En quelques minutes d’installation (trs facile), seulement trois trous percer et c’est tout, il est prt tre utilis.
Le matriel est solide, esthtique sobre malgr la taille du modle 35m, bien stable sur son support d’accroche qui se fixer fermement au mur, pivote 180 ce qui permet aussi de le plaquer au mur si on le souhaite d’un ct ou l’autre.
Le tuyau 13mm est de trs bonne qualit aussi, et livr avec un embout d’arrosage, avec la possibilit de fixer deux embouts supplmentaires sur le socle.
Le tuyau s’enroule seul et a fonctionne vraiment trs bien, fini la corve de ramassage de tuyau ou qui trane sur la pelouse.
Par contre, ne retenez pas le tuyau avec les mains prs du dvidoir lorsqu’il s’enroule, au risque de vous faire pincer les doigts lorsque la boule de retenue arrive (c’est du vcu l’instant et a ponce bien fort): laissez le s’enrouler seul, il remonte jusqu’ la bute sans aucun problme mme sur une longueur de 35m de tuyau.
Si le modle fait des bruits de “crac” bizarres au dbut comme le mien et qu’il se droule et s’enroule mal (tuyau mal positionn l’usine ou qui s’est dplac pendant le transport), il suffit de le drouler entirement, brancher l’eau pour qu’il se remplisse et le laisser quelques minutes pour qu’il se dtende, et le laisser s’enrouler seul: il se remplacera bien et ne fera plus de saccades ou bruit ( part le bruit normal du cliquet qui permet de le bloquer la longueur qu’on souhaite).
Je le conseille sans hsiter.

Excellent quality hose box
This hose box was very easy to put up on the wall. It was simply a matter of detaching the bracket and screwing that piece onto the wall and then simply fitting the hose box onto the bracket. In the winter, it would be very easy to take the hose box off the bracket and store it in the garage to keep the hose from freezing. The hose box looks heavier than it actually is.
I love the way the hose retracts into the box. That is such a welcome relief from our old hose that had to be manually wound up.
The build quality of this product is unquestionable. Highly recommended!

Wie nicht anders erwartet super verarbeitet, Besfestigungsmaterial fr die Wandmontage im Lieferumfang enthalten auch Top.
Aber vom Gefhl her sind es keine 25 Meter, ob das Stck zum Wasserhahn mit gerechnet wird, ist leider nirgendwo beschreiben.

Jahrelang hatte ich einen automatischen Schlauchaufwickler der aber sein zeitliches segnete”. Der neue Aufwickler funktioniert tadellos und ersetzt den alten bestens.

Nach 3 Monaten verzieht sich der Kunststoff und somit beginnt Trommel zu hngen. Fr das Geld echt schlecht verarbeitet. Leider erst nach 3 Monate nach montieren aufgetreten, sonst htte ich es beanstandet.

Wnschenswert wre auch eine effektivere Sicherung als nur die Kreuzschlitzschraube. Diebstahl wird da echt leicht gemacht…ich werd mir da jetzt selbst was bauen.

Habe die Schlaubox als Geburtstagsgeschenk fr meinen Schwiegersohn gekauft. Er war sofort begeistert! Das Anbringen wurde mit 2 Mann gemacht und war schnell erledigt. Zubehr war alles dabei! Funktioniert alles prima und kein lstiges Schlauch auf wickeln mehr ntig.

Zum Lieferumfang gehren neben der Schlauchbox samt Wandhalterung drei Schlauchadapter (1/2″, 3/4″, 1″), Wasser-Spritzdse, je drei Befestigungsschrauben samt Dbeln und Unterlegscheibe.
Wandhalterung und Schlauchbox lassen sich nach Lsen einer einzelnen Schraube leicht voneinander trennen (beispielsweise auch zur Einlagerung der Schlauchbox im Winter), so kann man die Wandhalterung einfach montieren. Der Wasseranschlu ist rasch und einfach vollzogen – schon funktioniert alles wie beschrieben.

