    Did I get used?
    The camera arrived yesterday and I’ve had a little time to play with it. It seems to function fine, however I noticed that when I opened my camera roll, two of the pictures I took within the FLIR app were there, but so were 6 other photos I did not take. As a matter of fact, they were dated 3 weeks ago long before I ever had this camera. I also noticed the camera body itself had some minor scratches on it, which seems odd if it’s a new camera. Has me wondering if I was sent a used camera, in which case the price I paid should have been lower, and it should have been clearly stated in the listing that it was used.
    I’m not sure how someone else’s pictures would get to my phone if this wasn’t used!

    It is good in regards to its price and quality. Resolution could be better for those images you can only get at a distance. As a electrical Journyman, this tool works, and as a side mechanic and homeowner it works well.

    Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this to locate in floor hot water radiant tubes before starting a project to install central AC vents in the floor as I didn’t want to cut a heating tube. I was skeptical in the few days I was waiting for the item to be delivered but very impressed after the first use. The resolution is so good you can read numbers right off the tape measure as you’ll see in one of the posted pics. Works great!

    Cool gadget that works very well and has a few uses, such as locating cold air getting in your house or warm air getting out, mechanical stuff like identifying a colder exhaust manifold port, or finding a hot water pipe in a wall or what have you. Is it ALL that useful after 1 hour of playing? No, it's not... you can do most of the above with your hand / an IR thermometer. But hey, the product is not lying, it works great and the extension of the connector to bypass a phone case thickness is clever. A gadget, to be sure, but a very cool one and well made.

    A Great Way To Get Into Thermal Photo/Video
    While this does have some limitations that seem to stem from red tape rather than anything the brand is in control of, what you do get is an easy-to-use thermal camera in a convenient form factor. This adds a whole new dimension to your understanding of the world around you, and great for diagnosing thermal-related issues. Where are the hot/cold spots in your house? Is the air in your refrigerator circulating well enough? Is this car part too hot to touch still? A temperature gun can give you numbers, but this camera just lets you see everything in basically real time (frame rates are annoyingly limited by regulations) and since it’s on your phone, you can easily take pictures and video that are stored directly to it.

    Normally on tools like this, the app is disappointingly frustrating, but the FLIR app has been a good experience for me! Quite stable and most of the settings are easy to get to.

    Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersA Game-Changer for Thermal Imaging
    I recently purchased the FLIR ONE Gen 3 – iOS – Thermal Camera for Smart Phones, and let me tell you, it’s a game-changer! This little gadget has transformed my world into a colorful, thermal wonderland.

    At first, I was skeptical about the capabilities of a thermal camera for my phone, but this little gem has exceeded all of my expectations. The MSX Image Enhancement Technology is a game-changer, allowing me to see things in thermal imaging that I never thought possible. It’s like my own personal superpower!

    One of the first things I did with my FLIR ONE was to take it on a ghost hunt with some friends. We were exploring an old abandoned building, and the FLIR ONE picked up all sorts of strange heat signatures. We found out that the ghost we were looking for was actually just a raccoon living in the attic, but it was still a fun experience nonetheless.

    I’ve also used the FLIR ONE to investigate some strange noises coming from my attic. I was convinced that there was some sort of monster living up there, but it turns out it was just a pesky squirrel. Thanks to the FLIR ONE, I was able to see exactly where it was hiding and evict it from my home.

    But the real fun with the FLIR ONE is just exploring the world around me. I’ve used it to see where my cat likes to sleep during the day (turns out it’s on top of the fridge), to see which of my houseplants are getting the most sunlight, and to check the temperature of my coffee (because who doesn’t want to know that?).

    Overall, I give the FLIR ONE Gen 3 – iOS – Thermal Camera for Smart Phones five out of five stars. It’s a little pricey, but it’s worth every penny for the endless entertainment and utility it provides. Plus, it makes me feel like a superhero, and who doesn’t want that?

