Absolutely amazing I was looking for a industrial carpet cleaner and boy did I find it carnt believe how much dirt you can see coming out carpets when your cleaning them sturdy and so easy too strip down and clean and reassemble
Vax carpet cleane
This machine is very easy to use and clean. I am very happy with the performance and my carpets & sofa look amazing after a clean. Buy some spot stain remover for stains & go over tem a few times to remove them. Go very slowly to allow the machine to do a good job.
Does its job
Seems pretty good. Its big when the tanks full it doesn’t feel very secure to lift the unit via the handle as ou see the lower portion of the vac drop slightly under the weight of it all but the need to lift it when full of water is easily avoidable. I will say its very very obvious having read some reviews saying this died after a months use. It needs cleaning down well after use. Blow out the tubes. Take the rotating brushes apart after use as they will be Full of carpet strands. I expect that if its cleaned and dried well after use you will get many years from it.
Ideal machine to clean carpets
This machine makes light work of cleaning carpets. Covers 8 roms in a morning. Easy to fill water and fluids and also to empty the dirty water. Apply fluid (water + shampoo or just rinse water) when pushing forward and suck it up on return. Extra drying by forward and back stroke with fluids turned off.
Does what it says
I use this a few times a year. It does what it needs to, and it’s shocking how much dirt comes out of my carpets! Black water! It is heavy and loud, and I find carpets wetter than expected, but my carpets do look clean. I’ve had a few times of it not sucking water up, so I’ve turned machine off, run through what could be causing a blockage and then it’s worked again. Can be a pain cleaning it after. But it saves the pennies having to get them professionally cleaned, and hand to have around if an emergency clean up is needed.

So I am a user and abuser of Amazon reviews. This product is so good I had to write one! I can’t believe how good it is for carpets you thought were dead ten years ago! Also great for eradicating smells which was the prime use I got it for. Can’t recommend enough! Switched out from a Bissell which broker after a couple of months.
Does what it says on the box!!
I have alway bought vax it is the best machine I have found for washing carpets. I have three little dogs who bring in mud from the garden so this machine is a god send. I would like to add that its very heavy when the water/solution tank is full. The suction is brilliant. Definitely easy to use. I haven’t tried on the stairs yet but if it’s anything like washing on a flat surface the stairs I would imagine is going to be easy. Definitely worth every penny!!

I didnt realise how dirty my carpets were until I used this! Easy to use, easy to clean, carpets dry after an hour. Large capacity tanks so no need to keep running back and forwards to the sink. Very happy with this product. Wish I had bought one sooner!

I’ve just cleaned my living room carpet and I was shocked by how much dirt this machine brought out of it. The carpet is only 18months old and we don’t have shoes in there, it really shocked me how dirty it was.
Its easy to use and cleaned the sofa really well. I’ve not done my stairs as yet so I can’t really have an opinion on that.
I did a deep clean and then once washed I went back over it on a quick clean but to use the suction only it got so much water out the carpet. I could feel that the carpet was warm as it was sucking the water out and I went back 30 minutes later and it is nearly dry.

I was really skeptical of buying a vax carpet washer having previously used their vacuum cleaners and not found them overly good. But this is phenomenal! I am so pleased. The hand held attachments are a must for getting in the corners, sofas, cars, stairs etc and the one this comes with is brilliant. Make sure you follow the instructions and go slowly over the area a few times releasing the trigger on the stroke backwards to suck up the water. My carpets were dry within the hour ! Picture above is after doing 1 room and I vacuum atleast twice a day. No leaking like some of the other models are reviewed and brilliant cleaning. Very happy custome

Tip top cleane
Very pleasant to use. I initially only started with 40ml of solution and 1 litre of water but I found I was always stopping to add more so will definitely increase the quantity when using again as the tank holds quite a bit.
I got 2 rooms, a landing and stairs completed with the 250ml solution included but I found I was almost rashioning it near the end of the stairs so I would advise you buy more solution before you begin especially if you have several rooms to do.
Overall it is easy to use and there is next to no assembly. It is easy to clean after use and the carpets dried within 2 hours (set to deep clean mode, a hot day and windows open).
Very happy with this purchase. Money well spent!

