive) and the other illuminates first flight of steps up to my back door at the side of my bungalow. Lights easily adjusted for direction as is the detector and there is a a choice of sensitivity and timer settings.
I can’t vouch for the longevity yet as I have only just installed, but having also installed a Ring spotlight camera which cost 240, I personally thing that the build quality of this little security light isn’t that different to the Ring. I would say that fitting is even easier, as you can wire up the plate which attaches to the wall, and then the main light simply slots on the front of the plate with pins that insert into the block connecter. All very simple.
Nice and bright and the sensor seems pretty good, but time will tell as to whether the rain / cobwebs set it off (which they do with my ring camera light!!!)
Best outside lights
We were recommended these by a friend, and are so pleased with them. They are easy to install and set up.

Very quick installation with clear guidance given in literature supplied. Does need sealing with silicon but this is again pointed out in literature. Has worked well since installation, set to come on at night for 1 minute. Did find it coming on in the day once but worked out that it was receiving direct sunlight to sensor. Moved sensor down and problem solved.

This PIR Motion Detector arrived very quickly first of all. I found it to be very well constructed and a nice heavy feel. Fitting was a breeze and the two switches underneath make it so simple to to set it up. ie. darkness levels (3) and time on (4). Light output is awesome and it illuminates all the way to the bottom of my garden (120ft). In all, I am very impressed with this security lamp and have no hesitation in recommending it. I give it 5 stars.

Works well with easy installation and it is not too intrusive on the wall.
It is a one-off product though. Once the LED no longer works, the whole thing has to be replaced. The price mark is not too crazy – especially considering what you would pay for another LED light – but it is wasteful that it can’t be replaced and that takes it down one star.
I would place it so there is some sort of protection from the rain. It states it is waterproof, but the place where we are using it, it rains heavily for a few months a year and in that case, I very much doubt it would survive the onslaught.

The fitting seems to indicate it is Double Insulated but it does require an earth connection.
It is quite heavy and the lights and sensor adjust up and down and also swivel.
When off the electronics use 1.4 watts and when on just over 21 watts.
It has a range of light level settings “night, dusk & day” and on times of 5secs, 1mins, 5mins and 12mins.
The light is very bright and very white.
A professional Electrician should install it!
It took some time for us to have a qualified electrician to install this for us – and the weather hasn’t been ‘kind’ to us so we had to delay the installation a few times BUT we are very happy now with the result.
Motion detection is very good and, with the adjustable head (s) it is also possible to ensure there is no light inconvenience to neighbour’s properties.
Only installed for a short time, the weather has again had a turn for the worse so trees nearby are prone to setting off the sensors we have around the garden but that is a small price to pay for the added security this product (and others) have given us. We get peace of mind and these lights are also quite attractive too!
Effective motion sensor lights
This is a pretty good light. It’s well made, solid, and yet lightweight. The size is a lot smaller than that of the traditional, bulb based fitting we replaced with this. Installation was quick and straightforward. We did have an electrician do the replacement: he was going to be here fitting lights and power points in our extension, so I asked about a couple of straightforward-seeming item replacements. This took minutes to install. Switches to change settings are easy to access and alter.
The LED lights are bright and effective. It’s kind of a pity that the heads can’t be turned a bit further – both move independently, but if each moved through 180 degrees rather than 90 this could be used to illuminate the corner of a building. As a basic fixture, this does cast light beyond the end of a wall; but the motion sensors can’t accommodate pathways at both sides of a building. Pickup distance for PIR sensors seems decent. I’m picked up the moment I walk round the corner of our garage conversion – around 5.5 metres distant from the sensor.
The light was well packaged in the manufacturers box and came with wall plugs & screws to fit to the wall. The instructions were provided in various languages, but the pictures depicting the installation were quite small. They were clear enough to follow though, with guidelines for how high to fix the light. This is my first time fitting anything electrical and it was very easy.
It’s quite a modern looking light and has a small, lightweight base to affix to the wall prior to screwing on the main light fitting. This is great, as the light is quite heavy and would be difficult to fit if it was all one piece. Up to you whether you fit to the wall first before wiring, but probably easier to wire first, then screw onto the wall after. The problem I faced with the wiring was that the hole allows the cable to enter from the bottom, but the connectors are at a right angle to the opening. It’s a bit fiddly and the only fault I have with the light as a whole. It would be much easier if the connectors were directly above the opening, so the wires could feed straight in.
It didn’t take long to install, maybe 20mins if your wires are ready to go and don’t need cutting. Once the light is fitted, it’s easy to manoeuvre the 2 spotlights to the desired angle. Make sure you don’t look directly at them if they’re on, as they are VERY bright, even from 5 metres away. I like the fact it has 2 lights, as I have one directed to the back gate and fence on the right and the other straight ahead, towards the bins & shed.
There are 3 mode settings, but to be honest the night or dusk setting will suffice for home use. There are also various time settings, but I find that 1 minute is enough for what I need. Bear in mind, if you did have plans to change the setting regularly that you’d need a ladder, as the light needs to be positioned at least 6’6” off the ground. I’ve tried the sensor in daylight & night mode and it works fine. It’s very sensitive and switches on when I open the backdoor, let alone walk outside.
The light beam is strong and reaches 15metres as suggested, maybe slightly less than 10m width ways. Therefore, when combined properly, the 2 lights can cover quite a sizeable area. Here’s a few photos to show how bright it is. The fence at the back of the pic is about 5-6metres away.
All in all, I’ve found it a great security light for when you need to light up 2 different areas with the same light.
Unusually well designed!
I normally have two major gripes when fitting lights. Firstly, I don’t have three hands. Nobody does. Secondly, marking the holes is a pain.
So, regarding issue 1, and somewhat issue 2 also, this fitting has solved it. The back plate, the bit that you screw to the wall, shockingly it’s a separate piece! You can wire it through – get the wires in, and then put the front on separately. No more trying to hold a screwdriver while also holding a screw while also holding the mounting backplate while also holding the light fitting because it’s dangling loose. Awesome.
For clarity – it achieves this by means of two prongs on the front piece that poke into two spring sockets on the back piece. This is becoming more common actually, I’ve seen it a few places recently where you can fit the back plate on the wall then the front is connected by compression fittings of some sort (meaning springy contacts). Ring doorbell is one that comes to mind.
So yeah fitting was a breeze.
Note that there’s no earthing on this – it’s entirely plastic. If you have an earth, you know what to do. If you don’t, you uh, probably shouldn’t be doing this job.
The light also works as expected, with the usual adjustment dials and stuff. I’m please with it.

