Great 4k camera, good resolution and phone interface to download pics and video. Great set of accessories for different situations.
Stabilisation not as good as gopro 10 and picture colour can vary within shot depending on angle. Quality on 60 fps is very good. Touch screen is a little temperamental. When selecting some features it has frozen on a few occasions requiring battery removal to reset. However overall for price I am very pleased.
Great features, and accessories, used it for 4×4, and the stabilization is great for smoothing out the rough bits
I was considering a go pro till I came across AKASO and so pleased i purchased one,
excellent quality and lots of accessories.
The quality is better than I expected. I’m using the camera for my mtb and didn’t want to spend go-pro money for obvious reasons. The kit comes with a multitude of fixings Inc handlebar fittings and helmet fixings. Be aware though the camera only supports upto 64gb memory card and the bundle that amazon offer comes with a 128gb memory card which is as much use as a chocolate fireguard, thanks Amazon, really helpful… Anyways I’ve now ordered a couple of 64gb cards to use. I would definitely recommend this camera though for its specs and quality.
Camera provides excellent technical features. It was not clear untill tested that camera doest supprr hi-frame rate regimes and image stabilization. (No stabilization for 4k@60, 1080p@120 nor 720@240).
Workmanship of camera case is rather cheap worst is batterry lid.
You get wide vatiety of mounts with camera thus you can use for whatever use you wish immediatelly.
Mine camera had troubles with conecting to Bluetooth remote thus after agreement with excellent support of AKASO camera was sent back for replacement.
On the whole, this camera is great value for money considering the outrageous price of GoPros. Image Quality and features are top notch except I am finding the operation of the remote unit to be very buggy – loses bluetooth connection and I have yet to get any response form the voice commands. I also found that the battery that was already installed in the remote was either flat or faulty (no biggy), so I replaced this with the second battery that came included.

This is a great action camera! I wanted something cheaper than a GoPro but not too cheap either so paid a little extra for this elite and it has disappointed. I’m seeing other reviews saying the picture quality isn’t great but I completely disagree. I have mine set to vivid and it’s great! Also, I watch my footage on my 4k smart TV not on the devices small screen which obviously won’t look as good as watching it on a 4k tv. I bought a Samsung action cam 128gb micro sd card separately so keep that in mind when purchasing this beauty. I’m really happy with customer care also as when I registered for my warranty they contacted me to say they are sending some free gifts! Awesome experience so far! Looks basic but build in comfortable materials.
It’s version 3 of this model and I feel how microphone quality grow up. Very surprised with the new stabilization, great job and smooth. Colour at video on daytime very realistic.
Very recommend it on quality/price.
I am very satisfied with the product, i use it mainly in kitesurfing sessions and for taking pictures on the beach.
PROS :stabilization, video quality, ease of use, price.
CONS: i bought it through amazon warehouse (like new condition) to take advantage of the slighly lower price but the package did’t include the cable for the charger and also the cable for transferring data. Is the second time i buy something from warehouse and parts are missing. I advice you to buy it NEW and pay a higher price.
– The AKASO APP is getting stuck sometimes.
– The manual could be more detailed without looking so much a “China” product origin.
I have a GoPro 5 Black and when i think of the time i actually use it and how i use it, its very difficult to justify spending another $350 or so on a GP8/9 with the new hyperstabilisation. Having bought an escooter recently i have wanted to add more than 1 camera to capture video as my GF and I both go out together. I got the Akaso Elite and quite simply put, its the same camera as the GP5 basically in every way other than OS and feel. Personally i looked at youtube and there are tons and tons of reviews comparing both. Therefore my experience, 1 battery for the remote didnt work upon opening the box and i also cannot seem to get the voice commands to work. not too pushed with the voice command frankly as its gimicky. The battery issue – im not going to complain when the amount of accessories and free gift you get with the purchase comes with it for the price.
If you are a casual camera user that uses it mainly for videos around the house, hiking, snorkling, time shot photos as you walk around wildlife parks, then go Akaso, THEY are pro.
Lightweight camera with great kit and accessories. Camera easy to set up and understand, looks really stylish and is easy to hold despite its size. Love the remote control.
Only slight negative is the accessories kit doesn’t come labelled as to what is what, so that takes some figuring out.
User manual is available by scanning the qr code and using the app or the website, which is better for me as I don’t want to carry a user manual around but I always have my phone.
Absolutely delighted with this purchase. Bought it after comparing to a more expensive option and seemed to have everything that the other offered plus more. Great set of accessories included. Delighted with the quality of the camera images. Can not fault this at all or Amazon for delivering ahead of time.
Only just received this so not used lots, but from a few trials at home this seems a really good camera and looking forward to recording my next canoe trip
I do like that for such a price you, are getting a 4k/60fps spec for the camera which shoots high resolution footage at a good framerate. Lots of mounts and accessories come with the package including a diving bell.
Though this would have got a 5 star, if there was some sort of software inputted into the camera that could allow me to use it as a webcam as well.
After waiting so long to purchase an action camera I done a lot of research I looked at all the go pro options and a lot of the cheaper options out there but having looked through all the AKASO models I felt the v50 Elite was the camera for me it’s ease of use made it an easy choice as my 6 year old granddaughter can work it
Image stabilisation was a must as I do a lot of mountain biking in the woods the little wrist remote is very handy but beware it’s not waterproof
A 2 inch display is more than adequate it also has a adjustable wide angle as card slot for more storage
The list goes on and on there is no need to waste your money on more expensive cameras this camera is all you need

