We have given up on the average toaster, what a difference paying a bit more makes

Have had several toasters in the past, including Dualit and I keep going back to them. They are very well built, you can check your toast at any time without popping it and the toast always comes out perfect both sides. Handy for toasted sandwiches too if you buy the attachments. Expensive in comparison to many other brands but they last years.

The device was bought September 2020 and after two and a half years of light use one pair of the slots will not stay down, if I manage to allow the rack down it starts buzzing after a few seconds and pops up. I am very disappointed as I thought it was a superior device.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt looks good but it is bulkier and bigger than expected for a 2 slot toaster.
Also the stainless steel leaves finger marks that make it look messy unless you spend the whole time wiping it clean.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersMakes excellent evenly golden toast as one would expect from Dualit. The downside is that it is not repairable as is the case with older UK-made models. The Architect range is made in China.

This is the best toaster ever. Okay, a bit expensive but versus the cheaper plastic alternatives it really represents very good value.

Oh and as an important addendum, it toasts my bread really well! So it looks good, has great build quality and actually delivers what it promises. Hurrah!

This is a great toaster it toasts evenly and quickly. It is solid, robust and stylish. Handy to be able to lift the bars to have a peek at the toast without canceling the process. It does not fit Warburtons bread in unfortunately, for this I have to start toasting it and wait till the bread shrinks a bit, then put it sideways in. Still, it’s definitely the best toaster I’ve had in many years!

This Dualite toaster is a good quality toaster from the dualite range. It arrived well packaged and the colour is just right for my new kitchen. I have only used it a few time but appears to toast the bread as expected. It is easy to change the amount it is toasted to suit each individual in the family.

We’ve had the toaster for a month and no complaints so far. It has been working perfectly fine. I like that it is easier to take out small toasts from the slots. We’re very happy with it.

Couldn’t wait to get this and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s really sturdy and modern. It does get very hot so I’ve had to move it from under a cupboard in case it scorches the wood. You also don’t need to turn it up very much to get a good toast on your bread. Suggest no more than a 3 setting.

Wanted a toaster to replace my Sage toaster which cost a considerably amount more and only lasted as long as the guarantee and could not be repaired, I have been delighted with the Dualit toaster, it has all the features that I wanted, defrost, bagel setting and although like all toasters it could have a deeper slot, on the whole it’s a good purchase and I believe that should it fail I can get it repaired. I will be buying the matching kettle in the near future

Sometimes quality stands out and the cost reflects that. This is one of those occasions.

I am a long term user of Dualit Toasters which are extremely well built and last for years. The older type were only useful for toasting thinner slices of bread so were not that versatile. However, the newer ones such as the Architect are great for a variety of thicker bakery products such as Bagels, tea cakes, bread rolls etc. The end result is that your bagels are toasted in the centres with the outside staying soft and as they should be, and no more squashing down to fit in the slots. Very pleased with this purchase

It gives me joy to look at it and works beautifully. You can even sneak a peek at the toast without interrupting the timer. What’s not to love

Nice looking, easy to control colour of the toast. Freezer function very useful. Nice wide slots to accommodate any thickness of bread. It’s only downside was price. It was quite pricey but glad I spent the money.

This is a great toaster with the room to toast thick bread, buns or bagels etc. The defrost facility seems OK but all toasters defrost then toast so not sure what the point is really. Overall this is a lovely item but for the price the build quality should be more robust.

Good toast from this piece of kit. Very sturdy and heavy so no upsets, can be a little temperamental on the settings so be careful unless you like burnt toast, so best to keep you eye on the machine. Usual accepts a full piece of bread sideways so you don’t get the white but at the top

The negative reviews expressed on here did worry me but my parents had a Dualit for many years without problem so took a chance. What a great toaster, up to all expectations. A treat for us (we bought the kettle and sandwich cage too). I read the instructions fully noting that different breads cook at different levels. Can only assume a rare faulty toaster or someone not reading the instructions first could have resulted in cremated toast! One happy bunny!!!

Fantastic piece of kit up to usual Dualit standard

Does the business with crumpets & toast, worth the spend when compared with badge label Chinese made junk.

Very fast toaster with quiet and smooth pop up.
The feature of being able to inspect the progress of your toast without stopping the program is very useful. Select button for frozen bread and single sided toasting for crumpets & muffins.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a dual slot toaster, each slot is 35 mm wide and slightly more that 130 mm long, so will accommodate a wide variety of bread sizes. Toasting is started by pulling down the lever on the front of the toaster, the lever can be raised to check browning or released early by pressing the centre of the timing dial. My only critic of the toaster is that the timing is not specific check points but each time is in a range, so 2 is a wide band from 1 to 3, wifey and I thus can only say roughly where the dial is set, this is confusing, “Where have you set it dear” (we are polite at breakfast) “Oh, near the three”. “I’m not sure what you mean, have you set it at two or three?”. And so it continues da de dah.

But is looks good and does a goodly nice toasting.

Surprisingly well designed when compared to others. Looks very tidy in the kitchen and very user friendly. Has a unique bagel setting which heats only one side of the elements – something I have t seen before.
    Well made.

I was concerned by a few reviews that said the toaster broke or burned toast. We are only 1 week in — so longevity still has to be tested! However, the toasting experience is wonderful. The toaster looks great — very high quality and great design, with metal construction. The toasting levers feel very nice. It does pop up but also you can manually inspect it mid-toast. The actual toasting pattern is more like you get in hotels — it seems “professional”, rather than usual at home style toaster. I can imagine the burning is because this toaster is super powerful and a lot fo bread needs a low setting. We use a lot of gluten free bread, and it actually improves the flavor of this vs other toasters (which I am grateful for!) Most importantly, it is designed and made in Britain — which we were prepared to pay for — rather than the usual “made in China”. I loved the video of the inventor and his family testing toasters – I was sold! And it is better than I expected (so far!)

Seems to be well made, using robust materials. Previous brands of toaster have been fragile with the pop up mechanisms failing, so, hopefully the Dualit will stay the course.

A little bit pricey 104 on Amazon but does a great job, toast nice and crisp on the outside (thick bread)and just the correct amout of softness inside.I think it was a good purchase.

What has disappointed me is the uneven balance on twin toasters in performance and timing
Set the dials the same and the difference is quite varied in under download and over dow
