Window to Your WorldThe RC-5 features the most advanced interface available in any compact looper pedal. The LCD lets you keep an eye on loop status as you perform, with a backlight that changes color to indicate recording, overdub, and playback states. And coupled with the multi-function parameter knob, itâs quick and easy to navigate rhythms, kits, system settings, and more in the heat of the moment. | Deep ControlThe RC-5âs versatile pedal switch controls all looping functionsârecord, overdub, play, stop, and undo/redo. But deeper control is also supported if you need it. Connect up to two external footswitches for direct control of many assignable functions, or an expression pedal for continuous adjustments. Players with advanced systems will love the TRS MIDI I/O, which saves space and enables remote operation from MIDI switchers and foot controllers, plus MIDI sync with drum machines and DAWs. | Move and Groove, Forward and BackWith 57 preset rhythms and seven different drum kits, the RC-5 is ready to elevate loop and practice sessions with inspiring grooves for any style. For each rhythm, A/B variations can be selected from the panel or controlled via MIDI while performing. The RC-5âs looper engine also includes a cool reverse function thatâs great for infusing your music with fresh sonic colors. | Capture, Practice, and PerformThe RC-5 provides 99 phrase memories, letting you store loops as fast as you create them. In addition to audio, a phrase memory includes the selected rhythm and kit, so itâs ready to go when you call it up. Loop audio can be backed up to a computer via USB. And with WAV import via BOSS Tone Studio, the RC-5 becomes a pedalboard playback hub for lesson material, jam tracks, or backing music for your next gig. |

Nice piece of kit. Very useful addition to a pedal board.
An incredibly versatile, useable and has a great memory. Hard to believe, given the size and the price, but it phenomenally good. Bought as a present for a serious musician, who loves i
Nice to able to download loops straight into the peddle. In proving my playing using thus
I just want to share with you a problem I thought was due to the pedal.. I had been using this pedal a few days ago in a studio and was working fine, I then connected it in a different room for a set up i was due to do in a days time so had everything set up ready only to find to my horror the pedal wasn’t working?
I have a Boss adaptor so used that thinking the battery was dead and no the pedal still wasn’t working and thought how can that be it was working the other day checked back here and found out it was a year old so no way returning it now.
I put this problem aside to be sorted and once i was able to spend time with it I suddenly realised i was using the wrong leads linking the pedals, I found i had used stereo leads..
Wondering if that was the problem I quickly found out once i connected the mono cables it was now working.. What a dummy I was..
So just in case anyone gets this problem on the BOSS RC-3 Loop Station Loop Pedal..
Check you haven’t connected with stereo leads before sweating that your pedal is done for…
It might also save a heck load of messing about sending a perfectly fine unit back.
I bought this for my 14-year old son….he has not stopped using it when he gets the chance and it amazes me what he achieves. Worth every penny ans o starightforward to set up and use.
Can be a pain to use, but does the job
Quite basic and straightforward to use. The display is useful if you haven’t used a looper pedal before
Excellent. Looper. Stereo and. with added footswitch easy to. use no degradation in sound no matter how many loops. You record
I have this lads bigger brother for gigging, I just wanted this guy for a mini pedal board I was putting together for a busking setup… As with all boss items, this is bulletproof and intuitive, plenty of recording space….
Good looper with the drums feature is handy to keep time. Doesn’t seem to be an option to globally set drums levels and presets when the power is removed so need to change drums volume and reverb each time unit starts which is bit frustrating. Drums can be started indipendant of the loop.
Menus are fairly easy to navigate – nothing too complicated, fairly responsive. Creating loops very simple and overdubs easy to add and remove. Remember it doesn’t come with a power adapter and the battery will last hardly any time.
Fun practice aid and with the many slots to save loops. Not tried connecting it to a computer yet.