Brought my carpet up like new
This is an excellent carpet cleaner. I’ve used it to clean my bedroom, landing and stairs so far and I’m very pleased with the results. I have a long haired dog and even though I regularly vacuum I couldn’t believe the amount of dog hair this cleaner pulled out of my carpet. It looks like new. Can’t wait to do my front room.
It is good value when you consider the price of hiring a cleaner. My Vax is now available any time I need it. Once you get the hang of it, it quite easy to use and all the brushes and containers come off easily to clean.

I decided to look into carpet cleaners when I realised hoovering was not enough to keep my carpet floor actually clean. I haven’t been disappointed by this product! The colour of the dirty water tells me my carpet definitely needed it
I appreciate that every single piece can be removed so the appliance can be thoroughly cleaned after use.
The only con I can think of is that it’s not easy to use on smaller carpets, such as my kitchen runner, I needed another person to hold the other side of the carpet still in order to use the cleaner.
But still, great purchase.

This machine really gets carpets clean!
I am extremely pleased with the results from using this carpet washer. The cleanliness is clearly visible once used. The ability of the machine to suck out the dirty water residue is excellent. The only hard task after using the machine is cleaning the brushes of carpet ‘fluff’ but it’s a small price to pay when the cleaning power is so satisfying. Would definitely recommend this product.

it is slightly heavier than my previous vax but the added water collection is well worth the extra weight and the carpets dry a lot quicker too as mine were dry within an hour definatly recommend not tried it on the stairs at the moment but I am sure it will be just as good
Brilliant Product but Issues with Faulty Cable Connectio
Bought this in March 2021. Really easy to use. Cleaned carpets in my entire home over a period of a few days. Machine is brilliant – they all came up like new. House looks lovely and smells fresh. Cleaned the filters, nozzle, brushes after use as per the instructions – I found it really easy to clean.
Then took the product to my daughters house . Cleaned one room perfectly. Went to clean the next room and the product,for no apparent reason, kept cutting out intermittently. Would only work if I held cable off the floor and pulled it up to left side of machine.
Watched Utube video on why it could cut intermittently – said it could over heat if carpet fibres blocked filters and brushes as air required to circulate. Cleaned it thoroughly again. Turned it on – did not start. Went and got a cup of tea and heard the product start up whilst I was out of room but had left it turned on.
Inspired by the motor kicking back in – returned to use it again – but when I lowered the handle to recline and push forward the machine cut out again – but it restarted if I held the cable in the air and did not let trail on floor. My husband and I spent a good two hours assessing what was wrong with this product. We deduced that it would only work (having cleaned it of all debris as per the manufacturers instructions) if I held cable up at a height above my shoulder and did not let the cable drag on the floor.
That said, I am nevertheless purchasing another one of these products as when it worked it was tremendous. I am putting my experience down to luck as the machine I was provided with definitely had a faulty cable connection and was not cutting out because it required to have a clean and filters cleared etc etc.
Very good but...
Despite all the negative reviews, it simply does the job. Thoroughly cleaned the whole house carpets with ease and drying time was relatively quick.
The only improvement needed is the stairs attachment, it needs higher suction power and thicker brush otherwise it is very good!
Great choice from a reputable manufacture
Did everything I needed, simple to use and carpets came up as good as new. Impressed with how they were only slightly damp afterwards, perfectly dry next day. Takes a bit time to flush out and clean properly once used but essential to prolong the machine effectiveness. Well worth the money IMO

Amazing carpet cleane
This is a game changer! We have paid 70+ per room to have the carpets cleaned in the past. Using the Vax just once had paid for its self. It is great value for money.
We don’t wear shoes in our house and I was amazed at how much dirt was removed from the carpets. The suction is very powerful and the carpet was dried in around 1 hour.
I love the hand held attachment and I have used this to clean my sofa with. It is really easy to use.
The only negative is that is it very heavy to carry up the stairs. Although it is not something we will be doing every day/week so its not really a problem.

We had an old vax carpets cleaner sodecided to upgrade and got this it’s brilliant it now has rotating scrubbers which really clean down into carpet. We have three labradors and the amount of muck it cleaned out of the carpets was amazing. It also has a bigger cleaning and waste tank which is good because that used to be one of the bugbears of the old one. The carpets we cleaned were almost dry when we finished which was a plus
Works well if you follow the instructions
I’m the world’s most sceptical person but I have to say I’m impressed with the result on first use for a well used lounge carpet that has only ever been vacuumed for the last eleven years. The little brushes take a bit of cleaning after use and that took longer than the cleaning process. On balance though its much cheaper than a new carpet!

