    A really lovely mixer.
Mostly metal with plastic side checks.
A good array of inputs and outputs. Should be absolutely perfect for any small/medium or home studio. Amazing value.
However there is one thing that really bugs me about this mixer and a huge mistake on Behringer’s part. There is no on/off switch on the unit so I’ve had to install an in-line double pole switch to the low voltage end of the power adapter.
Such a shame. What were Behringer thinking?

Quindi compratelo: Behringer Xenyx 1202, proprio come ho fatto io…

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have been using it to mix live audio input for video from a variety of microphone sources. The unit is well-built with the controls well laid out. The variety of inout and output options exceeded my expectations. My only issue is that the plug and socket for the power supply unit is not as sturdy as I would like for mobile work, but I can live with that. It is important to remember it is four single audio channels with pan, plus four stereo channels with balance. In theory you could use them as an additional eight mono channels, but their usefulness would be limited. For what I need, this mixer desk is exactly right. The ability to handle both balanced (with or without power) and unbalanced audio is very useful, but make sure you use the correct adapters and extension leads or you will get noise on the signal. This is not a fault of the mixer, it is the nature of using unbalanced input incorrectly. For the price, I would highly recommend this unit.

    Well-featured audio mixe

Power cable tends to fall out unexpectedly, creating a huge pop thru the speakers so I have had to duct tape it down. Wish it had an on/off switch. Otherwise a great little mixer!

I am mostly using this product to connect a range of Roland Boutique products into one, simple mixer and this is perfect! It has four stereo inputs that work for my full size keyboards and four line in for my boutique range. The dials are large enough to be easily reachable and have a ‘click’ when they reach mid peak. The slider is for main volume out and has a nice set of ‘peak’ lights. It can do headphone control and sub monitors if you want to take it on the road.

The only downside is that there is no ‘off switch’ and the unit and it’s power supply get quite hot… I’m having to unplug it and the power cable has a habit of sliding off the back of the table. A cable hook or off button would have been useful. Also, there is no way to easily connect to a USB for computer.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThe footprint of this mixer was smaller than I expected. It’s a very compact design, but it looks exactly as the picture does. Although I’m giving this mixer 5 stars, it’s more like a 4.5 out of 5 for me. Overall, I haven’t run into anything big enough to warrant knocking off a full star. Use of the mixer was without issue, although I did find that it moved around when I used it. Some rubber feet would have been nice. This is a more technical review, for like-minded individuals. 🙂

I read some reviews that complained about power issues, but that wasn’t present on the 12-input unit that I purchased. However, the design of the power adapter is a bit… awkward. It’s one of these units where you get four feet of cord that go to the wallplug, and four feet of cord that go to the mixer–with the transformer in the middle. The main concern is that they use an uncommon connector. (In this case it’s a 3-pin mini-DIN connection.) So if anything happens to that connector, it’s not like you can simply replace it. Examining the two-prong transformer markings, it seems to have twin 17.5VAC/650mA power supplies. The mixer itself expects 15V, which the transformer likely provides when load is applied. In any case, when I plugged it into my mixer, the connection was firm and solid. No wiggle–the way it should be.

However, this kind of connector is not really designed to be plugged and unplugged repeatedly. It’s hard to explain, but the socket on the mixer will eventually not grip as tight. When that happens it will become harder for the mixer to draw power, and so the transformer will begin to overheat. I would advise that if you buy this mixer, that you connect the transformer to the mixer and leave it connected if you have to move it. Doing that will avoid connector issues.

I was curious, so I took a look at the schematics. First off, this is actually a 3-bus mixer, not a 2-bus mixer. Since it is a stereo mixer there is a left-bus, a right-bus, and also the FX-bus. It should be noted that the FX bus is a MONO bus. Stereo signals sent to the FX bus are converted to mono before reaching the FX-bus. Channels 1-4 are mono, and channels 5-12 are stereo. So while they call it a 12-input mixer, it would be more accurate to call it an 8 input/12 channel mixer. Why? Well since channels 5-12 (8 channels) are merged and converted to mono if shunted to the FX-bus, the FX-bus will only see 4 mono inputs. Added to the first 4 mono inputs, that makes 8 in total.

The only thing I’m not quite certain about is there is some noise leaking into the signal. It’s not a huge deal though. You’ll only hear it if you things are dead silent, and with headphones. Since I was piping the feed into OBS, I just slapped on a noise reduction filter. I can’t confirm that the noise is coming from the unit though–not yet. I’m added a ferrite core to the power cord, and that seemed to clean things up a bit, so it may be ‘dirty’ power on my end.

