Great that item has options to hold memory cards; however when in USB port it needs room, which my one does not as I prefer to use mouse plugged in. If spaced usb then this item really is perfect. I still love it, as it does job I got it for. Also shame does not have a way to attach to a key ring so does not get lost etc.

Yup, it plugs in to two sizes of USB socket and reads both SD and Micro SD cards. It just showed up as another drive on my Mac once it had a card in it.

I use micro SD’s via a dash cam and standard SD’s for photography. For both cards this USB is ideal. My laptop has USB C ports and my desktop USB A ports. This works with both. I have been using the USB every day for a couple of weeks without any problems. Great little gadget at a great price.

Having replaced the laptop due to its complete failure, (the benefit of regular backing up made disaster recovery easy), the new laptop took micro cards only – I use many SD cards. Problem solved very easily by bit of inexpensive technology. Ordered at 1800 – delivered 1100 next day.

For price it seemed ideal (in fact I bought two:- one for use on my lap to whilst away from home and one to sit in my main PC).

My experience with USB adaptors for SD cards has always been one of general unreliability, not so with this one. It just works.

It’s really convenient to put all of my documents on a micro SD, edit them on my desktop, and then when I go out I can just flip the adaptor over and plug it into my phone’s microUSB slot and edit my docs on that while I’m travelling.

SD/MicroSD cards can carry a lot of data these days, so it’s nice to be able to carry around all of that storage and know that I can plug it into anything with a slot or a USB. Much more reliable than the portable hard disk I used to use before.

My SD card slot on my laptop packed up a long time ago, but at first it didn’t cause a problem because I could transfer data from my phone and Go Pro type camera via the USB port. Then I bought a couple of devices that couldn’t transfer date through the USB cable and it became a chore taking out the mini SD card and installing it in my Go Pro camera and connecting that to my laptop using the USB cable to download the pictures, so I decided to get one of these adapters and it’s great. It would be even better if it could be used as a memory stick as well. This would be the icing on the cake. Very handy, well made and great value.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersDespite being a chinese sourced product, this worked. Bit confused that the same thing seems to be sold on amazon by the same seller with 4 different titles and 3 different prices but using mostly replicated pictures. When plugging in my trail cam directly to computer to downlod pics, the computer had a wobbly. However, taking the card from the trail cam and introducing it to the computer via this card reader worked straightforwardly. No need for any driver software etc. on Windows 7. I would buy a small electronic product by this seller again.

I have only used this for an SDHC card but have found it so useful. Most laptops do have a SDHC/SD reader but not all PC’s and laptops are coming with a built-in card reader anymore and if they do you may have to pay a lot extra so this is a really affordable option as it slots into a USB port and then you pop in your SDHC card. I found it easy to use and affordable. I haven’t used the micro sd but I’m sure that would be as easy.

This works on every device I have, Phones, tablets, and pc, just pop in the sd card and copy/paste, I was using an internal card reader in my pc but thought this would be better as most PC’s don’t have 5″ drive bays any more, This works great and is much smaller, transfer rates are fast too, Well worth buying for those just in case moments, Well recommended

I recently bought a Canon Ixus 285 to replace my older Ixus that had stopped working. Unfortunately, the new camera doesn’t have any ports so that I can connect it to my computer. It is supposed to work with bluetooth, but my computer can’t recognise it. This little device has saved my having to return the camera, as without it I wouldn’t be able to transfer my photos. One very happy customer.

A bit pricey but works well. My phone id’s SD or micros fast and transfers both ways at speed. Of course the phone and type of SD card will have a huge bearing on performance too. Handy device that is not too big or bulky, has a rubbery feel to it so it doesn’t feel like on of those cheap plastic devices you can buy. Has 2 slots, one for standard SD cards and adaptors and one for micro SD card which makes it perfect for transferring data from SD to micro SD or from micros sd to micro sd via adaptor, overall a useful device at a very good price.

  55. LawrencE00 says:

I have only given a four star review as regards versatility but this does not imply any problems with the card reader, rather the problems were caused by PC windows 10 and,or various PC’s. Eventually found one which worked downloading from a Panasonic Video camera. Once installed the card reader was very easy to use, and has simplified my life a lot!!!!!!

  56. OnitaTKEbch says:

This reads full size and micro SD cards quickly and reliably and feels solid while it is doing so. It solved a problem for me as I knew I would need to be able to carry and hand over the same data for two different purposes/audiences. One copy went on a full-sized card, the other on a micro card. This gadget was great for writing and reading both.