Used to clean carpets. Really good results and easy to use. Can easily be stripped down to clean all the parts on completion. Only downside was that it kept clogging up but i think that may be down to the type of carpet we have.

This machine is simply the best carpet cleaner I have ever used. It has cleaned and revived my carpets beautifully. Our cream carpets have come up like new and our old wool carpet looks wonderful. I do find the valve annoying as it pops up and you have to switch off, let it settle and start again. It seems that the foam triggers this. I have been squirting a small amount of distilled vinegar into that compartment which has helped to keep the foam at bay. The hose is too short to clean my stairs, I am not impressed with the tool for cleaning upholstery I scrubbed our settee and used the tool to suck up the excess moisture. I love the fact that you can rinse off the shampoo. The brushes are easy to clean. All in all a super machine with a nice bag to hang up with the tools in.

Love this carpet cleaner, can really notice the difference, do need to go over it again but carpets are over 7 years old.
Easy to use.
I bought this carpet cleaner to clean my carpets in my caravan so I thought I better try it out first. It was so easy too assemble and use. I used it on the carpet in the living room and as you can see by the video it does the job fantastically well .It is a tad heavy for lifting upstairs by its because of its sturdy design. I can highly recommend this item.
Ease of use
I bought this to replace a previous Vax carpet cleaner, having seen one like this that my daughter uses. I am not disappointed and was amazed at the amount of dirt sucked out of the carpet, compared with my previous one. It is extremely easy to use although rather on the noisy side, as they all are but very pleased with my purchase. Highly recommended.

Wow!!! Just wow! I thought my carpets where beyond salvage and was going to buy a new one, decided to give this a whirl first…. im sooo glad I did, got rid of even the most toughest of stains and ground in dirt. Even my log pile rug, granted that took a couple of passes but has come up good as new again.

I think personally this is a really good carpet and stair cleaner. Having a dog you can’t always wipe muddy paws quick enough but this cleaner has made such a difference

Replacing my old Vax Rapide Ultra 2
Thought i’d let people know how this compares to the Vax Rapide Ultra 2 as I couldn’t find any reviews comparing the two.
I live in a flat that used to be rented by a smoker. The smell is horrific to say the least. My old Vax did a good job but every now and again i’d catch a whiff of stale smoke. I thought I’d give this new machine a go.
I can say straight away it gives a much better clean compared to the old ultra 2 model. The brushes really help lift the pile, I also like the separate compartment for adding the cleaning solution. However it gets through a LOT . I have used three bottles cleaning two rooms, granted I did go over them three times but they are small rooms. I can say it uses a lot more than my old Vax.
Positives compared to the Rapide Ultra 2
– Better Suction
– Brushes are far better at lifting dirt
– Cleans carpets a lot better
– Far easier to clean the machine compared to the old one
– I like the separate solution container, takes the guess work out
Negatives
– Uses more solution
– Power pedal in a stupid place as its quite small, my size 12s often slip off it
– Power cable is in a silly place, often trip over it or run it over
– The waste water container is harder to remove compared to older one
The negatives are annoying but nothing to stop me using it. This gives a far better clean than any carpet cleaner I have used, including the much more expensive Rug Dr variety. I am hoping my flat will now smell less like a cigarette and more like clean carpet!

I really like how easy it takes apart to be able to clean it. Its a bit time consuming but worth it to stop unpleasant smells. The machine is heavy so the stairs can be challenging but its mainly because of the water. The machine is easy to use and sucks well but be aware the carpet will be damp

Outstanding machine excellent at cleaning with excellent suction. Easy to use and clean, others have said it’s heavy but it’s not that different from other machines it’s worth every penny compared to others I have used. use it correctly and you’ll get great results if you’re not sure watch a few YouTube demonstrations
Brilliant washe
Easy to assemble with quite straightforward instructions to use. I was quite cautious from a burning plastic odour but it was just the heated parts whilst operating. Also quite noisy but I knew beforehand that my neighbours will know when I wash my carpets. The result amazing. You can see the result almost immediately. Actually after the drying time. Also the water in the dirty water tank will amaze you with the dark black colour. It got lighter after the 4th pass. For me is a clear successful investment.

