Really great headband, love the modularity. Be careful as my first one was defective (right button had to be pushed hard). AptX HD sounds wonderful. Personally I wish it supported AptX LL (Low Latency) as this would be better when I’m practicing playing instruments so I don’t have to worry about a cable. It doesnt have AAC, so iphone users would probably prefer the H06.

I’ve never had a problem with comfort or battery life. 16 hours seems about right as I don’t have to charge them but once every 3-4 days.

The ability to plug in a cable and go wired is wonderful. Would be nice to be able to charge while being wired, but I feel like most people wouldn’t want that.

I don’t switch out drivers, but if I did, I’d be very nervous about switching these out. I feel that way with all of the TMA-2 headbands tho. If anything I just switch out earpieces to keep my Memory foam pads from getting sweaty.

Well worth the price for the quality and versatility.

So, I’m extremely biased when it comes to AIAIAI’s modular headphones and have been a dedicated user for 5 years. I’ve DJ’d and produced with them, and I’ve just worn them while knocking around the house for countless hours. I’ve worn out one set of speakers and a few leather pads but have always been able to buy just the part I need to swap out and keep my rig going which I really dig as a life-long headphone aficionado. Because I’ve used this brand of headphones for so long, I highly recommend the S04 speakers and either the E04 leather or the new E08 Alcantara ear pads (if you prefer over-ear pads like me). I was a long time E04 user but recently switched to E08’s and love them. I also want to strongly suggest that you get this E05 Bluetooth headband instead of the other Bluetooth headband they sell (E06). That one is a little cheaper but doesn’t seem to have the same fidelity as this E05 headband so stick with this one.

As far as quality goes, I’ve never had any complaints with AIAIAI’s modular stuff and these seem to be as high quality as everything else I’ve used from them. One huge caveat is that you must update the firmware as soon as you get them charged up. I was about to return mine because they kept shutting down on me even when I was listening to something. I figured I had a bad set and was about to go through the return process and then I realized that other reviewers were mentioning firmware updates. The update process is dead simple and can be done via Windows or Mac. Other reviewers mentioned how to get the firmware so I won’t repeat here.

The only complaint that I have is, although I welcome the USB-C connector for charging, I hated its location and was wondering if I could actually use these for a really long time without damaging something because you kinda have to wedge the charger into the female input which is really close to one of the speaker wires. Anyway, I solved the issue with a little Magloc-type upgrade called the Magnetic USB C Adapter, Type C Connector by a company called Upmely. Now I have a nice magnetic connection and I never have to worry about putting stress on that part of my headphones. I’m sure they’ll eventually change the location of that port or just include a magnetic connection from jump but I didn’t mind the extra $20 for such a nice fix.

A final note on the sound quality, it’s great. I’d recommend the speakers I use but you can try different ones and choose the ones you like best. The battery life is also really good.

    Update your firmware!!!

Bin soweit zufrieden, klanglich einwandfrei.

Bluetooth 4.0 4.2 5.0 peethuuwe; its all the same boys. All you need to know is the connection is secure anything above 4.0. Interference and drops don’t relatively happen often at these models. AptX SBC supported codecs are included so its pristine clear audio you are getting– or at least what your diaphragms output mainly.

I don’t know why these low-star ratings are popping up complaining that it can’t connect to multiple devices, or that it is heaver than the H04 & H03’s, these ratings are slanging the average offset!

Idk about them but the Milliwatts [mWatts] output of the signal flow is SOOO DAMN STRONG. I mean it must be driving 1000 to 1200 mWatts RMS; because my S04’s are already kicking around 75%, I tried pushing the 32ohm driven speakers to 90% and went deaf for a good minute after removing them.

All-in-all AIAIAI.dk will not make a completely new model of “wireless” headbands but this one doesn’t need to be insane bluetooth 8.0 ~~im just exaggerating a little here. The premise of this review is about how it operates as a component as a headband. It takes your favorite speakers S04s (or S02s or anything) and makes them portable. Most SPL is around 70 -95 and the H05 does not dissapoint in bringing out the nature of the well-famed speakers line of AIAIAI’s technology

Absolutely a utilitarian of an headset; feels more comfortable than older versions, makes my Gym time DJ time; also go complete festival mode by bringing their mp3 chord along = plug in and play.

