The dirty water collection tank is full at the full line which is about 1/4 full and when full it no longer works, once you work this out it’s easy to use.

I have kids and my carpet accumulated dirt with food stain patches all over. I used this product as directed and the result is amazing. The most important is that after washing, the kids can use the room immediately.

I think I say enough when I say I have two dogs: a very fluffy one and a very naughty one. The second keeps peeing inside because it’s too cold outside and just sits in front of the door when in the garden. Even with a coat on. I was so tired. My old CC stopped working suddenly but , to be honest, it wasn’t that great. This one is amazing. The carpet is now perfectly clean, doesn’t stink at all and dries pretty quickly. Recommended it to my colleagues!

The product did not come with a small hose? To do the stairs tried it as soon as I got it to be honest did a decent job carpet looks clean and fresh.
I’m really happy with my purchase. It’s easy to use (there is a good you tube video of someone giving instructions on how to use it), it managed to remove old stains that other stain removers failed to, it left the carpet damp rather than soaking wet and it smells amazing. Photos are before and after. The after photo was taken while the carpet was still damp. Might need to go over it one more time but I’m really happy with the result. The water tanks are small so you need to keep emptying/refilling them but it’s not too much hassle at all.

I had a vax for a few years and found it wasn’t doing the job properly anymore,plumped for this cos I know Bissell are a major leader in this feld,easy to put together it all just clips into place,I had only washed the carpet a few weeks before,after a good going over in my apartment which took 3 tanks as it is small,in half an hour the amount of dust,dirt it picked up,I was astonished with the result,carpets look clean and fresh,the good part about it is you can remove the front guard and clean it and get inside to clean it out,an absolute must for an outstanding clea

Great little cleaner! Easy to use, easy to clean after use! Did my whole house in a couple of hours! Depends what type of carpets you have but mine were dry from between 3/5 hours. Definitely recommend. Vacuum every day, was absolutely shocked at what this cleaner brought up!

Our carpets have been knocking about for a while, and we have several cats, so they have taken a fair old beating over the years. Getting a carpet cleaner seemed like a reasonable shout therefore.
It’s easy enough to put together and get going, and once you do, boy howdy. It’s kind of like using those facial pore cleansing strips, and when you pull them off, they’re covered in horrible gunk they’ve pulled out of your face. The colour of the water in the dirty water tank after a few minutes of cleaning will make you wonder what the heck you’ve been walking on all this time.
Be aware, this isn’t a huge and powerful industrial model – it’s just the right size for someone who occasionally wants to keep the carpets in their small to medium house clean, and needs a cleaner that won’t take up too much room when not in use. If that sounds like you, then maybe give it a go.
The carpet cleaner is good at its job, cleaning both deep and shallow pile effectively. It seems relatively well-made, though some of the plastic water containers feel a little soft. Time will tell if they are resilient. The power lead is quite long enough and the containers easy to fill/empty. It did get quite clogged up with cat hairs, which shows (a) that it was good at picking them up and (b) my vacuum cleaner wasn’t. But they were easy to clean out as the machine dismantles with a couple of clicks. All in all, good value compared with having ‘professional’ cleaners in to do the job. Quick too. Lounge took all of 15 minutes.

I’ve been renting a rug doctor every few months but wanting something permanent, so this Bissell PowerClean Carpet Cleaner seemed like a good choice (fortunately, it was provided for free in exchange for a review).
The quality of this vacuum is excellent – it doesn’t feel cheap and feels well put together with everything clicking into place securely. It’s also lightweight and easy to manoeuvre. The PowerClean is smaller than the Rug Doctor, but my property isn’t exactly big, so this is ideal for me. For larger rooms, the Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution may be a better option. It has a bigger tank which holds much more detergent. It also has a smaller tool for cleaning stairs, edges, and upholstery which is sadly missing on this smaller version.
In terms of performance, this is working brilliantly. To my surprise, it works better than the Rug Doctor despite using the same Rug Doctor carpet detergent. It removes dirt and stains very well and leaves the carpet looking almost like new.
Overall, this is an excellent carpet cleaner which is a great value. I may upgrade to the ProHeat 2X Revolution in the future, but at the moment, I’m happy with this PowerClean.