This camera has a much better feel to it than the v50x which I had prior to this one. The added benefit of zoom and voice activation are nice additions. Video and picture quality on the Akaso cameras is good and the functions menu isnt overly complicated.
To be honest it’s an allrounder great value for money. Used it for water skiing and on my speedboat.
Great little camera use it whilst out cycling and works as it should video quality as good as other more expensive models and battery life is good

I gave already a good trial to my new Akaso V50 Elite and, in the overall, it’s a great product in terms of cost/quality.
I bought this camera mainly to record footage on my mountain bike rides, and it’s quite resitant and fit for this purpose. It comes with a good assortment of mounting accessories, wich cover most of camera positioning and fixing needs.
It captures images of great quality in good day light conditions, works nicely with the iphone app, and it’s quite light.
I dont say the image stabilization is superb, but is satisfactory. Touchscreen could also be more responsive and accurate. In windy conditions, integrated microphone captures considerabe noise (however, it’s a issue found in most of action cameras).
Didn’t have yet the opportunity to try it in rainy or underwater conditions.
If you are looking for good action camera, well assorted with mountings and accessories, this is a great choice – even compared with products with the double of it’s market price.

Bought this product instead of a Go Pro and am very happy with the results – lot’s of functionality and high quality pictures/video. Would definitely recommend as an alternative to the more expensive product. Able to download videos for editing to phone/iPad/Mac easily for editing. Great quality video in day and night!

Absolutely amazing 4K camera and video, I was recommended this product by a friend who told me the akaso v50 elite is just as good if not better than the go pro camera and video range.

I bought the accessories bundle and separate SD card to go with the camera , so I’ve got plenty of gadgets, I I had to choose a free gift which the company are offering it would be the charger and 2 batteries.

Bought this via Amazon Warehouse, which may explain why the voice remote doesn’t work, more of that later. Very lightweight and good to have built-in tripod bush on the camera itself. Video quality is good, Image stabilisation makes a difference when biking off-road although not totally smooth. Picture colours are OK, but different to the colours I get from my smartphone – more of a grey look to everything. The negatives: touch screen is a great improvement on fiddling with lots of buttons as on cheaper sportscams, though it is a tad difficult to get the fingers in the right place all of the time. The phone app I don’t really find useful – disappointingly there is no feature to sync time with phone – which I use for gps tracking. Although there are many features, in fact a whole number are not available at the same time, e.g. EIS and 720p video, EIS and medium or narrow view and lots more limitations. One of the features that attracted me was the voice remote – very handy when cycling over rough tracks without taking hands off the handlebars. However, though the remote buttons work fine, voice control just doesn’t happen. I bought new remote battery, but still no joy. I wonder if the device needs to be trained to recognise words, but nothing helpful from customer services on that. Finally, it records in MOV format which is less useful to me than mp4, which I would use on Garmin VIBE software.
Best budget camera for recording motorbike journey. Iv used this product for a month now and i am happy with the purchase. Quality and image stabilisation is great and i wasent especting the audio to be soo good while in use with wind. However at dark areas the camera doesnt perform the best but you cant beat it for a budget rig. Definitely recommend.
I bought the V50 pro to replace a smaller, dirt cheap camera that I’d been using to record my drumming progress, and I was blown away with the V50 in every aspect, the video quality was much clearer, and was of a higher quality than I was expecting given the price! Overall Great camera, might have to get another one to get more angles!
Good product for price. It’s not a gopro, but it’s not a gopro price either.
Image is decent and stabilizing abilities are decent too.
Does lack some of the premium features however, such as night mode, voice commands… also records in 3gb increments it can be stitched together, and keeps recording without starting it again, however you end up with loads of video files, rather the one long file.
Great action camera . Bought it for my motorcycle trips. Only used it once so far but very impressed with results.

Excellent quality at price point, EIS works a treat and comes with a good selection of accessories. Build quality is good and takes great shots. Easy to use/ navigate and plenty to of connectivity options. Thinking of purchasing a second one as this would still be 2/3rd the price of the competition. Would definitely recommend!
This camera has been pretty good so far. We took it skiing for a week, and the picture quality and image stabilisation are very good indeed. It is easy to setup, connect to the remote and ipad, and is simple to use. The battery lasted pretty well too. In the cold I got approx. 1 hour of video before the battery went. If you are out and about for longer, definitely take spares.