Excellent quality puts hozelock to shame. Everything is connected out of the box again unlike hozelock. Took less than 10 mins to attach to wall and I’m not great at DIY. The quality of connectors and the way the hose reels in and out is unlike anything hozelock do. Switch brand you won’t be disappointed. German quality!

Aprs qques semaines d’utilisation, trs satisfait de mon achat. Drouleur en plastique, certes, mais de qualit. Le mcanisme d’enroulage fonctionne parfaitement sans tre surpuissant… Pour drouler le tuyau, il faut un peu tirer dessus quand mme. Tuyau fournit simple mais efficace.

Heute kam die Box an. Verpackung war einwandfrei keine Beschdigungenan der Box. Die Montage war sehr einfach, hab aber lieber meine Dbel genommen weil ich da etwas eigen bin.
Habe sie auch gleich mal getestet. 30 m Schlauch ausgezogen Garten gewssert und den Schlauch wieder eingerollt.
Das ausziehen geht etwas schwer, genauso wie das aufrollen etwas langsam geht. Mir persnlich gefllt das da man so beim rausziehen und aufrollen den Schlauch leichter fhren kann. Die stopp Funktion ist klasse.
Also bis jetzt bin ich voll und ganz zufrieden. Zu der Robustheit und Haltbarkeit kann ich noch nix sagen. Das kommt spter, nur soviel bei 5 Jahren Garantie wird die Qualitt und der Rest auch passen. Warten wir es ab. Erst mal in allem 5 Sterne.

Good, sturdy retractable hose that's safe to leave out over Winte
This is quite a large hose reel, which feels well-made and sturdy. The grey and white outer is quite neutral and understated in appearance. The hose reel doesn’t come with a mounting template, and the reel needs to be unscrewed from the mount before this can be attached to the wall. The supplied wall fixings are heavy duty — unsurprising considering the weight and size of the reel.
This reel is well made and robust. Despite the absence of a template, wall mounting was fairly straightforward, and the hose has a decent length tap connector, although we haven’t used this so that it is directly connected to a tap, but rather so that another hose (connected to the tap) will reach round the side of the house and connect to this reel, giving us better coverage over quite a large garden. The hose itself feels strong and reliable. This style of reel hose is very easy to use, doesn’t tangle and retracts neatly onto the reel without the end disappearing.
The real advantage this system offers over others lies in its promised frost protection technology. We have a smaller (15m) Gardena City compact hose reel, which we’ve had installed for coming up to three years now — it has done three winters outdoors — and has survived with the hose intact thanks to the effective frost protection function, so I’m satisfied that this 30m version can be safely left on the wall over Winter. Much more convenient than hoses which need to be drained and stored under cover to help prevent frost damage, particularly if under cover storage space is limited or unsuitable for the overwintering of largish garden items. Our older Gardena wall reel is a similar colour to this, and comparing the two now, the plastic on the older reel seems to have stayed looking pretty much the same rather than fading or going mottled in appearance.

Mercato, il pacco e’ arrivato esternamente mezzo distrutto, in pessime condizioni, tutto scocciato, ma il prodotto sembra non abbia niente, tranne qualche segno e qualche graffio, ma che per ora non comporta problemi all’uso, quindi anche se si poteva restituire l’ho tenuto e montato e per ora funziona regolarmente e senza problemi.

Simply the BEST
This is a very sturdy and robust hose. It was easy (for my son-in-law) to install close to our outside tap and it is now in daily use.
The pipe stays round, does not ‘kink’ or ‘flatten’ and the pressure is constant – the spray action is ideal for our garden and, possibly best of all, a quick tug and it ‘puts itself away’ this is the best garden hose we have had at any time in the past forty years.
Highly recommended.

Nach einfacher Montage ist gleich beim ersten Ausrollen die Fhrungsschiene der Aufwicklung gebrochen und das Gehuse hat sich verzogen.Der Austausch ging blitzschnell und bis jetzt (nach 1 Monat) funktioniert alles.Hoffentlich auch lnger.

