Must have for vans
I bought this to replace my old 10″ mirror style dash cam. Works great. Only issue I have is sometimes it boots with the front dash cam on the screen rather than the rear. Apart from that no issues. Works with the next base hard wire kit.
The most amazing thing
I’m truly happy with this product. 100% recommend it and you will be happier than previously.
The dash cam is very high quality and you will be in much safer hands.
Then, their customer support is absolutely next level, I haven’t seen anything like it in a while. They’ll assist you all the way and be so nice. Truly a company I’ll be looking into from now on when in need of products of such sort.
Safety mirro
My son is delighted with this item, does so many things pertaining to safety, but just looks and acts like a rearview mirror as his van doesn’t have one. Gives amazing view of rear for reversing.
Can be very helpful in an accident or collision.
There are issues with many of these products namely;
1. You can be dazzled by rear oncoming headlights to the point where you are forced to rely on your left side mirror which itself may be a danger when overtaking or changing lanes as you have to temporarily but maybe repeatable take your eyes off the road.
2. Any dirt, water, rain or snow may effectively obliterate your rear camera view.
3. If you rely on distance or varyfocal spectacles your mirror view could be a varying degrees of focus as there is no depth of sight on the mirror.
4. It can cost you up to 200 to have it professionally fitted.
Amazing customer service
My WOLFBOX G840S 12″ rear camera started saying rear camera not detected and eventually stopped working. Contacted Amazon and I was directed to Wolfbox customer service team. Got a response within 24hrs and an upgrade WDR rear camera that helps deal with glare at night! Only issue was I had to run the wires from rear of the car to front again as the pin sizes are different but other from that, it works fine.
Fantastic produc
I replaced a cheap reverse mirror/camera with the wolfbox 840s and I couldn’t be more delighted with it, there customer service is second to none, so thank you wolfbox.
great piece of kit loved it but.....
loved this camera from the start easy to fit very good night vision but after only 6 months the rear camera has packed up but yeah I’m considering just to use now as front camera only anyway still gets 5 stars !
The picture is crystal clea
Fantastic dash cam I bought two of these first one was brilliant, as so was the second one. The problem with the second one, he didn’t have the option for the time so where you selected and set the time it wasn’t displayed as you can see in the video the other thing to note with this dish dash cam is that you need the wolf box hardware kit if you’re going to hardwire it. Update I tried unplugging the GPS sensor and now the option to set the clock appears. Set the clock no problem and it stays at the correct tim. However soon as you plug the GPG sensor back in the correct time is not displayed and time and date settings disappear. So I’ve left the GPS sensor unplugged. This is the only way to get the correct time displayed. As you need it in the event of an accident. Hope this helps.
I recently acquired the Dashcam G840H, hoping for the Wi-Fi variant. Regrettably, the unit I received was not equipped with Wi-Fi, indicating it might be older stock. Please keep this in mind if you’re considering a purchase. On a positive note, the customer service I received was outstanding. They were quick to address any outstanding issues and very easy to work with.
Good quality, user friendly, reasonable price
G840H is a very good mirror dash cam compared with other brands I used before. The picture quality for this one is very good, easy to navigate and the price is reasonable. I love this one and would recommend my friend to try.
Great viewing angles
The cameras have amazing viewing angles. You can pan up and down to see specific parts of the camera view. Useful if you want the rear camera as Both a rear view camera and a reversing camera.
The customer service is excellent. They replaced a faulty unit quickly and kept in contact.
Dash-cam upgrade
The product is great as it’s an upgrade from my previous dash-cam that I had. Very clear and easy to use + install. The support received was amazing and I am happy with the quality of the product.
Very impressed
Very late review, on my part…. I had a few problems with the installation,(Bloomin Japanese import, lol) which Amber sorted out straight away. Absolutely brilliant and friendly service.
The image is fantastic, front, and rear. Better than my phone camera gives it credit. It does suffer with sun flare on the rear camera and night vision headlight flare. I’ve improved the rear camera by putting it on the inside of my hatch. Attached it to one of those stick on adjustable magnetic mobile phone holders. This is a million times better than a previous, older version, which I left on the car I traded in. I did not fit this for about a month or so, while looking for a new car, Then found the cigarette lighter socket powers off with the ignition off. The hardwire kit I had was the wrong one. Contacted Amber, and she said she would send one out, 4 days later I have it. Has good instruction for fitted it in the fuse box. Would most definitely buy again.
