This rack is is very sturdy and and was very easy to assemble. For this price, I wouldn’t expect anything less however, it is not so great for doing squats because it is a bit too low as I am 6’2″. It is great for heavy bench press and allows for adjustable width which is perfect for people with wider grip. Overall, very affordable and sturdy rack.
The rack is pretty nice and sturdy, however, being 6’1 it’s a bit short for me to do squats, and maxing out the height, putting my bar on the rack fells very unsafe, as the rack wobbles a lot. However the middle rack feels very sturdy.
Only issue I have with this stand is that I wish the arms that the barbell sits on were a little shorter. When bench pressing I sometimes hit it. Other than that I have no complaints and it’s great for what I use it for. I use the squat rack and bench plus I can store some extra plates on it when I’m not using them.
Nice stable unit could easily take more weight than I would ever need and the added plate holders at the front/bottom of the rack is a bonus. The highest level (at the top) is for military press and the lower level for heavy bench press. It is height and width adjustable. Really good solid rack. Great bit of gym equipme
It’s a very solid bench and squat rack however, the safety arms are very low for anyone with long arms and the pre-drilled holes make racking the barbell impossible to reach or too low also.
This is super affordable and easy to assemble. If you’re looking to lift super heavy weights, it’s not the right product. If you want to load lighter weights (up to about 100 lbs) this works just fine. My bench pulls right up to the horizontal bar and I can load/unload bench press. It’s somewhat awkward getting the bar off for squats, but I am not lifting a ton of weight at home.
I use the Reebok barbell and weight set with some extra weights and it works just fine on this rack with it set at the narrowest setting.
Sturdy. Comes with extra pieces. Option of central bar or not. For bench press it’s great. For squats if u have the stabilizer horizontal bar when picking up the weight you must face the weights or else it can be dangerous to place the weights back. Your legs will you touch the bar. if you do the opposite . In short very happy . No pieces missing a minor scratch even thought it came well packaged. I would give it a 8 out of 10. Love i
The squat rack is rather light and easy to carry if you feel like lifting outside on sunny days! Super durable.
Updated after 2 months
Not bad for 140 USD BUT,
Small things that have been cut out to save costs stands out over use.
1- the bar below that connects the left and right hand side pillars has one screw to hold them together. Often this bows the whole rack front to back. Using two screws would have eliminated this and made it sturdy.
When working with weights, that little bit of feeling safe goes a long long way.
2- if you keep this outside, beware. It rusts very quickly. Like in a day or two if there is even a mild rain. A bit of antitrust coating would have been better.
3- the rubber pads on the spotting arm was a good idea but, the glue does not hold very well.
(Original review) Nothing fancy. It’s a squat rack that doubles up as a bench press.
Feels sturdy, easy to assemble and serves the purpose.
If I nitpick, I can say the bar that connects both sides could have been adjustable. I have a exercise bench and it cannot decline much as it hits the bar that connects both the legs but that’s to be expected as the bench was from a different brand.
All in all, worth the price and safe and secure for workouts for medium weights under 100 kg
My 13 year old is just getting into lifting, so we wanted something safe but affordable, and this was perfect! We thought we were going to have to put it on those foam gym floor mats because he has carpet in his room. It turns out we didn’t need to. This piece is already very stable and solid. Everything fit together great when assembling and it was a great gift for him. My 13 year old loves it and my husband and I can’t wait to use it as well!
This is a good, sturdy enough piece of equipment for a home gym. If you’re using very heavy weights, this might not be your best option. But for most needs I think it works well enough.
The BangTong&Li adjustable weight rack is easy to put together. It comes with some tools but I used my own ratchets to make things much quicker and easier. I’m surprised at how light it is considering the weight that it can carry but I think that’s a good thing and it holds up really well. It doesn’t have a very big footprint so it should fit well in any gym. I use mine primarily as a bench press but can easily move it away from the wall to use it as a squat rack. Overall I’m happy that I bought one of these as it does the job!
Comprato pi di anno fa ancora fa il suo come il primo giorno.
For the price this is a great rack, but it does have a few issues. The assembly process will take you at least an hour to complete. There are roughly 30 bolts you need to screw in, and in the package you are provided two small wrenches to use. I thankfully have an electric drill with I could use to speed this up and it still took me 45 minutes to assemble. That being said, most racks will be like this as you’re going to be putting hundreds of pounds on them.
