Bought for my plug in oil radiator to warm my room up before I get up in the cold morning. It does what it’s meant to and is easy to set up. It goes off and comes on when I set it and am happy with i

Cheap is not always a good idea but this has been running daily for quite time now in a very humid environment and is still all good. No awkward fiddly little pins to use these plastic push pins slide in and out for on and off very easily and unlike those old style pins they can not be lost.
It is being used in a very large reptile enclosure (separate from the reptiles) and is very good.
Easy to set and easy to do a visual check that all the timing segments are in or out.
Cheap and simple but still recommended.

    It does the job.
I use it to control an electric blanket. Its fast ticking noise while working is not hearable, but it makes a clicking noise when turning the electricity on or off which sometimes I can hear during the night.

It works and does the job, unlike what another reviewer says mine works the correct way as per instructions, we use it for switching on and off our moth trap.

Bought this to use on my sons gecko lights. This has prolonged the life of the bulbs and has also meant the lights are only on for the period they need to be in for, saving electric. Works really well and I’m happy with my purchase.

I would say yes good product , the notches that have to be pushed and pulled need small fingers, I bought this to work with my heater together and tested fine.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this to turn on lights while away on holiday. The settings are intuitive and it is easy enough to use without any instructions.

The timer works in fifteen minute increments which is more than I needed, but it is easy to change the settings so that is not a problem. There is also a manual override which allows you to disable the timer, essentially leaving the plug “on” full time. This means you do not need to faff around with unplugging the whole thing if you want to use the item plugged in during off hours.

The item feels well made and I see it lasting me a very long time. It has all the functions I need and was cheaper than similar items at the point of purchase, so I am happy with my buy and would purchase again if I needed multiple.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSeems well made and works fine. Please note the pins have to be pushed in to be off and out to be on. This is opposite to the enclosed instructions and the first time a timer like this that has ever worked that way!

It looks and feels very plasticky. Simple enough to set up. Think you would have to be a bit careful with the little prongs but overall it does the job it’s intended for.

Great for the money, set the time by pressing the 15 minute sections down to cover the time you want your light on. Turn the timer to the correct hour of the day, plug in.

I work 10 hour shifts which is too long to have my slow cooker on and I don’t often want to stand cooking a meal after my shift so this is great I can set it to come on hours before I get home and it’s all ready. Loads of you tube videos how to use it too

I wanted to have a light display at the bottom of the garden. It would need to be plugged in to a power point in the shed, so a timer would be ideal. I wouldn’t have to go down the garden, maybe in the rain, to turn the lights off at night. This does the job.

Makes a ticking/grinding sort of noise, which is to be expected. However it is a little louder than I’d anticipated. Timer works as it should though & is very easy to set up. Happy with mine!

I have now bought 2 of these. I have had others that ‘tick’ constantly and/or are so small it’s virtually impossible to set the tiny on and off tabs. These are much better – they make NO sound at all and were quick & easy to set. Arrived next day. Simple, easy, reliable. Recommend.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWe use this to power-cycle / force-hard-reset our Crap BT Home Hub Router.

Our printer used to drop off the Crap BT Home Hub Router after a few days of the Crap BT Home Hub Router being left on like you want to leave it so it can get on with just working.

Now that we use this to power-cycle the Crap BT Home Hub Router each morning (it is turned off for 15 minutes between 3.45 and 4.00, then re-bots when the power is turned back on), the printer is rock solid and reliable

It’s not smart, it’s dirt cheap, it has few ways to go wrong. Great!

It’s only down side is that there’s not a lot of space around the socket, so if your appliance has a stupidly shaped wall wart (like a Crap BT Home Hub Router where the cable sticks out of the top), it might be slightly awkward to fit it in.

I had used this type of timer switch before so was quite willing to buy 2 at a time. Fairly easy to set up by depressing the 1/4 of an hour segments for the time/times you want the power to be on to whatever is plugged into the timer switch. I wanted them to come on at 1130 pm (2330) and off at 530 am (0530) and this has worked. You also have a switch on the side which can be used to override the timing. Note it is essential to rotate the time disc in the direction of the white arrow so that the black arrow head is at the actual time of the day, then just plug the timer into an electrical socket which is switched on. It is advisable to check now and again that the black arrow head is still reading the actual time, if not adjust rotating the disk again.

It is a relatively quiet and easy to use plug in UK socket timer, adequately made for basic low powered items such as plug in lamps, it is a 24 Hour sellective on/off timer. I would not use it outdoors or in a wet environment, great value for money.

I have had problems with electronic timer regarding whether the power is on or off or checking setting times and temporarily over riding the settings. This timer has 96 segments, push down if you want power at that time and a little red light comes on showing power is available, there is also an override switch on the side – easy to use – simples.

