Good quality saw for DIY jobs
I bought this for two reasons; 1) I have always rated Bosch as a brand & 2) this particular model comes in a heavy duty storage case, which many do not. The saw was delivered just in the storage case with no packaging, so there were a couple of slight mark on the plastic case on delivery. The saw itself is easy to adjust (cutting depth and angle) and use. It also comes with a cutter blade that is already fitted, so it can be used straight out of the box. As per other reviews the only down side to this saw (which doesn’t really bother me) is that it doesn’t have a brake, so it takes a few seconds to stop rotating before you can put it down. Great circular saw though.
good value
Powerful and does what is says on the tin. Recommend.
Like cutting through butte
Nice and quiet saw, very easy to setup and get going and with the new blade you ca tell the difference if you’re cutting through air or chipboard, very smooth going and easy to cut
Unit came with a case which I wasn’t expecting so was a lovely surprise although it probably was mentioned in the listing but I missed tha
So far honestly its EXCELLENT
So far its really awesome
I havent expected to be so smooth but its really the best piece I had so far
I hope will last long
Im using it to make cuts in hardwood like oak and walnut and its really a smooth and easy cu
An excellent choice of circular saw.
Very easy to use and can do bevel angles that most saws cannot.
Standard blade gives an excellent quality of cut even for fine work.
The carry case is good quality but big still at least it comes with one.
This is an extremely powerful saw that is likely to give many years of useful life. Very impressed and would highly recommend.
Quality saw
This is a excellent tool for the money, used out the box no setting up would recommend no problem
Great tool.
I have been using this saw for the last year or so. Great to use. Not to heavy. Very easy to use….
Very capable saw
Apart from the Allen key falling off the tool body all the time,it’s a great tool
Accurate and easy to use Circular Saw
Easy to use, very sturdy and fast. Long enough cable for any job. I have bought this circular cutter to do my decking and it just the right tool to use. Very good handle grip and a strong storage box looks very professional. I would recommend that for anyone.

Very happy with this circular saw.
Really pleased with this saw. Previously I had an old black and decker circular saw attachment. With this Bosch saw I can cut smoothly and cleanly and I am already thinking about more items to make. Very happy.
Brilliant Saw, absolutely raging it dropped by 20% couple of days late
Bought the saw to build a 3.2m x 3.7m pergola with all straight cuts and scallop cuts, mitre cuts of various angles and also, depth of cut. These various adjustments were very easy to use and I used the parallel guide to long cut 6ft fencing slats. I wished I had bought this last year for other tasks I had. It made light work of the large amount of cuts I had to do.
I felt it was value for money compared to Screwfix etc, but was a bit upset when receiving an email from Amazon a week later asking would you like to buy again with a price drop of 20%
I also bought the Bosch sawdust collection bag which worked fine to keep the work area clear just needed to empty it regularly.
Fantastic
Fantastic product, as you’d expect from bosch professional products. Excelle
Nice (Chinese-made) saw.
Bought mine when it was on offer (75) and overall I’m happy with it. It complements my old B&D saw which is 10 years old and showing its age. The Bosch is definitely lighter and more manageable but nothing remarkable – I don’t like the safety button on it though. Don’t get me wrong the feature itself is a must but I just find the design here a bit fiddly and causes some faffing which is not ideal when using a hand-held circular saw. Maybe it’s just me. I did ponder for quite a while whether to get this one or the Makita but the near 35 difference at the time was enough to sway me and I’m sure this one will do admirably. I’ve registered it and got the 3 year warranty which is a nice bonus as well as a very nice plastic case which I’ll probably never use.
Good tool
Delivery very quick and its awesome when you need the portability. I’m working in the loft cutting loft boards. It save having to bring it out of the loft to cut using my hand saw.
Well made, effective, saw.
Well designed, safe and easy to use. Cuts very swiftly.