Amazing quality. I honestly didn’t expect the hose box to be so big as it’s only 25meters. The box is 17in x 25in x 10in so you need a space for it on the wall. Weight is 10kg. We have just placed a decking on our garden so where our old hose box was placed before is now our grill area and I thought I could still squeeze it in without a problem but it’s just too big. We had to place it farther cos eventhough it can swivel to the side it would hit the gutter pipe. So the size of this box should be considered before buying. Installation is straightforward with good and heavy duty fixings supplied. Once installed, the magic happens. This is really great and effortless to use. No more winding back the hose manually after use. It will automatically roll back if you tug it. The hose spray head is basic but good and can be easily replaced with your preferred one. Build and material is really good like any Gardena products. Just make sure you have a space for it.

The hose box came with full detailed instruction ,and if the book seems complicated, you can always check the installation video .
As these is a heavy unit ,all installation must be done properly using the right required tools for a good result.

Good but bulky
Great very well engineered and made product.
Comes with all you need and decent instructions on how to wall mount. Long solid hex bolt/screws and wall plug are supplied.
It works great – pull to extract the hose then relax a little and it locks in place, another little pull and release and it retracts pretty rapidly.
Good solid hoselock style fittings and the adjustable spray nozzle looks pretty good and works ok.
My only real niggle is how big this is which made it difficult to find a location that wouldn’t cause us an issue but then for something that does this job its probably difficult to make it smaller and still solid
Pretty heavy
I’ve been using this hose reel for some time now and it has been absolutely brilliant!
It has been outside all the time, through hot summer, and it still looking good.
The hose reel has been excellent.
It has been used throughout this summer to clean the dog and the cars, and during the growing season for watering the garden.
The pull out is easy and the return is gentle
No leaks and it still retract with just as much pull as when it was first installed.
So far I’m very impressed . Only downside is this whole unit is pretty heavy.

It’s great ergonomically, it’s light and has a ball at the end of the hosefor you to grip onto easily.

Worth every penny for the quality, convenience and functionality.
I was pleased to try this ‘Wall hose box RollUp M / L (white) 25 m’. I have a good hose but as I have mobility problems I am finding it increasingly hard to wind it onto the reel – this automatic winder should be a great boon.
1. You get the assembled hose on its wall bracket, along with chunky screw/bolts, rawl plugs, three tap connectors and a traditional spray attachment.
2. You have to undo one screw that holds the hose container onto the wall bracket. This will be really handy to remove it for winter storage – just leaving the bracket attached to the wall.
3. Fitting the bracket to the wall was easy, after measuring, using a hammer drill to get through our stonework. My husband fitted it for me, without any trouble and he hates DIY.
4. It has to be near to an outside tap and you need to drill into the brickwork and not into the mortar for a good hold. Mine feels extremely well held now. The unit will swing left to right against the wall and will easily face forward, what ever angle you want.
4. Trying it out was a joy. You just pull and it comes out and locks when you stop, so you don’t need to be constantly ‘pulling’ while using it. To get it to go back you pull a little again and then just walk back with it – the hose cleverly goes back, running side to side in the casing to ‘stack’ it neatly. No knots or tangles here!
5. The spray nozzle is effective and you can store it under the unit along with a space for another spray gun – they hang easily
6. This 25metre hose reaches to the bottom of our garden or around the house into the front garden, with more left over on the reel. It was a joy to just walk back from the front garden with it rather then my old hose needing two people – one to wind the hose onto the reel and one to prevent tangles and guide it back.
7. I am in love with this hose and the quality is fantastic in my opinion.
8. It is a lot to pay for a hose but worth every penny for the quality, convenience and functionality.