  41. Gannon Burgett says:

Purchased this to use on our outside flood light. With the increase of electricity costs I no longer wanted to leave the light on 24/7. This is a simple device to use, it only lost one star because the segments are a bit awkward to pull out and I broke a nail trying to set it. Red power light on it to show its working.

  44. Anonymous says:

This timer is very easy to use although more difficult if you have large fingers. You could use a slim object to press down the black spacers that mark what time you want the device to come on/off. on the whole though I am pleased with the functionality and ease of use.

  45. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

Only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that there’s a 10-15 minute interval during the day when the timer turns off for a brief moment and I don’t think there’s a way of fixing this. That’s something very minor though and I would still highly recommend this product!

  46. DollieHodel says:

This works well but it is difficult to access the on/off wall switch once it is plugged in. It was trial and error at the start to work out whether the unit is on when the mini levers are up or down, and whether the switch on the side is ‘always on’ or ‘timer’. A leaflet to explain would have saved time.

This is a cost effective way of saving energy on lights due to being able to time it and not have to leave the lights on when you go out, so they’re on when you return at night or early morning. ALSO ideal for cooking with a crockpot (slow cooker). I actually bought another one locally for same price whilst browsing the store for decorating materials. 10/10. Thanks.

Bought 2 of these to run lamps at home. They work as they should but do have an annoying tick/click as the clock goes round.

Was using one in our bedroom but ended up changing for a digital one as the noise from the timer clock moving was annoying at night when trying to get to sleep.

I found the instructions for the light timer slightly confusing. I then googled the item and found video instructions on You Tube. This was exactly what I needed. Setting the timer is very simple and straightforward. I was away for 4 nights and my lights came on and switched off as per settings. Very reliable and would highly recommend although instructions need to be more explicit.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersYou can select the on or off time intervals in 15 minute segments over any 24 hour period. There is also an override switch to turn on the power during an off time if needed. You simply set the timer to the correct time by rotating the dial to align the current time with an arrow on the front.
It is a no frills, straightforward and cheap time switch.
I bought it to turn the outside Christmas lights on at 5pm and off at midnight. It works perfectly well.

This seems like such a basic piece of cheap plastic but it does really work. Honestly, I am 3 days in to using these and still get surprised when they work and turn my electrics on at the times I’ve specified. We use our timer to control switching on/off a table lamp. The timer is extremely easy to use and works perfectly. Previously we had a very complicated digital timer with endless pointless permutations which we never used, which was difficult to adjust. The new one is perfect for simple but effective control.

The products is exactly what is supposed to be. Maybe a bit bigger then expected.
The 15 mins timer is not super precise, I would suggest to buy if you have long stint of on and of, like me that I do 12 hours on and 12 hours off. Also the shape make you sacrifice one slot next to it, so be aware of that. For the rest works like a charm!

Good product as expected to be

Product works great, though you wouldn’t get this in a socket that is limited on space as it is quite wide and long. The black indents to select the time is slightly out by about 2 clicks (30 minutes). So if you set the timer to start at 10 it won’t start until 10:30, but then it’ll finish half an hour after the time defined so once you’ve tested the product to check this it’s not an issue. I’ve bought another one since as they are good.

I’ve had one of these for 10+ years which I still use for my Christmas tree lights. Very easy to select the times that you want the lights to come on and go off and there’s a manual override if you want to have the lights on any time. I use mine to have the tree lights come on when it goes dark and they’re on when I arrive home from work: Visible from the living room window, which is very welcoming and helps brighten up these dark, cold winter evenings.
With the addition of a second christmas tree in our house, I wanted another timer to do exactly the same. This tree is situated in the kitchen/dining area, so I’ve selected it to come on around the same time we have meals then they can go off when I know we’re not around.
It’s also handy as I often fall asleep in the chair of an evening and wake up at silly o’clock in the morning. This timer is so handy as I don’t have to go around checking that all the tree lights have been switched off!
This timer can be used with anything that uses a three pin plug ie heaters, lamps

Almost returned this within the first hour of use. Plugged it on a test run and after 30 minutes the time rotor hadn’t moved. So, switched it to the ‘power alway on’ setting and my light came on, so that bit worked and it was drawing power. However, its a little useless if it doesn’t have the correct time with the rotor not working. Anyway. Unplugged it and tried again, still no movement this time after leaving it for 2 hours. Checked that it was connected to power and tested, it was powered on. Performed three complete manual rotations and Tried the time switch three further times with no luck so by now it was bed time. Next morning after leaving it plugged in over night, unplugged it to send it back but thought I would give it one more go and low-and-behold it started working.
I would say a bit, if not far too temperamental, but will see how it goes. At this price point its 50/50 if it’s worth the hassle of sendinding it back, I would hope the supplier is not relying on this fact.