Great saw
My old Hilti saw gave up the ghost so I was in the market for a new saw. Hilti don’t make the model I had anymore and there new model is not up to scratch. Spent a lot of time on the internet looking and finally picked this Bosch. First day I cut 300 metres (yes 300) of 4×2 studwork, piece of cake! For the past month I have used it everyday and it is a dream to use. I’m a carpenter so it has to work hard and it seems up to the job. I’m a bit anal about power saws (as you can see). I need something that will cut timber with ease and also cut 18mm MDF at 45 degrees and this saw does it. I haven’t missed my old Hilti yet and don’t think I will. If you need a small saw with plenty of guts go for this one!
Working perfect.
Working with this skill saw is pleasure!
King regards

Great saw.
Bought this when there was a discount on Bosch. Did buy a blade with more teeth for finer work as never keen on the rip that comes with. Makes cutting a dream and straight with great depth too.
did the job
I approached using a circular saw with a bit of terror, but I found the power of this saw helpful for the applications I was using it for. I found it adjustable and easy to use (after studying all the circular saw dos/donts). I did find buying the right blades quite hard though.
Good produc
Good product but had obviously been dropped as the corner of the case was crushed. Did not effect the product but when you buy a new item you expect it to be perfect.
Cuts your wood, not your bills.
A good powerful circular saw for diy/hobbyists provided a clean cut through 40mm softwood. Sighting the cut is not immediately clear as safety guard and guide plate obscured view, but cut follows smoothly. A good choice that hopefully will last. Comes with adjustable cutting guide and all in a large plastic storage case with handle.
Excelle
Excellent saw Bosch have made a good product bought for cutting sleepers and cuts no problem
Bosch Quality
Had to buy this as my parkside saw motor burnt on the first use. This is really good saw and comes in a nice professional looking box. Wish the guide clamp was bit longer, but you can always use a straight wood clamped to you work piece to get the guide. Doesn’t come with a bag for dust. So attach a vacuum cleaner for cleaner work place.
So good I got 2.
Second one of these I have purchased.
First one for myself, second for my dad. What more do I need to say.
Good experience
Delivered very quickly does the job I bought it to do that’s all I could ask I’d buy agai
I’ve been living my life using a jigsaw to cut wood. I also bought a table jigsaw to make life easier but even with a guide, as they cut so slow, I’d never get a perfect line.
With this – I trimmed around 1cm off the bottom of a door when I put new carpet in and didn’t need to use a guide to get a perfect line. I simply placed masking tape on the door, drew a straight line and followed it with this. It was like putting a hot knife through butter, cut with ease!
The only annoyance is that blade shield which you have to prop up a bit when cutting something thick as it gets in the way. You can let go once the cutting begins but it’s an awkward annoyance. I’d prefer if I could adjust the bottom point but it’s a minor complaint.
The box it comes in is very sturdy as well but like all Bosch tools; the hardest part is putting the power cable back in the box so it will close properly!
Definitely recommend this.
I bought this on special offer. At full price, it’s the same price as Makita and DeWalt models which I’d prefer.
It works well. The included blade is fine for rip cuts, but if you want to cross cut or cut plywood you’d need a different blade.
The most important omission in my opinion is a blade brake. Once you come off the trigger, it spins down in about 5 seconds, while with a brake you could instantly put it down. It may not sound much, but I find this annoying, and I’d now buy a model with an electronic brake.
This will take both 190mm and 184mm blades, although with 184s the depth gauge will be off.
Bear in mind it’s technically limited to thin blades, I believe 2.4mm or thinner. Many blades you might want to buy are thicker than that.
For the money these are good
Before buying this I had both a B&Q own brand and Ryobi circular saw. Both my old circular saws quickly ended up in the skip having bought this and a selection of blades for this. This performs much better than any circular saw I have used before including an older dewalt saw I borrowed. So far these have produced really clean cuts when cutting ply, M.D.F, and oak boards. I have used them to trim doors and these made light work of my solid oak doors, producing straight and accurate cuts.