At first Glance it looks expensive for what it is but I think there is a Valid reason in this Case
ok so The Build quality right out of the Box is Good it is EU made so to be honest even the Plastics feel a better quality and durable its very Heavy and you may need a Hand when installing this as it can be tricky drilling and setting it level on your own
It comes with 3 wall plugs and 3 Bolts that will need a ratchet or spanner to tighten up properly 6 to 8 mil i think
after setting it up which took around a hour i was right away impressed with the hose rail it can feel a little stiff to unroll at first but after one or two uses that should ease up there is grease on bits of the hose as i unrolled it but thats nothing to worry about it is lubricating fluid from the factory and will do its job as you use it it will distribute itself if there is too much for any reason it s fine to wipe off and its normal nothing to worry about
there is a rubber ball that acts as a stopper when fully contracted
The hose is 30 meters and feels good quality and flexible so easily laps around my house even out my gate i could clean my car at the top of the street
its great to put the hose away and easy all you need to do is give it a little tug like a seatbelt but in reverse as a seat belt locks with a jolt this contracts instead as it contract back it feeds itself perfectly you will see the rail slide left and right to even out the roll as it coils back up NO MORE TANGLED Hoses YES
i Have a tangled hose at least once a week plus my dog likes to pee near it which then needs disinfectant and swilling before use all those issues gone now
The hose also comes with a adjustable nozel that locks onto your hose at the rear of the box there is a second hose this is the piece that goes to your wall tap or hose extension
the nozel can be adjusted to spray a wide angle light spray or turned to Jet which is reasonably powerful its good enough to clean the yard etc but obviously not as good as a pressure washer
I had issues with a rotten wall at the back so the first attempt at fitting failed and i moved the box onto A lancashire stone wall where its solid so luckily i have a long enough hose to couple it still but you may need to plan your location as once fitted its kind of perminant so near your wall tap or create an extension
There is UV protection on the plastic but i guess only time will tell with that one its design is good because it swings so can be swung around when needed there are also some small release screws on the back of the hinges so it can be removed and stored in winter etc or for security if your going on holiday
over all i was very impressed with this and it makes everything 10 times easier in the garden for me i have to wash the Yard daily and car weekly using a 4 year old hose with a modern trigger
I did notice the cheaper un branded trigger and hose connections i have all fit but there was slight leakage but when using GARDENA provided nozel or More suited ones there were no leaks
I think this is expensive but in its defence iv never seen anything like it that is so well built and functional

Expensive, but good quality
Opening the shipping carton, you will find that this comes fully assembled and ready to go. The hose is already in the cassette and the cassette is already connected to the wall bracket. In theory it would be possible to use the hose right away without mounting it to a wall, it even comes with a small foot on the bottom of the cassette which stops it falling over when placed on the floor. However, in practice you would need someone to hold the cassette still on the ground as you pull the hose out as this takes significant effort. Despite the presence of the foot, this is really only designed to be used when attached to a wall.
Make sure you read the instructions provided, as it isn’t obvious the wall bracket can be removed from the hose cassette. You need to separate the two before fitting, unless you want to make mounting it to a wall very difficult for yourself.
The hose cassette with hose inside weighs approx. 12Kg. Three 6cm long coach screws are provided, along with raw plugs and washers. There are no extra fixing holes available, so you will need to make sure these 3 fixing points are very secure when you fit it. Be aware that you will need to provide your own spanner or 10mm hex socket to be able to tighten these coach screws.
If you are wondering about the ‘(white)’ part of the product description as the cassette is obviously black. The ‘white’ refers to a plastic circle which is present on each side of the cassette. It appears removable, so it may be possible to swap it out for other colours. In terms of accessories, you get an adjustable hosepipe spray nozzle and 3 different adaptors for connecting the cassette input hose to a threaded tap spout (1″, 3/4″ and 1/2″ – aka 33, 26 and 20mm).
The hose cassette, when fitted to a wall and at 90 degrees to the wall, stands approx. 72cm proud of the wall (65 for the cassette and an additional 17 for the hose end which cant fully be pushed back inside the cassette). When swivelled to be horizontal with the wall it stands just 26cm proud. Unless you have masses of space, you may want to fit the wall bracket in a position which caters for the cassette being folded flat against the wall when not in use.
Additionally, in terms of where to mount the cassette you may need to consider the length of the water input hose (1.4m) and place the cassette within that distance of your outside tap, unless you use further extensions.
The provided hose is the Gardena Classic 13mm aka 1/2″ hose. This has a 22bar burst pressure and is UV resistant. Gardena also make three higher quality hoses which are available with more expensive cassette kits. Their top of the range hose goes up to 35 bar, though if you aren’t using high-end pressure washers the basic hose should be fine. Just be aware that despite its quite high price, this is actually the budget end of the Gardena range.
You may have already spotted in the product description; this comes with what Gardena call ‘RollControl technology’; as you retract the hose after use a mechanism moves back and forth and distributes the hose evenly across the roller inside the cassette to keep it tidy. At the moment this seems to work OK, but I wonder about its long-term functionality. You may need to lubricate this periodically after you have had it a while.
As other reviews have mentioned, it does take quite a lot of force to pull the hose out of the cassette, but the trade-off for this is that it has plenty of power to pull it back in again once you are done. Emptying the hose of as much water as you can before retracting helps with this. The only issue I had was that occasionally I would tug ‘incorrectly’ to pull out a bit more hose and trigger the rewind when I didn’t want it. It is probably something that won’t occur once you get used to how much you want to pull out each time you use it.
My belief is that at least some of the negative reviews about it arriving in a scratched used condition are because of the rather sparse packing material. When I opened my shipping carton, I was shocked at how little support such a large and heavy item had. Inevitably these are going to get thrown around inside their boxes and no surprises really that some arrive with scratches or even broken parts.
You are paying extra for the Gardena name. This does mean you likely get some extra quality in return, but at this price you may want to consider stepping up a little more and getting one of their kits with the slightly more robust hoses.