A really good quality device for the price that you pay, thats how i would describe this camera. And so many ways to use it as well. It is very practical, looks very well built (though something to be seen after using it for a while), but from the looks of it, it is robust and does not look cheap at all. Good quality image and also supports 4k,60fps for decent quality videos. Havent tested the water proof case, but i am assuming that it should work as expected.
Excellent budget action camera supporting 4k 60fps video recording and H.265 (HEVC) encoding, with a range of useful accessories included in the price.
I found the remote works well upto about 10m but was a bit hit and miss with the voice commands, I think I prefer using the buttons anyway.
It is nice and light weight which is a good thing as I plan on mounting it on my cycling helmet and with it having a proper 1/4″ thread, you can mount it without the waterprrof case when it isn’t needed.
I haven’t fully tested out how long I will get from a full charge but you get 2 batteries & a dual socket charger so that should get me a decnt amount of footage on my next holiday whether it is whitewater rafting, quad biking, zip lining or MTB’ing.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to start capturing/recording their experiences and adventures. You won’t regret it.
The camera is awesome and is really well priced with all the accessories you get with the camera. Most of the time you have to buy all the accessories separate. If it came with an SD Card within then you would be all set with just this product but unfortunately you have to buy them separate, but overall really good camera. Glad I purchased it.

Inside the box —
All the usually mounts and accessories that come with budget cameras (e.g. helmet mount, handlebar mount etc.) 2 batteries 1050mAh, 2 battery charger which is USB powered which is a massive plus with 2 led lights that change colour depending on the battery charge status. Waterproof case which is waterproof up to 131ft with the Akaso V50 Elite already inside the case.
Build Quality —
For a budget action camera, the build quality is good and doesn’t feel cheap. The camera has plastic front with a rubber frame which is grate for extra grip. All buttons have a good tactile feel to them; however, I would have preferred if the on/off button was on the top or the side of the camera and not on the front.
Video Quality —
The video quality is better than I expected from a budget action camera. However, it still is a budget action camera so you’re not expecting the same video quality as a GoPro or a DJI camera. From my day of usage, I don’t really have any complaints.
Sound Quality —
The sound quality is not that great compared to the other V50 range line up. With no support for external microphone unlike the other Akaso V50 cameras that’s a big let down as its marketed as an upgrade version of the V50.
Battery Life —
The battery life is not great with about 30mins+ run time at 4K 30fps and about 45mins+ at 1080p 60fps*. As the camera supports charging while recording, I didn’t have an issue as the gimble that I use can also act as a power bank too.

Support for external microphones like the other V50 cameras as this is meant to be the upgraded version in the V50 range.

I’ve just bought the AKASO V50 Elite. I haven’t really had the chance to use my camera yet, but from the few photos I’ve taken and the quality of the videos, it seems quite good and I’m happy.
I’ll review again in a few months once I’ve taken it for more of a road test!
Having bought other Akaso action cams previously, I decided to purchase the V50 Elite as a Christmas gift for a family member. As I had anticipated, they were blown away by the quality of the footage, the range of functionality and the build quality. They are now a convert to Akaso products and are already recommending to friends that they also purchase the Elite or another camera in the range. Don’t hesitate if you are in the market for a high quality action camera at a reasonable price point.
The camera works very well although it can be a bit slow to react to your input. The image is very clear. You get a lot of accessories in the box but most of them are just brackets so you’ll have to buy different mounts for more mounting options. Image stabilisation is okay but nowhere near that of a Gopro but neither is the price! When I received the camera I had a few problems with the waterproof case but it seems like AKASO have now redesigned the case. Customer service is also great from Sophia. I’m glad I bought it when I did as the day it got delivered to me the price had gone up by 50 making it more than an entry level Gopro!
Exceptional value for money, I got mine while it was on offer ! Does everything I want it to do, picture quality is more than adequate for a fun camera while I’m on my paddle board. Remote was easy to connect and it works along with the voice control. Battery life not brilliant but it comes with 2 batteries and they recharge quickly. Had used my friends GoPro and for what I wanted this was a far better value for money option. Had it a week and impressed so far!

So far I’ve used it to film some indoor climbing, and the quality has been great. EIS seems to do the job fine when filming by hand. The camera was bought for an upcoming ski trip, that will be the ultimate test.
Noticed that sometimes when filming indoors with EIS, the footage was much darker than when filming without EIS… someone with more knowledge might know why this happens? *shrugs*
The action cam has just arrived but I tried it and found very interesting.
It is also plenty of useful accessories to use it in many and different occasions.
I like very much the touchscreen and the 8x zoom very difficult to find in action cam with that price!
I’m looking forward to try it in the sea water.
At the moment the only thing that seems not to work is the wi-fi connection. I got the AKASO DV APP but when I try to link with my IPHONE pushing the wi-fi button the CAM freezes and I have to remove the battery to restart it.
Anyway I recommend this action cam especially at the special price I bought it (90 gbp).
Great little camera, smaller than I expected and feels quality. I’m looking forward to getting it outside and testing it for work and play.