In terms of using it, for a flat bench press its great, but you can’t adjust the height for that so no incline/decline bench press. And for doing squats, the yellow bar is directly under where you need to stand to rack the weights so its a little difficult to squat without a spotter.
Overall its a great rack for its price, with a few inconveniences.
Easy to put together and sturdy happy with my purchase
Nothing. The equipment is easy to assemble, sturdy to use, and when finished with, easy to store out of the way.
Easy to assemble and very sturdy. It’s great to change widths
Perfect for bench press and squirt. It is easy to move around.
Love it! Gets the job done. Adjustable, easy to install, good product for the money.
I ordered this for my home gym, and I haven’t really had the chance to use it, because it was missing some screws, but i could tell it was sturdy and it was really easy to assemble. I wouldn’t have returned it if all pieces were there. I’ll still give it a 4 stars, because it was super easy to assemble and the material was of good quality.
Great value for the money. I was looking for a beginner piece for my home gym. This was the perfect fit. The size is great and it’s very sturdy. East to assemble!
Would buy agai
Good value, easy to assemble, sturdy, perfect height adjustment, well made not too light or flimsy.
Was looking around for squat rack and glad I landed with this one! Easy to assemble and works great with my weights. Very durable. Love the yellow colour as it gives it a pop.
This is top quality, well made, strong, easy to assemble, well packed and with clear instructions. Highly recommended.
The rack came within two days of ordering and came in a small box so you aren’t struggling to move around a huge box. Easy enough to assemble!
No frills, but sturdy and well built. Good for small spaces, like basements with low ceilings. Would most people prefer the industrial sturdiness of a full cage or rack with attachments etc etc? Probably, but not everyone has the space or that kind of budget.
We love this rack for our home gym. It’s sturdy and does the trick for the cost. We switched the back to the front to have easier access to the weights.
Strong and stable. Well made and fits the purpose I needed to extend my home gym.
This was a great addition to my home gym. Had a small issue with the initial setup, but the Seller was very quick and responsive and got me sorted out in no time at all. I would highly recommend this seller and i will definitely be buying from them again in the future.
Materiali di qualit! Facile montaggio, istruzioni chiare e in italiano. Danno tutta la bulloneria utile all’installazione e anche le chiavi per l’assemblaggio. Consiglio vivamente! Ottima per squat e utilizzo su panca piana!
It does the job wht it is supposed to do. Very sturdy and stable. And the height of the yellow bar is perfect with Fitness Reality bench.
It’s not the most stable rack I’ve used, but does the trick for light weights.
Arrived nicely packaged. Very easy to assemble! Good quality. Nice for a small home gym!
his is a nice product, I am not a pro but for average use very good.
It was very easy to put together and I was surprised by how sturdy it is. I’ve been using it to squat (235lbs) , bench press (210lbs) and shoulder press. I haven’t gone above that weight but it will hold. I decided on the purchase because of the other reviews. It is worth the price and nicely gets the job done!
Cannot do decline on it and not Perfect high and setting but ok for the Price
Fairly straight forward to assemble and easy to use. I wish the plate holders could accommodate 45Ibs plates. Other than that I am happy with the purchase
For those vex gym-goers who miss bench pressing due to Covid closing gyms this review is for you.
I’ve been using it for a few days now and I’m really enjoying it. What sold me the most was that it has plate holders. Not that it is required but it helps with balance. ….. Worth every penny – cheers!
Very happy with this purchase. Was easy to put together. Was worried it might be cheap but very impressived with it.
Great piece of equipment. Good quality and excellent customer service from the sellers.
I am very impressed with the design of this squat rack. It was super easy to assemble and works great!
I’m very happy with this rack. It’s sturdy and stable enough for my needs, though I have my doubts about how well it would handle the upper end of the 550-pound capacity it claims. Fortunately, I’m just doing basic strength training at home, and I’m relatively new to it. Unless I get actual superpowers I doubt I’ll ever be lifting more than 200 pounds, so this rack should be fine for my purposes. It’s not as solid as a cage-style rack or one that’s bolted into the floor, but it also costs a fraction of what those do and doesn’t take up a lot of space.
I’m 5’5″ so I wanted a rack with shorter settings available, and this one is perfect. I can do bench presses and squats with no problem. The expandable connecting bar between the posts does mean it’s best to take a step or two forward when doing squats so I won’t bump the bar on the way down, but that’s fine.