Buy quality, buy once
This is a very good quality hose and box and is by some margin the best quality example of this that I have used, and you would of course expect that given the purchase price being the best part of 100 for a 20m hose. Sometimes it really does pay to get the best hose system you can afford, as in my experience cheaper hoses don’t last and you end up buying again.
What makes this hose so exceptional is not only the quality of the hose and fittings, but the smooth operation of the box and the simplicity of rolling it in and out. No more hoses left snaking across the garden for me, as it’s simple and easy to use and put away with this system. Because of that functionality it also means that you’ll get far less wear and tear on the hose which increases longevity.
The features, such as roll control and short stop technology makes using this hose system a pleasure, and the 180 degree swivel on the wall holder is helpful for directing the hose at different parts of the garden easily. It’s easy to fit with even limited DIY knowledge and all the fittings are provided. So I’m very happy with this and have no hesitation in recommending.

I’ve just moved to a new house and I finally have an outside tap which is why I was excited to after I ordered this.
I hadn’t realised there was a tap in the garden and was thinking how I would get it to work for me if I mounted it in the garden near the kitchen door then figure out how to attach the hose to my kitchen tap . Well I don’t need to do that or worry about that anymore.
Anyway back to the hose. It’s absolutely perfect for me. It’s long enough to water all my plants as well as it being great that the hose is housed neatly away once I’ve finished with it.
It comes in 3 different lengths 15,20 & 25m respectively and can swivel making it very easy to use in different directions. My garden is small so I don’t need to worry about the swivel but it will be useful for large gardens.
So should be long enough for average size gardens if not there is a connector that can be purchased separately if the hose is not long enough. So If I need to use it out front I can