Even though our carpets and rugs are not that old and we do not wear our outdoor shoes in the house you will be surprised that the bissell machine will clean deep. Empty the dirty water reservoir before it is full and job done your carpets will be almost dry. Some areas may need a couple of goes but the carpets will spring back to life and look new again. Clean your bissell before putting it away to keep it working at its bes
This is a neat machine very light simple to operate. The water capacity is very small, dispensers very quickly. Probably only suitable for small lightly soiled areas. Takes quiet a while to dry. I used to have the large one which was great but impossible to store if you are not using often. That one removed the excess water this one doesn’
It is light weighted that I can push and pull easily. It does its work that the carpet get cleaned. It takes about 2-3 hours to dry depending on the weather.
Easy to use. Lightweight and small enough to easily store. Carpet was dry within the hour and it really lifted the pile.
Bought this to replace an old cleaner. I read the reviews and thought that if half of them were true, I would be happy. The first time I used it I was shocked at the colour of the water I had to get rid of. I knew the carpet needed cleaning, but didn’t realise just how much dirt there was in it. I now find myself going round the whole house. Its an obsession! Get one and find out for yourself.

Very easy to use. This machine cleans very well though the clean water tank is quite small and requires refills frequently. It does however do a very good clean of carpets with a good even result overall. Would reccomend.
I bought this and done a perfect job of cleaning my carpet, i must admit it hadn’t been cleaned for a couple of years, so good that i recommended it to a relation and she bought one, both amazed how well it cleans
This is the second Bissell I’ve owned. this one is so much better, cleans really well, suction is excellent leaves carpets just damp, the best part is cleaning after use, my old one was a pig to clean half hour job………..this one a few minutes.
Bought this to replace my existing Bissell machine that I must have had about 12 years. I can now give my old Bissell to friend as it is still working well

I think this is a reasonably well priced product for what comes in the box. The unit is super easy to assemble with clear instructions but does not come with any shampoo so i had to buy this seperatley to be able to use the cleaner. It has good stiff brishes underneath which clean debris from the carpet really well. The suction is good but could be better but this wasn’t an issue for me as our carpets just needed a freshen up so there wasn’t to much debris to pick up.
The water tank is easy to empty once finished and the size is ok meaning you don’t need an awful lot of room to store this. It is also super lightweight when empty, not so much when it has been filled but this is to be expected.
I would have liked to have tools to be able to clean soft furnishings etc but this unit is a carpet cleaner only.
Love the way it brings the carpet up like new.We have a cat and I couldn’t believe the amount of hair came out of the carpet ,which is vacced every day. The only downside is the switch which is very low down on the handle and quite stiff to turn on and off . Otherwise for the price well satisfied with it.
An excellent carpet cleaner. Easy to assemble, no screw driver required. Light weight, cleaned well and carpets dry in no time. So easy to clean machine after use compared with my old Vax model. Couldn’t be more pleased with my choice and can recommend for value and efficiency.