It was relatively easy to assemble. I was able to do it alone, but a few steps would have been a little easier with a second pair of hands.
Make sure to use both wrenches provided to hold and tighten the nuts and bolts from both sides where applicable! The instructions aren’t explicit about that, so if you don’t have a lot of experience assembling things like this, it might not be obvious to you.
Great while I wait to get a power rack. They are sturdy enough that I can slam down 200 pounds and not worry about it falling on my face. The bar in the middle is a little annoying, but for the price it’s a great produc
We are very happy with this purchase, perfect for home gym. It is very sturdy and the yellow bar doesn’t get in the way of our bench (bench can slide over for bench press etc).
Easy to put together and it’s holding up. Bought it months ago and it’s still sturdy.
I wasn’t quite sure if I would be pleased with this home unit, but I am. My first question concerns the cross member bar that was added for structural support. It is in the way of a smooth motion when lifting if you are someone that prefers to back into and under the weight bar. Your calf muscles will be touching the cross bar and you will not be directly under the bar unless your posture is straight up. It just does not feel right. If you face the rack, there is no problem. The cross bar would be best serving if it were placed on the floor under the triangular supports with adjusting knob facing up of course. This looks like an easy modification if you are someone that is power tool friendly. The steel tubing is light and will take little effort to drill through. A drill press would be best for straight drilling to the opposite side of tube for bolt length. The structure of this unit is sound and strong. No wobbling or shaking on my carpeted floor. This is a light weight unit and is best used for those of us that are not power lifters. My needs will be less then 200lbs. The cross member bar measured from the top of bar to the floor is 14-1/2in. I was worried that my bench would not fit over the cross bar, but things worked out great. If your bench has a raising back rest and the legs of your bench fit under the cross bar you are in luck. Simply raise the back rest of your bench, slide legs under cross bar and lay bench back rest on cross bar. Your in business. This will give you the support you need for performing bench presses. The drop rack/curl bar rest is fixed but is just right for my arm length and is not a problem. I would have liked them being adjustable but what the heck. This unit cost less then $100. and is the perfect size for my office/gym room. I am pleasantly surprised and pleased. I would recommend this product to anyone who is a beginning weight lifter or someone just looking to do a little strength training.
This rack is pretty easy to assemble. So far I have tried different weights on it and i can say it can safely hold about 250lbs without shaking or tilting in any way. I could try higher but taking the weights off would be a different story and I’d rather not let weights fall onto my floor for obvious reasons.
The product came within a couple days. It was so well packaged. Every piece was snugly bubble wrapped. The instructions we’re clear and easy to follow and came with the appropriate tools to set it up.
Since it was a small rack I was worried about the stability but when I put the weights on the 2 weight holders it was perfectly stable.
If I had 1 criticism it would be that the place where you rack the bar for doing squats etc could be a little bigger.
But other than that this product is sooo worth the $
If you ignore my messy basement you can see that this product fits im perfectly with my bench and weights
10/10
Would buy agai
We really like the product. Great quilty. Easy to assemble. Fast delivery.
Very happy with my purchase this is very space saving and more then adequate for my weight capacity. Using for both squats and bench press.
I had my own barbell bench before which took up too much space and was not meant for squats. I now have a space saving bench along with this squat rack.
Very easy to assemble. All screws and bolts are exactly the same which makes it very easy. Only suggesting I can give when building is be careful not to tighten to much you can end up denting the metal.
Product is great, especially for the price. Easy to assemble and works great so far.
So easy to assemble and very happy with my purchase
My brother uses it for weightlifting and sit-ups. Its size makes it conveniently fit in our small home. It is also adjustable, so it works for his height.
Solid, easy to build, spare parts. Excellent product.
Looks better than the one at my gym!!
The stuff is sturdy, the delivery time is fast, the overall quality is good
Delivered just as I thought it would be. One complaint, you have to thread a screw (two) each time you adjust the height of the bars.
Good piece of equipment for the price. Easy to move when you’re not using it and doesn’t take up too much space.
it’s very sturdy, dependable, the comfort to know I can have a full chest and triceps exercises.
Not sure why I decided to pay more and get this rack as opposed to others which cost less. However based on past experience of inferior quality issues when trying to find best value and regrets thereon I chose to pay more and order this one as it seemed to tick more boxes.