In the end, it does what it should, and it’s a reasonable price.

Behringer have come a long way since the early days of less than satisfactory build quality. Nowadays they build quality gear at great prices. This is a great little mixer which I have used live quite a few times and it has never let me down. Solidly built and easy to use.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLove this. I needed a good value mixing desk to plug my synths, drum machines, bass and mic into. This fits the bill brilliantly.

It has 4 stereo/LR inputs that you can plug synths and other stereo kit into and 4 mic/line ports for guitars and mics. Basically you can plug a whole band into this.

Gear range of controls from gain to tonal and a special effects feature for all lines. All output options you should need. It’s quite light considering, but solid and quite compact considering how many inputs it’s handling.

The console work well ive been using it with sone lavalier xlr mic and it is good. 2 things may be missing the be excellent. A power switch i could leave it plugged but it feel unnatural to do so as light still on. A little power switch on the device could have been good but still its a plug an play thing the way it is designed. The other minor thing is you have only one port to plug a headset, as i use it to record gameplay of video game and sometime i have more players with me it is cumbersome to have different splitter for each headset when you can have 4 mics at the same time. We can make it work but you still need other device to achieve this. It is small nitpick for me as i use it for not for what it is specifically designed.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI received the mixer yesterday and haven’t had the chance to check everything is working as it should. I can only assume so. First impressions are that the build quality is great. The knobs and sliders move easily with just enough resistance so they don’t feel loose. There is a little wiggle on the Main Mix slider but it’s not a problem. The sockets are all tight in their housing and my cables fit snugly. There is good length on the power supply cable.

The only thing that lets it down a little is that the base isn’t entirely stable. There are four plastic feet on the bottom and they don’t all touch the tabletop. This means that when you make adjustments on the mixer it knocks on the desk. This is clearly not something you want when recording. The obvious solution is to put a soft pad underneath (I used a leather table mat). I’d heard about this problem with a similar model many years ago. I’m surprised Behringer haven’t fixed this.

Aside from that the build quality looks great.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have used this mixing board almost every day for the past six months and I must say that it definitely was what I was looking for. The build quality is excellent and the ports and knobs work every time. The twelve inputs have made my life so much easier as I travel to different events with this little thing. While small in footprint, it delivers like a professional soundboard. When I first used this little guy, he was a little touchy when I’d adjust volumes and other levels. But once the initial learning curve was over, I’ve had no issues with this. I would definetely buy this again if I needed to!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have a smallish but good ‘acoustic’ amp which has 1 x guitar and 1 x mic input and wanted to be able to use more inputs. I thought this mixer was the route to go down so I could have a couple of guitars and a couple of mics. Then I was advised that it might not work as the ‘mixer was not intended for this use’. However they said ‘give it a go’. So, I have just hooked it all up and it certainly works so I’m keeping it until I can afford a bigger portable PA system. As others have mentioned the mains connection does not inspire confidence but after giving it a very firm push in it seems ok.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat bit of kit. Just finished using this for the first time for the sound at a small event, and it did the job just fine. Good quality microphone inputs and a good feature set in a compact layout. Glad I purchased a mixer with 4 as opposed to 2 microphone inputs as it makes the unit much more flexible. If I was being picky I would have liked to have mute switches on the individual channels, but this is available on the more expensive models. I thought the lack of a full level meter would be annoying, but in practice the 4-section one on this mixer is perfectly adequate.

A lot of features and channels for the money. For $80., you can put 4 microphones and 4 stereo devices to the mixer, or if you prefer, just 12 mono devices. I did not do a full test on this product since I gave this as a gift to my cousin. I connected this mixer to my laptop via the Behringer UCA202 interface card that I have. It worked without a hitch. This mixer didn’t have effects, so I used one of my guitar pedals (TC Electronics Nova Delay) to add reverb to the microphone. The reverb sounded great! To be fair, the pedal cost twice as much as the mixer itself. You can buy the 1202FX for $20 more if you want the reverb, echo, delay etc, or for another extra $20, the QX1202USB, will give you the capability to connect directly to your computer as well as the built-in effects. For home entertainment or for a beginner’s first foray into audio mixing, you can’t find a better bargain.

I hesitated for a long while before buying this mixer. My initail choice was the Behringer 1204, but I hesitated so long that it went out of stock then came back in at a much higher price which I was reluctant to pay. I am delighted with the 1202 and would highly recommend it as a basic mixer.