An effective, quality tool
As expected from Bosch professional, an effective tool, worth the money
Great saw
Really like this saw always used makita saws this saw seams to be more powerful
Excellent Produc
Everything that you’d expect from Bosch. Would recommend changing the blade to an 80T for superior cuts on Ply wood or MDF. Totally recommend this product.
Great machine.. Must have
Great product. Good control. Easy to use and set. Top buy.. One of the tools I use the most and still goes strong
Quality saw
Was in two minds whether to get this or the Dewault, but the price swung in.
Used a couple of times and have to say, it’s an excellent saw , at a very nice price
Purchased as a Christmas Present for my dearly beloved and he is pleased as punch!
It been good for me too, he has now made various garden items (bird boxes, duck pen etc.. ) from the ‘don’t throw that away’ pile of so called ‘good piece of wood’. His questionable ideas are now, dare I say it, a welcome reality in the garden and it’s various inhabitants are content. I, no longer have to wince at the sight of clutter that was once propping up my shed!
Thankfully, it’s a tool that gets used and isn’t collecting cobwebs in the shed.
The only hindsight issue was the cord. Always aware and extra careful, it can get in the way, Cordless will be considered in future.
Overall, a good product, arrived promptly and suitably packed.
Details... for 240v model shipped in 2019
The current model (with supplied user manual updated as of late 2018) specifies blades that are 190mm (7 inches) and a 30mm bore (i.e. you don’t need to use any reducer rings). Supplied in a clam-shell box that’s well made, using two latches on top – the box is not lockable.
A great tool
I love this Tool. It’s well balanced cuts clean and accurately although extraction attachment is easily knocked off
Overall very happy with i
Very powerful device, it works perfectly , the only issue I had so far was that the saw didn’t cut all way through to the end , maybe because of the table I used or maybe due to the size of the plywood. Overall very happy with it.
Cutting edge
As the tech progresses I have started to buy battery powered tools, but felt I needed a mains powered device for this work. Also the battery powered ones are rather more expensive. This looks well made and if it lasts as long as my last saw (40 years) then I’ll get a battery powered Bosch next time.
Big, powerful saw for the price. Mainly leaving a review as I had seen a guy saying he was disappointed that the blade is off the square by 1mm. Not sure if he was attempting to show off how tight his margins are but this is not a saw one should be using if 1mm will scupper your plans. If your looking for an ultra precise saw get a plungecut rail saw, however if your looking for a good roughing saw this is your tool. For the price, not a grumble to be had.
brillia
I love my power tools, and have to admit to being a Bosch fan. This ripped through my wood pile as I made a window and door frame and fascia for my garage, and it made light work of it. I have noticed it kick back a couple of times, but that was more to do with me and how I was using it. As with all tools, use PPE and common sense, and this should be a worthy addition to anyone’s tool collection.
Nice piece of ki
Nice piece of kit. I’ll have to change the blade as it’s pretty coarse, and I want to use it for joinery work (making furniture).
Very pleased with quality and price
Bought as a present for husband. Very pleased with quality and price.
Great tool, we'll put together and easy to adjus
Great tool, well put together and easy to adjust. Very powerful. As with all circular saws – use carefully. Comes with a ripping blade, not used, as purchased a Bosch cross cutting one for the project. Would definitely recommend.

Great upgrade from my old saw, lots of power for trimming doors and sheet work.
Comes in a huge case and has a long, good quality power cord and a 2mm thick blade. Cuts very well and feels good in the hand, but my only niggle is the base, it’s not as rigid as I’d expected. It’s a circular saw so that’s just a minor grumble.
All the usual Bosch Blue quality: quality cable, motor is smooth, powerful, switches and ergonomics are very good indeed.
This is supplied with a quality plastic case ( not the L-boxx style) and a Bosch Optiline blade (which gives a suprisingly good cut for a supplied blade) and a hex key for blade changes. The supplied case is superior to the ‘L-boxx style’ in my opinion: it only has two latches to open, it is easier to carry ( and it makes a pretty good seat, should the need arise).