Super automatische Aufrollschlauchbox
Sehr praktisch wenn man keine Mauer zur Verfgung hat, steht Bombenfest und funktioniert einwandfrei.
When this got delivered I was suprised the package was massive so expect a large heavy delivery there is alot of weight to this hose.
This was alot easier to set up than expected it takes 3 large screws/bolts to mount it to the wall screws and rawl plugs provided
Fix to a wall not a fence I don’t think a fence would take the weight in the long term.
You will need a 8mm masonry drill bit to do the holes for the wall itnonly took about 10/15 mins to fix this all up.
The bracket comes off the hose box to fix it to the wall then you just slot the hose box back on once it’s fitted and one small screw to keep it secured on.
Once all set up there is an ease of moment the hone box swivels on the bracket well but secure.
The hose has all connectors to attach to tap and few spares.
It has a standard basic flow spray nozzel on it when it arrives but personally I prefer a trigger gun and the one I had just clipped in place like with any other hose.
The hose is really long covers my whole garden which is about 17meters long with plenty spare.
Hose pulls out easily on a self recoil.
When you want to put it away just pull it a little and it will start to roll itself back in at a decent speed its not slow. No need to mess about self windinding by hand and the best part about the hose box self recoil is itnwont knot up inside either as you can see from he video attached the mechanism moves side to side as it rolls up to give it a even roll.and won’t get all knotted inside.
At first when I looked at the price I thort it was expensive but the quality and ease of use of this hose it is worth every penny
Where to start with this rollup hose, well I’ll start by saying it’s one of the best products I’ve received!
When it first arrived the box was huge. I was slightly apprehensive that I’d received a hose they would ordinarily fit on a fire engine. It was heavy too but once opened it seemed to be of a more normal size.
You get the bolts needed in the box, rings and plugs. You get three different width screw adapters for your outside tap. An adjustable hose head (you turn for your desired pressure and flow rate) and you have the hose and housing unit too.
I have changed the hose head over to my own gun as I like more control but I’m keeping the original one as it’s pretty decent for swilling and filling my hottub. Just clips in when needing to change this over.
You’re going to need a pozy screw driver, 8mm drill bit (obviously a drill) and spanner/wrench. I prefer to use a wrench with bolt heads as it’s less time consuming when fixing and easier when you’re on the final tightening, nothing worse than scratching up knuckles either. If I remember correctly I used a 12mm head for the bolts when fixing.
You’ll find the release screw for the pivot neck just below the lower connection. Undo this and the wall brace will come apart. Align where you want it, mark with a sharpy and drill the holes.
It was so easy to fit. It took me literally ten mins on my own. Once the brace is on the wall just sit the hose housing back and rescrew the locking screw back. Just reverse what you did prior.
Now I found the plastic adapter for my outside tape wasn’t the best quality. I attached a brass two-way splitter as I like to be able to use my watering can and fill buckets. The 3/4 one with it needed tightening as there was dripping and the grip spanner I used really dug into it. Could imagine that failing within no time.
For the price of this I would have expected brass fitments but you can buy them easily enough so it’s no biggy.
The hose inside the housing is the solid reinforced plastic types. Not the expansion ones you see that claim to stretch to five times their length. Absolutely fantastic as it’s 30m worth of hose and allows high-pressure, as well as being able to use with my Kartcher K7.
It allows me to get to the front of my home with several meters still rolled up! Honestly I’m over the moon with this as I’ve managed to clean the car without needing to ask neighbours to move their cars.
It’s simple to use and just take your time to get used to it. I hadn’t used one before, you just gently pull the hose and it will unravel, once you stop it will lock at that length. To release, stand next to the housing and gently pull away – then allow it to pull back – and it will automatically roll back into it.
The pivot hinge allows you to stand either side of the garden and pull it towards that area and swings with ease to the direction you’re stood at. There’s a ball shaped plug that prevents it from pulling the hose back into the housing once you reach the end.
You can swing it to sit flat against the wall so it’s out of the way when not in use.
The pressure was higher than my old hose, I don’t know how it does this as my old hose was on a plastic ring frame but the weight would always press down, so I would have to completely unravel. Not with this, it was high and consistent throughout. I didn’t get my usually drops up and down either.
The instructions state that this can indeed be left out during winter. Just empty it fully before leaving it and you’ll have no issues. I noticed others suggesting that you had to bring it in. This isn’t the case.

