Tips:

This is easy to use once installed. Someone installed it for me at the top of my stairs. (He said the template holes did not line up correctly and he had to drill some extra holes.) I didn’t think it would matter which side it was installed on until my puppy was able to open it by chewing at the bottom. I don’t think she could have done it if it hooked on facing away from the top of the stairs. I haven’t changed it and she has only done it once.

Exactly What I Needed!
I wanted a retractable gate so my dog could enjoy the porch on nice days, because I like to open doors and windows while I clean to air out the house. So much better than the classic tension style gates. Easy to open and close with one hand seems durable so far. When it’s not in use, it’s out of the way and not an eyesore. Absolutely love it, and we’re thinking of buying another for inside.

I don't know how I did not know about this gate sooner. I use this so my pets can't get up the stairs and let me tell you, it is amazing. I replaced two baby gates with bars by using this. Incredibly easy to use, sturdy, easy installation, and holds up to 5 cats and a dog trying to get through it!

Product is a good idea however because of the way the gate is attached only on the left side (when it’s being attached inside a doorway not in between the doorway), it makes it hard to use in different situations. It would be great if the gate was able to be switched to attach in the right side as well, so because of where we are putting it we aren’t able to use it because we need the large part that holds the retractable mesh to be attatched on the right side - all types of this gate seem to only attatch on the left unfortunately so I am sending it back