Only gripe is that the dirty water container does not match the capacity of the cleaner bottle, which means you have to are regualrly changing/cleaning and refilling one or the other. It would also be great if you could apply the cleaning solution to the carpet without the vacuum, just to allow the liquid to work into the fibres.
Other than this, i’m very pleased with this particular purchase. Well worth the money
After having a disaster with washing wast pipe coming adrift flooding cuboards and hallway i soon found out how good this little but mighty machine is because of it’s size I easily dried carpets in 800mm sqaure space can’t recommend this cleaner highly enough!!!!
Pretty easy to use. Set up was so quick and easy to do. Came with a small bottle of liquid which was great. My only negative is that the on/off button is really far down the handle so it’s in an awkward location. Otherwise great product for a good price.
I put it together easily, reviewed instructions (all pictures) and was able to get started within 5 minutes of assembling it which was easy and didn’t need any tools to do so.
The suction was amazing, so was the result, very clean and fresh smelling carpet.
I’ve actually put it under the stairs within reach always because this is going to be so easy to use for any spillages big or small.
So worth the money too!
I’ve given this Bissell carpet cleaner a good running and following another spillage yesterday I have to say that I’m really impressed. It did a really good job, better than the Rug Doctor kit you hire from Tesco. It cleans deeply without getting the carpet too wet and the brush head really lifts up the pile for a revitalised look.
The only down side is that you cannot easily do the stair treads, but maybe there is an optional attachment available. It would also benefit from a slightly longer cord to save having to change plug sockets as you move around a room. All in all, it’s a very good cleaner with a couple of minor niggles that might not bother some users.
This is quite a basic carpet washer but that’s not a bad thing. Its super simple to set up and use and does a fantastic job.
I used with Bissell carpet shampoo which had a small bottle included with the machine and have since purchased a much larger bottle as we had great results using this shampoo.
One tank of water with shampoo was enough to do our whole lounge and dining room. The mix of of water to shampoo is really easy to measure as there are markers on the actual tank.
I really like I could see when the dirty water tank was getting full. The clean water tank is attached to the handle so when you are washing your carpet you can see directly in to the dirty water tank. A little but makes a difference.
The carpet came up really clean and felt slightly damp, not wet. The suction on this carpet cleaner is excellent and lifted almost all the water out the carpet. It dried in about an hour. The pile on the carpet after washing was nice and lifter, the brush on the cleaner had left those lovely carpet lines like you get when you mow a lawn.
I would have really like this to come with a hand attachment but apart from that I think this is an excellent carpet washer. I knew it didn’t have the attachment when I ordered the cleaner so cant complain. Overall its very impressive and amazing value.
Good points: Very light weight. Can be stored in pieces so very helpful if you’re limited on lack of space. Super easy to fill up, empty and clean after being used. My mum has a Bissell carpet cleaner which doesn’t come apart and has to be stored in the garage. I’ve used my mums and this is much easier (my mums has a water reservoir and a wash reservoir this doesnt). This only has one reservoir but I think that means you don’t have to rinse it (my mums you put the wash on the carpet, then rinse that off with the cleaner hence the two reservoirs.
Bad points: Instructions have no writing or on the bottle so guess work as to wether you rinse or not. You have symbols at the top of the page with correspond to a separate booklet which does have writing in. It did clean the carpet well but only lightened old stains and didn’t get rid of them completely, but I didn’t pre treat as recommended as not enough instructions for that unfortunately.
This is a very small but useful carpet cleaner. The beginners, tight on space, no frills version (you can easily take the handle off). It is relatively narrow, so it is perfect for small flats, where you need to try to preserve your final security deposit.
It is let down by the manual hieroglyphics- these things are daunting at first.
You vacuum up the fluff and dirt thoroughly.
You put the warm to hot water and a low foam carpet solution in the top.
A well protected on switch is on the back.
Move the thing back and forward, depressing the shampoo trigger in the handle.
Move the thing back and forward without depressing the trigger to try to suck as much water you can out of the carpet- you want it to dry out quickly before it starts to smell like a cat rescue with ammonia fumes.
Wash all the bits thoroughly before the dirt sticks to the bottom and hairs get permanently entangled in the rollers. Apparently you need to unscrew the plate to remove the rollers. Really, don’t put the kettle on before you have thoroughly degunged it, even if the muddy water is making you wince.
Technically I prefer a bigger bulkier version, but I don’t shampoo carpets that often. If you want a stair cleaner, there was an excellent lift off machine by Bissell, but it doesn’t have the moisture sucking capability.
Good newbie machine. No point spending more until you are sure you will use it. But a bit tricky on the maintenance and has no upholstery bits.
First an admission. I was offered this free for review purposes, and thought I was getting a regular vacuum cleaner (which I happened to need). I’ve never had a dedicated carpet cleaner before, and was a bit disappointed when this arrived.
However, I have to admit that when I gave it a trial, just for the sake of the review, I was wildly impressed. I’m pretty houseproud, and my carpets were far from dirty, but even so, this gizmo made me realise how tired looking they’d become.
It’s easy to assemble, easy to use, and… well, it’s not cheap, but it’s worth every penny. Not something I would ever have purchased for myself, but if anything happens to this one, I’ll probably have to replace it!

No bigger than a standard upright vacuum and not overly heavy, like a lot of carpet cleaners are, all but the tiniest homes wouldn’t be able to find room for this.
A well-known and trusted make, Bissell have done another good job with this powerclean model.
Easy to assemble, it has 4 rows of brushes to really give the carpet a thorough clean and had two tanks (one for dirty water and the other for clean), so you’re not going over the carpet with dirty water. Its easy to remove the tanks and the nozzle to empty and clean with clear and simple instructions. The instructions also include info about water temperature and adding detergent. Its easy to use and doesn’t leave the carpets sopping wet, like some do.
I was very much looking forward to trying this as we had a drinks stain in the carpet from a month or so ago which I was unable to get out by scrubbing and our old carpet cleaner no longer worked. I was unsure whether this would be able to get the stain out as it was dried in and had been there for so long, but it did! Very impressed. (You might not able to tell from the picture, but trust me, the stain is gone! Thinking about it I should have taken a picture before for comparison).
I’ve only done the one room and part of another so far. My plan was to do several rooms and then take pictures, but as I have to move some of the furniture outside in the other rooms to give me enough space, I’m having to wait until the weather gets a bit better for that, but judging on what I’ve seen so far, they’re going to come up just as well.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t come with any attachments for the stairs etc. which would be useful, but for its ability, ease of use and lack of bulkiness, this is still well worth buying. A decent price for a very efficient machine.
First impressions wow this is light. But one the liquids are in it has a little weight to it. I used the bissell solution. Smells great. I felt like I might of been doing something wrong because it took about a half an hour to clean 3 rooms and hallway. The cleaning up as far as the detachable pieces are pretty easy to clean but the other parts can be quite difficult to get cleaned.