Great product and helpfull customer service
I choose this dashcam because my van doesn’t have a rear window (its commercial van), so definitely I need camera to view behind especially when I reverse the van, this WOLFBOX G840S come with wide 4K UHD 12″ screen that can give you clear view during day and night. Bit difficult to install since my van doesn’t have a rear mirror, so I use Car DVR Rear View Mirror Mounting Bracket with rear-view mirror base holder to hold the dashcam. Overall, the product is easy to install and friendly to use.
There are two reviews here. G840S & G840H

Review for G840S:
Although initially I though the device is quite bulky, after installation and setup I quickly changed my mind. I had doubts that the device will ‘fit’ my mirror but once again I was wrong. Just after few seconds of moving it around it fit perfectly and I was stunned how securely it holds.
Installation: one important thing to remember is that the camera is on one side of the device as such the device itself will slide more to one of the sides of your mirror. Initially I thought that this will bring the ‘picture’ too close to my face, but actually it feels very natural and comfortable.
Video: I have different 4k camera in another vehicle and after few days of driving and comparing the quality it is hard distinguish the difference. Needless to say, I spent a lot of time doing my research before the purchase, so when this one landed on my lap I was surprised with this shot in the dark.
Box: the box comes with a number of gadgets that you can but don’t have to use.
1) Beside the camera itself and the mounts, you can use the GPS device. This is not compulsory, but if you want the GPS/speedometer info, it’s a must. The add on is very small, consequently you can conveniently install it behind the mirror. From driver’s perspective you won’t see it at all and it won’t impact your vision.
2) The other device is the reverse camera that captures picture in the industry standard (for reverse cameras) of 1080p. Initially I thought that the 140 angle on reverse camera (170 front) is insufficient but after driving a few days, I can confirm it’s perfect. After reviewing videos I have no problems reading number plates, so in the case of unfortunate accident, you can stay assured, the evidence will be there.
3) Cloth, nice bonus for cleaning the camera or device itself
4) Plastic wedge to feed and hide the cable during installation
5) Few cable holders (there are doing just fine during hot day). Also they can be used multiple times so if you decide to swap the cable (during hardwire installation) this can be done easily. Before installing one or few make sure you are confident if your choice as they hold very well.
6) Power adapter
7) Instructions
Build quality: The device feels nice in hand. You get the premium feeling and after opening the box, I almost felt like it’s Christmas.
Pros: Material, Quality, Ease of installation
Cons: this one is difficult. NONE in short, but if I was to try and find one thing I don’t like, well… not for me but the reverse camera cannot be mounted directly on the window. I know there are people who would prefer do it. Consequently its a matter of preference I guess. Would be nice to have an option to chose which reverse camera option you prefer… but I’m nitpicking now.

Review for G840H:
It pleases me to be given opportunity to once again test another product of this company. A frind of mine was recently involved in a car accident and regrets not having one.
Cutting to the chase just like G840S, the G840H provides you with the same quality feeling. The reverse camera feels heavy, but it must be due to its very good build quality. I have seen some plastic reverse cameras which I would not risk putting outside of the car, but this one, without a doubt in my mind can be easily installed over your number plate and configured with the DashCam to be your reverse prinking camera.
The box comes with everything you need to do the initial installation. If you need the 24/7 parking mode enabled, a hardwire kit is required. This is standard across the industry. The hardwire kit is not expensive and you can get a good one for areound 25.
Picture quality:
The camera records in 1440P and can be configured in settings to use either H.264 or H.265 compression. On the paper, 265 is better as offers better compression and more footage on the same memory card. In my private opinion I prefer the old H.264. I found it provides marginally better quality picture and the loss in form of bigger video files is the price I’m prepared to pay. Let’s be honest, the 256GB cards are not that expensive these days.
Reverse camera records at 1080P which is industry standard.