LASTLY TIGHTEN THE SCREW UNDERNEATH USING YOUR PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER. JOB DONE. NOW THAT YOUR BOX IS IN PLACE JUST CONNECT IT TO YOUR STANDPIPE. THAT’S IT. THE HOSE PIPE WHEN PULLED OUT CLICKS EVERY SO OFTEN. IT WILL THEN STAY AT THAT LENGTH. WHEN YOU WANT TO REWIND THE HOSE WHICH IS 25M ( 82 feet ) IN LENGTH, PULL IT OUT FURTHER AND THE HOSE WILL AUTOMATICALLY REWIND. THIS IS A GREAT FEATURE AS IT AVOIDS TANGLES. THE CONNECTORS FITTED TO MY EXISTING QUADRUPLE STAND PIPE ATTACHMENT WITH NO LEAKS WHATSOEVER. ALL CONNECTIONS AND ACTIONS ARE VERY SMOOTH INDEED. I HAPPEN TO FIND IT ALSO LOOKS VERY STYLISH WITH THE HOSEPIPE OUT OF SIGHT. WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS HOSE BOX ? MOST DEFINITELY

100 times best than Hoselock
I did not know Gardena invented the quick click hoselock mechanism I always thought it was Hoselock that came up with it first. Anyway this is brilliant quality from Gardena German made product. I am getting to love there garden products and I have a few now the quality of this one is 100 times better than Hoselock that I use to buy and I mean everything Hoselock for watering things I’ve had. Easy to bolt to the wall and you get all the bolts and plugs you need. Then this just slides on and you get a locking pin so someone cannot just lift it off and away with it. It pulls out easy all the way and it retracts very easy too moving right to left on it’s own with the mechanism inside it’s brilliant we love it.

I have often found that adverts for such things as garden items or general tools are shown much bigger than they actually are: not so this hose box set. It is heavy and very big. When the courier delivered it I noticed that in contrast to what is usual he put the box containing the hose box on a trolley. I thought oh my this is going to be ‘really’ heavy. No, its heavy, but being in its own manufacturers box inside Amazon’s box made holding it a bit out of balance -hence the trolley, I think.
So, to sum up it is large, relatively heavy and therefore needs a good solid wall to install it on. The overall build quality is very high; I can see why they guarantee this for such a length of time.
Built to last, but rather expensive.
This is a heavy unit (15kg dry) but most of that is the reel itself. The bracket is quite light and easy to install though.
You get the bracket, fixings, hose reel, spray head and connector lead from the reel to your tap. Everything you need. Once installed you slip the reel in and tighten up a couple of screws and it’s ready.
The reel runs smoothly and retracts easily. It’s really does just what you need and the only negatives are the price (which is really quite steep) and the large ‘bird nest’ sized hole. I’ve had Robbins looking in there a few hours after installing it. I used a short length of gutter brush to seal it off, and also provide a way of cleaning the hose when it’s retracted.

Unico neo, per quel che mi riguarda, se serve per un orto il tubo non resta teso, e a volte l’arrotolamento si blocca, se non si f attenzione si corre il rischio di spezzare le piantine. Conviene sdrotolare il necessario posando in una zona priva da sementi o piante e muoversi liberamente. Sicuroho cambiato il terminale in dotazione preferendo pi una pistola con maniglia.

Teuer, aber perfek
Die Qualitt und Funktionalitt ist sehr gut. Zum Abwickeln des Schlauches braucht man allerdings Kraft. Die Montage hat 5 Minuten gedauert. Hoffentlich lange haltbar.