Positives:
Well packaged, well built, even the nut and bolt bag is of decent gsm and so can be reused elsewhere, the instructions are set out like a brochure and the English is clear, a few extra bolts and tube ends are provided for future keeps, easy to assemble, took 30 minutes in all with no stress, used my own tools as opposed to the supplied ones as I prefer superior tools for a better job, foam rubber mats included for the barbell rest positions which is a bonus as I was concerned about noise and scrapes, no cheap welds and no sharp edges or points of body injury. Easy to move around.
Negatives:
The foam rubber mats should be bigger and moulded to encompass the entire rest position (back base and front) and not just the base. I saw a rack in Decathlon which was perfecto but it came with a bench and as I already had my own and space was limited I chose to order this one from amazon.
Time will tell how this rack performs and/or annoys, I think the knobs may give first and I may have to improvise my own bar rest rubbers.
Hope the photos and my comments help you decide.
This squat rack is really stable and quite space saver. I paired it with the flat bench of the same maker. Very sturdy, the instruction is clear, parts are complete and the packing minimizes bruise or damage. I now have a safer way to start my squats. I also have an option of doing flat bench press with this rack. Highly recommended. Great value for money.
Bought this rack for last puzzle of my own home gym. After the pandemic, in short period, there is a bit risk went to business gym and to be honestly, already trained at home nearly 1 yr, really hard to change back unless fully released from covid-19.
Within this pandemic year, I have bought lots of home gym equipments. Pull up rack, dumbbell, barbell, cycling, treadmill etc etc, but always fancy a squat rack. But everywhere is very expensive, and actually too expensive. Bought one from Argos, but when it arrival, it could not support more than 80+ kg, even it said so.
Refund that one and starting searching from internet, but again, expensive or not fit my requirement until I saw this one. Free delivery and could support mid-training weight.
Place order and delivery very fast, no extra charge. Feel sorry for the driver as he help me carry the box straight into my home, good guy.
Assemble is very easy, took me about 10mins with an electric wrench, there are two 14-17 spanners include in box if you have not got your tools, which is very sweet.
Well made, very thick bar, could go up to 160 meter hight which enough for all the hight requirement. I put around 140kg on the rack without issues. only problem is the yellow support bar might feel a bit wired as the business gym squat rack do not have bar in the middle.
Over all, 5 star for me, and for all the beginner or inter-mid trainer, cross-fitter. But might be a bit struggling for the body builder. Will recommend to all my gym mates.
Very solid, strong construction. Took 10 mins to assemble, great adjustment – can be used for Olympic bar, standard bar and EZ curl bar. Nice stable unit could easily take more weight than I would ever need and the added plate holders at the front/bottom of the rack is a bonus. The highest level (at the top) is for military press and the lower level for heavy bench press. It is height and width adjustable. Really good solid rack. Great bit of gym equipme
This rack is perfect for a home gym. It’s fairly easy to assemble and the instructions are simple. It came with everything I needed to put it together plus an extra screw, bolt, washer ect so you don’t have to worry about missing parts. It’s very sturdy and it has all the adjustments you’d need. I would recommend this rack over the other racks I’ve seen on amazon.
The best for the price. Solid rack and great for anyone just starting out on weights.
Im a female in my thirties and fairly strong. I lift heavy in the gym but wanted some home amenities for those days im snowed in or what have you. I wont be lifting more than 100lbs with this and so its perfect for my needs. I assembled it myself and it took about 40min and all the parts were there. It adjusts to fit a 7ft barbell or a 5ft so im glad about that as it has a small footprint in my garage. If you want to life 300lbs just invest the money in rogue or something but for just those quick lighter home sessions i love this so fa
Was looking for a benchpress setup that didn’t cost an arm and a leg and this was good. I have a 7″ straight bar I use and it is just narrow enough to handle it. I dont use the squat portion much but seems effective for that also. Good purchase for price/quality.
Serves it’s purpose, a great compact equipment for your home. I’m satisfied!