Front and back camera angle coverage:
Front record at 170 and captures nicely everything you need, even vehicles that are practically parked next to you. Back camera provides 140 degrees angle and this is everything you will ever need. There is currently nothing with wider angle or better quality from what I can see, but you are welcome to do your research.
Memory card:
The box comes with 32GB memory card. This is perfect to get the DashCam up and running straight away, nevertheless I do recommend upgrading to at least 128GB, or 256GB if you plan on using parking more.
Installation:
This cannot be any simpler. If you don’t count the time to plug it into the power source, I doubt it will take you more than 30 seconds to get in installed. It’s hard to describe it, but my advise it to simply put it over the mirror and wiggle around until you feel it sits comfortably, and then secure with straps.
Settings:
The camera has a huge screen and it is super easy to configure from software perspective. I do prefer this over cameras that need to be connected to over iOS/Android system. It is super responsive and provides immediate feedback.
Box:
Comes with everything you will need to get the device up and running. I have attached picture with items available in the G840H box.
Pros:
Just like G840H, the product is of premium quality. Also, if you like to see clearly what is behind you and could use a bit of zoom, think no more. The dash cam screen is big enough to provide you just that, and not big to make you feel like it covers the windscreen. Further to the above the cam comes with GPS so it can also record your speed and location. This is a huge advantage in case you have an unfortunate encounter and someone refuses to accept liability.
Cons:
This is more of preference. Although the 1440P video is perfectly sufficient to read the numberplates and to be used as evidence, I do prefer the 4k quality cams. If this is also your preference G840S from the same seller ticks all the boxes.
The Wolfbox G840s is a really great Dash Cam, with both front and rear cameras. The build quality of the item is excellent and the clarity of the camera is very good. The ultra wide angle lens of the front facing camera lets you capture all the area of the road in front of you and you can choose the length of each video you record between 1 and 3 minutes which makes them easy to find when scrolling back through them.
The Dash Cam gives you a 12″ mirror which clips over you existing car mirror and the camera angle is adjustable so that you can get the perfect view angle. Easy to install, comes complete with a plastic “Crowbar” to enable you conceal cables behind vehicle lining. The rear facing camera can be installed inside the car or outside (Outside is recommended) and can also be connected to the reversing light which will bring on the Das Cam with reversing view to assist parking if required
After sales service is also excellent, I had a couple of questions which I asked by email and I got a response with the answers within 24 hours.
I would certainly recommend Wolfbox Dash Cam’s, they are very well made. and the after sales team were extremely helpful.
Great Panoramic View, Installation Difficulties and Auto-Recording Issue"
I love the dashcam I bought for my car. It has a fantastic panoramic view that shows both the front and rear clearly. It’s especially helpful when I have passengers in the backseat blocking my rearview mirror.
However, there are two concerns:
1. The 24-hour recording feature is difficult to install if you’re not familiar with mechanics, and there’s an additional cost for the wolfbox hardwire.
2. After using it for about two weeks, I noticed that the auto-recording sometimes stops and the dashcam turns off and reboots on its own. The manufacturer should address this issue.
Top tier gea
This thing is just something you need as a driver. I had a normal dashcam until someone bumped the back of my car. After that, my head kept telling me I need a rear view camera and this is amazing.
You can split the screen to show front and back, move the camera screen up and down to make parking easier when reversing and the extra GPS box shows your speed, so it’s your insurance if someone says you were speeding if you get a knock.
Highly recommended. Ignore the price, it’s worth it!
Has high-quality cameras for both front and back of vehicle. The rear camera, power cable and GPS sensor make three wires, so be prepared to pull your car apart a bit if you want them out of the way.
The clear, panoramic view fed to your mirror from the rear camera lets you see so much more than a traditional rear-view mirror. Even if turn off the feed you still get a nice big mirror with front and rear recordings going on in the background.
If you’re willing to spend an evening getting it all set up and working, you’ll come away with a really useful and fun gadget for your vehicle.
After more than a year of use, I damaged my rear camera. The support team were really great about it and sent me a replacement right away. I’m very pleased with purchase and how well I’ve been looked after by the company.
