Can’t complain for the money
Easy to install, reverse camera compatible radio quality isn’t quite factory sound quality but it will do, always use my phone anyway, satnav is “ok” just make sure it takes you to the right place before you start driving, sent me to e6 instead of n19

I have this unit for a couple of weeks now in my VW golf mk6.
Installing was pretty easy, but provided manual was useless. Fits perfect.
Start up takes maybe 3 sec so it’s not a problem at all.
Bluetooth is working great, as android auto.
Responsive screen.
So far impressed.
Undoubtedly best for price and ease of use
Main things to know are that although wireless Car Play is possible you will need a steering wheel button that is set up for voice commands to allow you to connect your phone, so don’t buy this expecting it to work because your car may simply not support it. And if you are like me, wondering if because it’s a tablet how long it will take to boot up, don’t stress, unless I have left my car off for a few days I’ve never seen it restart fully, note it also DOES TURN OFF FULLY when you take the key out of the ignition, but it takes a few seconds, it won’t run your battery flat. Also for Android auto and Car Play (if you cannot use it wirelessly) you will need to route a provided USB cable through the glovebox or centre console if you prefer, both provide power but you need to use the grey one for the connectivity to the unit, as there is no front IO. It is a little fiddly getting it to the glovebox but to be honest I’d rather have that than a dangling USB cable when I don’t have my phone plugged in. I have found the Car Play to be very slightly temperamental but I’m 99% sure that is just my phone as my partner has no issues connecting right away. The Bluetooth does work great with songs and contacts, with the added bonus of being able to use media controls for changing music if you use Bluetooth over a Car Play or Android Auto, I have a MK5 Golf and the MFD allows me to see tracks and skip if I connect to Bluetooth, it also syncs contacts and allows you to make calls, the wheel button works too and you can go straight to the Bluetooth calling app from there. You can connect multiple devices to the unit on Bluetooth if you share a car. As for screen size, it’s more than big enough, its about 3 times the size of an average phone screen if you need scale, or if you have the standard radio, picture no top and bottom bezels and 5cm from left and right, that’s the screen real estate. The unit is ready to have a reversing camera installed, if you already have one I’m sure it will work flawlessly. The downside is you cannot (as far as I can tell) turn off the reverse screen even if you don’t have a camera; if you don’t I suggest going to settings and turning off the camera settings as it will pause your music otherwise when you enter reverse. As for the navigation, I can’t help much as I just didn’t bother connecting it because I just use google or apple maps. The radio works perfectly as you’d expect. The stereo itself is good (referring to sound quality here) and has a lot of adjustment through the built in EQ. The microphone built in to the display is ok, however I regret not installing the provided cable microphone, as when driving people sometimes cannot hear me, so I highly recommend not being lazy like me and installing this. There are lots of other extras in the box which you may or may not use but as it comes, plus the USB’s and Microphone, this head unit is leagues above anything else I have seen in the price bracket. Especially with Android Auto and Car Play.
The only real downside I have found so far is that there is a little pop out shortcut menu which for the life of me I cannot seem to get off of the screen, I have become immune to it now but to begin with it was in my eyeline when I was using it. Never know a setting to change that might be added in an update.
Hope you find this review helpful.
Great uni
Only one thing I have found that is not that good and that is the DAB radio. It struggles to ( A ) find stations and ( B ) keep them. Other than that everything else works really well especially the SAT Nav.
GPS
The set itself i cant fault but the GPS signal is always searching if i put my hot spot on the phone its fine the thing is it comes with aGPS antenna
Easy to install
My very expensive branded stereo, had so many issues I want to change it. But I didn’t want to spend 400+, for a radio with Sat Nav, DAB, phone connection and a CD player. I watched some clips on YouTube and found this. Not only was I able to secure it at a very reasonable price, but for less than 20 I also included 3 years full cover.
Delivered the next day, and very easy to instal on the VW loom. Setup was easy and I was very impressed with the extras, great little addition of the Canbus connection which gives you the info on the fuel, temp and other warning information. I was also impressed with the fit and finish. Highly recommend this.