Foam on rack could be better at padding, it gets squashed by just the bar and has made dents,
I’m 6’5 and the height adjustment is pretty close to what I would squat at with the bench being almost perfect height for me. Assembly was pretty easy but feet could be made longer for more sturdiness
Assembly was tedious but manageable. You could assemble the entire thing in under an hour without assistance. Installing the cross bar would be easier with another person, but it’s not impossible. I liked that it came with wrenches and I didn’t need any other tools to assemble it. My biggest gripe is that the metal is not as sturdy as I expected. In fact, when I was assembling it, I couldn’t determine whether the bolts were tight enough. It was then that I realized I was overtightening because the metal was starting to deform a little. So be careful not to overtighten because you can damage it without exerting too much strength. One other thing to note: I think they ship the product with the upper piece (the part that ‘catches’ the barbell’) backwards. I noticed it in some of the user submitted photos. The lower part of the ‘catch’ would make logical sense to be on the same side as the spotter arms. At the widest setting, the stands are just right for me to do a proper bench press. The spotter arms are not adjustable, so keep this in mind. I’m 6’1″ and I have to use the highest and widest settings to squat and bench. Lastly, the cross brace will get in the way when re-racking. It’s not a huge deal, but if you’re doing extremely heavy squats it might pose an issue.
Bought this about 6 weeks ago and used it several times now. I’m VERY glad that I bought stands that ARE attached with the base-cross bar for added stability. The stabilizer bar is a bit in the way for ALL exercises including bench press, as depending on what type of bench you have, the back-rest will sit on top of the stabilizer bar NOT completely flat. (OK by me, call it a 3 degree incline press!). Bar also gets in the way a bit when doing squats but no issue unless you’re going heavy (see next). I can’t imagine using these stands indepently for anything.
There are two bar-rests. The lower one is a typical L-bracket type off the stands and appears to be welded on well (Not sure I’d “drop” the weight into the rest “hard” like you do at the gym to make sure the bar is parked properly–you could be visiting your dentist and facial reconstruction surgeon if it fails). The welds look solid for the bottom rest, but I’m not sure I’d put more than 200 Lbs or so on there for a bench press. The “top”, upper-most rest seems pretty flimsy for a “rest”. This I note this as it’d almost certainly be your rear or front squat rest and lots of bigger guys are in the 300+ Lb range–will it work? It says it will, but there’s no way I’d put max weight on these stands.
With that being said, you’ll see I gave it a pretty decent rating. If you’re not likely to squat or bench more than 200 Lbs (which has got to be 95%+ of society?!?), this is a very good stand and exceeded my expectations which weren’t high to begin with. I use it in my home gym and I like it.
Easy to assemble, stability and sturdiness. The reason for the 4 stars, the price dropped $50 when I received the rack. I live on my own. It’s a hassle to take it apart and ship it back. Are you able to do the price adjustment?
Thank you.
Works great and very easy to setup, however unfortunately one key piece was damaged when arrived and I haven’t been able to contact the company for a replacement piece their email address is not valid
Just ordered this due to this pandemic gyms are closed and bought weights and this rack togthr! This stand is pretty sturdy and I have a chance to get back into shape for this summer! My dad loved it! I recommend to anyone rather than spending 120$ for gym membership.. I canceled mine already! Overall great product.
his is an amazing squat rack for a home gym! it was very easy to assemble! it doesn’t take up a lot of space and it’s very sturdy! it holds up a lot of weight and the squat rack is very adjustable!
Very sturdy and thick steel that is flexible in terms of height and width which is great depending on what you are doing for a specific day, on leg days I raise it high and on chest day I lower it. It also have pins for the plates to put on and keep the rack even more stable, I don’t think you need them tho unless you plan to do very heavy lifts and at maximum energy where you might want to drop the barbell on the rack.
The assembly was easy and took about 20 minutes, I did it alone so it could be faster if you get help, the wranch that comes with it is not the highest quality but it does get the job done for you.
Overall, for the price, this is durable, functional and great for home gym.
Outstanding for the price. Solid, safe and secure. Appreciate the barbell rack poles. I like the fact that you can use your own incline bench seamlessly. I am not sure about the weight limit, but for home use it will accommodate what you need. The unit was boxed perfectly, and came with extra (just in case) nuts, bolts and washers PLUS 2 tools to use to assemble.
I am so happy I purchase this rack. It came on time, I assembly it myself and it well made. It is made strong and I feel safe when using it on my own. I love all the adjustment points so I can get it to the correct height for myself. Been telling everyone this is the rack to get.
With the pandemic working out had been really hard, gyms are closed and running is an inhumane form of torture. Having tried to workout using a home gym set up this was a key part on renewing my willing ness to go to the gym.