Takes a little while to get your head around it. Drum kits are really handy. I’ll get there eventually
Gift for my son who loves this and uses it constantly. He is very impressed with it.
great looping pedal saves me time when making my songs
get my songs done quicker and better very happy wth this
boss product well made out of metal well worth the money
Does everything you need it to do. Sturdy and reliable. I have a minimal board, just a few boosts, wah and tuner. This sits at the end of the chain, I record rhythms and loop them, then work out leads over the top. Perfect.
Very impressive build and sound quality. Nice compact size. I have home DIY fitted couple of switches to replace the external footswitches for more control onboard.
However,
Drums are just start and stop. Please don’t expect any fills, transition, intro or outro. Keeps you on time though. Single loop only. Need to install software in your mac/pc to upload backing tracks, its NOT drag n drop. Also, the file has to be converted to Wav format. Extra hassle, but it is a very handy pedal (recommended) for those who likes to play along backing tracks.
The main thing i dislike is that; when you are clearing a recorded loop, after stop; you press and hold the pedal, at this moment the track plays for about 1-2sec before its cleared. So your crowd may not appreciate that.
Overall its a good pedal, it does OK for my need but i guess the hype is more than what it really does, unless you spend a good fortune on midi controllers. Don’t always go for brand. Get what satisfies your need.
Been using this pedal as a practice tool. It’s really good and the drum patterns are more than adequate for that purpose. The only criticism I have is the traditional chunky Boss footswitch is not exactly ideal for a looper where I would prefer the reassuring click of the button style found on the RC10r and RC500 rather than the spongy feel you get with the boss pedals. Other than that it’s pretty good, simple to use and takes up virtually no space.
Honestly this is amazing. My first ever pedal and I love it so much.
Great quality looper pedal. Doesn’t seem to loose any sound quality no matter how many overdubs. Battery life doesn’t seem to last that long and it’s controls are a bit fiddly. But the more you use it the easier it gets. Looping is very easy it’s just other settings that are forgetful.
Would recommend as a basic good quality looper.
Ok if you specically need a single pedal, but I realised after just 10 minutes I wanted/needed the additional features and easier operation of the twin pedal rc30, so returned and got the rc30 instead.
The light system to show at which point you are in the loop
veramente formidabile!!!!!
Molto robusta ed intuitiva , BOSS NON SI DISCUTE
Great little box, super fun to play with. Very easy to learn and high quality build, although the value for money could be better. At this price tag, you can’t expect anything else.
Very easy to use . You can actually download backing tracks via your iPhone and play along .
You can overdub and harmonise licks
Like all Boss pedals, this is built to last. Very sturdy construction and I’d expect it to last for years. As with any looper, it takes a bit of practice to get the timing right but once you’ve got that down it’s very easy to use. A great practice tool.
Arrived within two days, has rhythm feature that no other looper has, plus huge memory.
It does what you expect. The multiple memory locations are good to store works in progress.
Only thing I dislike is that the drum beat does not transfer with the rest of your creations when pulling down to a computer.
Need to watch the timing when starting a loop but you quickly realize you have to start on the 1st beat.
Its a bit a step up in price from the classic RC1 but it is so packed with extra features it should be the better buy for most players. With enough functions to take you from your first bedroom strums though to gigging the RC3 should become a staple on every pedal board. And like all boss pedals built to last.
Like:
-You can connect it to your computer and store backing tracks.
-Lots of functionality. Bit of a learning curve but it’s simple once you’ve used it a few times.
Dislike:
-It didn’t come with any cables -no power or USB cable.
I realize this seems to be a standard approach with pedals, however when I pay for something of this price and quality, I expect it to come with a power supply and USB cable.
Well made as boss pedals always are, nice and easy to use, would recommend to anyone looking for a first looper pedal
Bought for son’s birthday, easy to use, robust, arrived on time.
As an amateur guitarist I just wanted to mess around with Looping. This is a great pedal – really strong, really intuitive and easy to use and does exactly what the spec says. The battery it came with ran out quickly (but it only claims in instructions to be for testing anyway) so budget for a new battery when you buy it (or the AC adapter not included). Memory is great – 80 approx. tracks can be saved and you have about 10/12 pre saved rythmns on there too to jam along to.