This is a very good sensor light that will look stylish outside of any home.
Very easy install and stylish frog eye style spot light. Does come with instructions also incase this sort of thing isn’t your usual vice.
Simply screw to the wall as expected and can be adjusted to aim the lights in the suitable area.
The brackets holding the lights do not feel extremely strong, would like to think it will last well however my gut feeling is they will not last too long. Probably best installing your own.

A very good security lamp
This is a medium bright motion detecting light, suitable for a small terrace or the side of a house. Don’t expect it to illuminate a large garden.
Unlike many lights, it has two independent heads, giving flexible coverage. There is one motion sensor with adjustable sensitivity.
One god feature is that it has a base plate, which you wire in, rather than having to struggle with the whole light at the top of a ladder. The main unit then fits on the base with screws.
No cable is included, sadly, so you may have to cannibalise your existing cable, possibly the one permanently wired into a light this replaces, as I did. Just one or two metres of cable would have been handy.
The light is good value, though, and works well, and is essential these days, to deter burglars. Fitting was simple, hampered only by the strain of being up a ladder.
There are three modes to choose from: active all day, active from dusk and active only at nighr. I had to choose the last because the dusk setting made mine active all day. Still, it works fine like that.

Well designed, sturdy and easy to install.
The entire light fitting removes from the base ~ simple but brilliant to help with installation.
So I had an old light up with a single cable going to it.
A simple, non technical replace fitting installation which doesn’t need an electrician if you are reasonably sensible and of a DIY nature.
First turn off electricity to light circuit and use a tester to ensure it is off.
Remove old fitting leaving bare wires.
Install the base unit of this light, making sure it has good fixing to the wall and that the live wire is on the correct terminal. [if none of this makes sense get an electrician].
When base is correctly installed fix the light unit to it with the two small bolts provided.
Check everything looks OK
Turn on the power and wait until dark.
There are sliding controls to control sensitivity and duration ~ you may need to move these to get the light to do what you want.
The LED units, yellow discs, give a clear sharp light the is easy to adjust for angle and direction.
An excellent outdoor light, much better than my old one.

I didn’t install this, my brother in law did it for me and said it was quite easy to do. It seems fairly sturdy and does what it says on the tin! Lights are quite bright and sensitive to movement, so much so, my cat keeps setting it off.
Fairly happy with this.