**Top tip: register your saw with Bosch online within 30 days or receiving it, and they upgrade your warranty to three years.**
Bosch GKS 190 Professional Hand-Held Circular Saw, 1400 W
I needed to take down some large chipboard cupboards for my mum. They they were too big and too heavy to take away in the car, so I had to have them cut down. This particular saw cuts through dense chipboard like butter and was all done in seconds. I’ll definitely be using this for other projects that I have lined up. This has an excellent safety mechanism, so that when the saw is cutting, the guard is down and the blade is below the surface. Like all other circular saws, it does have a kick-back towards the end of the sawing, be aware of this.
I would recommend protecting your ears from the loud noise and also getting a dust bag.

A little heavier than some but all the power you need to go all day, hopefully backed by Bosch reliability.
Like it, but the rail isn’t compatible with this model.
awesome and powerful
awesome ,powerful and just what you expect from a leading brand very happy with this item
Having laid floor boarding in the loft, laid a kitchen floor and currently in the process of building a shed, this tool has been invaluable. Making cutting quick and painless it consequently made the jobs likewise.
It is heavy though not as heavy as some others Ive used in the past. It cut true and was easy to use. As others have said, the box was massive. An Incredible Hulk of power tool storage boxes but the saw needs and deserves it. Just make sure youve got space for it. This is a quality tool that needs respect but treat it well and Im quite sure it will give many years of service. Thoroughly recommended.
Wanted one for years. Opportunity arose when I received vouchers so took the plunge. Typical Bosch quality and hopefully reliability.
Brilliant bit of kit, glad I bought this one. It was recommended by a fellow tradesman.
Powerful, ease to maneuver.
The only downside is that it cannot be used with the Bosch guide rail.
posts etc like butter. Box is bulky though
Cuts fence panels, posts etc like butter. Box is bulky though, but that is due to the size of the saw.

Great bit of ki
Great bit of kit. Blade is rough saw will need to replace for fine work came fast in a solid case very happy. Good price.
It cuts through inch thick treated wood like it's not there
I have only used this saw for a couple of small jobs – replacing a handrail on some decking – but it performs superbly.
It cuts through inch thick treated wood like it’s not there!
Very powerful with a good depth of cu
Very powerful with a good depth of cut. My last circular saw was an attachment for a Black & Decker power drill ! Very satisfied.
First rate circular saw
Astounding. I’ve sometimes thought about getting a circular saw but I’ve always put it off because of the expense and the amount I thought I would use it but now I think why did I wait!
I’m a novice but cutting is so much faster and easier, and straighter, than I imagined (the included guide rail makes this effortless). I’m now kicking myself thinking about all the time I’ve wasted straightening up the uneven lines I cut with a jigsaw, this makes my cuts more professional by comparison.
I was a little peeved it didn’t come with the Allen key that is supposed to be included (I have surplus ones anyway so not that big an issue but a definite oversight on behalf of Bosch) but, pleased it came with the dust extraction adaptor that the manual says is an accessory, however, you’ll need to supply your own dust collector (whether bag or vac).
I should have got one of these a long time ago, still, better late than never.
I got an opportunity to try out this saw today cutting down a fence slat to width. I attach photos showing the very clean cut it made; I was pleased with how easy it is to follow a line with the notches on the guide plate; the blade cover rotated smoothly allowing a long cut without any judder where it became deeper than the wheel’s diameter.
The box is very bulky and takes up a big chunk of shelf space, but holds the saw very securely.
I can see this saw coming out many times over the next months as I fix another fence, build some furniture and lay some decking.
