Easy to use, its size is a great factor to move it around. it has all functionality from a full blown Headrush pedalboard, It is an amazing gear.

Wow! This thing is just what I needed. It’s compact, but punches. A ton of features and effects. From amp models to effects, the options feel limitless. It is built so well, very sturdy. The touch screen is a game changer. Seeing your created chain is wonderful. Do your research, but this is perfect for me and I would definitely recommend.

I’m simply blown away by the quality of the sound. So clean even on heavy distortion. Noise gate works but not intrusive to the sustain. Bought mainly for recording but I’m really tempted to get the dedicated flat response speaker and use for live. For my purposes I believe it’d be preferable to a traditional guitar amp and pedals. My view though and it may not be for everyone… But wow, it’s blown me away.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersJust so sick.

Before xmas, i lived my life sounding muddy and not being able to play very well in the band because i couldn’t hear myself at gigs.
Since buying this, everyone has been complimenting my playing but my playing hasn’t improved a jot…
I just weild the drift-spec JDM DSP that pumps out pulverised and irradiated brain matter from the heads of the folks who turn up to shows.

    Thank you Headrush,
    Thank you digital audio modelling,
Thank you to all of you who buy any guitar related tech and support the R&D for companies to produce such sick, sick, sick, sick, sick stuff like this.

The amount of fun you can have with this is ridiculous.

I’ve owned the pedalboard which has a seven inch touch screen the MX5 has a five inch which makes it a little fiddly you find yourself having to correct selecting parameter options (ok if you have thin fingers)
The sound quality is very good compared to leading brands though the one I’ve used had a noise when you plucked a string that shouldn’t have been there? So it’s going back.
Where these are better than other brands is the ease of use and functionality if you know fx pedals you’ll be creating your own sounds fast.
I found the bigger board just too big but it has complete functionality whereas the MX5 you lack some options that in a live scenario you’ll miss. The Gigboard would be better.
Buy it on Prime if you don’t like it send it back.

It’s pretty unreal how much is packed into this price point, and tiny size. As a guitarist who loves his full sized pedalboard, and a car enthusiast who owns a tiny Mazda MX5 (Miata) this product hit on a few different levels. I was thrilled to see that it was as feature rich on the software side as its big brother, and nearly as packed on the hardware side. If you’re looking for a truly powerful DSP amp sim with quality IR potential this is the device that will do everything. My full size board has replaced my amps, cabs, and every pedal I ever used before. This little device has just become my travel sized option. The only down side to this device is that they tried to fit almost too much functionality into 3 foot switches that are closer together than the pedalboard. The dexterity takes some getting used to but it is a very powerful machine.

The effects for guitar are pretty nice, feels a little limited that you can’t add other effects other than impulse responses. I can use it for my bass rig, but it doesn’t provide a lot for bass specifically. You can use guitar effects but you run into a similar issue that you would if you run a bass through standalone guitar effects, your low end is partially lost. Run the Headrush as a pedal board and it should do pretty well, really good for guitar when pushed through an amp.

I bought this so I wouldn’t be lugging my pedal board back and forth to church every week. My knees are loving how compact this unit is, and the sounds that I have been able to dial in have been astounding. I’m skeptical at how well it will be to make washed out ambient sounds that other people would like to hear, but I haven’t put the work in. When I was looking for a particular lead sound, it took a few days to learn the system, customize the IR, match the right cab output and the gain on the amp output, but the fact that you can do that sort of fine tuning right on the screen is awesome.

So small that it will fit into your gig bag.
Effects are well designed and tuned. It doesn’t offer a PC app, but, in my opinion that’s an advantage as they made the user interface on the pedal board so easy-to-use and file transfers between the pedal board and computer so easy.
I wish they provided a 1/4 inch head phone jack. 1/4 inch doesn’t feel right.
Overall, it’s a great pedal board with rich features and the price is right. Headrush seems to have nailed this one.

    Anche meglio della Gigboard.
Purtroppo pochi amp per il basso…

… fr meine belange sehr pragmatisch.

If you no longer able to carry your amp and rigging this is what you need. It’s light weight but sturdy, has any combination os sounds that you will ever need.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI wanted a modern fx modeller and this is a great device. Logical to set up and easy to control by floor switches. Sounds can be easily modified to taste and of a very high quality. Easily carried to gigs. If you haven’t had a modern fx modeller this should be top of your list.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI bought the mx5 to stop a growing pedal obsession. For the price of a wah and a few pedals the mx5 is a value that cannot be beat. I’ve been playing a Yamaha thr10c for the past 7 yrs…so this is my first experience in this current generation of modelling post helix. I’m still trying to grasp the whole concept of IR’s. I purchased the frfr 108 a long with the mx5. The tones that this processor can produce is inspiring. To think how far we’ve gone is crazy. I started off with the worst sounding crate amp, my good friend had a gorilla amp. What a time to be alive.

I have used the Line 6 Helix and Boss GT1000 which also sound amazing, but for some reason, I like the sound and workflow better of this. They have somehow shoved the same capabilities of the full size unit into this.how? I don’t know, but I love it. Throw it in a backpack and go. My only niggle is the power adapter- it seems a little cheap and flimsy, so if you are using it for gigging, be careful!

Editing is a breeze and in my opinion, this unit has the most useful presets out of the box. If you like using a looper, Headrush excel
    In this department.

All in all, a super unit!