Works perfectly
Works perfectly, sounds good, Sat nav isn’t brilliant but didn’t buy it for that. Connects in a couple seconds to my phone
Go for i
Very good, was easy to fit myself, built
In sat nah good a little slow but I hardly use
It as with the radio which is good, the best is the car play, amazing, split
Screen mode, calls, texts, so easy to use and made the car so much bette
Get what you pay for but don’t regret buying i
Main reason for purchasing it was to have Bluetooth (which connects fast) as my iPhone 11 can’t use a charging cable and aux at the same time, touch response is pretty quick.
Works with my steering wheel control and much better sound than the original manufacturers.
Love how it gives you info when a doors open, oil temp, fuel quantity, mileage etc, hate that you can’t change kph to mph though
Few issues is the satnav is a bit rubbish so I just use my phone, the media button on the left does nothing at all and hve he a few hiccups where my phone is connected but plays music from my phone, works well at the moment though. I would recommend if you’re not fussy and mainly after Bluetooth. Overall it does look nice
I was a bit sceptical for the price but I am really surprised how good it is..well packaged and everything is fast and responsive, so many features from games to basic car diagnostic details.. music quality is just as good if not better than the standard player with the EQ settings tweaked. Sat nav is accurate. Bluetooth connects instantly with no issues and the DVD player works just as well. Installation was click and connect, took me 30 minutes to fix up everything and have the dash back together. I did not get the dab so I cannot comment on that but it was everything I was hoping for and more..and for the price, a bargain! Well worth the price if you want to upgrade your standard uni
Amazing! Had this bought from my wishlist as a gift for Christmas. Easy to install, great sound and all works fine (not slow at all) I would like to get a camera for the dash but not sure which one it can use?
(update) Can confirm 250gb micro sd card works great with movies and music all on it.
Good product, good quality and looks good, looks original with the vw logo coming on when turned on. Fast delivery and friendly team. You just need to order dab as extra and you can get wireless camera too which makes life easier to fit. Recommended.
Fits perfectly in the VW Golf mk5. Easy installation. Everything is working as supposed to, perfect comunication with cars ECU. Easy to change GPS software if you need (WinCE). GPS working with antenna under dashboard. Great support for backview camera. It supports SD cards for music. Good price for this upgrade and perfect sellers support, simply all I need.
Liked : the fact that it was a perfect fit for my VW (No surrounds required).
Very good hands free, the original reason for buying as if I wanted to upgrade my orginal VW stereo to hands free the VW module and fitting would of cost a lot more than this stereo on its own.
Good quality DVD player, can play direct from DVD (not blu ray compatible) or from SD card.
Sat Nav, very good (Settings do require some tweaking for KM to Miles etc)
Lots of extra features like games (wouldn’t really use) car info (doors opened, fuel gauge, miles on Speedo.
Very good customer service! I had a few issues with settings after fitting. Helped by e mailed to resolve them, very prompt responses and very easy to explain
Stereo its self looks and sounds good.
Dislikes:
Wiring loom wires could do with being a little longer, as a little tight when fitting.
DAB add on: some of the channels are quite quiet compared to my original DAB stereo
It’s good the fact it mutes the Stereo when reversing and parking sensors activate, but it doesn’t stay muted when using the front sensors.
Would advise not using aerial provided if fitting to orginal VW twin aerial adapter, as only one of the connections fit (not enough room for the two) it does work but some FM signals are in and out. I purchased for about 5 from eBay a connector with correct twin fitting and it works much better.
I bought this for my 2008 VW Golf GT 170 TDI. Installation was a breeze after having to take the middle of the dash out just for the 4 screws, thanks VW. Back to the stereo, it is as simple as plug and play. After sorting the settings out it is great to have the VW logo come up on turning it on (many other logos available). Bluetooth is fine no issues there, nice that it auto connects and no loss of connectivity so far. The satnav I was worried about most when I ordered this, however once GPS is positioned (on dash on passenger side), I have had no issue, works as it should however once you have bluetooth on and maps running the volume turning up or down the music lags quite a bit and you have to wait a second or two for it to adjust. Other than that the stereo looks clean in the car and is a huge improvement to the VW stereo.