  57. TOCMontehavey says:

What a cool device! I can hook it up to any computer and my phone. One critique (although it may be my Samsung fault) is that when I plug it in and go to the photo folder on my card, I have to click every picture separately (I can’t click one and swipe, have to go in and out) and since I use the card from my camera where I sometimes have multiple photos of the same thing it gets annoying. But then – might be my Samsung that can’t handle it well. Still I get to take a photo, pop the card it into the device, plug in and there! Highly recommend.

  58. EulaliaF79 says:

I have only used the device three times, and have not used the micro USB facility. The standard USB “port” (I cannot think of a more appropriate word) and the two card slots work exactly as required. A most useful device to have to hand.

Needed an adaptor to read SD card from wildlife camera as W10 didn’t recognise my device. This OTG is great. Plug and play, recognised straight away and could view the video images. Fantastic idea having it able to plus into a normal USB or mini. Shame my phone is type C, but still a good idea.

I do Photography for a living and this has been a good addition for something that just dose the job.

Read and write speed’s are fast but slows down, for the larger amount of raw photos so you be looking at more or less a minute or two for large file size transfers.

My only complain is that the plastic in the USB slot needs to be file down so that it can fit better without damage my PC USB ports. This can be file down with use over time or, if you’re like myself and know what you’re doing this can be done easy.

I really like this SD card reader as it works well with my computer and my Sony mobile but I have had a few problems with my tablet. I sometimes have to remove the reader and re-insert it a couple of times before the tablet registers the card. This maybe down to my tablet but as ir reads everything else perfectly I don’t think so but when it works on the tableet it’s really good and, though I may have to remove and re-insert, it’s still better than carrying around 3 different readers. On the whole worth buying.

Excellent. Works well, cards fit nicely, compact and the ability to connect it to both a USB capable device as well as a phone or tablet is really great. The reader is easy to use. Just plug and play. This will also be handy for use when away from my pc. I can transfer photos and videos from my phone to my laptop easily, freeing up more space for many more photos, rather than taking a ridiculous number of SD cards with me (I take a lot of photos) or going to the expense of buying a large capacity card.

I was initially disappointed by this product’s limited efficiency as it kept falling out of my copy of THE 7 PILLARS OF WISDOM by T E Lawrence. What sort of bookmark have I bought?, I asked myself. It was after referral to the packaging that I realised that I had bought an excellent card reader with dual access via standard and smaller size USB connections. Go elsewhere for a bookmark but stay with this for a card reader for your SD cards.

This adapter is just what I needed. I recently bought a new phone which, unfortunately, doesn’t have OTG which I use frequently to transfer files between phones (quicker than Bluetooth). I got this adapter as it has a micro usb connection to connect to the first phone (which does have OTG) and it takes a micro sd card, so I can once again transfer files between phones without the need to use the PC (or Bluetooth). I copy files from the first phone to the adapter and then take out the micro sd card which slips in to the new phone so the files can be copied over. Takes marginally longer but has solved my problem. Highly recommended.

Pro: well made, versatile device, which acts both as a card reader and also as an adapter.
    Good and possibly bad;
The end caps are a smug fit and so are the plugs – you may find them quite tight to insert into some devices.

Cons: it’s width may prevent you using adjacent usb socket on laptop or 2in1 tablet.

This arrived very fast indeed – it’s small, light and positive with very quick picture transfer on SD and Micro SD both of which slot in easily and with a satisfying ‘click’, as do the end caps which often get lost on some models.

    Very pleased indeed.

Loving this little gadget. Pleased to say my Samsung Tab A3 immediately recognised it once I’d plugged my GoPro micro SD card into it. And because it’s also got a USB-A socket, you can put it into your PC too 🙂

Feels good and tough enough to carry around, and the caps are nice and tight.

So yeah, a great little purchase for those that need to muck about moving data around!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersUsing this for my DSLR and GoPro to connect to my Galaxy S7 and MacBook Pro. SD card on Galaxy S7 seems to work without issue on Micro USB but Micro SD seems to really struggle when streaming 1080p 60fps GoPro footage (on both Phone and Macbook Pro), getting constant buffering problems meaning that you’ll probably need to transfer video files to your PC/Other storage device before you can review the footage.