I have had an opportunity today to use this to flatten the line of a fence. As can be seen in the video it is useable from the awkward left direction and it gives an excellent cut despite wet wood. I apologise for the hint of a builder’s…
This circular saw is from Bosch’s Professional range. It comes in a very strong carry case which will stand up to a lot of battering and the tool itself has a good, solid feel to it. It is very nicely put-together and I always appreciate it when equipment is made to this standard since I know that I can rely on it. The cord is nicely flexible and has a good length (approx. 4m) which is always helpful, and I like that it feels steady to hold with good balance both in use and when positioning it. The results using the supplied blade have been very good and the cuts have been quite presentable but I’m going to buy a finer one too for a better finish. Although it obviously produces a lot of dust the blower does a good job of keeping it away from the cutting area so it doesn’t interfere with the work. There are some accessories in the box including an adaptor to attach a vacuum but I haven’t tried that out yet. The motor is very powerful and has easily coped with everything I’ve used it with so far; in fact I don’t anticipate it struggling at all. I haven’t found anything with this tool that I consider to be a problem and have been really pleased with it.
This comes in a strong, blow-moulded carry case which is actually strong enough to sit on. The case holds the saw, fence and instructions and there is also a place to hold spare blades, these are held securely in a recess and under a flap so there is no danger of them coming loose and the sharp teeth aren’t accessible. A well thought-out case.
The extractor-hose adapter has to be clipped on to the saw, this seemed a little tricky to get it securely attached, however once attached I’ve left it on, dust extraction on circular saws is never brilliant anyway. The saw comes with 4m of rubber mains lead, nice and flexible, I put this over my shoulder when I am sawing. Handles on the saw allow for a good solid grip. Adjustments are clear and easy to make, it doesn’t have a laser line but that isn’t something I’ve needed as I almost always use the fence.
This saw has plenty of power and the supplied blade ran through some one inch planks with ease. I’ve also used it, with the supplied blade, to cut some kitchen worktop, which it did with ease, a beautiful clean cut with no chips. The supplied blade is a general purpose rip, blade change is with the standard Allen key and one is supplied, clipped to the saw. Blades have the standard 30mm centre hole so no messing with adapter rings.
Overall a powerful, competent saw.
This is a fantastic piece of kit. Well housed in a plastic case. This circular saw will do most of the framing/joinery/cutting jobs you will encounter whether it is as a hobbyist DIYer or as a professional carpenter/joiner. You get all the attachments for fitting dust extraction, a spare blade and a parallel guide. The saw works really well and cuts a clean line. If I was being picky I would really have liked a laser guide on the front projecting the cut-line forward as using the parallel guide sometimes takes longer to set up than I would actually use it for., however, this is a really good piece of kit and I can’t really fault it for that – just need to spend time in set-up. You do get 4m of line as this isn’t a battery powered model and to be honest I don’t mind that. The only things I prefer as battery powered these days are drills and screwdrivers, I don’t use a lot of other toys frequently enough to keep batteries on charge.
So far, I’ve been pretty impressed with this 1400W saw. It’s a step up from the old 1000W Bosch saw I used to have, and, although it has a lot more plastic on it, it still feels solid. All the controls work well. I had thought the extra power would make it less likely to bind, but I have still managed to stall it a couple of times (more user error than the saw’s fault, though!).
It comes with one blade (installed) and a rather large storage box. While I’m sure the box will protect it very well, it does make the whole thing take up rather a huge about of space, and yet it’s still a bit of battle to jam the electric flex and one spare blade into it. Also, the instruction manual is not very good, covering hundreds of languages and so being rather difficult to flick quickly to the relevant page in English.
These minor quibbles aside, this is a very good saw which I’m happy to recommend.
This is an excellent, capable, powerful circular saw.
The things I like about it are:
1. It comes in an excellent and robust hard case, which you would expect with a professional power tool like this
2. The saw is very well made, having that “engineered” “solid” feel that Bosch are renowned for.
3. As you would expect with a new blade the quality of cut is good with little or no splintering, however it comes with a general purpose blade, and finer blades will obviously give a better finish.
4. The motor is powerful enough to cope with even demanding cutting jobs.
So is it all good?
Well, this is an incredibly capable piece of kit, and it is what it is, a corded powerful saw that can be used all day.