Great item and the customer service is A*****
Had this item for over a year now, back camera started to play up and stopped working, contacted Wolfbox even though it was over the 12 month guarantee and they sent me out a new one free of charge! Great customer service and were so helpful, I love the item and going to get another for my partners car, highly recommend
It works sound. However, the screws are too small to fit the rear cam. My friends have also found such problems. We have to use the screws bought by ourselves to fit it. My friends had already raised such problem to the Seller several months ago but no improvement yet.
Fitted this camera myself after watching a few YouTube videos pretty straight forward on the zafiraB model.
Cables were just long enough for the front camera to do a proper install, left top window, down side window along and down side of door opening through glove compartment, and through centre console out to the cig lighter.
Took around 30 mins.
Camera itself if super easy to use touch screen, and can be turned off to just use as a normal rear view mirror if you don’t want the screens on.
Rear view mirror was also very easy to fit taking less time at 20 mins.
Again good camera image quality.
And can have both screen side by side or rear or front can be selected with a swipe of the screen its that easy.
I would recommend these to any of my friends and family so also a reader of this review you won’t be dissapointed.

Quality product and excellent customer service
Took a while to decide on which dashcam to purchase, but certainly not disappointed with the Wolfbox.
Take your time to plan your cabling route then installation is simple. I had everything installed, including the cables tidied away, in just over 1hr. User interface is intuative and straight forwards. Customer service has been first class too. Great help from Alice who replies to emails very quickly. Would definitely purchase again and would recommend to others.
When I purchased this product the instructions were not in English. I tried to contact WOLFBOX on several occasions but had no joy.
Finally after about three weeks of trying I managed to get a response.
I was told that their computer system was not working! This was after three weeks! I was about to send the product back.
However, glad I didn’t!
As it happens you don’t really need instructions everything is self explanatory on screen, apart from attaching the wire for the reversing lines.
I am in co contact with the company now and they text me occasionally to see if I’m happy with the product.
The product! It’s amazing!! I tried to send a vid but can’t attach it, it must be too long.
The quality and clarity of the product is better than expected. I fitted this to a T2 bay camper van and mounted the rear view camera on the roof. The beauty of this is I can stack in the back of the van and don’t need the rear window to see out of.
Both cameras, front and back give a wide view angle and when I see the vehicle behind disappear from view, I can look to my right and it’s visible from the side window. It was a bit of a fiddle hiding the wires but they do enclose a tool to assist.
I can’t fault the product, it does everything you, I, want it to.
I do hope it stands the test of time but feel sure if it doesn’t I will get help from the company.
Sorry I can’t attach the vid, you will have to take my word, it was good.
I purchased this Wolfbox camera nearly 2 years ago now. Unfortunately I recently had a problem where we were losing the picture from the rear camera. There was clearly a loose connection somewhere.
I figured I would purchase a new rear camera and a new rear camera cable but didn’t know how I can get hold of these separately (you can via their website). I emailed their customer service address to find out this information and amazingly a rep named Mia said she would sort the parts and send them to me free of charge. I was amazed in all honesty, not only had they agreed to sort the problem for me but it would cost me nothing. A few days later I received the parts and it’s running perfectly again.
It’s not often, particularly these days, you get companies that are happy to help and look after old customers. It’s usually a case of gaining new customers and making as much money from the old ones as possible. But I can confirm that Wolfbox are not like that. Fantastic customer service. No robot response and no refusing to take responsibility; just good old fashioned, helpful and friendly customer service. A*
Ohh and the product is fantastic too
Item is great and seller also very responsible.
Product is very good. Make sure you let seller know you require hardwire or else they will send you with cigarette cable. Overall the product itself very good with one year warranty and seller replies your any issues quickly either via Amazon question queries or WhatsApp (you can join once you get the item in guide booklet).
Front camera/mirror easy to fit, good pic, still good picture at night when lights on etc.
Its discrete as well; passer’s bye will be looking for a dash cam elsewhere on the windscreen.
Picture quality on the mirror is good. When screen off, mirror image good.
Rear camera I fitted inside, view is still good, pic by night would be poor, requiring lights to be really useful. Good by day. One can connect the spare wire provided to the reversing light 12V supply, then when one selects reverse in the car, camera is activated, and guidance lines can be setup to appear to guide you reversing.
Handy unit that you are covered front and rear with the one unit.