I’ll be purchasing a Micro SD adapter for the Macbook instead which is unfortunate as I had hope this would have performed both roles.

To sum up – Great if you just want to edit images/RAW files on your phone via Micro USB. Not so great for Video on anything other than a tool for transferring to your devices.

Seems fine. I have only used the SD card slot so far but will probably use the micro one as well. When I first put it in, it seemed to confuse my PC a bit and it wouldn’t recognise it (it said) but it showed up in the programs I expected it to and it does not give the message any more, so it’s fine. 🙂

Do you have a Samsung S6 & S6 edge then this is for you. No SD card what a pain Samsung, but with this device you can back up your phone
to a new SD card if your up grading your phone with an SD card. Or you can backup your S6 to a Pen stick or SD card using Samsung’s SMART switch App.
Great price fast service a must buy.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersI brought this to use with my Samsung Galaxy S7 and it works perfectly .
I already had a card reader but had to use an adapter to plug it into my S7 and it would not read some cards,
I decided to try this card reader as it was such a reasonable price it was worth a try, and was delighted to find this reader plugs strait into the port of my S7 and reads all the SD cards I have, this includes stranded and micro SD cards, some used in my S7 and some used in a couple of cameras which is great as can view , edit and upload photos taken on my Cameras and share intantly on social media or with friends and relations using my S7 mobile rather than having to boot up and use my old and very slow lap top computer, and of course this is very usefully for uploading photos when out and about.
I also love the compact size and shape of this card reader as makes it easy to slip into a pocket or purse, hand bag, camera bag etc., and loads photos really quickly.
A great product at a great price and arrived the day after ordering using prime.

The USB Output fits a tad-too-tight in all of the ports in both my Personal PC and my Work PC. Product is still useable and has good build quality. For the price you get a good piece of kit.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThis thing works great!

I bought one of these because I didn’t have a card reader in my pc, and I don’t really feel like fitting one so this was something I needed.

I got it because I have replaced my S7 Edge and no longer have the phone, but I had a 128Gb memory card in it, and since my new phone won’t take a memory card (Huawei Mate 10 Pro) I didn’t feel like throwing the card, away so I am using it now for backups of photo’s, and the funny thing is I can plug it in to my dad’s phone via usb and pull the photos of his phone directly on to the card as well.

A clever bit of kit. Standard usb AND micro usb on one side and usb-c on the other. So 3 different connectors.
I don’t have anything that this doesn’t work with.
And it works with the high capacity SD cards (over 32gb), which my last one didn’t.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersIt works a treat with a Moto G5 Android smartphone. I wanted to take photographs on my DSLR camera on holiday, then transfer from the camera’s SD card to my smartphone. I can then email to friends or post them on to Facebook, etc. Previously, I had to wait until I was back home to use my PC with a built in card reader in order to do this.

Golden Review Award: 59 From Our UsersI had the ‘old-style’ card readers, the ones with the cables and a mind-boggling choice of different slots for different cards, so when my last one gave up the ghost I thought I’d try this style and I’ll be sticking with it. The device has a ‘rubberised’ feel to and feels quite well made. I like the fact there are only two slots; one for standard SD card and a micro SD card. The feature I like the most is there is a standard USB connector at one end, for PCs, laptops, etc and a micro USB for tablets and phones at the other end. The end caps are a ‘positive fit’, by which I mean they have slight resistance to pull off and put back on, which means they’re unlikely to fall off like some others. I have transferred some images from my digital camera’s SD card and it works well. I would quite happily recommend this to friends or family.

Golden Review Award: 50 From Our UsersThis product has been a saviour for me. I have an old canon camera which the SD card reader has always been fine to use for but recently investing in a GoPro has meant that I had to buy a new SD card reader for the micro sim. I looked around for ages for something compatible and that would work effectively for the right price and came across this. It’s small and easily portable. Has all the functions needed with ease of use. The compact design makes it ideal for travelling around with or just to easily store it. The addition of the plug for phones at the end has really aided me as using a Samsung phone transporting my pictures across has never been easier. I’m really happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a cheap but effective product. Came just as described.

Golden Review Award: 38 From Our UsersThere is not much to say about this card reader other than its great and does what it is meant to, you can transfer pictures from your phone to SD cards and micro SD cards, this is only for android not for iPhone. It also is a really good quality and comes in very nice packaging.

    Does its job