I use this product every week for practice and small to medium gigs. It is built great and works perfectly. I have always been fan of behringer and once again I have not been let down. The pots don’t crackle and the not a single piece of this piece of equipment is subpar. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a mixer that does the job and does it well.

Used this mixer and many gigs now. It’s small, portable, perfect for local pub gigs etc. Would recommend to any small bands doing gigs. The low cut feature is great for mics and the control room output can be used as a monitoring output instead when playing live if needed!

Great mixer for my drum mic set up which I have connected up to a Lexicon Alpha Studio USB Audion Interface to my laptop. Great quality for the price if you are on a tight budget.

So far, I love it. I have had other small Behringer boards which suffer from noise, but this edition is pretty quiet. Using it as a cheap DJ mixer for my PC based DJ set up, it has a good full sound and could be used for a small two guitar gig with two vocals. Does not alter the sound of Shure mics, I did use the aux for monitors with good result…

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am giving this item 5 stars because it is awesome litle mixer, was not expecting much for the price but this little unit (it is very small) as I went from Mackie 1202 to the Berhinger 1202 (anyone see a similarity here), this is basically the same as the Mackie mixer but slightly smaller, recieved it, hooked it up and it worked perfect, few minor adjustements and sounded as good as the Mackie, perhaps better, plus it took up less space on my desk. Only weird thing about this unit and it has been mentioned before is no ON & OFF switch, why?….problem solved by using a power strip and using the power strip to power the unit on and off, the only other way to power it on & off is by unplugging it from the back to turn it on, and plugging it back in to turn it on, using the power strip to avoid much wear and tear on the power source connector, this was really stupid of Behringer, never ever had any kind of mixer without a power on & off button. All in all for the price, I should not complain much, will pick up another for my daughters studio as it is that good.

One of the best small mixers I have ever worked with! I have been using sound equipment for over 14 years and this is a great tool to have! If you are looking for a mixer for a small to medium venue, I would highly recommend this one! Only has 4 xlr inputs so be aware of that. Would have to use 1/4″ cable for the remaining inputs. Sounds great and works like a charm! Easy to use.

Product has worked well, just wish they had included a power switch. You can solve by running it off of a switched power strip. For the price a great product. Now that we have used it some, wish I had one with more channels, but that is always a price versus features decision.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this board initially to mix my various computers’ audio outputs so I would only have to use one headphone output (prior to that I had a hard-select panel). This mixer has worked great for mixing small rock bands, as well as for live DJ mixing. I have also done limited recording using this, although this is not necessarily designed for that role. For its price, it is a very powerful piece of equipment, and over the two years that I have owned a 1202, my board has taken lots of abuse and kept on ticking like nothing happened. It even survived a fairly careless coca-cola spill on my part, and came out no worse for the wear. No additional noise either.

The board does have a tiny amount of preamp noise, but overall is not a problem unless you’re working on heavy-duty recording projects (and again, this board isn’t designed for that).

My only real complaint is that it does not have an on/off switch, but I bought a single-outlet switch that it’s plugged into so that I can turn it on and off at will.

I highly recommend this board if you’re doing a lot of on-site operations, especially as a DJ mixer or podcaster.

I had this mixer for 3 months now (as of writing). Used for some time and does its job. I really don’t have anything bad to say about this mixer coz its my first one (of its kind). I have used this on some recording projects, skype and ustream. It would be a better product if it had a power switch.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI bought this to do basement studio – recording. It works great to add electric guitars , microphones for vocals and get them all sounding good together.

We use this mixer along with a digital interface and record to a computer using a digital audio workshop. It is very simple basic stuff but it helps us polish our songs. It is very versatile and works great.

My band loves it. The effects are fun too. I use an extra power strip as an on off switch for this. For the price this is a great mnixer.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersI’ve used this for 30+ gigs with my band (a live electronic/dubstep act), and for hundreds of hours at home.

The desk is very simple and sturdy, the compact layout means there are few parts that can be damaged.

You can have a maximum of 9 simultaneous channels at once: 4 xlr/big jack inputs with gain pots, eq and 80Hz low cut (useful for mics); 4 mono/stereo jack line ins; plus the phono (rca) ‘CD’ input if you need it..

Outputs are either stereo 1/4 inch jack or phono.

With these features and more (phantom power, external fx send..) this is a great product for the price!