I’ve got a new grandchild and I’m conscious that my carpets were looking a bit dull and grubby, a combination of having a pet and areas of heavy use.
The vacuum comes mostly assembled, with just the handle to attach so it was quick and easy to get going.
At least you get some cleaning fluid to get you going, not much but enough to do a room.
Instructions are straight forward and I was shocked at the amount of dirt and grit there was in my carpet!
My carpets were still a bit damp after using the vacuum, despite passing over the cleaned area several times to ensure the maximum amount of liquid was removed. I didn’t expect them to be dry but I definitely think that it would be better to clean carpets in the summer when you can leave your windows open all day to allow any moisture to escape.
I haven’t tackled my stair yet as I don’t think I’ll be able to get a good clean with the machine as there’s no separate hose for small areas and it’s going to be too awkward to try and balance it on the stairs, which is a shame.
Cleaning the tanks out is easy and it’s surprising easy to store as it’s quite compact.
For the price I wasn’t expecting it to be as effective as it is so I’m really happy with the value for money and it works out so much cheaper than getting someone in to clean your carpets, paying for itself after a couple of cleans and it is quite satisfying watching the amount of dirt that you get out of the carpet.

Really easy to assemble from the box. Clear instructions are given. The whole machine is reletively lightweight not much heavier than a standard vacuum. Clean and dirty storage capacity is good for a standard room. Easily emptied and cleaned. Supplied with tester size cleaning fluid only. Refills easily available.
Quaility of deep clean is good and suction works well leaving carpets damp to touch but not wet. Ideal for finishing off the spring clean.
My new favourite gadget! This is the first carpet cleaner we have owned but wish we’d got one sooner!! I’m actually eager to go round and clean the whole house now!!
It arrived well packaged and was extremely easy to clip together. The instructions come in a booklet and are just in diagram form which takes a little time to work out – some text would have been nice! The water is easy to add to the top tank, and a bottle of the cleaner is included which you just add to the ‘formula’ level on the top tank which is clearly marked.
The ‘on’ switch is a bit of a faff to find and is located low down on the handle – my only gripe about the machine! – but once it is plugged in it’s ready to go and really light to push and easy to manoeuvre around. It doesn’t make a loud annoying noise, and once you see the dirty water tank start filling up you’re filled with glee and horror!! The carpet didn’t look that dirty before but it must have been deepset haha! We have carpet by our back door so that obviously gets a lot of muddy boots by it so we used it there and on the rugs and were really impressed with how quickly they got cleaned! Obviously use a spot cleaner before the machine if it’s a really big stain, but just normal daily dirt was easily ‘magicked’ away!
It’s also easy to store away as it isn’t too bulky so we’ve put it with our normal vacuum cleaner in the cupboard under the stairs – and I’m already itching to get it out and use it again! Really impressed!!
I’m really impressed with this carpet cleaner, ive never used one before as I had heard that they were pretty useless unless you have a professional industrial one but this is great! Its not too big and the handle and top tank can be removed to make it half its height which is good for storage. It has a great length cable and is pretty straightforward to use. Also included was a little bottle of shampoo which smells amazing although a little more expensive to buy separately than other shampoos.
The carpet pictured has never been cleaned, we’ve had it for 5 years and its in the kitchen so its pretty grubby (we also had pet rats and now have toddler so you can imagine the state ) with a full tank of water and half the shampoo the washer has transformed this rug, the pictures don’t do it any justice really (there’s a before and after pic and a pic with just one side cleaned) but the white is so much brighter and the royal blue is actually royal blue and not blue/black, there’s a couple of stains which are still there but they are no where near as bad as they were and this is just after my 1st try so im hopeful they will be gone after another couple of cleans. The carpet is wet after use but not dripping so should dry in a day hopefully.
Its a bit noisy but not overly and the tanks are easy to remove and rinse out which is good as the dirty tank on mine was pretty disgusting after just half a rug (properly amazed at the amount of filth in the tank)