Great cleaning, easy use, a little on the loud side
Really happy. We have 2 dogs and so this purchase was well over due. Really easy to use its heavy as you can imagine but the long hose for the upholstery cleaner was perfect for my stairs as I have a break half way due to a turn. The carpets look new again our sofas were a little grubby as we let the dogs up they look amazing im not sure about the 1 hour dry claim as I hoovered the carpets thoroughly to try and get all of the moisture out and they were still slightly damp the following morning. The only negative is how loud it is but its not for every day use so not a massive issue. I wore headphones and my ears were still ringing but its really powerfull compared to my mums Vax we borrow.

Great I was about to buy a new carpet but I decided to try with a carpet washing machine I saw that this model had good reviews and I bought it and the images speak for themselves, I just gave a little test wash and I loved the results I am like a child when you just received a new toy.
Does the job, disappointing on the stairs...
I decided on this model as it had the attachments for stairs. The hose is not long enough to do the whole flight from the bottom, and if you’re safety conscious like me…! I didn’t think it worked too well on the stairs, so disappointed there.

You only get a very small bottle of solution with the cleaner which didn’t last long. Waiting for a delivery of non-vax solution to try with it as vax solution is very expensive and no smell.

The vax carpet washer has been a god send. Pup now 11 months but for the first 4 months he pee’d on one area of the carpet all the time. About to get a new carpet but thought we would give this a shot. It took two passes but has brought the light grey carpet back to near new condition and the whole room smells fresher. Took next to no time to dry and we are about to do the whole house. Brilliant job and it gives the looks like it was done by an industrial cleaner.

Cleans brilliantly, my carpet is very short and flat, I was worried that might be a problem and none of the reviews gave me any reassurance with that. But its just excellent, the front of the machine was pressed on the carpet at all times and although it is loud it makes up for it in every other aspect. My carpets where dry in under 30 mins, very pleased.

Just moved into our house and brought this as the carpet was a bit dirty in parts, didn’t realise how dirty it was!! Did a great job. Really easy to use the carpet dose dry in about an hour but I did a rinse after so dose take longer to dry, but all in all well worth it.

It also has a scrubber that works really well so if you have a stain or mark it will get it out, the hose attachment is great for the stairs and I have used it in the car with great results.
we have had this a few months now and it’s fantastic, my daughter used it on a ” proficiently cleaned” all carpet that still had marks and dirt, this di a much better job.

It’s a bit heavier than I expected which is nota and thing. I have a german shepherd along with light coloured carpets, so I purchased the new vax cleaner as my last one was 10 years old I’m so happy with the results my carpets are like new. I would have no hesitation in recommending this cleaner.

My initial purchase had a problem but was replaced within two days thanks to Vax and Amazon.
The replacement machine hasn’t missed a beat, and the transformation to the carpets is nothing less that amazing, so easy to use and to clean after you have finished.
I would recommend this machine to anyone who is seriously considering buying a carpet shampooing machine.
The Vax Platinum shampoo that is included with the machine is recommended without reservation, amazing cleaner.

Have also done all the stairs in our 4 storey house. I found the Vax easy to use although I was surprised at how little dirty water was in the tank at the end compared to all the clean water/shampoo I put into it! Really pleased overall.

High Expectations. Exceeded!
I have other Vax products in the house already (upright and cylinder vacs) so expect good quality products. This carpet cleaner exceeded those expectations by far. Cleans as well as a commercial cleaner and expect it to last many years. Can’t fault it.

