Bought these for solid internal doors. I had tried cheaper ones but found the mechanism was flakey. These ones are really solid and the mechanism is smooth and doesn’t stick. Great product and great price for the build quality.
A template costing pittance would have been helpful saving time on installing.
Swapped two brass versions for these chrome versions (different manufacturer) They are good but the mechanism feels less refined.
Ive used these locks many times. They are hardwearing and very secure

Very easy and quick to fit. Needed to fit so it could be locked and open from both sides. Worked well, but I now have a spare lock bolt.

Sturdy enough but fitting was tricky at the end when the hole is drilled for the key element to go inside. There wasn’t a template and you had to hold up the lock against the outside to guess really. Thankful for the cover because the hole wasn’t exactly small or neat 🙂
Smaller than expected thought it would be longer than but seem tough and works in all the star locks. Just a bit on the expensive side.
It has been useful although there seem to be other cheaper options available.

These are exactly what was needed, only thing is that there is only one cover for each lock so the inside of the door has no cover which is quite ugly.

Great item, nice shiny face plate and good quality. One grumble – two locks but only one key.
Replacement for existing bolt seems sturdier than the one I took out but only time will tell.
I have fitted such bolts — either Chubb or Yale to both internal and external doors for added security.
Without the key, intruders cannot open them.

Good quality, sturdy star key. It’s good value that you get 2 in the pack. Always handy to have a spare. Long key shaft so will be useful for any type of star lock, no getting jammer when they’re too short.
Yale are always great products in my experience. This is the one to buy!

Yes they are easy to install as long as you have all the kit to install with.
Good locks, work well, only down side, the key that comes with the locks is rubbish, the plastic part of the key feels as though it may break and can slip off the metal star part.

Ok but sometimes the thread doesnt bite into the lock and rolls free for a quarter of turn. (Could be the lock tho…)
Had to get a lock for our bedroom door due to safeguarding issues. the lock only came with 1 key so bought this. Fits the same as the other 1
An excellent lock and easy to fit. It won’t keep people out if they are a burglar but a good deterrent.

I made the mistake of purchasing a cheap rubbish key that didn’t work in a Chubb lock. This one fits and works well.

Product is well made and came as described. The only small issue is that the instructions are very basic and seems to cover the basic Yale bolt lock. No instructions on how to fit a thumbturn. Template would have been useful too as lining up the bolt horizontal to the door and marking the mid point for the turning bolt is hit an miss. Once fitted though, it works well.
I bought these after hearing about so many burglaries and cars being stolen so wanted to have an added bit of security while I slept. These do the job perfect and I feel anyone trying to get through the door would struggle.
You will require a drill, a 16mm and 8mm wood bit, a posi drive screwdriver, a tape measure and some wood chisels.

The screws that come with them are utter garbage.
The picture shows 1 key, 2 locks, 2 oval locks covers and 2 rectangle holed pieces so here’s my moan – You drill the hole through the door – that’s both sides right? – yet if you fit 2 locks it means you have only have 2 covers for them which I think is a bit of a con as I’ve had to buy further packs to finish both sides of my doors nicely.

Installed to beef up security on my back door. Really easy to do a neat job (16mm wood bit and 8mm metal bit required, you also need chisel). However the supplied screws are diabolically bad.

Works Great! Never had a problem apart from plastic coming off the metal key part. I ordered 2 fully metal keys for 1.50 which fixed that problem. Overall a great item from Yale.

Easy to fit and do what they are suppose to do. Useful for strengthening the hinge side of a front/back door.
Took me about 40 mins to install from start to finish and my DIY skills are not the best, adds so much more strength to my front door now

Needed this when I moved into a new property. Works great, much better than a generic one.
we use these to keep our toddler out of rooms we dont want her in without us, so she can play in her bedroom but cant enter the bathroom and flood the house, or if you want to keep presents in the spare room this is ideal , these are also great for additional security when your out of the house, you can effectively section off parts of your house making them far more difficult for thieves to reach or seriously slow them down which may be enough to make them give up and move on.
This yale marked key fits my locks unlike the cheaper lookalikes which do not have six equal points. It comes in yale packaging

Having had the Chubb version of this door lock,a replacement was needed as the Chubb rack had broken.
The Yale door security bolt is an identical size replacement,so it was easy to remove the broken Chubb and Quickly fit the Yale version.
It is perfect and i expect a long life from it exactly as the Chubb bolt.

Strengthens the door to a much higher level and gives you that added peace of mind
Quick delivery & a good quality lock for added security. Remember when drilling the hole for the key (through one side only) just allow the drill bit to go slightly further into the door, as the key when inserted actually goes through the lock & protrudes out the other side.
Chrome yale locks which was what we wanted, not brass as in the picture. Easy to install. Appear well made and able to do the job.
This key is the same branded Yale product as B&Q, but is almost half the price on Amazon. A fantastic quality bargain.