And there is the only problem for me – corded.
I am so used to cordless power tools that the cord is a nuisance.
It would be very unfair to criticise this very capable piece of kit for being corded, and in all other respect, comfort, control, accuracy, quality of cut, power this scores 10 out of 10.
This is a seriously professional piece of equipment.
It comes in a solid and very sturdy case. The saw itself is heavy and powerful. I used it for cutting plywood and some decking. The guide meant that I was able to maintain a beautifully straight edge although the supplied blade might need to be replaced by one with finer teeth if the finished cut is going to be on show. But that’s about using the right blade in the highly impressive piece of kit.
It is a corded saw but to generate this amount of power I think that’s necessary. A battery which pushed out this amount of power would have to add greatly to the bulk so I think corded is the answer here.
What a Difference
For a long time I have used cheaper power tools, including a circular saw from a well know DIY store. So when this arrived I immediately unpacked it and put it to use – what a difference.
The saw is a good weight and extremely well made. The supplied blade is a general purpose one, but in truth it is more of a rip blade. For more delicate work you should use a blade with more teeth. That said, the quality of cut and the accuracy of this saw is far better than my old cheaper ones. The motor is powerful (1400w) enough for almost anything and the whole unit is compact enough to allow for good control, making it easy to cut a straight line – although I prefer to use a guide for accurate straight lines.
The saw comes in a heavy duty carrying case, making it easy to transport and store away after use. It has an outlet for waste sawdust and you can fit a workshop vacuum to it, making the job of sawing far less messy. However it is almost impossible to stop all the dust so if you need, wear a mask. The saw is adjustable height wise and it locks well into position.
I admit I do have a couple of Bosch power tools already and in time I shall be replacing all my cheap power tools with quality ones like Bosch.
It does everything right, including the price
This is an excellent piece of kit. The power from the 1400 watt motor is great and although the supplied blade is not ideal for fine cutting I could tell that this is going to be an easy to handle and therefore accurate tool. It is reassuring solid at just over 4kg. The bevel up to 56 degrees is best in its class. It turbo blows the dust out of your way if you are not attaching an extractor (accessory included). It also works for left as well as right handed. To cap it all the supplied case is strong and well designed. This is truly a professional tool at a DIY price. I really can’t fault it. I’m off to buy some more blades.
great saw
great piece of kit v well made usual bosch high standard
Five Stars
Brought as a present. Very well received now my husband want one as value for money.
First class circular saw at a great price.
Seriously good, professional circular saw that cuts effortlessly. Comes in a good quality robust case. Purchased specifically for cutting kitchen work surfaces it has been first class and with careful handling cuts a nice straight line. Fantastic price too. Overall really pleased to have added this to my tool set.
After having wasted much money on cheap tools I decided to go for a professional piece of kit and so far I find it fantastic. Cuts very smoothly (ripping, although I will probably get a finer blade for cross cutting, as there are is some splintering here), with plenty of power and easy to handle. The fence is sturdy and holds the saw well in place. One feature I like is the ability to lock off the saw at different depths – it’s basically a lock for the plunge mechanism. This means for normal thickness boards, where you don’t need the full depth of the blade you can raise the body up, which gives clearance above the board for the motor. This means that you can use a simple home made guide rail. With the motor fully in the down position, there is no clearance except for the very thin (and very expensive) Bosch own guide rail, which would be difficult to make yourself.
Delivery was very quick, but the driver just left the package outside the door without ringing the bell. Luckily people are honest here!
First time I’ve ever used a circular saw so can’t compare it to others, but it seems solid enough to me. I needed it to cut through some flooring (under 10mm thick) which it did with no problems. Easy enough to adjust and use. Only thing I was surprised by as a novice was just how much sawdust it produces. I taped it to a vacuum cleaner nozzle and there was still loads of dust, so just be aware and get mask/goggles if you don’t have them already.
A very good and safe product to use as well as a very accurate saw and powerfull and a,good hand grip