In recent years I’ve been using the hoses that extend when the tap is turned on. They’re OK, but need a fair amount of water pressure before they extend and this is sometimes more pressure than you want/need. Plus you have to be careful not to leave the tap on when the water’s shut off at the other end of the hose, otherwise they can balloon and split. They also look untidy when not in use.
This hose from Gardena looked like a great alternative.
The unit comes with the mounting bracket, screws/washers, raw plugs, a short length of hose (about 1.5 metres long) to connect the unit to your tap, various attachments that will screw on to your outdoor tap in different sizes, a spray head and a manual. Initially I had leaks below the tap, but when I replaced my original plastic tap connector, with the equivalent supplied in the box, the leaks stopped completely! The Gardena part was better than my original, which may have perished a bit at the seals.
I have the 20m hose, I believe the mounting bracket is different for longer versions. Installation took me about half an hour, but most of that was spent locating the right tools, it could probably be done in about 10 minutes. I placed the mounting bracket in the place that I wanted the hose to be, and aligned the 3 holes in the bracket with mortar rather than brick faces (less cosmetic damage involved and easier to drill) and marked where the holes in the bracket were with a pencil. I then used an 8mm masonry drill bit to drill to a depth equal to the length of the raw plugs. I ended up just drilling the top 2 holes, as the screws and raw plugs are quite hefty and most of the stress will be on these 2 screws. I tapped in the raw plugs with a hammer. You need the correct sized spanner (or an adjustable one) to then get the screws tightened up. I’d recommend using all 3 screws, but I wanted to drill as few holes as possible and I’m pretty confident about the top 2 holding.
Once the bracket is mounted, it’s just a case of removing the front section, sliding the main unit in, replacing the front section, inserting/tightening 2 screws and connecting the short length of hose. Job done!
To use, grab the end of the hose, give it a good pull until it’s at the length that you want and let the hose wind back a little. It then locks at that length. You do need to give it a reasonably good tug, but this is generating the energy for winding the hose back in. When you’re finished, give the hose a tug and release and it will wind all the way back into the housing automatically. Excellent! No issues with the hose sitting unevenly in its housing or getting jammed — it just works.
The unit seems sturdy, and looks nice/tidy. It can swivel 180 degrees which is useful. The ‘rewind’ mechanism seems strong and has no issues winding back the full 20m length even when it is dragging along the ground and full of water.
This hose system is ideal if you have to water plants daily but don’t want a long hose lying around making your garden look untidy. I’ve used manual systems that involve cranking a handle, but the hose always seems to coil up unevenly causing issues. This has a mechanism to ensure that this never happens — see my video. The hose is fed steadily from right to left and back as it retracts.
I can’t fault the quality or ease of use.
If I’m being really picky, the price seems a little bit high (I’m no expert in top-of-the-line hose prices though), but otherwise, this is a great bit of kit — highly recommended.

Tolle Qualitt, nicht zu vergleichen mit unserer Billigsdorfer Schlauchtrommel am anderen Hauseck. Optisch auch ein dezenter Augenschmaus. Einzig die Arretierschraube war mau und ist beim Rausdrehen schon verrieben, aber die kann man einfach gegen eine andere Schraube gleicher Lnge tauschen. Soll ja nur verhindern, dass die Trommel unbeabsichtigt aus der Halterung kippt. Der Aufrollmechanismus funktioniert perfekt, der Verbindungsschlauch knnte ein bisschen lnger sein, lsst sich aber mit einer male-male Kupplung berbrcken.
FAZIT: lieber teurer kaufen, als irgendein billiges Teil, dass nicht richtig funktioniert.

Well made hose and reel device that works well
With this self-storing hose reel you get 3 rawl plugs and large bolt-type screws, plus 3 different sized tap fittings and a spray end. The reel is reasonably heavy so the holes you need to drill require an 8mm masonry bit. The screws have 10mm bolt ends so you need a spanner or a ratchet to tighten them. It took me about half an hour to install the hose on my own.
Once installed it works like a dream, you pull out as much hose as you need (up to 25 metres in my case) and the brake automatically applies itself to stop the hose going back into the reel. Once you’ve finished you can just give the hose a little pull-then-release and it will start reeling itself back in. The mechanism is really cleaver and the hose feeder moves back and forth across the reel to make sure the hose winds up evenly. It is a bit noisy when it’s winding up but that’s the only criticism I can think of.
The hose itself is thick and well reinforced so should last a very long time. The spray end is great and goes from a wide, fine spray to a jet of water as you twist the end (see video). You also twist the end to turn it on and off.
In summary, this hose reel is really very good quality. It’s very convenient, not difficult to mount on a wall and should last a lifetime.