    Here’s a comparison between the FLIR ONE Gen 3 for iOS and the SEEK Compact Pro Thermal Imaging Camera:
    FLIR ONE Gen 3 – iOS – Thermal Camera for Smart Phones:
    * Thermal sensor resolution: 80×60
    * Temperature range: -4F to 248F (-20C to 120C)
    * Field of view: 55 x 43
    * Minimum focus distance: 0.5 meters
    * App compatible with iOS devices
    * Battery life: up to 1 hour
    SEEK Compact Pro Thermal Imaging Camera:
    * Thermal sensor resolution: 320×240
    * Temperature range: -40F to 626F (-40C to 330C)
    * Field of view: 32
    * Minimum focus distance: 15 cm
    * App compatible with iOS and Android devices
    * Battery life: up to 4 hours
    As you can see, the SEEK Compact Pro has a much higher thermal sensor resolution than the FLIR ONE Gen 3, which means it can provide more detailed thermal images. It also has a wider temperature range and longer battery life. However, the FLIR ONE Gen 3 has a slightly larger field of view and a shorter minimum focus distance, which may be useful in certain applications.
    In terms of compatibility, both cameras have apps that are compatible with iOS devices, but the SEEK Compact Pro also has an app that is compatible with Android devices.
    Overall, the SEEK Compact Pro is a more advanced thermal imaging camera with higher resolution and better features, but it is also more expensive than the FLIR ONE Gen The choice between the two will depend on your specific needs and budget.

    Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI bought this FLIR camera in order to find where I'm deficient in insulation in my house. I also figured that I could use it to scan my AC panel to look for loose/hot connections. I was going to buy a harbor frieght camera first, but the screen was super small, so I figured that this would be better. It does kind of do the job. You can see color variations when scanning the walls, but it is very grainy and you can't adjust the contrast of the picture of the regular camera vs FLIR. There is not a lot of definition, but you may not need there to be either. If you move too fast while scanning, it will freeze until it can catch up. I think for the money, it is ok for the homeowner that isn't going to use it very often. If I were going to use it for work, I'd definitely step up to the next version higher.

    Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI was a bit worried when I received the FLIR One, the box had already been ripped open and re-sealed. Also, the android sticker that is normally on the inner package was stuck to the outside. The device and accessories were all just thrown in the box and there were no instructions or any manuals included. It's very clear that this was a previously used or open-box product. Thankfully, there are links to the manuals on the Amazon listing. I'm still giving it 4 Stars because it was easy to get the app for it from the Google Play store and it was easy to connect. It works great and it was a good price so I'm happy with it, however, if you are selling something that is not new, please advertise it as such. Thanks.

    Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersGreat device. Android 9/10 users download app from FLIR not Google Play (supports 11 and above)
    I bought this FLIR a year ago, worked great. Software stopped working at end of 2022, but it is only the software on the Google Play, since it requires Android 11 or above now. If you have Android 10 or 9 (go to their support and search on “FLIR ONE Device Compatibility”), then you need to use a different version downloaded from their support site, found by searching for “FLIR One Legacy App v3.6.1 for Pro, LT & Gen3 Cameras” or you can open up a ticket and they will give you the link.

    Battery life is a little short (maybe about 20-30 mins of solid use), but the device is quite light and pocket-sized as a tradeoff. It has come in handy for me scoping out water leaks, cold air leaks and of course, having a lot of fun with the kids. I have them hide, then I track their heat footprints! It makes hide and seek easier 🙂

    Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersFLIR One EDGE PRO is excellent. It's now the third FLIR model in my professional tool lineup.
    I already owned a FLIR B20 and a FLIR One Pro LT. As a consulting broadcast engineer, I love both of those cameras, but I wanted something on the wireless, “untethered” side to use with my phone or tablet at transmitter, studio, and other sites. The fact that the One Edge Pro has both four times the IR pixels (IR resolution) and longer operating time per battery charge compared to my trusty FLIR One Pro LT made it sound like the perfect solution. FLIR scored another “win” in my book with this new camera.

    Out of the box, about 20 minutes of charging time before it was back to full charge since leaving the factory, and a quick read of a couple of sentences in the “Getting Started” booklet, and I quickly had it wirelessly connected to the Flir One app which was already installed in my phone. My FLIR One Android app had recently updated automatically, which added the a start screen app choice of connecting to a FLIR One Edge Pro or the One Pro or LT, so a single Android APP facilitates both of those cameras. Sweet.