Very easy to build, adjustable width and height, made to be very sturdy. One thing to note is that the minimum height is a bit too big for smaller bars. Overall a great purchase that will get a lot of use moving forward
Trs facile assembler! Vient avec les outils pour l’assamblage et est trs solide et stable! Je recommande forteme
This is a good budget space saving squat stand rack. I have limited space in my garage, so this was the perfect option (I can’t fit a power cage and had only 18-inches of clearance behind my truck). It took less than an hour to assemble (having a socket wrench helps) on my own.
Is this the most stable squat rack? No it isn’t, nor should you expect it to be for less than $100. I’m not trying to bench or squat 400 pounds off this thing. For the price point, it will allow me to barbell bench, overhead press and squat a decent amount of weight (100 to 250 pound range) with decent stability and safety.
It comes with weight plate holders and changes width and height relatively quickly. I was even able to add a landmine attachment that fits perfectly. I was nervous the stability bar would get in the way of unracking for squats, but it does not. If you have the space for a larger squat stand or power cage with greater weight capacity, I would skip buying this. However, this is perfect given my current space constraints. Do what you can with what you have.
Very well made , easy to assemble ( took me maybe 20 minutes moving leisurely ) . Great addition to our equipment . My wife is using it more than me but im ok with tha
For the value. Nothing beats this rack. Forego Rogue Racks if you just need to get your squats in and dont care for rack pulls.
Been using this for a couple of weeks now- it’s not bad for a starter/temporary rack. It isn’t nearly as solid as my friend’s full on Rogue power rack, but I didn’t expect it to be. It’s a tenth of the price of high end racks while still getting the job done. I might get some rubber mats underneath sometime, but it’s doing the job quite well for now. I picked up a cheap bench and it seems to fit over the stability bar pretty decently.
Pandemic home gyms here we go haha
I was eyeballing different racks on Amazon for a while and waiting until some decent one will go on sale. When I seen that this one went on sale I wrnt for it right away as most of the reviews were positive I decided to take it for a test run. Putting it together was fairly easy – I used my ratchets. Loaded up with 180lbs barbell (all the plates I got so far) and it didn’t move at all. There is a distance bar in the middle connecting both stands so you can’t step exactly under the barbell when getting it on traps for squats but it is easy to get use to it. Tested it for benching as well and I have no complaints. The height of racks is adjustable and works for me (I’m 5’9). I really like the durable and sturdy construction and I’m sure that I would have to pay much more for such rack at regular store. Works for me!
I reviewed many before purchasing. What made me buy this one is the comments that it was well welded and assembly was efficient. Plus I could use it as a squat rack.
The assembly was enjoyable and easy. It is easy to move yet sturdy when doing the bench press.
I do squats off of it. And love this rack.
The only issue would be that racking the bar is a bit tricky as the rack area is on the top as opposed to the side of the rack bar. And the lower stability bar catches you in the back of the legs while trying to rack, but it is doable.
Thank you!
First thought is this thing is sturdy, which is a much nicer surprise than what i originally anticipated. Instructions – easy. Building – easy, Height was adjustable, i slid my bench underneath it and its pretty much a squat rack also.
Theres a small weight rack built into it and aesthetically it comes together nicely
I bought this squat rack due to the gym closures due to COVID-19. It is a great squat rack for the price, the one thing that I am not the biggest fan of it the yellow piece at the bottom of the rack as it makes it hard to get completely under the barbell. But overall, great product for the price
Great instructions, strong welding, and nice finish on the paint. Even an extra bolt, washers and nut and two wrenches to put it together. Five stars the manufacture of this rack!!!
What with the gyms closing and all it’s been a while since I’ve been able to get a good barbell workout. Full power racks take up a ridiculous amount of space in small apartment and besides, all the local equipment stores are sold out anyways.
Enter this squat rack, which has been a total life safer.
This thing is as solidly built as they come. I squat about 225lbs with an Olympic bar and this thing can handle it no problem. I do agree that it’s pretty hard to get into position with the stabilizing yellow bar in the middle, but I usually just take it out before I start sets. If you add weights to the pins at the back the rack is fairly steady even without the stabilizing bar.