Lightweight, well made and easy to assemble.
We have used other brands of carpet cleaners before and they were bulkier and a bit cumbersome to use.
Also they left the carpet a lot wetter than with this albeit we still had to do a fair few passes to get it dry.
Well worth the money if you have a lot of carpet in your house.
I was so happy to try this, it’s easy to assemble, handle and push and it actually leaves my carpet drier and just as clean if not cleaner than my old one did.
It’s compact and light and would fit in my wardrobe easily if I wanted to store it in there but I’m going to put in the corner along with my small vacuum cleaner and put my rarely used big vac in the wardrobe instead, that way it will be easier to use the carpet cleaner regularly and stay on top of the dirt.
I found it easy to assemble, the handle just clicked on, easy to fill, it has markings for how much water and formula and easy to empty the dirty water.
The instructions are all in pictures but are easy to follow so all good there.
The cleanup at the end is super easy too with the exception of the transparent part that goes in front of the brushes at the bottom. I cleaned with a cloth as per instructions but found it hard to get all the grit out. I think it will be easier as time goes on if used regularly as there will be a lot less grit and dog hairs that way.
Just one or two little gripes.The bottle of formula they give you is small and in my case it only cleaned one room size carpet, I think they have been a bit mean there, I’m sure they could pop in an extra bottle if they wanted to.
The formula tank emptied quite quickly. This might have been my fault as I may have been pressing the trigger too hard or for too long, I’ll have to try and adjust the way I work it and see if that helps.
It’s hard to see if the machine is still picking up liquid while using it as the bottom part with the dirty water tank stays upright all the time. These are only small things and don’t really affect the usability of the machine.
I would recommend this machine to anyone who needs a quick easy machine for a small or medium room, particularly if you need one that’s easy to push and lightweight. I know will definitely be using this one regularly.
A few bits to put together before starting.

You need some elbo grease if it’s a thick pile rug but does a terrific job
The Bissell PowerClean arrived boxed and in perfect condition. I found it really easy to put together and the instructions very straightforward. It is simple to use and really lightweight.
I’ve taken before and after pictures so you can see the difference. For a first go on this area of carpet, I was quite pleased with the results. All the superficial mud marks were removed. Some of the more ingrained marks have remained, although I’m hoping they will shift after another usage or two.
The two tank design is great for ensuring that the carpet is cleaned the clean water and not recycling the dirty water. The manufacture quality is high and it feels durable and hardwearing whilst still being able to control.
Only other negative is that I wish there was a smaller attachment for cleaning the stairs but overall I would say that this carpet cleaner is perfect for easy cleaning and for freshening old carpets up.
This Bissell carpet cleaner is easy to assemble once you have played around with some of the clips and water tanks. There is an instruction booklet and comprehensive safety leaflet. The instructions are mainly pictures which are not that clear so you really do have to work things out for yourself. The two pieces of hollow handle push into each other to form a solid handle. The clean water tank is at the top of the machine and needs hand hot water. A small 256ml bottle of carpet shampoo is include – about 3 doses worth. The on/off button is at the bottom of the machine and is tricky to push as it is so far down and is protected with a water proof plastic covering. The handle has the shampoo release button. This is billed as light weight , but I found it heavy to use and a bit tall as I’m only 5ft. The plastic parts are uncomfortable on the hands as the edges are sharp and hard. The long flex is tidied away by looping it the side of the machine. This cleaner is good for small areas of carpet as the water tanks are not that large. The carpet is still quite damp after cleaning, but not not too wet.
Easy to set up and operate and it really does clean the carpet/rugs really really well! I also liked that a bottle of the brand’s cleaner was included, it smells really good and I got two tanks full out of it.
It was a little harder to push forward and back on a rug I have which had a bit more texture/higher pile to it but it still cleaned it really well!
The only downsides I found was that it is quite clunky in size, so it’s an arm work out to operate and not the easiest to store. It also would have been great if there was a detachment for doing the stairs.
We are now in a house and we only have carpets and rugs (not fitted). We used it to clean all of them. It worked brilliantly. I must admit I haven’t cleaned the carpets in at least 6 months and although they didn’t look massively dirty the amount of fluff and dark water that came out was unbelievable. If you have pets, this will also be useful as it removes hairs and fluff. The carpets smell lovely and they look really clean and fresh. I had no problem doing the stairs but it was slightly bulky for them. It took 5 minutes for each carpet, but if it’s proper dirty or stained you might need another go. It has a tank for the fresh water and soap and the other one to pick up the dirty water. It has a button that sprays the water as you hoover. It will probably work well on stains if you use some baking soda with it. It’s powerful but not very loud. It comes with a bottle of the liquid cleaner which you can afterwards buy another one or make up your own.
Easy to assemble, followed the easy instructions. Easy to clean afterwards too, just used some water. Comfortable to use as it’s upstanding. Little force required too. Didn’t break my back! Comes with 2 years warranty.
I had a carpet cleaner previously which was rubbish! It trailed water around the carpet and not much else. This is so refreshing, in that it works an absolute treat. It’s a bit fiddly to put together and I’m never one for being great with instructions, but overall, they are simple to follow.
This is also really lightweight to move around. Its also easy to empty the dirty water and dirty it is! It did a grand job on my sons typical teenage grubby bedroom carpet and I’m so pleased! I was considering new carpets, but this has brought me at least another year! This is absolutely highly recommended
This is a first class carpet cleaner. It is easy to put together and so light to use. I have just had a professional cleaning company to clean my sofas in the orangery and I paid more than the cost of this carpet cleaner. I was so disappointed as the marks I wanted removed were still visible. I have two cockapoos who rub up against the sofas which is why I needed them cleaned. I used this carpet cleaner to clean my rugs and then changed the water in the tank and redid my sofas and I am delighted with the results.
This carpet cleaner is brilliant, easy to use and despite being so lightweight does an incredibly good job of cleaning carpets and upholstery. I am giving five stars because I am unable to give ten.