    I’m very pleased with the resolution, and the alignment menu option provides for quick and easy alignment of the IR and Digital Camera images, which means the MSX feature (and other image viewing/processing features such as “thermal blending” and “Picture-In-Picture” tools found in the Flir Tools app will line up nicely as well, provided you spend a few seconds using that alignment feature before shooting your thermal image.

    I’ve ready many user/purchaser reviews of FLIR (and other brand/model) infrared imaging/thermography cameras where people complain about inaccuracies in the temperatures being sensed compared to actual measured temperatures, etc.. In my experience, that’s usually due to lack of awareness of the properties and some nuances of thermography. For folks interested in getting the most temperature sensing accuracy possible, developing an understanding of things such as emissivity, reflectivity, reflected temperature, etc., along with having a few inexpensive accessories at hand (such as black, vinyl electrical tape, and a homemade Lambert radiator/reflector made of a piece of aluminum foil and a piece of cardboard) will go a long way to improving the results achieved and the ability to glean really useful data from the IR images — not to mention overall satisfaction with the device, assuming they’ve acquired at least a reasonably decent quality IR camera.

    As a broadcast engineer, the quality of my work depends a lot on having the right tools. I can see already that my FLIR One Edge Pro is going to see a LOT of use while being relatively easy to use. Combined with FLIR’s free Flir Tools software, the new FLIR One Edge PRO adds even more accurate, higher resolution preventive maintenance and troubleshooting power at my disposal, and does so at a price that’s very reasonable for what you end up with in your hands.

    I strongly recommend this camera, unless your demands are such that you just have to spend a few $K on something really super high end. Even though I have an even higher resolution FLIR B20, I rarely pull that big Pelican case and camera out to use it, as the FLIR One PRO LT almost always handled the job. Now that I have the new FLIR One Edge Pro, I’ll probably have to remind myself to occasionally pull the One Pro LT out and charge it for those times when I might want it to be at the ready as well.

    Awesome
    Purchased to look for places around the house where we could improve insulation. Very easy to set up and use. Tested on my Pixlr 6, FireHD 10 Pro and Galaxy Tab 8 Ultra and works perfectly on all of them.

    Great little gadget with lots of users..

    Great little tool for the home.
    Straight away, I found some missing loft insulation in the extension. It was a hot day so the heat was coming in. Can see the bright glow to the right of the hatch. The fridge was also on all the time. I had blocked the rear vent on top with boxes which shows well with this camera. It now regularly turns off and runs cooler after clearing the vent. Tested with a pcb, looking for shorts and general running temperatures of the chips. Flir helps determine which ones need heat sinks. My dog also had to have a photo! Looking forward to fixing issues in winter!

    Beide eigentlich gut, aber ... und behalten habe ich dann doch die FLIR ONE Pro ohne LT
    Vor dem Hintergrund der immer bedrohlicher wirkenden Klimavernderungen sowie der stetig und jetzt auch massiv steigenden Energiepreise waren wir schon lange bemht, unser Altbauhaus durch geeignete Manahmen energetisch effizienter zu machen. Auenwrmedmmung und Tausch von Tren und Fenstern waren an dieser Stelle bereits sehr erfolgreich.

    Nun sind wir an einem Punkt, wo es immer schwieriger wird, verbliebene kleine, jedoch lstige Schwachstellen aufzuspren. Damit begann ich, mich fr Thermografie zu interessieren, empfand viele Angebote fr den begrenzten Einsatz als zu teuer und fand schlielich das Konzept berzeugend, dass eine Thermokamera, die sich den Aufwand fr Anzeige, Aufzeichnung etc. sparen kann, weil das alles ja in einem Smartphone ohnehin enthalten ist, sehr berzeugend. Fr eine Stand-Alone-Kamera gleicher Qualitt msste ich wohl den doppelten Preis ansetzen.

    Ich bestellte also zunchst diese FLIR ONE Pro LT und war sehr beeindruckt. Eigentlich erfllte es mit seiner Auflsung bei Probeaufnahmen alle meine vorerst erkennbaren Ansprche.

