Exactly as described
I am very pleased with my new fire which replaced an old gas fire and this is now a lovely focal point in my living room. I had to buy a piece of black quartz to sit it on as there was a wee bit of a lip where my old fire had been removed. Only downside was that it reduced in price 2 weeks after I bought it !

The fire effect is fabulous. Don’t know about the heat as haven’t used it. Bought it as a focal point and it’s first class for that.

My partners parents have just had their old fire ripped out and their bungalow fitted with a new central heating system. So she decided we would get them an electric heater for their frontroom to go were their old fire was. This was our choice and what a great decision it was. Her parents love it and seeing as they’re both retired and spend most of their time when home in their frontroom they can have this on instead of the central heating. This saves them money whilst keeping them warm.

I have had to purchase the frame, as although the opening measurements were comparative to the measurement for the fire, I did not check the depth of the opening.

We love this fire. We needed to replace our gas fire and wanted something which looked realistic. This fit the bill and we are thoroughly enjoying it.
One minor gripe is that the lovely ’ember glow’ also shines out of a strip at the bottom of the fire. Ideally they would have put a strip there to prevent that happening. We blocked it ourselves
We haven’t tried the heater properly as yet – other than switching it on for a moment to see that a) it worked and b) there was a reasonable amount of heat – as it’s too warm for heating at present. If it doesn’t heat well then I will update this review.

Easy to set up, looks lovely and heats quickly
Bought this for my parents when their old electric fire broke, they love it. They use the fire display each evening with no heat, just because they like the realistic flame effect.
Bought to fill the hole left the after removal of a inset gas fire and back boiler, looks ok, dont particularly use the heater, just put flame effect on. Had to buy a spacer from dimplex, as the fire was 3mm too high for the opening in the marble back plate, knew it was going to be touch and go when i bought it. You’d think that there would be a standard size for inset fires!

This fire replaces a Dimplex Opti-Myst which was purchased in 2010 and after needing a replacement sump (100 plus) 2 years ago it finally gave up the ghost last month. After pushing the side and top trims into place it just slides into the fireplace and hopefully will be less fuss than the other one that required topping up with water every few days. I don’t like giving 5 stars for anything but the fire looks good and the Optiflame effect is cheerful.

Old fire out, new one slotted in just fine (with a bit of chiselling out of fireplace). Easy to follow instructions. End result is a lovely, modern fire which gives off lots of heat, even on setting one. Can just have flame effect on and the room feels warmer. Yes fan takes a bit of getting use to, but will soon be un-noticable after a few uses. Well worth the money.

I bought this fire to replace a cheaper mistake which was not inset. I like the brushed stainless steel look of this fire and my fireplace now looks finished. The back of the fire is mirrored. White stones give it a more modern feel than fake coal. The switches are also very easy to use if you have mobility problems. The fire is a fan heater so there is some noise on the first setting which I have included a video of. The higher setting is more noisy but the first setting was more than enough to warm my living room.

Just put this in today. Lovely flame effect nice and realistic. Also excellent heat output. For this price it’s excellent value for money considering in one of my local stores it is 300 euro.

looks good and it looks expensive the photos don’t do it justice used on the first setting during winter and it kept the room warm its an older type house with high ceilings so it did its job well

An excellent buy. I’ve just removed the old gas fire from my buy to let house and installed this electric fire. It looks very smart, gives out a lot of heat, and the power cable is unobtrusively fed out through the back so it’s not noticeable. I paid less than a hundred quid for ‘good as new’ fire, only the box was damaged, so it’s an absolute bargain. And no pesky gas safety checks!

The one issue I have is that there is a problem with the instructions in my opinion they should recommend that when lifting the fire gloves should be worn at all times as the edges to the brass surround are very sharp in fact lethal as my wife cut three of her fingers badly when we were removing the fire from its box.

If I have one criticism about this fire it would be the ugly black cable that is only about six inches long before it interconnects with a kettle lead like a computer users. This makes it difficult to obscure although we did disguise it behind a vase. The fan noise is noticeable but no more than any other fan heater and I would imagine that anyone in the room would soon become accustomed to it.

It was dispatched really quickly and arrived in excellent condition but the item was scratched inside the box see photos. It’s a beautiful fire and compliments my granite hearth and back panel. It covers the old fire trim, so you would never guess there was a coal fire chimney sitting behind it. It comes with white pebbles but to be honest you could use coal or any pebble or stone you desire. We use the white pebbles and with the imitation flame effect is quite hypnotic. I have mine on just the flame effect so no heat is produced, but it has 2 heat settings with a temperature thermostat that can be adjusted. I would recommend to anyone providing you don’t receive a damaged item like me.
Please note this item if it had not been damaged would have received 5 stars and not 4 as I scored this on my review. I will add that these are fine and hard to see when fitted but very obvious when laid down and if it had not had been for the hassle I would have returned the item for a replacement. So for the poor images of the scratches they were really hard to get to show up on the camera and this damage is on the front left chrome trim going up the fire place

This fire was delivered 2 days after ordering it! I is lovely, throws out a lot of heat even with one switch. The flame effect is very real, looking as though it comes from all over. Would certainly recommend it. It was just a little short if covering my 18″ opening, but still looked great.

Exellent value for money Flame effect is much improved over our old dimplex fire ,which cost a lot more than this model