Brought as we were tired of paying for someone to come and clean our carpets all the time. It’s easy to put together it’s simple to use slightly noisy but not an issue at all and the results are amazing. Our carpets look like new. It’s a new addiction watching how clean it makes your carpets come up. Worth every penny

For regular cleaning this is the cleaner to go for.
The machine cleans very well, the suction isn’t amazing but it does collect most of it, claims dry in 45 but that is ambitious claim for any cleaner – definitely dry by next day tho.
We used to get a professional cleaning company in once a year, this takes a little longer but I have been getting better results than a professional clean usually does, with only a little perseverance!
It’s already paid for itself and we are happy with it!
I would definitely recommend this product. It has done an amazing job on my living room carpet. It looks brand new now.
My previous, more expensive Vax machine having finally died from long use, I bought this one as a replacement, and am delighted with it. It’s physically smaller and lighter than my old model, but just as powerful, and more manoeuvrable into corners etc. Mine came as an Amazon Warehouse Deal at a considerable reduction, and I couldn’t find any fault with it – the packaging was totally undamaged and the machine and accessories had obviously never been out of the box, fastened together with intact cable ties. A good buy.

After 8 years of use, i had to replace my old Vax carpet cleaner… and what a great replacement it is!!! So much better built, easy to operate, easy to clean after use. Carpet looking like new after 1st deep clean, was completely dry in about 2 hours.

Very clean carpe
My carpet was in a need for a deep clean as it’s cream, I got high quotes for professional cleaning so I thought I’d buy this instead and I’m glad I did, it really cleaned my carpet well, you could actually see how dirty the water was after I was amazed. Glad I chose this, only down side is when tank is full of water it’s quite heavy, but good excuse for the husband to clean it for me
I read loads of reviews and “top 10” reports before plumping for this model. Glad I bought it. It’s great. I bought it when we got a new puppy and it has proved invaluable for those little accidents and giving our carpets a good general clean.
I have previously rented one of the Rug Doctor commercial machines and this is lighter and just as effective. Really pleased with the results and would recommend to anyone.
Only reasons for not giving it 5 stars are; as it says in some of the reviews, it does tend to leak a bit, so you get a bit of a puddle to clean up when you turn it off. Cleaning it after use is also a bit of a pain. The dirty water collector comes apart and isn’t too bad, but the brushes are a pain to disconnect and it’s a rotten job to get the bits of fluff and dog hair out of the bristles (I found the best way was to brush them with a dog brush. The rubber pimple ones work well). I ummed and arrrred initially about this purchase, thinking that it would be more practical to go for the model that I was replacing, given that I liked it a lot and it appears to do a great job.
So pleased I made the purchase, the special offer probably helped my decision, but having now seen the results it puts my previous model to shame and it was good.
The rotating brushes make a significant contribution to ensuring the carpet is clean and seem to help lift the pile. The carpet I have just cleaned is approximately 20 years old and light in colour, usually cleaned annually. I had started cleaning the carpet with my previous model which was fortuatous, before it gave up the ghost. Hence I had a direct comparison and there was a noticeable difference.
Despite having the machine set to deep clean, the carpet was quite dry in a relatively short time, certainly dry enough to replace furniture.
The larger water capacity is a bonus and the seperate section for the detergent is a plus point because it saves on using too much detergent and the mix is measured to ensure that you don’t over soap etc.
As previously stated, I was a little hesitent about the purchase, mainly to do with price, but the result justifies the purchase and since I expect it to offer several years of service it should prove to be cost effective given how much it would cost have the carpets cleaned professionally……….. The results are definitely equal to a professional clean. I would recommend this machine. It will be used to clean the lounge soft furnishings, the stair carpet and the bedrooms. So I think, even at full price, it will definitely pay for itself

After reading the reviews I was worried about the weight and assembly. But wasn’t to bad and was easy to put together.
First use and I love it! I used it with a third party carpet cleaning fluid (bubblegum) and it has made my carpets look and smell amazing!! Highly recommend it. So easy to use!

Easy to assemble (once you wrestle it out of the box!). I previously had a Vax upright cleaner and this is a lot less noisier, though not quiet. I have a wood/coal fired stove, gun metal grey carpet and friends who frequently spill drinks on the carpet and a visiting neighbours dog – not the best of matches. I’ve done an initial deep clean and the carpet has become 2+shades lighter, even though I used my old machine last weekend and is dryer than my previous machine, though still on the damp side.I believe that if I use it again tomorrow, the carpet will be close to its original colour when fitted 2.5 years ago. It is very easy to dismantle after use for cleaning purposes – a real plus from my point of view. It is a bit on the heavy side to lift, but I would suggest that whilst relatively expensive, it is worth the investment. Very happy with it.