You will need to buy the external mini blade fuse cable for12V/GND permanent connection, so as not to be using the cigarette 12V socket. A must.
Comes with G shock setting of Low/Medium/High (to activate record in case of a tip when not in the car). Medium is still to sensitive for some Irish roads with bumps and potholes etc while driving.
Screen is easy enough to follow the software/setup. Manual is good, with pictorials.
I haven’t plugged in the GPS, so cant comment on it.
Bought via Amazon. I would suggest the documentation to describe and sell it could do with reworking to do its functionality more justice, its poor in my view for the options this system has.
I got this dashcam the other day and I wanted to see how it works a bit, before posting any reviews of it as I had some bad experience with a dashcam from a different brand.
Before I start, I must say, the full star rating is a bad idea, it should be on a 0.5 stars basis, up to 5 full stars.
Because the camera on this model doesn,t extend (it,s a fix camera model) I would have given it 4.5 stars. If you have a slightly bigger rearview mirror, it would be tricky->hard to attach thr dashcam on it.
It,s a simple enough instalation process, and I really like that Wolfbox thought of the strugle with hiding all the wires and they gave the necesarry tool. I got 2 pairs of straps, a “small” one and a slightly bigger one.
Wolfbox team, well done and thank you from all of us that bought your product.
In the first picture it,s shown also the speed. I don,t know how to do that. Maybe you need to install also the GPS module, which I confess I didn,t because of laziness
The charging tip is kind of big (I couldn,t hide it behind the mirror plastic on top of the windshield in my 2012 Scenic), and because it,s a RH drive car, the “tip” should have been on the other side of the cable for more comfort, but you don,t have that big a problem because of that.
All in all a good product so far.
I will post again in a couple of months with some other feedback (if I won,t forget )
For the price it would be mad not to get one for your peace of mind. Having had many Dash Cams in the past I now wish I had found this earlier.
The Dash Cam has a fantastic 2.5k (1440p) front fully adjustable front camera and a 1080p rear camera. The main unit fitted comfortably over the existing rear view mirror and looks and feels a premium bit of kit. Both cameras have advanced WDR/HDR technology. This allows clear crisp recorded images beyond what was expected and I was very impressed more so at night. It took about 30mins to fit with what was in the box. However this might vary on how you route the cables etc. where you place the rear cam ect. I fitted the rear camera outwith the car it’s fully waterproof and gives great results. I also opted for an additional hardwire kit that enables you to set the parking mode. There were plenty of tips how to do this on YOUTUBE always a good idea to seek help if in doubt. The parking mode is only available when a hardwire kit is fitted and worth it as all the wires are hidden and the additional benefit of 24/7 cover and the hardwire kit won’t drain your battery as it’s intelligent Make-up does not allow. When the car was started I was surprised just how quickly it booted up and started recording, the rear cam stays on and with a swipe either way you can view the front. I found with certain swipes at points you can change the brightness easily or you can switch off to have just the mirror effect cam itself. All these settings can be adjusted in the settings menu. on its own is very clear and non dazzling. With the GPS module fitted it shows direction and speed. I also downloaded the Windows app. Wolfbox Player where on playback will allow you to view the recordings and shows a map of your location in accordance to the video. Playback is even clearer on the PC. There are plenty of settings etc that might be distracting as it is pretty much a fully packed Dash Cam that does a fantastic job. I advise playing with it on your drive and get familiar whilst stationary. Once comfortable with your settings you can relax on your journey knowing that the Dash Cam is working in the background. The only thing I was going to change was to fit a 128GB SD card however you can lock videos at by clicking the screen and also go in and if you find a video you can change to lock.
Not to easy to fit it in to the va
Nice and easy to use it, I’m using it for a van and I had to buy a proper holder, rear camera not the best but the front one have good quality!
Quick installation but camera quality is average.
I was bit disappointed as the camera quality is not good as its advertised and its average. The overall installation was simple i would say. I would recommend to install the rear camera outside and above the number plate rather than inside at rear side.
Perfect for UK right-hand driving, specific dash cam. Great customer service from wolfbox.
I contacted Wolfbox by email/amazon first to inquire if they sold these for UK right hand driving, they replied to me fast and provided me this product number to purchase this specific dash cam and also the hardwire kit for it also.