Of course I haven’t really stress tested it that hard, given that I live in an apartment and the last thing my basement neighbour wants to hear is me dropping metal on metal. But with the stabilizing bar and barbell it’s easy to do all your full body presses (bench, incline and military). The extendable barbell shelf is cool but I haven’t really found a use for it.
I won’t argue that it’s pretty expensive, but given how everything is practically sold out, I really can’t complain.
The product is exactly what I was expecting, i read about it before ordering and found exactly as described.
I using it with 100lbs on squat and bench press with this product. I am surprised on how sturdy this is. The quality of the material used seems high grade , looks like something really solid. It gives you more confidence while you use it, the way it holds the weight. It is easy to assemble, and super easy to put together I’m happy that most of it came welded.
I think its the best squad rack during a pandemic when you can’t go to the gym. It serve its purpose very well. You need to respect it you can’t treat it like you would at a commercial gym.
Recommended.
Parts seemed well packed but long arms supporting u-bracket for squats arrived damaged. Contacted support, and they offered to replace and make it right.
Replacement unit was perfect! Amazing bang for the buck, and super solid. Yellow bar can be removed for squats, and stability can be gained by adding weight plates to the holders.
I have seen comments about the bolts under the feet. This can easily be corrected by over-torquing them so that unit sits correctly.
Very pleased with the rack and the support experience!
Like many people mid pandemic this is a stopgap for me until the gyms reopen where I live. On that basis I didn’t have sky high standards and am not comparing to $5,000 rogue equipment. I simply wanted something reliable and not backordered or eye-wateringly overpriced like other items are everywhere – and it does the job.
It was delivered in a day, is very easy to assemble (ratchets easier than the supplied little wrenches), looks nice, can be adjusted narrower if needed when not in use, the storage bars at the rear can get 3 or 4 plates out of the way each, and so far seems pretty sturdy … although for at home workouts I am not exactly moving giant weights, the PRs can wait for commercial equipment.
Front squats, OHPs and bench presses are easy with this as well as easier accessibility over blocks/floor for rows and things. Back squats are a challenge to feel safe getting into position for given the support elements – there is a reason the guy in the product video presses the bar over his head before squatting! – but hey, it is not a rack, which is not an option for me anyway given ceiling height in my basement. I’ve been getting good daily use from this and am happy with the purchase.
I mainly got this rack as a squat rack for my barbell sets. After reading the instruction I was pleased to found it is able to do more than I bargain for. The adjustable width allows me to put whatever length of barbell on the rack without create any instabilities. Since I am 6’1 the height adjustment for me is a must so I do not squat too low when I am trying to dismount the barbell from my squat sets to cost injuries to my keens. The two position of barbell rest on the rack is great as I am able to slide my bench to do incline or flat bench presses, those are the exercises that I missed during the gym closure. I will say the construction of those steel is heavy duty, when resting the barbell on those rack I have not notice any major shaking from the rack itself this is just a more safety measure to not hurt myself during any weighted exercises.
So the material and construction feel very good. The steel is thick and painted nicely. It feels premium.
The yellow bar connects two stands to make it more stable, without it the stands will wobble too much. The stand legs could and should be a bit wider to add more stability. Maybe that way there would be no need for the yellow bar.
The yellow bar is sort of in the way of doing exercises, doing squats feels akward with it. Also, it is installed pretty high so your bench might touch it depending on the setup.
Another negative is the holes for height adjustments, there are too few of them, which limits the range of exercise. If you are doing incline bench press, you cant adjust the stand low enough unless you have super long arms. The holes cover exercises for leg squat and shoulder press, but if you want to do some incline chest press or similar , then you need to drill your own holes. Make sure you have a good drill and a bit.
Overall, this is the cheapest (still pricey) option to buy from all the overpriced racks. Because we have a pandemic, we don’t have a lot to choose from. I think this would cost 100 dollars during normal times, but now it is almost 300. So don’t expect super high gym quality rack, this is very much a home rack, for casual exercises.
You can still load it with really heavy weight, just expect some wobble, it is a good rack nevertheless for what it is intended to be, which is casual home workout.
Good prices, shipping was quick and packaged well. It isaabit lighter duty then I thought, but for the price I understand. I used my 1/4 impact driver to assemble and drove a few bolts in too far until I realized I was using too big of tool. The yellow bar does interfere with my wife’s form while doing a squat. This will get us buy until the workout equipment shortage is over and we can upgrade. Or she lets me buy a welder 😉