Need to be careful as no off switch – so could blow amp or run battery down – but read instructions about taking out the jack (which acts as on/off) and you’ll be fine
You can rig it as stereo or mono depending on your cables but this means you can also use one channel to run a mic and one for the guitar for looping voice & instrument separately – which is great fun when you start out.
Highly recommended
Hours of fun. Better when you get the boss switch for stop and clear.
Small learning curve to use the pedal from no experience with loopers, and would heavily recommend reading the instruction booklet if you’re not already familiar with the full functionality of this pedal. Extra functionality on top of the RC-1’s are way worth the extra price (I only paid 10 extra). Internal metronome is very useful.
I have been using boss pedals for over 20 years now and never had an issue with them. Value for money does not seem to be that attractive anymore compared to some of the cheaper offerings, but with the boss pedals you know they will stand up against time and abuse. If you are only using this for practice and want to save money you might as well go for one of the cheaper options, but if you want reliability and using your pedals for professional gigs, Boss is the way to go.
A must for any aspiring musician. A great bit of kit.
I have no regrets about purchased this pedal, that’s amazing! thanks for agility and efficiency.
un pedale Boss cos “a prova di bomba” come previsto. Molte funzioni, anche se mi sarebbe piaciuto vedere pi pattern di batteria nel generatore di ritmo come la versione mono.
Great pedal as always from Boss. Bought a skinny little twin pedal to go with mine as I don’t like one button doing 3 things. The looped tone is slightly different than the played tone but only slightly.
For everyday practice. It’s sounds awesome and is easy to use.
Simple to set up and it comes with an easy to follow manual.
Grandson loved it and quickly got the hang of i
This is obviously pretty much a standard pedal and whilst it is expensive it is a pretty quality product.
It is really easy to set up loops.
It has about 10 rhythms which are not programmable in any way, but you can change the tempo.
You can’t alter the speed of the loops.
I think the sound output can be noisy and it doesn’t come with any power lead which is pretty standard but annoying for beginners.
Does the job but I was underwhelmed in a couple of places.
Nice. Product fun to use. I’m enjoying it a lot. Good packaging. Not even a single dent on the box .
This was a Christmas gift for our son, he seems very happy with it!
outwardly simple, awesomely capable, easy to use, tried, tested (and explained in video)
absolutely does what I wanted it to.
As it comes, straight out of the box, absolutely bewildering (I’m old, prone to bewilderment)
But, if you change the out of the box set up, as shown in online video’s, it behaves as you would expect.
Thereafter, the only limitation is you.
(and for me, that’s a fair old limitation)
Lovely toy, behaves as expected (after modification)
sound is wonderful.
love it.
Great effects but difficult to get to learn how to use i
well pleased with this pedal, proper BOSS quality at a reasonable price
I’m very happy.the pedal is great and very useful.thanks
Spettacolare ed inoltre per i fraseggi su gli accompagnamenti il top!
Amazon Impeccabile !!
The Boss RC-3 is in my opinion the best looper on the market. It sounds great, looks great and is excellent value for money. My Strat sounds fabulous put through it. A wonderful little Stompbox!
I did try recording my own backing track with mixed success, but it is simple to upload commercially available music. The file format must be ‘wav’ but anything can be used. I have some Boss created tracks and some from the internet. Recording and overdubbing is easy, but it is not possible to move between tracks using the pedal, that must be done with small buttons on the unit which is a minor inconvenience. Hooking up to a PC is simple and the freely available Boss Tone Studio simplicity itself. Tempo changing is a real bonus so as your playing improves, you can speed up the backing.
Great little pedal for simple looping. As with all Boss stuff, really well built and sounds great.
This is brilliant… Hard to get use to…. But enjoyable