Easy, minimalistic, direct, and quality– all in one design, the H05.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter 5 years, my original headband had started to delaminate a little so I happily purchased a replacement. As a life-long serious headphone user, I can’t tell you how awesome it is to be able to replace just the parts of my favorite headphones that wear out instead of having to throw away an otherwise functional pair.

You im sure know that the sound quality is amazing so lets just skip that part lol

The best feature i like about this is that i can make music with the headphones plugged into my studio….then just take the plug out the headphones, press a button and i can bluetooth and play whatever i want out my phone or laptop. It also somehow can sync more the one thing at a time, i had music playing from my phone and was able to control voice command on my pc.

It charges reallllllly fast, it seems like a good half hour can give you a 16 hour charge.

Only thing i had an issue with is that they are heavier then the 04 headband, which is by far the most comfortable headphone i ever wore in my life. I literally can sleep with them on and forget that they are on….so give and take with that but for most people i dont think they will be able to tell the difference……so yeah get these.

After 3 years my H01 cables broke apart and in the need of a new headband I decided to buy the H05.
My now Wireless TMA-2 have no connection problems whatsoever, the Bluetooth is as reliable as it can be.
Nonetheless the headband it’s itself on the expensive side of the spectrum, and If what you want is only (any) bluetooth headphones there are cheaper options.

I recently stumbled onto the Fnatic Gear Duels while researching the aiaiai modular headphone lineup. If you haven’t seen it, you should definitely check it out here:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LY2UKM4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

EXCELLENT value for the money considering it’s basically a TMA-2 headset with extra ear pads and gaming mic cable. You’re basically paying half price for a REALLY nicely made set of cans that can be modded and tuned up over time.

Now, as far as the H05, I’ve had a great experience a few hours out of the box. I plugged it in immediately and check for firmware updates, but mine was up-to-date. I quickly tried pairing with my iPhone and it worked flawlessly. I then assembled everything from the parts of my Fnatic set and listened to some tunes. Sounds indistinguishable from the hard-wired (at least on Spotify, I’ll try it on Tidal soon and report back) and I suspect it’s the 4.2 bluetooth connection.

It’s nearly as light as all the other headbands, which is AWESOME cause it’s super comfy as well. I can’t figure out how I feel about the silicone headband being a leather guy, but I will say it’s nice and supple and seems to be easy to clean.

The nylon/composite headband, while light, is not at all “cheap” feeling and seems like it will really last. One of my big issues when buying headphones is that I have a massive head and the headbands usually go first in some way. I’ve slowly learned what to look for when buying (I’m a bit of an audio junky and have several pairs of high end headphones) and I can say without a doubt this headband feels comparable to my Astro gaming headset that I have had and used for about 10 years now and it’s flawless.

The controls could have benefitted from some iconography. I get that they are going for a super minimal visual, and as a designer I get that, but as a user experience designer it drives me a little bonkers in that it seems a little form over function. It’s a small gripe and it’s not THAT hard to get a “feel” for the three buttons, but even making the center button larger or something would have helped.

All that aside, I feel like the band is a little wider compared to the one I had and that’s good for my big head, it’s very high quality and I’ve had ZERO of the issues I’ve seen from others as far as connecting to multiple devices, etc (it’s currently paired with my iPad AND my iPhone. Fired right up and was even at 90% charge. It’s possible those issues have been resolved through the firmware updates, so make sure you check and update your set by following these instructions on aiaiai’s site:
    https://aiaiai.dk/h05-information

I will come back and update this after I’ve had a little more time with it, but don’t hesitate to ask any questions.

Great addition for you aiaiai TMA-2 or your Fnatic Gear Duels

Almost perfect! It’s a very basic Bluetooth headset but it works and I love the styling. Aiaiai is one of my favorite brands. The only real gripe I have is the port for charging the headset. I remedied this by buying a magnetic USB-C cable. Now I don’t have to worry about fidgeting with plugging the cable in.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIn terms of taking an existing wired set to wireless, this headband fits the bill. No longer will you be plagued by the original heavy cable janking your lightning adaptor out of its port. There are some caveats to be had here though.