    Dann berkamen mich Zweifel, ob ich mit der etwas teureren Variante FLIR ONE Pro ohne LT nicht besser bedient wre, weil sie erweiterte Temperaturen zudem feiner auflsen kann. Ich bestellte diese ebenfalls und schickte die “LT” wieder zurck. Nicht weil die wirklich deutlich erkennbare Nachteile zeigte. Im Vergleich gleicher Aufnahmen musste ich wirklich sehr genau hinsehen, um qualitative Unterschiede festzustellen. Dennoch entschied ich mich dafr, die “Pro” zu behalten, weil ich unsicher war, ob ich diese sehr feinen Vorteile nicht irgendwann doch vermissen wrde.

    Bis auf diesen Punkt gilt meine Bewertung fr beide Gerte gleichermaen.

    Tatschlich fand ich nach und nach immer mehr ntzliche Anwendungen von Thermografischen Aufnahmen auch au0erhalb der blichen Suche nach Wrmelecks im Haus, wie z.B.:
    – Darstellung des Fllgrads von geschlossenen Regentonnen
    – Anzeige des Verlaufs meiner Perlschlauchbewsserung
    – Wrmeverlauf in Komposttonnen usw.

    Einen groen Vorteil bietet nach meiner Meinung das von FLIR patentierte MXS-Verfahren der berlagerung der Infrarot-Kamera mit einer “normalen” hher auflsenden zweiten Digitalkamera. Die Kombination bietet den groen Vorteil einer wesentlich besseren Orientierung im Bild.

    Nicht unerwhnt mchte ich allerdings einige negative Aspekte der Flir ONEs lassen, die fr mich vllig unverstndliche Einschrnkungen der Anwendbarkeit sind:
    – Schon der “HINWEIS – Nicht kompatibel mit …” im Angebot zeigt, dass der Kufer schon sehr viel Glck haben muss, ein passendes Android-Gert zu besitzen. Bis auf mein Huawai-P30-Smartphone konnte bei mir keines erfolgreich Kontakt mit dem FLIR aufnehmen, obwohl sich die App normal installieren und starten lie!
    – Die Benutzeroberflche ist etwas unbersichtlich und hat noch deutlich Optimierungspotential.
    – rgerlich ist zudem, dass keine Mglichkeit geboten wird, die Aufnahmen auerhalb der Androidoberflche zu bearbeiten (z.B. Farbpalettenwahl unter Windows). Die Matrix der Thermo-Informationen ist ja mit 80×80 bzw 160×120 recht klein und offenbar einfach im EXIF-Bereich der Bilddateien untergebracht. Diese sind ja nicht nur unter Android auswertbar.
    – Dass jede Aufnahme ein “FLIR”-Wasserzeichen ziert, ist schlielich wenigstens ein Schnheitsfehler.

    Gesamtergebnis: Fr mich etwas durchwachsen. Einerseits bin ich mit den Aufnahmeergebnissen zufrieden, andererseit bin ich sehr unzufrieden mit den genannten Einschrnkungen.

    If you are house owner who would like to early identify potential problems of house buyer who would prefer to avoid early mayor repairs I can highly recommend getting thermal camera. And this model has good quality to price ratio. It may be too simplistic for professional use but for monthly home inspections will be very useful 🙂

    Very handy
    Our bedroom was the coldest room in the house. I wanted to see that the insulation added when we had alterations was effective. Indeed it was and so too was the double glazing. The camera showed cold areas around the bottom of the skating board/wooden floor junction. Since sealing this off, the room temperature has risen 2C and more open windy days. I’ve been able isolate other areas of heat loss and I reckon that over a couple of years, it will have paid for itself.

    Decent.. but next time I'll buy an all-in-one.
    Biggest pro: works great, totally satisfied from a functionality point of view.

    Biggest con: Battery life leaves a lot to be desired, but at least doesn’t drain the phone.

    Despite this.. the concern I still have, which didn’t occur to me til it arrived, is it needs FLIR’s Android app to work. Without that, it’s a 300 paperweight. I wish I’d bought something with some standalone firmware, that I can count on to work even if the App is canned.