Product is much better in person than photos and online videos do justice. The fixing equipment is well made. I fixed the rear cam next to my number plate light by my boot handle on my audi A4 B8.5, I used their double sided sticky tape already attached to the rear cam rather than drill into my vehicle and it holds very firm.
Camera quality is as expected, amazing, HD both day and night, even at night you can clearly see the number plates of other vehicles behind you and bright headlights no longer dazzle through the previous old mirror as the camera reduces the blinding reflection.
(I will provide an update to see how the product holds up in 6 months.)
Great produc
Great product and after sales, had a few questions before and after purchasing and they were very helpful.
Straightforward produc
Excellent product. Picture quality is superb. Still haven’t connected the parking sensor wire but I’m working on it. Well recommended.
Great for my Camperva
This works ace to allow me see better out the back of my VW T6.1 Transporter I had a normal rear view with seats blocking most the view and none when pack up for a week away. Now I can always see behind me it’s fantastic very clear day and night. The only hard part was getting the wire into the tailgate very tight on a T6.1
Erradicates blind spots!
I had the camera fitted in my car at the beginning of 2022, to be used as a replacement for the rearview mirror. It is constantly on. Initially, it was fitted externally above the rear number plate, which is where it appears in most of the promotional videos. There were two main issues with that location, the first being that in heavy rain, the camera became almost unusable due to the amount of spray that collected on the lens. The second problem was that when vehicles were quite close behind at night, the headlights reduced the image to a blur of bright light, and in wet conditions, the image was just a mess. I then had the camera installed inside the car within the swept region of the rear wipe, as high in the rear screen as possible. It is much better in that location, as heavy rain is not a problem and headlight glare has reduced dramatically. The greatest advantage of the camera is that it removes blind spots completely. When a vehicle is on either side of the car, I can still see the rear of it in the camera when I catch it in my peripheral vision. When carrying out reversing manoeuvres, in particular in supermarket carparks, it is superb, you see everything behind and to the side of you. In motorway driving it is excellent, there are no blind spots whatsoever. Where we live, at certain points on the motorway, vehicles can join from the left and the right, so the elimination of blind spots is a huge benefit. The picture quality is excellent and in low light conditions, the image is so much clearer than with a conventional mirror. In very bright sunlight, you will catch sight of yourself in the mirror, but simply tilting it slightly removes that problem. The biggest drawback, and it takes a while to become accustomed to it, is that vehicles following at a distance greater than three hundred metres, are almost indiscernible. I find myself checking my door mirrors more often in dual-carriageway and motorway driving, due to lack of range of the camera. However, the camera can be switched off simply by pressing the power button, and the mirror becomes conventional. The menus can all be accessed on the mirror itself, with camera angle and screen brightness adjustable with a finger swipe, as is the choice of front or rear camera displayed. I also installed the GPS and the car’s speed and compass direction is displayed in the bottom left-hand corner of the mirror. However, for some reason the car’s speed is not displayed on the videos when they are played on the computer. I have searched the menus but cannot have speed displayed. The only other issue I have with it is the cabling connection points which are on the top of the camera. In my car it means that I cannot tilt the camera upwards as far as I would like when it is being used conventionally because the cable connectors come up against the factory fitted upper plastic body of the original mirror. If the cable connectors were on the rear of the camera it would resolve that issue. It would also improve the aesthetics as the cables would all be hidden behind the mirror itself. I have now had the mirror installed for about six months and I’m very pleased with it. If Wolfbox could improve the range of the camera to allow the image to be closer to ‘true’, that would be a huge improvement. I understand the issue with the wide angle lens but it probably isn’t insurmountable. My overall rating is four stars although I have given five stars for each of the separate elements. The camera quality is very good, picture quality is excellent, and the auto electrician took just over an hour to install it. Because of the location of the cable connections, and the limitations of the camera when viewing distant objects, I gave an overall rating of four, but I would have chosen 4.5 if that had been available. For vehicles which have no rear windows, or HGV’s, this camera would be an excellent addition, even with the issues described earlier. For busy motorway driving in any vehicle, the mirror is excellent.
Nice product love the touch screen and camera works brilliant.