    1) The handsfree capability is not the best. I’m not sure if it applies some heavy handed noise cancelling, but people on the other end of your call will struggle to hear you.

    2) The charging port is in a difficult position. Don’t be surprised if you have to give your cable a bit of a bend to get it to fit in.

    3) There is some audio lag. I have noted when watching video, the audio can be out of sync with what is happening on screen.

If you’re usage is pure music and you’re looking for convenience through an upgrade, then this fits the bill. Not having to have separate DJing and listening pairs of headphones is a real benefit. However, for the price, you may find yourself a little irked by the quirks considering the price of upgrade. Certainly room for improvement, however, that is the benefit of a modular system–it can easily happen.

I absolutely love this brand. In the day and age of plasticky, over-designed ‘look at me’ headphones I’ve always loved the minimalistic look and understated sophistication of the AiAiAi range.

No longer a DJ, but always found these to be much better sound quality than your typical 300 pair of Beats and so when this wireless headband was released I was sold.

Read about the ‘quirks’ such as button position and charging position but haven’t found either to be an issue as this is my first pair of bluetooth headphones so I literally know no different.

Sound quality is crisp, clear and on point and love that I can still easily use them wired if I ever run out of battery or decide to fire up the decks again.

Would definitely recommend to existing AiAiAi users who want to go wireless.

And as always, their customer support has been second to none.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve been faithful to the TMA—2 ecosystem for over a year and I’m finally excited to have my hands on the wireless upgrade. My TMA-2s are now the perfect daily driver and gym head phones!

Please upgrade your firmware, this is to avoid any kinks with the headband. The updater for the h05 is on the aiaiai website.

    REVIEW

It is well worth the upgrade since I no longer have to concern myself of the cable caught on tables, door knobs, or chairs. Wireless life is for the elite.

Audio quality stayed the same; I use my phone for music. The headband was able to power my S02 speakers wonderfully. Music still sounds crisp cause of the Apt-X codec. The microphone is fine despite it being placed low. It does pickup a lot of headband noise from movements though.

Comfort wise, it’s a snug fit and the cushioning on top is sweat and moisture proof. Comfort is more dependant on your ear cups in my opinion. I use 4 different sizes of ear cups all of different textures.

Featurewise, the three buttons at the top left side of the headband aren’t unintuitive to use. I don’t see why people complain about it but it’s perfectly fine and does all the functions. The buttons are tactile and responsive. I wish the headband did indicate if I maxed out the volume with a sound like most Bluetooth headphones do. I also wish there was a software feature where if I pressed a certain button in a certain way, it would inform me of the battery life.

I have no complaints of the battery life. These headphones can easily last a day or two, perhaps three if you truly space it out.

One thing I do appreciate is the band doesn’t have a female or male announcer saying, “device connected.” it’s simple elegant digital sounds that cue you when the headband powers on or off. That’s more of a personal taste.

A note to users. Power off the headband before using your cable to avoid audio issues. If you use an audio cable while the headband is still powered on, the left speaker or left side will generate lower volume.

I felt the location of the charging cable is iffy. It’s an awkward angle and I do worry about messing up the port. However so far no issues and I’m gentle.

Overall I really enjoy this headband and I feel this was a good investment. I highly recommend this because it’ll take your headphones to a whole other level. Cut the Cord!

This was the #1 upgrade for me. I now use these at work and can get through my 10 hour shifts with no worry about battery life. When I get home, I can easily plug these into my PC via the wire without needing to continue to consume battery. The flexibility this allows is perfect!

    Pros:

    Wireless freedom!
    More than enough max volume.
    Good battery life.
    USB type C connector.
    Comfortable cushion.

    Cons:

This is a given, but you now have to worry about charging your headphones.

    UPDATE:

I didn’t have any issues with mine, but you could update the firmware to be on the safe side. The updater can be found here:

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHabe mein H02 Headband durch das H03 ersetzt.

I use this as my new “on-the-go” headband. It’s on my lighter-weight set of AIAIAI modulars. The cushioning is just as described: “rugged.” If you are looking for ultimate comfort, I would consider the H03 instead. If you are looking for twisty, durable, won’t get ripped up, try this one. Also I imagine this one is better if your next sweats a lot.

Vielen Dank dafr :o)