When it was delivered it did require some very basic assembly, but this was simply a matter of clipping the two parts of the handle to the main body of the machine. I should mention at this point that the instructions consist solely of diagrams/pictures, there is no text and some of the pictures do need some thought to interpret them. I think that this could be improved.
Using the machine is quite simple, the top tank is pulled out and filled with warm water, they say no warmer than 60 degrees C, and ‘formula’ (i.e. shampoo detergent) is added, there are lines to show how much water and how much detergent. Once the tank is replaced on the machine and it is plugged in it is ready to start work.
The on/off switch is rather fiddly and awkwardly placed, low down on the back of the machine, but once it is on it is similar to an upright vacuum to use, except that there is a trigger in the handle which releases the detergent on to the carpet, I found that the best technique is to release the shampoo on the forward stroke and then release the trigger for the back stroke to suck the dirty water out of the carpet. I found that for our carpets three or four passes without the trigger being pressed got out most of the water out, leaving the carpet damp but definitely not wet.
So, how did it perform? I would say excellently, both the colour of the dirty water and the brightness of the carpets bore this out, We will be cleaning our carpets more regularly now that we have a machine that actually makes a big difference.
Is it perfect? very nearly, it fairly easy to store as although it looks quite bulky, its footprint is fairly small, it works very well, it is quite easy to clean, is isn’t too heavy and it is no noisier than a vacuum cleaner. The only thing that I would like extra would be a hose and attachment to allow stairs and upholstery to be cleaned as well.
It is worth checking which detergent you need as well, as the price of a full size bottle of the same type as the sample they provide is about 28, but there are other versions of the Bissell shampoo for about 18, which may be just as good for you.
First thing you’ll notice about the Bissell is it’s weight, it’s very light, I was expecting a heavy product, I used to have one of the old tank type carpet cleaners , a different make, but using it felt like a work out, this is superb weight, even when its full of water it was easy to handle.
The clear water tank is removable, take it to the sink, fill it up to the water mark, add you cleaning formula to the next marker, I gave it a little bit of a shake to make sure it was mixed okay, then it clicks easy back in to place.
Using the Bissell is very easy, plug it in, and switch it on, there is a trigger on the arm which you press, this sprays the water on the carpet, release the trigger and it will vacuum up the wet, it’s as easy as that.

The beater bar seems to be very good, it attacked the carpet perfectly, our carpet is a dark grey, although I could say I saw a massive difference in the overall look of the carpet, what I did see was some very dirty water, we have a dog who likes to get muddy and wet, this obviously was picking up some of his left overs.
If the tank is full of dirty water it will stop working, there is a marker to tell you wen its full, emptying the tank is simple, release to side locks and it lifts out, no water spillage or leakage, you then empty the dirty water
This is a great carpet cleaner, I like the fact its not heavy, doesn’t feel like Ive done a work out when I’ve finished cleaning the carpet, its very easy to use, my old one was very difficult to use, this is as easy as any vacuum cleaner.