    Takes a bit of time to get used to.
    Simple to use but slight confusing at first as you have more than one type of image available. Finding hot or cold spots is easy and on screen measurements are very helpful battery life is not brilliant but you can use it plugged in if need long use.

    Love this BUT
    EDIT: The replacement is even worse, off centre and wonky. Returning for refund. Gutted 🙁
    2nd Edit: Flir technical support came back to me again and fixed the issue, not sure why the first chap couldn’t do the same.

    Absolutely love what this can do, works mostly well on my Pixel 4a, I can see the hot water pipes in my walls and under my floorboards! Will try with wildlife at some point.
    BUT the FLIR One has 2 cameras, one thermal and one digital, allowing it to show a real time outline of what you are looking at. Unfortunately these are not aligned well, they are about a foot out at a distance of 3 metres. I rang Teledyne, they are very helpful but agreed that this needs returning as faulty. The apps are a little flakey too, probably work better if you buy the PRO version.
    BUT because I love this so much I have ordered a replacement, fingers crossed it will be better aligned. will update my feedback at a later date when the replacement arrives.

    The camera worked well with my I-phone and I-Pad, showing where more or better insulation was required and later to see if it had made an improvement.
    It can also be used to check for poor connections on home electrical circuits and consumer units etc.

    Either the camera is faulty or I’m well and truly heating the neighborhood and the company that did my cavity insulation 10 years ago did nowt and conned me. ( council contractor).
    If the pictures are true, I’m at a total loss of where to start. Need some pro help I think.
    Camera was easy to set up and use. Did not have to take case off. When I took pictures indoors could clearly see cold spots. Definitely starting with roof and working my way down. Not used the tools yet and want to see pics on PC but good camera.

    Doesn't work with all Ulefones
    Although I had the right android build and right usb connection the FLIR app would not recognise my phone. Ulefone do a rugged version of my phone with a FLIR 1 camera built in,which helps confuse things. It works well on my son’s phone, a Samsung. Battery life is good. FLIR do ask you to try different things but in the end, I’m going for a refund.

    Besser als das Vorgängermodell
    Ich habe vor einiger Zeit das Vorgngermodell mit Micro-USB fr Android gekauft und war von dem schwachen Akku und der wirklich schlechten Software enttuscht. Die Kamera (Software?) damals hat sich alle paar Minuten aufgehngt, sofern die Kamera berhaupt erkannt wurde. Getestet bei drei verschiedenen Samsung Smartphones und zwei Tablets.

    Das neue Modell funktioniert hingegen wie erwartet. Anschliessen, Software starten, einschalten. Funktioniert beim Samsung Note 20 und dem Galaxy S10 bisher ohne Fehler. Die Kamera muss zwischendurch nur “justiert” werden, da Wrmebild und das Kamerabild verschoben sind.

    Allerdings haben sich der Akku und damit die Laufzeit nicht wesentlich verbessert. Nach knapp einer Stunde Benutzung ist Feierabend. Was an sich nicht ganz so tragisch wre, wenn sich der Akku bei Nichtbenutzung nicht so schnell entladen wrde. Bei meiner Kamera ist der Akku nach zwei Tagen ohne Benutzung trotz vorherigem Ladens fast leer. Also immer vor dem geplanten Einsatz an das Ladegert hngen.

    Was ausserdem nicht geht (jedenfalls bei mir) ist, die Kamera whrend sie benutzt wird an eine Powerbank oder ein Ladegert anzuschliessen. Also Laufzeit durch Powerbank verlngern ist nicht. Sehr schade. Trotzdem vier Sterne, weil ich durch das USB-C Modell nicht an EIN Handy oder Tablet gebunden bin. Kompakt und mobil, darauf kam es mir hauptschlich an.

    Very accurate, easy to use, and extremely portable! I've got the basic model, and my 2 suggestions to up it to 5 stars would be to be able to move the temperature crosshair (sometimes you want to center a unit in the picture and the crosshair doesn't line up), and to have an available range legend which would really help put into perspective the temperature (colour) differences.
